I recently had a consult with a doctor who is well regarded in the endometriosis world, however, she did not recommend surgery based on my MRI results. She emphasized that my symptoms (10+ years of painful periods) are not severe enough on a daily basis to warrant a risky surgery. I was super confused by her response. What am I missing?

Now before I start, this isn't some kind of power ranking or scaling list or debate. This top 3 pick is based entirely off of these characters abilities and how they use them. This is in no way meant to be a list based on their strength compared to others of their race.
What do I mean when I say "the best" in regards to a race in Bleach. What I mean is based entirely off how much/how effectively they use the abilities granted to them by their race and the innate abilities/techniques given or learned by that race. This may be a bit odd sounding from that description, but you'll understand what I mean as I go down the list.
BEST QUINCY - Quilge
The first real Sternritter to be introduced, Quilge is the pinnacle of using Quincy abilities and maximizing them to their fullest. Quilge is a master of using Blut Vein and Blut Arterie with little trouble and is clearly one of if not the most well trained Sternritter.
While most other Quincies don't really use the Quincy's main ability being their Reishi manipulation, Quilge has maximized it's ability so well that it's basically an entirely new power. He can draw energy not just from the atmosphere but from literally any source of Reishi, allowing him to absorb attacks and defenses without an issue.
Lastly, from what I remember he's the only Sternritter besides Uryu to use Ransotengai, a shockingly underutilized Quincy ability. He rarely uses his Schrift in combat and despite this is possibly one of the most dangerous Quincy super soldiers in the series. Goes to show that the Sternritter could have been far more unbeatable with the right training and discipline.
BEST HOLLOW - Ulquiorra
Ulquiorra is by far the best at utilizing hollow abilities that we've seen in the series. He's unique from all the other Espada because instead of focusing on increasing destructive power, he's the ONLY Espada who can use one of the Arrancar 's unique abilities being High Speed Regeneration.
Not that his destructive power is anything to scoff at either as he's shown possibly the greatest destructive power from any Arrancar. He's shown usage of every basic hollow ability at levels very few can rival him in. While he can't use them in as quick succession, his Ceros have shown to be much more powerful and effective than Starrk's. While his Sonido may be slower than Zomari's, he's made far greater use of it in every battle he's been in. While Nnoitra's hierro might be tougher, he's still done more with it than he ever did.
The only ability we haven't seen Ulquiorra use directly was Bala and it's so weak in comparison to his other hollow abilities that is may as well be worthless. On top of this, Ulquiorra is so great at being a Hollow that he's even ascended to a second resurrection state that not even the king of the hollows who's existed since Hueco Mundo began could attain. It's safe to say Ulquiorra wins in this category by a landslide
BEST SHINIGAMI - Urahara/Aizen
Now this one is a very tough pick. Shinigami are very limited in terms of their unique racial abilities. While they have a few things like flash step and kendo techniques, their main source in combat is through their Zanpakuto and it's transformations. Most Shinigami are like that including the Zero Division.
I've yet to see a single Soul Reaper slack in either of these categories, so I decided to base this off of another Soul Reaper ability that's greatly underutilized and overlooked. That being Soul Reapers usage of Kido. While Kido is used occasionally, it's rarely the main focus of a users arsenal.
Except for Aizen and Urahara. While obviously not the best Kido users in the verse, they use it in and out of combat more than anyone else in the series. Even the Zero Division who created Kido don't use it as often as these two do and integrate it so well into their fighting styles. So, I'm giving it to them based off this fact.
Mind you, this list is in no way meant to be something super serious or anything that's meant to offend or rile anyone up. Just thought it would be fun to analyze who is the best in the utilization of their innate abilities. If you agree or disagree, feel free to reply. Or anything I got wrong. Thank you for reading 🙏🏿

2024.06.02 03:41 Trash_Tia I was part of a junior detective gang in a small town with no monsters. So, we decided to make our own.

When I was ten, I formed a junior detective squad.
Mom bought me the entire box set of What's New Scooby Doo, and I was inspired to start my very own detective gang. I held auditions outside the gymnasium at recess (serious enquiries only) after a number of kids tried to apply for the role of Scooby Doo despite me reiterating I was not interested in playing make believe.
When I was laughed at in class, I made posters strictly asking for SERIOUS wannabe detectives, even going as far as using my Mom’s printer to make flyers, sticking them all over the school.
Auditions were simple. I asked them to solve a simple riddle.
Whoever impressed me got to sign their name down, and I’d get back to them.
I spent three days sifting through kids who definitely had charm, but they lacked the intelligence of a junior detective. Most kids were only auditioning to make fun of me, anyway.
Still, though, I didn't give up.
My flyers had five requirements:
1). You had to be smart.
2). You were not allowed to be a scaredy cat.
3). You had to accept your inevitable death at the hands of our town’s evil villains.
4). You had to have a fully registered driving licence (I quickly changed this to a bike).
5). You cannot have a criminal record.
(I later scribbled this one out, writing over it. *“You cannot have any tardies.”
Narrowing the applicants down to three kids, all of whom failed to share my enthusiasm for solving cases. The kids I picked didn't even know how to make plans, and when I invited them to my house, they stole my Mom’s necklace.
I didn't even need to solve the mystery of who stole Mom’s necklace. The girl was wearing it at school. I punched her in the face, and was immediately sent to the principal’s office. When I was being given the mother all lectures, the door quietly opened, a head peeking through.
It was Ben Callows, a freckly kid with overgrown brown hair hanging in his eyes. Ben really needed a haircut.
He was always wearing the exact same baseball cap, and I found myself wondering if it was permanently glued to his head, stuck on top of unruly brown curls practically matted to his forehead.
In class, Ben was also known as Bloody Ben. In the second grade, the boy had a nosebleed in the middle of a spelling test, bleeding all over his paper.
It's not like he didn't try and detach himself from the name.
Ben brought in Digimon cards, so kids would call him Digimon Ben instead.
Then he “accidentally” spilled yoghurt down his shirt in hopes we would call him Yoghurt Ben. But no. The kids in our class were relentless in reminding him of his name. No matter what he did, he was still Bloody Ben, and when anything related to blood came up in class, fifteen pairs of eyes would swivel to him, like he had invented the concept of bleeding.
I feared the nickname would follow him to junior high.
Ben didn't wait to be let in. He didn't even knock, striding in with his arms folded. Over the years, Bloody Ben, had definitely soured his personality.
He smiled rarely, and when he did smile, someone was falling over or hurting themselves.
Which definitely strengthened the claims of him being a sociopath.
The rumor mill was churning, with the latest claiming Bloody Ben killed his cat. That wasn't true. Ben’s cat was seventeen with cancer, and that was why he was sobbing all the way through reading time.
According to Ellie Daly, however, Ben had killed and dissected his kitty, and buried her in his Mom’s flowers.
Now, my principal did not like being interrupted, especially when she was in the middle of screaming at me.
Principal Marrow was old old (like, thirty, in my ten year old mind) stick thin like a pencil, and always wore the same stained sweater.
She used to be pretty, but I was convinced she had kissed a frog and been cursed. After our old principal suffered a stroke, she stepped in as a temporary replacement, and since becoming principal, had banned my favorite book series, colored shoe laces, and hamburger helper, even officiating a uniform.
(vomit green shorts and a tee, and plain white sneakers).
Kids were convinced she was a witch, and I kind of believed it.
Principal Marrow’s whole existence was built on sucking the fun out of school.
I was already reprimanded for my mystery gang flyers.
Her office smelled of peppermint and she was definitely sneaking sips of whisky in her coffee cup. I could see the bottle sticking out of the trash.
She straightened up, folding her arms across her chest, squinty eyes narrowing at the boy. I had spent the whole time she was lecturing me trying not to cry, my fists bunched in my lap.
I took the distraction as the perfect opportunity to swipe at my eyes, allowing myself to breathe.
Ben Callows was her victim now.
I was right. The woman's voice was like a thunderclap in my ears.
“You better have a good reason for not knocking, young man.”
Ben wasn't fazed by her tone. “You took my Switch two weeks ago,” he said, “I want it back, or I’m telling my Mom.”
At first, I thought I'd misheard him.
No, I was pretty sure he'd threatened our principal.
I swore I heard all of the breath sucked from the room.
“I'm sorry,” Principal Marrow cleared her throat. Her soft tone was dangerous.
She wasn't being nice. The lady was about to explode.
I could see visible veins straining in her temples, her right eye twitching.
It was straight out of a cartoon.
“Did you forget something, Ben?”
Ben sighed, like she was inconveniencing him.
He held out his hand. “Please can I have my Switch back? It counts as stolen property. Give it back, or I'm telling my Mom.”
The kid put so much emphasis on the word please, I couldn't resist a smile.
I think our principal was too shocked to get angry.
“Get out.” She said, firmly. “I don't have your gaming device.”
“It's in your drawer.” Ben nodded to her desk, “Under your divorce papers and the restraining order ordered by Jake Willow, the seventeen year old boy you've been having math ‘tutoring sessions’ with.” He quoted the air, his gaze lazily rolling to me. “Tutoring”
Principal Marrow went deathly pale, her eyes darkening.
“Benjamin Callows–”
“The school already knows about the restraining order, but your uncle is the head of the Board of Education, so all you get is a slap on the wrist and a warning to leave the boy alone."
Ben continued, and I found myself mesmerised by his words. He was a natural, his expression stoic, mouth curved with satisfaction that wasn't quite a smile. “However.” He held up his phone, pulling it away at the exact moment the teacher attempted to grab it. “You were outside Jake Willow’s house at 6:12am, drunk, and trying to climb through his window, which, I think violates the restraining order, does it not?”
Ben pretended to think real hard, his gaze flicking to the ceiling.
“I mean, I'm just a kid, right?” His mouth curled into the hint of a smirk
“What do I know, huh?”
Principal Marrow’s expression twisted, her lip wobbling.
“Mr Callows, remove yourself from my office, or I am calling your father.”
Leaning comfortably against the door, Ben’s lip twitched.
“Why? Are you planning on telling my Dad about your relations with a teenage boy, or will I have to tell him instead?”
I was enthralled, and fully disgusted, making a move to inch away from the woman.
“But it doesn't end there.” Ben continued. He straightened up, taking slow, intimidating steps towards the woman's desk. “You don't even want Jake, do you? Because, once upon a time, you were in love with his father. Jason Willow. You despised him for rejecting you, so you decided to defile his son.” Ben leaned over the principal’s desk, slipping his hand into the drawer, and pulling out his switch.
Painfully slowly.
She stood there, speechless, her shoulders trembling.
Ben smiled, and I found myself liking it.
“Thank you!” He said, waving the console in her face. Ben mimed locking his mouth and throwing away the key.
“My lips are sealed.”
Ben’s half lidded eyes found mine. “Are ya coming, Panda?”
I forgot my own nickname.
Panda.
I wore my Mom’s eyeliner because I thought it looked cool.
It did not.
Finding my breath, I snapped out of it.
Jumping up, I followed him out of the office, and when the two of us were safely on the hallway, I burst into hysterical giggles. “How did you know all of that?!” I whisper- shrieked.
Ben surprised me with a splutter. “Wait. You believed me?”
Something very cold trickled down my spine.
I stopped walking. “You lied?”
He shrugged. “I had a dig around her office before she caught me a few days ago,” Ben swung his arms, a smile curling on his mouth. “There's no restraining order, but there is prescription anti-psychosis medicine, and an extremely detailed story on her laptop about a teachestudent romance, which I presume is a self insert.”
Ben shot me a sickly grin. “The school refused to make her condition public.”
He prodded at his own cotton shirt embroidered with the school emblem.
“Why do you think she's made all these dumb rules? The woman is a certified Looney Tune.”
I nodded slowly. “Wait. What about Jake and his dad?”
“I made them up.”
I choked out a laugh. “And
 the video?”
Ben walked faster, pulling out his phone and shoving it in my face. The video was real. Principal Marrow was walking around in circles, draped in her nightgown. “It's her own house,” he explained. “She locked herself out.”
Nodding slowly, I was in awe. Bloody Ben was kind of fucking amazing.
“But the restraining order isn't real.”
Ben raised a brow, coming to an abrupt halt. It was his smile that cemented his place in my gang. His lack of empathy for a woman he had gaslit into being a disgusting human being. Ben Callows wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but he fascinated me. Maybe for the wrong reasons. “Her filing cabinets are filled with tinned cat food, Panda,” he said with an exaggerated sigh, “I’m not psychic, but I thiiiiink we’ll be okay.”
I turned to him, unable to stop myself jumping up and down with excitement.
“Will you be my first?!”
Ben inclined his head. “Will I be your what?”
I shook my head. “Sorry. I mean, will you join my mystery gang?”
The boy’s eyes lit up, and I shoved him playfully.
“To solve real cases,” I corrected myself. “Not make them up.”
Ben wore a real, proper smile. But there was something in his eyes, a darkness that was so hollow and polluted and wrong, I pretended not to see it for the sake of his smarts and intellect. “Well, if you insist, sure!” Ben held out his hand, and I shook it. I'll be your first.”
We found our second member, who was, ironically, looking for her glasses under the table in class. Lucy Prescott, the quiet girl, was born to be with us.
The class eraser went missing, and she found it in the blink of an eye.
When questioned, Lucy’s face turned as red as her hair. “I asked everyone in the class and followed the clues to the last person who had it,” she pointed to Chase Simpson. “Which was Chase, who was throwing it at Marcus Calvin.”
Twisting around in my chair, I aimed to get Ben’s attention. But he was already looking at me, chin resting on his fist, eyes ignited with excitement.
The two of us cornered Lucy after class, and when she motioned for us to get back, I dragged Ben (who was a little too excited) to my side.
Lucy looked mildly horrified when I said, dangerous cases, though her expression pricked with intrigue.
She agreed, her gaze lingering on Ben, cheeks smouldering.
Our last two members were a surprise.
Violet Evergreen was what you would call popular on the middle school hierarchy. Not just because her mother was the mayor, but because Violet could get away with murder. The girl refused to wear the school uniform, coloring a single purple streak in her hair to cement herself as the it girl.
She was also one of the girls who started the Bloody Ben rumor.
Ben, Lucy, and I were sitting on the grass during recess, trying to come up with a name for our detective service, when Violet came storming over, hands planted on her hips. She was copying how her mother held herself during town meetings.
“What are you doing?” Violet demanded.
Lucy opened her mouth to answer, Ben nudging her to shut up.
“Making a mystery gang.” I told her. “Why?”
Violet inclined her head. “Oh.” She folded her arms. “Well, can I join?”
Ben stood up, stepping in front of the girl. Violet didn't move, stubbornly standing her ground. “Sure.” Ben flashed a grin that didn't quite reach his eyes. He stepped closer to her, his smile widening. “If you can pass the test.”
Violet’s lip curled. She took a single step back. “What kind of test?”
Ben nodded to me. “Meet us at the swimming pool at 8pm.”
To my surprise, Violet nodded. “Do I need to bring anything?”
“Nope!”
8pm. The four of us met outside the local swimming pool.
Violet was already on the other side of the fence, waving.
“Hey guys!”
I noticed Ben’s expression, his eyes darkening, lip curling.
Still though, he maintained positivity, vaulting over the fence.
“You made it!”
I followed him, helping Lucy, who was immediately freaking out. I didn't blame her. The pool looked cold and dark, a hollow oblivion carved into the ground.
Ben and Violet stood on the edge, the two of them shoulder to shoulder.
Violet Evergreen was braver than I thought.
Standing with her arms at her sides, Violet's hands clenched into fists.
“What's the test?” Violet said, her gaze glued to bleeding black depths.
“I don't know,” Ben murmured, his voice teetering on a giggle. He leaned forwards, arms spread out. “I didn't think you'd actually come meet us.”
Violet hummed, stretching out her leg, teasing it across the surface. “Was that the test?”
The boy leaned back. I caught the glint of a grin under the floodlights. “Nah.”
Before I knew what was happening, he shoved Violet into the pool. The girl didn't scream or shriek, she just hit the surface, sinking into pitch dark nothing.
“Sink or swim,” Ben said in a low murmur, when Violet’s head bobbed under water. I could see her shadow under the surface, imagining the freezing cold depths pulling her down.
“Drown, and you can't join us.”
It was so quiet, suddenly. The three of us staring into rippling water.
A minute passed, and my tummy started to twist.
“Fuck.” Ben’s expression stayed stoic. I wasn't expecting him to say a bad word.
He cocked his head. “I thought she could swim.”
I hit him, holding in a cry. “You need to get our parents!”
But he didn't listen to me, taking a single step, and dropping into the pool.
I fell to my knees, scanning the water.
Lucy was crying. “Are they dead?!” she shrieked.
“Shhh!” I was watching two shadows lingering under the water.
Violet broke through. I expected her to be crying, but her expression was unwavering. She was silent. I thought the splashing underneath her was her legs trying and struggling to tread water, before Lucy shoved me. Hard.
“Panda! What do we do?!”
Looking closer, Violet was perfectly still, her gaze on the sky.
While she shoved Ben under the water, drowning him.
Violet’s eyes sparkled, and somehow, I knew she belonged in my gang.
Her gaze found mine, glinting with that darkness, that poisonous streak I found myself drawn to. It was a starving, insatiable need to understand a fractured mind. Know your enemy.
“Do you want to see if Ben’s a witch?” Violet asked me, her tone something else entirely. This girl did not make sense, using barely her finger to drown Ben Callows. I knew she was wrong.
I knew there was something loose, something unlocked and unbridled and drowning inside her mind and heart.
But I wanted more of her. I wanted Violet Evergreen in my detective gang.
I think that is why I stood there, frozen.
When the thrashing stopped, Ben broke through.
He wasn't coughing or spluttering, his head inclined. “You didn't drown.”
Violet climbed out of the pool, offering her hand. “And you're not a witch.”
He declined her hand, taking the steps instead.
I asked Violet in a shaky voice. I was trembling with terror, but I was excited.
Exhilarated.
“Violet, will you join my gang?”
She didn't answer me until we were sharing hot cocoa in my house.
I told Mom we fell in the pool, and she believed me. I should have told her that my friends were sociopaths, and I was kind of maybe in love. Violet sipped her cocoa, nodding with a smile I didn't recognise. Violet never smiled at school.
Well, she did. But it was always the prick of a cruel smirk.
I don't think her smile was genuine, but she was definitely enjoying herself.
Our last member came to us, instead of finding him.
Jules Howell, a straggly brunette pushed his way in front of me in the lunch line. I didn't really know the kid.
He sat at the back of the classroom and slept through most of class. I did like his accent though.
Jules had moved from Melbourne in the second grade. He didn't talk much.
When he did, I found myself enveloped in his voice, which sounded like water to me, a bleeding cadence to his tone.
Jules piled his plate with fries, smiling widely at the lunch ladies.
“I saw you last night.” He murmured through that perfectly moulded grin.
“Saw me where?”
“At the pool,” Jules said. “You, Bloody Ben, Violet Evergreen, and that Lucy girl. You were doing a suiciding pact.”
“That's not what we were doing.” I said, “What's a suiciding pact?”
“When you kill yourself together.” Jules said. “I saw it in a scary movie my Mom was watching.”
I grabbed a fork. “We weren't doing that.”
His eyes were strange when I took the time to notice them. The excited gleam had fizzled out. Jules’s hands tightened around his tray. “Then what were you doing?”
I didn't reply, making my way over to our usual table. Ben was already waving me over, Violet and Lucy holding up the flyers we were making.

When I bothered turning around, Jules was lost in the crowd of kids.
We were on our first official case, searching for Mrs Lake’s missing mail, when Jules appeared seemingly out of nowhere. And with him, a golden retriever puppy he introduced as Arlo.
It took a dog jumping up at them for Violet and Ben to find their real smiles, their real selves slowly seeping through these facades they had built around themselves. Ben dropped to a crouch, ruffling the dog's ears, his smile faint.
“Who's a good boy?” He chuckled.
Arlo didn't move, tail wagging, eyes bright.
Ben motioned the dog towards him, but Arlo stayed put.
Jules joined us
quietly.
I don't remember asking him, or even him asking me.
He just became part of us, side by side with Arlo.
We soon came to quickly realize that our town was boring.
There were no monsters or thieves, or soul sucking demons. No criminals or serial killers. Not even one missing person. We did, however, get calls about missing cats. I turned eleven years old, patiently waiting for a murder or a kid going missing. But there was nothing.
All we did was chase cats, and the occasional dog. Maybe a budgie if we were lucky. Twelve years old, our detective club became a joke.
The five of us (and Arlo hiding under the table) were trying to pinpoint Mrs Tracy's lost hamster, when three girls came over, dumping their soda all over us.
We watched crime shows for inspiration on catching killers.
Ben’s favorite crime was one that happened in the 80’s in our town.
2 girls murdered.
Their intestines stuffed into envelopes and mailed to family members.
“That's what we should be solving,” he told me one night, “Not missing cats.”
Thirteen years old, we lay in Violet’s backyard under the cruel glare of the summer sun. We called it working and didn't like to admit it was hanging out, or that we were even friends. However.
That didn't stop us growing closer.
Even if it wasn't quite the way I’d expected.
I proposed a plan, standing up, wobbling a little off balance.
“I've got it.” I said, my voice kinda slurry from Violet’s special summer cocktail, which was just random alcoholic beverages we found, thrown into a blender, and diluted with water.
The town wasn't taking us seriously.
So, we were going to make our own mysteries.
I ordered a full-scale assault on our small town. One that they could not ignore. Ben stamped on Mrs Mason’s flowers, and Lucy threw mud pies at people's cars. Jules trashed the high school gym, and Violet and I spray painted threats and warnings on every store window. Now, this did cause panic, but also an official curfew.
Thirty minutes before curfew, we met in our usual spot, deep in the forest near the lake. Ben yelled at me when I was three minutes late. He was real passionate about finding a real mystery.
“You're late.” Ben was sitting on a rock waving a stick in Arlo’s face.
The dog still wasn't going near him, whining softly.
I took my place, muttering an apology. “I had to lie to my Mom.”
Violet, sitting with her legs crossed, idly digging her manicure into the dirt, suggested we buy mannequins and masquerade them as dead bodies, hanging them from the school rafters.
Lucy, who had slowly grown out of her shell, becoming a lot more outspoken, nudged her. “That's a stupid idea.”
The girl groaned, leaning into her. “Urgh. You're right.”
Jules was the only energetic one, standing on the tireswing.
He jumped down, definitely twisting his ankle.
But his smile only widened, kind of like he enjoyed being in pain.
“Why don't we pretend to be kidnapped?” He said, pulling the hood of his sweatshirt over blondish curls growing out. Jules did a dramatic spin, his eyes shining. “We can ‘go missing’ for like a week, and then when our parents are really scared, we can turn up, and tell them we escaped a kidnapping.” His lips split into a grin.
“And then we solve our own kidnapping!”
Ben awkwardly patted Arlos head, only for the dog to pull away with a snort.
“I like it,” he murmured. “I'm in.”
Jules’s idea was stupid.
But.
It was worth a shot.
The five of us agreed to meet the morning after with enough food and supplies for a week. Then we were going to hike to the next town, and hide out for a week. It was an almost perfect plan, using ourselves as victims of our own mystery.
Packing as much as I could, I kissed my mother goodbye (I told her my pack was for a picnic) and set off to the rendezvous we agreed on.
When I arrived, I was the first one there. I checked and re-checked my pack.
I waited ten minutes, unable to contain my excitement.
Then 20 minutes.
It was getting kind of cold.
One hour.
I sat on a rock for enough time to watch the sky change color.
When the clouds were orange, I stood up and stumbled back home. They had gone without me. Mom lectured me when I got home, and I stuck to the plan of pretending my friends had gone missing, even if I they had betrayed me.
Ben said he'd text me when he arrived at the redervous. I at least expected him to text an explanation, but there was nothing. I was in the dark, and after three days of nothing, our town finally began to take us seriously.
“Our children have been kidnapped!” The adults were screaming.
Mom was crying in the kitchen, praying to a god I knew she didn't believe in that I wasn't taken next. I was interviewed and stuck with the exact same story I came up with when I was with the others. Our plan was to return after a week, claiming to be locked up in a dark room with a masked man.
I told my Mother and the other parents that I didn't know where my friends were, repeating the same thing over and over again until I was tongue tied.
“I saw them the day before they went missing, and
 yes, everything seemed okay.” I slowly sipped my glass of milk provided, looking the sheriff directly in the eyes.
“No, I didn't notice anything suspicious, sheriff. Yes, I'm sure, sir. No, they didn't tell me anything.”
It was Ben’s mother who shattered my mask.
“Did I know about
 what?” I whispered.
Something warm filled the back of my mouth, foul tasting milk erupting up my throat. I leaned forward, trying to look Mrs Callows in the eye. “No, I
 I didn't know about Ben’s
condition.”
Mrs Callows was screaming at me about her son’s troubled past when I barfed all over myself, my eyes burning.
In the privacy of my own room, I sobbed until I couldn't breathe.
I tried to tell Mom, but we had come so close.
One more day, and the others would be back.
But that day came. I sat cross legged at our usual spot, which was now covered in police tape. I waited for their thudding footsteps, their laughter congratulating each other for coming up with a great plan. I waited, my face buried in my knees, for my friends.
It was dark when my phone vibrated, and I'd fallen asleep.
I wasn't scared, forcing myself to my feet.
“Where are you?” Mom yelled down the phone.
“Coming home now.” I muttered.
“Sorry.” I paused, holding my breath against a cry. “Mom.” I broke down, forcing my fist into my mouth to hide my squeak. “Mommy, did they come back?”
Mom didn't reply for a moment.
“I'm so sorry, baby.” She whispered, ending the call.
I took my time walking home that night.
There were no stars in the sky.
When a hand clamped over my mouth, I could smell him.
When he dragged me back, stabbing a kitchen knife into my throat, I stared at the sky and looked for stars. His arms were warm around me, violently pulling me into the back of a pickup truck. The pickup truck he'd said he was bringing.
It was his grandfather's, and he could just about drive it.
Hitting the backseat, my body was numb, my thoughts in a whirlwind.
The pickup flew forwards, and I remembered how to move.
I rolled off the seat, my hands pinned behind my back.
Twisting around, blinking in the dim, I could feel something warm, something seeping across upholstery seats. Blood.
It was everywhere, sticky on my hands and wet on my face when I struggled to get up. I was lying in someone's blood.
A scream clawed its way out of my throat.
The pickup flew over a pothole, and something dropped off the seat.
Arlo’s leash.
I screamed again, this time his name gritted between my teeth.
I didn't stop screaming until the jerking movement stopped. The doors opened, pale light hitting me in the face.
Flashlight. Warm arms wrapped around me, pulling me from the car, and then, pulling me by my hair, into our old tree house. It was always our secret place, our saving grace on the edge of town.
The flickering candlelight caught me off guard, illuminating my surroundings.
Two bodies slumped over each other, lying in stemming red.
I felt suffocated, like I was going to die. I screamed, and that warm hand cradled my mouth again, gagging my cries.
Violet and Jules.
There was something wrong with them. And it was only when I forced myself to look closer, when I realized their insides had been carved out, heart, stomach, everything, pulled out.
There was paper on the floor.
No, not paper. Envelopes.
Envelopes stuffed with gore, bright red leaking through white.
Shuffling back, my brain was too slow to react, while my body was trying to vault to my feet, only to be violently pulled back by my ponytail.
I felt his fingers twining around my hair, revelling in my screams.
With another tug, my head was forced forwards.
Orange candlelight felt almost homely, this time lighting up a third body.
Lying on their back, curled up, pooling scarlet dried into the floorboards, their wrists restricted with duct-tape.
I could feel blood underneath me, sticky, a congealing paste.
“Do you know what happened on October 3rd, 1987, in our town?”
Lucy Prescott stood over me, her arms folded across her chest.
I managed to shake my head, when she grabbed Ben’s legs, dragging him under the candlelight. I dazedly watched her stroke the blade of a carving knife, the teeth already stained scarlet. “The intestine murders.” Lucy hummed, tracing the knife down the floorboards.
“A man murdered two high school girls, carving out their insides and sending their pieces to their loved ones.”
Lucy's eyes found mine, ignited in a familiar gleam. I saw it in Principal Marrow’s office. Then the swimming pool. The cafeteria. “It was the sheriff's only murder case, Panda. Ever since then, our town has been boring. There's no mysteries to solve. Nothing to find.”
The girl jumped to her feet, retrieving a blood stained envelope.
She held it up, a smile curved on her lips. The girl turned around, and I heard a horrific squelching sound. Lucy held up a bright red sausage, ripped into it, and slipped it into the white paper.
“But I can change that.” she said, in a giggle.
“I can create a real serial killer, who we can hunt down together.”
Lucy stabbed the blade into the floor, laughing.
“Or! I can bring a fan-favorite back! I can bring the intestine killer back from the dead!”
Her gaze flicked to the others. “There are casualties, of course. The story is, I was kidnapped with Ben, Violet, and Jules. The scary intestine killer killed them, and I managed to get away.”
Lucy shuffled over to me, her eyes wide. “Then! He came back and struck again!”
With those words, she shoved me onto my back.
“First he took Violet,” Lucy hummed, tracing the blade down my shirt.
“Then
 Jules.” I squeezed my eyes shut, pulling at the restraints around my wrists. “Then Ben.” her breath tickled my cheek. “And finally
 Panda.”
Lucy lifted the knife, and I accepted my death.
Until a low rumble in my ears.
Shouting.
Thundering footsteps, followed by the pitter-patter of paws.
“Lucy!” The sheriff was screaming, and the girl stumbled to her feet, the knife slipping from her fingers. Lucy stumbled, tripping over Ben’s body.
“He got away!” she shrieked. “He
he killed them! Oh, god, please help me!”
I don't think Lucy even realised the traces she'd left behind.
The blood slick on her fingers, her manic, grinning smile full of mania.
I was looking for stars when an officer crouched over me.
I couldn't understand what she was saying.
Her voice was white noise.
“Rachel? Hey, try and sit up, honey. You Mom is on her way.”
Instead of listening to her, I curled into myself.
My gaze found Arlo sticking his nose in Ben’s hair, trying to nudge the boy awake.
I didn't fully register the next few days.
They went by in a confusing blur.
Part of me tried to eat, and spent hours with my head pressed against the toilet seat.
I could still see the slithering, scarlet remains of my friends every time I closed my eyes. There was so much red, soaked in that hunting orange light.
Blood that I could still see, a starless sky that stretched on forever.
Weeks went by.
Then months.
I think I turned 14. I wasn't sure. I didn't feel alive anymore.
I stood at my friend’s funerals with a single rose I dropped into their casket.
Violet’s mother was quick to cover the whole thing up.
Lucy's plan didn't work after all.
Our town’s murder cases stayed stagnant at one.
It's been four years since my friends were murdered by our ’Velma’.
Now, at seventeen, Mom asked if I wanted to visit Lucy in juvie.
I'm not even upset or angry anymore.
I want to know why.
Ben picked me up. Arlo was at his side, wagging his tail.
Ben was
different. He'd dumped his baseball cap and gotten a haircut, swapping his old wardrobe of drab colors for an attempt at changing style.
That day, he looked awkward in a short sleeved tee and shorts.
At school, Ben is no longer Bloody Ben.
Now, he is Survivor Ben.
I’m still Panda.
Every time I was with him, I felt like my soul was being sucked out.
Guilt so deep, so fucking painful, I lost my breath.
I live knowing that I immediately assumed it was him that day.
Ben was barely alive when I found him. Lucy had started to carve into him before remembering she needed me.
After admitting it to him, his lips formed a small smile.
“Can I tell you a secret?” He said to me, at sixteen.
"Yeah?"
Whatever he was going to say, Ben never told me.
Presently, I nodded at the dog’s new collar.
“Peppa Pig themed?”
The boy shrugged, ruffling Arlo’s ears. “FYI, he chose it.”
“It's cute.” I said. “Very
 chic.”
We didn't speak the whole ride, but Ben did entangle his hand in mine.
We spent half an hour outside the detention centre. I was panicking, and Ben was trying to hide that he was panicking. In the end, we joined hands, and strode through the doors together.
Lucy greeted us with a wide smile. Just as psychotic.
The orange jumpsuit suited her, though I had zero idea why.
“Hey Arlo!” she giggled at the dog, and Ben pulled the pup onto his lap.
“Ben.” She sighed. “I wish I got to finish you. I would have loved to solve the mystery of your gutted corpse.”
Ben’s smile was wry. “Nice to see you too.”
Behind a glass screen, I asked Lucy one simple question.
“Why?”
Lucy didn't reply. Or she did, but it was just nonsensical bullshit.
But there was one thing she said has stuck with me, chilling me to the core.
I am fucking terrified of Lucy. Of what's she's done, and what she's capable of doing.
It was a throwaway line, and I don't even think Ben noticed.
Or he did, and was in denial.
Lucy's smile was wide, her eyes empty pools of nothing.
The exact same glint in Ben’s eyes.
Jules’s eyes.
Violet’s eyes.
Like something was gnawing away at their psyche, twisting and contorting it, filling them with darkness, poison, that was so vast, so endless, I had craved it as a child. I still don't know what it is.
But I'm going to find it.
Lucy's laugh was shrill, and next to me, Ben didn't move a muscle.
But he did smile.
Yes, my gang were psychos.
But I kind of maybe loved it.
“I don't even wear glasses!”

I'm a 27M who's been very, very sedentary for many years, For the past year ish, I've been having more and more issues with like a cold, icy feeling in the back of my thighs, bum, legs and feet. I can't feel it 24/7, instead, it comes and goes. It tends to feel worse when I sit or lay down, when something is pressing against these parts, like my bed or chair. It doesn't get worse by walking. When I touch these parts with my hands, the skin feels relatively cool. Right now I'm sitting down and when I touch the back of my thigh/bum/knees, it feels cool. Recently, I've also started feeling a slight pins and needles sensation in my feet when I walk. I don't really get any "regular" pain in my calves from walking, but the icy/burning/needle sensation is really uncomfortable and makes me more sensitive to the cold. Like right now, it feels like the back of my thighs and the soles of my feet are burning. This year my hands and feet have been much more prone to feeling cold, even something like touching something cold from the fridge/cold tap water can feel super icy.
I'm worried that I've gotten clogged arteries/bad blood circulation or something due to being sedentary. The past few days I've been really active but it hasn't really helped at all. Should I see a doctor? And if so, any advice for what I can request to make sure that my blood circulation/heart/veins are fine? Or if you think it's something else, please tell me. 2 months ago I got a small blood checkup checking vitamin D, iron, TSH, folate etc and these were all good: https://pastebin.com/yjCSdQhH (that's what was checked). So I guess those are not it. Also, my blood pressure is good.

I recently had a consult with a Nook doctor who is well regarded in the endo world, however, she did not recommend surgery based on my MRI results. She emphasized that my symptoms (10+ years of painful periods) are not severe enough on a daily basis to warrant a risky surgery. I was super confused by her response. What am I missing? Anyone else have a similar case? If so, how did you proceed?

2024.06.01 19:00 rabboni My Ablation Experience

Ok! I found these to be very helpful while I was preparing myself. Hopefully it's beneficial to someone.
My electrophysiologist had identified the source of my PVCs as LVOT and expected a challenge. My biggest concern was that I would go through the whole process and it to have not been successful.
The night before, I was very anxious. I couldn't sleep and, b/c I wasn't allowed to eat either, my ablation had robbed me of my two favorite activities. Not a great start. At about 3:30AM I finally crashed...only to wake up an hour later to get ready to leave.
5:30 - Arrive at hospital. and check in. We were responsible to pay $2400 after insurance. After this point, they no longer care if you change your mind and escape out of the hospital in your gown with your butt hanging out.
5:45 - I get called back, change into the gown. My wife makes jokes about my butt.
5:50 - They put in the IV and ask if I feel safe at home (since my wife is going to be in charge of me for a couple of days)
6:30 - Anesthesiologist comes in and asks all the same questions. He also asks about my teeth for intubation purposes (I was not intubated). This was kind of weird. Also...nurses don't like anesthesiologists. It was pretty obvious that there is a bit of a disagreement about who is in charge.
7:00 - Shaving. I was a bit nervous about this when I found out it wasn't going to be a 60 year old nurse. Instead it was a supermodel just doing this on the side to "give back". That said, she was very professional. "Shaving" wasn't really accurate. She used clippers and it took about 3 minutes.
7:45 - Go time. I kiss my wife goodbye and get wheeled down the hallway on the bed. I was shaking from a mixture of fear and being freezing. They get me to the operating room (which was bigger than I anticipated) and there is a huge screen TV, small bed, and things coming from the ceiling that looked like an alien ship. I hop off the first bed and onto the second, tell the nurses that I believe in them and wish the doc good luck. The nurse anesthetist gave me something to calm me down and the shaking stopped.
Procedure: I anticipated being OUT, but I was sort of aware of things happening in the beginning (My head was blocked with a little tent). Nurses talking to doc. The doc said I'd feel a little pressure that felt like a bad bee sting. I assumed he was giving me local anesthesia since I was still sort of aware. Then I remember him talking to someone who didn't seem to be in the room and I realized they were already working
* "Nothing there"
* "That didn't work"
* "I'm going to try in the other ventricle"
* "Hey! Look at that! There they are"
* "Starting ablation"
At this point I remember saying, "Hey doc, I don't think you need me anymore. I'm gonna go ahead and step out for a minute". He chuckled and said something like, "Yea, go ahead and take a nap". All of this could have been in my head.
11:30 - I wake up in recovery. Nurse tells me the ablation is over and was successful. She tells me to just relax and be still. I'm very aware of things being in me.
12:30 - No one told me about this part. A different nurse comes in wearing a different color jacket. Clearly in training. They tell me the catheters have to come out. I ask if this is going to hurt and they say, Yes. Nothing about pressure or a little sting. They tell me to do my best to relax and breathe. I say, "This kind of sounds like when my wife was giving birth". They said, "Yes! That's good! Think about that". I tell them she had a LOT of drugs. They didn't seem to hear me. The trainee is clearly going to do it. He says to the other nurse that this is his fourth one (ever) and he's never seen someone with three catheters. She tells him to just push down hard on the vein.
Then they remove the catheters and push down...hard...really hard, but not hard enough. The first nurse jumps in and takes over and is putting every bit of her weight on my groin while I try to go "He-He-He-Ho-Ho-Ho". Then it somehow ups another level and things start beeping. The nurse tells me to breath and "Don't you dare pass out". They start asking basic questions and I say, "I know what you are trying to do. You just don't want me to pass out" as though I'm chiding them for not actually caring about my fantasy football team.
This was hard and it went on for 40 minutes.
1:30 - Short term recovery. Talk to nurses. Finally peed (in a bottle)
3:00 - Food. So good.
3:30 - Doctor comes in and tells me about the experience. He says it was successful. They anticipated them being in the LVOT, but when they were mapping they just didn't see them. They moved to the RVOT and there they were. He ablated 5-6 times and they stopped completely. My heart rate had been monitored since the procedure and I've been in Normal Sinus Rhythm since then! He said that it's possible they return but it's very good that it had been so long without PVCs. The longer I go, the better the chance they don't return.
When he left the room I cried. Hard. The relief I felt over just the possibility of this being fixed was overwhelming and I just couldn't stop. The nurse came in and pretended not to notice.
6:00 - Discharged. I feel great. Just slow moving so I don't open up the artery.
Day 2, and I'm still in normal rhythm.

Hello folks, I think some of the reddit folks remember my post from a few months ago which was a list of all the currently active RS3 YouTube Content Creators (which has already changed since some people have become active again), if you haven't here is the link. I had previously posted a similar spotlight post of some of the best RS3 videos for the Month of March and April an wanted to keep it to a monthly theme and have created this May centered post.
These are my opinions but I will provide the title of the video, the name of the creator, a summary of the video and the link of said video.
These videos will be listed based on the alphabetical order of the titles and is not a ranking guide since some of these videos are basically raw and unpolished. Please note a majority of these creators do not make RS3 Content as a profession and they post these videos as a passion project for the game we all enjoy and play, RuneScape 3. If you haven't heard of Pup, you've been living under a rock for the last few years in RuneScape. Known as one of the best PvM'ers, a notorious Clue Chaser, recently Animation Expert and a multitude of other titles that he has probably had over the years he's played the game, has done something that has long been attempted but not achieved. He has reached sub one minute for the Raksha boss solo. The reason why this is so impressive is that most people consider this as the hardest boss to solo in RuneScape 3 to date and that sub one minute would take another few years with the additional power creep that naturally happens. I recommend watching the video to see all the perfect dodges, ability usages and timing of rotations to see this impressive feet be completed.

This particular video I have highlighted for the month is his bread-and-butter style video format where he goes into detail about one of the Crafting Skills most popular money-making method in RuneScape 3. There's a lot of unique elements she utilizes that many people have forgotten but the highlights are her drinking scenes, pet interactions (I love the bear and the first big cat) and just the aesthetic style of clothing the Fremennik wear. Jagex, if your reading this please update the NPC models to wear clothes like these especially the Freminnik Warrior Outfits she created!

Trye RS, posts a variety of guides and money makers but this new one is a game changer especially if you're aiming for the Completionist Cape. In this video, he showcases a new speed running method that makes it possible to do exactly what he explains in the title. Normally a very stressful achievement but this new tech that he cooks up is an amazing shortcut that really makes the achievement a lot more reasonable. Make sure you do this quickly before the method gets patched!

I'm not going to leak what the video is about, but I think it is a very valuable topic and I am happy that Chevalric has had such a positive impact that has resulted in massive improvements for the RuneScape community.

One of the coolest videos of the month is by PupRS and it’s been a hidden secret for most of the normal content creators for a long time. However, if you've seen any OSRS content, you've seen this type of content for a long time which is Custom AvataLocation placement that they use in their Thumbnails. In this excellent tutorial video, he showcases the viewers on how to import your avatar into a 3d modeling program along with a location you have in mind. Using that information, he then showcases the initial process on how to play with some of the cool features to get some awesome looking imagery/poses.

I highly recommend watching or listening to this podcast where they go detail by detail over every single thing that happens in RuneScape with a variety of guests. The desolate metropolis of bone marrow, a realm where life begins for countless cells like me. Ichor’s the name. I was just a minuscule, round, and crimson erythrocyte, suffocating between the bodies of others like me. It was a bleak, claustrophobic world. The world was a factory of life filled with the hollow echoes of relentless activity and creation. The bone marrow was a labyrinth of grotesque networks and niches, spread with the eerie hum of productivity and the dim glow of embryonic cells. Among the almost isolating expanse of cells around me, one stood out. She pulsated with a unique, unsettling energy that seemed out of place in this frigid, suffocating expanse. Her name was Arty, and from the moment we met, I felt a connection.
“Do you ever wonder what it's like out there?” she asked one day, smiling with warmth. Her voice was soft, like a whisper slicing through the bone marrow’s clamour.
“Every moment,” I replied. My thoughts always wandered beyond the marrow. “But it's the thought of experiencing it with you that keeps me going.”
Arty looked different from the rest of us. Her form was slightly irregular, her hue a deeper, almost vampiric shade of red. There was a haunting intensity in her, a fascinating deviation from the monotonous design that surrounded us. We spent our days growing side by side, shedding our nuclei and becoming more streamlined. The marrow's dense, fibrous network was our prison, and its stagnant energy pushed us toward our inevitable fate. We were resigned to the world beyond, and I couldn't fathom enduring this journey without her.
The day of our release arrived. A current swept us away from our birthplace, guiding us toward a narrow passage. This was the sinusoid, a blood vessel within the marrow that would lead us to the bloodstream. The journey was a terrifying ordeal. I could feel the lifeless rhythm of the body, a cacophony of desolation that reverberated around us, the walls of the vessels pulsating with the heartbeat's chilling cadence.
“Stay close,” Arty said, smiling warmly.
“You too.” I could feel my heart, ironically, ache. Arty and I emerged from the marrow into the torrent of the bloodstream, like lost souls adrift in a sea of crimson. The world outside the marrow was vast and terrifying. The bloodstream was a grand, merciless river, its currents swift and unrelenting. As we travelled, we gazed at the barren landscape together, passing through the arteries into the smaller arterioles and then into the desolate network of capillaries. Here, the journey became more intimate, as we navigated through the narrow passages that brought us closer to the body's cells. We arrived at a capillary in the muscles, nestled in the vicinity of a muscle cell, where we performed our first exchange. This was our futile role, our pathetic raison d'ĂȘtre: deliver oxygen to the cells and carry away carbon dioxide, ensuring the body's continued decay.
“Look at this place,” Arty murmured as we floated past. “It's desolate, isn’t it?”
“Yes. And it feels like we're condemned to something much bigger.”
“Together,” she whispered. “Forever together.”
We were forced from the capillaries into the veins, a return route through the bloodstream, dragging us back toward the heart. The superior vena cava, a bleak passage, greeted us with a relentless flow of cells. It was all a haunting procession. Into the right atrium, through the tricuspid valve, we plunged into the right ventricle. Awaiting our grim fate in the depths of the right ventricle, we sensed the impending journey through the pulmonary artery, a pathway to the lungs for a revitalization. Surging into the pulmonary artery, we were consumed by darkness, heading towards the lungs. Inside the lungs, we were trapped in a labyrinth of pulmonary veins, eerie conduits guiding us back to the heart's left atrium. Passing through the embrace of the mitral valve, we entered the left ventricle, tasked with pumping blood out into the abyss. Our final descent began as we were thrust into the aorta. Filled with despair and tiredness, we continued our cursed cycle through the circulatory system, trapped in a grotesque dance of sustaining life throughout the body's inner sanctum.
“This is our life now,” I said, looking at Arty. “An endless journey through the body. Each heartbeat is a new adventure, each breath a chance to fulfil our purpose.”
“And we'll do it together,” she replied, smiling warmly. “Always together.”
But as fate would have it, our journey took a harrowing turn. One day, as we were making our way through a particularly narrow capillary in the heart, I noticed something unsettling. The other cells around us began to recoil. Their cautious actions grew palpable.
“Arty, are you alright?” I asked.
“I'm fine,” she replied quickly, trying to smile, but there was a shadow in her tone and expression, something she was hiding. Panic gripped me as I tried to understand what was happening. We were meant to be inseparable, yet Arty seemed to be transforming into something I couldn't recognize. All I could do was plead to her in my mind, Stay with me.
I’m trying, I could imagine her replying with. The unease between us grew with every cycle. Arty began to change. Her actions became erratic; she disrupted the production of new blood cells, the lifeline of our world, and absorbed more than her share of the nutrients and growth factors we all needed to survive. Our bond strained as the marrow around us began to wither, and the environment that had once been our suffocating home turned hostile. Our separation started subtly, a growing chasm as she consumed the very life that sustained us. As we were dragged back towards the heart, something terrible happened. The vessels here felt different—fragile, hollow. A feeling of dread washed over me, an instinctive warning of impending doom. Suddenly, with a sickening tear, the vessel wall ruptured. Blood, cells, and plasma spilled out into the surrounding void, chaos erupting as the carefully controlled facade of the bloodstream shattered. I was swept away, thrown violently into the abyss. Disoriented and terrified, I searched for Arty amidst the chaos. I saw her, struggling against the current, her form now grotesquely distorted, her colour an unnatural, malignant hue.
“Arty!” I cried out into the emptiness. She looked back with a cold, distant gaze. Her gaze dropped, and a heavy silence enveloped us. The truth hung in the air, unspoken yet undeniable. And then, as if to confirm my worst fears, I saw it. Among the turmoil of cells and blood, Arty's form shifted, revealing the unmistakable silhouette of a threat.
“Arty
?” My voice faltered. But before I could utter another word, a surge of blood swept us apart, carrying us into the abyss of the body's depths. The darkness engulfed me, swallowing me whole as I drifted aimlessly in the frigid void. In that moment of solitude, the realisation hit me with a crushing weight. The love and companionship I had once cherished were nothing but a cruel illusion, shattered by the reality of my love’s true nature. She was a threat, a malignant force that had poisoned our existence, and I had been unwittingly ensnared by her lies.
As I floated alone in the desolate expanse of the body, the memory of Arty's form haunted me, a reminder of my folly, what I foolishly embraced. And with each passing moment, the truth seeped into my very being, leaving me adrift in a sea of despair. In that moment, as the blood surged around me, I realised how I had been tricked by simple deception. And as my consciousness faded into oblivion, the chilling truth lingered in the darkness.
In the end, as the echoes of our bond disappeared into the void, the cold reality of her true identity dawned upon me. Arty was not what she seemed. And I’ve realised her purpose, the real reason she existed and why she was here. Her true function was right there, and I didn’t see it until it was too late.

2024.06.01 17:17 SensorSelf Sensory Issues - horrible part of my life - under valued in psychology by the DSM-V

I understand for ASD L2 and L3 that communication and social issues are massive.
But for me, un-diagnosed ASD L1, my whole life has been controlled by sensory issues.
Many of these issues make me less or un-social (not antisocial) or I piss friends and family off.
This on it's own made me lonely or extreme weird most my life.
SPD isn't recognized and if that's what I have it's somehow meaningless.
If the medical field worked on this people like me would have better health and less need for going to the doc.
Having all these negative physical feelings all the time drastically adds to anxiety and stress.

Diet

I don't eat most foods. I mean I eat variations on like 10 things. I can and have gone through periods of eating the same foods daily for 5 yrs at a time. I ate tuna fish for lunch every day for 2 yrs then never ate fish again. I ate Stouffer's lasagna every night (almost except lasagna pizza) every night for 5 yrs.
The diet issues alone can kill anyone and the diet issues can make other sensory issues worse.
For example:
-if you under eat nutrients your body becomes obsessed with getting whatever it can in and you can then go to horrible foods like sweets/carbs which then...
-cause inflammation and weight gain
-that increases any allergy issues, temperature issues, clothing sensitivities etc.
When I was a kid and didn't understand much of this I was in an allergy nightmare land and much of that was due to diet and much of our foods we didn't know how bad they were (70s-90s) because they just started converting them to mostly artificial and addictive chems.
Many of my sensory issues diminished once I controlled my diet. But since diets are the wild west and filled with marketing lies I had to go through so much unhealthy stuff before I figured that out.
Now my interest in limited types of food is a benefit.
I've had stomach issues all my life. I have stress from digestion.
Digestion even affects my back to the point it swells up and I can't move from extreme pain.
Friends parents forcing me to try to eat at their homes made me stop being friends with at least a few kids.

Sun, Temperature, Sweat and Freezing

I can't explain how much I hate the f'n sun.
I sneeze when it shines warm on my nose.
My clothing becomes uncomfortable in various ways.
I have weird temperature issues where hot in some areas cold in others. My hands are freezing in 90 degree weather. Even when active EXCEPT when I eat tons of sugar snacks. Docs don't know what it is.
I do not go many places because of this.
As a kid it was worse because you don't go out at night as much but in my teens going out was way more fun because it was at night.
When I sweat I ONLY feel my sweat. I almost can't feel or think about anything else and it drives me nuts.
So I have to avoid being hot or moving a lot.
I get sun sick without a tan. I have to sleep out of sickness and dizziness after being outside too much in the sun.

Hair

I feel my body hair when I sweat.
I don't shave much of it off because I can feel it growing back in for days.
My facial only bothers me after a few days as long as I shower immediately after shaving.
People think I'm a narcissist because I'm obsessed with my hair.
I HAVE to control it completely because i feel it in various areas moving all day.
My hair is also a key component to my very successful masking.

Hearing

I don't hear the beginning and ending of words as loudly. Likely an auditory processing issue from endless ear infections as a kid. They won't test it for some friggin reason.
That prevents me from learning my wife's language and processing many conversations.
It may have caused my dyslexia or fully similar dyslexia like symptoms.
I can hear people talking VERY clearly behind me from hundreds of feet aware but up close in front of me certain words don't process.
It's event possibly me processing people visually may make me not hear them as well.
If there is something in a plastic bag on the seat in the back of my car, when I turn it slides, then suddenly I can't see anything except my imagination of what that bag sliding looks like. So I have to pull over and put it on the floor - I'm not the only person that uses my car.
Hearing my kids talk loud or scream puts me into a shocked state where I have issues thinking straight for a few minutes after.

Smell

My mother faints from certain smells.
I'm allergic to almost all colognes or perfumes.
Many food smells make me want to throw up.
I can smell things from hundreds of feet away.
My wife says i can't smell many smells that disgust her. I've read this is normal/common in evolution though.

Taste

Most tastes are gross as F to me.
Even some days my favorite sweets are disgusting. Then I'm just totally dissatisfied.

Texture and Feeling

My food the texture is the biggest deal. I love the taste of most meats but can't stand various textures when chewing it.
Clothing it took a long time to realize I just didn't like how it grasped my body and rubbed on me. 40 yrs to figure this out. Closets filled with clothing I liked how it looked but could never wear it. Costed me THOUSANDS in my life.
I had mentioned I can feel my hair all the time.
I can feel the sun on my skin and HATE IT.
Here's where I'm weird. Hugs from my parents overwhelms me or stresses me out. I don't recall ever hugging or touching my mother.
Hugs from my wife/kids and girlfriends before my wife are very important to me.
I do flinch extremely when people touch me and I'm unprepared.

Interoception

I have both a huge sensitivity to my inner body and don't notice normal things in my body.
I don't realize I have to go to the bathroom until I'm physically sick sometimes or it's right away minutes after I eat.
I can feel various veins pumping blood, not just arteries.
I knew I had ulcers at 11 or so pretty quickly but that may be normal.
I can feel almost every location in my head that is affected by allergies and mucus. I feel the upper back of my throat daily. I feel my inner ears.

Proprioception and muscle nerve communication

I have to lean on the wall to put on sneakers or pants etc.
I have general walking balance issues. Adjusting for this causes more back issues.
I have issues tying shoes.
I choke on water daily.
I spill water if I filled a glass beyond 60%, almost daily.
I don't have a fear of heights but I have a fear of controlling my balance when on a ladder or a high area. This then appears as a fear of heights.
I worked very hard at becoming a good guitarist as a teen. 2-3 hours a day, I loved it. But I was always confused why some days i'd seem like a virtuoso and other days I just couldn't play accurately at all. I'd lose timing in picking and then next day I was great. I do know alcohol, a small amount, improves this but this is likely why many guitarists have drinking issues - on top of life issues. So I don't want that.

Cramping

If I don't drink half a glass of water with 200mg of magnesium EVERY night I have to shoot out of bed with excruciating pain nightly. It hurts me so bad that those muscles hurt for days after. I can get cramps in the front muscles of one leg and back of the other at the same time causing me to be immobile.
I have to add zinc on my diet cheat days after too much sugar or worse cramps.
I get cramps in my hands from just lifting drinking glasses.
This is just some of it that I could think of right now.

I recently had a consult with a Nook doctor who is well regarded in the endo world, however, she did not recommend surgery based on my MRI results. She emphasized that my symptoms (10+ years of painful periods) are not severe enough on a daily basis to warrant a risky surgery. I was super confused by her response. What am I missing? Anyone else have a similar case? If so, how did you proceed?

2024.06.01 16:05 AshamedComfort8976 Recently arrested for DWI - was not impaired.

Hello,
I am in the state of Texas. Recently, I was pulled over for doing 9 mph over. I was keeping with the flow of traffic. I have Crohn's disease, and use CBD whenever my flareups become severe. I had half of a CBD cigarette in my car at the time I was pulled over. I purchased it at a store here in town. They did a field sobriety test, which I feel was poorly administered. On the roadside, I was failed on one criteria (that being my eyes crossed when instructed to focus on his finger when it was roughly an inch from my face,) and I was arrested on a D.W.I. When I was arrested, the officer asked if I had any guns in my car. I had a pistol in my car, which is legal for me to own and was stored in accordance with the law. I was told he was not worried about the pistol.
Once I got booked at the jail, a second sobriety test was done. It was my first experience with it, but I think I could reasonably call the officer's competency into question if I have to go to court. It took him over 3 minutes to palpate a pulse in my wrist because he was doing it wrong, and I'm pretty sure he made up the heart rate results. He said it was 130, 120 and 110 each time he took it. I find it unlikely that it dropped by a perfect 10 BPM with each subsequent take. He took my blood pressure, placing the BP cuff improperly (and verbalizing he did so, he said he was "looking for my veins", those cuffs go over the brachial artery) and got the result of a textbook perfect 120/80. I know my usual blood pressure, it is higher than this, and I would argue that a BP of 120/80 with a heart rate of 130 is almost a physiological impossibility.
I called the bail bondsman in jail and only then learned of my charges; a DWI and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. I think the UPF is secondary to the DWI. I had asked the cop when he arrested me if I'd be able to get out of jail in time for a test the next morning. He said if I passed the FST at the station I'd be able to go pick up my car that night (LOL I was naive, though I managed to make it and take the test on 26 hours no sleep)
Anyways, how should I approach this going forwards? This has interfered with my academics, and I am currently appealing a STRONG decision my school made. I called the DA's office she had not yet accepted the case 2 days after my arrest. It is a weekend and I will call back and ask on Tuesday. I question whether or not she actually will. I feel like if she watches at least some of the body cam footage from my arrest she'd realize it would not be an easy case to fight should I lawyer up. Though I'd be willing to take any type of deal with her just to get it off my record ASAP so that I may resume my academics. Ideally she refuses to accept the case while my appeal with my school is ongoing. That would really bode well for me.
What do yall think? I live in a college town where the police are infamous for behaving in a predatorial manner to the students. The jail was over-booked. I was booked at 10 PM and wasn't given any paperwork or ability to call someone until about 3 AM. I hear court dates are almost half a year out, and the crowd in that jail looked much rougher than students. Without knowing the local prosecutors, do yall think it is likely my case will actually be accepted? Do you think I have strong grounds to fight the DWI charge should I need to? My ideal scenario is that the DA just doesn't take the case or maybe I can make a deal to get the charges dropped. I'd be willing to accept probation, PITA that it is, just to get my academics back on track.
