As someone who was born and raised in the uk I can understand how people as a base instinct would root for Israel, as a teenager I saw posts on social media about Palestinian oppression and started sharing them. I was told off by my mum, my posts all got removed and when I asked a teacher about it in school they told me being anti Zionist was anti semitic, everything I saw in the news was pro Israel and labelling Palestine as a terrorist state. I have some Jewish roots so have always been raised with an awareness of antisemitism, my mum taught me about the holocaust as well as other things like South Africa’s apartheid. However the one thing I can’t understand is how people are not only still siding with Israel but not actively doing their best to show support and join Palestinian demonstrations. I can see how people would start with Israel but not how people can still be actively supporting a genocide. I just have questions because I still can’t understand how you can see what’s going on and think that it’s alright.
1.) what entitles Israel to forcefully remove civilians from their homes? 2.) what entitles Israel to commit ecocide which almost exclusively harms civilians? (which they have done en mass. According to many sources.) 3.) If you support Israel do you also support the US and UK invasions in the Middle East? 4.) Do you see Palestinian infants as terrorists and how can you justify the deaths of so many children? 5.) What is your opinion on the constant use of drones simply to make noise with the purpose of depriving everyone in Gaza of sleep (which is a common torture method and goes against the Geneva convention) 6.) have you seen the videos from Palestinian content creators like Motaz Azaiza and if so what is your opinion to seeing content like babies being pulled out of rubble? 7.) How is a state that excludes people from living in areas, walking down certain streets and restricting basic human rights and access to water, electricity and food not an apartheidal regime? (All against the Geneva convention.) 8.) why is the reaction to October 7th so disproportionate? 9.) Do you realise that Hamas only exists as a result of Palestinian oppression? 10.) Do you know that the amount of people detained by Israel without trial or charges even just currently; dwarfs the amount of hostages taken by hamas? 11.) What’s the justification behind videos (which are for the most part proven to be untampered) of Israeli snipers, tanks and soldiers firing at and killing children, unarmed civilians literally holding white flags as well as clearly marked vehicles carrying aid workers. 12.) How can you see pictures and videos of entire cities reduced to rubble and think that’s ok as a military act? 13.) Do you respect the amount of articles of the Geneva convention Israel has broken as a legitimate response to October 7th and if so at what point did these actions become justified for you? 14.) what makes terrorists worse than an army systematically committing the same atrocities on a much larger scale? 15.) Do you realise that the nations that support you are mostly doing so against the wishes of their citizens to support the war economy. (Check novaramedia for their polls they’ve reported them on most of the biggest financing countries including the Uk and US according to entirely trusted sources.) 16.) Why are Hamas so much more willing to enter negotiations and why are Israel so resistant to them. 17.) Do you think Israel should be going further? 18.) And lastly at what point is it too far for you?
P.S I am not writing this to bait anyone and my position has been formed from a standpoint that has started out pro Israeli and was neutral until late 2021. I stand with the Palestinians from a country that not only has heavily supported Israel for years but was a key part of its formation, I have formed my opinion based on the facts of what I’ve seen despite being raised entirely to the contrary. (Also my mum is currently watching a documentary on the nakba, she also now firmly supports Palestine having raised me in a household that believed in Zionism.)

I’m 26 years old, and I live in Colorado. Last year in January I was found at fault for a collision. Somebody was driving dangerously and I swerved to avoid them, lost control of the vehicle, and hit the back end of a pickup truck. We exchanged information, my vehicle was a lot more damaged, we both drove away after making a few phone calls.
I was going about 35-40 mph so around the speed limit. I hit the brakes before we collided but it wasn’t enough. His rear tail light, quarter panel, and possibly his bumper were damaged. It was a company truck and he was very nice about it, I think he works in commercial construction.
Now yesterday I get a court document handed to me at my front door letting me know I am to appear at court for mediation, they are asking a judgement of 7500 dollars, the maximum allowed by small claims court. Apparently, my insurance gave them an amount that was (according to them) 1200 dollars short of the repair cost. Additionally, the vehicle was in the repair shop for 5 months while they fixed it, which resulted in a loss of use amounting to (according to them) 7500.
I’m wondering what I should do and what is a likely outcome. I feel like their problem is with Geico. My liability covers 15,000 dollars. That should be enough to fix a fender bender. I have no say in what my insurance pays out, I have no sway with them. Also, I don’t govern repair times, shop choice, or parts availability. I’m studying to be a mechanic, I know what this stuff costs and how long it takes. Saying they need me to pay out of pocket for something that took too long due to someone else’s inconsideration is frankly ridiculous.
I have no money. I am a student and a new parent. I can barely afford groceries, my family helps me put gas in my car and feed me. I have almost no money in my checking, no savings, and my credit card is maxed out. I am waiting to start a part time apprenticeship in the fall and right now I work <20 hours per week driving Uber. I made 24,000 dollars last year. I have never possessed more than 1500 dollars at once in my life.
I’m just curious what my next steps should be and if it’s likely I will have to pay this judgement or what. Just not really sure how this process goes.

This happened months ago but I still think about it because it’s so weird.

Hey guys, I have a problem that I guess is somewhere between a table dispute and a technical question. And it may not be directly a D&D problem, but this group gives such good advice and I am most comfortable talking about social conflicts within the realm of DND.
I started playing in the late 1970s with the original three books. I’ve come and gone from the hobby over the years. I don’t really like the Forever DM label, but I’ve started the lean into it because I realize that, aside from convention games where I sign up for a session, I’m just not gonna get anybody else to DM. But that’s not my problem.
I’m also quite often the oldest player at the table. I think that in someways kind of makes me the table parent or scout leader or whatever. Because we often play at my place I got in the habit of providing snacks. Sometimes it’s just chips and salsa. Sometimes I’ll bake some oatmeal cookies or something like that.
Now over the years there have been a few times when players have had specific food allergies or religious requirements or just preferences. I’ve done my best to take that into account. I think I’m pretty good at communicating usually, that’ll be part of a session 0, or I’ll talk to an individual player if they’re joining an existing group. it’s not overboard, it’s not like I have them fill out a form or anything, but over the years I have learned to ask certain basic questions about halal, kosher, vegan, pescatarian, gluten, nuts. So I have a good handle on that. I like the challenge of working within constraints.
At one point, we had a new player join the table for my Wednesday night game. To set some context, every party has its own tone and limits. My personal limits are pretty tame so it’s not like anything really wild is happening. The Wednesday night table specifically has no PVP actions; any weird backstory or side story stuff has to be negotiated; and kind of PG-13 level of humor and interaction. No explicit sex or gory violence.
This new player joins and he shows up with a character sheet for a hex blade warlock named Warc*ck. Unless you think I am Bowdlerizing the name, that’s exactly how they spelled it — with the asterisk. And they insisted that it was pronounced “Warrick”. Keep in mind we are all in the USA but many of us are fans of UK entertainment and so we have fun with names like Worcestershire and Cockburn and so this actually was funny to me.
HEY, if you are Warc*ck or anybody in the same group, or really if anybody recognizes who I am at this point, you should stop reading because there are spoilers.
(OK now that they’re not reading I should say that there aren’t any GAME spoilers but I do I want to talk honestly about the players at my table so I feel like now it’s safe to do so)
I was nervous that this Warcck was going to be the sort of person that can really mess up the dynamics and be the center of attention, but I put it to the group, and it turned out ok. Warcck is important to the issue but let me get back to them. Also they don’t have any dietary restrictions. I asked.
So I decided that I was going to really go all out for the last session we had before breaking for the holidays. This would have been late 2022, so post pandemic. I decided to go all out for a holiday meal. I got a Kurabota ham which was amazing, fresh made mashed potatoes, gravy, a sweet potato casserole, and the obligatory green beans that nobody ever eats. It was a big hit. We made situationally appropriate toasts and told tales of battles past and it was awesome.
Obviously I couldn’t do this for all four of my weekly sessions, one of which happens at a local game store anyway, but word got around and apparently some people were a little jealous. Instead of coming to me directly, some of the players started talking amongst themselves and comparing notes, and next thing I know, I have people from the other three nights approaching me and asking me if the Wednesday group is my favorite group, and if they’ve done anything to me, and stuff like that.
We have a meta discord and it just happens to be the day before Valentine’s Day 2023. To complicate things, the group that meets at the game store includes my ex. They also play a hexblade warlock, although that’s not directly pertinent to the story, but I think it’s interesting how many people gravitate towards that. Now my ex knows that one of my secrets is, I actually gave up eating pork a decade ago. I’m worried that they’re going to bring that up as evidence of my hypocrisy, that I’m willing to sit down with my favorite table and eat a nice big old slice of ham.
Fortunately, I was able to resolve all that by talking to people.
It did come up that I was letting the Sunday matinee group use some homebrew content and the Adventurer League Tuesday table was super snarky. But that’s another post for another day.
Also my ex never brought up my pork abstinence. I feel like I could defend it if I needed to, but it just seemed like that would’ve been the last straw when we were talking about favoritism and all the other things.
But now we come to the problem.
Fast forward to December 2023, and I decided to repeat the holiday meal idea. Only this year money is a little tight and I don’t go for the Kurabota. I got a pretty good Costco ham that I’ve had success with in the past. I have a great glaze recipe that involves orange juice concentrate, brown sugar, pickle, ginger, and this amazing cherry essence that’s mostly used by candy makers so if you can’t find it any normal place see if there’s a chocolate making supply store in your city. Or Michael’s has it.

Anyway, dinner was going great and everybody was going just fine when suddenly Warc*ck stands up and starts gesturing. At first, I think they’re trying to be funny or make a toast, but pretty soon it becomes clear from the desperate look on their face and the gestures that they’re having a medical emergency. Now none of us at the table have ever done the Heimlich maneuver, but we’ve all heard of it, so we take turns scrambling around trying to get in position to do it. Eventually, they self-Heimlich on the back one of the chairs and out plops the mostly awful looking gristly wet pink chunk of Costco ham.
After a few minutes, everybody seems fine and they’re kind of joking about it, but absolutely nobody wants to pick up this chunk of ham. we make about using spells to do it, but eventually, of course it comes down to me, as the parent, to clean up the mess. So everybody leaves and I am cleaning up the mess. It makes me a little upset.
So I had a conversation over discord later and instead of talking about why everyone just bailed, Warc*ck has complaints. We should have helped sooner. There should have been more beverages on the table than just sparkling cider because sparkling cider is not great for washing down food. And most importantly, the Costco ham was not suitable. It was wet and gooey and borderline disgusting. And meanwhile, I’m thinking, you couldn’t wait to get that ham down your neck! You actually choked because you were so eager to ham into your gullet!! I was raised at beggars can’t be choosers and that if you want the expensive ham may offer to kick in next time.
Well, by now, everybody else has joined the discord, and, although it takes some coaxing, EVERY person has some complaint about the meal. II don’t know if I mentioned it, but the Wednesday table is rather large. Seven players. I will say that one thing they all agree on is that the glaze is in impeccable. Let me know if you guys want the recipe for the glaze.
We finally get partway through the conversation and Warc*ck snaps, says “pigs are intelligent and more caring that you guys!” and drops the call. And now one of the other players who barely spoke up, mentions that they too were uncomfortable with the ham. Not as pork but because it was so pink and bland and wet that it looked like fake meat. And now everybody’s chiming in with all these things that they never brought up before, and one of them even starts joking that it looks like synthetic human flesh.
Meanwhile, I’m thinking, I only did this for you guys. I don’t even eat pork most of the year. And of course did any of them demand that I make a ham? No, I’ve volunteered to do that. Was I being self indulgent? Self-destructive? I couldn’t be mad at them for a decision I made without any question.
I feel like a bad DM. I hang up the group call. I text ALL my tables that I need two weeks off.
And this brings me to the essential query for the group hive mind.
Has anybody here had luck with cooking a Costco ham in a way that gives it a drier texture? Not dedicated but less … wet? Should I just not tent it? Should I go for lower heat and longer in the oven? I used to worry that it would dry out, but this ham has such a high water content.

I’ve been going through the pain of trying to find a place to rent in the UK. I currently made an application with an estate agency in Norfolk after viewing a property, called Jones & Co Lettings but I’m seeing some red flags.

• Some reviews claim they don’t pay back deposits and forge documents.
• All their communication thus far has been riddled with spelling errors and when phoning them it sounded like their employee was in a creche or something with kids yelling in the background.
• There seems to be several different phone numbers for them.
• After completing the application they’re asking a full month’s rent in advance as a “holding deposit”, which by law may not be more than 1 week’s worth of rent. I alerted them to this but am awaiting a response.

They are a registered letting company with a presence some social media platforms (Facebook, Youtube) and I can’t find any reliable info that they’re a scam, but I don’t really want to pay them anything until I’m sure. At the same time I don’t want to lose out on this property as it’s perfect for me.
Anyone out there have any experience with these people?

He can still do whatever he wants including surfing, music, tours, probably coming and going as he wants. Since he used to live in van, he has no complaints about his closet in the garage. Likely the only thing keeping him at that house during the day is the studio and she probably isn’t in there much. He’ll be on the road soon.
He got all the freedom he had before the marriage and now a house to live in. He doesn’t care that it is a money pit because he’s not the owner. Her rich parents will foot the bills.
She got a husband and that won’t leave her. They both got what each wanted.

We are in love and are crazy about each other. But despite this I am not sure if this is a bad decision. We’ve been dating almost a year now, and spend a ton of time together. I was laid off back in January and have still been looking. I’ve been applying to full time corporate positions similar to what I was doing before nonstop and have had several interviews going all the way up to the final round, but never seem to make it all the way through. It’s been very disheartening. I plan on getting at the very least part-time retail job when my Unemployment runs out. The only reason I haven’t got one yet is that the hourly job would pay less than what my Unemployment currently is.
We have been talking about moving in together for a few months, even prior to me losing my job. I do think he thought I would have a job by now, but he has continued to be supportive. He even paid for my plane tickets home recently so I can visit my family to be at my sister’s graduation. He has also helped me with my food and groceries so I can focus on paying my rent and other bills. He has even said I can get on his insurance once mine runs out. I just have a feeling he is going to start to resent me. It’s looking like I’m not going to be able to make as much as I did before anytime soon. I’m confident I can get part-time job, but it will not be enough to help pay our rent in the high cost of living city we live in. He makes three times as much as I did, so he is very well off. He assures me he has no problem paying for the rent in its entirety until I can get something.
Our leases end in august so we have started looking at apartments now. My mom has told me to be cautious because if I rely on on him, he could take it away and ask me to leave at anytime. He has assured me he would never do this, that is in love with me and wants to marry me, but wants to see how we do together first. I’ve met all his family and friends. My lease and his lease end soon and I want to move in together, but it would be putting so much reliance on him and trusting he will catch me if I fall. The alternative is me moving back home 2000 miles away with my parents. What should I do?

I’ve been going to therapy on and off for a couple years, about a month and a half ago I decided to go back to therapy because my partner started going and brought home a dissociation chart. As I was looking at it, I realized that I’m dissociating most of the time, especially when I’m trying to be intimate with my partner. After 3 weeks and multiple dissociation assessments she thought we should try to look into this. During those 3 weeks I would go into my head and yell, scream and just be so upset and try to scream at someone to come out, to no one’s surprise nothing happened but me feeling awful. Finally after those 3 weeks I decided to go into my head and talk calmly and ask, is anyone else here? Once I began sharing with my partner and therapist more started to come out and introduce themselves, all with different ages, names, and appearances. This has been freeing but also exhausting and terrifying all in the same way. I decided to talk to my psychiatrist about this because I was finally feeling comfortable. She proceeded to tell me I don’t have DID, and said that because I have been diagnosed with OCD it’s my brain that is over doing it and creating these things. I’m basically spiraling and I just feel so awful & confused. I guess I just needed to rant somewhere, I feel so incredibly uneasy and so frustrated that I can’t understand what’s happening in my head.

There’s an argument to be made that they don’t. And they may take a similar deal that is not bad but maybe arguably not as good as what the Lakers would offer. Just not to help LeBron, that’s possible.

Been feeling down for the past couple of weeks. Seems like nothing has been going my way lately. Everything from work/school to personal relationships.
I know there’s people that are dealing with a lot worse. I have just never felt this way before, and don’t feel like I have anybody to reach out to.

Does Morph read as an accurate representation of a non-binary person?
I ask because — well, in the last episode it was suggested that Morph carried a torch for Wolverine — this despite the actor expressing a disinterest in the stereotype of a “gay man longing for their straight friend,” which can indeed be a harmful stereotype as it feeds into the dumb fear some men have about whether or not they can maintain a platonic relationship with their gay male friends.
However — Morph isn’t necessarily “gay,” as Morph is non-binary, and while one can guess that Morph may have been born a cis-man as that is how we were first introduced to them, we don’t know for certain — given Morph’s power set…
Which kinda presents an interesting question … if Morph does not feel strongly about whatever gender they are presenting, but Morph is attracted to someone who has thus far only expressed interest in women — would a non-binary person in that position decide to start presenting in a femme body? Like, I don’t care how tall I am, but if I was interested in women — who mostly prefer tall people — and I had the ability to choose my height, I would choose to be tall.
Maybe Morph is pansexual. If Morph wants to keep their options open — have a chance at attracting either gender — I would think they would go with a more androgynous/ sexy look, like a David Bowie / Ruby Rose?
But then Morph has been presenting as a person without a nose or skin pigment this season — which suggests that maybe in recent years Morph has found maintaining anything but this default noseless look to be too difficult? Like — it might take concentration to have a nose , so presenting as a sexy Bowie/Ruby would be exhausting ?
Or it might also be possible that the writers did not consider how a person might choose to present themselves if they had unlimited choices in the matter — if they aren’t just trying to fight against evil … but to get laid.

I used to weigh 130 kilograms, I managed to get down to 98 and I used to look wonderful.
Life happened and I found myself eating out of stress.
For the past year and a half I would fast, stop and fast again
I would train twice a week and then not move for two weeks
All this time when I failed I would find myself eating 3 packs of Kinder Bueno or an entire ice cream package.
Every week I want to go back to the diet and I didn't succeed, but I didn't give up.
Suddenly I understood why I fail and why I don't last with a diet (lifestyle if you will).
The word "fasting" just broke me, took the "fat" out of me every time, it just made me afraid to stop eating.
About a month ago I stepped on the scale and saw my fear come true, I was 127 kilograms again and I knew that the dreaded 130 was closer than ever and I also knew that if I didn't stop I would also see 140 and more.
You know, fasting scares me, but one thing has continued with me ever since, the last meal of the day must be as early as possible.
But I must not think that I am fasting.
And that's how I found myself counting calories (it's supposed to be 2000 a day but I hardly go over 1500) I reduced the amount of food I eat and in the evenings I don't eat out of the habit that stayed with me from the good days of under 100 kilograms.
So say I'm fasting? No I'm not fasting. Because I leave the option for this rare day that I will be hungry after 8 pm.
But the combination of stopping eating early and counting calories does me nothing but good
Right now in a month I lost 7 kilos
I exercise every day
And I feel more confident than ever that I will get back to the weight I want to reach
