Remember this? Should devs be thinking about another global hitscan nerf? Not necessarily a falloff nerf, just something to lessen the dominance of hitscan heroes, especially in ranked.
There is zero reason not to rotate Cass/Widow/Sojourn (depending on map and enemy team comp) in ranked if you have good aim. They take a quarter of the gamesense projectile heroes require and produce a ton of value.
Mei and Pharah have felt awful in ranked since hitbox changes and even the release of OW2. Mei lost a lot of agency with no freeze on her primary and she lost the headshot + bodyshot right click, so you have to double headshot to get a kill. Pharah is already hard when you play into a hitscan every game, and with the hitbox changes she now has to hit two direct hits AND an additional splash shot or her concussive blast (it should be noted this is not the case with a Mercy pocket). Even YZNSA, once a Pharah one-trick, doesn't play the hero anymore, He just goes Echo or Cass/Soj. Hanzo is just a worse hitscan.
In pro play, it's a little bit better. Echo is pretty common on KOTH and Genji gets picked somewhat often (we will see if this changes after the recent patch, I suspect he will be rare with dive looking more viable).
This has resulted in a major loss of skill expression. I know I'm quoting ancient history and players got much better, but in S1 OWL it felt like projectiles were on a similar level to hitscans. Junkrat was frequently played (even after his mine nerf he saw playtime on some maps). Pharah was a mainstay. Genji was super common. Even Hanzo saw some playtime. I want the game to have high stakes when it comes to combat and I am particularly inspired by Zero Sievert combat wise.
The thing is that I am not entirely sure what the best viewpoint would be and wanted to get some thoughts from the community. Here are the options I am looking at:
I could really use some recommendations for shooter games that make good use any of these viewpoints. And maybe from a production perspective if anyone with experience can comment on how these viewpoints affect scope.

2024.05.21 22:19 ChallengeMuch5590 DOS2 Multiplayer: Friend crashing when touching ground surfaces.
Me and my friend have played through most of divinity original sin 2 without any issues. We have amounted to about 60 hours of gameplay, however within the last 5 hours of gameplay or so he had been crashing non stop in battles. After hours of trying to fix the game we found out what was causing it. Whenever he would cast a spell on a ground with a modified surface like water, fire, electrified water, etc he would crash. So we started making sure every time it was his turn he wasn't standing on any surfaces. Now it's started crashing if he so much as touches a surface. He will also crash if any other character, including enemies, attack while standing on a surface. I am at a loss, we have tried every possible fix and don't know what is causing it. We both have really good computers and he did turn down his graphic setting which did help a little bit, but didn't fix it entirely. We have had zero issues up until now and it's really depressing so any help would be extremely appreciated.

Anything 80s/90s nostalgia i absolutely love so if you want to talk childhood and growing up back then, i’m down! I miss the good old days where we went to arcades and italian sunday dinners at the grandparents and where the world just wasn’t as nutso as it is today lol.
My kids are everything to me and I do love talking about them. Love being silly with them and spending time with them (when they aren’t driving me crazy lol)..I would prefer you be around my age and have kids as well just so we have that stuff in common off the bat! I’m socially awkward most times but very easy to get along with. I’m definitely considered an introvert. But once you get to know me I break out of that awkward shell. I do like to use sarcasm, and mostly like to try and make people laugh because a world without laughter would just be horrible.

FE6 was the first FE I played as a kid in Japan, right around the time it was first released. I remember it being really difficult at the time, and I struggled to finish it even on normal difficulty. But I also remember it being really awesome, and until this day I have always felt it was one of the best entries tot he series. I went back and played it on NSO the past couple of weeks as a much older (and slightly wiser) person, and here are some thoughts:

- I'd still consider it pretty difficult for a first timer, and I abused the hell out of the rewind option available on the NSO ver. Freaking reinforcements popping out of nowhere and insta killing your backline? What the hell. Much respect to my younger self for powering through it without killing anyone, even though I know it took a long time.
- The hit rates are a bit wack. I didn't remember how difficult it was to freaking hit people with anything other than a sword.
- I miss how OP swordmasters were. Since it was my first game I have always thought SM = OP, but in subsequent games this wasn't really true. It's game breaking and stupid, but still, I miss that.
- Roy is the most boring and useless lord in the whole series. Dude legit misses out on Ch. 21, which to this day has stuck with me as the quintessential "huge ass FE battle". Also he is so bland oof.
- Story stuff: Zephyr's motivations seemed fine for a twelve year old, but make no sense for anyone with common sense. Like, he wanted to give the world back to the dragons, but all the "real" dragons were dead except my boy Yahn and a few hiding in the desert. So the dragons he was talking about were the soulless, weaponized ones? It's kinda Thanos-y I guess but without really a plan for after, I feel. Also bro wtf are you letting your little sister just wander off to the enemies with the fucking Fire Emblem for? Like, it's literally the one thing that can fuck up your whole plan. Throw it in the fucking ocean or something - don't just leave it lying around like that... Also why is Roy totally fine with ditching his country to head out west for very vague reasons? And then he's all surprised Pikachu when it turns out to be a trap. I understand you're under the protection of the bigger country but it makes zero sense to wander out there? I dunno the story was a lot more meh than I remembered
- The soundtrack is still great imo.
- I wish Roy could romance Guinevere (also just wish she was a playable unit. Maybe in the remake.)
- The legendary weapons only having 20 durability is a crime, especially Roy's sword. I know it's supposed to be for the dragons only, but still.

I don't even know the Blue, I have zero interest in Green at most I just que up with them for dungeon runs. I have a 5500xt that needs to be warm to boot, i need to stop the fans with tape until it gets hot enough. It crashes on boot if it boots while being cold. But when it boots it works normally, until it cools down again and Windows freezes. I tried using Red BIOS Editor to enable Zero RPM, but the 5500xt isn't supported. Basically this would save the card it it always ran at 60-75c at idle with 0 rpm and enable the fans while playing a game without me having to stick some tape on the fans to make it work.

For instance, I played rdr2 and loved it. The combat made sense in that game, and if you finish the first chapter you could theoretically play the rest of the game without getting into that much trouble. Basically the game exists outside of that
(I also like portal. Haven’t finished it yet but it’s fun so far)
Otoh i played horizon: zero dawn and it had too much combat. It’s like most of the game was just fighting enemies or getting resources or something. Other examples: cuphead, god of war, any shooter game, etc.
I heard the game indika is quite good, and narrative-based. Something like that sounds nice.

So we had our baby shower 3 weeks ago and I’m just now able to post about it without becoming full of rage all over again lol.
My SIL (hubby’s sister) is extremely self absorbed. The world revolves around her, we all just exist in it. If you do things differently than her, she lacks the emotional intelligence/maturity to understand that people are different and it isn’t her place to comment or “correct”. She will find a way to make ANYTHING about herself in some way.
She has not been involved in my pregnancy at all. She has not checked in, asked how I was feeling, given advice, asked if/how she could help with anything. Not a single word or text the entirety of the pregnancy.
Which honestly, is fine. I don’t like her anyway and hearing from her would no doubt just turn into being about her in some way. However, her complete lack of effort and care gives her ZERO right to then try to take over things with the baby shower, which was hosted by my amazing mother who had everything under control and who sunk a ton of time and money into planning a really special baby shower.
My SIL decided to confront me just days before the shower about my decision on not playing games. She said that people really enjoy playing games and like to see it, so we really should do so because people (meaning herself) would be disappointed with the shower if we didn’t. This threw me into a rage spiral because… the freaking audacity. To tell me what to do, days before the shower, when it’s absolutely none of her business and not about what she wants. My response to her was very short and direct and I made it clear we’d be doing things the way we wanted.
Then the day of the shower. Apparently the decor my mother was doing (minimal, because I don’t care about elaborate decor at a baby shower - especially outdoors like ours was) wasn’t good enough. SIL took it upon herself to essentially take over decorating. Which in theory sounds like a nice gesture. Except she’s extremely bossy and when she took over, she was rushing and was apparently in a bad mood from rushing where she stressed everyone else out and started commanding them on how to help her.
Why the need for the decor that WE didn’t care about or ask for? Why the need to rush around and stress/sour the mood? She took it upon herself so that she could get some pat on the back and make it about herself. And the decor was lovely, it looked great, but it was unnecessary and at the cost of her taking over and stressing other people out, it wasn’t worth it. My mother had it under control, and I think she felt a little hurt that her plans weren’t “good enough” for my SIL.
I’m just so irritated and tired of dealing with this kind of crap from my in-laws. My hubby totally understands and agrees with my frustrations and he’ll say things when he needs to, but honestly, I mostly tell him not to bother because his sister and mother completely lack the ability to step back and think about their actions, so it just turns into more unwanted drama.
Anyone else who can commiserate with similar experiences? Thanks for reading all of my pregnant rage word vomit lol.

2024.05.21 21:20 Deanster12317 Opinion: Lego Hunting in Endless is Painfully Tedious
Title! I've been playing this game for less than a week and I am absolutely loving it. I played an ungodly amount of hours the first couple of days, got an amazing Manaphy from an egg (Bouncy Bubble+Tail Glow is a super sweeper, especially coupled with Simple passive), and walloped my way to Mr. E-Max himself and beat Classic. Now I'm just hunting legendaries in Endless and I'm already groaning at how obnoxious it is at wave 600+.
I keep having legendary encounters where my ONLY solution to not one-tapping the stupid thing (no matter what legendary/mythic/UB I'm trying to catch) is to force it into struggle. Full-on PP stalling it to death bc it has 6 Lum Berries AND ZERO DEFENSIVE STATS. EVERYTHING IS MADE OF GLASS EXCEPT MY DAMNED MANAPHY AND HISUIAN GOODRA. Nothing can survive more than a hit, maybe two, from literally anything except my support Dedenne equipped with nothing but low BP status moves like Nuzzle and Sizzly Slide. My best hope is to Parting Shot its stats to -6 and wait for it to burn itself out swinging wet noodles at me.
I'm really enjoying the game but trying to catch anything like a legendary with any consistency past wave 300 feels like pulling your own damned teeth. Sure, you could pull your own teeth out, it's perfectly possible, but it's going to take a long time and it's not going to feel good to do and it won't be very satisfying when you're done.
The worst parts about this are: 1. I know I'm nowhere near the insane wave/encounter numbers many of you have posted about on here (wave 3k??? ARE YOU ALL MASOCHISTS???) and I'm already starting to loathe pushing further and further in Endless runs. 2. Legendaries don't pop up early at all, which means that if I want anything other than a Mewtwo (WHY IS THIS DONKEY BACK AS THE FEATURED POKEMON ON THE LEGENDARY GACHA BTW??? SHOW ME SOMETHING ELSE FOR GOD'S SAKE I DON'T WANT TO SEE MEWTWO FEATURED FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE THE FOURTH TIME THIS WEEK). And, lastly, 3. The lack of control over Endless runs means I basically have to just throw my hands up and pray I encounter something that I actually want. No mapping my route, no consistency for how long I actually remain where I want to be, and no chance I can even risk hitting it without killing it (boss or otherwise) unless it's Ting-Lu or some other defensive powerhouse.
Is there something I can do to boost my catch rate? More safely whittle down hp? Stat-reducing and pp stalling seem to be the only effective means for me to consistently catch anything that isn't a highly defensive legendary. Am I doing something wrong here? Do I need to figure out a different strategy? Have I missed picking up the Map in every Endless run so far? Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I the lone whiner here? I love the game but hundreds of waves and 30 minutes of stat-dumping just to catch one worthless Articuno feels terrible. 100+ Rogue/Ultra balls to maybe get a frozen rotisserie chicken I'll never take out of the box is not my idea of a good time.

Full-on PP stalling it to death bc it has 6 Lum Berries AND ZERO DEFENSIVE STATS. EVERYTHING IS MADE OF GLASS EXCEPT MY DAMNED MANAPHY AND HISUIAN GOODRA. Nothing can survive more than a hit, maybe two, from literally anything except my support Dedenne equipped with nothing but low BP status moves like Nuzzle and Sizzly Slide. My best hope is to Parting Shot its stats to -6 and wait for it to burn itself out swinging wet noodles at me.
I'm really enjoying the game but trying to catch anything like a legendary with any consistency past wave 300 feels like pulling your own damned teeth. Sure, you could pull your own teeth out, it's perfectly possible, but it's going to take a long time and it's not going to feel good to do and it won't be very satisfying when you're done.
The worst parts about this are: 1. I know I'm nowhere near the insane wave/encounter numbers many of you have posted about on here (wave 3k??? ARE YOU ALL MASOCHISTS???) and I'm already starting to loathe pushing further and further in Endless runs. 2. Legendaries don't pop up early at all, which means that if I want anything other than a Mewtwo (WHY IS THIS DONKEY BACK AS THE FEATURED POKEMON ON THE LEGENDARY GACHA BTW??? SHOW ME SOMETHING ELSE FOR GOD'S SAKE I DON'T WANT TO SEE MEWTWO FEATURED FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE THE FOURTH TIME THIS WEEK). And, lastly, 3. The lack of control over Endless runs means I basically have to just throw my hands up and pray I encounter something that I actually want. No mapping my route, no consistency for how long I actually remain where I want to be, and no chance I can even risk hitting it without killing it (boss or otherwise) unless it's Ting-Lu or some other defensive powerhouse.
Is there something I can do to boost my catch rate? More safely whittle down hp? Stat-reducing and pp stalling seem to be the only effective means for me to consistently catch anything that isn't a highly defensive legendary. Am I doing something wrong here? Do I need to figure out a different strategy? Have I missed picking up the Map in every Endless run so far? Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I the lone whiner here? I love the game but hundreds of waves and 30 minutes of stat-dumping just to catch one worthless Articuno feels terrible. 100+ Rogue/Ultra balls to maybe get a frozen rotisserie chicken I'll never take out of the box is not my idea of a good time.
