2024.05.21 14:49 coolbrze77 A glimmer of hope for the retailhell landacape in NY
After working the last 4 yrs on the front end of a supermarket seeing society and the job devolve before my eyes I read we are getting a little help from the state, finally. The NY FY2025 budget was approved and includes:
The FY25 State Budget includes a five-point plan to fight organized retail theft:
Bolstering criminal penalties for anyone who assaults a retail worker by elevating it from a misdemeanor to felony. Any person who causes physical injury to a retail worker performing their job will be subject to this new felony.
Allowing prosecutors to combine the value of stolen goods when they file larceny charges. The Budget allows retail goods from different stores to be aggregated for the purposes of reaching a higher larceny threshold when stolen under the same criminal scheme.
Making it illegal to foster the sale of stolen goods to go after third-party sellers. A person will be found guilty if they use any website or physical location to sell stolen goods.
$40.2 million for dedicated Retail Theft Teams within State Police, District Attorneys’ offices and local law enforcement, including 100 New York State Police personnel dedicated to fighting organized retail theft.
$5 million tax credit to help small businesses invest in added security measures such as cameras. To help alleviate the burden on small businesses for additional security measures, the Budget creates a $3,000 tax credit for any small businesses who spends the threshold amount of money on retail theft prevention measures.

2024.05.21 14:43 TEchfygeeks Explain keywords in Digital marketing?
| https://preview.redd.it/vb4hn8pbzr1d1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=1d5844eafeecc24742f356f63bf0ee4537730a2f In the vast and ever-evolving realm of digital marketing, keywords stand out as one of the most fundamental and crucial elements. They are the linchpins that connect content creators, businesses, and audiences, facilitating effective communication and interaction in the digital space. This blog delves into the intricacies of keywords, explaining their significance, types, and best practices in the context of digital marketing. What Are Keywords? Keywords are words or phrases that users enter into search engines to find information, products, or services. In digital marketing, they play a pivotal role in search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, content marketing, and more. Essentially, keywords act as a bridge between what people are searching for and the content provided to meet those searches. The Importance of Keywords in Digital Marketing - Visibility and Ranking: Keywords are instrumental in determining the visibility of a website on search engine results pages (SERPs). Search engines like Google use algorithms that consider keyword relevance to rank pages. By optimizing content with appropriate keywords, businesses can improve their search engine rankings, driving organic traffic to their websites.
- Targeted Traffic: Effective keyword usage helps attract a specific audience. By focusing on keywords relevant to their niche or industry, businesses can draw visitors who are genuinely interested in their offerings, leading to higher engagement and conversion rates.
- Understanding Audience Intent: Keywords provide insights into what potential customers are looking for. By analyzing keyword trends and search queries, businesses can better understand consumer behavior, preferences, and pain points, allowing them to tailor their marketing strategies accordingly.
- Competitive Advantage: Strategic keyword research can reveal what competitors are focusing on. This information can help businesses identify gaps in the market, uncover new opportunities, and differentiate themselves from competitors.
Types of Keywords - Short-Tail Keywords: Also known as head keywords, these are usually one or two words long (e.g., "shoes"). They have high search volumes but are highly competitive and less specific.
- Long-Tail Keywords: These are longer, more specific phrases (e.g., "best running shoes for women"). Although they have lower search volumes, they attract more targeted traffic and have higher conversion rates due to their specificity.
- Branded Keywords: Keywords that include a brand's name (e.g., "Nike running shoes"). These are used by people who are already aware of the brand and are looking for specific products or information related to it.
- Non-Branded Keywords: Keywords that do not include any brand names (e.g., "running shoes"). These are crucial for attracting new customers who may not yet be familiar with the brand.
- Geo-Targeted Keywords: Keywords that include location-specific terms (e.g., "best pizza in New York"). These are essential for local SEO and targeting audiences in specific geographic areas.
- LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) Keywords: These are related terms or phrases that search engines use to understand the context of content (e.g., "buy," "purchase," and "shop" are LSI keywords for "shopping"). Including LSI keywords helps improve content relevance and search engine rankings.
Keyword Research and Best Practices - Identify Goals: Start by defining your marketing objectives. Are you looking to increase website traffic, boost sales, or enhance brand awareness? Your goals will influence your keyword strategy.
- Use Keyword Research Tools: Tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Moz can help identify relevant keywords, analyze search volumes, and assess competition. These tools provide valuable data to inform your keyword choices.
- Analyze Competitors: Study your competitors' websites and the keywords they are targeting. This can provide insights into what works in your industry and help you identify gaps or opportunities.
- Focus on Relevance: Ensure the keywords you choose are highly relevant to your content and audience. Irrelevant keywords may attract traffic, but it won't be useful if visitors don't find what they're looking for.
- Balance Short-Tail and Long-Tail Keywords: Use a mix of both to capture a broader audience while also targeting specific, high-intent searches. Long-tail keywords, in particular, can help you reach niche segments of your audience.
- Incorporate Keywords Naturally: Avoid keyword stuffing, which can lead to penalties from search engines. Instead, integrate keywords seamlessly into your content, including headings, subheadings, meta descriptions, and alt text for images.
- Monitor and Adapt: Regularly track the performance of your keywords using analytics tools. Adjust your strategy based on what’s working and what’s not, keeping up with changes in search algorithms and market trends.
Conclusion Keywords are the backbone of digital marketing, driving search engine optimization, content creation, and advertising strategies. By understanding the different types of keywords and how to effectively research and utilize them, businesses can enhance their online visibility, attract targeted traffic, and ultimately achieve their marketing goals. Staying informed about keyword trends and continuously refining your approach will help you maintain a competitive edge in the dynamic digital landscape. For those looking to deepen their knowledge and skills, an online digital marketing course can provide comprehensive insights into effective keyword strategies and the latest industry practices, ensuring you stay ahead in the ever-evolving world of digital marketing. submitted by TEchfygeeks to u/TEchfygeeks [link] [comments] |
2024.05.21 14:40 psychobabbler27 Mad Max Sale at Amazon
Amazon are having a sale on select Max Max releases on 4K. The best deal is for the 4-Film Anthology which drops down to $39.99, while individual releases drop to $14.99 each. I do have a feeling Gruv will have their own sale, if you want to wait and see, though they may not ship as quickly if you want to get them in anticipation of the upcoming Furiosa movie.
Mad Max Sale Mad Max 4-Film Anthology 4K Collection - $39.99
Max Max 2: The Road Warrior 4K - $14.99
Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome 4K- $14.99
Mad Max: Fury Road 4K - $14.99
Note: The Anthology and Mad Max 2 releases are the
corrected versions. When the set first came out in 2021, Mad Max 2's DTS 2.0 and 5.1 tracks were downmixes of the Atmos track. They're now the correct theatrical audio mixes for both the set, and the individual release. The individual release for Beyond Thunderdome does have original theatrical audio, but it's not lossless like in the new Anthology set.
Also for anyone wondering, the original 1979 film was released by Kino, so there's no matching individual release for it here. The only other way to get it on 4K is to get the Anthology set.

2024.05.21 14:37 shoddydoodle MSI MP251 - Is it really 8 bit or with FRC?
I'm not up-to-date with PCs and monitor technology these days, but is this monitor what it claims? Is it one with what they call FRC -- if yes, would that be noticeable for casual users like office work, internet/email, YouTube, Netflix... I don't really game on PC. Will the said 100hz help for other tasks, idk.
I'm looking for an affordable monitor 22-24" for my ThinkPad desktop docking setup. My current 22" AOC (almost 15 years old!) developed dead pixels practically all around - starting age 5-6. I wish they lasted like the CRTs of yesteryear did, sigh (ik, tall order, since everything is getting cheaper relative to inflation).
I live in a developing country and even cheap models are pretty expensive thanks to always-at-MRP or above sales prices (no discounts on branded hardware, actually a premium) plus additional import and sales taxes.
My choices had been Dell S2421HN or BenQ GW2480 (has speakers).
But just came across this MSI Pro MP251 for a decent enough price I just found (plus larger by about 0.7 inches, speakers, VESA mount compatible, There's this maybe Xiaomi Mi 1C - looks good but no VESA.
Also found another, MSI MP223, but it says VA panel so idk abt that... Lived with TN panel for years and I'd prefer decent viewing angles this time around.

2024.05.21 14:29 Marqeting How Much Creative Freedom Should Brands Give to Influencers
In a market occupied with brands using influencer marketing, the question of creative freedom pops up. Influencer marketing has evolved into an effective strategy, providing brands with a great ROI at a comparatively lower cost than traditional marketing efforts. According to a report, marketers earn an average of $5.78 in revenue for each $1 invested in influencer marketing, with some brands earning as much as $18 per dollar invested.
Given these impressive returns, it’s essential for brands to strike the right balance between guiding influencers and allowing them creative freedom. Influencers know their audience best and can create content that relates more authentically. Therefore, brands should provide clear guidelines and key messaging points while allowing influencers the flexibility to present the content in their unique style. This approach ensures that the content feels genuine and engages the audience effectively, driving better results.
Because influencer marketing has proven favorable for many marketers, the question now focuses on how to execute influencer campaigns effectively. In the quest for content, some brands are taking away influencers’ creative freedom. Today’s consumers can easily discern between authentic branded content and content that feels overly promotional or scripted. They don’t hesitate to criticize brand endorsements or sponsorships that don’t align with their preferences. To avoid negative criticism, marketers should allow participating influencers to create content according to their own creativity. After all, who knows their audience better than the influencers who have built it through dedicated efforts?
In this article, we will discuss how brands can maintain a balance between providing content guidelines and allowing influencers the freedom to create content.
How Much Content Freedom Should Brands Allow Their Influencers? When it comes to influencer marketing and creative freedom, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. For established brands with a strong identity, stricter control might be necessary to maintain brand consistency. New brands, on the other hand, might benefit from the fresh perspective and creative freedom offered by influencers. Whether you are an established brand or a new one, adapting your approach based on the situation is crucial for success.
Drafting one content brief and sharing it with dozens of creators is not effective. Instead, creating personalized content briefs after analyzing each influencer’s profile is a better approach. With so many brands using influencers, generic, scripted content gets lost on social media platforms. Creative freedom allows influencers to create raw and engaging content that stands out, gaining traction and making your brand memorable.
1. Share clear and concise guidelines Although brands should provide creative freedom to their influencers, they should not miss any mark in communicating their own brand mission, value or any necessary content creation guideline. Mention your campaign goals (brand awareness, sales), target audience, and key messaging points. Be clear about what you want the influencer to achieve, but leave room for them to express their creativity in how they do it.
2. During the Campaign Work closely with the influencer during the content creation process. Both the brand and the influencer benefit from mutual discussions, idea exchanges, and suggestions, while respecting each other’s creative vision. Share all relevant product information and brand assets with the influencer. Excellent customer support goes a long way in building long-term, profitable relationships. In return, influencers can create high-quality content that accurately reflects your product.
When it comes to influencer marketing, brands should accept trendy content suggestions from influencers. Tying your brand message to a trending topic in a clever or relevant way can initiate conversations and increase engagement. Participating in trends shows that your brand is aware of current events and pop culture, making you appear more relatable and approachable to your target audience.
3. Content Approval Process The goal of the content approval process is to maintain transparency and ensure the influencer’s content aligns well with the brand’s guidelines. Remember, the idea is not to micromanage the creative execution of the influencers. Be open to the influencer’s creative approach, but be firm on any aspects that violate your brand guidelines or could potentially damage your brand image.
Wrapping Up As consumers love raw and trustworthy recommendations, marketers should step into influencers’ shoes and give them the autonomy to create engaging content while maintaining a balance with creative briefs and guidelines. Influencers who achieve good engagement insights on their content tend to do so through transparency and fruitful discussions with the brand.
Also, contact
Marqeting to know how they can help scale your brand through influencer marketing campaigns that convert.

2024.05.21 14:23 TurquoiseOrange The hot girl gets the guy then dumps him because he won't give her space, the shy girl shaves her head and goes to the school dance, the happy couple accidentally get pregnant and keep the baby and get married. Cathy, Johny, Mark...
I've posted about this book series once before but I'm trying again.
There were approximately 5-6 teenage friends, pretty sure in the USA, high school age, more than 3 books, all learning lessons and having ordinary teen dramas, I'm not sure when the book was set but it's in a time when school dances already exist but getting married really young just because you're pregnant hasn't fallen out of fashion (due to cultural differences I don't know when this might be). There must be a 100 books like it. I got the set for free at a car boot sale in the UK in about 2005 and they looked pretty battered, some sort of bright cartoonish drawings of the characters on the front.
The main characteit girl of the group I can't remember her name, but she has a best friend who I'm almost certain is called Cathy. There at least two other central characters, they are in true love. Somone is call Mark, it's either the happy-couple male or Cathy's crush or another friend.
The it girl likes a hot boy, and eventually they do get together, I think his name might be Johny. Johny is a bit of a bad boy, an eventually this becomes uncool for his it girl gf because turns out she can't hang out EVERY DAY and she wants to get some homework done. It's part of a 'standing up for yourself' and not letting other people define who you are kind of arc, neither of them is bad their relationship just isn't perfect or long lasting just because they're 16 and hot.
Cathy has a crush, I can't remember who he is but they don't get together. She has a whole arc about being a push over. Cathy eventually shaves her head to prove she's super bad ass and doesn't need any of their approval, everyone is super impressed. There's this whole elaborate scene where her best friend adorns her with scarves and sparkley jewellery to femme up her bad ass look for the school dance and everyone agrees it goes well.
The happy couple pair have some complex stuff going on, then in the final book the young woman is pregnant and they end up getting married and moving into one of the parent's houses in a modified apartment, and it's seen as an amazing solution. I'm not certain if they get married in secret before the parents find out.
Oh god what else can I add, I really don't know. Fingers crossed.

2024.05.21 14:21 TearRepresentative56 Key Fundamental points I'm considering with NVDA earnings - Supports the bullish thesis. & positioning Update.
- Increased Capex by CSPs:
- META, GOOGL, and AMZN have all increased the midpoint of their capital expenditures (capex), which is a direct response to the growing demand for AI data centers.
- This increase in capex signals higher investments in infrastructure to support AI workloads, benefiting companies like NVIDIA that supply the necessary hardware, such as GPUs.
- CoreWeave's Investment:
- Even smaller players like CoreWeave are significantly increasing their investments, planning to double their spend over the next 6-12 months to approximately $7.5 billion. This reinforces the trend of rising demand across the industry.
- Supply Chain Capacity:
- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has almost doubled its capacity, specifically to support the rollout of NVIDIA’s Grace Hopper and to prepare for the upcoming Blackwell GPUs.
- This capacity increase is crucial to meet the rising demand from CSPs and other tech companies investing heavily in AI infrastructure.
- Demand and Supply Dynamics:
- The demand story and backlog for AI-related hardware is well understood, indicating a strong market appetite for NVIDIA’s products.
- The primary concern now shifts to the supply side—whether there are enough chips to meet this demand. TSMC’s capacity expansion suggests that supply constraints are being addressed.
- Market Implications:
- The increased capex from major CSPs and the ability of TSMC to scale production should directly benefit NVIDIA. As these companies ramp up their AI capabilities, NVIDIA stands to gain from higher sales of its GPUs.
- The strategic investments by both large and smaller companies indicate a robust and growing market for AI infrastructure, positioning NVIDIA favorably.
In conclusion, the confluence of increased capex by major tech companies, expanded production capacity at TSMC, and a clear demand for AI infrastructure all point to a positive outlook for NVIDIA.
This supports the positioning analysis which points to bullish positioning ITM and OTM, and skew also points higher. Most of the indicators seem to pointto NVDA to jump on earnings, but ultimately, let's see.

2024.05.21 14:20 Ecstatic-Divide7281 Husband secretly messaging femboys / trans women
I'm really tired and know that however I explain this I'll get people saying he's gay or I'm dumb, but please try to be careful as I'm at an sensitive state with various things going on in my life so would appreciate kindness if possible.
My info: 36(f), husband 36(m). My husband has always acted very caring and loving with me. Always seemed to enjoy sex and been turned on by me, compliments me and always trying to touch me in bed etc. So I've never felt undesired or that he wasn't attracted to me as a woman. He also shows attraction to other women eg on TV / I've noticed him side glance at attractive women, not men though.
Anyway here's the timeline of events: - met in 2010 when we were both 22, summer romance fell head over heels. During this time saw a message on his phone when he'd gotten out of bed and was curious if he messaged family/had many friends so glanced at his text message list - 3rd most recent was a couple weeks before we met arranging a hookup with a guy but he bailed out last minute, no further communication. This shocked me but I've always been open to bisexual people and was very promiscuous with men before I met him so I didn't see it was my business. Also I was ashamed for looking at his phone.
- after 4 years living together, he was at work and I was trying to log into my emails on the TV browser - his was already logged in and I saw a read email from Craigslist. I opened it for some reason and saw he was arranging a hookup with a man on Craigslist whilst I was away visiting family. Words included 'while my gf is away'. The other person cancelled the meetup in the next responses. Another ad he'd messaged (but received no reply) was to a trans woman. I sat frozen for hours and confronted him when he got home. He said he'd been really drunk and it really turned him on to imagine hooking up with a guy but would never have followed through with it. I argued the other person cancelled but he was adamant he could have never have done it and was so ashamed when he woke up the next day. After weeks of going over it I eventually decided to forgive him as I can understand being really drunk and making a mistake as I myself have almost led people on whilst being drunk on a night out before admitting I'm not single. I did it for attention and it was stupid.
- after another 2 years I became curious if he'd done anything like that since and looked in his phone when he wasn't in the room. I knew it was wrong but I guess I knew something must have happened since. I found another ad on Craigslist arranging a 'mutual wank' but didn't see any replies or any further messages. I confronted him about it and again he said he just gets really turned on at the idea and messaging someone but would never follow through. I felt completely depressed for a while but I forgave again and we discussed sexual desires etc and he said he would really enjoy anal penetration (me doing it to him) so after a few months when I felt ready we did this a few times and he absolutely loved it.
- after another 3 years we've now got 3 children (one plus twins) and unfortunately haven't done anal since pre children and then recently I started getting curious again and I checked his password manager on Google to see if I noticed anything strange. I found Kik account and noted the password and logged in on my phone (I couldn't find the app on his). It says account was created 2.5 years ago and I can see 2 contacts, one is a guy and another is a "femboy" who is also on Instagram and only fans. There's no chat history because Kik doesn't save it when you log in elsewhere.
End of timeline
Anyway I'm not against him having kinks or being attracted to trans women or fem boys. In fact I find it endearing that he appreciates femininity on different people and I've always been put off by guys that get offended or grossed out by anything gay or queer. I think he may be ashamed as he may not think anyone would accept it etc so trying to hide his attraction/preferences. I've always tried to show I'm open but he's never admitted his attractions.
The thing that upsets me is the messaging. If he was messaging other women I don't think I could have forgiven it. Or at least I'd never get past it For some reason because it's men/ trans women I see it differently and not affecting me, I don't know why.
I don't want to upset him as I don't think I can fulfill him fully sexually so I guess the only answer is he never acts on it or we have an open marriage. I don't know whether I'd be ok with an open marriage, maybe I'd be ok with only messaging as long as it wasn't secret (I wouldn't need to read the messages but would at least want to know if he still engages in general).
Is this all mad or are there other relationships like this, or am I a complete fool? I am obviously not trusting of him anymore if I keep checking his phone so I think this is a big issue in the relationship first of all.
(I do see trans women as women but I have a feeling he is interested 'because' they are trans in a kink way which I'm not sure if this is common but maybe these women are ok with men seeking out for these reasons I'm not sure)

2024.05.21 14:19 retronaco Overactive bladder
On may 9th I started to have to go to the washroom more frequently I noticed that I had to go roughly every hour… I started feeling back pain on my right side more of a pressure pain. I initially thought I may be getting a kidney stone and boy was I wrong! I’m going to tell you guys my experience and how crazy this has been… here’s a little context. I am currently going through a divorce (which was my own doing), financially I am tight as I have to uphold two mortgages one being my own and other being portion of a rental property I own. However the rental property is not a positive cash flow atm due to high interest rates. A lot has happened in May. I had to buy a new dryer as my drying machine just went, also a new microwave (over stove). I work in sales and with high interest everyone is so tight with money and people aren’t spending nearly as much as they were a year ago. I could go on about more but no need. So may 9th it began, all day that day I had to constantly go to washroom almost every hour, I smoked some weed and went to bed. That night I ended up wetting myself a little overnight (this was a first) I panicked and snapped out of it however the next few days I would continue to have back pain and constantly peeing, unfortunately I started doing some google reading on this and I had pre determined myself that maybe I had a kidney stone and just needed to drink more fluids and try to get better. It went on until Wednesday may 15th at this stage my lower back pain had increased and I started noticing pain in my abdomen area also. I went to doctors and did some sampling. They found microscopic blood in my urine but weren’t sure what it could be and sent it in for further testing on top of that in Canada the long weekend was coming which typically means you won’t get lab results until mid next week (this week). Now this continued as I was freaking out about blood in my urine and more googling which made things worse… Friday May 17th comes around. At this stage I was extremely worried and was going to washroom every 30 mins until night time. Night time was horrible (I don’t wish this on my worst enemy) at night time while trying to go to sleep I started to go to washroom every 5-10mins and shortly after around 1AM Saturday I couldn’t get off toilet the back pain had increased and abdomen pain had increased. It left like my bladder was just squeezing everything out! I panicked further! I spiralled and broke down, I went to the hospital. Once I got to hospital and told them my symptoms they believed I was passing a kidney stone but they wanted to confirm and do a CT scan, blood work, and a urine sample. Few hours later my results were in… everything was fine. The doctor said he was not sure exactly what was happening but thinks I have something called “interstitial cystitis” however said I should speak to my family doctor and see a urologist. This is where I started doing more research as I couldn’t take going to washroom so much… I came across urinary frequency and one of the causes was anxiety and stress… I’ve always told my self that I have never had anxiety and never have experienced it. On google I came across a Reddit and it was someone who has experienced similar things and it turned out to be just anxiety. Currently as I am typing this I am improving quite a bit I no longer have to go every 5-10 mins. I go roughly every 2 hours. I am still in recovery as I do have moments where I need to go within 20 mins of just going to the washroom. However I have not taken any medicine I have slowly learned to accept things and get better and this has helped a lot with my anxiety. I have learned that somethings I cannot control but everything will be ok. I started to keep busy (deep clean the house, do all laundry, cooking, lawn work) and that really helped grounding me. Also one thing that helped me is start to relieving some weight. I’ve had weight on my shoulders about leaving my wife so I apologized to her last night saying that I am sorry for making her feel like her world is getting destroyed as we have a child which we will have to share custody. I also am writing this to get better. Please know guys if you are going through this it will all be ok! You have to overcome what is bothering you and accept it. The mind is very powerful, we can make ourselves sick even when we aren’t. I’m sure this isn’t my last time with this but I hope my experience helps you! And know you will be ok.

2024.05.21 14:13 Upbeat_Volume_2163 how to deal with customer complaining about prices on social media
So basically this customer post on her social media complaining that prices are way too high and she commented 'Can this store really get any business/customers?'. Ehhhh...
She was upset because last year she paid $10 to me, now the wholesale supplier retails for $5.5. But things were different back in 2021-2023, there was no supplier in the country. The product either can't be found in other stores or others don't have lots of stock. I imported from Europe myself. I took risk of the shipping, customs clearance, inventory and etc. My cost was like $5-6. Now wholesale came in market, the prices have shrunk to $5. Sigh..then she also mentioned another product which she have not even purchased from me, now she bought & shipped it from Japan which cost her $20, she complained about me selling too high($40). My cost was like $25, i think the profit was reasonable. Until now, no supplier of this product exists in the country.
Idk why she post something like this after a year of no purchase. And you can imagine that some customers followed her to talk about my store, my prices, like I forced them to buy? Some of them who commented also have not purchased in a long time. I don't want that online post brings any bad influence to the store. Now i'm starting to have a hard time to get more sales becos of wholesale so i already decreased prices to get rid of inventory. Should i respond or what should i do if i encounter this kind of situation in the future? Is it that they are just not the customers for my business? or any other advice for my business? Thanks in advance!
