2024.05.19 20:20 YyMilk I'm tired of HoM meta. Ninja Kiwi please do something about this ;(

The last 13 games I played were against Fadora/Star Cap Jericho Tack/Dart Mortar Farm. There are few more meta loadouts but overall everything stays the same. I just wish we could see more loadouts that don't include Banana Farm and are capable of rushing, forcing defence to make the game more dynamic. I believe the main problem the current balancing has is that meta Eco loadouts nowadays are focused on going super late rounds without ever attacking your opponent and meta Banana Farm strategies are made to be super aggro (there are few exceptions). I really wish the game was more in the middle where we can see more room for experimenting. My solution for this was already presented - Rushes (or only MOAB rushes (maybe even without B.A.D included)) should be cheaper but the more you send at once the more expensive rushing gets for limited time, that way people will be encouraged to rush smaller but more often to force defence while still being able to send big, game ending Bloon attacks. Also eco loss from MOAB sends should be halved or reduced to 2/3. Lastly I just wanted to say that we NEED more balance changes per update, because with only 22 towers the meta becomes stale fast. What's your opinion about current balancing? Correct me if my ideas are bad. :)

Hi all, im currently building a $250 budget build and am looking for advice on which gpu to pick. I have a i5 4590 non K and will be running games that shouldnt be too graphics intensive like bloons, modded minecraft, or sims. My overall budget for the gpu is $100 but not sure on which card to go with.
As ive seen on the used market i can get a rx 580 8gb for $70, a 1070 for $90 or a 1660 super 6gb for $100.
I dont want to over buy if there will be too great of a bottleneck
Any advice is appreciated!

I composed a list of ideas that Etienne can potentially be used in to introduce new stratagies that have previously been impossible to use. His ability to give camo and negate bloon immunties opens up so much potential, but mostly for lategame stratagies.
Note: If you place Etienne on round 1, then at the start of round 12, his level 8 will cost $4,280. This is $1330 more than a 0-2-0 village. This is because he presumably levels up at the same speed as Quincy, just like in BTD6. It also looks like he either starts off with 2 drones instead of just 1, or gets another drone at level 2.
Also, his scouting ability is likely to be at level 4 judging by how he has it on round 6 in the update video.
Towers most affected by Etienne:
Tack - Can now solo rounds with Ring of Fire with no need for camo or purple popping power. Tack Glue Super is likely to become meta.
Bomb- Top path no longer needs bottom path to hit blacks, + can solo the rounds on its own due to not needing camo.
Boomer- Can solo rounds all on its own with no need for camo.
Ice- No more camo and white immunity allows 0-1-4 ice or ice shards + Artic Wind to be used as solo round 11-17 defense.
Glue- Opens up Glue to be used in numerous stratagies that it couldn’t otherwise fit in due to lack of camo. Particularly with towers like Druid, Super, Boat, and Tack.
Boat? - May not be strong enough to defend bloons on its own, but perhaps a 2-4-0 could do good enough? Most likely too expensive/weak though. May also do well with glue.
Super- One of the most impacted by this change. It can now be paired with glue in so many new stratagies to preform incredibly well lategame, such as Druid-Glue-Super.
Druid- No need for camo or purple popping power means that you can potentially use a 4-0-2 druid to solo the rounds with, as well as allowing for Druid to be used with more supporting towers such as glue. Druid-Spac-Farm may also become viable.
Engi- Can now be used as a solo tower for the early rounds since you no longer have to rely on its garbage camo detection. Sentry Expert is also no longer blocked by zebras, purples, or leads.

Otherwise I do play some other games such as Roblox, Bloons, and sometimes Nintendo ones. I'm not the computer nerd type of autistic, the good at math type of autistic, or the cute and socially quirky type of autistic. I'm the "will excitedly tell you all the habitats an animal lives in by comparing ecoregion and range maps" type of autistic, and wouldn't have it any other way!
Now, to not waste anybody's time, here's some important compatibility points. I have depression and diagnosed anxiety on top of some physical stuff, so I do best with people who are more chillaxed and can mesh with me not always being super high energy. I lean towards being childfree and don't see myself being in the position to care for crotch goblins. I'm fully monogamous. I date seriously. My love languages are quality time and words of affirmation. And lastly, despite being demisexual, I do have a high drive.

Long read.
I was just messing around with godboosted towers. Then the so-called worst T5 in the game started to perform significantly better than I expected.
After taking it into challenge editor, it got to round 210, higher than some degree 100 paragons...
Everyone knows in 36.0, megalodon was the most broken tower to ever exist. Then 36.1 nerfed it into the ground and everyone forgot about it. However, when people tried to buff it to a usable point, top and middle path beast handlers couldn't benefit from attack speed buffs in 36.1, this feature was only added in 37.0, when most people already labeled this tower as garbage.
Interestingly enough, godboosted megalodon actually surpasses pre-bugfix megalodon.
Pre bugfix meg: 225k per bite
Godboosted post bugfix meg: 226k per bite lmao
This single target compeltely shreds BADs (round 200 was completely destroyed), but the first problem that comes to mind with megalodon freeplay is catching leaks. However, this surprisingly isn't really an issue.
Since godboosted meg has such ridiculous attack speed, combined with the AOE of the thrash, it can actually clean up DDTs and cerams while latched onto other bloons. Even if it pops the MOABs around it while thrashing, the AOE is enough to instantly destroy those as well.
Not only that, some other buffs that were completely overlooked by the majority of the playerbase actually means the megalodon has much stronger freeplay potential than originally thought.
Recently, in just 41.0, meg's instakills were reworked slightly. At launch, megalodon was completely worthless in freeplay not only because it couldn't instakill BADs past 150, but also because round 200 ZOMGs are tanky af, but not tanky enough to past the RBE threshold for instakilling. This meant that meg targeting a ZOMG completely wasted the damage, since it took forever to actually instakill the ZOMG due to its health. In 41.0, Non-BADs have a max drag time of 6s. Any ZOMG will take at max 6s to instakill, even at round 1000.
In this same update, meg was given more powerful moab knockback. This was completely irrelevant with a vanilla megalodon, but again, the hypersonic attack speed means that megalodon can actually crowd control DDTs even in late freeplay. I found that having the meg target a BAD, then have all the DDTs run into it while the BAD is being thrashed is often better than having the meg chase after the supersonic round 200 DDTs.
In summary, with enough buffs and support, the meg is actually an extremely solid freeplay option that nobody ever expected. After rewatching some old godboosted videos, this is in the range of godboosted super mines, AoW and even nearing LoTN.
I will say that I don't have access to golden village mod, but I doubt the 17 million extra damage from TSG and energizer actually matter (see screenshots).
This was also with minimal micro, didn't have to reposition the shark, just a little bit of "first/strong" targeting to catch leaks.
Maybe I got lucky with 200+ freeplay RNG (not as many post 200 FBADs as I expected, but still, lmk ur thoughts.
I still have to agree that vanilla, nonbuffed megalodon is complete and utter garbage. Honestly kinda reminds me of tack zone, a tower that simply needs buffs to be worthwhile.
TLDR: Godboosted megalodon OP.

2024.05.16 15:55 YyMilk Non-Banana Farm loadouts should be able to be more aggresive in my opinion.

I just want to see more tower combinations see play that don't include farm and aren't super boring r32+ to play against. It would be cool if even small rushes to force defence were more encouraged in this game. Something like the first moab bloon send (except B.A.D.) cost could be decreased and the more moabs you send at once the more expensive the rush gets. Any ideas on how to make this game less of a farming race and more Bloons TOWER DEFENCE?

Underrated: Top path Dart monkey
It may be sort of situational, but I think it’s useful in more maps than people give it credit for. Even just getting it near the entrance to a map can make it pretty good
Overrated: Middle path tack shooter
I’m not too sure if people actually like this thing, but I think they do?? Anyway I’ve always just found it annoying to use and not very good, though it is very cheap so I guess there’s that
Military
Underrated: Middle path mortar
It’s super effective even if you hate microing (which I do), works incredibly well on loops. I may be biased because I’m working on glacial trail chimps though lmao
Overrated: middle path sub
Every time I’ve used it the missile just feels like it doesn’t do much idk
Magic
Underrated: Top path Druid
Tier 5 is very expensive, but the ball lightning is super powerful, and even freezes bloons
Overrated: Bottom path Druid
It just never feels like it affects the Druid much, even with 5
Support
Underrated: middle path farm
Apparently people don’t like this?? It makes more money than a marketplace in the long-term, requires minimal microing, and is extremely good with Benjamin’s bank hack. I only go up to tier 3 though
Overrated: top path spike factory
I like using it, but I find that I’m often disappointed by it’s performance, unless it’s tier 5, but that’s often way too expensive

(this is a remake of a post I made in the past) so, the tower I will suggest is my original idea that I made so I will tell about this idea that I had made so, here I go. Please note ninja kiwi that I have remodeled it to some extent for top path so it may change this also includes the other paths. Shock tower bio: Dr monkey's invention has helped this tower use the shocks it uses to fight. Can pop purple bloons
Top path: 1-0-0 stronger shock: pops a additional layer with a +4 pierce 2-0-0 electovison:grants camo detection (3-0-0 anti-camo tek:grants camo detection to towers in range of tower. 4-0-0 super sonar:camo Bloons detected in radius will lose camo for 5 seconds until popping after that. 5-0-0 camo-be-gone:the camo Bloons will be unmatched with permanent camo removal (grants all shock towers with a permanent camo removal (when it is granted any other paths will have a camo Bloon temporarily lose it's camo when hit) .
Middle path 0-1-0 static charge:a static charge strengthens adding extra pierce . 0-2-0 static cling:every 30 seconds Bloons cling together for 3 seconds and the camo is removed;grants camo detection. 0-3-0 static cloud: static cloud appears granting shock tower a speed boost and a powerful cling that makes Bloons up to m.o.a.b stick together for 5 seconds. 0-4-0 static storm: ability static storm: the cloud splits into two strong clouds that pop Bloons and makes Bloons up to d.d.t cling together for 15 seconds. 0-5-0 bloontonium storm: the Storm gets stronger letting zomg's cling together for 10 seconds and b.a.d's clinging together for 5 seconds. Grants damage to all Bloon types.and a permanent +5 speed boost.
Bottom path: 0-0-1 greater reach: increases range by 4 0-0-2 even stronger reach: buffs attack and increases range. 0-0-3 volt whip:adds a tentacle attachment for increased attack. 0-0-4 volt assist:gives a increased range to towers in range and gives shock towers a increased attack. 0-0-5. Volt defense:elite defense grants this tower a permanent speed boost and pierce buff to all towers for elite defense for any lives lost (boosted in c.h.i.m.p.s)

Ezili is a very unpopular hero and arguably the least popular hero in the game so why is that?

Niche

Ezili is a very niche hero, and is only really used for ultra-late game and for expert-map chimps. But why? Ezili's main selling point is her level 10 ability "Hex" which can kill a moab-class bloon and make it spawn no children and if there is still time in the ability left it will jump to another moab. This is amazing and at level 20 it can affect BADs. This means you want to use her on gamemodes and maps where she will be reaching very high levels so she can get as much value from her ability as possible which is why she is used on expert chimps (where you will be going all the way to round 100 and there is extra hero xp because of the higher map difficulty) and late-game where she will be level 20

Surely she will be popular in her niche then, right..?

I will be focusing on chimps. Now, unlike every other hero in the game, ezili sucks. She is unplayably bad. Her attack does one damage with very slow attack speed, and will curse a single bloon from the bloons she hits. The cursed bloon will take one extra damage (despite having 6 pierce she can only curse one bloon for some reason until level 4). This is horrendously bad and you are basically throwing 650 down the drain early-game which you really need. Her abilities are also straight up useless. Her level 3 only helps you pop regrows and purple bloons and her level 7 ability is unusable in chimps as it requires life sacrifice. This means up until level 8 (where she starts doing decentish moab damage) and level 10 (where she gets her moab hex ability) she doesn't help you at all. 99% of players won't waste all this time and effort when they can just use any other hero who will be useful (or at least not useless) in all stages of the game

tldr: ezili is horrendous early/middlegame is too much effort for what you get back for most players

suggestions:

The easiest and most straightforward thing to do is to buff her main attack but just making her lvl 3 and 7 abilities useful will take her super far. Making her lvl 3 help you pop all types of bloons (even if for just bloons or towers in radius) will make her so much better earlygame. or making her lvl 7 usable in chimps somehow like i dunno making it sacrifice a tower who must at least be of x value to use her totem?
anything works but when a hero can't solo round 6 on a beginner map nor do they offer any kind of support at all something is wrong.
Edit:I know she's a good hero once you unlock moab hex. When I said she's terrible I was referring to her early/middlegame

2024.05.14 19:44 Michlale [PC][2005-2015] Star Wars Isometric Game

I remember a lot of details about this game but the name always escapes me. I believe it was either a flash game or an actual downloadable exe. Isometric POV, almost like a wave defense kinda genre, similar to Bloons Tower Defense, but it was an open field instead of a set path. The map was Geonosis so very sandy aesthetic. You could summon in squads of Clone troopers, tanks, and even Jedi to fight and they kinda just go on their own iirc you mightve been able to control them. They would fly in on LAAT gunships and they just go fight the droid waves. Graphics were nothing too crazy I think it was mostly textures sprites or basic 3D model cause you couldn't zoom in super close. Any help or names are appreciated.

So the dainty Bison herself has announced she is super busy this week because it’s Payyyygeeeeeyyyyysssssss 16th tomorrow so she has to go and collect some blooooons today to set up tomorrow. I didn’t realise 16 was a big birthday? She’s going above and beyond for Paige when it was her nephews 18th a couple of weeks ago and he got a sweaty grazing table and a bloon with £5 notes in. Favouritism or what.
Becks try having to work a full time job, look after a home and kids and still have to fit in your ‘busy’ events toum. She has no idea what it’s like to be in the real world. Can’t wait for TikTok to flop and she gets a dose of what hard work is really life.

When I first used the alchemist monkey, I liked the 4-X-X. It was fairly cheap and gave a good boost to towers. Upon seeing the price for the level 5 upgrade, I thought it would do a very good job, attack very fast or at least make all my towers super super ultra buffed. However when I purchased it, I was surprised to see the only thing it did, was make the brew last permanent. It doesn't even make your towers more powerful, it just makes it permanent. When really you can literally just stick with the level 4 alchemist for much cheaper and wait for him to keep throwing the potion at the tower for the same boost. You can also use a monkey village, or an overclock engineer. So upon finding this out, I was like "F tier. What a waste of money". However upon entering the fandom. I was very surprised to find out everyone absolutely loved perma brew despite it being way too expensive and literally doing almost nothing different from Berserker Brew. I don't understand. Some people have said you can perma brew all your towers by using support chinook to carry it around. So to get my money back I did just that and then sold the alchemist to get my 40 thousand money back for other very very expensive upgrades. Only to find out that IF YOU SELL THE PERMA BREW ALCHEMIST, IT REMOVES ALL BUFFS FROM ALL TOWERS IT THREW THE POTION AT! Perma Brew is literally the most ridicolous upgrade in the entire history of bloons. If it were up to me, I'd make it so that it makes towers go absolutely crazy fast and also makes the alchemist attack very very fast. For around 55 thousand dollars for just a tiny permanent boost. Not worth the money!
So can you please explain to me the secret to this tower? Why everyone adores it while I hate it?
