I’m trying to transfer my Capital One Venture miles to Emirates. I’ve done this in the past with the same account without an issue. Now, when I go to transfer my miles, the website is asking me for a 2-step verification to confirm my identity and wants to send me a text message with a code. When I click to send a text message for my cell phone number on file it says, “We're unable to verify this number at this time. To continue, you'll need to use a different method” but it’s not giving me a different method and the only method is to use my cell phone number. I’ve called Capital One multiple times and get a different answer from each representative but ultimately no one can help me. Has anyone run into this issue in the past?
Also wondering, if I can’t resolve this and can’t transfer my miles anytime soon. Is it possible to call capital one and transfer my miles to a family member and have them then transfer those miles into my Emirates account from their Capital One account?

Can someone please help me understand what the problem is and why it popped up suddenly after working flawlessly for years?

My sweet almost 3 year old was just kicked out of his daycare's summer program. He has been in this daycare for a year. He has an IEP and we're currently in the process of finding a program for him to attend for preschool. He's still in early intervention and has been getting services at home and at his daycare program (per their request). I know that this program is unable to meet his needs. I was hoping that we would be able to get through this summer there since they have been fairly accommodating in the past. They have expressed on multiple occasions that behaviorally he is so sweet and not a threat or harmful in anyway. They are just unable to provide the 1 on 1 care he needs.
I want to file an ADA complaint. Mostly because I think it's bullshit that private daycare programs that charge over $10,000 a year are unable to provide suitable care for all children that attend.
I want to advocate for my son. Has anyone ever been through anything like this? I obviously don’t want him anywhere where he is not welcome but I do believe these places should be held accountable for excluding any child with a disability.

TL;DR: Ordered "The Ordinary Multi Peptide + Copper Peptides 1%" serum from Nykaa on April 19th. Found residue and discoloration in the dropper after 10 days. Tried to return it, but Nykaa initially refused due to no outer box. Filed a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline. Nykaa accepted the return after multiple back-and-forths and lots of hassle. Finally got my refund.
This post is going to be quite long and may include many unnecessary details but I am keeping them in so that no one makes the same mistake lol.
April 19th: Placed the order on Nykaa. The product value was Rs. 2800.
April 22nd: I received the order. I examined it and nothing seemed wrong with it. Started using the serum. Nothing concerning happened.
May 2nd: I felt itchy sensations when using the product. There was a cloudy appearance inside the dropper and discolouration near the cap. I added more pressure to the cap for closer examination and found a gross-looking residue in the dropper. This thing was hidden inside the dropper, and one wouldn't notice at first glance. By this time, it had been 10 days since I started using the product, and I had already tossed the outer boxes, assuming I wouldn't need it. Nevertheless, I placed a return request and attached all the images. A brand-new product should not deteriorate this fast, and I always stored them in optimum conditions.
May 3rd: The return request was approved.
May 4th: "Shadowfax" was assigned for pickup, and the pickup agent refused pickup because the product did not have an outer box (fair enough on his side as he was doing his job). I called Nykaa customer care on the spot and explained to them, and she said, "Your return is already accepted; please give it to the pickup agent". But the guy did not want to take the risk, so I told the Nykaa Customer Care agent about the situation. She said, "Unfortunately, he does not understand your situation. You can send the guy off for now, and we will find an alternative. Please call us back". I did as instructed and the pickup was cancelled. When I called back, another agent was on the line, and I explained the situation to her and the conversation went like this:
Nykaa CC: Mam, we cannot accept the return as there is no outer box. The product is incomplete without the box, and we cannot accept an incomplete product.
Me: But you have to see the context here: the deterioration was discovered only after 10 days, and this is a used product that you cannot resell, and if you do, it is a health hazard. Expecting me to keep the outer box for 10 days is unreasonable.
Nykaa CC: We cannot do anything about it, mam.
I was more sad than angry at this point as this was probably the most expensive product I had ever purchased, and I could not believe that all that money had gone down the drain. Also, this makes me wonder if returned products are resold, even if they're damaged or used. If that's the case, it's a serious health hazard. This is only speculation on my part.
May 5th: I had little hope but filed a complaint in the National Consumer Helpline portal. I had previously filed a complaint about this delivery company called "Delhivery" and nothing came of it, but I made the complaint anyway.
May 11th: Nykaa responded to the NCH complaint, asking for 72 hours to investigate the issue.
May 13th: Nykaa again accepted the issue, and they booked an emergency return pickup with "no quality check". Here is where I messed up. The return was set to the original delivery address (my university) pincode. I came home (to another city) and carried the product with me, hoping that if there was a resolution to my complaint, I could return from here.
May 14th: I contacted Nykaa customer care to explain the situation and the guy said he will cancel the pickup for now and customer would create a new one with the other address. I told him that I will keep a record of his message just in case. When I contacted customer care again, they said the PIN code cannot be different for return pickup. I was completely unaware that returns would not be accepted from another PIN code. Nykaa customer care suggested that I arrange for the product to be sent to the original delivery address, and they will for now cancel the pickup and create a new one when I request it.
May 15th: I diligently packed the product and couriered it back to my friend still in a hostel for 80 rupees, which was worth it given the product's 2800 rupees value.
May 17th: Friend received the parcel in perfect condition. I contacted Nykaa to rebook the return. They asked for more proof, which I provided again. The pickup was scheduled with Shadowfax again.
May 18th: I requested Nykaa to inform Shadowfax that the pickup would happen without the outer box and no QC as I dont want any more hassles while the product is picked up (and my friend will be the one handing over the product and i dont want her to waste her time). The customer care agent unaware of the history replied “we cannot accept without the outer box”. I was losing it at this point and told him to check all previous communications and this is unacceptable. He then understood and assured that the product will be accepted as it is without qc. I thanked him and awaited the pickup.
May 21st: Despite assurances, the delivery agent initially refused the pickup due to no outer box. My friend showed him screenshots of my interactions with Nykaa customer care, and he finally accepted the package after she provided another box for safe keeping.
REFUND WAS PROCESSED AND IT WAS REFLECTED IN MY BANK ACCOUNT IN AN HOUR.
Lesson learned:

• Thoroughly check the product, including the inside of the droppers.
• Always keep the outer box for a few days.
• Keep a record of everything. Product photos/videos, all conversations with customer care, etc.

Hopefully, Nykaa improves their communication and process in the future. I don't know if I have been unreasonable at any point but after paying such a big amount for a product from a reputed brand, it better be of the best quality. Pleasantly surprised by the <3 National Consumer Helpline <3 in this case and also Nykaa Customer Care at some points. They were trying to be helpful but I get a feeling that they have poor communication within their ranks. I saw another post where someone explained in a comment that there is a second layer of customer service which is more efficient.

I got some issues with the Kiosk Mode over Intune.
First to the initial situation. The management has purchased a solution for a cash register system (not sure if it is the right word in English) which I now have to implement. The idea is as follows: - Normal laptops are used as cash registers - One device is used by several people. The users each work with the same account - The cash register system is opened via a shortcut in Explorer. No program is installed for this Since I am not a fan of multiple users using the same, non-personalized domain account, I had the idea of providing a kiosk device on which the Explorer can be opened, but not much more. I have now started the first tests, but am already failing with the kiosk mode. The problem: no autologin is performed.

After not wanting to die and loading the main screen of the game, and then loading my game file again, my file became "corrupted" and the game keeps telling me I don't have enough energy even though I have plenty, the energy screen keeps telling me I'm producing 0 energy, even though I have multiple fusion cores, around 4, and a couple of other energy devices. I made a couple of new ones, once I build it, it says "energy restored" but quickly after that, everything powers down again. I've tried deconstructing things but nothing seems to work.
The fuses I had put inside, not sure if it matters or not, because I had this problem before of the power not wanting to start back up again and then it helped fixing the issue by placing the fuses inside.
I had more then enough power when I went exploring, it's just that when I load my save file back up again, I got the error I don't have enough power."

Hey all,
I rented a 4 runner in Las Vegas this past week for a work trip. We picked it up on Saturday (5/11), and then dropped it off the following Saturday (5/18).
I have rented around a dozen cars on TURO all over the US and never had any issues.
After dropping off the car in the hosts requested location (which I may add was on the opposite end of the airport from where I needed to be) I uploaded photos of the car which you can see the parking signs in the background, and told the host the car location.
The host did not have a lock box, which I thought was strange but I placed the keys back in the center console as they requested and my staff was on the way.
Monday (5/20) rolls around and my TURO host asks that I call them, so I do and provide the information for the car I dropped off 2 days ago, again.
Now Tuesday morning at 1am I get multiple calls from a TURO representative saying that I am on the hook for this missing car and that I need to provide them with my insurance and file a police report.
What should I expect here? I am certainly waiting to talk to a human from TURO before filing any police report. I have the time stamped photos of when I dropped off the car, as well as 3 witnesses of my coworkers who were with me.
Seems insane that I may be on the hook for this, when the host just didn’t pick up the car for a long period of time, and now it’s missing.

Although I have some experience with C from a few years ago, I'm still a beginner when it comes to programming complex applications. I'm struggling with structuring a project in C++. Writing everything in a single file becomes difficult to maintain.
I've tried splitting systems into different CPP files, but I often need the same function or variable in multiple files. When I use header files, I encounter multiple definition errors, even with #pragma once. I also attempted to use the MVC pattern, but I faced similar issues. I can't seem to create a generic game loop in the main file that can pass and receive data from the MVC modules without including the same header in different files, which again leads to multiple declaration errors. Any advice on how to properly structure a C++ project and manage multiple files would be greatly appreciated.

A while back, my older brother (who’s a career criminal and has flee’d multiple countries when authorities were after him for violent offences) hit me up and asked if I’d be down to edit for him. I was hesitant at first, being as last time I heard from him was after he beat our Mum to a pulp when I was only 12. For context bro or sis, whoever you are that is reading this: if I was only three years older I wouldn’t have let that slide—I would have mobbed his ass right then and there, pinned him down and done him so fucking dirty… IDGAF if my 15 year old ass had gone to juvie for it, I would do anything for my mother, including take a life. But instead, all that’s been imprinted in my brain is how much of a bitch I was at 12–cowering under the dining table as he took multiple shots with a shoe, at our crying helpless mother on the ground.
Anyways it’s been a few years, I’m 24 now and he gave me a big sob story how he has changed. I bought it up like the good little sheeple I am… started editing for him under the guise that he’d pay me $200 per video: SCORE! That’s a lot of money!!!
I got to know his business (shady as fuck) and got to find out he now dreams of being a finance influencer (double shady) but alas, he’s my big bro and no matter what wrong-doing he’s doing, he convinced me that he was a good man. Ight, bet, I’ma edit for him and make some money for the fam! In between his ‘takes’ of videos he sends me, I piece together that his “wife” films the videos, and he’s still an extremely abusive person. He tries not to let it show on camera, but I’m really good with people, emotions and hidden trauma so I can feel the sickening ‘abuser-of-people’ energy SEEPING off of him, still, to this day. I feel sick to my stomach editing for him, but shit, he’s promised me $200 per video. Over the course of a few weeks I can see why he never told us about his wife, it seems he keeps her pent up somewhere in Georgia, Batumi, and forces her to do whatever he wants. He once referred to her as “his slave” which I originally thought was A JOKE, but now in the grand scheme of things… I don’t think it was a joke. I pray that authorities get to them before he does something to her, but idek where to begin to put a ‘concerned citizen tip’ in a foreign country.

Takes PayPal about 20 days to actually let me use the money… ridiculous because we NEEDED it… but that’s okay, I work around the problems in life, much like we all have to.
Here comes the turning point: I’m a little overworked and a little coo-coo sometimes, and one night I start telling him personal shit, kinda pouring out my heart to him, venting almost. I don’t really remember about what, just life I guess, nothing negative towards him. Somehow he misconstrues it, gets upset with me, and ‘tells me off.’ I get upset with him, tell him his business is a sham and I’ma change the rules that we agreed upon. Since his fake-ass can’t pay me what was agreed upon, (maybe $200 is a lot for him, as well) so I ask him if we can do $10 per hour instead. I pitch to him that moving forward, anytime I edit more than five hours ($50), I will refuse to edit until the money gets sent. The conversation turns hostile, QUICK. He calls me a ton of bad names with an underlying message that I’m the biggest loser on earth for pursuing a dream in working in Entertainment & he ends it with a sweet “you’ll never be anything.” LOL WHAT? Completely out of pocket and out of left field, so naturally, I tell him to eat shit, I won’t be doing anymore free work and he can pay me a mere $30 (yes, thirty dollars) for the entire portfolio of audios, texts/scripts, videos, and clips I’ve taken from the internet that ‘match’ the vibe he wants in his videos.
Context: at this point I’ve completed SIX FULL VIDEOS FOR THIS DUDE and he’s only paid me the one payment of $200. Not good at maths? Me neither, lemme help you out. He owes me $1,200 from our original agreement because I’ve spent more than 48 collective hours working on his videos, and he’s only paid me $200. But I tell him: I’ll let it all slide if he pays me $30 for the portfolio of about 50 gigabytes, and then moving forward, he’d pay me the $10 per hour if he wanted more content from me. He already has the six full videos in his possession. The ‘portfolio’ is stuff I’ve found that’s free-use on the internet, stuff that I’ve compiled, and even some scripts that I’ve written out! ALL MINE that I did for HIS business. So it seems logical for me to give this portfolio as an option, just incase he wants to say nah moving forward on me editing for him, and just take the material & go our separate ways…
In response, my (35 year old) brother files a complaint on PayPal claiming he only hired me for a channel encompassing trailer that I did not provide and that I’m attempting to extort him for more money. LOL, WHAT? PayPal’s like BET and automatically attempts to deduct from MY chequing account, without even getting to the bottom of it. Obviously doesn’t work, my account (not PayPal account, my fucking bank account. these mf so overzealous that they reached right into my mf pocket!!!!) gets put in the negatives and I attempt to appeal, with no sweat on my brow ‘cuz I’m like no way PayPal finna let this slide. I then proceed to message my terrible relative multiple times, with texts, videos and audio recordings and I’m in a hysterical mess. I begin threatening him, I begin begging to him, pleading with him, saying anything under the sun just for the hope that he has some heart and would send back the $200 if PayPal does end up taking it from me. Already my chequing was fricked but I could do some damage control… I was cocky, thinking PayPal would obviously side with me once they heard the whole story, so I also told him since he’s caused such pain for me out of absolutely nothing, like completely unprovoked, then shit: I want the original $200 PLUS an extra $200 for all this trauma. He responds by blocking me on everything. It’s 4 A.M. and I’m shaking as I’m typing this…

TLDR: Has anyone experienced anything with paying their kids from a sole proprietorship and how do you get an EIN / make it work?
Hello, I filed for an EIN in 2022 after I hired and paid my kids for the first time for marketing and admin services related to my sole-proprietor real estate business. I plan to continue to hire them so I need some assistance getting fixed with the IRS. I ended up submitting paper returns last year (tax year 2022) as their first returns and also for mine because I couldn't E-FILE my return due to some dependent-child tag error. They seem to have gone through as I received my refund after 6 weeks. They owed $0 to IRS and a nominal amount to our state which was paid by check.
I have a couple problems. I can't do anything online as it has errors that prevent me from e-filing.
1) Turbotax will not let me submit an online w2 filing under my SSN to my kids unlike when it lets me make 1099 using my LLC EIN. I had used turbotax to efile for the past 10+ years.
2) When I use Online IRS EIN tax requester, it gives me an error and says it cannot give me an instant EIN for myself as a sole proprietorship.
3) I also faxed and mailed them for an EIN multiple times over several months with NO reply. (Online and when I called they said to fax/mail it.).
4) This resulted in my kids 2023 e-file getting rejected (I filed for an extension) and I just noticed it so I have to pay whatever fines are associated with that. But I guess I have to print and mail in their returns instead of the e-file with ACH payment that I had scheduled on 4/15/24
NOTE: I do not want to pay my kids from my LLC because according to IRS rules their income is then subject to FICA and about 15% of other taxes that it's not subject to if I pay them from my sole proprietorship real estate business (doing business as myself).
