2024.05.19 10:39 agreaterfooltool How would you rebalance the typing chart?

I know that this is more of a gameplay thing than a writing thing, but as it stands the typing chart is pretty imbalanced, especially towards Steel and Fairy (hell half the reason why Zacian is good is because of their typing). I want to create a battling “system” that’s more well rounded and balanced so that weaker pokemon and types are easier to write in a battle because it wouldn’t be as one sided as before.
Currently my own changes are:
•Bug is super effective (which will be referred to as SE from now on) on Fairy. I know this makes no logical sense but it makes Bug type more viable and Fairy a bit weaker.
•Ice type is SE on Steel and fire, but they’re still SE ice. My reasoning here is that Ice freezes and messes up the joints of Steel type Pokemon, and that Ice can absolutely put out fire in a practical sense. However the two are still SE on ice for pre-established reasons.
•Ice and Fire type are SE on Fairy. In my world, most Fairies rely on emotion and belief for a life source, in other words they live in their own world. However Ice and Fire cut directly through that and shatter the belief. You can also make the argument that since most fairies associate themselves with forests and the like, Ice and Fire are SE on them because a snowstorm and a wildfire can easy ruin a forest.
So how would you rebalance the typing chart if you would?
(P.S to be clear, this is not a post about why my suggestions or why I’m right or wrong. That’s not what I’m looking for)

2024.05.19 10:24 heyman789 reading values programatically

Hi, apologies in advance if this is against the rules. I'll take down the post if that's the case.
I'm trying to create a reinforcement learning agent to learn an optimal way of playing this game. I was quite stoked when i chanced upon this game as i had this project in mind for some time now, but i didn't want to deal with the pathfinding that came with most pokemon ROMs.
right now, the game is played in an emulator in a web browser, and it seems like the values on screen (poke names, levels, HP) are not present in the HTML code (to my knowledge).
is there anyway to get these values? or would setting up a local copy of the server allow me access to those values? im not sure if a local copy of the server would run in a browser or perhaps some program window in which i might be able to inject some other program to read the codes.

Offset VOR, when should I turn to runway heading? Queenstown NZ
I am currently learning my DME arcs and such, just getting comfortable with flying VOR approaches.
NZQN has a VOR on a hill north of the airport. The approach plate pictured below flies you to the station and sets missed approach at DME 2.
I am having trouble deciding when the 'correct' time would be to deviate from the approach and turn runway heading. Watching approach videos on YouTube, the ATR pilots seem to wrap around the hill, suggesting a left turn at about DME 4.
I understand they are probably flying RNAV approaches, but my question is are these offset VOR approaches relying on you to deviate on your own judgement and fly visually to the airport as suggested in the bottom right of the approach chart, or is there a correct IFR procedure in the chart that I'm missing?
Thanks!

2024.05.19 10:14 One_Understanding603 The End of Consciousness May Not Be the End Of Consciousness

One thing that’s always helped me cope with the awareness of our imminent extinction is this reflection on time. I’m sure it’s not novel, but it goes something like this: time only exists insofar as we are conscious of it. Okay no, it exists regardless, but how we experience time is contingent on consciousness. Waiting at the door for your degenerate partner to get their shit together enough to leave the house feels like ages even if it’s technically speaking only 100 seconds. Perceiving every second that passes makes each second feel significant. Being in a year long coma feels like being asleep for a night.
Should humans go extinct, so will the perception of a billion years being a long time. In an ever expanding cosmos that has existed for eons, this phase of extinction is a teensy blip. Is it wrought with immeasurable suffering? Absolutely, and it fucking sucks. Is it significant? Only because we are aware of it. Eons will pass and it will be insignificant until we have a eyes to behold again.
Without a conscious witness to account for the passage of time, the time it will take for conscious life forms to evolve again will not be experienced. Or perhaps it will be experienced like a dream: humanity going to sleep and waking up again to a new dawn as if no time had passed (figuratively speaking). This is assuming that evolution will gravitate towards life forms gaining consciousness again, but that assumption isn’t that far fetched. Even if consciousness is a one-in-a-trillion phenomenon, a trillion years could pass in what feels like a second and we’d have conscious life forms again. On an experiential level, the only eras that actually exist are the eras where things are being experienced.
The point here isn’t to wager some anthropocentric argument about how trees that fall in the forest don’t make a sound (although perception/the absence thereof does appear to influence the laws of physics). The noise is always there, but it’s humans who turn that sound into music, literature, art and philosophy through the horror and splendour of perception. Marvel while you can.
TLDR: humans go sleepy bye byes. Eyes go wakey wakey as if nothing had happened. Mama nature DGAF. All hail mother dearest.

2024.05.19 09:40 d_pock_chope_bruh Progenitors

It started with a whisper, a shiver of information that slithered through the corridors of the CIA like a cold, uninvited guest. I was a senior analyst, tasked with sifting through the static and noise of global intelligence. But this—this was different. It was 2009 when the first document crossed my desk, a classified report from the Global Access Program. The title was innocuous: “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena – Preliminary Analysis.” But the content… it was nothing short of extraordinary.
The initial report detailed sightings of craft with capabilities far beyond our own. These weren’t the erratic, drunken movements of weather balloons or the technological marvels of hostile nations. These were intelligent, deliberate maneuvers, the kind that hinted at minds far advanced from ours. It was chilling, but it was only the beginning.
As weeks turned into months, the trickle of information became a flood. Documents stamped with the highest levels of classification described encounters, recoveries, and, most disturbingly, autopsies. The recovered bodies weren’t the little green men of popular culture. They were eerily humanoid, yet undeniably otherworldly. Their skin had a silicon-like quality, translucent and tough, and their eyes—large, dark, and haunting—seemed to pierce through the veil of secrecy we so desperately tried to maintain.
I was part of a small, compartmentalized team, tasked with understanding the implications of these findings. The government’s approach was twofold: reverse-engineer the technology and determine the intentions of these visitors. But as our understanding grew, so did our fear.
One evening, after hours of staring at grainy footage of a UFO darting through the sky over a desolate military base, I received a call. The voice on the other end was panicked, speaking in hushed, frantic tones. It was one of our field operatives, stationed at a classified recovery site. They had just intercepted a transmission. It wasn’t human.
The transmission was a distress signal, but not one of desperation. It was a call to arms. These beings, it seemed, were not just explorers. They were scouts, and their mission was not benign. The transmission hinted at a hive mind, a collective consciousness that controlled these entities. They were here to assess, to probe, and to prepare. For what, we could only speculate.
Days later, another recovery operation took place. A craft was shot down over the Nevada desert, and the bodies retrieved told a horrifying story. They were connected, biologically and technologically, to this hive mind. When one entity was captured, the others knew. When one died, they all felt it. The implications were staggering. We were not just dealing with isolated visitors; we were confronting a unified front.
The more we learned, the more paranoid our superiors became. Orders came down to contain the information at all costs. Whistleblowers were silenced, dissenters disappeared. But the truth was too big to contain. The technology we recovered was decades, if not centuries, ahead of our own. Anti-gravity propulsion, energy sources that defied our understanding of physics, biological materials that healed and adapted.
And then came the darkest revelation. The autopsies revealed something even more unsettling. These beings had genetic material strikingly similar to our own. They weren’t just visitors; they were progenitors. We were their experiment, their creation. The implications shattered every paradigm we held dear. Religion, science, history—all of it was called into question.
As I sit here, penning this confession, I know my time is limited. They will come for me, as they have come for others. But the truth must be known. We are not alone, and we never have been. Our governments have hidden this from us, not out of malice, but out of fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of the truth, fear of the inevitable.
To you who reads this, understand this: the veil has been lifted. The shadows hold secrets that are darker and more profound than we can imagine. And the truth, once revealed, will change everything.
This is my testament. Believe it, or don’t. But know this: the world is not as it seems. The universe is vast, and we are not the apex of creation. We are but a fragment in a grand, terrifying design.
The truth is out there, waiting to be uncovered. And when it is, the world will never be the same.
The progenitors, as we came to call them, had motives far more complex and far-reaching than simple exploration or conquest. The truth unraveled slowly, like an intricate tapestry revealing a grand design. It began with fragments of intercepted communications and culminated in a terrifying, awe-inspiring understanding of our place in the universe.
The progenitors did not come from a distant star merely to observe. They were architects of life, and Earth was their grand experiment. Our planet, teeming with diverse life forms, was a controlled environment, a living laboratory designed for a singular purpose: evolution.
From the ancient texts to modern scientific discoveries, we’ve always sought answers to our origins. The progenitors provided those answers, but they came at a cost. We discovered that they seeded countless worlds, each designed to test different variables of life. Earth was unique due to its biodiversity and its potential for intelligent life.
The genetic similarities between us and the progenitors weren’t just a coincidence. They were deliberate. By seeding their own DNA into the primordial soup of Earth, they ensured a certain path of evolution. Our intelligence, our creativity, our very civilization were results of their intricate design. We were, quite literally, their children, bred and cultivated to reach a specific level of advancement.
But why? The reasons were as complex as they were chilling. The progenitors were not just scientists; they were facing an existential crisis. Their civilization, once spanning galaxies, was in decline. They needed a solution to prevent their extinction, and their answer was found in genetic diversity and adaptability.
Earth and its human inhabitants were part of a grander scheme: to evolve a species capable of assimilating their consciousness, their essence, into a new form. Our rapid technological advancement was not just a natural progression but was subtly influenced to accelerate our development. They needed us to reach a level where we could understand and perhaps even merge with their advanced consciousness.
We learned through decrypted communications and rare encounters that the progenitors were a hive mind, an interconnected collective consciousness. Over millennia, they had lost individuality, becoming a singular entity spread across countless biological hosts. This form of existence had its limits, and they sought to evolve beyond those constraints. They aimed to create a hybrid species—humans with the potential to host their collective consciousness.
This wasn’t just about survival; it was about transcendence. By merging with us, they hoped to achieve a new state of being, combining their ancient wisdom and collective power with our adaptability and creativity. We were to be the vessels for their next evolution.
However, this plan wasn’t without resistance. Among the progenitors, there were factions. Some believed in the purity of their collective consciousness, resisting the idea of merging with what they considered lesser beings. These internal conflicts spilled over into their actions on Earth, leading to sporadic yet significant interventions in our history.
As our understanding grew, so did the dread. The government’s attempts to contain this knowledge were born out of sheer terror. How could they explain to the world that we were bred for a purpose beyond our control? That our creators intended to use us to save themselves?
The intercepted transmissions became increasingly desperate. The progenitors’ time was running out, and their interest in Earth intensified. Reports of sightings and encounters surged. The military engaged in numerous clandestine operations to intercept and study these beings, leading to an underground war of sorts.
And then came the ultimate revelation: the progenitors were already among us. Their advanced technology allowed them to blend in, to influence, and to manipulate. The rise and fall of civilizations, the sudden leaps in technology, the inexplicable events in history—they were all part of the progenitors’ intricate plan to guide us towards the inevitable merging.
The truth, when finally pieced together, was more than earth-shattering. It was paradigm-shattering. We were not alone, nor were we masters of our fate. We were pawns in a cosmic game, engineered for a destiny we had yet to fully comprehend. The progenitors, our creators, were not gods but beings driven by survival and evolution, using us as their means to an end.
As I document this, I know the implications are beyond comprehension. The world must know, not to incite fear, but to understand. We stand at the brink of an unprecedented revelation, one that will redefine our existence and our place in the universe.
This is the truth, unfiltered and unvarnished. We are the progeny of ancient architects, part of a grand design stretching across the stars. Our future is intertwined with theirs, and the choices we make now will determine the fate of both our species.

2024.05.19 09:15 sealedinterface Help with handling Zariman missions

Just unlocked the Zariman and I am struggling with missions here.
Enemy density is through the roof. Normally with my preferred Saryn I'd be delighted by that, and I can keep spores going for quite a while before it starts burning itself out, but these L50-70 enemies are hitting way harder than I'm used to. Slash DoTs and exilus knockdown are especially deadly for me.
It's not like it's my first time against mid-level enemies though; I can handle L80-90 sortie missions and L70 open-world bounties with this build just fine. But here I can barely handle 60s. Maybe it's the corridors making it harder to get a good position?
Plus, every mission has so many different things I need to be juggling at once - even without bounties. And if I want to get any Voidplumes to rank up the Holdfast (starting with Down) I need to not only be able to do the missions, but survive while searching for pickups. These missions auto-extract too so I can't just complete the mission solo and then look for pickups before extracting.
Mod layout:
I've spent some time talking how to use Saryn in higher levels, and my rotation generally intends to be Venom Dose > Toxic Lash > Spores an enemy > start blasting to spread it. I mess it up all the time though because skill issue. I also usually have to click 4-5 times with Spores to actually hit the target, again skill issue.
Any advice on how I can better handle this? I've messed around with these builds plenty and haven't been able to do much better than this. Other advice is appreciated too.
And, before you suggest:
EDIT: Okay the exterminate mission is 10x easier than the others.

2024.05.19 09:15 Agneus [Online] [5e] [18+] [GMT+1] Virtues of Essence - Roleplay Focused Mystery and Lore Driven Forgotten Realms Campaign seeking a replacement player

“What defines virtue and how are we to gauge it? An inquiry that reverberates through epochs, its answer as fickle and capricious as the fates of those who deem to ask it. Duty, honor, justice - many over the ages would name these virtues, the conduits through which noble intentions find expression. Yet, as the battlefield of beliefs unfolds, a legion emerges, each as sworn to these principles as to obliterating all who would dare stake alike claim. Thus, battles rage and wars are waged and, in the end, those who are left are no more right than those fell by the blade. Alas, it is the victors whose ideals are etched into monuments for posterity. Except even words chiseled in unyielding stone are fated to fade in time. So is the wicked cycle destined to repeat in all its futility, its ephemeral prize seized again, only to be lost and sought anew. Try and picture, if for but a moment, a world where our rulers paused to reflect on the lessons of yore. They, too, would discern the elixir that enables one to escape the confines of memory—the very burden our fleeting nature forbids us to carry. Progress and evolution. Adaptability and transcendence. Everlasting and yet not stagnant, irrefutable, and yet fluid, these are the only true virtues. Thus, must we ever venture into the uncharted and unfamiliar for only from these unexplored domains may the truly virtuous arise.”
Where: Discord (Video and Voice) + FoundryVTT
When: every Saturday 5 - 9/10 pm GMT+1 (CET), 11 am - 3/4 pm EST
Who: party of 4 players and a DM seeking one extra player
Updates: Recruitment updates will be posted here.
Hello there and well met! If you’ve made it past the flavor text (or skipped it) and through the basic info (hopefully didnt skip past that one) you might very well be at the right address! Without further ado onto the post.

🐲The campaign🐲

Having only just recovered from the Second Sundering and the War of the Silver Marches, the North had been ravaged by a whole new set of tumultuous events - the rise of the Cult of the Dragon and that of the Absolute, the Fall of Eltruel and the short reign of the beholder crime lord Xanathar just some among them. After a brief respite from the twisted and the unnatural the clouds once more begin to gather. Along the Long Road, whole hosts of wild beasts and monsters have been accosting travelers seemingly at random and in the grand metropolis of Waterdeep a sudden rise in crime seems to coincide with strange events passing unnoticed beneath the surface. Amidst all this, in spring of 1493 DR, a party of adventurers delves into a mystery of enchanted gemstones being utilized to nefarious ends by unknown perpetrators all the while navigating the labyrinthine twists of city faction politics.
As implied by the post title, this is an ongoing campaign (we are 12 sessions in at the time of this post). Due to some irl commitments weve recently dropped a player and are looking to replace them.
As the title suggests, this is a roleplay focused mystery/lore driven campaign. Expect an overreaching plot with ample secrets to uncover, conspiracies to unravel and eldritch truths to unearth. The first word of the password is "Doth". On the same level of importance or more important even be that the players preference, there is a variety of subplots to engage with, from small and goofy and random to ones rivaling the main story arc in complexity and variance. Among these, individual character story arcs play a leading role, at times seamlessly intertwined with the current focus of the party, at times separate and independent.
As was already mentioned and is further described below, this is a roleplay focused campaign and a roleplay heavy game. This means that roleplay exists as a unifying concept for all other aspects of the game including exploration, combat, and puzzles. That said DnD is only DnD with all three of its main pillars intact and this campaign is no exception in that regard. I very much enjoy the mechanical side of the game as well besides roleplay and so things like multiphase boss fights and custom magic items are definitely on the table.

🧙‍♂️The DM🧙‍♂️

Hello there, Jay here, 25 yo law student from Central Europe currently working on finishing his master’s degree, trying to stay afloat in the current lease market. I study and work in a law firm by day and DM or play DnD by night (more like evening but night sounded cooler). I have been a big fan of TTRPGs since my early teens and of online DnD for the past five years. I’ve DMed multiple campaigns, finished CoS not least among them and I currently play in a long-term campaign. Before you ask, yes, my schedule is strained but not to the point I am unable to engage with my hobbies.
I would describe my DMing style as driven, realistic, and involved but also very conscious about player agency and collaborative storytelling as core values that make TTRPGs so popular and unique. I spend a lot of time ensuring the worlds I create and the stories I want to tell feel alive. From hand-picked music, to fully voiced NPCs and scenic descriptions designed to breathe life into the campaign setting I daresay my games rival in quality those of the professional DMs that charge for each session.
There is a drawback to this all however. Second word of the password is "thy". I expect a lot from my players as well. Writing a story in DnD is not a one person job. It takes a collective effort of the entire group to create something truly unique, something that one can be proud while looking forward to each session. Unwinding and letting off steam means something else for everyone. For me it means losing myself in the creative process of roleplaying an NPC or describing a scene, watching my players masterfully portray their own characters or having the party derail my plans in an awesome unforeseen and unexpectedly enriching way. If you find yourself in any of what I just described than this may be a game for you. If you don’t, that’s fine. This is definitely not a game for everyone.

🏰The setting🏰

Forgotten Realms is a default setting of Dungeons and Dragons but it is anything but boring and mundane. With now decades worth of lore behind it, it offers an unparalleled opportunity for anyone wanting to build on solid foundations to bring their ideas to life. While it has garnered a lot of attention lately with the release of a certain videogame (more people now know Astarion than a good amount of Hollywood celebrities I’d say) it has had its loyal following even before then, being constantly expanded and living its own life in a host of both online and home games. It’s been a natural choice of mine for a while now and not once have I had any regrets. The third word of the password is "mirror". I feel with how great of a variety of content the Forgotten Realms offer everybody is able to pick something that suits their creative vision. In summary the Forgotten Realms almost feel like a real place with how much worldbuilding has been done with them and offer a diversity of content few other TTRPG settings can boast.
When it comes to setting of the campaign in the world of Faerun I have once again made a somewhat traditional pick and decided to place the onset of the game onto the Sword Coast, more precisely into the city of Waterdeep. If one of the key upsides of Forgotten Realms is diversity of content, Waterdeep is one of the best representations of this. Being the largest settlement on the known Faerun, Waterdeep offers nigh limitless options in terms of main story arc genre, character creation and character backstory implementation. It has everything every large TTRPG settlement ought to have (fickle upper class, enigmatic factions, quaint taverns and extravagant nightclubs, always in bad mood city watch, a castle and a harbor) as well as few pretty original ideas such as colossal definitely not alive statues, a city council where even its members don’t know each other’s identity and a massive dungeon right underneath the city where you can literally fall right from a tavern taproom.
In case you are wondering, while this campagn takes place primarily in the city of Waterdeep itself, there is nothing stopping the players from exploring past the city if they so choose. The final word of the password is "crack?". Different parts of the main plot and various subplots can and will encourage the party to explore Waterdeep environs and sometimes even further.

📃The requirements📃

No exceptions here. Unless otherwise stated, the requirements must be met at the time of application.

🙋‍♂️How to sign up🙋‍♀️

Youve made it all the way to the end of this long post. Congratulations. Or maybe you’ve skipped all the way to the end. In that case I strongly recommended you go back. If not to learn what you are applying for than to make sure you haven’t missed something very important. Now if you are confident that you have what it takes and that this is a game that you could have a lot of fun with, please fill the below attached google questionnaire (if for any strange reason the link doesn’t end up working, please let me know in the comments under this post) and if fortune favors you, I shall get back to you promptly. Best of luck to you and I hope to speak to you soon!
https://forms.gle/5kc4RbwavJPfT8PD9
______________________________________
PS: As a part of the questionnaire, you will be asked to submit a short piece of your narrative writing in a form of a google doc link (not a custom piece of writing, any relevant past one you have will do). Maybe best have that ready beforehand? On that note, dont apply for the game with a detailed backstory of a character you want to play that you arent willing to adapt to the conditions of the setting/campaign.
PSS: Not to discourage you but if you do make it through the questionnaire and into the second group of applicants you will be asked to do a discord interview with your webcam turned on. I am asking you to go through a lot for a game you might not even end up liking I know, but if you do end up liking it, all this effort will be well worth it as I am sure my other players would agree.

2024.05.19 08:44 Snowie_Mountainn Marinette is one of the worst characters to hit big screen.

Marinette is one of the worst characters to hit big screen.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the oh-so-beloved star of the animated series "Miraculous Ladybug," is often hailed as the epitome of innocence, courage, and resilience. But hold up, folks! Let's take a closer look and uncover the unsettling truth about this supposedly sweet character. Sure, Marinette may seem like your average high school student with a flair for fashion and a secret superhero identity. But beneath that cheery facade lies a twisted web of obsession and manipulation that would make your skin crawl. One of the most disturbing things about Marinette is her relentless pursuit of Adrien Agreste, her classmate and love interest. Now, it's not unusual for fictional characters to have crushes, but Marinette takes it to a whole new level. She's willing to stoop to deceit and shady tactics, all in the name of getting closer to Adrien. Talk about crossing the line from cute to downright creepy! And let's not forget about her stalker-like tendencies towards Adrien. She's constantly snooping around, gathering intel on his every move, and even sneaking into his room to leave him gifts or love letters. Seriously, Marinette, boundaries much? This girl needs a serious reality check. But wait, there's more! Marinette's possessiveness and jealousy towards Adrien are off the charts. She becomes a raging ball of anger and resentment towards anyone who dares to show interest in her precious Adrien or threatens her claim over him. Talk about toxic behavior and reinforcing harmful stereotypes about love and relationships. Oh, and let's not forget about her alter ego, Ladybug. Turns out, she's just as messed up as Marinette. Tasked with protecting the city, she often takes it to the extreme, resorting to questionable tactics and putting innocent people at risk. Way to go, Ladybug, you're really nailing that superhero gig. So, while Marinette may have fooled us all with her innocent facade, it's clear that she's got some seriously creepy traits lurking beneath the surface. Time to rethink that whole "symbol of innocence" thing, folks.
To all the Reddit folks who have been following along with this discussion, let's take a moment to recharge and regroup before diving into part 2 of our analysis of Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Whether you're sipping on your favorite beverage, stretching your legs, or just taking a breather, I hope you're enjoying the conversation so far. Feel free to share your thoughts, questions, or even your own experiences with animated characters in the comments below. And when you're ready, let's reconvene and continue our exploration of why Marinette might just be one of the most contentious characters to grace the screen
Part 2:
Marinette Dupain-Cheng's portrayal as the worst character to hit the big screen is bad enough, but what's even worse is the show's creators and their pathetic response to constructive criticism. Fans have raised legitimate concerns and offered suggestions for improvement, but these clueless creators have consistently shown a complete lack of interest in listening. It's like they think they're above it all, too good to address the issues plaguing their own series. Let's talk about Marinette's toxic behavior, for example. Fans have rightfully called out her obsessive tendencies and manipulative actions, but do the creators care? Nope! They just keep romanticizing her messed up relationship with Adrien, perpetuating harmful ideas about love and romance. It's like they want to teach their audience all the wrong lessons. And don't even get me started on how these creators treat their fans. Instead of engaging in a productive conversation, they resort to attacking and insulting anyone who dares to question their creative decisions. They belittle and dismiss fans, acting like their concerns are completely irrelevant. This kind of hostility not only pushes fans away, but it also kills any chance of meaningful discussion and feedback. But it doesn't stop there. These creators have made it clear that their own artistic vision is more important than what the audience wants. Sure, creative freedom is important, but not when it comes at the expense of satisfying and engaging the people who actually watch the show. Ignoring fan feedback and refusing to make any changes based on criticism is a surefire way to lose your fanbase and destroy the integrity of your series. In the end, the dismissive attitude of the show's creators towards constructive criticism only adds fuel to the fire of Marinette Dupain-Cheng's status as the worst character to ever grace the big screen. They can't even bring themselves to acknowledge valid concerns, let alone address them. It's a shame, really. But hey, who needs a good show when you have arrogant creators who think they know better than everyone else?
In conclusion, the show's creators' dismissive attitude towards constructive criticism only compounds the problems inherent in Marinette Dupain-Cheng's portrayal as the worst character to hit the big screen. By refusing to acknowledge valid concerns and engage in meaningful dialogue with their audience, the creators have perpetuated harmful stereotypes and created a toxic atmosphere within the fandom. As audiences, it's important to hold creators accountable for their actions and demand better representation and storytelling in media.

2024.05.19 07:52 ScientistFit6382 Stuck in silver

I am new to siege, maybe played like 3 months now. I'm level 85ish and can't get out of silver. Every game for the last nine games the opposing team has had 1 if not 2 people that are, according to r6 tracker, emerald to diamond. No matter how good we do their emerald player just wipes us and makes it impossible to win. Do I need to change something in settings or what? It makes the game really un-enjoyable.

2024.05.19 07:51 Stanley232323 Daily Community Tiering Post Day 32: What does the Delphox say? It's Delphox!

Hello again everybody!
Before we get started on today's post the current voting for Infernape currently has votes for B tier with a solid lead!
So with that being said it looks like Infernape is likely to join the B tier! (Also the previous vote for Aggron did end up with B tier votes in the lead as well) Like with all previous votes I'll continue to check the numbers and if anything changes I'll update it on tomorrow's post.
(Please note that this voting/tiering is centered around Classic as after a certain point in Endless only about 5 Pokemon and 2 abilities are truly viable.)
So current tiers are:
S tier - Garganacl, Cloyster, Skeledirge, Gholdengo, Tinkaton
A tier - Gyarados/Mega, VenusauMega/Dyna, Aegislash, Corviknight/Dyna, Excadrill, GardevoiMega, Toxapex, ScizoMega, GengaMega/Dyna
B tier - Kanto-Persian/Dynamax Kanto-Meowth, Weavile, Starmie, Rhyperior, Quagsire, Mamoswine, Whimsicott, Aggron/Mega, Infernape
C tier - Linoone
F tier - Dustox
With that being said let's get to today's vote!
Today is day 32 of tier voting and today we will discuss the magic fox, Delphox! After 3 straight generations of Fire/Fighting starters Delphox was a welcome change with the (at the time) unique and new Fire/Psychic typing. As of now there is also Armarouge with that typing but for 3 generations Delphox was the only Pokemon of that type combination (even it's pre-evolutions were just pure Fire types). Delphox has a good Special Attack stat, which is the second highest of all the Fire type starters (even beating Skeledirge, with only Hisuian-Typhlosion having a higher Special Attack), and the 4th highest among all the starters combined (behind Primarina, Inteleon and the aforementioned Hisuian-Typhlosion). It also has good Speed and Special Defense stats at the tradeoff of being kind of frail on the physical Defense side. It's Hidden Ability hasn't been known as the best historically, but in this game it actually is pretty useful! On top of that this game gives it some more useful tools in the form of really strong egg moves (including one of the strongest moves in the game) and a Hidden Ability which synergizes with one of its other egg moves extremely well and also gives it protection against priority attacks (most of which are physical attacks and Sucker Punch in particular can be very threatening for it). It's natural movepool also has some solid utility options and decent coverage moves.
(Also here is the post with rules for voting/tiering posts and a little more explanation about them in general: https://www.reddit.com/pokerogue/s/0LNZhPPzR9 Links to past votes can all be found here as well in comments added to the OP with each new vote)
And here is a quick reminder of what each tier generally means:
S tier: Top tier, can make or break your entire run, essentially the cream of the crop
A tier: really strong but not quite top tier, maybe slightly outclassed or has a slight weakness holding it back
B tier: solid choices that can make it to your endgame team, might be reliant on team composition to truly function well or might just be outclassed as well
C tier: usually early-mid game Mons, ones you don't really want to take to end game if you can avoid it, usually pretty decently glaring weakness but something redeeming enough to keep from F tier
F tier: no reason to use in end game unless you're doing it for a meme/joke
Abstain/No Opinion: this will be a voting option mostly just for Pokemon people haven't unlocked/used to their full potential yet. If Abstaining votes outvote each individual tier then the Pokemon will be tabled for the time being and another vote will open up for it later (can mostly see this happening with Legendaries).

2024.05.19 07:28 AssumptionContent569 My opinion on Tenet Glaxion and the "chain-beam meta"

My opinion on Tenet Glaxion and the
I know I might get a lot of hate for this, but I personally don't like how DE thinks it's ok to keep using what is currently one of the most braindead metas in this game. The Tenet Glaxion is only reinforcing this problem with how powerful it is, and it all goes back to the Amprex.
So we all know the good ol' Amprex, right? A tesla rifle that fires high voltage electricity that "arcs among nearby enemies." Now this is very fitting for a weapon that releases pure electricity. It's been a good staple for a very long time, especially after DE gave a big buff to all beam weapons a few years ago.
Jumping to the release of Kuva Liches, we get what's been the literal top secondary weapon to this day: the Kuva Nukor. Reading it's description, it used to "hit up to four additional targets." But once Sisters of Parvos was released and we had its Corpus brother, Tenet Cycron, they toned it down to its level of only hitting two additional targets, which is still very strong. Now this seems very familiar to Amprex's uniqueness of chaining it's beam to other enemies but much stronger, yet Amprex still had advantage of hitting more enemies than the two pistols.
Now here's where the problem starts to sprout: Duviri Paradox gave us an Incarnon Genesis for the Atomos and the Torid. So Atomos gets a cool grenade launcher once you charge it up, plus it redeems itself as a powerful chain-beam with the evolutions. That's very nice. But if you switch the firing mode on the Torid once charged up, it does the EXACT SAME THING as what Atomos does, which is chaining its toxin beam to multiple enemies at once when you make contact, but the damage is immensely magnified. This only fueled the fire for what people were craving for in a weapon, clearing a whole room with no penalty to the player (which is usually being knocked down) by just holding the trigger down. Torid's incarnon Genesis became one of the most popular just because it uses what was already a powerful meta in the game at the time.
Then we come to Glaxion Vandal, which "strikes up to four enemies at once".... 😮‍💨 I really wish I could show the disappointment on my face when I tested it out, praying it wasn't just another copy-paste of what I personally think is the worst meta DE could have ever started. I've already maxed out my Glaxion and forgot about it, a long with the rest of the weapons in this rant. If they want people to break away and try new weapons, they need to stop reintroducing this gimmick into what seems like only variations of weapons we've already had. Because once they set it into one, it's gonna be immensely popular for a long time until the next one with the same thing comes along...
If you've read this far, hopefully you can understand my frustration with how people are okay with using the same thing with just a different coat of paint. It's become very mind-numbing for me.
