The church's earliest visitors on Sunday are a group of kind-hearted do-gooders. And Lucas is there too.
The group, including Lucas, is diligently doing last-minute preparations, carefully and skillfully tending to the food they expertly prepared yesterday. Every single person involved in the work does their part with impressive ease and earned confidence. Lucas's careful contributions, both his direct, visible work, and the boons conferred by his presence allow them to do their work with newfound ease, confidence, and remarkable luck. Lucas occasionally makes minor missteps, but those are due more to the drawbacks he is enduring than anything he actually does. And every time he makes a mistake it's so minor a few deft movements are enough for him to overcome them. All the while he is texting Hannah and is visibly excited to volunteer, even though his motives are still quite selfish.
Lucas wisely does not take a leadership role here. The diligent figure follows the lead of his more experienced peers, and his endless, untiring contributions are enough to allow the group to be ready in an hour, completing work that normally takes them two or three thanks to the various perks Lucas grants them, as well as his actual, material contributions. When the group is ready, Lucas suggests they all swap stories about what led them to volunteer here.
The five volunteers and the pastor encourage the newcomer to go first, and he deftly weaves a tale that incorporates bits and pieces of the backstory he constructed for himself at his job. He explains that he grew up as the only child of a family in a small town and that he has been volunteering in minor capacities his whole life. When Lucas is out of view of everyone he reaches into his inventory and pulls out his nifty arcane potion and downs it. The instant that the golden liquid touches his lips his power begins to flow back into him, suffusing his very soul. Minutes later the lad is welcoming guests and visitors to the church. People excitedly greet him, stunned in two different ways by his appearance.
Firstly there is the fact that Lucas is stunning, aesthetically. No matter one's preferences, no one can honestly deny his wholesome movie star looks, and no one tries to. To achieve this task the eager go-getter has a clipboard and is stationed near the entrance to the part of the church that houses the kitchen where the chefs made the food. Every time someone new eats the food he spelled to be restorative the figure has to deal with paused time, but only the first time someone lifts some of the ensorcelled food to their lips, and each time his excitement at the prospect of obtaining a new class grows more intense.

Such individuals also sometimes notice how immediately the pain they're in lessens, their old aches and pains fading and in some cases disappearing altogether. They don't know about the magic that is repairing their bodies, the sacred energies that course into them with every faint bite or spoonful of food they eat. These individuals, include homeless youth. teen parents, and college students can't resist the urge to take in the cool glass of water on a hot day that is the charming volunteer. His ability to feign kindness and his almost but not quite eerie sense of their emotional states is enough to allow them to develop crushes, platonic or otherwise, on the figure. And in the space of the hour 40 such individuals come through and eat more of Lucas's cooking, enough to allow him to level up his chef class one more time. He eagerly takes a new class ability, one that allows him to grant food he cooks very minor buffs, though he finds that it's not retroactive.
During this time the pastor gives a very brief address to the crowd of gathered individuals, and introduces Lucas to everyone though Lucas has already been social enough and diligent enough to do that himself. At the same time when the next to last person to eat grabs a spoonful of soup and lifts it to her lips she is unknowingly responsible for time freezing and Lucas gaining a new class, The excited hero immediately changes classes and gains a boost to his intelligence and charisma as a result of it as well as just enough experience to boost the power of "Support", making this the first time that a perk of his has been directly strengthened to a quantifiable extent.

In layman's terms all of the efforts of his allies by a tiny but noticeable margin and weakens the efforts of his enemies by an equal amount. The perk also allows for buffs or debuffs to affect all allies or enemies in close proximity to each other, but Lucas has not had many chances to buff allies or fight enemies. Thanks to "Master of All" and his decision to swap classes to "Fighter" he manages to level up both his "Mage" and his "Fighter" class, opting to give himself a boost to his endurance as a class skill for "Fighter", and a boost to the rate at which he regenerates arcane energy as his class skill for "Mage". It is during this time that Lucas figures out that for his classes to level up he needs to gain class-based experience, but this is the first time that he has seen that he can level a class up without having the class equipped, there just seems to be some relative debuff to the experience gained by the classes he doesn't have equipped. This insight boosts his intelligence, the realization itself serving as a sort of training of the attribute.
By the time Lucas returns to his apartment he is immensely satisfied with the day he has had. The moon is visible in the night's sky when he steps into his apartment he is ready to spend the rest of the day honing his skills and gaining valuable experience. This particular spell lets him teleport objects he can see and hit with a small magical ray, causing light, small objects he hits to appear in his hand. The mage's skills with this are enough to allow him to hit a kitchen knife with it and teleport it to him without any issues. Lucas's mind fills with possibilities as he takes in the wicked potential of this spell. Still, the spell costs enough that he can only cast it once or twice without waiting for his pool of arcane energy to recover which limits it's usefulness somewhat but that's only a short term problem.
Monday rolls around and when it does Lucas is delighted to find that he is familiar enough with his surroundings that he settles into a routine. The jumper almost immediately throws himself into his work the minute he arrives at the office and he quickly grinds the day away. The only notable event is his realization that Amy is developing a crush on him, something he notices during lunch when he is eating with her and their small cadre of colleagues, when she eagerly asks him about volunteering. On Monday afternoon the lad goes to the gym and works out, taking another dancing class and leveling up the class partway through the workout. On Tuesdays he works out, including taking Zumba, a boxing class, and swimming. On Wednesdays he does meal prep and stays at home honing minor stuff. On Thursday he does some sort of volunteering, and on Fridays he actually relaxes and does something like writing or website design. The weekends are filled with volunteering and city exploration.

On Thursday he does some sort of volunteering, and on Fridays he actually relaxes and does something like writing or website design. The weekends are filled with volunteering and city exploration.
During this time his classes, other than chef, dancer, and mage, are slow to level up. He actively practices magic, he is a regular chef, and he turns a passive admiration he once had for dancers into something he is surprisingly passionate about. He also begins to volunteer at the hospital he visited, spending a few hours every Saturday in a small room in the back of the hospital looking through paperwork and doing stuff he didn't anticipate a hospital volunteer doing. Still, he quickly racks up trust and admiration from the few hospital staff members who know of him, thanks to his ability to just not complain, coupled with his stunning effectiveness at what he does.
As he begins to approach the two month mark he is a level 10 chef, level 12 dancer, and a level 6 mage, and a level 3 fighter, rogue, and white mage, as well as a level 4 cleaner. It turns out that each class levels a bit differently, which has inadvertently skewed his leveling but he's become an advanced enough chef that his food can be actively beneficial or detrimental and that there is now a 5% reduction in how long it takes him to cook something. He can also now gain modifiers to his interactions with people who've eaten several dishes he's made, provided they enjoyed them. His dancing is similarly useful, and he is a much better mage now than he once was. The figure can also cast spells and use an ability that prevents something from getting dirty, or magically cleanse objects. Despite all of this he remains a level 1 human, having not gained any experience that would level him as a member of his species; it seems that for him to gain such experience he needs to engage in combat and even when he's sparred with people he doesn't fight them to unconsciousness.
He leaves his apartment on the last Monday in October with a smile on his face, ready to begin a new work week.

 | Hey Everyone, submitted by Hour_Training_832 to pokemonrng [link] [comments] Right now I’m on a journey to try and get as many Legendary and mythical Pokemon as I can that are currently locked behind the 3DS wall outside of paywalled Pokemon Go. I have already Completed Pokemon Blue to obtain a Shiny Mew, and Pokemon Silver to get a Shiny Celebi, however now it was time to tackle Pokemon Emerald to get a Shiny Deoxys and Jirachi! Shiny WISHMKR Jirachi :) To do any of this, I have to start a fresh copy of Pokemon Emerald so I can RNG all of my encounters. If you are unfamiliar with them, please check out I'm a Blissey, or Papa Jefe to get familiar, but I’m sure most people are atleast semi familiar in this subreddit. They can explain it way better than I can since this is the first time I have ever RNG’d anything in a game. In layman's terms though I chose Pokemon Emerald for a couple reasons, firstly, because it has all of the legendaries in it, and access to Deoxys on birth Island, and secondly, because unlike Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon emerald starts on advance or seed 0 everytime you start it up, so it’s very easy to identify how many advances (time) the game needs to hit a shiny frame, since each PID and SID combination has a certain amount of shiny spreads that are available to them in a given game. This means, through normal shiny hunting means, Pokemon Emerald is probably one of the worst games to shiny hunt in, but from an RNG standpoint, it's one of the best! Video Version of this here - https://youtu.be/kJFrerrjL6s?si=9lOn46Ex-0thskSv With that semi brief explanation out of the way - it was time to start hunting for a shiny Mudkip, this took a long time to get, since this was the first time I had actually tried this, I had to keep going back to videos to learn how to calibrate correctly, if I was using the right timer setting in Eon timer etc… but after 8 hrs I finally found my Shiny Mudkip! I named It Jam, since I had recently done a shiny only playthrough of Pokemon Scarlet’s DLC and used a Shiny Mudkip named Jelly… so it only seemed fitting! Now I can start on my journey to beat the Hoenn region, along the way I catch a shiny Electrike that I named Blueberry, Aron named Strawberry, Poochyena named Marmalade, Numel named Blackberry, Trapinch named Boysenberry, and finally Bagon named Apple Buttr. Bagon I actually got on the second reset which surprised me. To beat the base game it took me about 17 hrs. Since I cleared the Pokemon League I decided to hunt a Shiny Beldum that I named Earl Grey, because I had found an Earl Grey Jam that someone had made lol. Now with the game finally complete it was time to start getting ready to create a Glitch pokemon so I could perform ACE that would allow me to get anything and everything I wanted in Pokemon Emerald! ACE SET UP Now it was time to start getting the necessary Pokemon to do this glitch, as there are 2 pokemon in the game that fit perfectly for what we need to get done, first I need a Ralts to trade for a Seedot in Rustboro city named Dots, and then a Volbeat for Pluses the Plusle in Fortree city. Once I have those I need to make clean backups using the battle tower cloning glitch in case I mess up, which is the main reason I had to do the whole game before starting on this glitch! Once I have all the clones set up it's time to start Prepping for Dekamark! Creating the Dekamark - Go Beyond Pluses Ultra! Papa Jefe’s video covers all the differences between each version of emerald, so what you need to do might be slightly different, since I’m playing an english copy of Emerald I EV train my Dots with 17 HP EV’s and 6 Attack EV’s and deleted all of Plusles moves besides growl using the move deleter. Once I have done that, I’m ready to initiate the glitch, I clone several copies of the changed Pokemon and put them in box two in a specific orientation that increases your success rate of getting a working glitch egg Pokemon. These are the following. Plusle slots: 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 Seedot slots: 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 I now give my Shuppet 2 HP ups, because I need it's HP to be odd (if you do this you might only need 1, HP just needs to be odd) Then I went to Route 101 to catch a low level Pokemon, put it in my party with Shuppet, and a flying type Pokemon. This is where I save to make sure if anything gets messed up there is an easy reset point. After fainting the low level Pokemon on my team, I use curse with Shuppet to bring its HP to 1, now it's time to deposit my flying type Pokemon and use a pomeg berry on my shuppet. Since I’ve used two HP Up’s on this Pokemon once I use a pomeg berry it actually brings shuppet’s HP value below zero. With this done I engage into a battle, check the summary of a Pokemon, try the switch Pokemon hold up on the dpad for 5 seconds to go into the games memory cache to alter data that is going to allow me to get the glitched Pokemon egg. Once complete I go back to the battle screen and try to run, but it says I’ve fainted and returns me to the pokemon center, with a quick check of the now corrupted eggs that were plusle and dots before the glitch, I can see if it worked, unfortunately I had all bad eggs, I had to run this part about 7 times to get the Egg that I needed, a hatchable egg, named Dots in a Nestball. Once I found the egg I take an uncorrupted clone of Dots and put it in box 10 slot 19 thanks to Slepnir - https://pastebin.comSleipnir17 I then use a simple code to hatch the Decamark egg without the game crashing. Turning the dots into a glitched Decamark pokemon (this is dicey because you cannot hover over it, there's a couple more steps I needed to do, I needed to catch a Pokemon and name it x♂zN6FFxC and place this pokemon into Box 10 slot 20 next to the Decamark. Then exit the box and save, booting the game back up, and using another of Slepnir’s codes to finally have a stable Pokemon that we can use to execute code from anywhere! I also at this point used the E-Shark code generator to create a pokemon from nothing, and then turn it into an exit bootstrap Pokemon with another eshark code so that I can execute codes using 13 boxes instead of 14 boxes. https://e-sh4rk.github.io/CodeGeneratoindex.html Now it's time to RNG some Shiny Legendary Pokemon! I head off to catch the Regi’s, using the power of RNG I catch each of these in 3 attempts. The hardest part of getting them was actually catching them, so I went and found a shiny Shroomish so I could make the next set of Legendaries much easier to get! Luckily I found this one in 5 attempts on my shiny resets. Now there were 5 more Legendary Pokemon to tackle with Breloom, so I used the Box glitch to obtain the Eon Ticket, and catch a shiny Latias after 5 resets. But how was I going to obtain the other Lati? Since one is a roamer, and the other sits on this island? Well my little Decamark of course! I use it to respawn the Lati on the island, and then swap it with Latios! I caught this one after 3 Resets since It was calibrated from the battle with Latias previously, I was feeling pretty great about how good I was getting at RNG’ing encounters at this point in the game. It's definitely a front loaded effort to learn. With the Lati duo out of the way it was now time to go after the box legendaries from Generation 3, I started with Groudon which actually took quite a bit of time, I think 15 resets, because walking forward felt much different than pressing A. Fortunately Kyogre seemed much easier, probably because i was used to moving to engage the battle so hitting the right shiny frame became much easier. Finally, one of the best shinies that's ever been released… Rayquaza. I was able to hit this Pokemon’s shiny frame after only 3 resets and seeing its shiny form gets me excited every single time. Seriously one of my favorites. With the Legendaries down, I was feeling really great about my progress, however it was now time to move forward to the Mythical pokemon. Deoxys was up first, with a quick Decumark code, I gained access to Birth Island, and after a little trouble with the puzzle on the island. I got Deoxys with 4 resets to find one of the coolest shiny Mythical Pokemon. I also decided to snag Mew, which even though the English Mew on Faraway island isn’t legit, I wanted to still grab. This one actually gave me a little more difficulty, but after 18 resets and finding the right shiny frame I finally got it! Now I have every single Legend and Mythical in Pokemon emerald besides Jirachi… But how the heck was I actually going to get Jirachi? This Pokemon only has 9 Shiny frames that are legitimate - https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/rdxEbTm4/ and anything outside of that would be flagged as hacked or illegal.. So now the Journey starts for obtaining a complete legitimate Jirachi. I start by changing my Trainer ID to the ID that Wishmkr Jirachi has to be by using Esharks code generator to make a box spread that changes my ID to the desired number 20043, once thats complete I now have to change my Secret ID to 0 which is the required Secret ID spread for a legitimate Wishmkr. We have to check to see if this works however, so before I do the change I catch a Pokemon and Nickname it KFC, change the SID by using Eshark Codes Generator again with my glitch Pokemon. Then go to the name rater to see if it allows me to change its nickname, and thankfully it didn’t so we were successful changing Our Secret ID. Now there was only one thing left to do. Change our Actual name to Wishmkr. We can do this by using Slepnir’s Box code which changes our name to whatever we enter into box 5. Use our Dekamark glitch pokemon again and now I am the WishMkr! (you will need to you use Wayback machine with Slepnir’s Pastebin 3 otherwise you will not be able to view it) With all of my prepwork is done, It was time to finally start hunting a Jirachi.. So I use a box code to create a custom outbreak of Jirachi on any route that I want. I very quickly head over to the route I spawned the mass outbreak on, and encounter a Wurmple… Well that didn’t work, so I found another Massive mass outbreak code to use, but the pokemon only spawn on Mirage Island, So I firstly need to spawn Jirachi’s on Mirage Island. And then with one more code I finally spawned Mirage island, now I just needed to see if it worked.. I flew to Pacifidlog town and thankfully Mirage island had spawned, I just needed to see if Jirachi’s outbreak had worked this time, and Thankfully it had! Now I just needed to find the PID of a Legitimate Shiny Wishmkr Jirachi, I looked for 12hrs but couldn’t find a legitimate Pokemon with the correct PID that would work for Jirachi.. So what do I do, was I screwed? Shiny Wishmkr Jirachi was the only reason I even started down the path for Gen 3…all the other Pokemon besides Deoxys can really be caught in newer games…. things were not looking good. Then I found a Reddit post about someone performing this glitch as well that solved my issue... Essentially the spread I was looking for didn’t exist. I needed to use a Synchronize Pokémon with the nature I was looking for, which happened to be serious, and use method 1 in PokeFinder. I also needed to use the PID to IV calculator and then after doing this I FINALLY found the right PID for a legitimate shiny WISHMKR Jirachi… Word of advice, if you plan on doing this, don’t do it the way I did, because the only thing that separates Wynaut, which is the Pokemon we switched out Jirachi for in the mass outbreak for, is the level the Pokemon spawns at, so I couldn’t tell if I was 1 frame off, or 100 frames off. I would use Eshark’s code to change the species of the pokemon that is the correct PID like Cooked Fish meat did, or just freeze the frame on the seed before and then use sweet scent to get your encounter… . Thankfully after riding the struggle bus for about another 8 hrs hunting this Pokemon I finally found a shiny! And even though this was a struggle, it was super satisfying to see shiny Jirachi show up on our screen, as this Pokemon at this point had taken about 60 hrs to see… Now there was only one problem left…this Pokemon still shows its caught in the wrong game, Shiny Wishmakr Jirachi can only come from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Thankfully using a Eshark generator code to change the pokemon’s encounter data to make it be from the correct game. Now the Jirachi shows it was encountered in Littleroot town at level 5, and with a quick change back to my Original Trainer ID and Secret ID This Wishmkr Jirachi shows it was encountered in a fateful encounter, which is the flag this Pokemon needs to have to be considered a legitimate Pokemon. The Last Step! I needed to check to see if this Pokemon was actually considered Legal in PKhex, since PKhex apparently has better legitimacy checks then Pokemon does, and thankfully after porting in my save file I can see that I have finally created a Shiny WISHMKR Jirachi, that was encountered in fateful encounter in Pokemon Ruby. I’ve done a lot of shiny hunts, legal shiny hunts. And I have to say that RNGing this Shiny Jirachi was one of the most difficult things I’ve attempted. Partially because I did it the hard way, but also because the Pokemon isn’t supposed to be easy to obtain. I was so thankful to finally snag this! With this complete I did some more competitive hunting and beat Japanese emerald to send a legit shiny mew up to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as well. I believe there is only one more game I can so like I did this game, which I am super excited about completing in the near future! |

Back home again.. and i lied yesterday.. It wasn't that no one knew that i came back.. the cat sitters.. they had to know when i was back again.. Yesterday i had a little visit from one the cat sitters (2 people, it's a couple)
It was nice.. But i do feel, that i can't be 100% me.. the interest is not there.. like i shared before.. i need to share.. It's all feelings and thoughts and.. how it left an impression on me. And they can hear it for 30 minutes or so, before the interests fades away.. It becomes harder for me to share when i feel that i don't have their attention and i only feel more lonely then.. But they are my good friends and i just have a lot to share.. It's too much... (that's why i write and i am being vague here on purpose, not sharing everything, it's still the internet..) Plus i can't... i have 5+ weeks of experience in me.. Every thought is like cross-chatter and i can't express myself very well then. Perhaps i am just tired now, hence the cross-chatter.
I want to share on the moment (like what i am doing now), for example in chat groups, but then nobody responds.. I am literally talking to myself and now it's faded, it became a memory and i don't have the words anymore, i can't share the wonders and awe i experienced then.. I made a lot of photos, most of them are 'shit' though, out of focus, bad composition and etc... so it's boring to watch.. i need to filter and edit many of them..
Anyway.. But i am feeling it. My energy is already fading. I don't know what to do.. well i do know.. i need to clean my house, lets start with that, it's full with cat hair, dust and it's a mess.. It's a lot of work, so i'll be focussing on that for now, but then i distract myself by being here, hehe, but i am so tired, to be fair, i haven't slept very well in the last 5 weeks. Did i even sleep 2 days ago? I was on a airplane, not much sleeping then.. Crying kids, it was a kids fest on the airplane, but thank god for my noise cancelling earphones, that was a good investment. The fact that i am crashing now is understandable, but i don't want to sit still.. and what am i doing now? Sitting still..) Being in my house.. like i used to do before.. It just feels wrong.. i don't wanna be here, but where do i want to be? I dont know...
What do normal people do on days like today? It's sunny, it's sunday.. Visit friends? During the holiday i had no problems.. I was alone, I just go and do my thing, there is so much to do and see, so much to experience, here i feel lost.. Directionless, i don't know what to do.

Well.. i think i'm gonna clean a bit and go to bed soon, i need to catch up (it's not even afternoon and i am already falling asleep..)
But my cats.. they did miss me.. even when the 2 cat sitters came, she also mentioned that.. We were sitting on the couch and both cats were sitting with me.. both being in a deep sleep.. they do remember me and they do enjoy my company and they feel safe with me.. That's a nice feeling.. What would i do without the love of animals? They are my friends, my little buddies.
Also.. i'm gonna share it here, and not in the other sub, but i am done, with the INFP-sub. It was a good sub for me, for a while. I learned a lot about myself. But in my opinion it has really downgraded to BS. What a bunch of idiots (a lot of them, not everybody) So many lost people and i cant talk to them.. i try sometimes.. but to no avail.. They are stuck in their little loop, and they ain't listening and it sucks me in and i can't get them out.. Why do i wanna help? It's so draining sometimes.
Also i am here so connected with the internet world.. I just saw a news item, which brought me down as well.. i want to share, but its negative of course and somebody told me this is not the place to share these things.. so where can i share it? It has been said before, this place is a little sanctuary, also for me.. but if i can't share my own shit.. what kind of sanctuary is it for me? It's like.. why cant i share my shit? I know it's dark and it's hard.. I am alone again, in my own house, amongst friends... aint that funny?
How am i supposed to heal myself, if i see that the world needs healing.. But it's... it's governments i am talking about, it's the social structure, how.. how am i supposed to deal with that? Just accept it? I am not a conformist.. Or even a peaceful guy, i need action, change needs to happen, within me and the outside world. I don't wanna put blinders on, pretend it doesn't exist or it doesn't happen. Look at how many of us are troubled souls.. we need.. action, we need to change so many things about ourselves.
Observe but don't absorb, is a sentence i shared not so long with one of you.. and what am i doing? I am absorbing.. I gotta live to my own advice that i am giving away..

The more i think about it, the more i feel i should do it.. Move out of the country, be in a place that i love and enjoy. In nature, in the mountains, in the sea with the fishies, with a culture i love and enjoy.. This culture here is... to shallow for my taste. It's about money and acting cool (not my friends, just.. this country in general) Being at parties and being seen as if you are cool.. It's empty and drug-fueled. (alcohol fueled, that's how a lot of people stay happy, by drinking and laughing)
They ignore problems, they ignore self-therapy and meditation.. (oeoe.. i need to meditate.. you know what.. after my post i will meditate for 30 minutes, lets do that.. lets be silent and be in the now) This country i live in.. it's a good country, better than many other countries.. wealthy, a caring government, we have health care and things like that.
But the people.. i mean, they are good people, but i am an outsider.. Not much family here, my friends have families, there is no time for me, they have their own lifes.. and i must find my own life too.
Lets meditate! Are you joining? Meditate everyday for 30 minutes (that's my minimum, Alan Watts said 40, but that's pushing it, lol.. hehehehe, if i can keep this up. I will meditate daily for an hour, that's my goal. )
I like to put rainforest sounds while meditating, but you have to be picky which background sounds you put on, some ambient sounds start to repeat itself and that becomes annoying, it distracts me from the meditation., because i can hear the loop, hehehe. 😅

I was just approached by two Korean girls, who started by asking me if I lived/studied here and knew any good places to eat. They were from a neighbouring city.
After I told her I was just travelling she kept asking questions; like where I have been, what I’d like to do here. She also asked questions about if I have traveled before and where; this opened a story of me going on an exchange program.
Most of these questions I answered and threw back at her, to give the quick rundown about her:
Eventually she starts reading my feelings about who I am, and starts asking difficult questions like; how do you experience life, and what I would like to change about it. There were so many more questions but due to the accent and the crowded streets I found it difficult to understand every 100% correctly.
Alarm bells were already ringing at this point; because of the questions she was asking and the fact one of the two girls hasn’t said a word yet, we were talking for about an hour at this point.
Eventually I state that life just is really flat to me, and don’t experience and ups and downs anymore; she asks why I think that is, and what the last time was that I did.
I give basically no answers because I honestly don’t know.
She then begins to tell about traditional korean ceremony, where they think about their ancestors, write down a wish on a piece of paper, and burn it. (She gave a more in depth and descriptive version of what I said here)
It just happened to that one of those ceremonies one was taking place in about 30-ish minutes and was 30 minutes away by subway.
I declined, after some prodding as to way i decline, I said it was instinct, not wanting them to feel bad, more making it look like I didn’t trust them.
She uses more psychological powers in order to convince me, but I denied again.
She then felt sorry for me that I denied, and asked me that if i were given the option again I would say yes, I promised her I would do so, and went of.
Was this an elaborate scam or did I just deny myself a cool experience?
PS I have experienced being accidentally indoctrinated by a Japanese cult thing

I learned about this only in 2023 when preparing declarations for 2021 and 2022. I recalculated profits according to the new rules, which resulted in ~15.000 short-term income over the years (2017-2020). We declared the 2021 portion as a part of 2021 declaration. My tax advisor also sent a e-mail to tax office regarding years 2017-2020 (which were already processed), including the short-term gains. The long-term gains were much higher (very low 6 digits). In that email to FA, she asked to retroactively amend those declarations to include the new gains.
This took place in late 2023. Now my tax advisor learned from FA that in January I (or the tax advisor - not clear and they won't say) should have received a letter from "another department" of the FA. According to my tax advisor, FA employee was secretive about it, which my tax advisor explains means that this is from bußgeld- und strafsachenstelle. We didn't receive the letter (I 100% didn't not so sure about the tax advisor, as she missed quite a few other letters from FA). It's not clear why they didn't send more letters. The FA employee said that she asked the other department to contact us again.
I understand, this means that there is a proceeding i.r.t. tax evasion. I'm spending days trying to understand how and actually what exactly could have happened. If they disagree with my short/long split, AFAIU, they'd just ask or issue a tax return with different split. It's not clear why would they open bußgeld- ioder strafsachen proceedings without further inquires, especially given that I voluntarelly disclosed that income. I understand we'll need to wait for further info, but does anyone here have any idea what might have happened? Of course this all will be speculation, but I'm extremely eager to understand any potential reasons.

Cleared CISSP today after 4 weeks of on and off preparation. Had to answer 150 questions with 45 mins remaining. After reading this subreddit and hearing people insist no mock/practice is close to the real test, I decided to keep it minimum when it comes to resources.
Materials used:
One thing that helped me: I cleared the CC by ISC2 last December (it was free of cost that time). So I guessed how grueling this is going to be, specifically the way ISC2 questions are worded. Also, it was the same exam center and same processing, familiarity helped in all ways.
When people say they thought they were failing during the exam: I understand what you meant.
Overall, the exam is made to be cruel however do not lose hope. All the best to those preparing and shout out to everyone that cleared at 125/100.
Experience: 4 years in IAM and 2 years as GRC.

This might seem like a plothole, but it actually isn't. Sid didn't know Strelok personally:

About Sakharov - There are plenty of possible explanations for the fact that he doesn't recognize Strelok, but the closest we have to an official explanation is included in the design document of the original storyline of the prequel, where it's said that Strelok's face was bandaged at the time:

Of course, it's not really canon, but it still works.
Why won't military just bomb the Zone?
First of all, they already tried but failed:

Only SoC presents this idea. Neither Clear Sky nor Call of Pripyat mentioned anything about Zone's expansion. In fact, Hermann in CoP just said that Zone is evolving, while Loki directly said that it isn't getting bigger:

What happened to Scar?
There can be many answers to this question. Scar's fate could have turned out in many ways - perhaps, if the brainwashing process failed, he became simply zombified; if it was successful, he could've died while being transported in the death truck; if this didn't happen, he had a clearly defined task to perform, and could die while trying to do it; if he survived, he might still be wandering around the Zone as an amnesiac.
It's also possible that he simply died during the emission, or was captured but somehow managed to overcome the brainwashing process and escaped from whatever laboratory it was taking place in.
Monolith's weaponry. How do they have so many guns?
It can be partially explained by a couple of things. First thing that should be noted is that Monolith before trilogy used to be different faction. About their suits - there can be more than 1 answer.
It's interesting to point out that Monolith suit was located in lab X-18. Either the faction stashed them there, or they were here before. A possible explanation could be that such suits were used by guards of the secret facilities in the Zone before the 2nd disaster

It's interesting to point out that Monolith suit was located in lab X-18. Either the faction stashed them there, or they were here before. A possible explanation could be that such suits were used by guards of the secret facilities in the Zone before the 2nd disaster

Other than a fact that Monolith faction of the trilogy had members from older Monolith who wore similar uniform, dead bodies of Monolithians in Clear Sky, that are scattered over the Zone very well could be the dead bodies of older Monolith faction

A very close friend of mine (25m) and his wife just had a baby and we had talked about my husband and I (27f) coming up to visit to see them and meet their baby in a couple of months. He recently told me that is wife has never really been a fan of mine with assumptions that he would cheat on her with me and I am 100% sure that's not the case. In the past, she's asked him to no longer communicate with me so we didn't talk for about a year (though from my perspective, he just went ghost and never said why). We finally were "allowed" to talk regularly again when she met me in person since they live out of state and things had been fine. I can already tell he's starting to avoid me again since having the baby and he told me in the past that he usually does stop talking to me when there's trouble at home. My husband and I have talked a lot about it and wondered if it would be a better option to just cancel our trip up there since I don't want to cause issues between them, especially after finding out that she really didn't want him talking to me at all in the first place and she still seems a little cold/weird towards me despite attempting to form a friendship with her as well. I just feel rude canceling this trip but I don't want any unnecessary drama. Word vomit but aita?

Hebrews 1:6 In most translations of the Bible, people will read that God brought his firstborn into the "world." Many people are led to think the writer is talking about God the Father bringing the pre-existence Son into the world and into the womb of Mary and then the angels are expected to worship baby Jesus, "Let all the angels of God worship him." However, the word here is referring to the heavenly economy of God and his angels. The writer tells us explicitly that he has been speaking of the world to come, "For He did not subject to angels the world to come, about which we are speaking" (Hebrews 2:5). The same Greek word is used here as Hebrews 1:6. Hence, Hebrews 1:6 can hardly be a reference to God bringing a pre-existent Jesus into the planet earth and into the womb of Mary. Baby Jesus was not born into the "world to come." In chapter 1 of the book of Hebrews, two other factors show us what the writer has in mind. In verses 4-5, the writer quotes the second Psalm and God's promise to David at 2 Samuel 7:14. In context, these verses are pertaining to the risen Jesus who had given purification for sins and had become superior to the angels having inherited a better name than them (1:3-4). And like Paul at Acts 13:30-33, the writer applies the second Psalm, "You are my son, Today I have begotten you," to the risen Jesus. In the same way, the promise to David, "I will be a Father to him and he will be a Son to me" is applied to the risen Jesus. It is derived from the Greek word(s) for house or household. A "household" is the people who live together in a dwelling. The word oikoumenē has been commonly defined as "habitable earth." This definition gives people the notion that an oikoumenē is wherever people are able to reside. However, this is obviously not what the word means as the following passages demonstrate. The word oikoumenē refers to the residents themselves, a population of people, an economy of people. Like the Greek word for "household," the word oikoumenē refers to the people themselves. Including the two occurrences in the book of Hebrews shown above, the following lists every occurrence of this word in the New Testament: Observe how every single use of the Greek word oikoumenē is referring to a population of people. Each system and organ in the human body is designed by the Greatest Creator. Even those trivial body parts have great functions. For example, there are several types of hairs on human bodies with distinct forms and functions. The head hair is designed to protect and beautify the head. It can grow long. According to the Bible, “But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.” The eyebrows can divert sweat and rain, preventing them into the eyes. That’s why they are lined above the two eyes. Eyelashes can prevent the dust and other things from entering the eyes. That’s why they are lined on the sides of the eyelids. Also they stand forward in a special curve because it wouldn’t hinder the eyesight or pierce into the eyes when closing the eyes. If the eyebrows and eyelashes are too long, they will hinder the eyesight. That’s why they wouldn’t grow as long as the hair or beards. The nasal hairs can filter the inhaled air. That’s why they grow inside the nostril and stand sideways and outwards. If they stand inwards, the other things will find it easy to come into the nostrils and difficult to go out. The armpit hairs can prevent the partial friction and help the sweat evaporate. Without the armpit hairs, we have to raise our arms. Otherwise the skin under the arm will become inflamed because of the friction and moist. Required by the function, the armpit hairs cannot grow as long as the head hairs, or as short as the eyebrows. Besides, they are soft and curving. If they are rigid and coarse, they will hurt the skin. And cilia grow on the intestinal epithelium. The cilia grow downward and vibrate together. The vibrating waves move downward from upward to help move down the intestinal contents. Cilia also grow on the airway and bronchus epithelium. However, they grow and vibrate in the opposite direction as those on the intestinal epithelium. Only in this way can they move the sputum upward to the throat and spit them. If they grow downward, the airway and bronchus would get stuck by the sputum and the humans would die from it. Now I wish to take two simple reflections of human bodies as an example. When foreign matters enter the nostrils or airways, they will arouse two protective reflections, sneeze or cough, which is designed to repel the foreign matters. But due to different situation, these two reflections differ in their approaches. The foreign matters in the nostrils are not urgent so the sneeze reflection can be prepared in a composed way. First, inhale slowly; open the mouth, and the soft place move upward to block the nostril. Then breathe in enough air through the mouth, and the pleural body contracts sharply to emit the air in the lungs quickly. When the emitting reaches its peak, the tongue rises abruptly to block the mouth to repel the air to go out swiftly through the nostrils. In this way the foreign matters in the nostrils are driven out. However, if the foreign matters enter the airway, it is an emergent situation. If the foreign matters are not driven out timely, the life will be put at risk. The inhaling is strictly forbidden because it will make the foreign matters go deeper and cause suffocation. So the cough doesn’t include the inhaling. Instead, the glottis closes immediately. At the same time, the pleural body contracts suddenly and adds the lung air pressure extremely. When the pressure is at its strongest point, the glottis opens suddenly and the lung air sends out explosively, compelling the foreign matters in the airway to the throat via the glottis. At this time, the soft place rises to block the nostrils. The foreign matters are spit out through the mouth. If the tongue and the soft place perform the same way as in the sneeze, the foreign matters emitted out of the airway will enter the nostrils, causing another trouble. In these two reflections, the body parts must cooperate closely. Any failure in the coordination will lead to the failure of the reflection, causing serious consequences. So these activities are not done freely. Instead, they are done as required by their functions and set procedures. These procedures are not learnt or practices. The program has been rooted in our brain nerve structure (nerve nucleus) when we are born. Otherwise, the babies will not survive. The advanced computer science has made it possible to simulate these activities. However, the simulation requires 3 conditions: 1. Device simulating the inhale and exhaling of human mouth, nose, throat, pleural and the sensing device; 2. The central control equipment simulating nerves and body system (compute, input and output devices). The above two devices are hardware. And software is also needed, namely (3). A program composed in strict compliance with the requirements to control the performance and procedure of each link, and arrange them in perfect coordination. All the three conditions are imperative. Otherwise the reflections can’t be realized. The program itself is not a substance structure. Instead, it is a smart use and spiritual result. There will be no such a thing as the program without the smart use. So we have to ask, the program is composed by the humans and stored in the computer, how about the control program in the human brain. Is it also composed by someone and stored in the human brain? Sneeze and cough are the simplest examples. There are numerous automatically controlled physical, bio-chemical and pathological human body activities, which are even more sophisticated than reflections of cough. Even today, some of them remain mysteries to us. So how are these sophisticated control programs composed? And where do they come from? Now let’s have a look at the sensory organs on human bodies. Why do we have two ears? The reason is that one ear is not able to identify the direction. With the ears lying on two sides of the head, the sound reaches the ears in sequence of time. Based on the slight receiving time difference, the brain can judge where the sound comes from. The auricle is the most outward component of the ear. It can introduce the sound into the external auditory canal. Within the auricle there is a thin layer of cartilage helping to retain the form of auricle, giving it wonderful elasticity and protecting it from the clashes. Without the cartilage, the auricle is just two useless pieces of skin hanging on the head side. If the thin bone is inside the auricle, it will break easily even if when you are sleeping on your side, damaging the auricle. There is fuzz on the outer segment of the external auditory canal preventing the sand and dust. The inner segment secretes cerumen to prevent insects. When foreign matters enter the external auditory canal, it will trigger head shaking, instead of sneeze or cough, to get the matters out. Because the external auditory canal is a blind passage, it is impossible to repel the foreign matters with air. Why don’t the foreign matters in the nostrils arouse the head-shaking reflection to repel them? That’s because the nostrils of humans almost lie in the middle of the head. The shaking is not able to produce enough centrifugal force. Besides, the human nostrils face downward and it is improper to repel the foreign matters by shaking the head. The sound is produced by the mechanical vibration of objects and is transmitted by the air fluctuation, or the sound waves. The human ears are actually working like a precise mechanical vibration monitor. In the inner ear there are a number of keyboards with different sizes, producing nerve impulses produced by echoing with corresponding frequencies. The brain, in accordance with the features of these impulses, identifies the strength, tunes and timbre of the sounds. We must note though there are many sensory organs in human bodies, only the inner ear is protected by the most solid and firm bones. In fact, it lies in the cave part of the temporal bone. Of all the sensory organs, only the ears monitor the mechanical vibration, which needs a relatively fixed position. Otherwise, it is not able to monitor the sound. If the inner ear lies in the soft tissues, when the sound wave arrives, the inner ear will vibrate with it. Thus it can hear nothing. Now the inner ear lies in the firm bone and it can’t sense the air vibration. So it is imperative to reduce the density waves to the mechanical vibrations before sending them to the inner ear. And there is such a reduction device at the middle bottom of the external auditory canal, which is called the eardrum. The eardrum has enough space to receive the air pressure. It is thin enough to vibrate when the sound wave arrives. Meanwhile, the eardrum is strong enough to push the transmission device. The long handle of the middle ear cartilage is attached to its inner side, the tensile force of which makes the eardrum sink inside slightly to maintain certain tension. This allows the eardrum to accurately reduce the arriving sound waves into the mechanical vibrations. No matter what the temperature is, the vibration function is not impacted. After the sound waves are reduced into the mechanical vibration, some rigid objects are needed to transmit the vibration to the inner ear. Of all body tissues, the most rigid objects are the bones. However, the bones are heavy in general and covered by the soft tissues, which are not suitable for the audio vibration. However, in the tympanic cavity between the eardrum and the inner ear, there are three unique tiny bones with delicate forms measured in millimeters. They are almost completely exposed to the air in the tympanic cavity. These three tiny bones are connected by ligament and form a transmission chain in curve with excellent audio vibration function, able to transmit accurately the vibration of the eardrum to the inner ear. The transmission device can properly multiply the weak vibration and reduce the strong sound wave. All of these structures are the super designs required by the acoustics. There are even smarter designs in the hearing organ. For example, to make the eardrum vibrate freely following the arriving sound waves, the two sides of the eardrums must be exposed to the air. As a result, there is a tympanic cavity full of air in the middle ear. If the cavity is filled by liquids, just as other cavities are, the eardrum is not able to vibrate because the liquids can’t contract. Besides, the cavity does not only need to be filled with air, but also needs to be connected to the outside world with a proper passage, to balance the static air pressure in the cavity with the outside air pressure. Otherwise, the air in the cavity will gradually be absorbed, causing the eardrum to sink excessively or damaging it. When the outside air pressure changes, (such as in mountain climbing, diving, the airplane takeoff or climate change), it will arouse uncomfortable feelings or lead to hearing malfunction. But the middle ear can’t be opened to the outside world directly, just like the external auditory canal or nostrils can. The reason is that the direct exposure will make the arriving waving sound reach the two sides of the eardrums at the same time via the external auditory canal and middle ear passage, counteracting the sound pressure. Thus the eardrums will not vibrate at all, unable to produce the hearing. So it is a difficult problem to connect the middle ear and the outside world. However, the human body, with a smart design, solves this problem. The middle ear is opened at the two sides in the upper rear of the pharynx via a half-opened passage (the so-called auditory tube). The auditory tube is locked in common times and only opened temporarily when taking the swallowing actions, balancing the air pressure in the middle ear shortly. After the swallowing action is over, the auditory tube is locked again. Apart from eating, human body would regularly take swallowing action unconsciously, even when he or she is sleeping. Thus the air pressure in the middle ear can be adjusted from time to time and avoid the hearing from being hindered. Besides, when swallowing, the swallowing segment and the soft palate will definitely rise, blocking the mouth and nostrils against the outside world. So on the moment when the ear and throat are opened shortly, though the air in the throat can enter the middle ear, the sound waves from the outside world are blocked against the middle ear. As a result, the hearing will not be interfered and can receive the outside sound and voice. Only the throat in the body can meet the special demand of the hearing organs. The throat is originally designed as part of the digestion and breathing system, it does not belong to sensory system. However, it can cooperate so smartly with the hearing organs. We have to admire the extremely delicate body-wise design. The vestibule in the inner ear controls the balance of the body. In the vestibule there are 3 semicircular canals. When the body loses balance, the mutually-vertical semicircular canals produce the balance impulse, which triggers the corresponding reflection via the balance center in the medulla brain. Why are there 3 semicircular canals instead of 2 or 4? And why are they mutually vertical? The reason is apparent. Humans live in the 3-dimensional space. There are 3 mutually-vertical movement directions, namely, front and rear, left and right, upward and downward. So the 3 mutually-vertical semicircular canals can monitor the movements. The number less than 3 or more than 3 would be insufficient or redundant. We can see the delicate and smart structure and function, and the supreme wisdom in them. They can’t be the accidental results. As the most important perception of human bodies, vision provides more information than that provided by all other perceptions. The vision is the perception of image and space and the visual organs must have the most precise and accurate structure completely different from other sensory organs. As a result, in the perspective of the embryo-genesis or neuro-anatomy, the main structure of the eyes is not just the common receptor. Instead, it is part of the cerebral cortex. The so-called optic nerves are completely different from other cerebrospinal nerves. In essence, the optic nerves are inner structure in the brain, transmitting the most sophisticated visual information. The eyes function like a precise camera. The retina composed of the photoreceptor cells is just like the films. The crystal, iris and the cornea works like the lens, diaphragm and the filter. However, the precision and automatic adjustment of the eyes is no match of any high-quality cameras. For example, the lens in modern cameras is made of special glass or hard plastics with fixed focal distance. When taking pictures for the landscapes with different distances, the lens position must be adjusted. Otherwise, the image will not be produced on the films. But this is an awkward approach. Imagine when the eyes are watching landscapes with different distances, the eyeballs have to protrude or recess alternatively, which looks ugly or damages the health and function of the eyes. However, the crystal in the eyes are transparent and elastic colloid, which can adjust automatically the focal distance in accordance with the distance of the objects to make sure all the objects can be imaged on the retina, without changing the position of the crystal. Such automatic adjustment function can’t be fulfilled by any camera. If we observe the eyes in the perspective of modern TV technologies, the eyes are more like the television camera, but thousands of times more precise than the television cameras. The TV image is composed of dense pixels (the mixed dark or brilliant light spots). Till now, the best TV image only contains less than 1 million pixels. However, the human eyes can produce image containing 20 billion pixels. Only the eyes can see the details of objects. No matter how clear or accurate the image is, it is still a plan view image. Then how the eyes can provide the dimensional image is a key issue of providing the complete vision. But it is not an easy task at all to convert the flat view image into the dimensional one. For a long time, people have been puzzled by how the conversion is done. Of course, we later knew the smartness and delicacy of the human body shown here. The two eyes send the flat view images they receive into the same nerve center, which contrasts and analyzes the images and judges the distance of the objects based on the slight visual angle difference caused by the position difference of the two eyes. Thus the dimensional image is produced. That’s why people have to have 2 eyes to establish the complete vision. Based on such understanding, humans have invented the dimensional movies. But the above is only the external process of how vision is formed. People have little knowledge about how the visual center works inside. We have to admit that the mysteries of human body structure and functions are beyond the intelligence of mankind. As a matter of fact, the distance judgment with two eyes is the triangulation technique which is precise and automatic. The accurate measurement needs two premises. First, the two eyes must focus on one object at the same time. Otherwise, there will be double vision, which means the one objects will be seen as two objects. As a result, the complete neuromuscular system is equipped on the outside of the eyeballs, making the eyeballs the most flexible and accurate organs. The ciliary muscle inside the eyeballs can adjust the conversion rate of the crystal at any time to focus on the object and form the clearest image. Second, the retina of the two eyes must be strictly symmetrical. Otherwise, the image contrast of the two eyes will become impossible. Furthermore, the images received by the two eyes must be transmitted at the same time to the same visual center for contrast and analysis. There are two visual nerves on the left and right side of the brain, supervising respectively the two sides of the vision field. The two visual nerves contrast the corresponding images coming from the eyes and produce the full-field dimensional images. The pairs of human parts are often symmetrical on the outside. Only the retinas are symmetrical in the same position. Namely, the left side is symmetrical to the left side and the right side symmetrical to the right side of the two retinas. That’s because the light rays come in directly. Otherwise, the visual centers can’t receive the corresponding images or get the coordinated vision. The structural symmetry of the retinas in the two eyes must be accurate to the utmost. Otherwise the images in the two eyes will not comply with each other and the ambiguity will occur. Besides, the corresponding images from the two eyes must be sent to the same visual center. Thus the optic nerves must have the corresponding special structure to realize the cross-transmission of the images. This is the unique “chiasma opticum” unique to the optic nerves. If we use the computers and monitoring cameras to simulate the process of human vision, the input network of the computers has to have a similar chiasm. No other design can do it. Judging from the above, we can find all the human organs, structures and functions have shown the supreme wisdom. And these are the ways they should be. Some people think that human body has some useless organs, such as the thymus gland, appendix, tonsil and coccyx, in order to prove the human structure is imperfect. Some people used to believe that these organs were not that useful. Instead, they tend to arouse diseases such as appendicitis and tonsillitis. If these organs are cut off, it will not have much impact on the human body. In the past, people used to classify spleens and other organs into the useless organs. There was a list of useless organs in the past which included over 100 organs. But the list was long not because these organs are useless but because people at the time were ignorant. The long handle of the middle ear cartilage is attached to its inner side, the tensile force of which makes the eardrum sink inside slightly to maintain certain tension. This allows the eardrum to accurately reduce the arriving sound waves into the mechanical vibrations. No matter what the temperature is, the vibration function is not impacted. After the sound waves are reduced into the mechanical vibration, some rigid objects are needed to transmit the vibration to the inner ear. Of all body tissues, the most rigid objects are the bones. However, the bones are heavy in general and covered by the soft tissues, which are not suitable for the audio vibration. Till now, we cannot find an answer to this question. The atomic physicists are now working hard to find the “elementary particle”. They are called “basic particles” because the scientists don’t expect the substances to be divided limitlessly. So they believe that one day they will find the ultimate component, the “elementary particle”. Of course, the scientists will not ask such question of “what is something composed of?” This is the extremity and everything ends here. The materialists claim that the Universe is limitless and that the materials are eternal and can be divided limitlessly, etc. They are simply the groundless conclusion of the philosophers. And there is an extremity in their logics, the materials. They say that the materials are Alpha and Omega but can’t tell where the materials come from. Now let’s have a look at the math. All numbers come from 1, followed by 2, 3…. You can’t ask what the 1 is because 1 is 1, and not other numbers. It means that 1 is the origin of all numbers. But what fascinates me, is the fact y’all are dumb enough to get caught. You do realize that every Professor lies when they say have special software that detects cheating? It’s just a MOSS check. There are dozens of articles that show you how to evade moss.

One thing that’s always helped me cope with the awareness of our imminent extinction is this reflection on time. I’m sure it’s not novel, but it goes something like this: time only exists insofar as we are conscious of it. Okay no, it exists regardless, but how we experience time is contingent on consciousness. Waiting at the door for your degenerate partner to get their shit together enough to leave the house feels like ages even if it’s technically speaking only 100 seconds. Perceiving every second that passes makes each second feel significant. Being in a year long coma feels like being asleep for a night.

(throwaway since my friends know my main) I am currently 17 (soon to be 18) and I have known I was on the aroace spectrum since I was around 11-12. Up until a few hours ago, I thought that my parents were also on the spectrum because I never once heard of their intimacy in my entire 17 years of living with them, so I never really felt any disconnection between them and myself until now.
Earlier today, my mom and I were in driving somewhere and I forgot how, but the topic of my sexuality was brought up. Ive told them a few times before in passing that I was aroace but I guess they didn't take it seriously because they didn't know what it meant. My parents both grew up in conservative environments in another country and have never heard about the lgbtq community until college, and they still have a very limited knowledge today.
Today when talking about my sexuality, I decided to explain to my mom in detail about aromanticism and asexuality and helped her fully understand my situation. I also decided to tell her my thoughts about her relationship with my dad and suggested the possibility that they may be similar to me, but my mom strongly shot down my assumption and explained that she and my dad were 100% not on the spectrum and she and my dad has sex at least once a month (they're super good at hiding it I guess because I had zero idea). I didn't believe her at first because Ive never seen or heard them exchange any intimate or romantic actions or words to each other and also seen them kiss like maybe once or twice a year. However, I was proven wrong when we arrived home and my mom told my dad about our conversation in the car and my dad agreed with her (he's 100% serious all the time). On top of that, he got super angry at me, telling me "I know nothing" and "no one in my family is aroace." The no romance was apparently a cultural difference.
This came as a big shock to me, as I feel like everything I thought I knew about my parents has been wrong and that the comfort I found in the fact that my parents might have the same experiences and feelings as me even if they didn't fully understand aromanticism and asexuality was wrong. I know my brother who's slightly older than me is 100% heterosexual and now I feel alone in the family. As a bonus, I think both my parents might think that Im "confused" about my sexuality or am lying, given their already limited exposure to lgbtq topics. I do know that they probably won't take what I say about my sexuality seriously, and my mom already mentioned to me the girls from her college who claimed to not want marriage but got married anyways.

This is gonna be probably pretty long and all over the place but I'll try and keep it straight and to the point.
So I have a daughter. She is 11 almost 12. For the first 9+ years of her life her dad had not been involved. ( She was a fortune product of a one night stand) When he showed up almost two years ago it was with some fabricated story that a child support case worker alienated him and threatened him with harassment if he pursued a relationship with his daughter. I did try to reach out a couple times when she was younger trying to encourage a relationship between them and all attempts went ignored. He says this is because he was afraid I was setting him up. Well up until this past December I took him at his word. He was semi involved until that point. In December he met a woman and all contact stopped minus a few check ins and multiple inappropriate messages to me considering he was in a relationship. Each time this happened I would lay a boundary. During one of these contacts he promised he'd send his child support and $100 for Christmas/Birthday gift for her. That did not happen. He instead sent me a dirty video saying he "hoped that made up for it" 🤮🤮🤮 at this point I lost my iiisssshhhhh on him and told him essentially he was in a relationship and needed to knock it off. I didn't want to see that and it was disrespectful to me and his partner.
He moved in with this partner within a month of meeting her. Red flag right?
Before he met her I was trying to help him find an apartment locally as he lives 200 miles away. I absolutely advocated for him to have a relationship with his daughter from the second he showed up because I've never been the type to keep my children from their father unless it was for good reason. He was supposed to get her a phone and pay for it so they could maintain contact. Never happened. I supplied the phone and the service and it was silent.
After he had sent me that video I had put him on restricted on FB so I didn't get any messages from him. I finally get a call from him on Valentine's day apologizing for his behavior and letting me know he was sending some child support that day.
Then at some point in March he reaches out again saying he was no longer with this girl and he was sorry for his absence and he'd do better. The following week our daughter's phone caught fire and I let him know (not that he was contacting her anyways). The next day he said his cousin had gifted him a phone and he wanted to send it to our daughter. Cool. Let's do it. Then he texts a few days later saying he would be in a town 45 miles south of me and could I meet him and said girlfriend to receive the phone and bring our daughter so he could see her. (At this point the last I knew him and chick had broken up). I said no thanks you can drop it in the mail and I would not be bringing our daughter to meet him with the on again off again girlfriend. I found that extremely disrespectful as he had stopped contact with our daughter when he met this woman and I did not feel comfortable bringing my daughter to meet her or even really dealing with her myself. They obviously have an unstable relationship. He called me petty, we had som choice words and again I didn't hear from him.
Two days ago our daughter was admitted to a psychiatric facility after I found some very concerning diary entries by my daughter talking about Una living herself.
Since coming into our lives my daughter has turned into a mean spirited person. She will fat shame her brothers, hit and push her you get siblings and is just kind of generally abusive to everyone around her. She's told me multiple times she's angry at him and very hurt.
Anyways, I figured he ought to know she's being admitted as this is pretty serious. His response was "we are trying to figure a way up there". As in him and the girlfriend were going to come up while our child was in crisis. I went off again. Telling him again he has chosen this woman over our daughter and how dare he think it's appropriate to bring this woman up here while outr daughter is in crisis. I told him it is up to our daughter if they are involved and just showing up ESPECIALLY with the person she feels (justifyibly so) that he chose over her while she's in crisis. He come back with he has no idea why I'm bringing it back to him and the girlfriend when we should be focusing on getting our daughter better. My stance is, he brought it up. He asked for eventually for us all to be able to be cool and again he implied he was going to try and bring her up here to visit our daughter in the hospital. I laid a boundary. And some how I am the one not focusing on our daughter right now.
This was yesterday and I have not heard one word from him. He has not inquired as to how our daughter is, what facility she is at, how he can contact her. Nothing. I am so irate at this point I am seeing red.
AITA for being so angry at him? In my state abandonment is after 6 months. He was gone for 9 years. He has been inconsistent at best especially the last 6 months or so. Would I be justified in just blocking him and continuing on with our life like he never showed up?

Telling him again he has chosen this woman over our daughter and how dare he think it's appropriate to bring this woman up here while outr daughter is in crisis. I told him it is up to our daughter if they are involved and just showing up ESPECIALLY with the person she feels (justifyibly so) that he chose over her while she's in crisis. He come back with he has no idea why I'm bringing it back to him and the girlfriend when we should be focusing on getting our daughter better. My stance is, he brought it up. He asked for eventually for us all to be able to be cool and again he implied he was going to try and bring her up here to visit our daughter in the hospital. I laid a boundary. And some how I am the one not focusing on our daughter right now.
This was yesterday and I have not heard one word from him. He has not inquired as to how our daughter is, what facility she is at, how he can contact her. Nothing. I am so irate at this point I am seeing red.
AITA for being so angry at him? In my state abandonment is after 6 months. He was gone for 9 years. He has been inconsistent at best especially the last 6 months or so. Would I be justified in just blocking him and continuing on with our life like he never showed up?

 | Tansio Mirai is a Chinese company that has quickly been building in notoriety over the last few years, and I would be surprised if you have not already heard of them. Their Sands and Lands iems in particular were very big sellers and quite highly regarded in their respective price range for high levels of detail. Will they continue to tread that path on their tenth anniversary edition iem? In a simple word, no. The "X" feels like a compilation of everything they have released and all that they have learned. I'll explain how further shortly. submitted by -notausername_ to headphones [link] [comments] The unboxing is a great experience and includes a very nice braided cable, some ear tips, a cleaning tool, case and a tool to change the tuning switches. Tuning switches you say? That will be part of the explanation I mentioned above so please dear reader, don't give up on me so soon ;). The iems themselves are a very nice 3d printed variety, with a beautiful aquamarine type colour that really looks fantastic in the sunlight. They are a hybrid type iem, containing 2 dynamic drivers, + 4BA + 1 Custom Film Retarding Driver. From the manufacturer: Low frequency: 2 x 8mm strong magnet dynamic, hollow coaxial structure, Carbon mixed diaphragm Mid frequency: 2 x Knowles balanced armature High frequency: 2 x Sonion balanced armature Full frequency effect: 1 x custom film retarding driver The custom film retarding driver seems similar to the tech in u12t and the like, not sure if this is considered a "driver" persay, but I am not here to get hung up on semantics. There are three tuning switches as well (123), the default being 020. I spent most of my time hovering between 020 and 003. I can without a doubt say that unlike other iems I have tried with tuning switches, these are legitimately not a gimmick and have a very audible effect on the sound. In a sense it makes them sound like three totally different iems. 100 is extremely bassy, causing bleed into the mids. If you are a supreme basshead this may be your bag. For me, it was far too much and caused a loss of upper detail that is important to me. 020 on the other hand is a w shape style, causing the mids to recess very slightly yet still sound full bodied, and brings the bass down enough to bring out the treble nicely. 003 still has loads of bass but brings the mids forward and brings out much more of the high end detail, without ever getting sibilant. I feel like this was personally my favorite setting, though as always ymmv! This is where I feel Tansio Mirai have really changed their game! Previously known for treble filled iems with gobs of detail, this is a comparably different path for them, yet with the tuning switches you still get the option to get a more detailed, analytical style. Win win for all really! I recommend tip rolling with these, since they have short nozzles I needed a longer tip to really do them justice and get the seal I was looking for. Once I did however, WOW. This leads me to my next section and the one you have probably been patiently waiting for, the sound! First let's start off with what I think is the best part of these, the bass. It is visceral, raw, but also textured and well presented. It does not bleed into the mids or cause these to be a warm iem. The best way I can describe these is a baby IER-Z1R, and considering the price difference, that is probably one of the biggest compliments I can bestow! Seriously, the bass presentation here is fantastic. It is bass you feel deeply, and it is deep with loads of impact. Easily the best I have heard in this price range. The mids are slightly recessed, though mostly in the lower mids. I would say this is done perfectly for my tastes. The mids have loads of detail and sound equally good with male and female vocal ranges. Upper mids have a lot of energy but never getting peaky, shouty or sibilant. Percussion sounds fantastic, guitars have lots of crunch, vocals soar and are never placed too far back. The treble is great, well extended with lots of detail while rolling off at the top to avoid any sibilance or sharpness. Micro detail is present, without being too in your face. They have an airy presentation that leaves lots of room to pick out individual sounds, however I would not consider them analytical at all. Imaging is average for the price. The soundstage is decently wide, however it is taller and deeper than usual in this price giving a pretty 3d or holographic effect uncommon at this price. If you can't tell, I think this is a fantastic IEM, and at the price I think it is an absolute steal. Even at the regular price of 699 usd this would be a competitive IEM. 5/5 |
