What I thought would take 3 hours max just turned into 7. My back is killing me and I'm pretty sure the car isn't running at 100%.
Also, I lost a bolt and also somehow wound up with an extra one.

 | vehicle is a 2001 Silverado with the 5.3 engine. The old compressor went bad. Put a new compressor (Delco) and accumulator (Delco/GM #1522144) in. The top o-ring is what came from the dealership. The bottom oring came out with the old compressor. submitted by ineedtothiink to MechanicAdvice [link] [comments] My issue is the top o-ring doesn't seem to seal or create a tight leak proof seal at all. checked with dealership and also O'Reilly's and they both lost the same oring as the proper one to use. To clarify this is the seal which runs directly to the compressor from the accumulator. So what am I missing here? I can see it's not creating a proper seal |

u/jettasarebadmkay almost forgot to explain what an LS swap even is. But it’s shorthand for newer iterations of the small-block Chevrolet V8 engine. There are many different iterations of them but they’re all very good engines and that’s why they’re so popular.

I have a quick question about my car. 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2.0L. When I idle my RPMs will ‘bounce’. It seems like it’s about to stall out and then jumps back to normal. It does this when I’m sitting at a light. It will bounce up and down slowly. Doesn’t do it all the time but more often than I feel comfortable with. I also popped the hood and looked at the engine while it was doing this and the engine seems to ‘lurch’ slightly as it does this. Does anyone have any idea what it could be and how much repair should cost? Money is tight and I wanna make sure it’s going to the right thing.

I'm starting to feel like a bit of a broken record, but this is the only place I've gotten decent advice so far. My party's primary ranged Striker, a Death's Head, is no longer playing with us and their replacement really wants to play a Heavy Gunner Sherman with the Loza's Plasma Caster that our GM just gave us access to. The build seems solid, but it leaves us doubling up on Heavy Gunner StrikeControllers with no ranged heavy hitter, since I was running a Heavy Gunner Worldkiller with the Krakatoa. After chatting with our new player I decided to swap to a TechnoThumb Plasma Thrower build to keep our party balanced out, but I can't decide whether to go for Tokugawa or Sherman as my secondary license.
Both use Spaceborn 1 so I can move a decent distance without needing to put points into Agility. I could swap it for Vanguard 1 and try to get 2 points of Agility, but both builds rely on Limited systems so dropping Engineering is out of the question and our GM tends to include least one enemy that either hits hard or has some way to counter my armor, so dropping Hull leaves me uncomfortably vulnerable. And I'm not convinced that 8 Evasion will be a significant difference to 6 Evasion, even with near constant soft cover from Furiosa.
The first build is the closest to actually filling the shoes of our missing Death's Head, as it's a fairly straightforward Genghis/Tokugawa Striker build that uses LUCIFIER and NuCav 2 to crank up the Plasma Thrower's damage output when needed while Deep Well, BT, and NuCav 3 sort of keep the heat generation in check. Heatfall makes the Superheavy action economy a little less painful, SBD for more heat cap so I can get the most damage possible out of LUCIFER without exploding (much).

Hey everyone,
my friend recently bought a third-generation Mitsubishi Pajero(Shogun/Montero) with the engine mentioned in the title. The car intermittently won't crank at all neither from park nor neutral. When the car won't crank there is no noise from the starter at all. Sometimes he has to drag the shifter a bit harder to drive otherwise he will see that the car thinks it's both in drive and neutral at the same time(not sure if this might be causing the no crank issue). He keeps turning the ignition on and off and the car eventually starts. When it cranks it turns over without any major issues. This happens intermittently no matter if the car is hot or cold. He has checked the battery and it seems fine, he cleaned the terminals and the cables from any corrosion, he even tried starting it with cables hooked up to another car but that didn't seem to fix the issue. The petrol engine does not have a starter relay from what I could find on the internet. Could this just be a bad starter ground or a bad solenoid/ignition switch? What could he check next in order to try and diagnose the issue?

I have a 2015 Mitsubishi lancer es, 2.0L 4 Cylinder. I bought a new serpentine belt and when I try to move the belt tensioner I can move it but not enough because there is a thing in the way preventing me from moving it more. Would it be easier to go under the engine? Also where is the last place I should put the belt when I’m loosening the tension. The picture below is what mine looks like.

 | 2001 Mitsubishi Montero LTD I ordered a new Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) online and when it came in, it didn't match the one on my engine. The part number runs as correct for my make and model, but the sensors don't match. The old sensor has 3 prongs and the new one has 4. And the spring-loaded part that mounts against the throttle body has a completely different looking mounting surface. Some research shows that both styles offered for my car. Hey all, hope this is the right place for this but if not please direct me to where I should post.
So I work at a dealership here and the fleet of XG500's that are used in the rider course are about to go through service and a select few will be able to be bought by employees for an insanely good price. (Talking way less than 3 grand depending on condition)
Now this will not be my first bike as I had a rebel 250 last year and rode the piss out of it but it was simply too small for me and I got rid of it for a number of reasons. Now there is a slight chance I may be able to get my hands on a 750 from the dealer but my GM told me no promises but a 500 I for sure could get.
The only thing I really want this bike for is commuting to and from work and then cruising the backroads on my off days. I work in parts and so far all the basic maintenance parts are still available to order plus our aftermarket suppliers have loads of more stuff I can get.
My main questions are I much prefer forward controls but have yet to find an actual affordable pair that will fit. Being just barely 6' with a 32 inch inseam I fear the bike may be slightly cramped for me. Of course the deciding factor in this will be once I sit on one for a bit and ride it. But they all have their seats off and are waiting for inspection right now so I haven't had a chance to do either. So with no luck in forward controls I think a better seat would suffice which leads me to my next question...
Which is has anyone here had any experience with the saddleman seats? There is a handful of them that are available for me to get that fit the XG500/750 from the hog killers seat, full fender solo seat, touring seat, and two up seat. I was wondering if anyone has one of these on their street and if it allows for seating to be slightly further back than the stock seat or slightly higher?
And just some general questions I have as well, does this follow the sportster's oil system? Only two hole oil change or is a full three hole oil change?
Also since these are mainly for the over seas market are the tools needed going to be metric or standard sizing?
An exhaust question I have but will prolly be better answered by the techs there but if I were to completely take the muffler off could I tune it so back pressure isn't damaging the engine or should I just take the baffles out until I get an aftermarket slip on?
Can of course ask around the dealer but I'm assuming that most everyone there has little to no experience with the streets haha. Thank you all in advance!!!!

I've been doing a lot of world-building lately creating a realm that I've called the Shrouded Lands, and I have the setting to a point where I want to share it with others to develop the world through roleplay. I am looking for 3-4 players to embark on a journey of discovery as we explore the Shrouded Lands together.
A bit about me:
Hi, My name is Patrick, I am a 30 year old father and engineer, and have been playing TTRPGs for 18 years. I've GM'd many campaigns, created a widely successful westmarch server, and am well versed in PBP roleplay. I've created many homebrew worlds in the past, though the Shrouded Lands is easily my strangest.
The Shrouded Lands
This PBP campaign is a bit of an odd one. Opposed to roleplaying in an established fantasy setting with NPCs and towns that are familiar to your character, your character has instead recently passed away and this campaign will tell the story of their traversal through the afterlife.
To begin this campaign, your character will awaken in a mysterious realm known only as ‘The Shrouded Lands’. These lands are familiar yet strange. A twisting realm inhabited by the spirits of the dead who are not yet ready to rest. Much like the mortal realm that your character perished in, the Shrouded Lands are a medieval fantasy setting with verdant forests, fetid bogs, and vast mountains. With this setting being wholly new to the characters and the campaign focusing on discovery, I want to keep much of the setting’s details a mystery to the players as well. Encouraging the party to learn about this strange realm through their travels.
What RPG system will we be playing?
The Shrouded Lands will be utilizing a heavily modified version of the “D20 Go” RPG system. This system is designed to be simple, fast-paced, and easy to implement into a PBP structure. The main benefit of D20 Go is that it can condense large scenes (like combat) into a single group check, allowing the story not to get bogged down with any single scene.
Style and Inspiration
I want this campaign to focus heavily on themes of exploration and mystery. The setting of the Shrouded Lands is quite unique, and there is much to learn about its existence, laws, inhabitants, and turmoils. I want to provide players the opportunity to discovery these lands for themselves, and make their mark on the world.
In terms of media inspirations I’ve drawn much from the following:
I am looking for players who are willing to take interest in the story, and drive their own path. The structure of the plot will be highly player driven as this game offers more of a sandbox experience.
As for posting frequency, once per day would be ideal. As a GM, I am typically available for multiple posts during the weekdays, and fewer posts on weekends. My Timezone is EST, though my most active hours are (9 AM to 3 PM)
Tone and Safety Info
This a grounded fantasy story with an overall serious tone. I have no intentions of delving into grim or dark themes/content within this game. Background
Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
A popular US seed company. If you would like more background see my post below.Heirloom vs Non-Heirloom vs GMO
- Heirloom seeds are grown with the intention to isolate desirable traits across many generations in order to produce one stable inbred line of plant genetics, resulting in predictable, genetically similar offspring. This is referred to as "true to seed".
- Non-heirloom seeds are not inbred and carry a lot of variability. When two plants cross pollinate, they create a hybrid of the parents that results in offspring that express an unpredictable mix of genes.
- Genetically modified seeds are engineered using gene editing technology, sometimes with genes from unrelated sources.
GMO and Patented seeds entering the consumer gardener market
- In the consumer market, patents can be granted to plants such as roses and apples. One of the stipulations is that these plants have to be propagated asexually by cutting or (non-seed) tissue culture for the patent to be applicable. This means that it is permissible to save, sell, and grow seeds from these plants (if not sterile), because the offspring are not exact genetic copies.
- Patent granting on seeds stipulates that the traits expressed cannot be the result of open pollination breeding (wind, insects). As a result, these patents are mostly applied to GMO seeds, where genes are manually influenced in a lab.
- Previously, there were absolutely no GMO seeds sold to the consumer market due to USDA/FDA restrictions. Companies fearmongering about GMOs were easily dismissed. You simply could not buy GMO seeds outside of commercial applications.
- The implications of GMO seeds, which are almost all patented, hitting the market is that the plants can cross pollinate with a non-patented plant, and pass patented genetics on to the offspring. The offspring would be the lawful IP of the company that owns the patent for as long as the patent is active (can be as long as 20 years).
- Almost all gardeners rely on open pollination between their plants, so there is untread territory on what may happen down the line when more seeds of this nature become common place.
- Despite this, the reception of new GMO varieties like the purple tomato and glow in the dark petunia has so far been largely positive.
Purple Tomatoes
- Until now, attaining a tomato variety that was purple both inside and out and could reliably hold that genetic trait in its offspring was just out of reach for tomato enthusiasts. There have been many purple skinned varieties of tomatoes, and many that came close to having perfect anthocyanin rich insides, but a company called Norfolk was the first to make it happen through science.
The Controversy
Timeline
- After 20 years of work, biochemist Cathie Martin and her team successfully isolates the gene that codes for color in a purple snapdragon flower and integrates it into a tomato, making a first of its kind stable variety of purple fleshed tomato.
- Norfolk makes headlines for getting the first USDA approved GMO seed out to the consumer gardener market, obtaining a utility patent.
- Around the same time, Baker Creek releases a seed catalog boldly featuring a mysterious new purple fleshed tomato they called Purple Galaxy, as well as making social media posts and videos claiming it is non-GMO.
- Across social media people begin to notice the striking similarities between the new tomato and the high publicity Norfolk Purple Tomato, finding the timing strange.

"Labs are looking for specific genetic markers the first lab was looking for 2 specific genetic markers, which it did not contain. As stated in the FAQs, this was acquired from a country that does not allow GMO crops."
Norfolk responds
Norfolk releases a response to the speculation that has flooded the internet:Is NHP's Purple Tomato related to the "Purple Galaxy"?
We have received many questions about the purple tomato marketed by Baker Creek as “Purple Galaxy” in their 2024 catalogs. We understand from Baker Creek that they will not be selling seeds of this variety. Given its remarkable similarity to our purple tomato, we prompted Baker Creek to investigate their claim that Purple Galaxy was non-GMO. We are told that laboratory testing determined that it is, in fact, bioengineered (GMO). This result supports the fact that the only reported way to produce a purple-fleshed tomato rich in anthocyanin antioxidants is with Norfolk’s patented technology. We appreciate that Baker Creek tested their material, and after discovering it was a GMO, removed it from their website.

I’ve been on the hunt for a pre owned vehicle either through private dealers or dealerships within my area but need a little helpful advice on how to find that diamond in the dust I’ve recently came across a 2013 Mitsubishi lancer Ralliart Sedan 4d for 12k but the person selling has mentioned that: 2013 Ralliart with 123k miles good tittle , 1000 miles newly rebuilt sst transmission no codes , no check engine light on . one door needs to be repair engine is super clean , new acd pump installed , the sst transmission is probably worth the 10k alone . Just don’t want to buy something that someone knows is gonna nickle and dime the next owner. Any advice helps thanks in advance.
