Hey guys,
So my partner and I have been working on a Pitch Deck for our feature length film and would like some feedback before we go into Photoshop and more-or-less finalize every slide. The design is very much a WIP but the content is basically all here (for example, you may notice red boxes around certain text snapshots, this is to track the words that'll end up being colored red in Photoshop). Since this film is based on actual historical events, the 1944 Hartford Circus Fire, we've dedicated the first 9-10 pages so they quickly summarize the major beats before delving into the story components. Fair warning, the images are pretty high in quality, so you may experience some delayed load-in times here and there. Especially if you're on your phone.
The purpose of this pitch deck is for if/when we pitch to execs, studios, other writers, etc. We also have a short film, a film treatment, a mood board and a script that will act as accompanying material.

I’m having trouble with my 1988 Ford F150.. When I start my vehicle the fuel gauge begins to bounce all over. This includes turning the key until the power turns on, but before the engine runs. It changes depending on how fast I’m going, how much gas I’m using, etc. It only does this for my rear tank however, the front one acts fine, which makes me think it has more to do with that tank, possibly the fuel pump or the sending unit. Anyone have more knowledge on this topic and might be able go help me? If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

- All work experience was before & during my undergrad and postgrad studies (all full-time: office, remote, and placement year).
- Relevant Languages: Fluent in English (though not a native speaker), very limited Mandarin.
- Looking to stay in Shanghai for around 2 years.
- My passport doesn't allow long-stay multi-entry L visas. I’ve managed to get a 60-day single-entry L visa before (considered rare for my passport), but I’ve been told by the visa people that I can’t stay longer than 6 months within a 12-month period using short-term L visas.
- Therefore, I need to secure a work (Z) visa or, as a last resort, an X1 student visa (though scholarship applications for this year seem to be closed).
- Applied to over 200 jobs at 100+ companies (multinationals, domestic companies, schools, etc.) in the past 2 months.

- Applied to a variety of positions: software-related, IT and tech support, CS/Programming & ESL teaching, customer support call centers, SEO optimization, QA/Localisation, marketing, various internships, etc.
- I've been open and flexible in my job search, willing to make sacrifices in career progression for roles I may be overqualified for or not directly related to my background.
- Multinationals seem to only need seniors or team leads with many more years of experience and have, for the most part, ghosted me.
- Expat websites are flooded with listings for teaching jobs that have good benefits and (frustratingly) loose requirements but require native English speakers.
- Many English-related jobs (localization, proofreading, digital content creation, translation QA, user research, etc.) inexplicably require native English speakers. Despite being able to excel in these roles and achieve a high IELTS/TOEFL score if needed, I am deemed unqualified solely due to my passport.
- HR on Chinese job boards have shown a lot of interest in me, but most Chinese companies don’t seem to be currently hiring international talent.
- Planning to stay in Shanghai later this year for as long as my tourist visa allows, to continue job hunting in person. I am hoping that this will simplify the process and improve my chances. I will have, at most, 3 months on my L visa.
- If during that time I still don't manage to secure work, I really won't know what else to do, as I may not be issued another L visa.

So I need some advice about how to deal with my father's decisions . My father M(47) has made a lot of depts from the bank as well as from family members and other relatives/friends. My father who grow up in poor family and who has very bad luck in business and office work my father had been accused of some very bad thing in the past because of that my father was not good for a lot of years even now he has not gotten the promotion he deserves or he should have . His college who started with him at the same time at the same company are where ahead of him and make almost 6 figures a year . Now from my childhood my family has never been poor or has never been in a type of situation where we might be a avictiated or have any problems with food, clothes. My mom who grow up in a very educational household by that I mean my grandfather was a principle of a school and had a very good reputation among our city. So obviously my mother side of the family is very well of their educationally well of as well. My father's side of the family was not well educated they had only gone up to the 8th or 12th grade my father is the only one who was very passionate about his education so he had to go through a lot to receive his education my grandfather did not support him neither it is sisters or brother he has six sisters and two brothers which and none of them supported him doing the hardest times of his life he worked hard to get everywhere he went he was a great father figure to me . Last year at march my father open a new business and was hoping to do well in his business but because of my father side of the family's greed he had suffered a lot of loss my father is a Banker so it was very tough for him to do both business and a job my mom was a great support for him but my father who had no supporters for most of his life I don't think he can trust anybody anymore not even me or my mom.me and my mom have a very close relationship we share everything with each other. My dad struggled a lot with his family my mom bought many lands from his family and helped my cousins rise up my mom and dad supported and basically raised my cousins for as long as I can remember Ever since I was two months old my cousin have lived with us for free my mom paid for the education and gave food like rice vegetables such other things for my dad side of the family to live but they where were Ungrateful till the very end they had accused my mum from stealing to not treating them right and every single thing they could accuse her of even though she she supported them for more than 20 years. Once I went to my youngest aunt's house they were talking about how my cousins were living at my house my youngest aunt started saying that her son and daughter can never visit their uncle's house because of how my mum treats them I was 13 at the time I set out loud what do you mean you never come to our house even when my dad was sick I had been in an accident you did not come to visit me once you said you were busy and I understood that that you could be busy about your life but how could you say that we do not treat you right when you don't even come to our house my aunt was very surprised and yelled at me for saying such stuff when I was so young that this is because my mother told me to tell everyone about this. And this was one of the many stories that I have about her bullying me and my mother she was the main leader of my father's side of the family my grandparents died when I was at least three or four years old I don't remember them much but from what I know or from what I remember they were not very kind people either my grandfather had burdened my mum with a lot of the things like cleaning his washroom and he would accuser that she was ugly and something like that as I do not remember much I cannot tell more about this sorry my mum and my dad forgave them every single time my cousins my aunts everyone bullied me and my mother and father recently my father's eldest brothers son he's also one of my eldest cousins called my mum to accuse my father of stealing from our land for context we own a lot of land in my father's home site and those were mostly sold to my mum by my father's second brother. And their farms in one way we were accused of stealing by eating our own planted weeds my grandfather's house which was very old was renewed by my mum as she had the money to do so but all the credit was taken by my oldest uncle and now his son was accusing us of stealing my mother became hysterical and started crying and start calling my dad she told him because of his wrong decisions because of his wrongdoings now we were suffering even though we were innocent we were never able to speak up about it not even now my mother's side of the family knows about this but they cannot do much because in our country it's never right to interfere between a in law's family.

Hydrogen, instead of oil, is the basis of the world's economy here, the corporations that have grown from its extraction and use have more power than governments. The political map of the world is different from our own, with different forces at play than we are used to.
The main setting is the city of Neone, located somewhere on the coast of the Balkan Peninsula. I won't specify a particular place or pick a certain country for its location. Instead, I will take some features from some various ones to add local flavor. As one of the largest trading hubs in the world, this city is very wealthy, but it's the kind of wealth that easily slips through your fingers. Everything is buying and selling here, and human life is just as much a bargaining chip. Life in Neone is determined by the actions that the Players, the main political forces in the city, take with one another. Relations between them can swing from friendship to hostility... Or sometimes a combination of both at the same time. So, here's a preliminary list of the ones I've already come up with:
CORPORATIONS:
Astara Industries is the “beauty industry” in all its forms. Silk and gold, perfume and cosmetics. Modeling, music, entertainment, plastic surgery, and escort services. Rumored to be involved in much darker affairs, but that doesn't stop a lot of young guys and especially girls from trying their luck and signing another cabal contract with Astara. The higher the ranks of their employees, the more the corporation seems to be a kind of cult that worships the very idea of beauty itself. Recently, this company has been investing colossal amounts of money into an ambitious project designed to stop aging and mortality.
Change Inc. is a pretty mysterious organization that primarily provides construction and design services as well as financial operations and data protection services. On deeper layers lies espionage and information trading to anyone who can offer a more interesting price for it.
Chapek's Clockworks is the other major robotics company that has dominated the market for quite a while. Now they are more famous for their retro designs and sponsorship of the theatrical scene.
Chimera Chemicals is a biochemical giant that once started out as a fertilizer manufacturer. Now they deal in just about everything chemical related, including weapons, and also sponsor gene modifications.

Each of their products is completely featureless, but they get the job done at an acceptable price.
Keller & Crow is one of Europe's largest arms manufacturers, dating back to World War I, or maybe even earlier. Known for their high quality and appropriate prices.
Keller-Tec is, in more than one sense, a daughter corporation of Keller & Crow. It develops the most cutting-edge custom weapon and gear systems. It works closely with Risen Robotics and actively funds the Fountain of Good.
Kiki Courier Company is a network of independent couriers working through the app. Moving around the roofs of Neone, they are able to deliver a small cargo personally in their hands for those who don't trust big companies.

MOLOT manufactures is another major arms manufacturer in Europe. In fact a franchise that sells to factories around the world the rights to produce copies of their world famous models. Their designs are a bit crude, but reliable and durable.
Poseidon's Possibilities - A marine transportation company that plays an important role in city and global shipping. Considering the high risk of piracy, possess pretty good assets to protect themselves, and sometimes execute third-party orders in coastal zones.
Risen Robotics is one of the world's important corporations. Creating innovative neural chip technology, Risen Robotics quickly earned financial and political capital and aiming for more. They have squatted some ruins on the outskirts of the city, including the abandoned greenhouse that gave them their name. However... They are rapidly expanding their influence and their source of funding remains unknown.
OTHERS:
The City Council is the primary administration of the city. They manage, but they don't reign. They are a handful of exhausted clerks, doing the hard work that no one else accepted to do. Basically maintain the city's communications and keep the Players away from killing each other and too many ordinary citizens.
The Forge is a secret organization that exists for a very long time and runs deeply secured operations all over the world. They believe it's their duty to protect humanity from dangerous ideas, technologies, and obscure subjects such as [UNKNOWN]. Forge is often found to be a puppeteer, directing the actions of other Players or certain individuals.
The Fountain of Good is a globally respected charity organization primarily focused on orphanages. One of the few Players who maintains truly bright ideals. The children who grow up usually become corporate employees afterwards. Other Players fund them mainly to launder money, calm their karma and create a positive public image for themselves.
The Nuevians are a deep-covered organization slowly gaining influence in the city. They are led by an artificially created living entity known only as "The Queen" that seeks to bring prosperity to the planet. They have good intentions, but fear to repeat the fate of the Zero Cycle.
The Union of Nations Peacekeepers - maintaining a shred of peace in the aftermath of the Incident, a massive earthquake that recently struck Neone. Many urban areas have since descended into chaos and lawlessness, while others live as if nothing has happened or are experiencing minimal inconvenience. The competency of these soldiers is questionable and they are barely supplied.
The Volunteer Vanguards are an organization that maintains order in those Neone districts where the City Council or other Players do not. Generally a barely trained and armed militia, but there are some skilled veterans and former corporate workers in their ranks.
The Workers Ring is Neone's major blue collar association. They support city communications so they have a lot of influence. Individual members may or may not be involved in working for other Players and illegal activities. The second meaning of the "Ring" word is also utilized - many members of this community are known for their passion for arena fighting.
The Zero Cycle is a secret organization of intelligent machines once created by a rogue AI. Several Players united to destroy this threat, leading to the Incident. Now, shards of the Cycle's technology, superior to anything created by humanity, is the most valuable hunting treasure in Neone. Owning one of them means risking the lives of yourself and your loved ones, but that rarely stops hunters who desire wealth or driven by some personal reasons.

The main setting is the city of Neone, located somewhere on the coast of the Balkan Peninsula. I won't specify a particular place or pick a certain country for its location. Instead, I will take some features from some various ones to add local flavor. As one of the largest trading hubs in the world, this city is very wealthy, but it's the kind of wealth that easily slips through your fingers. Everything is buying and selling here, and human life is just as much a bargaining chip. Life in Neone is determined by the actions that the Players, the main political forces in the city, take with one another. Relations between them can swing from friendship to hostility... Or sometimes a combination of both at the same time. So, here's a preliminary list of the ones I've already come up with:
CORPORATIONS:
Astara Industries is the “beauty industry” in all its forms. Silk and gold, perfume and cosmetics. Modeling, music, entertainment, plastic surgery, and escort services. Rumored to be involved in much darker affairs, but that doesn't stop a lot of young guys and especially girls from trying their luck and signing another cabal contract with Astara. The higher the ranks of their employees, the more the corporation seems to be a kind of cult that worships the very idea of beauty itself. Recently, this company has been investing colossal amounts of money into an ambitious project designed to stop aging and mortality.
Change Inc. is a pretty mysterious organization that primarily provides construction and design services as well as financial operations and data protection services. On deeper layers lies espionage and information trading to anyone who can offer a more interesting price for it.
Chapek's Clockworks is the other major robotics company that has dominated the market for quite a while. Now they are more famous for their retro designs and sponsorship of the theatrical scene.
Chimera Chemicals is a biochemical giant that once started out as a fertilizer manufacturer. Now they deal in just about everything chemical related, including weapons, and also sponsor gene modifications.
Dragonfruit Digital is a world famous software and electronics developer that was leading the market before the rapid... well, rise of Risen Robotics.
Friture Science is a food concern dedicated to the mission of feeding the world. In addition to natural products, they develop synthetic ones as well as a number of associated products.
Fortuna Fishing - seafood production in Neone coastal waters and also beyond and deeper. Some of the things they found deep in the waters made them a little bit... Well, superstitious.
Greenfield Gardens - Similar in many ways to the previous one, this company focuses on environmental protection and recycling methods. Owns many farms and gardens in the city and beyond. Genetic modifications, too.
Hecate Guaranty is a law and insurance company. Deals with all possible disputes of their clients, property issues, and more. When required and paid decently, can provide a person or group of people a new life and a new home.
International Inc. is the most boring company in the world. Originally a construction contractor they pioneered the technology of rapid modular building. Because of this, International Inc. quickly built up capital and influence by rebuilding cities after wars. Eventually they expanded into selling associated products and services, then logistics, recruiting personnel... And now International Inc. provides half of the world's products. Each of their products is completely featureless, but they get the job done at an acceptable price.
Keller & Crow is one of Europe's largest arms manufacturers, dating back to World War I, or maybe even earlier. Known for their high quality and appropriate prices.
Keller-Tec is, in more than one sense, a daughter corporation of Keller & Crow. It develops the most cutting-edge custom weapon and gear systems. It works closely with Risen Robotics and actively funds the Fountain of Good.
Kiki Courier Company is a network of independent couriers working through the app. Moving around the roofs of Neone, they are able to deliver a small cargo personally in their hands for those who don't trust big companies.
Matsubayashi Motors is a Japanese vehicle manufacturer. Raised on defense contracts, they now make anything that can carry a human in it, from scooters and cars to aircraft and bolides.
MOLOT manufactures is another major arms manufacturer in Europe. In fact a franchise that sells to factories around the world the rights to produce copies of their world famous models. Their designs are a bit crude, but reliable and durable.
Poseidon's Possibilities - A marine transportation company that plays an important role in city and global shipping. Considering the high risk of piracy, possess pretty good assets to protect themselves, and sometimes execute third-party orders in coastal zones.
Risen Robotics is one of the world's important corporations. Creating innovative neural chip technology, Risen Robotics quickly earned financial and political capital and aiming for more. They were the first to commercialize a truly cheap and mass-produced android called the Peacebringer, and these robots can be seen in the military, security companies, and even as security guards in the market and malls and as bouncers in nightclubs. Building its influence, Risen Robotics aims to actively bring its tech into the lives of everyone in the world... And then their gaze will be directed higher into the skies and to the stars.
Royal Arms - Once a major weapons company, they are now more focused on the civilian market and support tools. Their high-precision tools and cybernetic limbs are widely used in civilian and military markets, as well as the medicine and even space industries.
Strigoi Sovereign is a company with a long history of working with private customers. They originally focused on hunting and harvesting of high-value resources, but gradually expanded. Nowadays, they are known for their customized combat enhancements, whether it be tough training and gear customization as well as biological, chemical, and cybernetic enhancements. Among all forms of payment, they prefer transactions in precious metals.
Van Nueve Innovations is another deep genetic research company. After their role in human trafficking and criminal experiments was revealed, their assets were mostly shut and sold down. Now their stuff keeps popping up on the black market - though, in this city, the difference between the regular and black market is barely noticeable.
Vulcan Weaponry is another firearm company with a long history, with a good reputation for their trusted builds, high quality and classy designs. Among the mercenary world, their weapons and equipment is considered indicators of prestige and good taste.
PRIVATE MILITARY COMPANIES:
Deepwater is a notorious American PMC with a well-deserved dirty reputation. Their Sigma division deployed in Neone has been caught in the middle of scandals more than once.
FIREBIЯD - Russian PMC, looking after order in and around Neone. Having a small size they are all carefully selected by their leader and follow him into both fire and water.
Ryujin - Japanese PMC, which has a good social image and actively finances all kinds of entertainment.
Schwarzwald is a German PMC with a long-standing reputation and connections. It usually works for the benefit of Western European clients and has a long history of cooperation with the Keller family.
Keller's Claws is a passion project of Alex Keller, CEO of Keller-Tec. A small and elite female PMC, operating in the interests of their mistress or executing carefully selected contracts around the world.
This is not all PMCs in the city, but only those that are not directly linked to specific corporations that were listed above.

Hey everyone! I've been seeing a few posts here and there about Colosseum and just an overall interest in S/S+ characters. I myself am among the unlucky few who has not yet pulled a single S character, but I've managed to 3-star every stage in the first story mode as well as complete every single mode aside from the Superstar Challenge and the Beach one (I'm putting these off until I get an S Wing Spiker since Superstar seems impossible to 3-star without a Spiker that can more frequently boom/no-touch ace, and Beach is just boring to me imo).
In addition, I've been able to beat Colosseum with only a team consisting of an A-rank WS, B+ MB, and B+ Setter. Of course, this took me a few tries but the main thing that I've learned is that the final boss is much easier to get through than the boss stages. I'm playing with Beginner and Auto mode turned off, while Run-Up is turned ON. I'm not sure if different settings will help.
I'll expand on this now and give more detail, but I'd just like to say first that this is NOT a guide for a guaranteed win. Some RNG will still matter and therefore you may not be able to win the Colosseum run on your first try. This will be a VERY long guide, but I'll try my best to give a summary at the end for those who don't have the patience or want an easy flowchart to look at while playing.
So let's start off with your roster and playing style.
Stats of your team:
Firstly, you definitely want every member to be at least B+ so you can possibly max out 2 stats and get some additional points in to others. Do NOT attempt Colosseum if you can't max out your players' stats; you'd just be frustrating youself.
For the Setter, I maxed out Jump and Defense and spent the extra points on Speed. My Setter came with 85 Attack so I simply didn't bother increasing it since it's costly and she seems to be able to get serve aces anyway even with a low attack stat.
For my MB, I maxed out Defense and Speed while spending the rest of the points on Attack. IMO you can probably tweak with this as you like, the MB really isn't that important anyway.
My reasoning for this is that you'll be doing pretty much all of the work on getting points anyway, so might as well increase your teammates' chances of blocking out spikes or receiving without getting their defenses broken through if you make mistakes.

As for the stats, obviously you want a maxed out Attack and Jump, while I keep Speed at least at 100 and spend the rest of my points in Defense. The low Speed is due to the fact that you'll be spending pretty much all your time in your team's zone anyway, and having a high speed MB can make up for any threats of a Touch Out.
Your playing style will be one of two things which are purely dependent on your Wing Spiker's height. Note that these playstyles only really matter with the non-boss teams and are all about defense. We'll be employing team-specific strategies when it comes to attack/defense against bosses and attacks against the non-bosses.
Currently my two best WSs are 179cm (A-rank) and 212cm (A-minus rank). The 179cm WS is my main WS that I use right now purely because of additional stats, and he's the shortest player on my team.
The tall playstyle (probably good for at least 190cm WS) will involve blocking a lot because some of the players on the regular teams generally have weak attacks but can spike higher than shorter characters, so having a tall WS with good defense stats is often enough to block out the strongest spikes from these teams. This also matters more at the start because most of the ability cards at the first round will decrease your jump points, so if your player's tall enough to still be able to block shots from the enemy team with decreased jump, then you can definitely go with this style.
The short playstyle (good for below 190cm) involves going for dives on every shot that the enemy takes. It conserves team stamina and gives you more chances to get attacks in and whittle the enemy's defenses down.
Obviously, if you've been playing for a while, you already know the advantages of blocking and diving. But, the key difference between the two when it comes to Colosseum is that the tall playstyle is generally easier and more aggressive and can let you win games faster through good blocks, but is more prone to RNG with your block sometimes leading to an unsalvageable touch out and therefore making you lose points.
Meanwhile, the short playstyle is harder but a safer style. It's harder because you need to be good at reacting to quicks and positioning yourself in general. But if you can consistently dive enemy spikes, then you'll never get a touch out and you save your team stamina for the few times that you make a mistake and your team has to cover, which they'll often do by simple receives and not dives.
Once you've determined your playstyle, let's take a look at your general tournament strategy and then your attack strategy for each opponent.
General Strategy:
When starting a run, the rule of thumb is to take a look at the path and see which one you can take with at least ONE rest while having the least amount of boss fights. If you get lucky, you can have a path with 1-2 rests without a single boss fight to take. If you're low on health/score (3 or below), I suggest avoiding boss fights completely even if taking the boss fight can lead you to a rest. Ideally you'll have at least 7-8 score/health remaining by the time you reach the final boss.
When it comes to resting, I haven't tried the full heal yet since I don't really need the full 10 HP to win. I only take the 5 HP restoration if I'm below 6 HP and take the -5 Attack -2 Jump debuffs which won't really have noticeable effects unless you weren't able to balance out your buffs and debuffs.
As for ability cards, I suggest choosing the -10%/20% jump reductions at the start if you can find them. You can choose to reroll if you really want to/can afford it, but in any case, the guideline for stats ability cards is this:
Non-boss team strategies:
Let's start with Blue Lancia, which imo is the most predictable non-boss team in the mode (I've gotten multipel 12-0s against them). Their blocking is somehow near-perfect yet their receives are ass. So, to keep this short, the flowchart is just around 2 conditions, based on the enemy blocker:
For Yellow Spear, most of the strategy involves around defense. They're the only non-boss team that likes doing quicks/surprise attacks from what I observed, and their attacks CAN get through high defense at times. For attacking against them, you can play normally but you might want to go for feints if their tall blocker jumps (I forgot his name) since he can sometimes block you out, but not as much as Blue Lancia.
Boss teams:
There are certain teams that you want to avoid completely. Although you can try your luck with some of them if you think you're skilled enough to do so. I suggest avoiding boss fights completely if you're only on 3 health or lower unless you're willing to use the quitting/retry cheese strat.
My ranking of the boss teams from easiest to hardest to beat is as follows (note once again that this is from the perspective of playing with NO S characters, I'm sure that this will be completely different for those with S characters especially a WS):
Another disclaimer coming here... I haven't fought Robert's team yet at the time of this writing so I can't really give my insights on how to beat them. But considering how surprisingly forgiving BYE (NN's team) and BELL (Isabel's team) are, I doubt that Robert would be any different.
I find BELL to be the easiest team to play against. You can play pretty much normally since they don't have strong blocks and receives, while defending would just be doing the usual dive strat which I've already mentioned is the safest.
BYE is harder but only in a general sense. I don't find NN's set to be that much of a threat (tbh it makes their attack much easier to time), and Jaehyun's spike is consistently blockable although not worth testing the RNG for possible Touch Outs if your score is low already.
Summary:
Take jump debuffs (I almost never take the Easy ability cards since I want to greed for Blue Flames) at the start and just slide/dive or block against weak attack teams. I recommend diving for pretty much every team and don't bother blocking if you wanna conserve health as much as possible, but this can make your runs longer.
Play normally against Red Scudo. Play more defensively against Yellow Spear. Feint as much as possible against Blue Lancia and only spike when the enemy blocker doesn't jump with you.
Go for boss fights if you have enough health and they aren't Valentia/Solar. Make sure to get a good ability card such as Nishikawa's Topspin Feint, Overpower or Heesung's Absolute Block (if you can mitigate your original jump debuffs) if you can afford rerolling for them; otherwise just take whatever good ability card you can get and prioritize Attack/the stats most affected by previous debuffs.
I highly suggest avoiding Valentia Spike and Solar unless you're determined to figuring them out. IMO it's a waste of time to attempt them without an S-rank but of course, it's your choice.
Against BYE, keep an eye out for NN's set and change your receive timing when he's setting. That's the only difficult part.
Against BELL, just receive well and be persistent with your spikes. By the time that you've reached them, you'd ideally have a high enough attack stat that you can easily break through their defenses.
And that's pretty much it! I'll update this post or just post a comment about Robert once I've played against his team. Apologies for the length of this post, but hopefully this helps some of you :)

- Unless you've been able to mitigate the initial 10/20% reduction, do NOT take any cards that reduce jump. Obviously since you're already taking huge hits to your jump stat, reducing it further without mitigating thru buffs will make it so much harder to spike/block.
- Let your Defense stats take the most hits; if your defense goes low enough (around 120 and below), switch to diving style if you're not using it already.
Non-boss team strategies:
Let's start with Blue Lancia, which imo is the most predictable non-boss team in the mode (I've gotten multipel 12-0s against them). Their blocking is somehow near-perfect yet their receives are ass. So, to keep this short, the flowchart is just around 2 conditions, based on the enemy blocker:
- Whoever's blocking you at the net jumps at the same time as you do - Just feint. Even at max attack, my WS rarely ever gets through the blocker and causes me to lose points when spiking, so just feint over him, and if you do it for long enough, Blue Lancia's receiving is so bad that their receive will break even from just a simple feint.
- They don't jump at the same time - Spike. The max attack stats will break stamina faster. You'll rarely win points from spiking because even when their defenses are broken, they can keep the ball in the air when receiving spikes but can't when it's a feint So ultimately you'll still be going back to condition #1 to actually win the point.
For Yellow Spear, most of the strategy involves around defense. They're the only non-boss team that likes doing quicks/surprise attacks from what I observed, and their attacks CAN get through high defense at times. For attacking against them, you can play normally but you might want to go for feints if their tall blocker jumps (I forgot his name) since he can sometimes block you out, but not as much as Blue Lancia.
Boss teams:
There are certain teams that you want to avoid completely. Although you can try your luck with some of them if you think you're skilled enough to do so. I suggest avoiding boss fights completely if you're only on 3 health or lower unless you're willing to use the quitting/retry cheese strat.
My ranking of the boss teams from easiest to hardest to beat is as follows (note once again that this is from the perspective of playing with NO S characters, I'm sure that this will be completely different for those with S characters especially a WS):
- ZeroN - Strong stats and fast spikes by Youngsub which can make it tough to dive, but once you're on the attack, there's nothing special you need to really do to get points.
- Art High - Mid stats and extremely annoying to play against because of how consistently they can receive, but their attack's pretty predictable and even consistently blockable except if it's Sanghyeon spiking. You only really need to look out for Sanghyeon and that's about it.
- SolaOasis's team (forgot the full name) - Very difficult to beat, I suggest avoiding them. Surprisingly, AI Oasis isn't all that hard to play against, but the real challenge when it comes to this team is their serves. Both Oasis and ESPECIALLY Lisia have difficult serves. Lisia's underhand seems to always target you, though, so as long as you get the timing right, it's possible to receive it with a dive. But I suggest eating the serve with a normal receive if you can't get the timing or if you're confident that your defense/stamina can handle it.
- Valentia Spikes - Just avoid them. The Nishikawa in the Colosseum mode is the one that does the delayed spike the most which your team can't really defend against. Other Nishikawa spikes are blockable and actually quite predictable based on his positioning, but the delayed spike and his serves will eat up your points. I think with enough practice and the right ability cards, you can definitely learn to beat this team but it doesn't really seem worth it without an S-rank WS.
Another disclaimer coming here... I haven't fought Robert's team yet at the time of this writing so I can't really give my insights on how to beat them. But considering how surprisingly forgiving BYE (NN's team) and BELL (Isabel's team) are, I doubt that Robert would be any different.
I find BELL to be the easiest team to play against. You can play pretty much normally since they don't have strong blocks and receives, while defending would just be doing the usual dive strat which I've already mentioned is the safest.
BYE is harder but only in a general sense. I don't find NN's set to be that much of a threat (tbh it makes their attack much easier to time), and Jaehyun's spike is consistently blockable although not worth testing the RNG for possible Touch Outs if your score is low already.
Summary:
Take jump debuffs (I almost never take the Easy ability cards since I want to greed for Blue Flames) at the start and just slide/dive or block against weak attack teams. I recommend diving for pretty much every team and don't bother blocking if you wanna conserve health as much as possible, but this can make your runs longer.
Play normally against Red Scudo. Play more defensively against Yellow Spear. Feint as much as possible against Blue Lancia and only spike when the enemy blocker doesn't jump with you.
Go for boss fights if you have enough health and they aren't Valentia/Solar. Make sure to get a good ability card such as Nishikawa's Topspin Feint, Overpower or Heesung's Absolute Block (if you can mitigate your original jump debuffs) if you can afford rerolling for them; otherwise just take whatever good ability card you can get and prioritize Attack/the stats most affected by previous debuffs.
I highly suggest avoiding Valentia Spike and Solar unless you're determined to figuring them out. IMO it's a waste of time to attempt them without an S-rank but of course, it's your choice.
Against BYE, keep an eye out for NN's set and change your receive timing when he's setting. That's the only difficult part.
Against BELL, just receive well and be persistent with your spikes. By the time that you've reached them, you'd ideally have a high enough attack stat that you can easily break through their defenses.
And that's pretty much it! I'll update this post or just post a comment about Robert once I've played against his team. Apologies for the length of this post, but hopefully this helps some of you :)

Hello everyone. I've just started playing Destiny again after a long pause. Long story short, I'd like to run some raids (VoG and/or Crota) but my old friends aren't 0laying anymore. Add to that the fact that I somehow broke my mic, and the picture is more or less complete. Do you think it's possible to complete a raid without the mic if I find someone who doesn't immediately kick me? I kinda know the mechanics of the encounters, so I guess it's just about finding a group that doesn't mind?

Any advice. I honestly don’t know where to begin. I dread spending time with my daughter. I love her. I can’t cope most of the time. She doesn’t seem like other kids her age. She is almost 5.
She talks over me and her dad constantly. Any attention is good attention. She yells, shouts, does naughty things, punches the walls to make a noise, pretends to cry, and runs off and then is gleeful that we’ve stopped what we are doing to tell her off.
She can’t not talk. She talks incessantly while being desperate for eye contact and tapping me for 12 to 15 hours a day. I can’t cope with it. Most of it is repetition, constantly the same questions over and over again and I do always answer her first time and give her attention. But it’s never enough. Nothing I do is enough. We try the “we are talking wait your turn” and “time out” nothing works.
I don’t spend lots of time on my phone and she doesn’t have tons of screen time. We do things together, I plan activities and I’m currently on mat leave so very present, as her baby sister is no trouble at all.
She is very attached to her baby sister and we don’t see any jealously issues she likes to help with her.
Her need for attention is utterly frantic and always has been. It is crazy. I just can’t keep up with it or bear it. I almost cried last night because she was even stopping me trying to steal 2 minutes to eat over the sink, shouting the same sentence over and over and pulling on me and stopping me talking to my partner. I cannot exaggerate when I say it starts as soon as she wakes up until bed. I cannot bear it any more.
She is destructive and breaks most toys she’s given. She rips up the garden. Not maliciously, she just can’t be gentle. She doesn’t think. She can’t wait her turn. She can’t stay still. She constantly falls over. She won’t look where she’s going. She whinges and becomes listless if left to “be bored” which I am trying to do more of.
I can see her at the moment and she is frantically trying to give me things to do whilst I write this. Can I have a snack. Can you get me my toy. I’m hungry. She doesn’t want anything she can just see im busy. Now she’s started trying to put a plastic bag over her head because I am preoccupied with something else.
She is being assessed currently for ASD, I feel ADHD if anything is more likely but they don’t assess til 6+ here and I am just as a loss each day. She drains me. Days are not fun. Nothing is good enough.

The dream starts with me, working at my mother's café when the mother of an old classmate shows up. She doesn't look like her, she has the face of someone else. It doesn't matter anyways, if the dream says that she's that classmate's mother then that's who she is. We start talking a little bit, I can't remember about what exactly, and after a little while the said classmate arrives as well (I'll call her Fay to make things easier). Another wrong face, and yet I recognise her as her. We leave her mother at the café and we walk around the village as we start talking about random stuff. She's way too friendly with me and I am too friendly with her, in the real world our relationship was terrible. During our talk I ask her about how are things going with one of our old classmates (I'll call him Liam, also little note he used to be my biggest crush back in high school). Her friendly attitude fades and she tells me something like "I'll come back later wait" and she leaves. I wait for her and since she's not coming back I go to one of the village's taverns where I find her mother and she says "oh she left lol" as if everything's okay.
Idk how much time later, Fay comes over again while I'm having coffee with my two best friends. She says"hi" and we leave the café to go and have coffee all together at the balcony of a random house. We talk about how things where in the past and naturally the convo goes to our other old classmates as well. Same question comes over about Liam and guess what, she leaves again. Again I go to her mother (why not follow Fay herself lmao?) and she tells me that she's with some of her friends.
Magically I know where she is and I find her inside a red pickup truck on the road right under the house which's balcony we were having coffee. The red truck is surrounded by like 3 or 4 people that idk nor do I talk to. They seem to not care about my classmate, who is literally crying in the truck. Immediately I come close to her from the open window, and ask her why she's crying. She tells me the name of Liam and then says "(my name) you have been living in your little world for too much you can't understand". I tell her that I can understand as long as she explains to me what happened. I can't remember the convo exactly but it was about how Liam raped her(???) and then tangled her up in some mafia type of shit and now his men are hunting her (???). Somehow I convinced her that I can protect her and that she needs to trust me.
That same night we meet on the same road. The moment I look at her she magically transforms into an orange cat (I've been associating her with cats since forever irl so it makes sense ig) and hides in a nearby house (that doesn't exist irl). I follow her as I climb it's stairs to the house's doorstep. I look around in the dark in alert waiting to attack. And... A little kid passes by (she's my cousin ik her). She spots me immediately and looks at me smiling. It's a dream so I'm incapable of making some movements and when I try to tell her to leave nor my voice nor my body work. All of a sudden a big man shows up, like one of those fat stereotypical npcs, dressed in black and comes my way. My cousin disappears, and I attack him. Somehow I managed to kill him after using some dark energy or something like that. I open the door where my classmate was hiding and I tell her something about the dude. She thanks me and I go back to inspect the dead body. He has almost nothing on him other than one of those devices that bodyguards put on their ears. I take it. I then go to my grandma's house which is close and open the door (Nobody is in the house). I open the TV for some reason and all the lights. I start inspecting the device the man had on him. Somehow I understand that it's also a tracking device so I do the VERY logical thing and... Throw it out of the window.
A little while later a car shows up outside the house. I immediately start closing all the lights but for some reason I struggle to close the TV off. Oh and the door is open. Two men dressed in black show up and after them is Liam. He smiles at me and somehow I know without him telling me anything that he's not suspecting me of murdering one of his men, since I'm "the stupid kid who lives in her own world". I've forgotten most of this part since it's close to the end of the dream but he's inspecting my grandma's house while he talks to me as if I'm some dumb kid. I act dumb so he doesn't see under my facade and the dream ends here.

I really enjoy actively countering enemy attacks in almost every game that has that, but for some reason no arpg I've played has a skill like that.
LE has already brought plenty of innovation to the genre, so I could see it pulling this off aswell with a cool skill tree for a counter skill.
It would probably make the most sense on a Bladedancer, where the Counter would put you in a parry pose with a sword and when an enemy hits you during that period, you react with a counter attack of some sort.
I think a skill like that could add an actual use case for the 2 reflected dmg to attackers affixes beside the very few niche cases that exist right now.
By default it could last like 1s and be a basic melee slash attack in a 180° cone, triggering after a hit is parried, cooldown of 10s, 100% dmg absorption by default, meaning you take 0 dmg by parried skills. Requires 1h sword. Flat reflected dmg to attackers is applied with 500% effectiveness to the counter attack.
I feel like % reflected dmg should get reworked to apply as an %increase to the flat reflected dmg to attackers stat.
Possible skill nodes I could imagine:

- Every hit you parry during that stance extends the duration by 1s, up to 10s, but -2% dmg absorption for every hit parried. Counter attack no longer triggers when parrying something, but at the end of the duration, 50% more dmg per parried hit.
- Change the 180° slash into a Shadow Cascade cast with 200% increased area.
- Throw a piercing dagger per 20 reflected dmg to attackers when counter attacking.
- Change into a channelling skill and you can turn around freely while channelling, but lose dmg absorption at an accelerating pace until reaching 0
- Using another attack shortly after parrying enhances that attack in a unique way: -> Flurry (400% increased area) -> Puncture (300% extended range) -> Cinder Strike (+100% fire penetration) -> Shadow Cascade (cast 2 additional shadows)
- Taunt enemies around you during the duration, but -10% dmg absorption.
- Remote Tracker Gloves (any existing Decoy's are violently flung at the enemy you parried with counter attack)
- Wolf's Focus 1h Katana (Successfully parrying a hit makes you flash briefly and with a well timed Shift cast you dash forward with increased range and cast another counter attack (just the attack part, not the parry) at the end of the dash. Only works when Shift is not on cooldown.)
- Reckless Rage Helmet (You counter with 3 quick attacks instead of 1, but -50% dmg absorption during Counter attack.)
- Zerrick's Shell Body Armour (1% more armour per 10 reflected dmg to attackers, 1% endurance per 20% reflected dmg. Cannot regenerate or leech hp during Counter attack.)

My question is If that guy at the beginning of her asking for "open relationship" said that he can't accept that and wanted to divorce, would he still have to pay half of his money alimony after divorce? Because that law system is just crazy If they make you pay for the women that wanted to sleep with other men but stay in relationship.

I was just approached by two Korean girls, who started by asking me if I lived/studied here and knew any good places to eat. They were from a neighbouring city.
After I told her I was just travelling she kept asking questions; like where I have been, what I’d like to do here. She also asked questions about if I have traveled before and where; this opened a story of me going on an exchange program.
Most of these questions I answered and threw back at her, to give the quick rundown about her:
Eventually she starts reading my feelings about who I am, and starts asking difficult questions like; how do you experience life, and what I would like to change about it. There were so many more questions but due to the accent and the crowded streets I found it difficult to understand every 100% correctly.
Alarm bells were already ringing at this point; because of the questions she was asking and the fact one of the two girls hasn’t said a word yet, we were talking for about an hour at this point.
Eventually I state that life just is really flat to me, and don’t experience and ups and downs anymore; she asks why I think that is, and what the last time was that I did.
I give basically no answers because I honestly don’t know.
She then begins to tell about traditional korean ceremony, where they think about their ancestors, write down a wish on a piece of paper, and burn it. (She gave a more in depth and descriptive version of what I said here)
It just happened to that one of those ceremonies one was taking place in about 30-ish minutes and was 30 minutes away by subway.
I declined, after some prodding as to way i decline, I said it was instinct, not wanting them to feel bad, more making it look like I didn’t trust them.
She uses more psychological powers in order to convince me, but I denied again.

After I told her I was just travelling she kept asking questions; like where I have been, what I’d like to do here. She also asked questions about if I have traveled before and where; this opened a story of me going on an exchange program.
Most of these questions I answered and threw back at her, to give the quick rundown about her:
- She had lunch with a friend in Seoul and were now just walking around, she told me she does accounting and has an intrest in psychology and the Korean mindset, and talks with strangers more often, foreign and non-foreign, to quote “i like the experiences it brings, as I cannot see the back of my own head”
Eventually she starts reading my feelings about who I am, and starts asking difficult questions like; how do you experience life, and what I would like to change about it. There were so many more questions but due to the accent and the crowded streets I found it difficult to understand every 100% correctly.
Alarm bells were already ringing at this point; because of the questions she was asking and the fact one of the two girls hasn’t said a word yet, we were talking for about an hour at this point.
Eventually I state that life just is really flat to me, and don’t experience and ups and downs anymore; she asks why I think that is, and what the last time was that I did.
I give basically no answers because I honestly don’t know.
She then begins to tell about traditional korean ceremony, where they think about their ancestors, write down a wish on a piece of paper, and burn it. (She gave a more in depth and descriptive version of what I said here)
It just happened to that one of those ceremonies one was taking place in about 30-ish minutes and was 30 minutes away by subway.
I declined, after some prodding as to way i decline, I said it was instinct, not wanting them to feel bad, more making it look like I didn’t trust them.
She uses more psychological powers in order to convince me, but I denied again.

 | Ordering a scooter online is a bit of a risky adventure, especially when you review the terms and conditions and the return policy. But, you have to agree to it in able to place the order. Less risky is buying at a dealer, but you pay a significant premium for the product. I've read horror stories online about folks receiving junk and even non-operating scooters. That is a possiblity, and with the terms to which you agree, very risky. submitted by Nancy48236 to scooters [link] [comments] We were lucky, though, with Family Go Carts (FGK) and the Trailmaster Milano N 50cc scooters. I ordered, online, two Trailmaster Milano N 50cc scooters from FGK - one for me, one for my husband - on May 1,2024. We received the scooters on 5/18/2024. Considering US shipping demand, that is a reasonable time to delivery. The lady at FGK who called me to coordinate the delivery was kind, and gave instructions on how to receive and prepare for the first run (ie. Change oil - upon arrival, the engine has shipping oil in it). Shipping: "Free", but you have to pay access fee and lift-gate fee. Not too bad considering how shipping rates have skyrocketed in the last few years. She asked for our second choice in colors. Thankfully, we got our first choice - light blue and white for me and black and white for my husband. Unpackaging: Remove cardboard (there's no bottom to the cardboard). Just cut down the cardboard at any one of the corners, then walk around the steel skeleton shipping cage. Then you'll take off the top of the steel shipping skeleton. Undo all bolts and nuts on the bottom. You'll a;sp have to undo the two bolts on the top that attack the steering column fork to the steel cage. Then, just tip off the cage on one end, and continue tipping it off to the other end. Assembly: No instructions for it. Some assembly is a no-brainer, but the handlebars and front wheel require explanation. Thankfully, someone posted a video on the assembly of Trailmaster Milano: https://youtu.be/rMyJEkH3b4U?si=VRcDlm2-jIvNNGfC , I couldn't have done it without that video. Handlebar assembly: First, just get the bolt in - front to back, with the curvey part of the washer against the column and between the column and the bolt head. Notice you can't get to the nut on the backside (unless you have 6" fingers of a contortionist). Don't worry like I did. Get the bolt in, assemble the front wheel, then come back the the handlebar column. Turn the bars far to one side. Now you can reach the backside of the bolt and add the nut. We added blue Loctite to the axle and the steering column/handlebar threads for the nuts. Make sure you connect the blinkers. Trial and error to get left blinker coordinating with left blinker connector. Two trials if unlucky - not too bad. You'll still have one bod-based connector without a mate. Again, don't worry like I did - that's for the headlight. You'll assemble that later. Front wheel assembly: The front wheel assembly is best with two people. First goal is to get the scooter out of the steel shipping skeleton and on flat ground so you can support the scooter on its center stand. Get the scooter out of the steel shipping skeleton. This will require some muscle and two persons. Remove the front axle bolt that holds the scooter to the bottom part of the steel shipping skeleton. One straddles the scooter while keeping the front lifted up)shaking up and down) while the other removes the bolt axle. Once the bolt axle is removed, with muscles, one straddles the scooter while keeping the front lifted up and carefully walking through the steel cage bottom while the other person pushes from behind. Then, get the scooter center stand down so the scooter rests on that on flat, solid ground. We ended up balancing the frame of the scooter on a block of wood, then putting the center stand down. Now, work on the front wheel. Slip the silver, stainless axle bolt spacer into the wheel's disc side. It's frustrating getting the wheel on because you have to get the brake disc lined up with the brake pads (remove the pad spacer put in for shipping and toss it) and the speedometer on the other side correctly lined up with the wheel and fork, ALL that simultaneously while getting it lined up to insert the axle. Fun times! You may end up with assembly partners snapping at each other and swearing - a lot. Persistence and patience and it will get done. Add blue Loctite for final tightening on the axle nut. Oil change: Drain out all the shipping oil. There's a lot in there. After draining, we added about two cups of 15W40. Headlight and front cowl assembly: Connect the headlight to the body's headlight connector. Use the included zip ties to secure all the wires out of the way and neatly, without putting too much strain on any connections. Make sure you put the U-shaped, color matched plastic cover (in horizontal plane) separating the handlebars speedometer instruments from the front cowl. Snap it into the tabs. THEN, attach the front headlight cowl to the body. Don't do like I did - get the headlight front cowl section on then try to snap in the cover. I had to remove the headlight front cowl, snap in the color-matched cover, then re-attach the front headlight cowl. Topcase/trunk: Best with two persons, but can be done with one. Big enough for a half helmet, gloves, goggles, wallet, and other little things. Looks good on the scooter, too. Battery installation: This can be tricky. You have to have a sqare nut below the terminal screw. If you put the battery in the scooter and try to get those nuts under the terminal, you won't be able to do it. If you just try to balance the square nuts on the battery while dropping the batter into the scooter's battery compartment, the square nuts fall off. We then secured the nuts to the batter with the terminal screw only half-turned. Then drop the battery in and complete connections. First, connect the black, then connect the red. The batteries we received were fully charged. Moment of truth: Put premium gas in the tank. Since the carburetor is empty, you'll have to let the starter work a bit to get gas flowing into the engine. Didn't even take three minutes. Started right up. Whew. Let it run for a while. One sees many horror stories about buying Chinese scooters online from dealers. And, those stories are bad. As I said above, you have to agree to the terms and conditions before you can buy. Those terms and conditions put all the risk on the buyer, not the dealer. So, know what you're getting into. But, thankfully, FGK did well. We received both Trailmaster Milano N 50 scooters in a timely manner, without damage, and the scooters fired up right away. Good idle speed and it sounds like the aifuel mix is spot on. Finally, registration of your scooter in your state: My state, Virginia, requires registration of 50cc scooters so you can display a license tag on the back. To register, you need a title. You don't get a title from this dealer. But, you get enough documentation from the dealer (manufacturer's transper document, invoice, bill of lading) where you can fill out an easy affidavit for title. Get it notarized and submit with your title application and registration. Pretty easy and far easier and quicker than waiting for the dealer to do it for you, IF the dealer is willing to do it for you, that is. I didn't even ask FGK for a title transfer document, so I can't comment on their responsiveness to such a request. I did the easy work-around at the DMV. So far, so good. I've gotten it up to 32 MPH (speedo reading, not GPS-confirmed), and that wasn't at full throttle. I'm still being careful with getting to full throttle until the engine has a bit of time to break in. I am aware that we will have to wrench these scooters from time to time. Therapeutic memory reconsolidation has a dark side. It's not something typically discussed outside of the coffee rooms of the lab-rat and clinical-practices sets, where the tedium of the current work occasionally gives rise to darkly humorous dystopian speculations.
This dark side is not simply the stuff of mad-science speculation and dark fantasy. In fact, its existence predates even the discovery of the MR process itself. And it has already resulted in mild-to-catastrophic negative consequences for hundreds of thousands of people. (Depending on your perspective, it's conceivable that the current victim count could be in the tens or even hundreds of millions ... we're notorious for undercounting casualties of previously-unrecognized catastrophes. Fair disclosure: I'm one of those casualties.) It's an aspect of MR that I believe is worth knowing about for anyone seeking to exploit MR in therapy either as a practitioner or as a client.
For almost as long as the transformation (i.e. MR) phenomenon has been recognized, there have been tales of sordid applications of this effect. Religious sects, particularly the charismatic ones, have been exploiting the MR phenomenon for thousands of years, typically labeling it as either divine healing or proof of faith. Not that the results aren't beneficial for the individual. In most cases they are. But reconsolidation is only a part of the whole process of restoring health to old psychic wounds. The inducement of therapeutic MR in an individual not ready for the experience can be among the most brutal tortures imaginable, but most of the harm that comes from misapplication of the MR phenomenon can be traced to opportunistic exploitation of the setup for, and aftermath of, the transformational experience, and it's my belief that most of this harm is done by individuals and/or groups with little or no sense of the risks involved in

Thirty years prior to this, I had been ensnared by another cult, closely affiliated with the Unity Church of Today in Warren, MI at that time. Both of these cults exploited phenomena surrounding therapeutic memory consolidation as their primary lures years before we even knew that MR had a scientific footing.
The two organizations had shockingly similar modi operandi. So similar, in fact, that I still suspect that NXIVM's founder might have gotten much of his basic training from CoT's Pavillon resort in Quebec, whose month-long "therapeutic retreat" programs were a clever and completely unabashed cult indoctrination program. Ok ... well ... nearly completely unabashed ... during the month that I attended, we were only told that we were being groomed for the cult on the third-to-last day, by which time they surely knew who was ripe for the picking and who wouldn't be swayed, and were pretty confident of no open objection to such an announcement.
I want to make clear that this is not a word of exaggeration. The head of the "clinic" literally told us that if it felt to any of us like we were being recruited for a cult, he assured us that yes, we were. Nobody gasped, nobody even giggled. And as if to prove that this wasn't just dark humor, the director assured us that it was all fair play on their part since his was "the only cult that matters". That is exactly how confident Pavillon were of their methods. (Or at least they were in mid-1989 ... Pavillon appears to have vanished in the mists of history. Not every great cult idea grows up to make it to the big leagues.)
Neither "Seduced" or "The Vow" actually get under the hood and explain the psychology underlying the cult's success, let alone in context of therapeutic memory reconsolidation. In fact, I'm pretty sure that MR was never mentioned in either series. But right from the introductory/demo sessions presented in the first episode of "The Vow", most readers of this sub will instantly recognize that NXIVM leveraged the benefits and relative simplicity of MR-consistent transformational therapies to capture the attention, loyalty, and ultimately the wealth of prospective cult members.
But that's not nearly enough to lead us to a real understanding of how this happens. If either of these series' had been able to achieve that, this post could effctively end here. It's my belief that those of us who are consumers of MR-consistent services, or who work with consumers, do need this understanding. When the mechanics of the seduction are understood, it doesn't just help us to identify how malignant influences were brought to bear on potential victims, or provide us with a degree of immunity from those influences. It can also help us to better identify and relate to individuals who may be particularly vulnerable to these influences, and not just in therapy cults, but in all cult-like cultural groups, and get a better sense of how we can best communicate with people living under less-than-virtuous influence.
Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be all that difficult to acquire this understanding. Simply knowing basic MR theory and therapeutic application takes you halfway to mastery in a world still largely ignorant of how transformative change works. And the successes of Pavillon and NXIVM, coming as they did well before the general public even knew that MR was a "thing", pretty much proves it. But solving the remainder of the problem appears to involve first understanding how the application of MR-consistent methods could lead to cult exploitation in the first place.
MR-consistent transformational phenomena were relatively common knowledge back as far as the early 1980s in new-age/psychotherapy circles, and were even well-understood by certain inner-circle dwellers. And it was clear at least a decade earlier that certain disciplines practiced in a certain way were capable of producing remarkable therapeutic effects, even if no one could quite explain how or why. All Raniere and Pavillon needed to do was to refine techniques already known to be highly effective and they could reproduce those results. Which is exactly what happened, and this gave these two groups a powerful enticement, or a free sample product if you prefer, for people interested in living better, happier lives. Whatever else they did that we would likely view as objectionable or even evil, they both figured out how to get people to transformational moments in ways which were a lot easier than Erhard Seminars Training (EST), more efficient than religious or mystical practices (Transcendental Meditation, kundalini yoga, visionquesting, etc.), and less exclusive/expensive than a stay at Esalen or a year or two of the "talking cure".
So whatever we may think/feel about their methods, credit where due: they knew a good thing when they saw it and they got the transformational part right. So how did techniques which we rely upon to free us from exploitation by our own nervous systems become tools for THEIR exploitation? On the surface it seems like using MR to coerce and enslave people makes about as silly as trying to poison someone with multivitamins. But there's a clever logic to it, and to understand this we need to look beyond the bounds of MR and the transformational phenomenon, and at how the entire transformation process is managed. (And there's the operative word: managed, not facilitated.
We know MR as the process that underlies transformation. But transformation isn't healing, but only a subprocess within a greater restoration process. Healing doesn't usually even end the process, either. Following transformation, stress must be managed until the subject's next full sleep cycle or treatment efficacy is substantially impaired. Even beyond that, the structure of post-traumatic adaptation leaves the individual vulnerable to retraumatization in the wake of treatment, meaning that in perhaps a majority of cases, the triggers which activate PTS symptoms need to be kept to a

It's been a quite a while since we split, but I'm still not fully over her. Now I find out she's been in a happy relationship for some time. It hurts ngl, I'm also happy cus I really feel like hearing that is pushing me in the proper directions of closure, but fuck man, it hurts. I Wanna cry but the tears won't come out, yall probably know that feeling I'm talking about.
