Found an old Bytebeat from u/Worst_Code_Ever, so I decided to temporarily come back, and remix this soft melody, by combining a hard Breakbeat Drum Pattern from u/Greaserpirate. This resulted in a fusion genre, that I call "Brazillian Breakbeat"

Chance for sepulchure figure to come back to circulation, GET THIS POST CRAZY! SHARE IT!
Hello everyone! It has been confirmed in the main aqw discord that if we get this post to take off, like hella take off we have a chance of actually getting the sepulchure figure's back into heromart! Share this on twitter, share this on reddit, let's get upvotes and bring this childhood nostagia toy and the code back to heromart.

2024.04.04 17:15 kappachungusio A huge issue with heromart. [Rare codes, resellers, Abuse]

Hello aqw. I hope someone from the team sees this. I fear that in general aqw has become a lucrative market for some, with a lot of resellers clearing out stock and selling items for absurd prices.
After coming back to the game, and seeing that only a month ago legion paladin was available I got my hopes up of buying a code, only to be greeted with an 800$ price tag from Nurse_Ae, and 400$ from some other resellers.
To add, I really wanted the cardclasher code I used to have, and a lot of other codes, however, any "rare" code is being sold at a mark-up of 400% for no particular reason. I fear that the prices have just gone so high because those people are "Abusing the market" by buying a large portion of the stock [20+] and then ruining the experience for us as they dictate the prices.
I wish that AQW starts adding old items back to the store, such as cardclasher, deady, etc, for limited time so people can buy it, once a year or once every two years. I've seen some rares come back, but it's so sad to me that I cannot spend money to support you guys, and instead if I wanted any heromart code I'd have to go pay some Brazilian or philippino individual abusing heromart and reselling codes at a huge mark up.
To also add, I believe that there should be some integrity from heromart, to allow only a maximum of 2 sales per person or IP to avoid this from re-occurring? I don't know. It's very frustrating. I am sad. This isn't a solution obviously, but I miss being able to use the items I used to love without having to spend a monthly salary just to get 2-3 heromart codes.
TLDR: Add old heromarts back to the store in rotation every 1-2 years, allow us to get them from you so we don't have to buy them from shitty 3rd party sites to re-live our nostalgia spending half a kidney every single time.
Do note: sorry for the evident spam previously, I just wanted to make some troll posts to see peoples reactions :p oopsie.

2024.02.25 14:05 Patriot_Jay Enlistment Gift?

Coasties,
U.S. Army Infantry Vet here; I know we give you Coasties a hard time, but trust me, I'm here in good faith. A good friend of mine is about to ship out to your version of BCT in April, and we're going to have a going-away dinner for him next month. I'd like to get him a going-away present.
Of course, there will be gag gifts to see him off, but I need ideas for an actual legitimate 'I'm going to miss you, and wish you the best' kind of gift. His goal is to be one of those SAR Helicopter techs, and I'd like to keep it under $200. What would you recommend? What gadget/device would make life easier for this profession?

Perspective On Long Drug Development Timelines $NWBO and $REGN Regeneron

It has been argued many times by shorts that a company developing a breakthrough drug for 20 or more years is unprecedented and really a sign of failure, not success, but this is simply not true. And for the cell therapy space, many of these treatments are literally LIVING DRUGS. They have not had an easy path to commercialization over many years but recent years have seen success. Technologies have improved, researchers and companies have improved the processes and technologies by which such drugs can be commercialized, and quite frankly, the entire notion of long development efforts indicating failure is ahistorical and not at all consistent with history generally or with the history of scientific discovery.
Let me share this story from the NYTimes. I'm going to just give the beginning part and a free access link for people to read it themselves. The main point is literally at the very beginning however. If the view of shorts held, Regeneron would not exist. But it's quite a successful company. So this argument is not a rule. Some people claim there are "rules" which is nonsense. Science, technology development and research follow their own paths and the notion that such absolute rules exist has been proven wrong repeatedly, especially with regard to certain not very bright commentators in this space.

Success Long in Coming for Eylea, a Vision Treatment
By Andrew Pollack
Nov. 20, 2011
It has three Nobel Prize winners on its board. Its chairman, P. Roy Vagelos, is a pharmaceutical industry star who ran Merck during its heyday. Its chief scientist has written frequently cited biomedical papers.
Yet for all that, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals has known mostly failure in nearly 24 years of existence, piling up cumulative losses of $1.2 billion.
But that is now changing. Late Friday, the company won approval from the Food and Drug Administration for what is expected to be its first big drug — to treat the wet form of age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of severe vision loss in the elderly.
For a year after approval, short's kept the share price FLAT for REGN. But Eylea was a blockbuster drug.
So shorts and manipulators can really hang on. But the reality is, they are frequently WRONG. They don't want you to know that, so they bring a lot of effort to fighting success no matter what. They work extremely hard to discourage longs and undermine confidence in companies and their management, no matter who they are, and no matter how competent they are... doesn't matter. Their job is to change the narrative and discourage interest. But the reality is, they often just flat out lie. Complexity is their friend, and the story for many of these companies and new technologies is filled with complexity. They presume that investors like a simple story. So they relentlessly give a narrow, simple story of failure and work to keep the price low to affirm that they are right.
The reality is, we all hope to see a squeeze here. Imagine if we saw a squeeze like GME's.
Wouldn't that be something!

Success Long in Coming for Eylea, a Vision Treatment

The drug, called Eylea, can be injected into the eye less frequently than the current standard, Genentech’s Lucentis, according to the labels of the two drugs.

Eylea is also slightly less expensive, at $1,850 an injection versus $1,950 for Lucentis. Regeneron argues that Eylea would save the health care system thousands of dollars a year per patient, factoring in the fewer injections and also fewer doctor visits and examinations.
Eylea, however, is still more expensive that Avastin, a Genentech cancer drug that costs only $50 a dose when used off-label to treat macular degeneration. Avastin accounts for more than half the macular degeneration market, despite some recent contamination incidents that have raised safety concerns.
The approval is a vindication for Dr. Leonard S. Schleifer, 59, who has been chief executive since founding Regeneron in early 1988, making him almost certainly the longest-reigning chief executive in the biotechnology industry.
Dr. Schleifer, who has a medical degree and doctorate in pharmacology, said the company’s top priority is science.
“We thought that good science would win out a little earlier, but we are patient,” he said in an interview Sunday.

Regeneron is not the only company to eat up decades and billions of dollars. Both Vertex Pharmaceuticals, founded in 1989, and Human Genome Sciences, started in 1992, won approvals for their first big drugs only this year, for hepatitis C and lupus, respectively.
Regeneron first focused on nerve growth factors to treat neurological illnesses like Lou Gehrig’s disease. Those did not work. But one of the drugs seemed to make people lose weight, so the company then tested it as an obesity treatment. That failed as well, in 2003.
Still, the company had other projects to fall back on. And Dr. Schleifer remained in office, helped by his ownership of founder’s stock carrying 10 votes per share.
Regeneron won approval for its first drug in 2008, but for an extremely rare disease, cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes. Sales of the drug, Arcalyst, were only $14.9 million in the first nine months of this year.
Eylea, by contrast, is expected by analysts to reach hundreds of millions of dollars in annual sales. Sales of Lucentis in the United States were about $1.5 billion last year, according to Roche, Genentech’s parent company.
SKIP ADVERTISEMENT
Eylea could be just the opening act. Regeneron has two other applications for drug approvals pending at the F.D.A. — for Zaltrap, a colorectal cancer drug, and for Arcalyst, to treat gout.
It is also leading the race to develop a new class of powerful cholesterol-lowering drugs called PCSK9 inhibitors. And it is developing many drugs in a partnership with Sanofi that brings Regeneron at least $160 million per year.
Dr. Schleifer gives credit to the chief scientist, Dr. George D. Yancopoulos, who has been with Regeneron almost since its founding and before that was an immunology researcher at Columbia University.
“We have a whole pipeline of things that are all his inventions,” Dr. Schleifer said.
He declined to say when he expected Regeneron to become profitable. That could depend to some extent on Eylea’s sales.
Like Lucentis and Avastin, Eylea blocks the action of vascular endothelial growth factor, a protein that causes blood vessels to proliferate and leak fluid into the eye.
SKIP ADVERTISEMENT
The recommended dosing of Eylea, also known as aflibercept, or VEGF Trap-Eye, is once every four weeks for the first three injections, followed by once every eight weeks thereafter.
The label for Lucentis recommends injections once every four weeks, though many doctors inject less frequently.
Many eye doctors have expressed outrage at the price of Lucentis when compared to off-label Avastin. Regeneron executives say they heeded those complaints and did not price Eylea higher than Lucentis, even though they could have because of the more convenient dosing.
“This is very smart and will make Regeneron the ‘good guy,’ ” Yaron Werber, biotechnology analyst at Citigroup, said in a note Friday. He said that would make Eylea more popular with doctors.
Genentech said that data does not clearly establish that Eylea can be used less frequently than Lucentis. It also accuses Regeneron of patent infringement, which Regeneron denies. A lawsuit on the issue has not yet gone to trial.

2024.01.29 03:08 Biditchoun 2023 Day 12 Part 2 [C] Can you help me find a line that doesn't work with my code ?

Hullo,
So for this part, for the first time, I'm a bit on a roadblock : I can't find anything that doesn't work with my code, but I don't get the right answer either.
I have one function in my code that bruteforces every possibility by replacing the question marks by the right amount of missing hashes, and returns the number of valid amount of possibilities following the conditions. My suspicion is that there are some cases where that part of the code doesn't work properly, but I have not found such cases. I modified it a bit so the function becomes a main so that I can fiddle around with it, this is what I am posting below (you can change the line and the conditions at the top of the main, those would be sent as parameters to the function in the program).
My question is, can you find any given line that does not work properly with it ? If yes, can you give me that line ? To be clear, I don't want you to fix my code, I am a beginner with all that, so for now I prefer playing around with my own poop :D
(I didn't understand how to use mark down code thingy, so I used the topaz_paste thingy, I hope it works)
link here
PS : Yes, I know I am not protecting malloc, but I don't care about that right now.

Edit : I guess I can add what I get with my input. On the left of each line is the number of arrangements my code found, then the line, then there is the conditions to respect. link here
Edit2 : I just realized my title is wrong, it is part 1, not part 2. I don't seem to be able to rectify it, so uh that's that.

2024.01.27 22:08 MoreLikeGaewyn 19-60 hardcore pug tank guy guide

A lot of people were asking for my build/addons/tips in my original post so I figured I'd just make a dedicated post explaining everything. These are all just my opinions tanking deep prot through hardcore. I've never 2H tanked because I sexually identify as a sword + shield class fantasy better, but 2H until 50 is probably more optimal, especially if you're also soloing between dungeons. Check out the comments of this post as people are posting great advice as well that I missed in this writeup or don't directly use.

My dungeon diet meme spec

https://classicdb.ch/?talent#LV0bZVxzZxfzseMkVo
2/5 Tactical mastery because I stay in defensive and only switch for mocking blow/intercept/berserker rage
Only 3/5 Toughness because 2% armor from items was coming out to be virtually nothing. It’s incredible when you’re raid geared, it’s mathematically garbage before then
0/10 Anticipation because only defense from leveled skill affects crushing blow frequency and +10 defense only comes out to be ~2% avoidance iirc
its probably bad so feel free to avoid

Addons

Threat Plates - One of the single biggest advantages you can have as a tank. Shows what mobs have agro on you, which ones don’t, and which ones are on the verge of losing it.
WeakAura - Place meters, cooldowns, etc wherever you’d like on your screen. Mine uses it for the cooldown setup I have as well as hp and rage. Your attention economy suffers when you have to constantly dart top left to see your hp/rage, bottom for cooldowns, top for target, and middle for combat. Best to make those all as close as possible. Luna Unit Frames - Group bars and target bar (Not pictured in screenshot, but typically placed just above the center UI)
Bartender - Remove all excess UI. Even having had this setup for 3 years, if my bottom bar is visible, my eyes are still tempted to look down at it, so best to remove it. Use Shift + C to open all bags, etc. And many won’t do this, but I highly recommend hiding your exp bar while leveling. Time flies when you’re not constantly looking at your gradual progress and it feels great when you suddenly level out of nowhere.

Tanking tips

  1. Download Threat Plates. See above; Single biggest thing you can do for yourself.
  2. Always Shoot to pull, never charge. Hide behind corners to allow casters to group up on you, and always battle shout at your group after you’ve pulled to get a baseline agro which will prevent mobs from swapping to the healer. You can often “taunt” a ranged mob to start attacking you again by battle shouting 1-2 times if they’ve swapped late in the fight due to excessive heal agro. Feel free to use Charge if the mobs/boss are in a dead end or corner.
  3. Keep a rage buffer and use bloodrage to maintain rage between pulls. Intellect means nothing if you are never at full mana. Stamina means nothing if you are never at full HP. You are putting yourself at a disadvantage by not keeping your rage bar as high as possible while still maintaining threat. This rage reservoir gives you the flexibility to use more if you so need on certain pulls. You can usually fill up your entire bar by just keeping agro via taunt/revenge on one mob. Only use as much rage as you need to in order to hold threat.
  4. Emphasize Focus Fire and Kill Order. Mobs not running around attacking others mean DPS don’t have to be running away from them, running to them, gouging, nova’ing. It means DPS can fully focus on DPS and seamlessly switch from one mob to the next with zero interruption in their flow of damage. Mobs dying one-by-one as well as the tank’s mitigation means healers don’t need to drink, and you can pull faster. DPS exists as a concept across the entire duration of the dungeon. If you are waiting on mana, you are not dealing damage and the dungeon is not being finished any sooner.
  5. Keybind your raid markers. Quickly mark the kill order, Skull, X, Moon, etc without having to navigate excel dropdown menu bullshit.
  6. Understand the mental limitations of your group and keep your cool. Most hunters cannot identify shapes. Most mages can’t grasp the concept of delayed gratification. Groups following kill order are the exception, not the rule. Don’t get upset or angry when DPS can’t follow procedure, just do your best to work around them if tactful communication has failed.
  7. Build threat on X first. Once mobs arrive and the group is attacking skull, get a solid base on X. Maybe just one revenge or sunder. Once your threat plates addon goes yellow/red on skull, taunt skull to steal all the agro the group built up on it. You can also conc blow skull on pull arrival to build up threat on all other targets before switching to skull (if it’s still alive.)
  8. Almost always use Demoralizing Shout. It is roughly a flat 20% reduction in damage. Look at your armor mitigation. It’s probably around 40~55%. If I told you, “Here’s an item that doesn’t take a slot and bumps that up by 20%,” you’d probably call it a cheat code. That’s what demo shout is. Not to mention that it applies to the group. Maybe don’t use it if the group is shredding or it’s just one mob, but keep it as a high priority.
  9. Always use Battle Shout. At level 60, it is giving me a 13 damage per second increase. Much like demo shout, if I offered you an enchant that added 13 dps to your weapon that didn’t take up the enchantment slot, you’d be floored. Also, not to mention what it brings to the group. Use an addon like my weakaura to alert you when it’s off. Note: Battle shout does much more threat than demo shout.
  10. If using a shield, and especially if you have Improved Shield Block talent, consider using shield block upon pull. It immediately triggers a revenge proc which generates much more threat than sunder armor. So, in summary, you are blocking 1-2 hits and getting more threat for the same amount of rage as a sunder. (Though, sunder’s armor decrease is dope too.)
  11. Use Berserker Rage before a pull if you already have zero rage. Switching to berserker stance to cast it and then immediately back to defensive stance just give you a little bonus to rage generation for 10 seconds.
  12. Don’t invite other warriors. Their whirlwinds will make your life hell, their improved battle shout will kill your key initial agro tool, they usually do shit dps in 5-mans, and they’re competition for your gear. Every time I’ve tried to be open-minded on this, I usually immediately remember why I shouldn’t.
  13. Centralize your UI. Use whatever, but try to customize it so your hp, rage, target, and cooldowns are all near the center of your screen. Your attention at any moment is limited, so it is best not to have to dart your eyes to the top left for your hp/rage, bottom for cooldowns, top for target, and center of the screen for combat. Use bartender to remove all excess UI so it’s not redundant and you’re not tempted to look at the native ability bar for cooldowns.
  14. Keybind everything. Never click again. It will have a small learning curve, but within 1-2 dungeons, it should be second nature. Removing all UI except hp/rage/cooldowns and knowing all your ability binds makes tanking feel like an extension of yourself rather than constantly having to track 12 things going on.
  15. Wait for pats. Patience is the god stat in hardcore. Don’t waste 100+ hours trying to save 45 seconds.
  16. Don’t skip packs. Once again, patience is the god stat in hardcore. Reduce liabilities wherever you see them even if, “we’ll be fiiiiinneeeee….” Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
  17. Almost always start your own groups. Be the master of your fate. Don’t be at the mercy of some dildo, be that dildo. If someone’s a liability and a dick, you can kick them. You’ll always have access to readycheck. You’re a tank, you should not have trouble creating groups. I like to start by calling, “LFM - Heals + DPS - Razorfen Downs - 39+” and then adding in “LF3M…” “LF2M…” once it starts fleshing out.
  18. Ask for lead to /readycheck. You’re the puller, and this is an invaluable tool to ensure everyone is attentive before the next pull. If your healer tabbed out, or their dog shat on the rug while you pull, it’s gonna be rough. Also use this before starting escort quests in which everyone needs to turn in the first step first, such as RFD or BRD.
  19. Never use taunt if you already have agro. Taunt does not generate additional threat. Do not use it unless the mob has gone red on your threat plates (or yellow and flipped given latency). The only exception is if you want to utilize the 3 seconds of guaranteed agro.
  20. Don’t sleep on Mocking blow. If you have trouble establishing threat off the bat, get caught in the negative feedback loop of can’t get hit to generate it, and taunt is on cooldown, try to get at least 10 rage, and use Mocking Blow to guarantee a taunt for 6 seconds, which is an eternity for a pull.
  21. Don’t bother with Thunderclap for threat. It’s great if you really wanna throttle a tough pull/boss’ damage output, but battle stance has a 0.8x threat modifier. You’re probably better off battle shouting or just tab sundering.
  22. Put your back against the wall for bosses with knockback/threat drops. Allows you to easily taunt back. If it’s impractical, always just intercept back in.
  23. If Prot spec, use Concussive Blow to chain pull. Once the last mob in a pack is at 70% hp, use conc and run off to mark and pull the next pack. As prot spec and the group focusing targets, your healer should never need to drink and your DPS should always have mobs to kill. 3/3 Imp. Revenge can also usually serve this if conc is on CD.
  24. Always use Gift of Arthas. It applies a debuff to all mobs that hit you causing them to take 8 more damage per hit. They’re cheap as fuck and boost group damage by around 10% iirc when I did the math.
  25. Bring water. Always have at least two stacks of the latest water in your bags. It sucks that you should, but don’t put your fate in the hands of mouthbreathers that will slow your pull cadence. Mobs aren’t the only thing acting against you that you must mitigate, sometimes it's your party members’ negligence.
  26. Grab resistance potions. A shadow protection potion is like 30 silver and completely negates 90% of Arugal’s damage. A nature protection potion is like 10 silver and completely negates the RFK boss’ damage. Buy a couple and hand them out before Princess Theredras to completely remove the fart damage. These turn bosses into pushovers.
  27. Don’t sleep on disarm. It’s a lot of rage, but it’s also about a 20% reduction in damage. Not bad on certain mobs and bosses.
  28. Get Mark of the Chosen as soon as viable. This trinket from maraudon gives 2% chance on being hit to increase all stats by 25, given how often you’re hit in dungeons, it is virtually always active. That translates to 50 attack power, 250 hp, 1.25% dodge, and 1.25% crit.
  29. Get Thrash Blade as soon as viable. Beast of a weapon for its level, but its procs generate rage, and it can proc off shield slam, revenge and allegedly sunder armor(?). This creates a minor positive feedback loop where your rage generates even more rage. Use this till you know better not to.
  30. Use retaliation on last dungeon bosses until you get shield wall. Because why not.

2024.01.27 08:58 CheetahUpbeat Heromart Code Resellers

Hey, I’m thinking about returning to AQW, AQ3D and DragonFable. I’ve been looking at the badges and the in-game unlocks that I’ve gotten through my years playing AQW back in the day and looked around the Heromart. Then, I realized that there are resellers for these codes for the in-game rewards. However, they’re much more expensive than the real thing.
The calendars sell for $20 but these resellers sell the codes for $30. Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just buy the real thing get the in-game rewards and get the physical thing we bought? Or am I missing something here?

2024.01.20 04:18 biosectinvestor Perspective On Long Drug Development Timelines $NWBO and $REGN Regeneron

See Dumb Money - you'll enjoy it!

2024.01.08 14:44 miik99mai Questions about Calendar classes

Is it a code, or an account redeem? And whichever it is, do you get the classes immediately, or upon calendar retrieval? and finally do you get the rewards in all games or just one at a time, like picking between chronoshadowslayer in aqw, or virtuoso in dragonfable? I have been wanting a calendar class for a while and decided to get one this year but i don't know how they are distributed.

2023.12.08 21:02 ShrimpSherbet First time going to WWWY? Here are complete answers to the most common questions, from someone who has attended 4 times.

I went both days in 2022 and both days in 2023 = 4 times. I've also been to Las Vegas more than 14 times. Am I an expert? I really can't say, but yes.
I see a lot of people worrying and asking the same general questions, which is normal for someone who has never been to this particular festival and/or to Las Vegas. Here's an attempt to help out, including questions I wish someone had answered for me on previous years.
Anyway, let's get to it. We're not getting any younger. *Pause for laughter* – ... *Crickets* Alrighty.

**Ticketing and Admission:*\*
- How and where can I purchase tickets on resale? You can look at a variety of resale websites, however, people like Stubhub because it's a known brand. Others have mentioned Cash or Trade but I can't personally vouch for it as I've never used it. This year (2023), tickets got cheaper as the festival got closer. This is no indication that it will happen again next year, it's just food for thought.
- Can tickets be refunded or resold if I can't attend? Refunded no. Resold, yes. You're welcome to do whatever you want with your ticket, however, reselling in 2024 will be a bit trickier. More info on this as we get closer to the date.
- When will they announce set-times? They usually announce them within a week of the festival.
- Can I upgrade my ticket to VIP after initial purchase? Nope.

**Travel and Accommodation:*\*
- What are the best travel options to Las Vegas for the festival? Depends on where you live, of course. Most people will fly in, so checking Google Flights and Southwest (because they don't advertise on Google Flights) is your best option. Remember Expedia and Hotels.com offer discounts on packages that include hotel and plane tickets. Might be worth it to look into those. Before you travel to Las Vegas: open Google Maps, search "Las Vegas", then download the map. This will help you navigate the city should you lose access to the Internet on your phone, including and especially, after the festival.
- Are there any recommended hotels or accommodations near the festival venue? Yes, many. It's Las Vegas: one of the cities with the most hotel rooms in the world. There are many many hotels in the city, both close to the festival grounds and further: it all depends on your budget and what you'd like in a hotel. Expedia has good filters for looking at guest ratings. Remember: at least on Expedia, guest ratings are way more valuable/important/accurate than the rating a hotel might have. For example: a 3-star hotel could have amazingly good guest ratings, but a 4-star hotel could be deemed shit by guests. Having said this, most people are only going for 1-3 nights, so finding a decent place to just crash for a few hours at night should be fairly easy.
- Should I book a hotel in Downtown Vegas, on the Strip, or off-strip? I honestly love Downtown, way more than the strip. It has a funner vibe, is way cheaper to gamble and eat, and is much more fun to me. I love staying at the Downtown Grand (try the Prime Rib at their restaurant, thank me later) or Circa (the biggest fucking sports screen I've seen in my life, and excellent drinks service) to name a few. Hotels on the strip are fine as well, but will be very very expensive that weekend. There's also a few hotels off-strip like the Orleans or the Gold Coast, which are totally fine as well. Both of those have really good restaurant options inside the casinos btw. Read customer reviews on Expedia and you should be fine if you stay at a hotel with something like a 3.8 or above rating.
- Are there shuttle services from hotels or the airport to the festival grounds? Not that I know of.
-How do I get from the airport to my hotel? UbeLyft or airport taxi. Airport taxis offer fixed rates, so check those and then UbeLyft, then get the cheapest one. The airport is very close to the strip, and most hotels are on or near the strip, so it'll be a very short drive regardless.
- How do I get to the festival from my hotel? This is the easy part, because everyone is coming from different places. You can check out public transport on Google maps, get an UbeLyft/taxi, or walk if it's close enough. just remember you're going to be on your feet for hours and hours, so maybe walking a long distance isn't the best idea.
- How do I get to the hotel from the festival? This is the one that a lot of people struggle with, but don't worry: there's a "hidden secret" that apparently most people don't know about: there's a bus called The Deuce. https://rtcws.rtcsnv.com/routepdf/deuce.pdf
It runs 24/7. You're going to walk out of the festival grounds, and towards the hotel Circus Circus, which is right across the street from the grounds. After the Circus Circus is a place called "Slots a Fun" (a mini casino that is an extension of the Circus Circus, located outside) with big ol' letters that you can't miss. Literally in front of the Slots a Fun entrance, is a bus stop. You're going to wait there, and get on The Deuce going south (towards the strip). You'll pay a very small fare (get some cash cus I can't remember how much it is but it's not more than $3), and then ride The Deuce down the strip to the casino of your choice; I recommend something a bit further away, like the Excalibur or Luxor, as they're a bit less frequented than the Bellagio and Caesar's Palace. You'll get off The Deuce at Excalibur or Luxor, walk into the casino, and then find the designated area (all hotels have one because you can't get picked up on the strip itself) where an UbeLyft/taxi can pick you up and take you to your hotel. It will be significantly cheaper and easier to do this, instead of trying to get an Uber outside the festival with 80,000 people trying to do the same. I've done this both years, and you will see that I'm right, because once you get on the bus, you will see thousands of people walking huge distances towards their hotel unnecessarily, and it's especially painful after standing up for eight hours in the middle of a crowd. Use The Deuce to get out of the huge crowded area, then get an Uber to your hotel at any casino.
- What if my hotel is north of the festival grounds? Then cross the street and grab the northbound Deuce! I linked to the route above. Also: use Google Maps.
- What are the average flight and hotel prices during the festival season? You can see for yourself. Check Expedia and Google Flights. The closer to the festival, the worse it'll get. You can get refundable plane tickets and hotel rooms, just to have something booked. I already have a hotel and I don't have a flight or even a festival ticket lol but I will get 'em later next year.
- How early should I arrive in Las Vegas before the festival starts? That's up to you. Some people like to get there a few days before because 1) it's cheaper 2) they wanna enjoy LV before going to the festival.
- Can I extend my stay in Las Vegas for tourism after the festival? Yep. My group and I often will stay 2-3 days extra, to get to enjoy Vegas and to get cheaper flights back. Hotels are dirt-cheap the Monday and Tuesday after the festival weekend.
- How much will it cost me to attend the festival? It won't be cheap, that's for sure. You have to factor in the price of festival tickets, hotels, airplane tickets, food, and transportation. You might also want to add what you will spend on drinks, potentially playing at a few casinos, and buying some merchandise. It really depends on each person, because flights and hotels will vary depending on your group, when you book, and where you're coming from.

**Festival Experience:*\*
- How are the stages and performance areas organized? Look up previous years' maps to get an idea. Two main stages are literally right next to each other, and the other two are away from the main two, and close to each other as well (although not right next to each other). It's a walk, especially later in the day, but you'll be fine.
- Are there meet-and-greet events with artists? Not usually but keep your eye out.
- Are there any official festival after-parties or additional events? Yeah, there are some shows that happen before the festival, usually 2-3 bands or some stand-alones like Green Day did this year. Check the festival social media and potentially something like Ticketmaster.
- Are there any secret or surprise performances that are common at this festival? Both years, there have been surprise guests joining bands onstage.
- How long does each artist typically perform? Usually between 30 and 45 mins, and the bigger bands get more time. It'll vary this year though, as they'll be album sets. We will learn more closer to the date.
- What is it like inside the festival? It is a humongous venue, covered head to toe with stands that sell drinks and food. The 4 stages are separated from each other, except for the two main stages. There are several areas where you can lay or sit down, that are shady and separated from the crowds. These are really good to rest and have some lunch. The crowds are immense, and keep getting bigger throughout the day more popular bands start playing. It's perfectly safe inside. You will, inevitably, be in the sun and heat so prepare accordingly. I highly, highly suggest not going to the festival hungover. You will suffer. Also, have a big big breakfast before going, so you can last a while. Food and drink inside the venue is not cheap. Yes, you can leave the venue and grab lunch elsewhere, but it'll be a pain in the ass to get back in. Not worth it, in my opinion.

**Preparation and Packing:*\*
- What should I pack for the festival? I recommend packing:
Bring as little shit as possible!
- Are there any prohibited items I should be aware of? Yes, many. Check the official website for a list. Don't gamble by bringing things they're telling you not to bring.
- What is the typical dress code for attendees? I highly recommend wearing cool clothing, as the heat is fucking gross. I wore shorts, a t-shirt, and my most comfortable shoes. You'll be in the heat and sun, standing, for hours on end. No shame in wearing your walking shoes and some comfy clothing. Having said this, of course you can wear whatever the hell you want as long as it doesn't have sharp shit on it or something nuts like that. Many people wore costumes, others were in punk-y leather (hot as fuck, I'd rather die), and a lot of gals were in high-heels. Rawr, yes, but you'll regret it after a couple hours of standing in the same place, sweetie.
- Are there restrictions on accessories like backpacks or hats? Read the website. Hats should be fine, and backpacks are ok as long as they're transparent and within the size limits. I know several people will say "I brought a large, non-transparent backpack last year, and with no issues at security". This is true, I saw a few people with backpacks that were considerably larger than mine, however, why risk it? Either way, the smaller the backpack, the less hot your back will get. You don't need a lot of space anyway.

**Safety, Security, and Accessibility:*\*
- How strict is security at the event? Pretty strict. They go through your entire backpack and then you go through a metal detector. Yes, yes, you can smuggle shit in (I smuggled a small bottle of Tylenol lol) but that's up to you.
- Are there medical and first aid services on site? Yep.
- Is the festival accessible for people with disabilities? Yes, quite. Check the maps, they tell you where the designated areas are. Honestly, they had pretty good views of the stage.

**Food, Drinks, and Facilities:*\*
- What food and drink (including water) options are available at the festival? They sell just about anything when it comes to food and drink. Beer, spirits, mixed drinks, hotdogs, hamburgers, Italian food, Korean food, Mexican food, pretzels, fresh-cut fruit, ice cream, you name it. Everything is cashless! Make sure you bring a credit card, and here's another tip: add a credit card to your phone's wallet, in case you lose the physical card. Either way it's easier to just pull your phone out and tap to pay.
- Are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free food options available? Yes, all of the above.
- Can I bring my own food and snacks? No
- Are there water refill stations available? Yes, many. The water is cool, abundant, and doesn't taste of anything which to me is fantastic. They're in multiple spots, and I never ever saw a line.
- What are the restroom facilities like? Abundant as well. For some reason, people love to make immense lines outside the bathrooms that were located next to the main shady spot this year, the ones that were inside actual concrete buildings. There were lines of many many people, but literally just around the corner to the right of the ice cream stand, there was a village of porta potties that were in surprisingly good condition, and there was never a line for a single one. They even had a different kind of porta potty that was very well ventilated, excellent for taking a dump in the middle of the day without anyone rushing you. There are many many restrooms, don't stand in line for 30 mins unnecessarily. Just check the damn map, folks!

**Technology and Connectivity:*\*
- Can I charge my phone or electronic devices on-site? You can if you bring your powerbank and cable lol. Otherwise, I didn't see anywhere one could plug in.
- Are there any festival apps or digital guides I should download? Yes, the official app can be downloaded from the app store. You can find the link on the official website.
- Can I use the app to navigate the festival grounds? Yes, however, it'll consume data. Download an image of the map instead.
- How reliable is cell service at the festival location? It was pretty damn shitty for me on all four occasions I went. I recommend setting a meeting spot in case you lose your party, or getting one of those messaging apps that let you send messages using Bluetooth.

**Merchandise and Shopping:*\*
- Is there official festival merchandise for sale? Yes, since one day before the first festival day, and through the end of the second festival day. Lines are absurd, FYI. Again: card only. Hot tip: there are always people selling festival t-shirts outside the Circus Circus for like $10-15 lol fuck paying $50 for a t-shirt.

**Legal and Regulatory Concerns:*\*
- What are the laws regarding alcohol consumption at the festival? You can buy and drink alcohol at the festival.
- Are there age restrictions for purchasing alcohol? Yes, the ones that Federal law dictates: 21 years old. Bring an ID if you have babyface. Actually, bring an ID regardless.

**Extras and Special Features:*\*
- Can VIP ticket holders access special areas or stages? Yes, read up on your package details.
- Is camping available at the festival? No
- Can I find facilities like charging stations or air-conditioned spaces? Charging stations, I don't think so. Air-conditioned spaces: not really, although anything but the base admission ticket can access areas that are very well ventilated and shady.

**Exploring Las Vegas:*\*
- What are some must-see attractions in Las Vegas outside of the festival? Depends on what you like. If you like to gamble, you're in heaven. If you don't, you might get bored. However, if you're only in town 1-2 nights, you'll be fine just walking around the strip. Vegas is a sight to behold, especially at night. Lots of good eats and sights.

**Solo Travel:*\*
- Should I go to the festival by myself? Sure! Many people go by themselves. Just be safe and plan your days carefully. A lot of people that were going by themselves found others and ended up forming small groups. I personally think that there should be a thread on this subreddit where people can meet each other and be able to go to the festival together. That's up to you though, but yes, you should totally go by yourself as opposed to not going because nobody you know shares your music tastes or something. It's a fantastic experience and you will enjoy yourself. Either way, you're always going to be surrounded by a lot of friendly people anyway!

**Miscellaneous:*\*

-When did you write all of this? Don't you have a job and/or a life? No. Shut up.

I feel like I was pretty thorough, but I also feel like I'm forgetting some stuff. Hit me up in the comments with your suggestions!

2023.12.08 09:40 stringlesskite is it possible to type a named function the way a arrow function is typed?

Hi all,
I recently was looking at the Sveltekit hooks documentation and noticed that they write their functions in both arrow functions and named functions.
What made me boggle my brain for a moment is that their arrow functions had a typed argument, while a named function did not (and resulted in red squigglies in IDE). When it dawned on me that it was not the arrow function that was typed but the constvariable, it made me think of how one would implement the same as a named function. So far I only came up with the idea to type the arguments, and the return value (or have it inferred).
tldr: is it possible to type a named function (without adding type info individually to the arguments and return value(?
type MyFnArgs = { myNum: number, myString: string } type MyFnReturnValue = void type MyFn = ({ myNum, myString }: MyFnArgs) => MyFnReturnValue const myArrowFn: MyFn = ({ myNum, myString }) => { console.log("arrow function with typed args") } function myNamedFn({ myNum, myString }) { console.log("named function with UNtyped args") } function myTypedNamedFn({ myNum, myString }: MyFnArgs): MyFnReturnValue /* could be inferred */ { console.log("named function with typed args") }

Winter is Here — Halloween Snow Incoming

The Summary: Temperatures on Friday are forecasted to drop into the 40s during the day and 20s at night. There is a 40% chance of snow on Saturday, but accumulation is not anticipated. High temperatures will stay in the 30s into early November, about 20 degrees below the usual low 50s for this time of year.
A repeat of 1991? Despite the earlier than usual snow, don’t expect anything like the blizzard of 1991 when the Twin Cities had 28 inches of snow accumulation on Halloween.
Expect a warmer winter: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting warmer than average temperatures this winter in Minnesota.

Minneapolis Ranks Third-Worst in Downtown Recovery Among U.S. and Canadian Cities

Politics

Dean Phillips Presidential Campaign Bus Spotted: Despite not having officially announced his presidential bid, Dean Phillips’ campaign bus was spotted in New Hampshire. According to WCCO, Phillips is expected to announce his bid on Friday.
Rep. Ilhan Omar Breaks Ranks: Omar, who represents Minneapolis, was one of just 10 House members to vote against a resolution supporting Israel's right to self-defense in the wake of attacks by Hamas. Omar felt it didn't adequately acknowledge and mourn the Palestinians killed by Israel in retaliation. Betty McCollum, the representative from St. Paul, called for an immediate ceasefire on all sides.
Tom Emmer’s House Speaker Bid is Short Lived: Within three hours of winning the GOP nomination to become speaker of the house, Tom Emmer quickly retreated and withdrew his bid. Former President Trump took to Truth Social and declared the congressman from Minnesota as “totally out-of-touch with Republican Voters” and a “Globalist RINO.” These comments came shortly after Tom Emmer tweeted that he “looked forward to continuing [his] strong working relationship” with Trump.

Business

Minnesota Named Tech Hub by President Biden: The Minneapolis Saint Paul Economic Development Partnership-led consortium, Minnesota MedTech Hub 3.0, has been designated as a federally-recognized Tech Hub. This designation enables them to apply for federal grants of up to $75 million with the goal of fostering economic growth, innovation, and job creation across the United States.
Twin Cities Retailers Face Staffing Challenges This Holiday Season: Rising payroll costs, added benefits, and increased competition for workers are prompting retailers to reassess their staffing levels and may lead to shorter store hours during the holiday shopping season.

2023.09.15 07:36 Difficult_Window3042 I hate Alina.

that is all yippee. but no seriously she is everything wrong with the game. Artix is a spoiled rich kid who has no actual idea how to run a company, sure, but she literally silences any criticism of the game she doesn't even play lmao. If I have to farm 18 days for VHL (not including parts a and b) but then she just has it in her inventory at character level 17 while talking about how this farm will be "challenging" it just pisses me off. I have a screenshot of her account not even three years ago at level 17 with Legion Revenant equipped. On one hand, understood she has the ability to manipulate code and generally preview everything related to AQW as a game, but on the other within 48 hours of me posting and @'ing her on twitter her account mysteriously was at level 100. Anyone who has played knows that 2 days of straight playing MIGHT be enough to get to level 100, but the only way for sure that would work is code manipulation or botting. And she was the loudest most pissant person about botting, so she must also be a hypocrite. TL:DR AQW and AE are dying and I wholly lay the blame at Alina's doorstep. If whiny rant things aren't allowed on this sub sorry I am new to reddit lol.

2023.09.09 17:14 ComfyCore What to do right after creating an account?

I'm coming back after almost 12 years away from the game. The steam trailer for AQW Infinity got me excited to try finishing 100% of the game.I do remember when I used to play as a kid, that there were some things like, if you buy membership the day you create your account you got some armor, also there were some codes that gave you cosmetics but only for the first month to 3 months of your account existing. I think there was also something like this with the physical store, i think with the card clasher class but not sure about this one.Is there any place where I can find exactly what to do in order to not lose out on these "limited time" items? (If they still exist in the game)
EDIT: My childhood account has been lost by Artix, the email that was used to create it has also been deleted long ago. Their customer support is not being that helpful sadly

2023.08.18 21:19 RefrigeratorKind1508 Want to join our guild? :)

Heyy! I’m not going to be making a post about this for a while because I don’t wanna be too annoying about it. Anyways, our guild (Cobra) and discord server is continuing to grow and we’d like to welcome even more people into our guild and server!
We’ve already held a competition where the winners of the aqw fashion show won a gift card code for ACs in game! We’d also like to start properly hosting film nights in the server and also continue to do things to kee our server a safe and welcoming place. We have individuals who are of all kinds of different levels in games and there’s always someone on to help out with anything in game! There’s also a self assign role in our server about ultras since I’ve saw a few posts about people wanting to fight ultras! So if there’s anything you need help with in game or within our server there will always be someone on to help ya out!!
Our guild and server is becoming a nice community as more and more people join! So I’d you’d like to join just send ya discord and we’ll get you right in!! :)
The only requirement to join our guild is to have discord. This is so we are able to communicate with everyone!!
Ps. We are also very welcoming of other interests, whether it’s other games, films and especially photos of cute pets

2023.08.08 07:02 Criss-19-96- Need someone's advice before I make a decision

I was a player of AQW back in 2011/12 but because I was still a kid back then, I don't have any money to buy merch in Heromart that would have in-game rewards like the figurines and the old calendars. Now that I am working and have money to buy some stuff, I am thinking of buying AQW codes to Nurse_AE. I would like to ask you guys about your opinion about this. Is Nurse_AE legit? Is there any other platform that you can buy codes to?

Problem with uploading code to arduino nano every
Hello, I have a 1 year old arduino nano every that was used for led cube, but now when i wanted to upload new code it doesn`t work. An error appears that says about not being able to find arduino board. I searched internet far and wide but nothing helped. Most of the articles I've tried to listen to :Nano not communicating with computer usb port not detecting from video Native serial port, can't obtain info the system cannot find the file specified Install or update FTDI drivers Drivers themselves
Error looks like this:
translation of error that is in polish for some reason: the specified file could not be found
Since last time i uploaded code to this arduino I changed my PC and installed new IDE, I still have old laptop and there was the same issue but insted of showing arduino on COM1 is didn`t pop up at all (Port in IDE was faded). On new PC it isn`t faded and showes COM1.

in device manager there is no arduino shown, but there is something on COM1
translation: Port (COM and LPT) Communication port (COM1)
When i unplug my arduino it still shows this, Communication port (COM1) doesn`t disappear.
also serial monitor doesn`t work:

I tried diffrent cables and different USB ports in my PC, nothing helped.During all of these screenshots my arduino was pluged in.I have no ide what happend and how to solve it.
edit1: I found this article https://forum.arduino.cc/t/nano-every-missing-drivers/598252/5 after installing drivers from this article error changed:

i chose porgrammer for UNO WiFi Rev2 and arduino magically appeard in my device manager on COM4

I`m really new to arduino so, Please don`t judge me.
edit3: I also found out that out of 4 cables i have in my house 3 don`t work with arduino so the problem of changing error might have been me using different cable every day. Either way now i will have dedicated cable for my arduino.
Thanks to gm310509 for helping me.

2023.05.04 06:09 nihilheim yet another aq3d rant

Hello, I am a kickstarter who has been playing on and off since, well, the kickstarter days. I can't lie and say I've seen the best state of the game, I can't compare any experience to that, but as someone who played consistently for around 2 years I think that does give me good enough ground to hold an opinion still. I just want to rant because the game is in an awful state compared to even just 2 years ago, not going just by player count but also going by general lack of care given by the devs on many things.

To start with, let's begin with releases. Of course releases are a great thing, how couldn't they be, they add a whole new part of the game no matter how big or small. However, has anyone else noticed how bugged big releases always are? Sometimes bugs will be reported constantly and will go unfixed. Sometimes bugs so big that they will crash the server will go unfixed for up to a week at a time, I remember at the beginning of 2021 there was a bug which caused red dragon to lagspike every 5 minutes which went unfixed for about... a month? Maybe two? "Just go play on another server!" is easy to say but the fact is that a company which puts care and polish into a game shouldn't have something like that happening period, at least not for the amount of time that it took them to fix it. When pvp initially released, which was the main thing I played in aq3d, it felt like the last time there was passion put into an area of the game. There were many releases for it. Yet still, the funniest part is on release there was a bug that was fixed on ptr. A huge one, bases would capture on their own without a player standing in one, at least that one was fixed fast, so fast in fact that you could've gone to sleep just a few hours before pvp released and missed the entire fiasco. However, the community has been extremely toxic about pvp getting updates, it made me extremely sad and disgusted to be part of such a self interested community. Whenever pve had an update, you never had a pvp player complain that there wasn't a pvp update until pvp no longer received meaningful updates. However, whenever pvp got or gets an update no matter how big or small you will have a sect of the community screaming at the top of their lungs about how aq3d is a pve game and there should only be pve updates. Sadly, that rang true at Artix Entertainment as pvp has become sorely neglected despite seemingly being the last thing that the devs actually put some passion into. Now we are stuck with half assed pve updates full of bugs and barely any pvp updates.

In general, with releases, you don't really notice anything huge. While this is okay for a time, eventually gameplay gets extremely stale. There are no promised updates such as housing coming, when Saryion started working on it AE shut him down after talks with him and refused to take his code after he offered it to them. He gave them basically a fully realized housing system to work off of and they refused, need you say much more? Guild related releases have also been promised for years yet we have never seen any form of guild update. No guild halls, no guild wars, no guild related quests, there is no reason to be in a guild other than for the social aspect which in itself is fine but having absolutely zero other benefit makes guilds feel more like large group chats than guilds. Classes also come extremely slowly, I get that there is art, class design and coding to go into a class, especially one that is unique, but class skins are an addition that AE could gladly go down the route of adding yet for some reason class skins are locked behind a paywall instead of adding an actually interesting way of getting them, players suggested many ways, to name a few: boss drops, high scores in certain new gamemodes, class rank 100/class glory level 50 (on each class), etc. There were many actually interesting ways to add class skins as a way of saying "Yes, I achieved this!" but instead AE chose the worst route imaginable which was just locking it behind $25. A class skin should've made someone go "Woah, that's so cool!" not "Woah, that guy's a whale!".

The pve experience in aq3d in the first place is extremely bland and repetitive. Some areas such as Heartwood will ask you to kill mobs for a quest which share a spawn with the other mobs which means your time on those quests are most spent on killing OTHER mobs just to get those ones to spawn. When making an alt I nearly quit at Heartwood solely because of this. Or let's talk about how mobs are getting tankier and only tankier with each extra level, they don't hit harder. This creates a tedious questing experience which doesn't have any danger, I have been playing a lot of vanilla WoW recently where levels felt rewarding and mobs felt like a challenge depending on the class you played. Actually, let's compare aq3d to some more mmos for a moment. The mob pathing. Have you ever noticed that hitting Warrior Sever, Ranger Empowered Shot or even just Samurai Nothing Personal is sometimes stupidly hard on moving mobs? Believe it or not, mobs are coded to TELEPORT from point A to point B especially in older zones. However, it doesn't look like it because they are just coded to give the illusion that they are running towards you. This is extremely flawed as it has forced ranged classes to sit in melee because you can't kite mobs in most scenarios. There has been no word on if or when this will ever be changed. "It works like that in AQW TOO!" isn't a good argument since AQW is a completely different game made using another engine, the mob pathfinding needs but will never get an update because the devs don't seem to care about polish in that regard.

Raid bosses are extremely easy now. I have done the sea god grind like many others and to say it was an easy time is an understatement. Highly tedious, not challenging. That's the issue with pve as a whole, it is tedious, not challenging. There is an artificial grind put in place by mobs having 2-3x your hp and it's so annoying. You could afk in the sea god challenge and could still live if you didn't afk on top of a tentacle, that isn't very befitting of a raid boss in my mind. I've never been in a group that's wiped on sea god despite doing a large amount of the grind. I say only a large amount because... what is honestly worth grinding and what for? What is the point in grinding to get best in slot? When you are done with your biyearly grind there is nothing else to do with your gear other than farm for cosmetics but even then those don't normally require you to be geared in the first place. There sits another issue with pve, there is no point in doing it. You'll do it for best in slot and then you effectively no longer have anything to do for another few months where you grind to do the same thing if you are a truly pve orientated player with no interest in cosmetics. What could be done you might be asking, well other games have plenty of ideas. Let's go back to WoW again for a second, it has a grindable dungeon mode called Mythic+. The idea behind that mode is that you will do a harder variant of the regular dungeon and at the end will earn keys to do even harder versions of it with better gear rewards and cosmetic rewards. For example, a mount from completing each Mythic+ dungeon on a +15 key during the season or a title for the top 0.1% of Mythic+ players which is determined based on their Mythic+ rating. There would be a place to use best in slot gear if something such as this was added, maybe the maximum AQ3D "Mythic+" gear would be as strong as the best raid gear also offering unique cosmetic rewards while requiring just as much grind to get which would create incentive to play one or the other for everyone. Of course in this scenario the raids would still drop their own unique cosmetic rewards giving a reason to do both modes. There is no reason to go back to dungeons once you are fully geared so a mode like this would give a reason to go back to some.

The pvp experience in aq3d is extremely, extremely poor for the average player. From players creating parties that just stomp newer players all day to class balance being super lackluster to the staleness of no new gamemodes or pvp skills being added to drama in the pvp community. The devs have shown that they no longer care about pvp which means things will likely not change here either. The reason for this is because, I kid you not, a poll on Twitter where players voted the most for pvp getting no updates in 2023 while pve only got updates. It's awful, pvp was already in a bad state but with no new updates or anything it will only continue to get more stale. There are spells like Fester which have been obscenely broken since release yet no matter how much noise the pvp community makes there is no change to it. In general pvp suffers from the opposite of pve's issue, pvp once upon a time lived or died on the fact that you could use one spell and one shot someone with no true counterplay other than praying you can prekite the buff on melee. That time has passed, that spell was removed when care was put into pvp yet it still took a lot of convincing to get it removed. However, the lovechild of Rogue and Berserker, Samurai, still has one shot capabilities with its ult, already Samurai is the #1 in pvp by an obscene amount despite pleas to nerf its power in pvp yet the community remains ignored. When it pops its ultimate, it is the only class in the game that can kill you in 2 seconds with 2 attacks which is just... bullshit? In general it's the only class capable of a 1v3 where most other classes struggle extremely hard to 1v2. Let's also talk about the hacking situation. A few months ago a YouTuber called Yogi made a video exposing how bad the hacking situation is in the AQ3D space. AE responded but they responded with lies and the community ate it. I hardly play now but the few times I have played AFTER the video was released I have always seen people toggling speedhacks in pvp so casually and commonly that I just decided the game is not worth playing anymore. There is no anticheat in AQ3D and there never will be. Some of the "best" pvp players are just hackers. Once you know how to spot them you will see how many of them are not legit and the worst part is it's an epidemic where more and more players are starting to do it. Someone very close to me once made an alt and got banned just for using sprint by an incompetent mod yet you have hackers who toggle and don't get banned, it's extremely confusing. There has also been a group of players who would mass report people they didn't like and just like WoW mass reporting can get you banned temporarily. Drama in the pvp community has happened and has ended with one side doing just that and have actually gotten people banned for it just by mass reporting. It's a disgusting practice.

The community in general has been toxic just in their own ways. Passive aggressiveness, outright toxicity. It's not just a pvp community thing either, I have seen it in pve where people will kick someone from a dungeon for being new or will trash talk their raid for being slightly slow at killing a boss. Elitism exists in aq too yet nobody seems to bring it up on the pve side because the community has deluded itself into thinking all the toxicity is in the pvp community. There is a lot of toxicity in the pvp community however there is a lot in the pve community too. For the pvp side let's take a guild called VIP for example. Just being in the guild you will have people trash talk you and shit on you even if you are a generally friendly or quiet person simply because the guild is owned by some of the most toxic people in the game. If someone is toxic under the name then it's fair game but for the most part I've seen generally passive players get thrown into one sided flame wars just for having the guild tag. In general AQ3D drama is just like a highschool drama show, it's unreal how petty and pathetic it can be.

Anyway that's some of my rant, there is a lot more to talk about but I have an itch to go back to WoW now xd
The game is in a really bad spot and the devs don't seem to care much. I really want to see the game be great but it feels like that will *NEVER* happen anymore. There are people with hope for the game and that's great but the cruel reality is the devs just don't seem to have passion anymore. If they did then the game wouldn't be in such a bad spot. The funniest thing Artix has ever said on Twitter is that 80% of HIS moves are failures (https://twitter.com/ArtixKriegestatus/1603825196519067648) where every single idea that goes through AQ3D is his idea. The workflow was leaked, "Adam's approval" was on there like 4 times. Most of the stuff added to AQ3D is not stuff we asked for. I hope he opens his mind more and starts paying attention to what the players want because believe it or not this game is all ride or die on what he wants, not what the players want. Once upon a time the motto was "For the community, by the community" or something bs, clearly it was a lie.

2023.04.17 17:37 svish Can this function with a conditional return type be written without errors, or is function overloads required here?

I tried to write the following function, and it works fine javascript-wise, and the type of a and b also seem to end up as I expect. But, the line with the return is not happy about it, and although the type of b seems to end up correctly as number, the type of a ends up as "string" 1 { readonly foo: 1; readonly bar: "string"; }.
const settings = { foo: 1, bar: 'string', } as const; type Settings = typeof settings; type Setting = keyof Settings; function getSettings( key?: K ): K extends Setting ? Settings[K] : Settings { return key == null ? settings : settings[key]; } const a = getSettings(); const b = getSettings('foo');
This is the error message I get on the return line:
Type '{ readonly foo: 1; readonly bar: "string"; }' is not assignable to type 'K extends "foo" "bar" ? { readonly foo: 1; readonly bar: "string"; }[K] : { readonly foo: 1; readonly bar: "string"; }'.
Is it possible to write this getSettings function in a way that does not give me an error for the return statement? Or is it only possible to write this function using function type overloads?
