2024.05.19 12:38 Lucky_Lunch1202 Annoying mother.

Idk if this belongs here, if there's a more suitable page, please let me know.
Basically, nothing I ever do is enough. I babysit my sister 3 days a week, from 8am to 8pm. She in herself is another whole issue, but that's due to my mother's coddling no doubt. During this time I need to get my sister ready for school, drop her off, pick her up, do a variety of chores, make dinner for everyone, and feed our outdoor pet.
I don't mind this, my mum works hard. But when I come home she complains about EVERYTHING. If my sister made a mess of something and I haven't noticed, if my sister touched the walls with greasy hands, if my shoes are in front of the door. Like nothing is good enough. She's constantly bitching about my sisters, which makes me anxious to do the same. When I'm around her I don't dare grab a coke, snack, or make pasta, because she's constantly dogging on them for this.
One of the worst parts is how she claims she's blunt but everything feels passive aggressive. She will address it to my little sister like "Oh what have I told you about doing this, where's your this, hope you haven't been on that TV all day, what did you eat, oh baby let me go get you another drink." Like I'm sorry your kid is a literal demon. Idk what happened after I left for university, but my sister was lovely and silly and she adored me, used to want to be me, and now she's horrifying. "If you don't do this I'll tell mum lies about you, if you don't then you'll ruin my childhood, I love mum and my other sisters more than you."
Besides nothing being good enough for my mother, I'm perfect. On social media I'm the best daughter, I'm so smart, and she's so proud and I'm so beautiful. She wonders why I have no self worth? Because I've never heard those things to my face. I hear her tell me I have a good figure, but never without hearing "you don't want to be like your sister, she's too skinny." Oh I have a nice face? Only because my sisters is so punchable.
She reminds me every day that she's a great mother, ill say well you can be a bit this or that, and she has an excuse for everything. Why you do it doesn't matter. If it hurts, it hurts. What's the point in parenting if the child doesn't find it effective.
I recently told her I think I might have something not quite right with me. A lot of people (mostly AuDHD) say they think I'm autistic or have adhd, and I've thought that for a long time. I have a lot off issues, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a mixture of many of them that just seems like autism or adhd. But basically my mother said its a trend right now and an excuse to be lazy. It was really giving "were all depressed, just stop being a lazy victim" vibes. She also told me I was too normal as a child, and refutes all the instances of me being strange. Like when I had a no talking phase, when I told all my friends I didn't like them because they were too hard to talk to, when I cried to my mum basically explaining alexithymia to her because I didn't feel the emotions I expressed, all my various sensory issues I still have to this day that she said we're typical kid behaviour. It's all only gotten worse from there. I feel completely not normal, like I can't explain it.
There's so much more, like so much more. A lot of things she would say never happened. Like how she let my abusive bf take drugs to a holiday and kind of peer pressuring me to do them (I got SAd while I was sleeping that night by him). She said the whole time she didn't like him but didn't tell me in case I got upset. Or that time when I was getting pressured by my bf at 13, and she thought something was going on and just told me if I'm going to do anything I should just ask her for condoms instead of being an idiot. Reading this back, holy shit. One time she was crying and I went to give her a hug and she shooed me away and told me to leave her alone, and then seconds later my sisters aunt did the same thing and she broke down to her even more and hugging her. I was her emotional support child btw, so obviously this crushed me as that felt like my only value to her.
But yeah there's so much idk how to even get into it all. So it probably doesn't seem so bad because this is probably typical parent behaviour. Also yes, she is a single mother and I'm grateful, but she has never said sorry to me. Never. It's always sorry you feel that way but you're dramatic, victimising yourself, lazy, you'll thank me later. Like no I won't. Later you'll be estranged. She also has it in my head that no man is good. She keeps warning me of my bf who yes is a pos sometimes, but better than a druggy rpist? I'd fricking say so, yeah. I tried to OD after breaking up with him, she doesn't even know because if I told her she'd say I'm stupid and selfish. She also gets annoyed when I unblock my bf (as I broke up with him) to work things out. We're in a hard place and I'm having complex emotions and she just wants me to block him and spend time with family, and study well. Like let me grieve, jeez. She also tells me him mother is a psycho jealous bitch and his dad is a pdo. Like excuse me? You met them once, and know nothing about them.
I'm just writing this because I woke up to her complaining about a single cup and some pans that were left out last night (since the dishwasher was on) and saying how it's unfair as she wakes up early and has to deal with it. Why didn't you deal with it by cleaning it if it bothered you? Instead you wait till people are awake to criticise it and make them feel bad. Like we always do the dishwasher, that's one of my babysitting chores. Just ask me to do it nicely when I wake up, why all the backhanded comments and sparky remarks? Just communicate, you're 45, get a grip. She feigns perfection constantly and paints us as a perfect family when one child has cptsd, one has anxiety, I got a shit tonne of issues, and my little sister is an absolute entitled brat who will cry and scream and threaten if not given her way. Literally my sister said she would tell lies about me because I told her to wipe her own ass because I had chores to do (she's 8) and she said my mother would do it and that's why she doesn't love me. I want out of this house, but my mum will fault me for not babysitting as it costs money, and I do it for free.
Ask any questions you'd like. I understand there's not much to go off of, I'm happy to elaborate as I really need to vent I can't lie.

2024.05.19 12:37 ladysmithgirl Caffeine because nothing else is working

Someone posted a good analogy: their thoughts are like constantly writing on post it notes and continuously adding post its without any order of importance.
That is my brain all day. I can't stop thinking or turn off the voice in my head. I don't have any energy because my mental energy expended depletes me before lunch , sometimes before that.
I tried two different stimulants. One had horrible side effects and the other gave me horrible anxiety/depression.
So, back to caffeine I guess? Maybe my ADHD is too minor to warrant a stimulant? Caffeine does work. It does at least restore my physical energy. It helps me tackle some of those post its. It doesn't stop me from adding new ones but helps me just add maybe 1 while completing another task.
I guess this post is just about feeling like I don't know what the end goal is with my ADHD. I can't quanitfy how much my symptoms are affecting my kids / spouse. They all say I am fine and the best mommy ever, but I still feel all of the self-doubt. I am worried that just doing caffeine isn't bringing me to my full potential and therefore affects my family.
Typing that out I see the anxiety coming through and how silly that sounds. That is definitely just a fear and not reality.
Thanks for reading ❤️

2024.05.19 12:36 auxiliary_otter (4-5 years) Portfolio critique? Any feedback appreciated

Hi all - at the risk of doxxing myself I'd really appreciate feedback on the PDF of work samples that I'm sending out to job applications (as first contact). As someone originally from the US but currently in Germany, I have 4-5 years exp. but since half was in pure design / arch-vis I'd consider myself still green.
https://issuu.com/incoherentottedocs/portfolio_anonymous
I'm applying primarily to positions where I can get back into DD and CD (the later project phases) thus my portfolio is more weighted towards planning, but I hope it's well-balanced. Page composition as follows:
3x planning projects from office (SD-CD); 1x arch-vis; 1x details in CD; 1x masters thesis
Critique on everything from layout to content is welcome. I know my portfolio is fairly weak if I'm applying to high-concept design firms, but any thoughts as to how I can leverage my fairly vanilla work experience? Which types of firms should I concentrate towards? Thanks in advance!

2024.05.19 12:35 Babar-Sohail The SEO Keyword Research Guide

Keyword research is the cornerstone of effective SEO, enabling businesses to understand what people are searching for and tailor their content to meet those needs. By identifying valuable keyword phrases and topics, businesses can attract relevant traffic to their websites. Keyword research involves finding keywords with sufficient search volume and low competition, striking a balance between popularity and feasibility. Crafting a comprehensive content strategy based on keyword research helps businesses target the right audience with the right content at the right time, driving consistent traffic and aligning with business goals.
Keyword research is like laying the foundation for a strong building. It's the first step in making sure your website is seen by the right people on the internet. Think of keywords as the words people type into search engines like Google when they're looking for something.
  1. Find Seed Keywords:
To start, think of some basic words or phrases related to your business. These are your seed keywords. For example, if you sell shoes, your seed keywords could be "running shoes" or "dress shoes".
  1. Create a Keyword List:
Once you have your seed keywords, use keyword research tools to find more words and phrases related to them. These tools will give you a bunch of suggestions based on what people are actually searching for.
  1. Prioritize Profitable Keywords:
Not all keywords are created equal. Some will bring in more customers than others. Look for keywords with high search volume and low competition. These are the ones that will help your business the most.
  1. Group Keywords:
Organize your keywords into groups based on topics or themes. This will help you create targeted content that matches what people are searching for.
  1. On-page Keyword Optimization:
Once you've chosen your keywords, it's time to put them to work. Make sure they appear naturally in your website's content, titles, and headings. This tells search engines that your site is relevant to those keywords.
  1. Track Keyword Rankings:
Keep an eye on how your chosen keywords are performing. Are they bringing in traffic? Are they helping your site rank higher in search results? Tracking your keyword rankings will help you make adjustments as needed.
  1. Keyword Research Tools & Resources:
There are plenty of tools out there to help with keyword research, like Google's Keyword Planner or SEMrush. These tools can give you valuable insights into what people are searching for and how competitive certain keywords are. Additionally, there are many guides and tutorials available online to help you master the art of keyword research.
By following these steps and using the right tools, you can unlock the power of keyword research and help your website reach its full potential on the internet.
If you want to master Keyword Research, please comment on this post and tell me, and I will share a step-by-step guide on keyword research. In this guide, I will share the best methods and tools for conducting keyword research.

2024.05.19 12:32 rotteck Best way to add slight delay for a bunch of hatches opening/closing?

What would be the best way to add a subtle delay (let's say 0.0 to 0.5 seconds) from pressing a button to a large number of hatch opening and closing?
I am currently implementing the opening/closing of gunports on a ship. When you press the assigned button, all of the gunports should open/close. This is how the code looks right now, and it works, however right now all hatches open and close at the exact same time.
On beginPlay Each hatch gets assigned an opened and closed rotation via a map of sceneComponent to struct (the struct having openedRotation and closedRotation). then i'm setting the relative rotation with an Rinterp (currently in tick, i know that's not ideal, for testing as of now)
I tried rewriting the whole thing to use a timeline instead, but apparently the timeline isn't compatible with the foreach loop (only one hatch opened). i tried adding a timeline component into the struct, to then dynamically (at beginplay) create a timeline with a certain curve to each hatch (which might be a bit overkill if you get to ships with 100+ hatches, but the idea was to then let each timeline start playing forward from the point 0.0 to -0.5 and implement a delay that way). that didn't seem to work because i found no way to access the value which a dynamically created timeline has at a certain point in time.
So now i'm asking: What would be the best way to make all hatches open/close with randomized delay? Does anyone know a smart way to use timelines with this problem? In theory they seem to make the problem much simpler, but i just can't get it to work.

2024.05.19 12:30 montana404 Could anyone help me improve my writing for this AIC question?

Question:
Priestley shows how inequality in society leads to tragedy.’ How far do you agree with this view of An Inspector Calls?
Write about:
• what happens in the play
• how Priestley presents what happens in the play
"Priestley emphasises the idea of how tragedy is followed by inequality through constructing the characters of the Birlings. They are introduced to the audience as having a dinner in “pink” and “intimate” lighting, as they celebrate the financially motivated marriage of Gerald and Sheila. The metaphor “pink” symbolises the comfort and bliss they are in, as they guard themselves behind a false sense of security and privilege. Priestley displays class inequality and division with the privileged Birlings as they blind themselves from the suffering of the world and continue to celebrate a marriage that will fund their corrupt ideology of capitalism further. Priestley uses this inequality to depict the cause of tragedy as this lighting or shield of privilege is then metaphorically destroyed by the Inspector, the socialist mouthpiece and proxy of Priestley himself. This is significant as the Inspector is the one to reveal the tragedy of Eva Smith, who had “burnt her insides out” with a “disinfectant”. The violent imagery used in “burnt her insides out” may serve as a shock factor to the audience as it creates an unnerving atmosphere at the beginning of the play. This is a stark contrast to the “pink” and “intimate” lighting, which provides evidence for the idea that inequality and luxuries that act as a barrier against the reality of the world, leads to tragedy as the Inspector reveals the tragic, horror story of Eva Smith. By placing this all at the beginning, Priestley’s intentions may have been to allow the audience to continue watching the play with the idea planted in their head that whilst the upper class continue to feed into class inequality, the poor and suffering continue to go through pain and poverty. The contemporary audience may have felt responsible for this as a result and strive for social change. This reflects the reality of the post-war era, a time where social reconstruction was a serious challenge and goal for society. Therefore, Priestley presents class division as a form of inequality that results in the tragedies and hardships of labourers and the working class."

2 Ways to Connect Bluetooth Speakers & Headphones to Apple TV? With Troubleshooting Tips
NOTE: If you’re looking for a more detailed step-by-step guide complete with demo images for each solution, just check out the hyperlink under the solution's name.
After a lot of real tests with my LG soundbar, AirPods, and Apple TV 4K, I’ve found out how to connect Bluetooth speakers and headphones to an Apple TV.
Here’s a quick rundown of the methods and troubleshooting tips that actually work.
Full article here: https://pointerclicker.com/connect-apple-tv-to-bluetooth-speakers/

How to Know If Your Apple TV Supports Bluetooth?

First, ensure your Apple TV supports Bluetooth. The HD and 4K models do, but older versions like the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gen don’t.
For more information about which Bluetooth feature your Apple TV supports, head to the hyperlink in the heading above.
You can check by going to Settings > General > About and looking up your model number.

How to Connect Bluetooth Speakers/Headphones to Apple TV

1. Direct Bluetooth Connection:
  • Prepare Your Devices: Turn on your Bluetooth speakeheadphones and set them to pairing mode. Ensure they're within range (max 200 feet for Bluetooth 4.0).
  • Pair Both Devices: On your Apple TV, select your device from the Bluetooth list.
2. Connect via Smart TV:
If your Apple TV doesn’t support Bluetooth, you can connect your Bluetooth device directly to your smart TV.
Most modern smart TVs like LG, Sony, and Samsung support Bluetooth.
Check the detailed guide for LG, Samsung, and Sony TVs in the hyperlink of the heading.

Troubleshooting Tips

1. Soft Reset:
  • Turn off both devices and unplug them for 30 seconds, then plug them back in and power them on.
2. Update Firmware:
  • Go to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software.
3. Factory Reset (as a last resort):
  • Settings > Systems > Reset > Reset and Update.
Apple TV Can’t Find Your Bluetooth SpeakeHeadphone:
  • Ensure the device is charged and in pairing mode.
  • Test the device with your smartphone to check for faults.
Apple TV Has Found Your Bluetooth SpeakeHeadphone But Can’t Connect:
  • Disconnect other Bluetooth devices from your Apple TV.
  • Ensure the speakeheadphones aren’t connected to other devices.
Connecting a Bluetooth speaker or headphones to your Apple TV can significantly enhance your audio experience.
Whether using direct Bluetooth connections or via your smart TV, these steps should help you set it up.
If issues persist, refer to the troubleshooting tips or consult customer support.

2024.05.19 12:28 fromcochin Secondary for my DCB LTF.

Hi everyone, I have been a silent reader of this reddit channel for multiple years and never really created an account until now. I appreciate most of the fellow redditors here and mods for questioning, posting and managing diverse portfolios of credit cards. Personally, I own 3 cards (Magnus (paid) - 3.3L, DCB LTF - 8L and IDFC First wealth - 7L). Due to the recent devaluation of Magnus, I discontinued the Magnus and now my primary is the DCB LTF. Save to say this card has provided me 10%+ in reward rate month-on-month.
Fundamentally, I travel a lot and most of my spends are in Swiggy/Zomato/Ola/Uber and Smart buy flight and hotel bookings. I also travel internationally once in a while and thats when generally the magnus (since it's VISA and low acceptance of DCB in weird countries to go to) and IDFC's cash withdrawal (45day interest free period) help me. Apart from this my main reason for the IDFC is the RSA assistance (I have used this 3 times in the last 2 months to get my car running - lmao. I should get it fixed now)
TLDR: I require a secondary card (VISA infinite?) to help in situations when my DCB doesn't work (this is pretty rare since i live in a tier 1 city) and preferably when I travel aboard as my primary card (again if DCB isn't accepted - most cases it ain't). I also was thinking if this card can get me BOGO on BMS (trust me magnus was the legit deal here and I was paying for this - but it's devalued and I do not feel like continuing to pay for the card is worth it as my daily driver is the DCB which is LTF).
PS: I can get the ICICI sapphiro alumni LTF (Same way i got my DCB). But I realised they provide the mastercard and Amex variants (both of them do not get enough support in Europe and Middle East and Eastern Asia). Looking for a VISA card that matches the powers of the Magnus card.

2024.05.19 12:26 Fabulous-Substance12 How do I build my verbal section for 2nd attempt (gregmat verbal)

Last year, I prepared for the GRE and scored 303 (Q 162, V 141). This time, I am targeting a score of 325, aiming to surpass 320. I understand that I need to dedicate significant time to improving my verbal section, focusing on vocabulary learning, solving more questions, and refining my overall approach.
During my previous preparation, which spanned approximately two months, I followed strategies suggested by Greg, including his four-block method and mathematical ideas. Although I attempted to learn as many vocabulary words as possible from Greg's Vocab Mountain and solved at least 10-15 papers from the Big Book, I felt a mix of understanding and confusion. Despite my efforts, my performance in the verbal section did not meet my expectations. I am seeking advice on a more effective approach to mastering the verbal section this time around. I plan to revisit Greg's materials, especially for verbal concepts.
For the quant section, I believe tackling more challenging problems is necessary. I would appreciate recommendations for additional resources beyond the 5lb book, which I have already completed. My goal is to practice random questions and improve my problem-solving speed.
Is it realistic to improve my score from 303 to around 320 within four months? I will start my preparation today, May 19, 2024, and aim to take the GRE at the end of September. While I am working full-time in a hybrid mode, I plan to use my commute for vocabulary revision. So if you have any approach please do let me know I appreciate all the suggestions that come my way!!

2024.05.19 12:22 RubberKut 20240519: Omg.. i can feel it.. i am slipping again.. Perhaps i am just tired and need to catch some sleep.

Dear diary, missed me? hehe..
Back home again.. and i lied yesterday.. It wasn't that no one knew that i came back.. the cat sitters.. they had to know when i was back again.. Yesterday i had a little visit from one the cat sitters (2 people, it's a couple)
It was nice.. But i do feel, that i can't be 100% me.. the interest is not there.. like i shared before.. i need to share.. It's all feelings and thoughts and.. how it left an impression on me. And they can hear it for 30 minutes or so, before the interests fades away.. It becomes harder for me to share when i feel that i don't have their attention and i only feel more lonely then.. But they are my good friends and i just have a lot to share.. It's too much... (that's why i write and i am being vague here on purpose, not sharing everything, it's still the internet..) Plus i can't... i have 5+ weeks of experience in me.. Every thought is like cross-chatter and i can't express myself very well then. Perhaps i am just tired now, hence the cross-chatter.
I want to share on the moment (like what i am doing now), for example in chat groups, but then nobody responds.. I am literally talking to myself and now it's faded, it became a memory and i don't have the words anymore, i can't share the wonders and awe i experienced then.. I made a lot of photos, most of them are 'shit' though, out of focus, bad composition and etc... so it's boring to watch.. i need to filter and edit many of them..
Anyway.. But i am feeling it. My energy is already fading. I don't know what to do.. well i do know.. i need to clean my house, lets start with that, it's full with cat hair, dust and it's a mess.. It's a lot of work, so i'll be focussing on that for now, but then i distract myself by being here, hehe, but i am so tired, to be fair, i haven't slept very well in the last 5 weeks. Did i even sleep 2 days ago? I was on a airplane, not much sleeping then.. Crying kids, it was a kids fest on the airplane, but thank god for my noise cancelling earphones, that was a good investment. The fact that i am crashing now is understandable, but i don't want to sit still.. and what am i doing now? Sitting still..) Being in my house.. like i used to do before.. It just feels wrong.. i don't wanna be here, but where do i want to be? I dont know...
What do normal people do on days like today? It's sunny, it's sunday.. Visit friends? During the holiday i had no problems.. I was alone, I just go and do my thing, there is so much to do and see, so much to experience, here i feel lost.. Directionless, i don't know what to do.
Crap..
Well.. i think i'm gonna clean a bit and go to bed soon, i need to catch up (it's not even afternoon and i am already falling asleep..)
But my cats.. they did miss me.. even when the 2 cat sitters came, she also mentioned that.. We were sitting on the couch and both cats were sitting with me.. both being in a deep sleep.. they do remember me and they do enjoy my company and they feel safe with me.. That's a nice feeling.. What would i do without the love of animals? They are my friends, my little buddies.
Also.. i'm gonna share it here, and not in the other sub, but i am done, with the INFP-sub. It was a good sub for me, for a while. I learned a lot about myself. But in my opinion it has really downgraded to BS. What a bunch of idiots (a lot of them, not everybody) So many lost people and i cant talk to them.. i try sometimes.. but to no avail.. They are stuck in their little loop, and they ain't listening and it sucks me in and i can't get them out.. Why do i wanna help? It's so draining sometimes.
Also i am here so connected with the internet world.. I just saw a news item, which brought me down as well.. i want to share, but its negative of course and somebody told me this is not the place to share these things.. so where can i share it? It has been said before, this place is a little sanctuary, also for me.. but if i can't share my own shit.. what kind of sanctuary is it for me? It's like.. why cant i share my shit? I know it's dark and it's hard.. I am alone again, in my own house, amongst friends... aint that funny?
How am i supposed to heal myself, if i see that the world needs healing.. But it's... it's governments i am talking about, it's the social structure, how.. how am i supposed to deal with that? Just accept it? I am not a conformist.. Or even a peaceful guy, i need action, change needs to happen, within me and the outside world. I don't wanna put blinders on, pretend it doesn't exist or it doesn't happen. Look at how many of us are troubled souls.. we need.. action, we need to change so many things about ourselves.
Observe but don't absorb, is a sentence i shared not so long with one of you.. and what am i doing? I am absorbing.. I gotta live to my own advice that i am giving away..
Crap... hehehe :) Well, at least i can still laugh about my own bullshit. Thx for listening. I am working on it.. and i am lost.. Not sure what to do and where to go..
The more i think about it, the more i feel i should do it.. Move out of the country, be in a place that i love and enjoy. In nature, in the mountains, in the sea with the fishies, with a culture i love and enjoy.. This culture here is... to shallow for my taste. It's about money and acting cool (not my friends, just.. this country in general) Being at parties and being seen as if you are cool.. It's empty and drug-fueled. (alcohol fueled, that's how a lot of people stay happy, by drinking and laughing)
They ignore problems, they ignore self-therapy and meditation.. (oeoe.. i need to meditate.. you know what.. after my post i will meditate for 30 minutes, lets do that.. lets be silent and be in the now) This country i live in.. it's a good country, better than many other countries.. wealthy, a caring government, we have health care and things like that.
But the people.. i mean, they are good people, but i am an outsider.. Not much family here, my friends have families, there is no time for me, they have their own lifes.. and i must find my own life too.
Lets meditate! Are you joining? Meditate everyday for 30 minutes (that's my minimum, Alan Watts said 40, but that's pushing it, lol.. hehehehe, if i can keep this up. I will meditate daily for an hour, that's my goal. )
I like to put rainforest sounds while meditating, but you have to be picky which background sounds you put on, some ambient sounds start to repeat itself and that becomes annoying, it distracts me from the meditation., because i can hear the loop, hehehe. 😅
Anyway thx again.

2024.05.19 12:20 Impossible_Tailor_95 Looking for a red dot for Canik-55 TP9

As the title says I am looking to put a red dot sight onto my gun. It is my first 9mm I got YEARS ago. Still one of the best I have (lol I know simple but it just works). The issue is the 3 shops I brought it into say they have no clue about one. The issue that I am running into is trying to find something online that will fit for a fact. I have a ORIGINAL TP9. Not the SA,SF,DA, ect. No it is the first TP9 that they sold. No fancy trigger, no fancy mounting system. The original......... Could someone point in the direction of what I am looking for. My goal it to get it for my son. He just turned 17 and wants to shoot with dad. I also have a SFX that I got a red dot for and love it. He like my first TP9 so the hopes is to get a red dot on it (he wants to be just like dad). Please this has been a pain in the behind.

🔗Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket - Black

https://preview.redd.it/79aq073vzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88dc636ef07e48879b53811e61808dd2d2626db8
Recently, I purchased the Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket, and I'm quite satisfied with its performance. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, it's important for me to have a jacket that's not only durable but also well-insulated and wind-resistant. This active jacket did not disappoint.
The first thing that caught my attention when I received the jacket was the 3M Thinsulate insulation, which provides excellent warmth without feeling too bulky. I'm particularly fond of the hood design, featuring a drawcord and reflective Carhartt patch. The hood not only keeps me protected from rain and snow but also ensures visibility during nighttime activities.
However, one area where the jacket could be improved is its zipper quality. While the plastic zipper works fine, I'm more accustomed to metal zippers, which are generally more reliable and durable. In addition, the jacket can be somewhat noisy when walking due to the swishy fabric sound - not ideal for hunting purposes.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I believe the Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a reliable and well-insulated winter coat. Its attractive design, variety of pockets, and comfortable fit make it a versatile option for both recreational activities and daily life. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and believe many others will be too.

🔗Carhartt Washed Duck Insulated Coverall: Tough, Warm, and Versatile Workwear

These Carhartt Washed Duck Insulated Coveralls provided a comfortable and practical solution for my work needs. The quilted nylon lining and midweight polyester insulation kept me warm on chilly days without causing me to overheat.
The heavyweight cotton duck fabric was durable and had a broken-in feel, well-suited for outdoor construction tasks. The ankle-to-waist zippers and full front zipper made it easy to put on and take off, while the nine pockets and reinforced kick panels offered ample storage and protection.
The ribbed storm cuffs, comfortflex waistband, bi-swing back, and pleated elbows ensured a comfortable fit and easy movement. Although it was a bit difficult to get to the pants' pockets without reaching through, overall, I found these coveralls to be of great quality, durability, and warmth.

🔗Carhartt Flame-Resistant Twill Coveralls with Comfort Flex Waistband - Belt Loops

https://preview.redd.it/3hh0d7vvzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ea1213388ced50fce1453b82347c288f6fcb618
As someone who's tried these Carhartt Flame-Resistant Loose Fit Twill coveralls out in the field, I must say, they truly shine when it comes to safety and comfort. These coveralls, equipped with flame-resistant twill, offer the perfect balance of style and function for those working with arcs and flames.
One of the standout features is the two-way zip front, featuring a storm flap and high-temperature resistant FR zipper tape. It effortlessly opens up to reveal a comfortable loose fit, accentuated by a stretchy comfort flex waistband. The adjustable waistband not only ensures a snug fit but also allows for ease of movement with the back yoke featuring pleats.
The added element of safety is taken into consideration with the chest pockets, which are both secure and convenient. They come with flaps and a hook & loop closure that keeps valuable items safe without compromising on accessibility. And don't forget about the UL classification to NFPA 2112 – it's a testament to the coveralls' commitment to keeping its wearers safe from potential hazards.
While there are a few minor issues, such as the occasional need for adjusting sizes based on inseam lengths, overall, these Carhartt coveralls have been a reliable addition to my work wardrobe. From their practical design to their emphasis on safety, they have proven to be a worthy investment in the long run.

🔗Superior Insulated Coveralls for Extreme Weather

As a reviewer who recently tried the Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Coveralls, I was impressed by the level of warmth they provide. Working in chilly conditions, I found the 3M Thinsulate insulation to be a game-changer, keeping me toasty even on the coldest days. The wind resistance and waterproofing also proved effective, as I dealt with harsh gusts and rain.
However, one downside was the fit; I had to size up to get the extra room I needed for layering underneath. Despite this minor inconvenience, I would recommend this coverall to anyone working in extreme cold conditions and seeking reliable protection.

🔗Carhartt Men's Yukon Insulated Biberall: Thinsulate Insulation and Reflective Tape for Cold Weather Comfort

https://preview.redd.it/bg24fhjwzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5f3862f20f801711829627fac09084d35729c7f
Windy days used to mean a chilly workplace, but now, thanks to the Carhartt Yukon Extremes, I'm snug and cozy even when the wind is howling. The Thinsulate insulation was a game-changer. One day, I was working in the freezing cold, and I was amazed that I didn't feel the chill. The water-repellent construction has also been my savior. One day, I accidentally splash some water during my work, and to my delight, my bib didn't soak it up. My visibility was also boosted by the reflective taping, making my outdoor activities a lot safer.
The Wind Fighter technology did an excellent job keeping the wind at bay, even in the harshest conditions. However, I felt that the Rain Defender wasn't living up to its name. On one occasion, I encountered some heavy rain, and to my disappointment, some water seeped in through the bib. I appreciate the adjustable elastic suspenders for their convenience, but I noticed they weren't as sturdy as I would have liked.
Overall, the Carhartt Yukon Extremes bib is a reliable choice for those who need a combination of warmth and protection. Despite the minor drawbacks, it has been my go-to for outdoor tasks on chilly days.

🔗Carhartt Women's Yukon Insulated Coverall: Ultimate Cold Weather Protection

https://preview.redd.it/awe5dvwwzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5540659e89bc3eed1b4cd7be75c87775ec58033f
As a cold weather enthusiast, I've tried the Carhartt Yukon Extreme Coveralls and let me tell you, they are an absolute game-changer in the winter season! The first thing I noticed was their sleek design, perfect for those who need a practical yet stylish outfit to face the cold. The zipper closure was a breeze to use, and the 6.5-ounce, 500-denier Cordura nylon shell offered a robust protection from harsh weather conditions.
One of the features that truly stood out to me was the 150g 3M Thinsulate insulation, ensuring that I could confidently venture into the heart of winter without shivering. The 3M Scotchlite Carbon Black reflective taping on the center back and double front also provided extra safety when I was out in low-light conditions.
The Wind Fighter technology and Rain Defender durable water repellent (DWR) gave me the peace of mind that I could withstand some light rain without feeling soaked. The triple-stitched main seams, center front zipper, and rib-knit storm cuffs provided all the reinforcements needed to shield me from the wind.
However, there were a couple of cons that I couldn't overlook. Firstly, the coveralls were a bit restrictive in terms of movement, making it difficult to perform certain tasks. Secondly, the sizing seemed a bit off, and finding the perfect fit was quite the challenge.
Overall, the Carhartt Yukon Insulated Coverall is a fantastic option for anyone looking for protection from the chilliest weather. It may not be perfect, but it undeniably gets the job done and makes me feel like a winter warrior out on the field.

🔗Workrite Coveralls - Lightweight, Breathable, and Flame Resistant

https://preview.redd.it/gy1cfdaxzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=948280e288f730c9a77e1ec51a580f378bc78177
I recently had the opportunity to wear the Carhartt Men's Flame Resistant Force Loose Fit Lightweight Coverall on a typical workday. Firstly, its distinctive Breathable honeycomb weave fabric stood out, offering me great all-day comfort. This lightweight coverall also passed crucial performance requirements and was classified to NFPA 2112, showcasing its effectiveness at protecting wearers against hazards.
The Force technology was particularly impressive, as it efficiently wicked away sweat and helped the garment dry fast, preventing any unpleasant odors from sticking around. Moreover, this coverall kept me cool throughout the day thanks to the FastDry technology, which I found extremely convenient.
In terms of construction, this coverall was built with an anti-static, colorfast fabric that was wrinkle-resistant and conveniently featured a two-way front zipper with a secure storm flap. It also had two secure chest pockets perfect for storing small essentials.
The comfort flex waistband provided increased comfort, and the back yoke with pleats ensured ease of movement. This versatile workwear also boasted multiple utility pockets for added storage, an adjustable sleeve cuff with snap closure, and ankle-to-knee leg openings that fit nicely over boots.
However, after a long day in the Carhartt Coverall, I realized it wasn't as convenient as I hoped when it came to ledge pockets. Accessing the lower-front ledge pockets was slightly challenging with a side-entry pass-through. Nonetheless, I appreciated the attention to detail through the addition of NFPA 2112 and FR labels on the left-chest pocket.
In conclusion, the Carhartt Men's Flame Resistant Force Loose Fit Lightweight Coverall proved to be a reliable garment in providing essential protection and functionality at work. Despite the slight drawback with the ledge pockets, overall it's a practical and comfortable choice for those looking for top-notch flame-resistant workwear.

🔗Flame Resistant Carhartt Coveralls for Comfort and Protection

https://preview.redd.it/l6imufrxzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2a17d084d9f1bdac724232778c9aa2c80277ccb
I've been using these Carhartt flame resistant coveralls for quite some time, and I must say, they've proven to be incredibly durable and comfortable. One of my favorite features is their 100% cotton material, which makes them perfect for a variety of outdoor tasks. However, I've noticed that they can be a bit warm during the summer months.
Despite this little inconvenience, the coveralls' overall quality is top-notch. The spread collar and multiple pockets have made it convenient for me to carry my tools while on the go. The zipper closure ensures a secure fit, while the machine wash feature makes cleaning a breeze.
What truly sets these coveralls apart is their Carhartt FR label, which guarantees compliance with NFPA 70 E standards and UL Classification to NFPA 2112. This additional layer of safety is something I appreciate when working on high-risk projects.
In all honesty, I'm really happy with my experience using these Carhartt coveralls, and I'm confident they'll continue to serve me well in the future. If you're in the market for a high-quality, comfortable, and functional piece of workwear, I would definitely recommend giving these a try.

2024.05.19 12:18 Jekkutin Did I do some damage?

Hi everyone. I bought my first MX-5 (Miata) after almost ten years of contemplating. It's a European 1997 NA 1.6l (90hp) with 144.000km on the clock. Two owner vehicle and been with the second owner since 2007 and always garage kept/summer only car. All-in-all it's in really good condition.
I went the "smart" route I guess you could say being I bought all new hoses, radiator, WP, thermostat, gaskets, timing belt kit, brakes, coilovers, ALL the fluids and that kind of things. I'm getting it baselined this year and leaving all the upgrade parts to the future.
After succesfully doing all the maintenance last week I started suspecting that the previous owneshop had the timing marks off by one tooth on the intake side. Because of this I wanted to make sure the timing is set right.
I let the car come up to temp (12:30 on the temp gauge, always stayed there while driving) and then jumped the diagnostic port to set the idle. When I inserted the paper clip the idle dropped significantly, it almost stalled. I adjusted the idle up to about 850-950rpm. Everything was temp wise good at that point. I then started to hook the timing gun up and read some final tips/instructions about it. I couldn't get it setup properly so after about 3-10min (honestly don't know how long exactly) I thought I'd shut the car down and do some more reading. I went to shut down the car and I noticed the temp gauge was between the half way and H mark!
I immediately shut the car down and let it cool down. Valve coveradiator was very hot to the touch. Did I do some damage here? I'm devastated if I did some major damage...
After that I've gotten a sense that my thermoswitch (on the thermostat housing) must be bad, because the fans never kicked in! Like I said the car never overheated while driving, even after all the maintenance I did. I tried the diagnostic jump to see if the fan works -> it does. I also grounded the thermoswitch coupler to the valve cover -> fan starts spinning.
It must be the thermoswitch not activating the cooling fan?
FYI: all the parts used were genuine Mazda or I.L Motorsport branded so I would say good quality. All the bolts were torqued down to spec. Everything feels GREAT except that overheat problem when idling for long time standing still.
Thanks for all the help and sorry for the long message.

2024.05.19 12:17 Juicy_Tripy Smart & Reusable Text + Box

Created in canva
Hello dear community, I composed in Canva what I would like to create in Resolve for my card game videos: the frame at the bottom of my screenshot. I want to display the information of the new card being played in my video, which have variable length of text. I have watched several videos on text effects and editing but I'm still not sure how to approach this task: create a "smart text box"
I have tried splitting the job in 2, by downloading and use the plugin "BetterSrames" from a youtuber and then added a "Text+" element on top of it. But very soon it was a nightmare of text alignment and size. I couldn't make it look like my canva, and working with spaces between words to reach the visual aspect seems wrong. I can't see myself redo it for every card played in my video. So I'm reaching out for advices.
Do you know of a plugin which could do that? Or is it possible to create a smart template in fusion to do this? I would be very grateful on tips / strategy on how to approach this. Best

2024.05.19 12:16 Neusaap128 Sin calculation too expensive?

Hello
I'm using an STM32F722 to do some DSP on audio signals. I'm using a WM8960 codec as an ACD DAC, and they communicate with an I2S bus. I've enabled DMA to transfer I²S samples from and too the memory to the peripheral. This is all working correctly.
When I try to calculate a sin value in the for loop, (even when not using this value) only half the DMA buffer gets filled. I used a saleae, logic 2 to analyse this. The I²S is transmitting proper data, then 0's. I've set the DMA BUFFER_SIZE to 128. Around 64 samples are proper, then another 64 are 0.
if(dataReadyFlag){ int j = 0; float freq = 220; for(uint8_t i = 0; i < BUFFER_SIZE/2; i++){ // Process left channel if(i % 2 == 0){ float sinValue = 1000*sin(2*M_PI*freq/sampleFrequency*j); *(outputBufPtr+i) =(inputBufPtr+i); j++; }else{ *(outputBufPtr+i) = (int16_t)(0); } } dataReadyFlag = 0;
If I remove the sin calculation everything works fine. The buffer is getting completely filled in. Could the sin calculation be too expensive for the STM32F722 to keep up with?
Thanks in advance
