my partner and I (27 M + F) have started broaching the topic of moving in together.
i own a 2 bed/2 bath condo in vancouver and live with a roommate who is planning to move in september. i have a 1.8% fixed interest rate locked until Jan 2026 and around $280k left on my mortgage ($1200 mortgage payment/month plus $400 in strata fees). my partner rents a 2 bed/2 bath apartment 15 minutes from me with a roommate, their combined rent is around $3,800/month.
we are at a bit of a stalemate in terms of who should be moving in with who. i’m curious what the most fiscally responsible choice is, and admit my emotional attachment to the condo is muddying any rational decision making.
i would like for my boyfriend to move in come september. my current roommate contributes around $750 a month in rent (way below market value in our city) and i would expect my partner to contribute a similar amount. my boyfriend believes i should move into his shared apartment with his roommate, contribute 1/3 of their rent, and rent out my condo for $3k a month to drive down the principal before i remortgage (i think payments are likely to increase by $500-600 monthly by jan 2026 given current interest rates, still a manageable increase for me).
other reasons he is hesitant to move in with me: he would have to sell his car as it does not fit in my underground parkade. street parking is free and readily available, but not as secure for him. he also currently lives a 1 minute walk away from his very high stress job; if he moved in with me this would translate to a 25 minute walk or a 5 min drive + downtown parking costs. (i do not own a car and can walk to work with ease from both of our places).
do either of these living arrangements make sense for us? should i put a pause on moving in together for now and look for an entirely new person to replace my current roommate? my boyfriend and i have plans to leave vancouver in around 2 years to trial living elsewhere in canada/abroad once we finish up some professional qualifications, so i would eventually need to secure renters. for whatever reason i still feel highly stressed thinking about strangers living in my house while I still reside in the city and don’t want to contribute to the greedy landlord epidemic. thoughts?

Embracing Netanyahu does not constitute a foreign policy
It is extremely difficult to discern what might be the thinking behind the clueless President Joe Biden and his Blinken-Austin-Mayorkas foreign-policy-plus national security team. But look at what is on the Biden record: the country’s southern border with Mexico is a porous as a Swiss cheese, allowing literally millions of illegal immigrants into the USA since Biden took office; Washington is both de facto and de jure simultaneously fighting and losing two unnecessary wars involving nuclear powers which has cost a nearly bankrupt Treasury well into the hundreds of billions of dollars; and the White House is needlessly sanctioning non-hostile competitors like China while also making illegal popular social media sites like TikTok which have committed the sin of reporting and disseminating accurate narratives about good old “best friend and closest ally” Israel. Predictably, neither of the assertions about the value of the Jewish state is true, nor is it a democracy, but who cares when you’re having fun shooting people and spending someone else’s money?
Oh, and just try to exercise your first amendment free speech rights by demonstrating against Israel’s slaughter of upwards of 40,000 Palestinian civilians using US provided weapons and you will be hit on the head by a cop, possibly arrested, and even expelled from college! If you want to see where this is all going, check out reports of the recent FBI detention and interrogation of distinguished Israeli historian Ilan Pappe seeking to enter the US through the Detroit International Airport. Pappe is a critic of the Netanyahu government and of US policy so he was held, questioned in detailed about his contacts, and had his phone copied before being allowed to proceed. Meanwhile, a group of top federal judges have signed a letter stating that they will strike back against the demonstrating students by refusing to hire any graduates of Columbia University Law School as law clerks. And there even is a bill currently before Congress that would empower the government to label the foreign protesters “antisemites and terrorism supporters” and deport them, with some going to Gaza with the expectation that they would be killed, possibly by the mighty Israel Defense Forces (IDF)! It would be a startling new development to punish those whose crime consists mostly of trespass even given the rather loose ethical boundaries established by the war on terror and the Antisemitism Awareness Act! Or indeed one might follow the Senatorial route led by a chirping Lindsey Graham who recommends dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza to kill everyone who has survived the Israeli onslaught. The area then might be developed after the radiation dies down for those splendid seaside villas for Jews only suggested by the esteemed Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.

As Bill Astore put it “Last week, President Biden appeared to have strapped on a temporary spine in delaying shipments of ‘offensive’ weaponry to Israel for its murderous invasion of Rafah in Gaza. That spine had a short duration as Biden announced [Tuesday] renewed shipments of tank and mortar rounds to Israel.” Congress has also gotten into the game with the GOP controlled House of Representatives having passed a bill that would compel the White House to continue all arms shipments to Israel. Joe might also be thinking of political contributions, as American Jews donate the majority of Democratic Party funding, as well guaranteeing a friendly media in his campaign as they dominate both the news and the entertainment industries. Israel will still “security” control what is allowed to enter into Gaza proper while Netanyahu is seeing the pier as a bridge to nowhere, usable primarily to export excess Palestinians to foreign lands that are either willing or unwilling to accept them. And its existence creates some interesting possibilities. As it presumably will be logistically supported on the pier itself by US-based personnel, Netanyahu might well be tempted to stage a false flag attack blamed on Hamas to kill a few Americans and lock Biden into Israel’s right-wing Gaza policies from now on. Bear in mind that, in reality, Biden could care less if all the Palestinians might be “disappeared” just as he would like to see any and all critics of Israel be subjected to the harshest punishments, including prison and denial of basic rights as well as being stripped of government benefits. He has called the protesters “lawbreakers” and spreaders of “chaos” and congress is currently investigating the alleged “subversive organizers” of the “anti-Israel terrorists.”

The frequently armed settlers have been attacking unarmed Palestinians, destroying their homes and businesses, ruining their crops and vineyards, and even killing them on occasion. Israeli police and army standing by do nothing to stop the fun and even frequently participate themselves by arresting and beating Palestinians who are guilty only of being Palestinian. Hundreds of Palestinians have been arrested without charges apart from “preventive detention” since the troubles began in October and the jails are overflowing. The clear intention, verbalized without any shame by senior Israeli government officials like Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, is to produce a Greater Israel cleansed of Arabs. And Biden, who pretends to favor a two-state solution to the unrest, helps the process along by vetoing UN resolutions that would help create separate sovereignty for Palestine.
Some of the most outrageous recent developments have been the settlers’ interfering with shipments of food and medicines entering into Gaza, a point that a faux-sympathetic Biden stresses repeatedly when pontificating regarding bringing aid to the starving people who are trapped with nowhere to go inside the enclave. The Israel clampdown even includes the Mediterranean Sea being blocked off by the Israeli navy which shoots any desperate Gazans who try to go close to the water so they can fish for food. In the most recent incidents, observed by the standing-by but inert Israeli army and police, truckloads of food were blocked, the drivers and aid workers removed and beaten, and the food was destroyed and burned before the trucks were treated likewise. In another incident settlers dumped huge boulders on one of the access roads to a checkpoint leading into Gaza, rendering it impassible and blocking any aid. Journalists and aid workers are meanwhile being killed by the army to prevent any reporting of what is going on while the US State Department refuses to condemn the activity. Biden called the interference with assistance convoys “outrageous” but has done nothing whatsoever about it, nor has he followed up on pledges to sanction Israelis who attack Palestinians or their property on the West Bank.
The whole problem is that Israel is a monster, an apartheid state that somehow feels it is empowered by God and the United States to kill all its neighbors and rob the American taxpayer to pay for and equip the slaughter. Israel is backed by an all-powerful US domestic lobby that includes unlimited Jewish money and activist Zionist groups like the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) led by the hideous Jonathan Greenblatt and the venerable American Israel Political Affairs Committee (AIPAC), both of which are now busy raising money to defeat all congress critters who have ever criticized the Jewish state. ADL and AIPAC are also linked to “that old time religion” knucklehead Christian Zionists concentrated in the Republican Party who have their Scofield Bibles firmly embedded between their ears where their brains are supposed be. A partial solution would be to make the Jewish-Zionist groups register as foreign government agents directed by Israel under the the terms of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), which is exactly what they are, but that will never happen. President John F. Kennedy tried to register the predecessor group to AIPAC and many believe he paid the ultimate price for that affront as well as for his bid to stop Israel’s nuclear weapons program.
So, my fellow Americans, what should we do? Well, we should do whatever we can, which includes speaking out about how we have been sold out by our leaders and opinion makers, and we should continue to do that even knowing that they will try to silence us by destroying free speech in this country. It is all we have left and we should continue to oppose what is happening. The first step however, is to get rid of politicians like Joe and Donald, who have been completely corrupted by more than fifty years in the “system” and are totally sold out and irresponsible in their behavior. There are honest politicians and journalists out there and we just have to find them, support them and get them elected and in positions where they will be able to bring about change in how things are done in Washington! One might call it the New American Revolution to restore our rights and free us from foreign oppression!

Before I get into this, on the off chance that you read this I just want to tell you that my fiancé and I watch your videos religiously and love sitting down to watch you every evening after a long day, don’t stop what you’re doing, we love you immensely Charlotte.

One day a couple of summers ago, I’d just walked on shift from the break room when a lady walked up to me and immediately started screaming at me; “YOU! FIX THIS!” and thrust upon me a box with a very expensive kettle (for the non-Europeans, this is something we brits use to boil water for our tea to have with our crumpets). Pushing the shock aside, I take a breath and smile at her, with my usual cheeky smile and say “Mind telling me what’s wrong with it?”
I lead her over to the Customer service desk where she all but slams her receipt onto the desk and screeches at me like a hyena; “THIS KETTLE ISN’T BOILING PROPERLY! I BOUGHT IT A WEEK AGO AND IT’S JUST NOT WORKING RIGHT!” I nod in understanding because at this point, she was just an angry lady with something that wasn’t working. Fair enough.
So I take it out of the box, look it over and inform her that I can’t seem to see anything wrong with it. “Does it not boil ma’am? What seems to be wrong with it?”
The Karen then takes a deep breath and screams again; “I GOT THIS HOME, TURNED IT ON AND IT WAS BOILING TOO QUICKLY! IT’S CLEARLY FAULTY!” after a second of thinking and processing I reiterate what she says, and confirm with her “So…What you’re saying is it’s boiling water…Efficiently?”
I’ve never seen someone’s face change quite the way hers did, her cheeks went red, her eyes went wide, she took another deep breath and with what I can only describe as the sound of a T-rex screaming in pain shouts “NO! YOU’RE USELESS! HONESTLY! THE BOX SAID IT GOES FROM COLD TO BOILED IN THREE MINUTES FOURTY! THIS BOILED IN TWO MINUTES FIFTY! IT’S CLEARLY FALSE ADVERTISING AND I WANT IT REPLACED!”
At this point, I’m a little bit stuck. Because my brain is trying to wrap it’s head around this little old fossil standing in her kitchen with a stopwatch in one hand, clipboard in the other, timing the damn thing to make sure it’s boiling at the right time and the fact that she is technically in the right to ask for a new one if it’s not charging right…So I compromise; “okay, I’m really sorry that this isn’t working the way you want. I can either go and see if I’ve got another one on the shelf for you, Or I can send this off for repair but it’ll get laughed out of the repair shop when I type up the reason for it going…What sounds better?”
She then begins to wave her receipt at me like some sort of fan and looks at me like I’ve just stood on her foot “ARE YOU F**KING SERIOUS! GET ME A NEW ONE BEFORE I THROW THIS THING AT YOU” It’s at this point that my brain starts tuning her out, and I start typing in the barcode to just get her a new one and get her the hell away from my desk. Typically, I haven’t got any of the model she bought, hers was the last one. “Ma’am I’m really sorry, but yours was the last one, I can order you one in, or the store in the town across has them in, they’ll be able to return it for you and get another for you!” I smile, thinking my option reasonable. Not to the T-rex.
“YOU BETTER GO AND FETCH IT THEN BECAUSE I’M NOT MOVING ANOTHER STEP UNTIL MY KETTLE IS F**KING* REPLACED!”
I could explain to her that I don’t work for that store, and can’t just go and fetch it, but at this point, my brain has checked out, and all I can say is “that’s not going to happen unfortunately”
She then proceeds to pick the kettle up, try and hit me with it, calling me every name under the sun as security escort her out, faulty kettle and all.

What still baffles me, is that this lady thought a kettle boiling too quickly was a problem. I checked the fuse, and even the boiling coil and there was nothing wrong with it. My only other thought was that she wasn’t filling it enough and that was why it was boiling faster. I've spent the last three weeks going over Youtube videos and written tutorials and extensive chats with Claude (AI) on trying to get my DNS servers going. No matter who's tutorial I follow, I end up with a slew of errors that the tutorials say nothing about.
I've also tried googling/ai chat botting the errors, and the solutions don't help me either.
Please, what am I doing wrong?!?!
I'm running bind9 through docker on a RPi3B (master) and RPi3B+ (slave). I can't even get just of them up and running without errors.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I'm just about ready to give up.

$NVAAF has completed a pit-constrained S-K 1300 mineral resource estimate (MRE) and technical report for its flagship Estelle Gold Project in Alaska's Tintina Gold Belt — a requirement of Nova’s proposed US listing, which has now been filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
SK-1300 refers to the mineral resource and reporting standards adopted by the SEC and is required by the SEC ahead of Nova’s proposed US listing.
In a separate announcement to the ASX, Nova said it had publicly filed a registration statement on Form F-1 with the SEC relating to the proposed public offering of American depositary shares (ADS).
Nova CEO Christopher Gerteisen said, “The completion of the S-K 1300 MRE and technical report marks a major milestone in support of our proposed US listing. All credit to our experienced Nova team and consultants who spent endless hours to get the job done.
“The increase in the pit-constrained resource highlights the extreme sensitivity to a rising gold price and improved technical parameters.
"The present gold bull market and further efficiencies that are being investigated through our current PFS studies continue to provide additional potential upside for the Estelle Gold Project.”

Increase in pit-constrained resource

The S-K 1300 MRE shows a significant 76% increase in the total pit-constrained resource compared to the scoping study pit-constrained resource. The measured and indicated resources for the S-K 1300 MRE relative to the scoping study in-pit resources show a 20% increase of 450,000 ounces to 2.72 million ounces of gold.
Nova's current JORC code-compliant unconstrained global mineral resource estimate of 9.9 million ounces of gold remains and was used as the basis for the S-K 1300 pit-constrained MRE of 5.17 million ounces of gold.
S-K 1300 MRE guidelines comply with the JORC code, however, they require the application of additional parameters (eg technical and economic factors) that establish reasonable prospects of economic extraction.
The Estelle S-K 1300 MRE is reported within optimized pit shells generated from economic parameters that reflect a large-scale open pit operation and is comparable to the methodology used to determine the in-pit resources for gold production as reported in last year’s scoping study.
The increases are largely due to an increase in the gold price used to generate the optimal pit shells from US$1,850 in the scoping study to US$2,000 and increasing the pit slope angles to 50 degrees, in the S-K 1300 MRE.

I (25 M) befriended someone (23 F) at a university event and we became good friends. One thing led to another and things got a little heated. We were in bed one day and I asked her if she wanted to date me and she started crying remembering something about her ex. So I stopped talking about it. She would still stay over, and sleep together and the works.
Cut to a month later she corners me asks if I want to make it official and be her boyfriend. For some reason I had snapped out of it (still interested in keeping things casual). I wasn’t really a 100% into her but I did like the idea of seeing someone and the warmth of another person there for me at the end of the day. But I was afraid of committing because I wasn’t a 100% into her.
Cut to two months later, she’s seeing someone else. Now I feel like shit. Am I just lonely? Do I miss her or the attention I got from her? She tries to make plans with me and my friends and I feel horrible knowing her new boyfriend will be there. I had a minor meltdown when she said she’s going to watch hockey with him and invited me. I’m usually a very secure person and I’m not used to feeling this horrible. Any/all advice appreciated. Thanks

This happened a few years ago when I(23 F) was working at my first ever job.
A little backstory, after the Pandemic started to lift a little, I needed to find a job to help with rent and other bills. So for several weeks I sent out application after application on all types of websites from indeed to Facebook. I sent out a lot of applications, unsure if anyone was even seeing them. I finally received a call from a job I applied through via facebook. Though I wasn’t hired for the position I applied to originally, I still got hired nonetheless for a different position that paid a bit more. This being my first job, I wasn’t accustomed to the whole ‘work relationship’ thing, just happy I finally got a job after trying to apply to one for who knows how long. So I did my best, and tried to come in early and stay late(as late as I was permitted since I was on closing shifts). And it paid very well with the hours I was given. However, as time went on, my job started taking up more and more of my free time for friends and family, occasionally asking me to come in on days that I wasn’t scheduled for to cover a different department that paid the same as the position I was working in, or to cover someone who called in. Being the new naive worker that I was, I reluctantly accepted EVERY TIME THEY ASKED. I wasn’t too bugged the first few months I worked with this company, until one day I eventually caught the vid in early October, nearly collapsing at work before I even knew I caught the virus. At first, some of the managers didn’t think I was being serious, assuming that I was just wanting to get out of work, but quickly changed their tune when I sent the positive test forcing me to wait the mandatory quarantine time before being able to get back into work. When the mandatory time was up, I was at my job as a guest just to see a few work friends saying how I couldn’t wait to go back to work… yet my department manager said that I needed a negative test provided, PROVING I was no longer contagious. Mind you, I did ask other managers prior to showing up as a guest the day before I was supposed to go back to work, and they said as long as I was feeling better then I could come in on my next scheduled shift. So I missed an entire pay period because I had to wait a few days for my results to prove I wasn’t sick anymore, and went telling my work friends about it, they said it was weird, because they didn’t need to do that when they caught it. I just brushed it off, not wanting to think that my manager didn’t like me or something. So then I went back to the same routine of working my usual days, and taking on the shifts that needed to be covered. Obviously after recovering, my health wasn’t as great as it used to be(not that it was to begin with), so I did have some days where I HAD to show up even if I felt like crap because I could never find anyone to cover my shift, and this lead to me working 7-10 days straight on 8-10 hour shifts. I was lucky to catch a break on some of these days, especially if I was in for mid shift instead of my usual closing shift. I did occasionally get some requested time off, but even then I was called in to work to cover another department’s shift. Still being the pushover I was(I still am but not as severely), I went in even though I had family gatherings that were planned in advance. Like my mother’s birthday that was being hosted with my roommates(my sister and her boyfriend)and I, I still was asked to come in even though I requested that day off. I even missed my sister’s wedding because they wanted me to come in(and I was so busy with work I didn’t even know that they were getting married till the day before they got married). Once more, I requested some upcoming family birthdays off so I could spend time with my family, but I was called in DAY OF, asking to be in during the time it would be mid party because they couldn’t find anyone to cover. I had worked an entire week before this gathering, so I showed up like an hour late out of spite since I requested that specific day off weeks in advance. Then a family member came to stay with me and my roommates, causing more stress at home than there was before. I was also looking for apartments that were much closer to work so I wouldn’t have to rely too much on my sister or her husband picking me up after work. But I had to hold off on the search with this family member treating our apartment as if it were their own. They took up the room I used to stay in, but was vacant to be used as the kids room, they never locked the bathroom when they used it (ESPECIALLY when my brother-in-law was home from work) and they never let the kids take their proper naps. The day in which I snapped, before heading into work, I had a heated argument with this family member about how inappropriate their habits have been during their stay, how it felt like they were trying to move themselves in as a leach, and not actually respecting the household. They had a meltdown, and I needed to catch the public transportation before I was late, so they went to a hotel where other family was staying as they visited town. This shift was another 8-10 hours, and I was doing my best to hold it all together, realising a little too late that I hadn’t eaten before showing up to work. I shook it off, thinking I’d be able to go on break after another coworker, but they never came back, finding out they just went home instead. I was left alone in my department up until closing, unable to get a break up until the last hour the place was open. Putting in my food, thinking it would be done by the time I was ready for my break in the last 45 mins of my shift, I decided to head into the bathroom on the other side of the building where I knew nobody else was gonna be, and started bawling my eyes out from the week I had. I was in the bathroom a majority of my break, trying to pull myself together. I finally composed myself, heading back to see if the small dish I put in was ready yet… only to find out they hadn’t gotten started on it yet. I sat at the break table until the food was finally done(it was like a cake because I didn’t want to over work the kitchen staff even tho I didn’t want to put my food in at the last possible minute). I finally get back from my break, the last 15 minutes till closing, doing some side work, when a learning-to-be-manager manager was doing their rounds comes up to me and tells me that I NEED to be ready to be off the clock BY closing. I was still shaking from my very limited break that I was lucky to have even gotten, when I calmly tell them I’ll try, but I might not be for a while. They stopped in their tracks, turned to me and asked me what I said. I calmly, a little annoyed, repeat my statement, that I might not be done when they come back around at closing, but I’ll try. They come up next to me, asking me the same question, and I turn to them repeating it again, a little more annoyed than before. They then tilt their head at me, asking where this attitude came from. I say to them that I was finally off my break that should have been done a long time ago, and that I’m tired and not sure I’ll be able to get everything done in my section before closing. I then calmly ask if they could just go finish their rounds and we would see if I’ll be done by the time they get back. They didn’t like that answer and ask me to leave, which I was tempted to, but I was a little too committed to this job. I ask them again to just finish their rounds, and I’ll try be done when I can. They once more don’t like my response, so they physically try to take what I was working on out of my hand and I instinctively pull away, shouting at them to let me finish up my work, and that they should do the same. They then keep trying to get me to leave again, going for what was in my hand as I pull away again. I shout again, telling them to let me just do my job, and they do theirs. They stand there a few minutes before radioing security to come and escort me out. I still stand there, tears in my eyes from the frustration, still working on the side work. Security is now standing next to the LTBM when another manager comes up, asking what was going on. The LTBM tells them I won’t go home when I’m still trying to work. After another scene, the other manager that came up walks me to clock out as my frustrations pour out my eyes again. I eventually calm down again, being led out. They then suspend me for a few days (I hardly got write ups till a week prior for an unrelated incident, and other coworkers had received a lot more that I had, for multiple other reasonings), then telling me I was terminated. Their reasoning, too many write ups, and disrespecting a manager. I get the disrespectful part, I could have tried to handle it better, I’ll admit that, but again, I only had two write ups in the almost year I’ve work with them. Was I wrong for snapping at my manager?

Hello. I have some code for interacting with supabase object storage through python that I'm using after a while. It's throwing this error:
StorageException: {'statusCode': 400, 'error': 'Unauthorized', 'message': 'new row violates row-level security policy'}
Updating the package didn't fix it, neither did using both private and public buckets. Did they change something that I missed, and how do I fix the error? Here's my code:
