Cerita main kote

And ofc, i make it short to save everyone's time.
The story has 2 perspective : Gojek, dan Tukang parkir (niatnya mau ada tambahan 1 lagi, yaitu cerita tentang guruku.. maybe next time i guess.)
Let's start with Gojek.
Gojek Kejadian ini terjadi pasca tahun 2021-an (kalo ga salah).
That's a daring move and deserve my respect. Tapi pas aku mau naik, beliau bilang.. ini baru pertama kali dia ambil pesanan malem-malem dan kebetulan aga capek (kalo ga salah inget). Aku tawarin untuk ngendarain motornya (it was a scoopy. its has good handling but slow as snail speed. but it has good fuel economy. hehe, maaf terlalu mendiskripsikan motornya).
Beliau bilang "Suami saya kabur". That bring a chill on my spine... karena ini ngobrol secara langsung. Beliau bela-belain Nganter barang sampai malam, dan bahkan nyoba nge-gojek. it's somewhat shows how mother figure should always be. She wants nothing but her kids to become succeed and didnt end up like her.
And today 2024, i share her story to here... it shows that maybe even at the very rock bottom, you cannot see down but only up. and you need to keep on going whatever your situation is.
okay, Mari kita langsung aja cerita kedua.
Tukang Parkir Mixue Miksu (ga boleh nyebut merek meskipun keliatan dikit, atleast its for the sake of the funni)
He give me many wise words dan saran sebelum beranjak ke dunia yang bener-bener dewasa. it was all fun and game.
But then, i ask him... "Tapi pak, dengan pemikiran dan wawasan yang luas. Kenapa bapak jadi tukang parkir?" He said ketika beliau di pelabuhan tanjung priuk, dulunya dia kerja sebagai pengangkut barang dan disukai sama bos-nya karena etos kerja-nya yang tinggi (Sambil nunjukin kertas kerja-nya, dan dokumen penting lainnya ketika kerja di pelabuhan tanjung priuk. I was surprised how did he trust me to the point to show me this).
He's respectable person... even as tukang parkir. Maybe some people doesnt have a choice and ended up like him. Bahkan orang berjasa kayak beliau aja di-injek". like damn..... Hope he's having a good day
That's the story for today folks. Have a good day !

2024.05.14 06:19 TotallyNotAjay Quick Kodokan Goshin Jutsu Clinic Write up

This weekend, Ajax Budokan invited Kodokan 9th dan and former head of the Tokyo Police dojo, Michio Fukushima Sensei, to conduct a 4 hour clinic for Kodokan Goshin Jutsu. It was open to yellow belt and higher, though the majority consisted of Yudansha. My senseis had the honour of demoing the kata, as Fukushima Sensei's health did not permit presenting each technique multiple times, though he did show some of the finer details, demo mechanics, and gave comments as to what was good and displayed what could be fixed. He also talked about older versions of the techniques and how/ why they have been changed. Regretfully, it totally slipped my mind to film during the seminar, as there was a lot of good information, translated (and left untranslated) by the interpreter.
Some General Notes on Fukushima Sensei Fukushima Sensei on multiple occasions mentioned how one should carry themselves and move, more specifically he talked about how he usually sees toris get away with bad shisei as uke's attacks are generally to kind or passive, and that if they genuinely attacked, most toris would be off balance. Additionally he mentioned that a lot of IFJ competition now is power judo, where the technical aspects are replaced for brute force and speed.
The main note he makes is to keep the knees alive (slightly bent and bouncy like a spring), and that most novices have a tendency to straight leg their kata. He also made it a great point to explain the logic of the waza in the kata and how the kuzushi is created. Other important details he talked about were that uke shouldn't be a limp noodle once his attack is over, that tori should keep good sabaki (unclear if sabaki was short hand for tai sabaki as he also stated tai sabaki on different occasions (the details were paraphrased by the translator)), and the usage of rotation from the hips to maintain proper balance (tai sabaki). Additionally, he talked about things relating to karada (the body) and some anecdotes (such as stories about judoka such as Michigami, Isao Okano, and Nagaoka if I was hearing correctly, though I don't speak Japanese, only somewhat familiar with it), which were left untranslated or paraphrased sadly.
Emphasised details in the kata (not explanations or descriptions of how to do a technique) and my experiences (FYI Sensei mostly used the Tomiki names for the waza Tori applied)
Attacks when held
  1. Ryote dori - my partner and I (both new to this kata for the most part) went in on this one and struggled as we didn't see the detail of thumb in hand for the lock (blind leading the blind, though we later worked near a kind pair after this who helped check more closely as they were experienced in the kata)
    1. Yahazu (hook notch shaped hand [thank you Mr. Gatling for pointing that out]) is very important to direct uke's arm
    2. You aren't pulling the arm away to free it, you are pushing your elbow forward which pressures uke's arm
    3. Te gatana to the uto (point between uke's eyes)
    4. When applying the lock (te gatame), make sure to rotate uke's hand such that the fingers are pointing up
    5. When applying the lock, take the uke's arm in the direction perpendicular to the line made by his feet
  2. Hidari eri dori - I particularly liked this one, though my uke was confused the first few times as he kept trying to apply waki gatame.
    1. Tori must grab underneath uke's hand on the lapel when stepping back
    2. When grabbing uke's hand to break the grip and apply the lock (kote hineri), tori should have his thumb in between uke's thumb and fingers, and to take the uke's arm in the direction perpendicular to the line made by his feet
    3. Uke should try to maintain jigo tai rather than lean so the lock is applied cleanly
    4. Tori's hand should not be limp when delivering the strike
  3. Migi eri dori - I couldn't get kote gaeshi to work properly, will have to practice and ask my sensei about it later, same with my partner
    1. Tori should maintain a upright posture as uke pulls him forward, and use the landing of his foot to drive his hand for the uppercut to uke
    2. Tori should try to keep uke's hand attached to his centerline as he makes tai sabaki
  4. Kata ude dori - My uke was very stiff, so applying the initial lock to him proved difficult, though he claims he felt it. I found this kata easy to remember as the legs go left right left right (step, step, tai sabaki, kick, then lead with the right for the lock)
    1. You are kicking with the side of the foot
    2. The step before the kick pivot around so your feet are almost parallel
    3. For waki gatame, you should be standing inside his feet, near parallel to the line perpendicular to his feet
  5. Ushiro eri dori - I had experience with this one as sensei had taught during some free time a while back
    1. The parry with the arm was stated to also be the preferred way to receive punches, though take that as you will (though it is a common method in karate as well)
    2. The strike should be to the suigetsu (solar plexus)
    3. Trap uke's hand with your head so that it can't wiggle all over the place when applying the lock
  6. Ushiro jime - My partner and I both had a tendency to lift the shoulder off after spinning out, will have to work on that. I will be honest, had I known this escape, I probably would have come out of an incident a few years back (before I started Judo) rather unscathed as I was jumped and then kicked on the ground by a person who was quite a pain.
    1. The attack and initial defence are identical to that of katame no kata, following which tori rotates out
    2. Keep pressure with your shoulder until your grip has been changed
  7. Kakae dori - We didn't have enough mat space to finish the throw without running into other groups, but the technique is surprisingly effective. Though I couldn't initially find out how to do the armlock and had to ask my sensei about it, now it's pretty easy.
    1. Rotate the arm away from you (clockwise from your perspective) and pull uke's arm into you
    2. During the initial stomp, straighten up and raise your arms to loosen uke's grip
Attacks when at a distance - I got less time to try these in general as I wanted my partner to get a feel for them as they are a bit more complicated and he is less experienced
  1. Naname uchi - this was a fun situation, it shows how a little bit of atemi can be used to setup a randori waza, and Fukushima Sensei complimented my senseis' performance saying that it was better than the current text book
    1. Te gatana is used to redirect the strike
    2. Osoto otoshi is performed
    3. Pushing the arm through is important to create the kuzushi necessary for the waza
  2. Ago tsuki - I didn't actually get a chance to try this one more than once as my partner struggled with it, he kept applying a shoulder lock by pushing on the elbow without the redirect with the thumb up (shoulder is still sore)
    1. when directing uke's attack up and away, do not lean back as then you are unstable
    2. Use yahazu to direct uke's elbow toward his ear
    3. As uke will not like this use the moment after releasing the elbow lock to throw him forward in the direction perpendicular to his feet.
  3. Gammen Tsuki - My partner really liked this one, I can see the uses as I've used similar entries when messing around with strikes + judo with this partner as I have a bit of karate experience
    1. Uke is meant to do a break fall, thus tori needs to get out of the way after releasing the choke
    2. Uke should realistically be aiming for where tori's uto would be if he did not evade
  4. Mae Geri - this was a relatively easy one to grasp, but quite a bit of practice is needed before a full force kick can be considered
    1. Rotate ukes foot outwards so that it is not easy for him to rotate in to escape
    2. In the original, tori would lift uke's leg high but many ukes ended up injured from hitting their heads, so now tori just pushes back
  5. Yoko geri - My sensei has introduced this one at the dojo before as well, though he prefaced it with about a minute of just practicing a side kick. My partner (who suffers from light knee pain) couldn't kneel during the finish
    1. The use of the te gatana to redirect the kick in the direction it is going, very similar to karates low block
    2. During the finish tori creates a void for uke to be thrown but in real life tori would throw uke onto his knee
Attacks with weapons - I understand people dislike these (reasonably in some cases), but I've found them to be useful points to explore
Attacks with a knife - Sensei Fukushima mentioned how despite my senseis making it look easy
Both my partner and I have practiced these quite a lot (I was the only one who was taught it by sensei but we practiced it on our own time), so not as many personal notes. Though I don't have a good experience so my brain switches to serious and my heart rate increases despite the fact that I know these are fake weapons.
  1. Tsukkake
    1. The elbow should be pushed forward (I've actually experimented with this in the past by asking uke to try to stab me as I applied the defence, and we've found after the initial push and strike, tori is in a relatively good position, be it to run away or finish the kata)
    2. Push the locked up arm up and towards uke, then guide him to the ground
  2. Choku zuki - I struggled to apply the waki gatame, I'm guessing it was control of the wrist that was the problem, this form is relatively straight forward and makes sense
    1. The strike should not be a boxer style punch, but more like the first punch in szkt
    2. uke should not go limp
    3. when moving away from uke, take him perpendicular to the line between his feet
  3. Naname Zuki - Personally I think this form is cutting it close in many regards, but the control tori has is quite surprising
    1. Don't grab the blade from the sharp edge
Attacks with a jo - PSA, no matter how much you trust your uke, mistakes happen (especially with such a solid weapon) so remain vigilant to mitigate damage
  1. Furi age - this was a relatively easy technique to grasp as it is an application of O soto gari setup with a palm strike to the chind
    1. Tori should enter as soon as uke begins to raise his arm, almost a preemptive entry
    2. Tori strikes at the ago (chin) with a palm strike, then places his hand on the throat for the throw
  2. Furi oroshi - My partner leant into the swing and wacked me on the forehead, it could've been worse but it just grazed the outer layer as I saw the jo come closer after my initial retreat and attempted to turn out of the way. Both a PSA for tori and uke. Tori do not keep your eyes off uke, and uke please don't lean into a swing, you are horribly off balance, and you make it harder for tori to read. Also uke don't speed up when you 2 are learning (I don't know why my partner chose too...)
    1. Do not hop back onto one leg and then towards uke with the other, it leads you to have bad posture
    2. Better to make a big retreat than get hit
    3. 2 strike, one ura ken (back fist), followed by knife hand push
    4. Uke's swing should be at a diagonal
  3. Morote zuki - I didn't get to practice this one as my partner was taken a bit aback after the previous incident and couldn't get the steps right for this one. Fukushima Sensei mentioned something along the lines of how a judoka was faced with a juken and couldn't figure out what to do, and thus this form was created to address that.
    1. Tori shouldn't be rowing the jo away to shake off and throw uke
    2. The arm puts pressure on uke's arm forward
    3. Tori should be trying to angle the jo down towards himself after the initial grab
Attacks with a gun - I struggled with all of these, but I think the principles are relatively sound. Though in real life, I'd most likely give up my valuables. Fukushima Sensei emphasised hip rotation in these movements, as he says that you want to direct the gun away without moving your feet, which is what uke would be seeing when looking at your pocket.
Always make sure to begin your defence after uke is clearly focused on checking your pockets, never when his focus is directly on you
  1. Shomen Zuke
    1. Grab the barrel of the gun thumb up
    2. During the disarm, push the gun's muzzle to face towards him
  2. Koshi Gamae - I kept getting the second hand wrong and thus the barallel was pointed towards me in the final attack, will need to work on that
    1. Grab the barrel of gun initially with the thumb down with your right hand, and push the gun so that it is horizontal after turning left, then grab the gun from below with your right
    2. make sure to not point the gun at yourself when hitting with the butt
  3. Haimen Zuke - this is quite a dangerous move in theory, but also one of the more likely ones
    1. Wrap uke's arm with your arm, but make sure to direct the muzzle up with the free arm
    2. [uke] should let go of gun, as this is a hard breakfall
Overarching and repeated themes in the kata
Overall, it was quite a good event, and I learned a lot. This kata isn't the most realistic with the attacks (though apparently a few people I know have used the ryote dori attack shockingly), but what I've learned so far is relatively sound, hopefully some time soon I can convince my partner to do some live resistance sparring with some gear on (which I have done with the knife portion with a plastic knife). Fukushima Sensei had a lot to say, as he was actively discussing his experiences and koshiki no kata after the seminar with another Japanese speaker, and I hope to be able to attend another one of his classes again someday.
Here are some videos featuring Michio Fukushima from a few years back, both where he was actively demoing, and where he had a slightly more corrective position.

2024.05.03 02:22 LostInStories222 Character Eye Color/Descriptions Compilation

Goal: Someone on the main sub asked about the various eye colors we knew of. I searched my ebook on "eyes" and still had to spot check, so could have missed some. Interestingly, "dark" eyes is used for brown, green, and blue eyes. But for the green and blue, the dark only comes with people who's eye color changes (Kvothe, Bast, Felurian, Elodin - Fae/Iax connection?). Many characters are simply said to have "dark" eyes without a color ever stated. I also included other descriptors besides color in some cases, where it seemed particularly descriptive.

2024.04.30 23:05 SecondaryDary Bogu that hurts the least:

I've been practicing for a while now and the dojo's sensei told me and some other beginners we should start thinking about bogu.
I've been in an (hand-me-down really used, poorly fitted and probably very cheap) bogu before at a uni dojo (they wanted everyone to know how being in bogu and getting hit feels).
It felt awful. Horrendous. I'd see black and my body would go limp for a second.
Now I've seen kendo. It doesn't look that bad. I've been told it's not supposed to be that bad but I just cannot get that feeling out of my head. I think the really bad men and the lack of tenouchi of my fellow beginners were the main culprits, but I'm still fairly scared.
I've been on kendostar and I don't think I can afford any custom one. The pricer (but still standard size) extra protection one is at the high end of my budget. Is it the best option when it comes to protection? Are there any other bogu makers that deliver to the EU who make extra protective gear?
Do you have recomandation for additional protection (I've seen some under kote and under men)?
I need the best protection I can get and I'm not sure how to go about it.
Any tips, suggestions, recommendations are welcome.

2024.04.22 21:31 Enervata How Kvothe is Unknowingly Helping the Chandrian

Okay, I'll mainly stick to my personal headcannon that seems to fit with the books. This started as a response to a different post, but it got way too long so I turned it into its own post.
The only motive we've been given for the Chandrian is a story where Lanre essentially states he wants to exterminate humankind for...reasons? Now let's jump to the present frame and we have...a civil war between a Penitent King and some other major power. And we also have freaky fae razor crabs (scrael), skindancers, and who knows what else roaming the countryside now (fae critters running wild). This situation more or less matches up with "death to humanity", or at least a solid leap in that general direction. Let's assume the present hellscape is a case of the Chandrian "winning" per their only stated motive. So how did we get here?
First let's explore the civil war. According to the books the only person with enough wealth and power to challenge King Roderick is the Maer (rich as the King of Vint). Before Kvothe appears in Severen we have an heirless Maer being slowly poisoned to death by Caudicus (an arcanist). Honestly the poison being used is relatively humane, and had it succeeded the likelihood of a civil war breaking out would have been zero to none. (This sounds like a perfect example of "for the greater good", *cough cough*, Amyr plot.) However, Kvothe arrives, foils the plot, plays matchmaker for the Maer, and now there's likely an heir on the way. Add the fact that we know Kvothe is called "Kingkiller", and was employed by the Maer, and it is entirely likely that Kvothe gets branded an assassin working on behalf of the Maer and yada yada, civil war erupts. (Lots of humans dying.)
As to why the Fae is running amok, we have to wait for book 3, but we know Kvothe promised to return to Felurian, he still needs to meet Bast, and the fact Kvothe knows what both a skindancer and scrael are means that he is spending a large portion of time in the Fae realm in book 3, and is quite likely a key reason (or catalyst) why the 2 worlds are now freely joined together. Fae beasties on the loose. (Lots more humans dying.)
This last bit may be a stretch, but there is reason to believe Ambrose and his father are being positioned to be the next King and Prince of the realm. King Roderick is losing bloodline claimants / heirs throughout the first two books (one lost at sea, one in a duel, etc). Pat mentions Ambrose's rising position at least once in each book. Now Kvothe also mentions Princess Ariel at the beginning of the first book. If Auri is indeed the lost Ariel, it means King Roderick's daughter was a former talented student (Elodin and Auri have unique interactions). Auri is now cracked, or at least broken enough not to return home. As a result I highly doubt King Roderick is favorable to the University for losing his daughter, and may currently blame them for it (rightfully so).
Enter Ambrose, who is a complete prick of a person, yet the masters keep protecting and rarely punish him. What if Ambrose is given preferential treatment because the University royally messed up with Auri / Ariel, and they see their way out as helping make Ambrose and his father the next King and Prince? This would put the University in a significantly powerful position, allied with the Kingdom and a Prince who sees the value of sympathy. The University would have freedom the likes of which they have never had previously. Becoming allies with Ambrose (the royal prick) to gain this new level of freedom smacks of "the greater good" *cough cough* Amyr. That Caudicus is helping poison the Maer is further proof that the University is potentially helping Ambrose's family claim not only in Severen, but in the other incidents befalling King Roderick's bloodline.
Now enter Kvothe, whose title in the present frame is "Kingkiller". What better assistance could one person give to the Chandrian, than to kill a king positioned to give the University (*cough cough* Amyr) far-stretching power, start a civil war, and unleash the abominations of the fae upon the world? He is now Kote (aka: disaster). He will destroy a kingdom, the peace, and the Amyr's plans. And nearly all of it unintentionally. He is recording his version of the events to the Chronicler, because none of the affected parties likely view his acts favorably or accidental.

2024.04.13 02:49 Kelekona Could someone help me with an uncomplicated plot to go in this fantasy setting?

I think I want to go more slice-of-life fantasy than cozy fantasy, but I'm not locked into genre yet.
I think my reference is mostly Name of the Wind with some of Hilda and a bit of Mushi-Shi. Name of the Wind never gets to the part where he gets epic, the other two stories don't have the MC being really epic. All three worlds have normal people know that the "magic" exists but not really know how it works.
So I have a low-magic setting with room for people both to be born talented and be able to learn magic as a choice. (Completely untalented people are rare, it's only a disability if they're trying to learn magic.)
I'm thinking there's some reason for MC to get magic training via a patron rather than desire, but he's not particularly gifted or special. (No Destiny, but I am open to a "have the reincarnation be the only one to fix a previous life's screwup" plot.) Where Name of the Wind comes in is that the MC's story keeps wandering off in favor of loredumping. I have an idea that his main mentor is his age, just started training younger, and they're both lore-nerds. (I'm thinking his training is in an unschooling environment rather than mass-production style magic-school like expected.)
I'm not really into having a proper antagonist... I am liking the idea of someone who is trying to force MC into being greater than he wants. (A bit like an academic advisor that insists on making their art student sign up for business classes, but sneakier and worse.) I am really not into the idea of MC being the only one capable of stopping some terrible evil, though I am into him happening to stop one simply because of being in the right time and place before anyone else capable tries.
Edit:
Name of the Wind is about an innkeeper named Kote (given name Kvothe) telling his life story to a man named Chronicler so it gets written down. His family was killed by a group known as the Chandrian, he spends time as a street-rat, hearing a story in a tavern inspires him to go to magic university for access to the library, but he runs into a dead-end in trying to find much information about them and a lot of two thick books is about him not getting more than the occasional clue. A lot of the books are about his life-story, but there's also myths mixed in like a story about a boy who captured the moon.
Hilda is a slice-of-life about a girl who was living in a troll-filled forest, but then her mother decides to move to the city after a giant steps on their cabin. Hilda does a bit of witchcraft but it's one of her friends that really sticks with learning it. She also befriends their brownie, has a tiny elf living with her, and just gets into other mischief with the local magical creatures.
Mushi-Shi is a bit like Pokemon without the animal fights. The MC wanders around learning about weird creatures called Mushi and usually helps people when a mushi starts causing an illness or other trouble. The Mushi are invisible to most people and aren't evil, they're just a force of nature.

2024.04.08 17:40 Xanimal123 The TNI should, in fact, be called out for committing war crimes.

Kemanusiaan yang adil dan beradab
- Sila kedua Pancasila
The world’s eyes are currently on Gaza right now, and for VERY good reasons. After Hamas’s October 7th attack, Israel has razed the entirety of Gaza to the ground with missile strikes, in addition to the deliberate starvation of the population in Gaza of any kind of aid like food, water, fuel, and medicine as collective punishment. Many, and I mean many, war crimes have been documented being committed by the IDF including massacres of innocent civilians, rape, and torture. Israeli officials, soldiers, and segments of the public have been astonishingly clear that they want to ethnically cleanse Gaza of all Palestinians. It’s fully obvious right now that what’s happening in Gaza is a genocidal campaign being committed by the Israeli government with the full backing and funding of the US as well as parts of the Western World.
Some of you may see where I’m going with this, but I think it’s important for me to lay out an example that I’m sure most of you can see is pretty morally unjustifiable and use it to make analogies with what I’m gonna talk about, implicitly or otherwise.
As I’m sure most of you are aware by now, there’s been some recent discourse around the circulation of two video recordings that recently went viral on Indonesian social media where it showed a group of TNI soldiers torturing a Papuan man known as Definaus Kogoya inside a barrel filled with water that was contaminated with his blood. One of the videos shows the soldiers punching, kicking, and beating him in the head, while the other shows someone cutting him with a knife. The soldiers themselves recorded this.
The backlash against the TNI because of the video was so bad that the military had to apologize, investigating 42 soldiers and arresting 13 among them that were suspected of being involved in the torture. The TNI accused the man in the video of being a KKB member who was planning to commit arson, but there’s no evidence of this provided, with members of the man’s family claiming he was just fixing his roof along with another friend of his, Alianus Mirok, when TNI soldiers captured them.
After they were handed over to the police, they were released soon afterwards due to there being a lack of evidence against them. After Defianus was already tortured.
There are also some articles that state that Defianus died from his injuries, which if true would make this whole situation extra fucked.
However, this is far from the only incident of torture that has been committed by the TNI. In February of 2020, a civilian named Jusni was tortured to death by a group of 11 soldiers, with most of the perpetrators only getting 9 to 11 months in prison, and only 2 received a sentence of more than a year as well as getting fired.
Even more recently as I was making this, there was a recent article reporting on how TNI soldiers tortured a journalist in Northern Maluku for reporting on the TNI seizing a ship with minyak tanah and threatened to kill him unless he signed a deal where he promised to stop reporting on their activities and quit being a journalist.
The TNI always had a pattern of behaviour when it comes to this, with there having been 431 cases of torture in Papua by apparatuses happening all the way back from 1963 up until 2010, with only 2 having been committed against pro-independence militants, the rest of them being civilians. Of these cases, 65% of them were committed by the military, 34% by the police, and 1% by separatist militants.
Why was there such a high amount of torture by the military against civilians? Aside from the soldiers having a power complex over other people and for the most part feeling immunity from any kind of punishment, there’s another important reason, racism.
Sangat sulit (mengidentifikasi) karena mukanya hampir sama. Mereka brewok
- Mayjen Izak Pangemanan, Commander of the Cenderawasih Military Area Command, when asked by the press why the military had a hard time distinguishing between civilians and militants.
So, to be clear, because TNI soldiers were incapable of telling the difference between a regular civilian and a separatist militant, they captured civilians who weren’t even involved with the militants in the first place and since they were free to do whatever they want, tortured them. Apparently, this problem is so bad that Papuan men have a term for it, musa (muka sama) because they’re afraid that they’ll be mistakenly captured as being a part of the TPNBP and tortured by TNI soldiers.
Now, with the recent discourse surrounding the use of torture by the TNI in Papua, there’s been some comments by people I’m gonna refer to as “ultranationalists” that try to justify or defend what the TNI soldiers had done in Papua. Some of them are current soldiers that say that because TNI soldiers and POLRI men have been killed by TPNPB members, that they shouldn’t be held accountable for their actions. Then there are your netizens that will basically defend everything the military does and say that the people criticizing them are unpatriotic western bootlickers who should go to Papua themselves if they care so much about HAM.
To put this one straight, I strongly disagree with these deflections, I think they’re war crime apologias and I’m gonna spend the rest of my post arguing against them.
And just to be extra clear, when I say “war crimes,” to my understanding it means violations of international law (including torture) that are committed during an armed conflict, at least from what I read from the UN.
There are 2 main arguments I want to make for this case, the first are the political arguments and the second are the moral arguments.
Political Arguments
If we’re looking exclusively from a realpolitik perspective where the main goal is the integrity of the current borders of NKRI, then what happened in Papua, and most likely continuing to happen, is a fucking optical disaster, and undermines that goal entirely.
In Papua itself, stuff like this would radicalize the fuck out of your average Papuan person, imagine if you found out that a family member of yours was tortured by TNI soldiers and the perpetrators went scot-free, of course you would be fucking livid. It further erodes trust in the institutions of the state and galvanizes the pro-independence movement, as chances are they’ll either join one of the civilian pro-independence organizations, or if they’re in the more rural and mountainous areas take up arms with the TPNPB. TPNPB members don’t just come out of nowhere.
We’ve seen this phenomenon played out countless times already, torturing or oppressing a group of people with the aim to instil fear in a population and subdue them usually leads to the opposite effect. As an example, not long after Oct 7, support for Hamas, which advocates for armed resistance, has increased among Palestinians in both Gaza and the West Bank due to Israel’s incessant bombing of Gaza as well as increasing violence with Ultra-Orthodox settlers in the West Bank, while support for the Palestinian Authority has plummeted to the ground.
Internationally, it hurts Indonesia’s credibility on the world stage, turning public opinion against Indonesia’s handling of Papua. People often forget that one of the reasons why Western governments decided to no longer back Indonesia’s occupation of East Timor (may Henry Kissinger burn in hell) was because of the Santa Cruz massacre, in which Indonesian soldiers gunned down unarmed protesters that killed about at least 250 civilians, with footage of the massacre causing international outcry as well as pressure on Western governments to cut their support for Indonesia, similar to what we’re seeing in Gaza right now.
If your goal IS the integrity of the current Indonesian borders, then you should scream out of the top of your lungs to say that shit like this is unacceptable, because this just leads to the opposite effect.
Moral Arguments
As far as moral arguments go, it essentially boils down to this, torture is morally bad, no exceptions.
For one, torture has terrible effects on the victim. Physically, it can lead to chronic pain, brain damage, hearing and vision loss, cardiovascular and respiratory problems, and physical scars. It also psychologically traumatizes the victim, causing them to have depression, PTSD, sleep deprivation, and in the case of stripping the victim naked, strips them of their identity and causes shame.
Two, torture also affects society at large, as the use of torture can lead to its continued and increased use. If soldiers are allowed to torture someone without any consequences, that leads to the entire military feeling that they can get away with it, leading to more cases like Defianus.
The military should not have leeway when it comes to using extrajudicial punishments, as there’s the rule of law when it comes to stuff like this. The use of torture is a violation of the law itself, as Indonesia is a party of the ICCPR (International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights), which among other things include the prohibition of torture, as well as of UNCAT (United Nations Convention Against Torture). Heck even in the 1945 constitution of Indonesia itself, at verse 28G of chapter 10A (which is a chapter that focuses solely on human rights), it explicitly states the right to be free from torture.
“BuT HAM iS JuSt WeSTeRn SJW ProPagAnda” Pancasila&Orba_supporter_#315645, I dare you say that to our founding fathers.
If we legitimize extrajudicial torture as a legitimate form of punishment by the armed forces, who’s to say that the same tactics can’t be applied to you when you’re, say, protesting or criticizing the government? It sets a bad precedent that your civil rights don't need to be taken into account when it comes to the military or authorities for that matter, as well as further creating a culture of impunity among the military and police. I’m sure most of us here don’t want the return of the Orba regime.
Even if the victim was in fact a KKB member who has done some heinous shit, torture in general, aside from being a bad way to make someone tell the truth as it just leads to people lying in order to escape the pain, is just a harm to the individual and society as a whole, hence why I think it should be universally opposed.
Conclusion
So yeah, that about wraps up the main part of my long fucking Reddit post. Normally in a situation like this, I would just write a comment on a post and call it a day, but certain comments riled up my brain that I felt the need to write this all down.
I’ve seen the same logic espoused by Zionists to justify to their ongoing genocide in Palestine by blaming Hamas being said by Indonesian ultranationalists who try to justify the torture of Papuan civilians because of the actions of the KKB, which is EXTREMELY ironic to me, considering I know that these same people would consider themselves to be Pro-Palestine.
To be extra, extra clear, the killing of civilian workers as well as the burnings of public facilities by Papuan militants are completely unjustified and also constitute war crimes. In the same breath, I’m sure that some TNI soldiers feel pain from the loss of friends to KKB gunshots. But that’s the thing though, some of those people part of KKB probably joined the group at least initially because TNI soldiers did some fucked up shit towards either them or their family and friends, but that surely doesn’t justify their attacks on civilian workers on the vague assumption that they’re “spies for the enemy”, neither should that apply for the TNI (and in case the analogies weren’t obvious enough, this also applies to both Hamas and the IDF).
The insane number of comments, lies, and abuses that were levied against the Rohingya Refugees that landed in Aceh by netizens as well as Acehnese students shows to me how dehumanization rhetoric can affect basically everyone, it just depends on how susceptible you are to it. It’s the main reason why I decided to make this post in the first place. We shouldn’t fall into dehumanization rhetoric of an entire group of people just because of the actions of a few. Terrorism committed by the TPNPB should not give the military impunity to do whatever they want, and vice versa for that matter. If we do, we end up using the same justifications that Zionists use.
Which to me certainly suggests that all people have equal rights, a.k.a., HAM (gasp, scary acronym). I’m not sure if ultranationalists Orba types who defend TNI soldiers torturing civilians and tell protesting students at BEM UI to KKN to Papua realize that they’re going against a literal principle of Pancasila but guess we all have our blind spots.
A few of the responses to this post will say that I’m just a stupid, unpatriotic, SJW who’s out of touch with the real situation in Papua, and maybe I am, but hey, at least I’m not a war crime apologist.

2024.03.31 13:43 RedHippoFartBag Had to set up a brooder jail for a bully, had a few questions.

Hi everybody, first time chicken dad here and I’m crossing this hurdle off my list early apparently. All of my chicks are between 3-5 weeks old. One of my bigger girls (TS had her as an olive egger so not sure of breed) has been a little shit to my other girls. She plucked to the point of blood on two of my girls (including a Brahma that’s bigger than her, who didn’t fight back) so I used blu-kote and got them squared away. Well she started up the next day so it’s jail time. I have a second brooder set up to isolate her, and it seems to be working for the flock. They all seem much more content. So a few questions I have are:
  1. Should I let them see each other? I’ve seen mixed answers, but I created a little window so they can all see each other and the little one that’s isolated just watches and tries to get to them (and cries!)
  2. How long should jail be? I’ve seen anywhere from a day to a week.
  3. If “she” is acting this way because she’s a roo, should I keep him isolated full time? I wasn’t wanting a rooster, especially one that’s mean, but I’m open to it. I have a neighbor who has several incubating who said if I got a roo she would trade me a chick or two for him. So if I have to “cull” it wouldn’t have to mean kill.
  4. She’s got food, water, heat, and a roosting bar in her jail cell. Anything I should add? I hate her in there being bored and sad, even though that’s the point.
Sorry for the wall of text everyone, I just want as much info as anyone is willing to share. Thank you!!
UPDATE: Well 24 hours went by and we tried reintroduction. About 5 minutes in she was back to her old ways, trying to pull out others’ feathers (again mainly the Brahma, but she went for everyone). At this point I think rehoming is going to be the best move. I have someone that has a very well established flock on their farm and I think being around some grown hens who can put her in her place will do her good. Thank you everyone for all the awesome suggestions, I will take all of them moving forward regardless of the outcome.
UPDATE 2 (for anyone who cares) well after my last update I decided to build them all a little pen outdoors while I built the bigger brooder. My wife sat in there with them and everyone got along great! The instigator was too busy with the grass to do any bullying. And when they got back in their new brooder, everyone seems to be getting along! The person who could rehome came and looked at everything and said they should all be fine. So yay! My flock gets to stay the same size for now! Thanks again everyone!

2024.03.23 00:41 Optimal_Constant221 Dicariin Mantan di Facebook

Ini pertamakalinya posting di reddit Indonesia. Semoga ga salah kamar.

Aku mau cerita. Pertengahan tahun lalu mantanku waktu jaman bloon2 dulu tepatnya waktu kuliah inbox aku di fb. Aku kaget tapi seneng karena sebenernya aku juga pernah nyariin dia tapi karena dulu gak tau nama lengkapnya jadi gak pernah ketemu. Singkat cerita dulu aku ninggalin dia kalo gak salah krn kita beda agama. Eh skrg pas dia inbox ngabarin kl kita sdh seagama. Tapi dia sdh nikah.

Aku mulai kerja supaya gak ngandelin suamiku. Tapi stlh kerja bbrpa bulan ternyata penyakitku makin kambuh. Aku gak bisa kerja lagi.

Aku gak mungkin berdiri sendiri lagi. Aku tergantung sama suami apalagi ada anak2. Tapi jauh didalam lubuk hatiku aku tersiksa hidup sama dia.

2024.03.08 17:14 MaddieLlayne Questions as a returning player

Hi! A few questions. Last time I played this game was KotEE I think is how it was abbreviated? I was a nightmare ops rper and also a very active role player.
Since then has the game changed so drastically that I would be lost trying to pick my characters up where I left off? I mained a sith sorcerer with the lightning spec.
Also, is roleplay still consistent and active on SWTOR? I played on I think it’s called Star Forge? Or ebon hawk? Imperial side was my choice but I had maybe one republic toon I think.

2024.03.08 11:03 CoomerDoomer92 [CopyPastaFB] ADIL ???

[CopyPastaFB] ADIL ???
ADIL ??? Saya rasa ramai pernah nampak kedai dan promosi ni. 1. Nama kedai ni Baker’s Cottage
  1. Dia buat promosi yang amat menarik.
  2. Seekor ayam panggang pada harga 16.90 sahaja
  3. Banyak tahun dah dia buat
  4. Strategi dia sangat power
  5. Dulu Baker’s Cottage ni mcm dah sendu sket...….
  6. Tapi diaorang buat strategy loss leader ni, Ramai orang datang membeli
  7. Dan dia berjaya buka banyak outlet satu Malaysia
  8. Tapi kenapa saya letak tajuk ADIL ??
  9. Macam ni citer nya
  10. Baker’s Cottage ni kedai lama.. brand dah lama
  11. Jual roti.. kedai bakery la
  12. Ok la roti dia sedap
  13. Tapi business dia tak strong sangat
  15. Dan di beli oleh syarikat Leong Hup
  16. Siapa syarikat Leong Hup ni
  17. Dia jual ayam...
  18. Walau anda seorang Muslim yang claim anda tak beli ayam dari kedai bukan muslim… kemungkinan besar anda silap
  19. Leong Hup ni adalah salah satu syarikat integrator kat Malaysia ni
  24. Jumlah transaki ayam diaorang capai level puluhan juta sebulan
  25. Senang cerita 70% ayam kat Malaysia datang dari diaorang
  26. Walau awak beli dari kedai melayu kat pasar, kemungkinan BESAR ayam tu datang dari giant ni ni...Kadang boleh kata hampir pasti
  27. Yes mereka la giant.. Leong Hup salah satu giant terbesar di Malaysia
  28. Sebab apa giant, sebab mereka la yang hari hari decide berapa harga ayam nak jual kat pasaran
  29. Kita dok tibai menteri kalau ayam naik harga… sebenarnya kartel ni lagi besar dari kementerian
  30. Susah nak faham harga ayam
  31. Tapi takper la… itu satu hal… selagi dia sembelih , ada sijil halal… saya rasa ok la nak buat mcm mana....
  32. Mmg tak ramai supplier lain… Tapi kita usahakan la support brand mcm Ayam Bismi dalam perjuangan mereka..
  35. Ni citer Bakers Cottage ni
  36. Leong Hup beli Bakers Cottage...So BC dgn pengalaman banyak, dan duit boss baru yang banyak...Dia dah jadi level big brand...
  37. Lepas tu LEONG HUP supply ayam kat BC ,
  38. Pastu BC beli oven combi...panggang ayam... jual sekor ayam panggang harga 16.90
  39. Order banner besar letak depan kedai...Ayam Panggang 16.90
  40. Hahaha... terdiam gak tengok harga dia
  41. Untung la pelanggan....hari hari masuk...beli ayam sauk gak roti dan lain lain...Bijak betul strategi ni
  42. Tapi peniaga lain gigit jari
  43. RM 16 tu kalau peniaga lain ...harga kos belum masak, tak masuk kos pekerja , sewa dan lain lain
  44. Pengsan beb
  45. Dah celah mana nak bersaing... tapi ni bukan masalah peniaga ayam jer...
  46. Banyak bisnes kecil... tak kisah la jual ayam ke..ikan ke, tapir ker hatta jual pensil tekan sekali pun...selalu hadap dilemma ni...
  48. Maka terpaksa jual pada harga tinggi
  49. Bila dia jual tinggi ,nak kena lawan dgn company giant mcm Leong Hup ni...Yang ada modal banyak dan kos rendah..Also R&D yang power... Maka company start up tak leh lawan guna kekuatan produk semata mata
  50. Sebab tu banyak brand start up main sentimen lain... contoh ..perkauman, agama, simpati, gimik, influencer, gimik, dan lain lain.
Tapi apa daya saing yang ada time tu...Lepas tu cakap peniaga ni penunggan agama
  52. Contoh mudah cuba tengok Syukor Burger la...... Dia buat burger level street...Sama taraf dgn McD... pada harga marhaen... (So jangan compare kan dia dgn brand Woodfire lak)
  53. So kalau Syukor Burger letak sebelah sebelah dgn McD... of course la automatik orang akan cakap burger syukor tak sedap, service tak power, brand tak standard, staff tak friendly...
  54. Mekdi tu dah berpuluh tahun niaga kot...Syukor baru setahun buka kedai burger... Mmg tak leh lawan
  55. Sebab tu dia kena guna strength personal branding dia dulu... tarik pelanggan...
  56. Nak perbaiki ni take time... takkan boleh nyer tetiba terrer.... heheheheh
  58. Saya takder apa apa against Leong Hup dan Baker's Cottage... Saya ada je beli ayam dia...sedap gak for the price...
  60. Dan berdamai yang brand baru nak naik ni tak boleh sempurna di peringkat awal... at least 10 tahun pertama mereka akan keep on buat mistake.
  61. Faham yang brand start up kadang kena jual mahal... Kalau tak nak beli takper tapi jangan jatuhkan mereka dgn kecaman berjemaah
  62. Saya tak pertikai ADIL ke Baker's Cottage jual harga ayam murah...dia power buat strategi...dia ada kelebihan..adil la guna.. No prob..Respect!!!
  63. Tapi saya nak tekan kan.. Adil ke Bulan ramadhan nanti , kalau korang nampak orang meniaga ayam golek kat Pasar Ramadhan... jual harga RM 22 sekor... pastu cakap "ni la peniaga nak gi haji balik hari, menipu harga jer...Baker's Cottage boleh je jual murah..."
  64. Jeng woiii !!!
  65. Saya menulis pasal dunia F&B dan perkongsian pengalaman dan pandangan saya.. Banyak lagi content cenggini kat FB Saya.

2024.03.03 21:11 CaramelMacchaito My thoughts after a month/100+ hours of SWTOR

Beware of spoilers for story elements!

TL:DR - This game has its flaws for sure. Lots of weird glitches in cutscenes and a couple of crashes but nothing to make me put the game down. The gameplay feels great and the story is fantastic (the tail end of KOTFE/KOTEE was lackluster imo). In the middle of Onslaught and I'm ready to be done to do other class stories

So I want to preface this by saying this isn't my first time playing SWTOR. I tried it here and there over the years and could never really get into it while also swapping between WoW and FFXIV. This time, however, I made a goal to play for a whole month and get as far as I could, and see where I would want to go from there. Here we are a day before my sub renews and over 100 hours played on my Jedi Knight. I'm currently in the middle of Onslaught, and with a week off from work, plan on finishing the story up to current content before going for Legendary status.

I'll talk about gameplay first. Tab target MMOs are my bread and butter. So it was no surprise that combat feels great. Tab targeting itself can be a little frustrating when swapping targets for executes, but nothing I can't handle with a click. I started as a Sentinel because two lightsabers are dope. When given the option to pick a second combat style, I tried out Assassin. And never looked back. This class is so much fun. Building up lighting to crit big numbers felt great. Stealth helped speed up some of the slogs in the stories, and double-bladed lightsabers are even more dope. So 9/10 for combat.

I have done some crew skills here and there but it's pretty much like other MMOs except for being able to send companions out on missions. I liked this feature as it let me focus on questing instead of veering off the road to pick something up in the middle of a pack of enemies. Selling mats on the GTN made me a millionaire overnight, and while I see what some things are selling for, it felt good to have somewhat expendable income. I can see myself making a lot of credits from the GTN given the right amount of time. I just don't know what to spend them on once I get all the legacy unlocks.

Story time. I decided to go with Jedi Knight since it felt like the most basic choice for the story. I figured I would see the most from the expansions being that since it's most likely the main character technically. The class story was pretty good. Felt a lot like playing KOTOR. Big looming threats interweaved with smaller tasks for me to handle, and overall it felt great. I will say, that the Dark Side choices for JK are very Saturday morning cartoon villains, but some of them were comical. I made choices based on what felt right at the moment, but that ended up making me Dark 2 before the end. Satele wasn't too happy about that, but she didn't do anything all of my story so I don't care for her opinion. The tail end of the JK story felt off. Like they wanted me to be Revan without being Revan, and I was not a huge fan of that. Overall, the class story is a 7.5/10.

Expansions... have been hit or miss. RotHC was interesting but felt boring after what I just did in the JK story. SoR felt like KOTOR again and I liked it. Setting up Theron and Lana was a huge payoff later as I did like these characters from the get-go. I just with my companions in both of those did more than be a JPG in the background. RotHC gets 5/10 and SoR gets 8/10.

KOTFE started fantastic. Losing your companions, and having to build stuff up from nothing against an unstoppable force felt great. I loved it. I hated the ending. But in the end, I wanted Arcann dead. Even when presented with the option, he didn't die. Which was a huge sour note to an otherwise great expansion. Zakull felt like Coruscant 2.0 and any lore with the Eternal Empire was very interesting and I was all for it. 8.5/10

KOTEE felt rushed. There wasn't any time to breathe, unlike KOTFE until the end. I did like the vehicle combat as well and the battles felt more like battles than killing 3-to 5 enemies in packs. Having swarms of enemies come at me while defending a position was great. But I saw the ending coming from a mile away. I feel like it could have been a little more fleshed out but still, I enjoyed it. All the post-KOTEE stuff was great as well. Great conclusion to this storyline. 7/10.

I have been addicted to this game. I can't put it down. I even had a small stint playing Helldivers 2 with friends, but in the back of my mind, I kept wanting to progress in SWTOR. I know I shouldn't rush it as the end game from what I've heard isn't all that fleshed out, but with the amount of different choices throughout the story, I can see myself making a lot of characters.

SWTOR hooked me. And I don't want it to let go. Now if I can just find a guild that isn't spam inviting people that's fairly active I'll be set.

If you did read all of this, thank you for taking the time to listen to my ramblings. I hope this serves as a mini guide for new players to see how things are after a month of playing. The game is for sure worth playing, and I see myself playing for the foreseeable future. Take care, and may the Force serve you well.

2024.03.03 09:15 it-will-pass Transaksi di LN & tabungan valas

first post here,
halo, as background in general mungkin saya izin cerita sedikit ya; jadi pengetahuan saya mengenai keuangan masih konvensional, selama ini hanya punya debit BCA dan tabungan di digital bank Jago. this year i want to learn and experience more of financial options out there, for example: thinking of applying my first CC (probably BCA JCB & MCxTiket -- gatau bakal lolos apa ngga wkwk) after 3 days reading lots of CC threads here, and did research here and there. so planning to incorporate CC in my daily transaction and less for debit needs
kemudian background lagi utk my main question; tahun ini juga i will have my first trip to Japan (after a decade of not traveling lol). I already gathered that CC BCA JCB prob is a great option for credit transaction in Jp, but others said I better have some cash on me as well. sure, I'll prepare some cash too (prob will visit VIP or further reading which better money xchangers in Jkt), but wondering if I can go with debit transaction in Yen thus this thread title. So far saya ketemu rekomendasinya: Jenius, DBS, OCBC
so the question I haven't found answers for is: which digital bank wins in foreign transaction for traveling and for investing in fx?
inginnya ga hanya utk Yen tapi bisa utk future traveling plans (hence I plan to get BCA MCxTiket too (not aiming for miles bcs I'm not a big spender)) dan mungkin bisa tipis2 nabung valas juga. Banyak yg rekomen Jenius tapi sejujurnya saya kurang percaya sama Jenius wkwkw (dulu pernah punya Jenius tapi udah ditutup sejak ada feesible dan macem2 berita)
so my option lands on DBS or OCBC, any insights? other banks also welcomed (kalau ada yg mau merubah pikiran saya ttg Jenius juga boleh wkwk)
also, if it depends on what countries, I have big dreams of visiting Thai, Europe (esp Spain), UK. others maybe SG, MY, HK, Aus, FYI.
Sorry if my question is weird/broke any rules, but TIA!
edited: barusan kebetulan bgt ada yg nanya juga di app sebelah wkwk, ternyata sebutannya Multicurrency Account ya, jadi punya rekening valas di digital bank. kalo BCA gitu katanya tabungan valas harus dipisah semacam akun BCA IDR & BCA USD gitu, not preferable si

2024.02.28 03:27 MeanCryptographer449 Day 2

Yesterday day xixix I forgot to note here. As usual I wake up, shower and go to school. However, that day was very tiring because I was beaten by a subject that almost everyone doesn't like or really wants to skip, namely mathematics. However, I really liked that day because there was a boarding school at the end of the class period. And I did bad activities like I ran away from extra futsal because I was sick. But even though I was sick, I still played until around 12 o'clock at night. That's what made me forget to write and send my story :), and that's all I rated the story that day (8.5/10).

2024.02.09 04:03 Jco_00 Just found out my "gf" is seeing another dude behind my back. Feel like I've been stabbed in the back and burned.

Tbh this is a continuation of my previous post I made here.
