2024.05.17 09:56 keerthiamyg Side effects of insulin during pregnancy

INTRODUCTION
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a heterogeneous metabolic disorder characterized by a common feature of increased levels of blood glucose (or blood sugar), which over time may lead to serious damage to the nerves, blood vessels, heart, and various organ systems of the body.
The most characterized feature of diabetes is insulin resistance by the Beta cells of the pancreas.
GESTATIONAL DIABETES
  1. One of the types of Diabetes Mellitus is Gestational Diabetes i.e., Diabetes during pregnancy.
  2. About 4% of pregnant women develop DM due to metabolic changes during pregnancy. Although they revert to normal glycemia (normal blood glucose) after delivery, these women are prone to develop DM later in their lives.
OTHER TYPES OF DIABETES MELLITUS
  1. Type 1 D. M:
Type 1 diabetes is a condition that results from an abnormal immune response where certain cells called “T-cells” which are a part of the Beta cells of the pancreas are destroyed. Type 1 diabetes is based on the “gene-environment interaction” model i.e., individuals who are susceptible to certain environmental triggers develop resistance to the activity of Beta cells which in turn results in low or no production of insulin. Type 1 diabetes is strongly influenced by genetic predisposition but it does not follow any particular pattern of inheritance.
  1. Type 2 D. M:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous condition that is characterized by varying degrees of insulin resistance (where insulin rejects synthesis of carbohydrates) and beta-cell dysfunction, Beta cells are those cells that are part of the pancreas that produce insulin. Type 2 diabetes is commonly associated with obesity.
In type 2 diabetes, there are mainly two problems. The pancreas can not produce enough insulin (the hormone that regulates the movement of sugar into the cells). The cells do not respond properly to insulin and synthesize less sugar. Type 2 diabetes used to be known as adult-onset diabetes, but both type 1 and type 2 diabetes can begin during childhood and adulthood. Type 2 is more common in the older generation but due to the increase in the number of children with obesity, more cases of type 2 diabetes are seen in the younger generation.
  1. Other specific types:
Only 10% are affected by this type of D. M and this includes Genetic defects, endocrinopathies, etc.
TREATMENT
  1. Treatment for Gestational diabetes depends on the signs and symptoms of the individual, the age, and the severity of the condition.
  2. To maintain blood glucose levels, medication that lowers blood sugar levels may be given in the form of tablets.
  3. A proper diet has to be followed.
  4. Exercise as prescribed by the doctor.
  5. For higher blood sugar levels insulin is required to be administered.
SIDE EFFECTS OF INSULIN
Increased insulin leads to increased glucose in a baby’s system which may keep the lungs from growing fully. This can cause breathing problems in babies. This is mostly seen in babies born before 37 weeks of pregnancy.
If insulin is given in higher concentration then it may lead to hypoglycemia (decreased blood sugar level) which may lead to loss of consciousness, coma, severe and irreversible brain injuries, or death.
CONCLUSION
While the right doses of insulin have no ill effects on the human body, higher doses can lead to severe conditions that may even result in death. Therefore all insulin dosages have to be prescribed by a qualified physician.

2024.05.17 09:43 DrankeyKrang My best guesses as to the multiple reasons why Banana Guard was chosen

Ok, so obviously people are pretty mad that a free game with a bunch of iconic characters already is launching with one character who isn't highly requested. People are freaking out about how the launch is the most important time for a game's life, and that if there's one singular character that people don't like, the entire game is going to die instantly. So many people are asking, "Why add a character nobody asked for?"
But, hear me out, I actually think this might make sense on a few different levels. I have no idea if any of these reasons were why he was chosen. It's possible that it's a combination of them. But here are the reasons, in no particular order:

Reason 1: He was originally fleshed out in order to be a common enemy in the PvE mode, but ended up so close to playable they just ended up going for it.

This is what I assume lead to the idea in the first place. PvE mode required a bunch of new content, and Banana Guard was part of some campaign. He was already a summonable item in the Beta, which gave them a head start already, but all he really did was run across the stage back and forth. So they had to flesh him out a bit for him to work.
So they gave him a bunch of new animations, a few silly attacks, maybe a couple dodges, maybe they made him playable as part of a developer debug mode to test him out (which is EXTREMELY common, by the way), and realized one day "oh crap, this guy is like 99% of the way to being playable!" They could either leave it or say "fuck it, let's just finish it and put it in the game!"
I assume it was just a really easy character to add at the end of the day, and that he'll end up being a very simple character as a result. Essentially a playable goomba. Which leads to my next guess:

Reason 2: Joke characters are popular in fighting games.

If you watch Adventure Time, you'll know that Banana Guards are basically completely useless. They never do anything cool at all, at any time through the entire show, and end up getting completely decimated nearly in every scene. They're weak, stupid, and totally useless cannon fodder.
So, being weak, and being totally irrelevant, makes them a pretty good candidate for purposefully bad.
It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's a staple of competitive fighting games. Dan Hibiki, Pichu, Roll, Hercule, and dozens more I don't really care to research. Like it or not, there's a huge audience that loves picking the shitty, weak, broken character and styling on their opponent anyway, giving them an additional handicap to overcome. In a way, I really can't think of a better character than Banana Guard for this role. That's practically their role in Adventure Time to begin with.

Reason 3: No Publicity is Bad Publicity.

Whether you agree or disagree, chances are, you've heard this statement. And this outrage, I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of why specifically he was chosen for a relaunch character. We need people talking about the game, so why not have people talk about a totally out-there character? A few clickbait articles about the new character everybody hates? That's a huge new audience that's hearing about Multiversus for the first time, and learning it came back.
This creates controversy, and gets people talking. Talking about Multiversus, creating free word-of-mouth advertising.
Personally I think that's giving WB marketing WAY too much credit, and frankly I don't think they're smart enough to intentionally do that. With all the Banana hints on Twitter, I think it's pretty clear that, regardless of what the community thinks is obvious, THEY truly believe it to be an awesome, hilarious character. That it's just hilarious to play as a Banana in a fighting game.
But intentionally or not, I think it's working. I've seen WAAAAAAAAY more discussion about Banana Guard in the past 6 hours than ANYTHING pertaining to the Joker, who I think we can all agree, is a billion times more popular and iconic. Joker is expected. Banana Guard is controversial.
Which actually leads me to my next guess:

Reason 4: To create Fortnite Brand Confusion, and Capitalize on Popularity of Minions (yes really).

I'm not sure if this reason is genius or stupid. But look at Fortnite. In every single advertisement for the game, EVERY SINGLE ONE, they advertise Peely front and center. He's practically the game's mascot behind Jonesy (the blond guy). And I'm sure kids LOVE Peely, and going around shooting people as a giant Banana Man.
Obviously Banana Guard isn't literally Peely, but I can see them adding him in as a way to attract Fortnite players. "We can't get Peely, buuuuuut we got somebody else pretty close!"
Also I realized when describing Banana Guard from Adventure Time, there's quite a lot of overlap between them and the Minions from Despicable Me. Both are dumb, silly, useless, incompetant Yellow stubby "funny" boneheads. I really wonder if Banana Guard was chosen to be the honorary Minions Rep.

Reason 5: Hype is a Marathon, not a Sprint.

This is why I think, specifically, he's being released on Day 1 (assuming that is, indeed, the case) rather than, say, Dexter or Beetlejuice. Or any other big heavy hitter.
People are panicking right now, so hard, that Multiversus will be "dead on arrival". That it'll die unless it receives 10 Banger new characters day 1.
And I get the fear. Lots of Live Service games die. You need to hook an audience in. But here's what I think: They already did that just fine.
The game's been offline for a year, and their "Mic Test" exploded on the internet. People want this game to just come back. People are chomping at the bit. People spend every single day bitching on this subreddit about them not saying enough, or not coming back fast enough.
People are hyped, but more importantly, they need to STAY HYPED. Not just on launch, but for the next year, and the year after that, and the year after that, and so on.
I get the idea that Multiversus devs should just blow their load entirely and release 10 new banger top-shelf characters on Day 1 to create the biggest Explosion of Hype possible. But they need to save a heavy hitter for 2 months from now, when people are getting bored and need to be hooked into playing for another 2 months with a new rush of players and brand new content, and so on and so fourth. If the Launch is full of excitement and wonder, with trillions of new players hooked and waiting for new exciting content, and the devs are left with their dicks in their hands with nothing to show because they released all their best characters at launch, where does that leave Multiversus? Pretty much exactly where they were at the end of the Beta.
And I don't think Banana Guard is going to bring that hype back, after a few months have passed. I've seen a lot of people say this isn't the time, that adding a joke character like this at launch will tank the game, and they should save a character like this for the "right time", 10 characters or so from now. But the thing is, what if the hype is dying down then? What if Multiversus REALLY needs a boost that, say, Dexter or Daffy Duck or Beetlejuice could provide? But Multiversus already revealed them at the start, and all they have left is Banana Guard waiting to be released? That's not gonna bring people back after 10 months!
The relaunch already has Joker, [INSERT CHARACTER 3 HERE], and the entire Beta Cast, as well as new PVE content. I'd look at Banana Guard as a side-bonus, not a hype-killer. Just the cherry on top of the sundae. Not enough heavy hitters? Just wait a couple months, when the devs will want to add another influx of new players.
Remember, the Beta didn't end because the characters they picked weren't good enough and people didn't stick around (despite what I've seen some people claim). Players left because, after months of characters being released every 2 weeks at a completely unsustainable pace, the Devs ran out of characters and we went an entire season with only Marvin the Martian left. I don't think that would've changed if it was Harry Potter instead, the Beta still would've died either way.

Reason 6: It's just a really, really, REALLY silly fighting game.

Imagine that. Imagine if one of the fighters was a Green Dog that spit fireballs? Or Shaggy, but the meme version where he has DBZ powers? Or Lebron James from Space Jam 2? Or Velma revealing the opposing player is actually Old Man Jenkins in desguise. Or Taz transforming you into a giant cooked chicken that runs around.
Imagine if they released Joker, and gave him a move referencing "I'm the Joker, Baby!" Or if they copyrighted Big Chungus to use as a character probably eventually. Or if they released an advertisement TODAY where Finn and Jake rap and Kevin Controy Batman calls himself a "Queen" with a crown graphic on top of his head. Or if the official Multiversus Twitter and all it's affiliates made non-stop Banana Puns when they were supposed to be advertising the game instead.
Basically...maybe relax?
I'm not saying you aren't allowed to be disappointed that you didn't get a different character. But I think some perspective can help. I think remembering what kind of game this is, always was, and always will be, can help set the tone for this.
This is gonna be the fighting game where Batman can fight Lebron James, Big Chungus, Ultra Instinct Shaggy...and a talking stupid Banana. This is completely 100000% on-brand for the game you signed up for.

2024.05.17 09:38 BlackIvoryPAAC Stuckism, Punk & Heckel's Horse - extract from interview with Other Muswell Hill Stuckist founder

Read the full interview at https://edgeworth.blog/2024/04/27/me-a-doll-interview/
PUG: Jompiy are quite a lot like Damien Hirst’s spin paintings.
EJ: I liked his figurative paintings that Tate didn’t include any of, in that solo show that had virtually everything else he’d ever done. I think Tate will be showing Heckel’s Horse before long.
PUG: What makes you think that?
EJ: It would be poetic. Darth Vadar comes to his senses and everyone’s rescue. There’ll probably be some new maverick Director that comes along and wants to make an easy name for herself.
PUG: How about a Heckel’s Horse Jr. show there instead? I liked the Heckel’s Horse Jr. book.
EJ: Thanks. They’re currently available to all our Fan Club members on Tiers 2 and 3. If someone was interested in finding out more, all they’d have to do is simply visit https://blackivory.org/fan-club/
PUG: Is there anything planned for Heckel’s Horse?
EJ: As far as I can tell, it’s on the back burner till whoever’s in charge decides the time’s right for a show. Billy’s been trying to push things along for years, pretty much since we started doing them.
PUG: You need this new Tate Director.
EJ: We need someone to forcibly step in with the interest, clout and balls to act irrespective of any commercial consequence or fretting what the art world and its clientele think. Like some benevolent Stuckist ex-hedge fund manager who says “Let’s do a show because of all that stuff in the Stuckism manifesto.”
PUG: Like a hostile takeover. Might Heckel’s Horse Jr. being published speed things along for Heckel’s Horse?
EJ: Apparantly the opposite. It might put them off, but whatever. It shouldn’t be all beholden to any audience thing. There needs to be a punk movement in Contemporary Art. Like Black Ivory but slightly more influential. None of this prissy “We’re not allowed to do this, we’re not allowed to do that. The clients might not like this, the clients might not like that.” I don’t know anything about how the art world functions but there’s an obvious staleness and near-universal obedience to it. Then you get things like Stuckism or our semi-Stuckist-splinter-group Black Ivory that, like opt out of the audience as target idea. That are happy to be a disgrace. I think they asked the bass player from the Manics what it was like walking around dressed up in their band gear, round their local working-class mining village in skirts and makeup, and he says “We just wanted to be hated.” I like that about Stuckism and the seemingly repellent and toe-curling bridge-burning stuff we do. The term “target audience” is business talk for a reason. Target audiences are for things like Persil Automatic, not artists. Artists worrying about this stuff is just depressing and I guess is all counter-productive to what they’re after anyway.
PUG: How would it be counter-productive?
EJ: Because it’s like some saggy-headed donkey that’s given up. Part of the shuffling crowd, which is shame if your art isn’t. Not believing in yourself. That’s how it all looks to me anyway. When I see photos of Stuckists prancing around in clown costumes outside Tate it’s so appealing. They’re building walls between themselves and the people everyone else is so desperate to be approved by.
PUG: So can Black Ivory save Contemporary Art?
EJ: We’ll stack a load of six footer Heckel’s Horse Jr. paintings against the walls. A few in the front room with the sofas, tables and chairs and whatnot. I’ll be walking round with a full teapot. Invite some friends round and do it as Stuckism would do it. Leave the evidence on our YouTube channel as Van Goghian proof for future generations that today’s Contemporary Art wasn’t just the text book stuff.
PUG: Stuckism was quite punk influenced but the art world’s still largely what it was beforehand.
EJ: Stuckism bothered. Like leading a horse to water. It’s like even the anti-establishment are only considered successful when the establishment accept them. The Other Muswell Hill Stuckists should do a manifesto about it. Stuckism‘s not for our benefit, it’s for yours. Our “failures” are your problem. We’re waking up and painting either way. We don’t need the art world. We don’t need the Turner Prize to show us what a decent painting looks like. I’m only talking about it not shaking up the artworld obviously, not the work or anything important, but like we’ve both done loads of Stuckist Turner Prize demos, published a Stuckist Turner Prize manifesto, as far as I know, the Turner Prize is still going strong. So what? Did the demos fail? Are our paintings worse now? If nothing else, it’s nice to get out the house. I like the Turner Prize demos because it’s like getting bashed on both sides. By the establishment and the hipsters. Usually it’s like, choose a team: brand A or brand B and kid yourself there’s a difference. The establishment think they’re winning and the hipsters think they’re cool and anti-establishment. Stuckism chooses neither, which I see as the only real anti-establishment. Stuckism‘s failures, if anything, proove its success becuase punk succeeded in it’s non-musical objectives, it became chart music. No chance of Stuckism falling for that one. How’s that for a theory? Failure isn’t failure. Failure’s success because failure’s longevity and success is failure. Stuckism‘s a roaring failure.
PUG: A new punk Tate for Heckel’s Horse.
EJ: I did some assistant work for Jimmy Cauty years ago, on these glittery riot shields. I think around 2016. The tracksuit bottoms still have the gold glitter and PVA stuck to them. I can’t remember if I was talking about Heckel’s Horse or something else, but Billy and I couldn’t have done too many by then. It might have been something else, but I tell Jimmy we’ve done all this work and nothing’s getting published, and he says ‘So, when’s the bonfire?’ The man who burned a million pounds. Ten years later, he we are, same situation. Thankfully, as far as I’m aware, still no bonfire. So overall, things are going great for Heckel’s Horse. All the paintings are still probably in existence.
PUG: Just a lot more of them now.
EJ: I’ve got this image of Heckel’s Horse paintings being taken at night to some secret billionaires island off the South Kent coast and chucked on a blazing fire with a load of men in white suits standing round drinking champagne, each with a cigar between their teeth going ‘Ha! Ha! Fuck you Edgeworth!’
PUG: Then there’d just be the Heckel’s Horse Jr.’s left and you could sell them for millions.
EJ: You’re a genius.
PUG: All those paintings will end up in a show at some point.
EJ: It’s been eleven years. Could be another twenty, thirty. I had this paranoia, they’d pretend they were by Billy and cut my name out. If Billy and I aren’t around. Even if I’m still around, who’s going to listen to me?
PUG: Do you reckon?
EJ: I don’t even know who it was, but some lying fart-face decided it would be alright to pretend these monoprints Billy and I collaborated on would be better sold off as ‘by Billy Childish’ and not by both of us. So that’s what happened. Like a click of the fingers, “Bye bye Edgeworth.” Pretty unimpressive, I thought.
PUG: Didn’t you say anything?
EJ: No, what’s going to happen? Better to say nothing then moan about it ten years later. The way I see it, I’m not the one lying so it’s not my problem. Do you know what I mean? It shouldn’t be on me to object if they’re doing it on purpose.
PUG: So it’s not like Damien Hirst and his assistant’s painting butterflies.
EJ: No. It’s sort of, not wanting to flatter the people that erased my attribution with the idea they’re worth bothering with. Because it’s not like I was upset or felt hard done by. It was just disillusionment in one thing, addressed by the creation of another, Black Ivory Printmaking & Audio Club. If anything it’s a net positve. “So that’s the kind of people you really are. What a fantastic opportunity!”
Damien Hirst’s different. It’s all declared and everyone knows the deal. There’s nothing dodgy about it. It’s not like some slippery gallerist-type shifts the goalposts after the works done, like they’ve got some licence to change the truth. The buyers know what they’re buying, the artists know what they’re doing. These monoprints were a thick painterly transfer technique I came up with and haven’t seen anywhere else. Until I see any that look similar, as far as I’m concerned, it’s a type of monoprint of my invention. And they think they can just sign that away from me. If people see mine now, the ones I did independently using the same technique, they’ll probably think I copied it from Billy, which I think’s quite a liberty. “Taking Berty’s.” as we said at school.
PUG: Didn’t they ask you about it first?
EJ: No, I just get emailed after with some apparent excuse. If you’re some no-name pushover like me, I guess they think it’s alright. It might all have been a lot more innocent than it looked from my end, but if they’re like this with some few hundred quid monoprints, what’s it going to be like with all these crates of 6ft paintings that are worth a fortune? Not exactly reassuring to think of Heckel’s Horse in these people’s hands.
PUG: Welcome to the art world.
EJ: It might end up for the best. A lot of why I started doing Heckel’s Horse Jr. was to get the Heckel’s Horse story out the door. A lots been done already. Billy and I want to get Heckel’s Horse paintings in front of people. Billy‘s spoken about it in interviews that I’ve super-glue-referenced into the Billy Childish wikipedia page. L-13 have done a load of prints. Things are going pretty well. The less behind-the-scenes Heckel’s Horse is, the harder I guess it is for the truth to get fudged later. Especially if Billy and I aren’t around by the time anything happens.
PUG: You’ve always got Jompiy.
EJ: Yeah, my solid backup plan. I don’t need to worry about Jompiy getting nicked.

2024.05.17 09:34 Individual_Age_9294 Leathery dark skin & lesions on dog - What could it be?

Looking to see if anyone has seen this before. What are some potential causes? Current vet hasn't experienced this other than a pet with a hot water injury, so we're waiting to see how it progresses after antibiotics.
Photos of the area: https://imgur.com/a/9ikoVMC
Species: Dog Age: 3 years Sex: Female, spayed Breed: Golden doodle Weight: 11.9kg
Clinical signs (from medical notes): SKIN: L lateral thorax - rectangular area of darkened skin. Caudal aspect of lesion about size of a loon is scabbed with mild amount purulent debris when scab removed. Loon sized lesion there is cellultis and the skin is degraded. 2 darker looking bite/puncture wounds noted on the wound but does not probe.
Duration: Noticed matted fur on Tuesday. Went to brush it on Wednesday and discovered the lesions and dark skin. Location: BC, Canada
Other information: When investigating, small amounts of fur came off easily with slight tugging. On Saturday, there was an altercation with a cat that was aggressive with my dog. It happened quickly so I don’t know exactly what happened but saw the cat try to take a swipe at my dog’s front. Did a physical check but didn’t see anything on her front but didn’t check her sides or back at the time. Not sure if the cat made contact, but that’s my best guess of what this is from.
As per convo with vet, the darkened skin feels leathery. We’re waiting to see how this progresses in the next half week. Abscess might be due to cat, but if it progresses differently… not sure how we’ll proceed at that time.

Lucky Creek Casino Bonus: Welcome Bonus T&Cs Explained

  • Bonus Amount: 200% up to $7,500 and 30 free spins
  • Promo Code: 200GETLUCKY
  • Wagering Requirements: 60x bonus
  • Min/Max Deposit: $20/$3,750
  • Eligible Games: All
  • Expiry Date: None
The Lucky Creek bonus terms are straightforward. If you’re already familiar with online casino bonuses, you’ll have no problems getting to grips with this one. There’s a potential $7,500 up for grabs, which is extremely generous. Not to mention the additional 30 free spins to get you off and running.
You can use your bonus funds to play any game outside of the live casino. The minimum deposit amount of $20 is reasonable, and there’s no need for fiddly opt-ins, as the bonus is credited automatically. However, simply must highlight the wagering requirement of 60x your bonus amount, which is definitely on the high side.

Other Lucky Creek Casino Promotions

The number of accessible Lucky Creek casino bonus codes and promotions varies throughout the year. Look out for extra special offers during holidays, though you’ll usually find at least six or seven rewarding bonuses regardless of the date. Here are some of the standout examples.

Lucky Creek Free Spins

The first promotion to note is a Lucky Creek no deposit offer. Take note that this free spins bonus is only valid for the Golden Wolf slot. In addition, you can only withdraw a maximum of $100 worth of winnings from these bonus spins. Regardless, you can secure 55 Lucky Creek free spins with no deposit required, just by using the promo code NODEPOSITB55.
It’s also possible to earn 66 free spins every Monday by depositing regularly at the end of the week. Make six deposits between Thursday and Sunday, or simply fund your account with at least $200 during this time to qualify.

Lucky Creek Free Chips

While there’s no Lucky Creek casino free chip promotion available presently, there are still many other offers to claim. Should a free chips bonus launch at the casino, we’ll hastily update this page.

Lucky Creek Happy Hour

This offer is promoted as a daily Happy Hour. But despite the name, this is actually a period of four hours, from 6am to 10am EDT every day of the week.
If you’ve made a deposit that day, you’ll gain 50 free spins to use during the Happy Hour. Claim these for seven straight days and you’re also eligible for a prize draw. Potential rewards include free spins, free chips and even a gift basket.

Lucky Creek No Deposit Bonus

If you’re seeking a Lucky Creek casino free chip with no deposit necessary, you’re out of luck. Although there is a promo code NODEPOSITB255 advertised, this is actually a deposit match offer. The code is good for a 255% bonus.

Lucky Creek Loyalty Program

Although it’s not strictly a Lucky Creek casino bonus, the loyalty and VIP program is worth mentioning here. By joining the Genesys Club program, you’ll earn reward points at several online casinos, including this one. There are five tiers in all, with various perks on offer the higher you climb.
For instance, on your birthday, there’s a special deposit match reserved for you if you’re at the Newbie and Bronze levels. However, those at Silver, Gold or Platinum will receive a free cash bonus of $75, $150 and $250, respectively. Other rewards include exclusive invitations to tournaments and events, dedicated customer support and weekly deposit match deals.

Lucky Creek Refer a Friend

Unfortunately, there are no Lucky Creek referral codes available to reward you for recruiting your buddies. If that ever changes, you’ll find out here on this page.

Mistakes to Avoid when Claiming a Lucky Creek Bonus

With so many Lucky Creek promo codes to choose from, it’s crucial that you don’t get confused and make a mistake. Here are some top tips to ensure you get the maximum possible value from your bonuses.
1. Failing to deposit the minimum amount
Deposit match offers require you to add a specific amount of money to your account in order to qualify. You might think you’re getting a 300% bonus on your $10 deposit. However, you’ll actually receive nothing if the Ts & Cs set the minimum amount at $20.
2. Choosing an offer for the wrong games
Many bonuses feature conditions that determine which games you can play. Free spins may be restricted to specific slots, for instance. While a deposit match bonus might exclude live dealer games.
3. Watch out for playthrough requirements
Sometimes called “turnover requirements”, or simply “wagering requirements”, you won’t be able to withdraw money until you’ve met these. There’s usually a multiplier specified, such as 35x the bonus amount. In that example, $700 worth of play is required to clear a $20 bonus.
4. Claiming multiple bonuses
Unfortunately, you can’t juggle several Lucky Creek bonus codes at once. You’re only allowed to claim one welcome bonus, naturally. But if you’re still in the process of clearing the wagering requirements on a bonus, you can’t activate a second promo code.
5. Not depositing enough money
Lucky Creek has a high minimum withdrawal limit of $100. If you deposit a small amount, claim a bonus, clear the requirements and finish with less than $100, you can’t actually withdraw your winnings.
6. Overlooking expiration dates
In most cases, you’ll only have a fixed amount of time in which to meet the wagering requirements of a bonus. What’s more, when you do succeed, the bonus credits awarded may expire in as little as seven days.

  6. You may need to wait 24 hours for the Lucky Creek verification process to complete.

Lucky Creek Casino Withdrawal Process: Rating 7/10

Ready to cash out your winnings? You’ll be pleased to learn that the Lucky Creek casino withdrawal process is quite simple. The minimum amount of $100 is a little high compared to other online casinos, but on the flip side, withdrawal times are comparatively fast.
For the most part, you’ll receive a card payment within 48 hours. Crypto transactions are usually wrapped up in a matter of hours. However, while Lucky Creek withdrawals are processed daily, no payments are made on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. As such, a little patience is required at weekends.
Here’s how to request a payout.
  1. Log into your Lucky Creek account.
  2. Visit the cashier page by clicking on the “Deposit” button.
  3. Complete the verification process, if you haven’t already, otherwise you will not receive any funds.
  4. Click on “Withdrawal” to initiate a payout.
  5. Choose your desired cash out method and follow the prompts on your screen.
  6. If you request a withdrawal before verifying, you must complete that process within 14 days. If you fail to do so, the money will return to your account.

Lucky Creek Casino: Rating 7/10

In this section of our Lucky Creek review, we’ll analyze the various games on offer.

Games Selection

The Lucky Creek game library consists almost exclusively of slots. There are just under 300 to choose from, supplied by developers like BetSoft, Rival, Saucify and Genii. It’s not the biggest collection, admittedly, but there’s a broad enough selection of themes to keep most slots fans satisfied.
While the games here are taken from some respectable software companies, none of the real industry giants are present. Don’t expect to play slots from the likes of Pragmatic Play, NetEnt or Play’n GO, for instance.
If classic table games are more your thing, there’s a small collection of nine RNG titles to choose from. Unfortunately, these are all variations of roulette and blackjack, so it’s not possible to play craps or any form of casino poker. However, there are a dozen keno and video poker titles to enjoy.

Live Casino

There is also a simple live casino on offer at Lucky Creek, with a total of eleven games to choose from. In addition to various forms of blackjack and roulette, you can also play baccarat here.
Although it’s not the most expansive live dealer casino you’ll come across, the games are of the highest quality. They’re provided by Evolution, widely-regarded as the number one supplier of live casino games in the world. Expect charming and professional hosts, along with reliable streams in high definition.
Don’t forget that you’re not allowed to use Lucky Creek bonus codes to play live dealer games.

Casino Features

Lucky Creek is one of the most simple online casinos around. You could argue that “less is more” but we’d still prefer to see the addition of a few key features. It’s not possible to play games in demonstration mode, for example. That is always a great way to familiarize yourself with the rules of a new game.
Although there is a search facility, accessible by clicking the “Open Filters” button, there are no quick links. The ability to easily view titles from a specific provider, or games with certain features, would greatly improve the casino’s design.
As it stands, you can only drill down into the different types of game, i.e. slots, table games, poker or “other”. When the overwhelming majority of the game library is made up of slots, filtering by “slots” doesn’t feel especially useful.

Lucky Creek Poker: N/A

Lucky Creek is a trusted online casino, however its poker selection is too limited to warrant a fair evaluation. While it offers a handful of video poker titles, you cannot play games like Texas Hold’em or Omaha in tournaments or cash games.
We hope that Lucky Creek expands its poker category in the future, and when it does, you can expect to find a thorough review here.

Lucky Creek Sportsbook: N/A

Lucky Creek is just an online casino, meaning there is no sportsbook available. Should the situation change in future, we’ll be the first to update you.

Lucky Creek Payment Methods: Rating 8/10

There aren’t as many payment methods at Lucky Creek compared to the best gambling sites, but the needs of most players will be met. Crypto deposits and withdrawals are a very welcome addition, even if there are no eWallet options.
Payment Method Deposits Withdrawals Fees Payout Speed
Visa None Up to 5 days
Mastercard None Up to 5 days
Bitcoin None Same day
Money Transfers N/A N/A
Wire Transfers N/A N/A
Cheques N/A N/A
ACH Transfer N/A N/A

Lucky Creek Design and User Interface: Rating 7/10

It’s fair to say that Lucky Creek isn’t the prettiest of casinos, with its predominantly brown color scheme. It’s a simple but fairly effective design, which is identical on both mobile and desktop, ensuring seamless transitions between devices.

Desktop Experience

Everything you need to steer your way around the site is found in a classic navigation menu on the left-hand side of the page. A few additional options, including information about responsible gambling, can be found by scrolling to the site’s footer. Overall, the site functions adequately to appease users.

Mobile Experience

Whether you’re using the mobile site in your browser, or mobile-based casino apps, the design is indistinguishable. This applies to both the overall look-and-feel, as well as the practical aspects like the registration and withdrawal processes.

Lucky Creek Customer Support: Rating 9/10

In the unlikely event of a problem, getting in touch with the customer support team is a doodle. There are three accessible channels, all of which are staffed 24/7, and you’ll find the agents really pleasant to deal with.
We reached out via live chat and asked several questions, including some about the terms and conditions of the Lucky Creek no deposit bonus. All of our queries were resolved promptly and the support agent was extremely friendly.

Lucky Creek Licensing & Responsible Gambling: Rating 9/10

Like many respectable online gambling companies based offshore, Lucky Creek has a license from the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. As such, you can rest assured that a trusted regulator is observing the business, ensuring that it’s carrying out industry best practices.
This means your funds are safe, the games are fair and there are several responsible gambling tools available if you require them. These are as follows:
  • Daily deposit limits
  • Monthly deposit limits
  • Self-exclusion

2024.05.17 09:30 relationshipguy254 Is It Okay to Feel Physically Disgusted When You Look at The Abuser And Liar?

Today, I want to tackle the question of why you often feel disgusted when you see your abuser or your abusive ex. It's like an instinctual reaction when you lay eyes on them, and suddenly you're hit with this intense feeling of disgust. You might see them on social media or in person, but you still have this disgusting feeling. It's like your body's saying "ugh!" and you might even feel like throwing up. But why does this happen?
The primary reason for feeling disgusted when you see your abuser is that it triggers feelings of self-disgust. You recall moments of pain and mistreatment with them. When you see them, it's a reminder of the trust you placed in them, the intimate moments you shared, and how they betrayed that trust. Seeing them brings back memories of what they subjected you to, leading to self-blame, self-criticism, and feelings of regret for trusting them in the first place.
It's more like stirring the pot of stuck emotions and sensations within you. Their mere presence serves as a catalyst, reigniting all the unresolved feelings and memories tied to the abuse. You're suddenly confronted with a flood of questions and doubts about yourself, questioning why you didn't leave sooner, why you ignored the warning signs, and why you allowed yourself to stay in such a harmful situation. These thoughts primarily blame you for staying, intensifying the feelings of self-disgust when you encounter them.
That's also the silver lining in all of this because when you feel that disgust, it indicates that there's still something within you that needs addressing. It's a signal that there's lingering self-hatred or negativity stemming from the past experiences with your ex. However, by confronting and working through these negative emotions, you can reach a point of indifference. You'll still feel disgusted when you see them, but it will be more about their behaviors rather than internalizing it as a reflection of yourself.
It's more like... you're thinking, "Who behaves like that?" It's a moral kind of disgust, directed at their actions rather than yourself. Initially, though, it might feel like self-disgust because you're reflecting on yourself in relation to them, remembering all the things they subjected you to. This triggers unresolved wounds and painful experiences you haven't fully processed yet.
But as you heal, seeing them might still evoke a bit of disgust, but it's not about the unresolved issues within you anymore. Instead, it's a moral disgust toward their behavior. It's crucial to recognize these feelings when you encounter your abuser and view them as opportunities for growth. Releasing these emotions will make you feel lighter and you will grow and recognize tour strengths. So, while feeling physically disgusted or wanting to puke when you see them is normal, it's a sign of triggering new emotions or reminding you of past experiences that still need processing.

2024.05.17 09:10 platanomelon Question about the unforgivable sin

A few weeks ago, I asked a question related to the unforgivable sin and many people commented that Jesus never stated that no matter how much you tried to repent you won’t be forgiven meaning that if they repent, it would’ve been a sign that they didn’t commit the unforgivable soon, but why does Jesus says that those who commit guilty of an eternal sin in Mark 3:29?

2024.05.17 08:54 Virtual-Pea1506 If you have a product I built this (on nocode) to help

Hey everyone. I recently launched an affiliate program. I was very much in the mindset of, "If I build it, they will come". I was wrong. So I built Indie Affiliate to help small teams and solo devs like me get eyeballs on their affiliate offer.
It's free to submit your product if you have an affiliate program. You don't even need to sign up.
If you want extra exposure I interview founders for the blog. Happy to link to whatever you are working on via an Async interview.
I usually use Bubble.io for apps or Softr.io for directories (generous free plan with custom domain).
For this I used UnicornPlatform.com - Probably the easiest way to launch a directory that looks good quickly.
Just went live on ProductHunt.

2024.05.17 08:38 ravedeath1917 Kommunistisches Programm – National Revolution and Downfall of Cambodia (1980)

https://libriincogniti.wordpress.com/2021/02/25/kommunistisches-programm-national-revolution-and-downfall-of-cambodia/
The Events after the Fall of Phnom Penh and the Programme of Khieu Samphan, the Peasantry and the Enablers of Capital
With the end of the Indochina war in 1975, not much remained of Cambodia’s economy either. More than half of the rice fields lay fallow, and the few industrial enterprises, the port facilities in Kampong Som, the railway lines and the bridges had been destroyed by US bombs. Although the figures are not unambiguous, their magnitude alone shows what heavy blood sacrifice imperialism also demanded of this people: In the five years of war, around 800,000 people were killed, more than 40,000 were maimed, almost 200,000 were wounded.
The constant flow of refugees inflated the capital from its original population of around 600,000 to over 3 million, meaning that by the end of the war almost half of the Khmer people were crammed into their metropolis. As is well known, the imperialist world press howled in horror and disgust when it learned of the forced exodus of this human aggregation. The US bombardment drove people from the countryside into the cities – the revolutionary nationalists had to force them back. Both actions were cruel and devastating for those affected, because both times they happened under terrible conditions, the first time under the imperialist hail of bombs and the coercion of its local police, the second time under the pressure of hunger and the state coercion of the newly installed revolutionary patriotic power. But for the imperialist propaganda machine there were no connections here. Of course, it only saw the terror of the Khmer Rouge, so supposedly of Communism. Here again was a wonderful opportunity to play out the bourgeois farce of humanism and love of one’s neighbour to the full. No mention of the mass murders in the imperialist war against the Southeast Asian peoples, no mention of the unspeakable destruction of these only weakly industrialised agrarian societies. These sacrifices were noticed at most when the insane war spending of the USA threatened to drag the entire imperialist West into the vortex of economic problems as a result of the currency crises caused by it. After all, to this day, these gentlemen are consistently proud of their efforts to preserve “freedom”.
Cambodia became the main object of these friends of mankind over the next few years. Here, indeed, all cherished values and conceptions were thrown overboard. A state without money, without postal services, without cars and motorbikes, without public transport, without telephones, television, books and the cities extinct. Only “communists” could have committed this crime; as is well known, they can be trusted with anything inhumane and in Cambodia they truly acted as the incarnation of “darkness” and “evil”. What was perpetrated before in the name of the heroes of “light” and “reason” – not a word about that, of course. It was a central organ of the imperialist offensive on the human intellect – Reader’s Digest – that first announced in 1977 that at least 1.2 million people had been murdered in the two years since the fall of Phnom Penh. Ever new figures were quickly added, which journalists claimed to have learned from the numerous refugees. It is not necessary to assume that all these reports were forgeries, because in fact the Khmer Rouge set an extremely radical course from the beginning, which certainly brought much horror, misery and also deaths. But today’s sated imperialists should perhaps sometimes look at the history books: What misery, what terror, what torment against the population is archived there – and that over centuries. The French Revolution also produced at least 100,000 deaths in the most important four years – and it did so with a machine specially designed for the purpose. It was not by chance that it was the steam engine and the guillotine that inaugurated the industrial age in a revolutionary way. But do the distinguished British gentlemen, who even then scoffed at these butchers in Paris, have fewer lives on their consciences? Those who still don’t know have to have it written on their cheat sheets all the time: The establishment of bourgeois rule has always been brutal and extremely bloody. The destruction of the traditional smallholder form of economy, the annihilation of small-scale trade and crafts always passed over those affected like a merciless steamroller. And under unspeakable tortures, the majority of these people who were expropriated without compensation were pressed into the factories and, if necessary, forced by brutal violence to slave as many hours of their day as possible for the lowest possible wages. All that was not so long ago. But it is always amusing how hastily today’s representatives of capital pretend that these are youthful sins of foreign predecessors. And this process of constant dressing for factory labour, of the destruction of both man and nature, continues both in depth and in breadth. It will only come to an end when this capitalist basis has been revolutionarily annihilated because of the contradictions it constantly produces.
...
However, if one wants to understand the “mysterious” processes in Cambodia, one has to be clear above all about the material and social conditions. A devastated country that was still largely worked by small peasants; a chaotically bloated capital city to which the majority of these same peasants had fled. The terror of the bombs had charged this population, once peaceful and living in the eternal grind of farm labour, with fear, but above all with unbridled rage and blind hatred. Hatred against the city in which they had to take refuge, anger against the American bombers which destroyed their existence, but particularly anger against their own corrupt aristocracy, the military as well as the city dwellers in general who sought to prolong their raison d’être by making a pact with imperialism. Now the old mixture of foreignness, subservient spirit and unease found its general discharge in a primal hatred of the rural population for their oppressors in the cities. A frenzy of revenge arose, which certainly accounted for most of the brutalities in the first year of liberation.
In order to understand this social side of this revolution in Cambodia, which gave it the ferocious expression of blood, revenge and chaos that one encounters in practically every revolution carried out mainly by peasants, one must always bear in mind the social structure already described. The strong urban-rural divide was not between agriculture and industry – the latter was practically non-existent – but it was the extreme contrast between agriculture and all the ominous trades that bourgeois statistics usually classify under the heading of “services”. Here, actually “unproductive” administration and trade – moreover, predominantly created and nourished in the service of imperialism – and “productive” agriculture faced each other. Of the “peace population” in Phnom Penh of about 600,000, this included about 200,000 Vietnamese and over 100,000 Chinese, out of a total of about 800,000. So the Cambodians did not even make up the majority of the population in their capital. Aristocracy and officials on one side, poor peasants on the other, too poor to make a living in the countryside, coming to the city because they hoped for a job, or later bombed into it. Cambodians were almost completely excluded from the trade and merchant sectors. These sectors were mainly in the hands of the Chinese and Vietnamese.
In this approaching whirlwind of social unrest on the part of the peasants, which is growing in strength, another social force tries for its survival. Young intellectuals, most of them educated in Paris, the educational centre of the former colonial ruler, want to break the corrupt tangle of local aristocracy and foreign power by force. Without any reservoir in the own ranks of the urban bourgeoisie, for the latter is practically non-existent and if it is, then hardly to be enthused for nationalist accumulation programmes with a more rigorous cut; without a proper bourgeois class, these petty-bourgeois radicals lead a practically hopeless struggle for change. Forced very soon into the rural underground by Sihanouk’s authoritarian regime, they try to implement their programme of industrialisation based on agriculture with the help of the only social class that counts – namely the rural population, the small peasants and farm workers.

One simply has to quote these illuminating passages of the Khmer Rouge’s “chief ideologist” at length, because after all the imperialist wailing, one probably does not think it possible that these “monsters” can think at all. (A Trotskyist group, persistent in its obtuseness, even opined that these “monsters” were the embodiment of… a return to feudalism!) One thing is immediately quite clear: these petty-bourgeois intellectuals, widely referred to as Marxists, communists, etc., are never ever in the tradition of the “German” Karl Marx, but of the German Friedrich List, who, under the slogan “Freedom is the goal, limitation is the necessity”, set his protectionist credo against the imperialist ideology of the free traders in the last century. The Khmer Rouge leaders are thus spiritual sons of the ancestors of today’s imperialists, those imperialists who now see in them the personified devil of communism, although they only wanted to be flesh of their flesh.
These views of Samphan and thus the leaders of the Khmer Rouge were also quoted at length because they are so popular today. In the face of the growing exploitation of the countries of the so-called Third World by Western imperialism, theories are emerging everywhere that vehemently propose the same position of “cutting off” the “underdeveloped” countries from the dominance of the world market ruled by Western capital as a panacea. And it is certainly no coincidence that one of the main representatives of these academic “revolutionaries”, the Egyptian Samir Amin, raves about the radicalism of the Khmer Rouge even after their expulsion and predicts a chain of new “Kampucheas” for the African future. Against the massive reality of the increasing internationalisation of capital and the growing global control of Western and increasingly Eastern imperialism, such “progressive” petty-bourgeois theorists place their faith in autarky, national accumulation and so-called autocentric development. Against the capitalist propaganda of progress and prosperity through freedom of trade and capital investment, which in reality in fact produces nothing but growing pauperisation and exploitation, the Good News on the other side says: Only if one can free oneself from imperialism at least for as long as it takes to be able to develop one’s productive forces independently, only then will one achieve prosperity and security for humanity.
In this respect, both sides represent only two sides of the same coin. Both claim to be able to achieve “the greatest happiness for the greatest number” within the framework of and through capitalism – as the forefather of these bourgeois tendencies, Adam Smith, already formulated this elementary lie of capital.
...
The utopians of capital have to acknowledge time and again that, contrary to their proclamations, the social antagonisms both within the “developed” and “underdeveloped” countries and between these countries are becoming increasingly acute. And while capitalism is pushing the development of the productive forces ever more sharply in order to satisfy its insatiable hunger for surplus value, it is precisely because of this highly productive technology that it is less and less able to transform the pauperised masses into active proletarians, i.e. to force them to the machines or into the office. While the imperialists, in their frenzied mania for surplus value, are at least throwing the whole world into growing unrest and undermining ancestral immobile relations ever more thoroughly, the heralds of an apparently radical autarky are causing nothing but confusion in the ranks of the pauperising masses. They talk of economic independence, stable economic cycles and adapted technology – all concepts that really bring out their illusionist anachronism.
And to see Cambodia of all places as a concrete approach or even an example for the feasibility of such utopias seems almost tragicomic in view of the results that are now available. But it is also a total misreading of the factual development under the Pol Pot government. Demonisation and idealisation of the Khmer Rouge have the same basis. They assume that the measures taken after the conquest of power in Cambodia were deliberate and planned. One side sees only the terror and coercive measures with which the leaders, supported by relatively small armed forces, tried to get a grip on a witch’s cauldron of panic and violence and to escape the total catastrophe of starvation – and the chaos that would ensue in turn. They see this terror and these coercive measures as completely detached from the economic and social emergency. The others confuse the factual state of extreme social backwardness in Cambodia and the emergency measures taken with an economic and social programme.
...
We have outlined the devastating situation in Cambodia shortly before the moment of liberation. However broad and deep the peasant unrest in the countryside may have been at the time, it must be remembered that a large proportion of these peasants stayed in the capital out of necessity during the main phase of the fighting. In any case, the Khmer Rouge, hardly more than 70,000 men anyway, fought for a long time mainly in the sparsely populated outskirts of Cambodia.
When the Khmer Rouge troops approached the capital in 1975 – likely with only about 20,000 men – it soon became clear that it was imperative to deal radically with this hopelessly bloated big head. Estimates vary, but it can be assumed that of the 7-8 million Cambodians, at least 2.5, but probably over 3 million were crammed into the capital (“peace population” as mentioned 600,000). With the severing of the umbilical cord to imperialism, Phnom Penh was up in the air as its former bridgehead. There was no possibility whatsoever to control or even feed this veritable hell of collaborators and starving refugee masses. The general shortage of rice had driven prices to dizzying heights: from 10 riel per kilo in December 1971 to 125 riel in December 1973 and on to 300 riel in early 1975, reaching a record 340 riel in mid-February. The retreat of the imperialists and the advance of the Khmer Rouge must have acted as a double signal: On the one hand, to storm against the hated parasites and the urbanites in general, on the other hand, to return to the countryside in chaos. The Khmer Rouge had to evacuate the city and channel the returning flow to avoid a total catastrophe. The fact that the displaced people left a wide trail of blood behind them on their way out of the city (for the time of the Khmer Rouge government, there is consistent talk of at least 1 million deaths) was unavoidable under the given conditions. It is significant that the majority of the massacres affected the urban population and certain national minorities: precisely intellectuals, military officers of the old Lon Nol regime, Sihanoukists, capitalists, merchants etc., and apart from the Cham (Muslims) almost exclusively the Vietnamese and Chinese minorities, whose social situation we have already pointed out.
Whether it was spontaneous peasant terror or executions organised by the Khmer Rouge, it was partly revolutionary violence against the supporters of the old regime, which as such does not speak against but for the Khmer Rouge, and partly pogroms, which the leaders at most accepted and tried to direct in the interests of the state monopoly on the use of force. But it is not so important whether the Khmer Rouge leaders had to accept or order these massacres. What is decisive is that they were forced by material development to eliminate or to have eliminated precisely those strata on which they wanted to rely. This, together with the evacuation of the cities, deprived them of any social support other than the peasantry. Thus they were at the mercy of this peasantry, which had to be disciplined for the actualisation of their “programme”. The conflict with it was therefore programmed for the time after the famine had been averted.
...
After the worst of the chaos had been overcome, it was attempted to use these structures, which had prevailed in a rather primitive way during the hunger phase, for one’s “industrialisation programme” by maintaining and further intensifying collectivisation. Necessity was to become a capitalist virtue. The complete lack of such “civilisational” achievements as the intercourse of money and commodities was supposed to make for an ideal, indeed classic, “truck system”, i.e. payment in kind alone. The peasants were forced into ever new production battles, because now surpluses were to be produced for export – i.e. for exchange with foreign means of production – which indeed happened and animated the leaders even further. The general command was under the iron slogan: “Work hard and try to achieve maximum results with a minimum of investment”, and the focus was on absolute labour effort.
...
Once a sufficient level of production had been restored, however, the whole construction was bound to collapse completely sooner rather than later. Anyone who has even a pale inkling of the travails of the infamous Stalinist collectivisation in Russia – and the Russian state was on an incomparably higher social level and had quite different means of power at its disposal – can easily imagine how the intellectual would-be enablers of capitalism in Cambodia, then practically hanging in the air, would have to perish in an orgy of violence – unless, with the help of a foreign power, they could get a grip on the chaos and create more stable conditions through a series of concessions to the peasantry. Most likely, however, they would be finished even then, like a man trying to hold on as long as possible to a wildly thrashing bull and then falling to the ground exhausted. In any case, the arena crowd was already eagerly awaiting the outcome of the tragedy.
...
Sovereignty, neutrality, non-alignment – this credo runs through all declarations as a complement to “autarky”. But already in the face of the first offensive by the Vietnamese, it must have slowly become clear to the Khmer Rouge leaders that these fine words could only have one meaning in our unpleasant world, namely to place themselves under the protection of the People’s Republic of China. In Pol Pot’s interview, which we have just quoted, a strange acronym appears: CPK. This means “Communist Party of Kampuchea”. And yet, to the boundless amazement of bourgeois commentators, the Khmer Rouge had never tried to dress up their declarations or their constitution with Marxist or pseudo-Marxist vocabulary – which is certainly very sympathetic to us. On the contrary, they have displayed an obvious and pedantic aversion to these concepts. Neither “vanguard of the proletariat” or “communist party” nor “proletarian internationalism”, neither “classless society” nor “dictatorship of the proletariat”, but also not “new democratic revolution”, “mass line”, “creation of a new man”, “peaceful coexistence” etc. etc. had ever been spoken of. If similar contents had to be expressed, they were paraphrased with other words. But this did not happen because the Pol Pot folks would have been particularly honest and wanted to do us Marxists a favour. This happened because in their dogged nationalism they wanted to distance themselves clearly from their neighbours Vietnam, but also China, who professed to be “socialist”. The national character of all these revolutions and states, the national character of their confrontations and of their whole politics is expressed even in the fact that the weakest link feels compelled by the instinct of self-preservation to dispense with the “Marxist” or “socialist” cloak for the capitalist programme! This is what “socialism in one country” has come to! And the adoption of the “Marxist” “vocabulary” here is a sign of the surrender of the so sacred national sovereignty. If, as already mentioned, no announcement had ever mentioned a party or revolutionary phases (there was always talk of a “revolutionary organisation” and even of “Angkor traditions”), Pol Pot told his astonished people and all those who wanted to know the following story on 27 September 1977: the CPK had already existed in Cambodia since 30 September 1960 and had achieved this miracle of a national-democratic revolution. He told it the day before he left for Beijing, on which, fighting a losing battle against the Vietnamese, he has been completely dependent ever since.
As a “plaything of foreign powers”, the nationalist intellectuals of Cambodia perished. The peasantry, largely decimated under the pressure of the imperialist frenzy and its consequences, as now under the pressure of Vietnam’s national expansion, is an example of the fate that capitalist society reserves for small and weak peoples in its emergence and development. To such peoples the proletariat alone would and will secure the right of self-determination, because unlike the bourgeoisie it does not seek national privileges but wants to abolish them, because unlike the bourgeoisie it can create voluntary union, because unlike the bourgeoisie it liberates itself not by exploiting others but by abolishing all exploitation.

My main account u/AhnoldStuff, got hijacked some time ago, and I only recently found out when I tried logging in. I used the "sign in through Google" option, which still seems to work, even though the email linked to the account has been changed. The account has now been suspended/banned, and the only fix is to change the password, but I can't because the password resets are being sent to an email which isn't mine (and which I never got a notification of it being changed to). I've made 2 support tickets, it's been quite a few days already since I made the first one. Can I get some help.
