I had a first date afte a week on exchanging chats on a dating app. He said he was born in the country we migrated to during text on the dating app. But upon first meeting, he then told me that I have a very strong accent and giggling. I responded back so do you (he doesn't have Aus Accent). I told him where did you born? he said in Asia. But told me it was in Aus.
During the date, he told me that his surname and I told him mine because the context led to that from the country I'm from. I kinda go with it and he said he is looking for a serious relationship and wanted to know if I have the same goal in mind. I told him I date to marry.
I found out later that it his surname is different from his profile. I casually asked him, what was your surname again? He told me that we can exchange our surname during the second date (a week later). But I cannot wait for that long, I told him "oh it is blah blah" and he said that's right it is what my surname is.
I gave him a chance for second date. During the conversation, I asked him can we exchange fb. He reluctantly say "maybe not now" then changed his mind later on. I said your surname is different than what you told me. He insist that it is his surname. And I said is that your surname on papers? He said no. He said sorry I shouldn't lie about that.
During dates, he is a type of guy that talks about the future of us, like budgeting, marriage, and all that. But not much asking about what I like and dislikes. I asked him, "Can we talk about something else rather than the future" Like those common questions about getting to know each other. His response was, "I accept who you are and no need to asked questions about that" Whenever we text in between dates, he just seen my message and reply when its convenient to him (For example: Morning text seen then he replied to that message in the afternoon).
Fast forward, I told him that I need to talked to him as I'm reflecting that I think he is not yet ready to have a romantic relationship, and I felt that lying is not good (surname, suburb, and grew up here). All those white lies. He told me he will call me everyday, and he did only once.
Fast forward to 4 months, we broke up because he keeps lying and gives me excuse on why he doesn't reply to my texts that fast. But online on social media.
The last excuse was he forgot his phone for the whole day and he felt sorry. I blocked him after reading that lame excuse and never look back.

I have been working on a collaborative project that includes two more friends. Since we needed someone to work on some illustrations, we started suggesting people we know. One of the team members said she had a friend who could do it, but there's no money involved and she wasn't going to do it for free, so she wasn't chosen. We needed someone who believed in the project and wanted to do it just for the experience. Since I knew my BFF's ex had the profile we were looking for, I asked him if he wanted to help us. I knew this guy before her, but he wasn't my friend. In fact, he was my student at university. He said yes, and I introduced him to the team. The team liked him so much and he was accepted almost immediately. That happened two days ago. Today, I saw my BFF and told her what was happening. I didn't tell her before because I hadn't seen her. To be honest, I thought she wouldn't mind, but she was not happy. She looked angry and sad at the same time.
To give more context. My friend broke up with her boyfriend 2 years ago, and she has been dating another person for a year. She looks happy with him, so I thought she wouldn't care so much about the ex. If the ex had been abusive or a bad person, I wouldn't have considered working with him, but they broke up because they wanted different things in life. He didn't cheat on her, he just wasn't ready for the things she wanted. They kept seeing each other for a while after that. They were friendly, respectful with each other. Suddenly, she started avoiding him because she wanted to forget him. She didn't see him for a year and then, she started dating another man. I had no reasons to think she would feel bad about him working on a project she has nothing to do with. I just wanted her to know because she is my friend and not because I needed permission.
I asked her why she was so unhappy with this and she said that he had been appearing in her social circles so much, that he was talking to people she likes and spending time with them. She hates the idea of seeing him around people and places she loves. I understand she feels that way, but at the same time, I promised her she wouldn't have to see him around me because the team is working online. The collaboration doesn't require face to face contact. We can do everything remotely.
I asked her if she wanted me to fire him, and she told me "do whatever you want, but I don't want to hear about him and if your project succeeds, I will not to go to events, presentations, etc." She told me she didn't want to see his name nor see his illustrations in my project. She also told me I am doing "weird things" and she doesn't like it when I do weird things. I know I am not a normal person, but Am I the asshole?

So I was in CBSE from nursery to class 10th. I got 82.6% in 10th. My parents were happy until they got to know that everyone has scored good in boards. They told me that I couldn't even score 60% in 12th boards if I chose CBSE after 10th and forcefully admitted me in state board. They also had no hopes of JEE from me because my elder sister couldn't do it even after spending 3 lakhs on her coaching classes, so they chose a local cheap coaching for me just so that I can clear cet. The coaching was shit and wasted my 2 years. No one from our coaching cleared JEE cutoff till date. Not even reserved ones. When I tried to study, i couldn't understand shit. But I knew it was too late to switch boards again and my parents wouldn't. Just when I started to understand some of that HSC board shit I got ill and had to spend 1 week at the hospital and 2 months at home for recovery as I lost 9-11 kgs and was suffering from typhoid and kidney infection. Then when I recovered from that and started going to coaching again I couldn't understand anything. Already the HSC board was new for me and in that too I lost my 2 months and had to join from middle. I didn't understand a thing because I joined from middle of the term. From that moment till my exams I didn't feel like studying. I fcked up in JEE and I don't have many hopes for CET. I don't know what to do of me now. I feel useless. My parents had some hopes from me of CET atleast. And I won't take drop in any situation. I just wanted to share this with you to lighten my heart. Its no secret that the survival horror genre of gaming has been slowly rising in popularity since the mid 2010’s with games like Dead By Daylight from ’16 which reportedly reached at least 25 million players back in 2022. Also, Dying Light 2: Stay Human was without a doubt one of the most popular video games of 2022 a year that paled in comparison to 2023 in relation to high profile video game releases. Even though, the Silent Hill series had seemingly reached its peak in popularity back in 2000’s this new title Silent Hill f could has the potential to revive the franchise. Also, if Silent Hill f ends up being a masterpiece it has the potential to help the survival-horror genre back on the map since most casual gamers are already familiar with the legendary franchise. As it currently stands there has been no official gameplay trailer for Silent Hill f and we have no official release date for the game at the moment. However, the gaming world is looking forward to learn more about Silent Hill f sometime in 2024. The Return to Silent Hill movie is expected to be released in theaters sometime 2024 and the potential success or failure of the film could end up affecting the interest that people have in the franchise itself going forward. We do not have too many high profile psychological survival-horror games in this day and age that matches the likes of Silent Hill 2 from 2001. I’ve been posting on and off for a few years now and I’m sure some of you are sick of seeing me. Oh well, we’re in this sub for one reason and one reason only: to find a connection and possibly a happy ending.
I’ve been told I’m too picky and too open about myself; I don’t think Im either of these things. We all have different tastes and expectations from other people and that’s fine. And yes, I am very open about who I am, shouldn’t we all be? Would save us some disappointment.
I did try numerous dating sites and chatrooms but to no avail; those whove been in the same situation know what’s that like. I have a fair share of horror stories from dating apps and who knows, one day I could share these with you!!

This is not to get any attention or sympathy or help; more of a prewarning. I have met a lot of amazing people on here who got their hopes up about me and once things didn’t seem to be as amazing as this image, they had of me they left.
I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 12, as well as severe anxiety (no self-diagnosis here, by an actual professional). I take meds for it but some days are worse than the others. I’m also on the waiting list to get help, but like me you’re in the UK you’ll know what this is like (no issues with the NHS, they’re amazing; just overworked and understaffed). I can’t afford to go privately. At this moment in time,I am about 2 years away from seeing someone.
I suffer from fibromyalgia (if you don’t know what this is, just google it) in late 2019 after ruling everything out. I have days when I’m extremely exhausted and in a lot of pain. I still go to work and try to go on about my life as much as possible but please bear that in mind.
Ive been taking all sorts of meds too, including painkillers to control the pain.
Please don’t see me as someone hopeless or feel sorry for me. This is not the point of this confession.

I don’t need to get out of my shell, so none of that please. I like my own company as well as my loved ones; and leaving the house only for work and groceries suits me well.
I’m a vegetarian (not a deal breaker if you’re not; your choice is to eat meat and mine isn’t. Respect it and you shall receive the same back). I think it’s time for everyone live and let others live too.
Tea, coffee and snack addict! (I love herbal tea with no sugar or milk; coffee wise I like a good cap or a caramel macchiato as a treat. Snack wise anything goes really. Fruit, crisps, cake and sweets!)
Bookworm (I haven’t read in a long time, I love books I promise. Just haven’t had much time lately. I have a stack of them which is growing. I need to finally find some time and immerse myself in one of many crime novels I have).

Animal lover (I have 4 rescued cats two boys and two girls aged between 10-11 who are my absolute life. In total, my mum and I have rescued about 60 cats in the last 10 years. We found them safe and loving homes but for some of them unfortunately it was too late).
No addictions here (I don’t drink or smoke; although I like my vapes a lot).
In my spare time (whatever I get of it) I like to go for walks, listen to music and podcasts, nap, watch tv, chill with my mum and cats, go shopping and grab a coffee with my ma, visit my brother in London, over eat, over think and read books.
I don’t really have any hobbies.
I don’t game religiously but I do enjoy sims 4 (someone told me that isn’t gaming although I’d say it’s a computer game so clues in the name but what do I know, right?) I don’t watch anime either, tried once and couldn’t get into it.

About a month ago, I (38M) was diagnosed with a rare, slow growing neuroendocrine tumor (carcinoid) in my appendix which was discovered during an appendectomy. We have no data to suggest that 100% of the tumor was not removed during the appendectomy: the margins were clear and from a statistical perspective, the majority of people with a tumor the size of mine (~1cm) are cured by appendectomy alone.
However, there were some other findings that cloud the picture. The primary tumor was not growing quickly and had a Ki-67 index of 2%, which is compatible with grade 1 (good for me). Despite this, the tumor had almost broken through the appendix wall, showed signs of perineural invasion, mesoappendix invasion and lymphovascular invasion. (To be honest, only the last thing means much to me but I know it’s bad). Because of these attributes, the tumor was assigned a primary tumor stage of T3. Only one lymph node was dissected but no tumor cells were found there (N0) and there was no distant metastasis (M0). All three of these stages indicate an overall cancer stage group of IIA. My case was reviewed by the tumor board at the GI center at the local med school and they recommended further surgery to prevent possible metastasis of any cancer cells that remain. This surgery, known formally as a right hemicolectomy would remove the ascending portion of my colon. My rectum and anus would be unaffected and I would (in a sense) still use the toilet normally. From the literature, many people report more diarrhea, looser stools and sometimes fecal incontinence after the procedure, but it seems peoples experiences can vary greatly. I will add that the idea of having these challenges as a single person scares me quite a bit. Pooping my pants on a date seems very non-ideal and I’d really like to find someone to spend my life with.
The other compounding factor is that while the 5 year survival rate for neuroendocrine appendiceal tumors is luckily quite high (90% or so if there is only local spread) there is no approved radiation therapy or chemotherapy. My scientific understanding of this is that since the growth rate of these tumors is slow compared to other cancers, they grow at similar rates to normal healthy tissue. This makes cytotoxic chemotherapies that target rapidly dividing cells ineffective: the only treatment that would kill the tumor, would kill you just as fast. There are some therapies that can inhibit tumor growth (somatostatin I think?), but the tumors never shrink in size. Since there is no chance to completely kill the tumor, one appears to be left with the unavoidable outcome of living the rest of your life with cancer if surgery doesn’t work. And significantly, the survival rates for metastatic neuroendocrine tumors appear to be far less rosy than if they are caught early. I woke up the other night and sat straight up in bed to catch my breath thinking about that.
I am really wrestling with the idea that the surgeons are recommending a procedure, which will undoubtedly degrade my quality of life to some degree, and from a statistical point of view, is not expected to find any tumor cells. It seems that the oncologists view the surgery as insurance for me (and frankly for them). I get it, but…like…come on.
