Before anyone points out, yes, I just wanted to make an ability named after this subreddit.
"Hatsu Vault" is an advanced Nen ability owned by a previous bank teller that allows the user to store and access various Hatsu abilities within a personal Nen space, known as the "Vault." This ability grants the user tremendous flexibility and adaptability in combat and daily life.
This hatsu utilises Specialisation and Conjuration.
Vault Creation: The user creates a separate Nen space, the "Vault," accessible only to them. This Vault can store an unlimited number of Hatsu abilities. - The Vault is connected to the user's aura, allowing them to deposit and withdraw abilities at will.
Ability Storage: - The user can store any Hatsu ability by meeting these criteria: 1. Shake hands with the nen user whose hatsu you want, can be done forcibly or colloquially. 2. Conjure a vial and put one drop of the target's blood and sweat in it.(The sweat condition makes it very restricting, giving the user a well deserved power, later) 3. Conjure a microvave like object and a key mold that harden the mixture and form a key. 4. Put the remaining mixture in a vial, open one of the vault's boxes by conjuring a user's key and with the hardened target's key. 5. Put the vial in the opened box. And voilà, the ability is copied.
The copied ability does not STEAL the ability, like in chrollo's case, but rather makes a copy of it. The ability is also not limited to the original user's representation of it, and can be improved by the user, but as you will see, there is a problem with that.
Ability Selection: The user can access the Vault mentally, selecting any stored ability to bring into their current Nen space. This process is instantaneous and can be done even in the midst of combat. Abilities are taken by opening a box and drinking the stored vial.
Limitations and Conditions: - The user does not know which ability is where, as the vault randomizes itself every time it is conjured and dispelled, this essentially means the user gets a random ability and does not know the ability's mechanics. - One random ability is also given to the opponent, one vial must be given to the opponent by the user. -If the user drinks multiple vials, only the ability of the last drunk vial remains. Ex: User drinks 10 vials, only the ability stored in the last vial takes effect, this prevents the user from using multiple abilities in conjunction.
Applications: WITH THOSE STRICT LIMITATIONS, here is what the user can do with it: COMBAT: -The user can steal the abilties of non-nen users , the stored ability then holds the ability that the target would have had if they knew about nen. Hence, the user could steal the future nen ability of a chess prodigy and upon drinking the corresponding vial ( by chance) obtains skills to play better chess. -Upon figuring out the ability, the user can edit it in any way they like, disregarding aura cost. - If the ability uses a unviable nen type for the user, like enhancement or emission, it is no problem for the user as the user also negates aura typing as a result of the limitations. - The user can disable half of the conditions without losing any power granted by those conditions present on a stored hatsu. For example: The user can disable the life oof thing from Kurapika's Emperor time.
Development Potential: - Over time, the user can choose to conjure a label with the ability's name that the user may choose, only in the case that the user kills the target.(Which I presume the user does not like) - The user may develop a sub-ability where only hands need to be shaked, but in return the stored ability is much weaker.

Hi, this is about a German LPR friend (24years old) in New York, US.
He has been interested in joining the military, and has been considering enlisting, and naturalizing under INA329 through eligibility as an active duty service member during a designated period of hostilities, Sep 11 to present. However he is concerned that his past travel history may jeopardize his application for naturalization, and even his LPR status.
He has been an LPR since 2009 as a dependent, when his father became an LPR (from being an expat through the lottery). However from mid-2012 to mid-2018, he moved to Germany because of his father's work. He came back to the US several times, but lived and went to school in Germany for a long time. This obviously risked his LPR status, but he was never stopped by Customs/Border Control or anything like that.
Eventually he was able to apply and get accepted to college in the US, and has been here since 2018, going to college, working part time, paying taxes. His parents have remained in Germany however. During the sudden covid lockdowns, he stayed in Germany for a little less than an year too.
If he wanted to apply for naturalization regularly, we think he may be denied because he was not "lawfully admitted as an LPR" even though the Customs person at the border may have let him through. Looking at the law, and some past precedents (although we're not lawyers), it seems the scrutiny applied to the travel and residence history is strict in the naturalization process. So, he risks not only being denied, but also having his LPR revoked.
But if he wanted to naturalize through military service, looking at the uscis policy manual, and INA 329, it seems his travel/residence history won't be an issue.
In part E, the manual explains,
"In general, an applicant who files on the basis of military service during hostilities[20] is not required to be an LPR if he or she was physically present at the time of induction, enlistment, reenlistment, or extension of service in the U.S. armed forces: In the United States, the Canal Zone, American Samoa, or Swains Island; or On board a public vessel owned or operated by the United States for noncommercial service."
In INA329(b) or USCsection1440, under title 8 chapter 12, subchapter III, part II, it says
"A person filing an application under subsection (a) of this section shall comply in all other respects with the requirements of this subchapter, except that- (1) he may be naturalized regardless of age, and notwithstanding the provisions of section 1429 of this title as they relate to deportability and the provisions of section 1442 of this title; " Section 1429 says "Except as otherwise provided in this subchapter, no person shall be naturalized unless he has been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence in accordance with all applicable provisions of this chapter"
So if we're understanding this correctly, naturalization through military service eligibility is not withstanding whether he has been lawfully admitted or not, so his travel/residence record is not an issue?

Wondering if anyone can help answer a few questions about music production on a MacBook Pro.
The other day I bought a used 2015 MacBook Pro off of fb marketplace for about $200. I specifically bought it for the sole purpose of recording and producing music using Logic Pro, as well as GarageBand, as I’m familiar with using the application on my phone. Upon coming home and powering up the device, I noticed it runs quite slow already on its own, even with no apps running in the background. Regardless, I set everything up, connect iCloud, etc. Then I go to power up Logic Pro for the first time. I was met for the first time with a window that asked me to choose between Simplified mode and complete mode. I chose simplified, as this is my first time using the app. It then prompted me to download the “Essential Sounds library” which includes various plugins and other features.
Once the download was finished, the window which displayed the progress of the download then closed and brought me back to the first screen asking me to choose between the two modes previously mentioned. Once again, I chose simplified and it continued redownload the sounds library, except this time when the progress bar is complete, it continues downloading more data. This could be that it is still downloading content, but as I’ve mentioned before, this is my first time using this device, so I’m unsure. I noticed an option to resume the download later, which I clicked, finally allowing me to open up a new project file. The app runs extremely slow and is very laggy when clicking between the various tabs and options within.
Then, I downloaded GarageBand and it wouldn’t even load. It just gives me a message saying that my device is out of date although it still allowed me to download the app from the App Store.
Just very confused and don’t know what to do, as I know absolutely nothing about computers, nor do I know much about the MacBook itself (what apps are supported by what versions, what limitations certain versions have on music production.) Any input or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi guys, I'm currently a junior and my unweighted will be a 3.789 and my weighted will be a 4.45 by the time I start applying to colleges. So far, I've taken a bunch of honors classes and a bunch of ap classes. The only regular level classes I've taken so far are my electives and freshman year I took spanish 3 and this year I'm taking CE history. But other than that, all my core classes have been weighted. I'm a bit scared for college applications. I have over 250 volunteer hours, I've founded a club with my mother since 8th grade that helps first-gen asian american students like me. I am a teacher assistant/co-director of anotehr club for 6th-8th graders asian americans who are preparing for highschool and I help foster connection within them and a sense of identity, specifically a Mongolian identity. These clubs has a lot of aspects to it but I don't think you'd guys want me to explain everything....I'm part of a mentoring program for low-income students and I commit to it every Monday for 2-3 hours. I am a President of the a medical club at my school and I'm an activities officer for an asian unity club. Im in NHS,Key Club, and Technological Studenst Assocuaton (TSA) notthe airport..I've gone to a summer program at an in-state school, School of Mines, and this year I'm going out of state for a summer program at Boston University. I plan on shadowing a doctor or interning somewhere this summer if attainable and I'm shooting for a 1450+ SAT score, my previous score was a 1320. Do you guys think I can make it into any UC's or good schools? My dream school is Boston University or Northeastern and uh a long shot is Harvard or stanford.

2024.05.03 04:07 shum_bum So I just failed a take home assessment

I'm not going to name the organization, but I would like to get some feedback whether this is normal, or maybe it's a 'skill issue'. I applied for a Full-stack developer role (entry/intermediate level). I didn't do any prep for the next phases of the interview because generally they would let you know if they want to proceed with you.
Anyways, 2 weeks later, they send out an email on Friday, and they tell me you made the technical portion of the interview and the time starts NOW. It's due on Monday. I thought to myself, RIP to those who are out of town. I started in the evening because I had important obligations I couldn't skip.
This is what they wanted:

User authentication to log in and out
- I'm assuming we can mock it with stored passwords in memory in the backend
Roles:
- Administrator Role where they can modify priv. of users, which also includes disabling/enabling
- Viewers role
- Viewer + Modify role
Ability to make simple update/get operations on an entity. For this example, I'm just gonna make up 'Pizzas'. GET all pizzas, UPDATE/PATCH a pizza, etc.
Front end:
- Must work with all major devices, PC, tablet, and phone
- Basic error handling
Back-end:
- RESTful
- Basic error handling
- Didn't say we have to use a DB, also assuming we can temp. mock a DB with in memory.
Infrastructure:
- Fully deployed application where users can use the application online
- CI/CD Pipeline where automatic deployments are triggered on code change (BONUS)
Other:
- Make sure it works without errors, follows good practices, blah blah blah
- Free to choose stack of our choice.
- They also had 2 requirements that worked against each other so that was also confusing as hell.

After I tried to reach out for feedback they also mentioned "I should have also added unit tests". I started talking to people who worked in the organization (more senior positions) on LinkedIn and they never had to deploy / provision a CICD pipeline, nor they did they have to deal with user authentication. I also found an assessment online (older one they forgot to delete) and it seemed more straight forward than this one.
Looking back, I would have made myself a template with some very basic common use cases to give myself an edge. I was doing everything from scratch with no project templates.

What is a dangerous game rifle?
In the simplest sense, it's a rifle designed to hunt Dangerous Game (DG). Dangerous game are large megafauna and pachyderms that present a high probability of causing bodily harm or death to the hunter. Dangerous game include the "African 5 Five" which includes leopard, lion, cape buffalo, rhino and elephant but also includes hippo, Asiatic water buffalo, bison, bears and many more. Anything big with sharp teeth, clays and horns that can do you harm.
A dangerous game rifle is traditionally a bolt-action or double barreled rifle but it could also include single shots and even lever actions and semi-autos in the North American context. Picture an elephant gun, that's what we're describing about here.
Some of the common traits of a bolt-action dangerous game rifle are:

Magnum length action
Controlled round feed action
Iron sights, i.e. "express" style sights
Internal magazine
Barrel band sling swivel
Wood stock and blued barrel (although other finishes are becoming popular)

What calibers do dangerous game rifles come in?
I'm going to focus on the calibers that fit the more traditional definition of a DG cartridge as required by African hunting requirements, however looking through a North American lens, I'd be open to considering the likes of 338 WinMag, 358 Norma and 45-70 dangerous game cartridges for NA game.
African nations place minimum caliber requirements as a pre-requisite for hunting the big give. it's generally a caliber requirement but sometimes also a minimum energy requirement. A handful of nations allow for the 9.3x62 (.366 caliber) for use on dangerous game, but many do not. The standard load of the 9.3X62 is a 286gr bullet moving at 2,350 fps, producing about 3,500 ft-lbs of energy and 28 pounds of felt recoil. The main advantages of the 9.3x62 is the ammo is relatively easy to source, it fits a standard length action (30.06 length) and the felt recoil is relatively low compared to the others on this list.
Stepping up from there you get into the 375's, whether it be the 375 Holland & Holland or 375 Ruger. The 375's are universally accepted across all African nations as the minimum caliber for up to and including elephant. The standard load for the 375's is propelling a 300 grain bullet between 2,550fps-2,650fps, producing upwards of 4,700 ft-lbs of energy and around 40 pounds of recoil.
The 375's are the best one-and-done cartridge choice for a do-it-all North American dangerous game rifle. Ammo and rifles are plenty and affordable. The recoil is stout but can be easily managed by an average shooter who's used to .308, 30.06 etc. The 375HH is capable of taking all game in North America.

If you've ever heard the term stopping rifle, it's a rifle used by a professional hunter (PH) chambered in something with enough authority to instantly turn out the lights on a large critter that's about to turn you into red mush and pink mist, from about 10 yards away. The following cartridges would fit into this category

458 Lott- 500 grains at 2,300 fps, producing 5,800+ft-lbs of energy and 70lbs of felt recoil.
500 Nitro Express- 570 grains at 2,150 fps, producing 5,800+ft-lbs of energy and 75lbs of felt recoil
The 500 Jeffery or 505 Gibbs that can push a 600 grain bullet over 2,100 fps, producing 100lbs of felt recoil.
577 Nitro Express - 750 grains at 2,050 fps, producing over 7,000ft-lbs of energy and 127 pounds of felt recoil.

Hey people, I'm very interested to find out which grocery stores are most realiable in terms of budgeting in Dubai, delivery, and which apps are mostly used for delivery. Let me be clear, I'm not targeting very cheap grocery stores with very low quality of food, but rather something decent and affordable with normal prices and good quality.
I read that popular grocery stores in terms of budgeting are Viva, Lulu, Carrefour, Nesto, probably there is more of them, but I don't know which one is most reliable when it comes to prices and food quality and which offers delivery of groceries.
When it comes to the application for delivery, many people say that Instashop is very good because the prices are the same as in stores, but maybe there are even better apps.
