Replaced my Google Nest Hello with the Nest Doorbell (wired) today and the indoor chime doesn’t ring. I tried a few times but still couldn’t to get it to work. On top of that every time I press the doorbell, the video cuts out and system seems to reset. The whole reason I decided to replace the Nest Hello was because in the winter every time someone press the doorbell the video would cut out. I understand this is a common issue so decided to take the plunge to Google Home and do the upgrade.
After messing with it for 30 minutes I decided to put my Nest Hello back. Should I just call a Nest Pro to fix this? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

When I load into my save my fps drops to 10 and I get two errors, one of which repeats up to 2000. If anyone could give some tips or help find a solution that'd be great! I have around 70 mods installed.

I'm 29M gym enthusiast, financially secure, dress well (IMO) and relatively social. Being Korean, I'm afraid I look around 5-10 years younger than I am which doesn't help in the dating department. I bought a hand feed baby lovebird when she was about 2.5 months. She was handfeed and handed daily. When she was baby she was very social and very outgoing. There was a delay in her development that kept me from being her home on time, so while she caught up I was more than ready for her arrival. I had her cage set up and my family and I went through our name options. I should mention that she’s not our first bird. The first bird we got was a lovebird about a year and a half prior. My mom thought she was buying a budgie. It was a near feral lovebird. That lovebird had been a struggle since the very first hour we brought her home. We all tried to tame her to no avail. Is being naive new bird owners even decided to clip her wings. She completely shut down and became depressed. So I bought myself a bird in hopes to cheer her up. So, back to my bird. As time went by they started doing this things where they’d stick they’re finger through the bars of her cage and poke at her. I’d tell them hundreds and hundreds of times nicely, and I explain why they shouldn’t do that. They didn’t listen. And as I got more and more feed up with constantly asking them not to torment my baby they started calling me dramatic and started doing it while I was at work. They thought it was funny how she’d open her beak and growl. Then as time went by I notice she started getting a little nippy. Once again I asked them to stop harassing her while I was working, and I found out that while they’d invite guests over to our house my family allowed them to also put their fingers in both the birds cages. She’s now over a year old and absolutely hates anybody besides me walking up to either was the the bird cages. She’s bitten me hard enough to drawl blood and rip skin on at least 4 occasions. I can no longer just put me hand in her cage and live on her all because they wouldn’t listen. She’s also having trouble preening her head and her hate red of fingers makes it nearly impossible for me to help her so she’s constantly frustrated and itchy on top of everything. My family blames me for her aggression but I just want my happy baby back again. Is there any way to fix this? Am I constantly going to be worried about leaving her with them? Will she ever carelessly accept pets ever gain? Please I’d be so grateful for any tips…

Hello my rear glass window unglued in the heat while it was stored, was wondering if there is any good way to glue it back or if I just need to replace the soft top with a new one? Anybody got any tips, all the glass and upholstery shops are useless.

So I want to address something that has popped up in the last couple of days. It's the idea that switching between PLA and PETG requires absolutely massive (2500+ mm³) purge, which looks to be about 1/3 of the bed.
After some research, I'm of the belief that this is not necessarily accurate for the MMU3 on the Mk4 - and we need more research.
The source of this idea comes from a single blog post online where Antalife did some research on a Mk3S using the MMU2S. But I think a new feature of the MMU3/Mk4 means this is not reflective of the Mk4/MMU3.
Prusa encountered a big problem with the Nextruder with the MMU3, and fixing this problem lead to the development of a stamping procedure for the Nextruder based machines, which should affect how much purge is needed to change materials.

• Prusa first noted in a blog article that accumulated plastic dust and debris was becoming a problem, and that started a series of delays for the MMU3 for the Mk4.
• Prusa noted in a subsequent blog article that the MMU3 should have less filament wasted than filament-cutting solutions, and noted that the Mk4's extruder was very different from the Mk3 and they needed more time.
• In October of 2023, they revealed the full extent of the problem they were dealing with and the solution they were pursuing. Strings of filament were accumulating in the Nextruder, and that was causing problems. In order to alleviate that - they developed a stamping procedure to shape the top and prevent the stringing.
  • This particular procedure is unique to the MMU3 on the Mk4. Being that Antalife's article was written for the MMU2S, it was not using the procedure that Prusa developed.
  • Antalife did mention there was a "DRIBBLING" update for PrusaSlicer that improved tip shape, but neglected to mention if that update was being used for the tests that led to the 2500 mm³ figure.
  • Prusa appears to have done extensive testing of the new stamping procedure.
  • The new stamping procedure is noted to reduce waste.
  • Prusa did thank Antalife, but noted their procedure is different.
• Prusa did make one more blog post announcing the shipment of the MMU3 for the Mk4 - and that the MMU3 on the Mk4 should be faster than "ultra-fast" printers with "MMU/AMS" systems - an obvious swing at Bambu.
• It should be noted that the new stamping procedure is solely for the Mk3.9/Mk4 - Prusa does not seem to mention using the procedure on the older machines without the Nextruder.

What I'd like to see in an updated experiment: - MMU3 on the Mk4 (or Mk3.9). - Updated firmware and updated profiles in the most recent PrusaSlicer. - Larger sample size. 10 samples is a bit small to be honest. - Different colors. It's known that the color of a material can greatly affect transitions. Transparent PETG could very well be a worst case scenario. - Verification of the experiment by somebody else, maybe CNC Kitchen can run his own tests - he seems to have really good methodology.
Tips for multimaterial supports, if you want to try them: - It may be the case that the Mk4 and MMU3 is the best hardware combination for multimaterial supports due to the stamping (other than just going full tool changer with the XL). - Note that PETG and PLA are the only materials that are extensively tested for the stamping procedure, Prusa does note that the MMU3 only officially supports those two materials for multimaterial printing. - Make sure the filament is dry - the more dry it is, the less problems with stringing it'll have. - Use the support material only for the interface - that minimizes the number of filament swaps. - At the end of the day - the best part is the part that doesn't need supports. If you have control over the design, think carefully about how it will be printed and how supports can be avoided. The parts for the Mk4 and MMU3 themselves don't require supports at all - and if complex parts for these machines can be made to never need supports, most items should be able to be designed to not need supports.
I'm open to possibly being wrong, but I think before we throw out the idea of multimaterial supports, we really should test it with Prusa's latest tech.

Looking for some good recommendations to navigate my future plans.
I completed my undergrad in Engineering in the US and then I started applying for Masters program and a job simultaneously. I had a job offer and two university acceptance with some good scholarships. I chose to take the job offer as I was financially broke and couldn’t afford to move to big city and for masters program. I came from a very weak financial background family, I have been supporting myself for my living and education and also supporting my parents back home. After working for 4.5 years now, I am kind of stable financially (make ~100K/annum) meaning I can afford to rent and pay for food/cars/education. I started my Masters in the same field of engineering as my work through distance learning in one of the top 5 graduate school of engineering. I will finish them in about 2 years and my company partially pays for the tuition.
I tried my hands at entrepreneurship before and during the pandemic time, I failed to successfully launch my startup in my home country and lost $25K. I was academically very good in schools and was always chosen for representatives/leadership roles in schools growing up ( people from India can relate to it). While I aspire to become a good entrepreneur in the future at the same time I feel my education is incomplete. I feel like doing a PhD on and off just for the sake of respect in the industry and the title and also salary bump. I had the offer for Sr. Engineering role in bayarea and declined the role. I am 28yrs old. I want to keep my job and would like to continue upskilling and get a degree (PhD). I have been thinking of doing a PhD related to the same engineering field of my work (advanced manufacturing in semiconductors) through online/distance learning. I saw there are some universities that offer the PhD program for the degree I want.
Do you recommend me doing PhD online? Is it worth it given my work and experience? Am I putting my head in the wrong direction?

Timezone Changes
From the first posts of 2022, we ran a long trial where we shifted the timezone of the Comment Cooperative and Concrit Commune threads approximately every month. The trial was proposed due to feedback that some people consistently miss the influx of comments due to the timing of the thread, and a changing time would give everyone an opportunity to be in the first period of the thread and also might help with picking up some new subreddit members who want to participate.
At the end of the trial, we sought feedback on the changing times, which times were preferred and at which people were able to participate more. While found that most people wanted the timezone changes to continue and also received feedback on what didn’t work as well. Most of this was regarding inconsistencies in the number of weeks and the communication of when changes would occur.
The last time we changed the times, it caused a lot of confusion. To avoid that happening again, we have updated the post to include the schedule of these changes and automated the scheduled changes. As you can see, the post time will shift by 6 hours every month. For at least the first 4 months, the new time will be stickied for the first week and if that works well, we should be able to continue that. If there are any inconsistencies in the times, please let us know in modmail so we can fix it up!

Tentacles the width of busses unsheathed from its sides. Even if he’d managed to launch the grenades and bathe it in smitelight, he suspected that wouldn’t be enough.
Norman sliced at its eyes with a focused beam. It barely flinched. Maybe if it got close enough, he could affect it a bit. By then, it would be too late.
Throbbing chuffs thundered from the monster. It sounded like a laugh.

Oh, right. There was a skyscraper running him down. To think he lived in a world where that made any sense. He rubbed his throbbing head. It was hard to think, though.

Brain fog would have to wait.
In two twos he jumped onto the side of the building and kept going up and up without breaking the momentum of the leap. Adrenaline had challenged gravity. Gravity lost. There was no pause to assess handholds. There was no rain stinging his face. In his mind, there was only ‘CLIMB, CLIMB, CLIMB!’ Crest the rooftop. ‘RUN, RUN, RUN!’ Descend the other side ‘JUMP!’ Gravity greedily reclaimed Norman, dragging him 4 storeys down at breakneck speed. He hit the ground in a parkour roll. Bruised a bone. Nearly fractured a shoulder. Wrenched his spine. Joints, muscle, ligaments almost popped. They didn’t.
He was running again.
Norman had never heard a building shred like paper. He’d never thought to wonder what it sounded like.

SHHHHHRRRRRRMMMM!

Now he knew.
Those booms … was it the eyescraper’s tentacles breaking the sound barrier, or punching holes through the apartment building? Maybe both. It didn’t matter. What mattered was that it was tearing the building in two with the ease of one parting curtains. Buildings were not designed to be parted. Two became legions as the sundered building collapsed.
Norman rushed for an abandoned truck, slid beneath the trailer. Not quite fast enough. Most of the rubble didn’t reach him directly, but upon hitting the ground? It pulverised into a blast of cloud like a sandstorm. Hissing beneath the trailer, the dust stung at his ankles. He ignored it, racing for the truck’s cabin at the front. Perched on the step beneath the door, he braced as the dust raced beneath, around and above him. The cabin was his shield. He flinched to a duck when its windows shattered as the dust cloud blasted straight through them. The truck rocked and slid slightly, bombarded by wind and dust. It lurched as a chunk of debris finally reached it, crumpling the trailer like cheap foil.
Time to move.
Particles prickled Norman’s eyes, finding their way through the nightsight. He took a fresh glimpse of the path ahead before clouds of grey engulfed it all.
Memorised.
He dashed on. A split second later, the cabin was levelled under a larger slab of concrete. More sporadically thundered down around him. His eyes were squeezed shut, denying entry to any more particles. He scrambled through the street, dodging obstacles from memory. As for the concrete rainfall that couldn’t be seen? He had some prayers about that, but it probably came out like half-baked gibberish.
Norman chanced opening his eyes. They watered like crazy. At least most of the dust was gone. Behind him, the eyescraper’s menacing silhouette was picking through the rubble. Finally, an unblocked street was in sight. He rounded the corner.

Maybe not. A third building emerged from the rainfall ahead. All streets blocked. He glanced about. All alleys still blocked. This really was a hunting net, but this much energy for a tiny human? Predators weren’t usually like this.
He ran for the nearest building that wasn’t occupied by eldritch calamari.

The eyescraper’s tentacle crossed his path. Its supersonic shockwave sent him flying.

Norman came to. Rain poured against his face as he lay on his back. How long was he out? Why was it so cold? The atmosphere didn’t quite feel right. It didn’t look right either. Something about the colours, or subtle lack thereof. Everything seemed a bit desaturated. Norman sat up and coughed his lungs out, evicting a mix of dust and rain water collected in his slackly gaping mouth. Buildings towered above him on every side, a bit too close for comfort.

Oh, right, those weren’t just buildings.
Norman raised a finger, gesturing to wait. “Could you *kaff!* quit subwoofin’ at me for, like, ten seconds!”
“Plucky.̵͚͐͝ for all seasons I .̵̦̺͐̅see,” came a skin-crawling voice from behind him.
Norman swung back his smitelight. It barely moved half a foot, then it stopped. Rather, something stopped it. That ‘something’ was cold. So cold. His wrist felt the chill without even touching it.
Norman turned, slowly, so as not to trigger further attacks. He found himself looking up.
Eight feet tall. Dark grey skin. A grin that went a little too wide. Dagger teeth. An open-chested jacket, revealing sinewy muscles with luminous markings like tattoos. His ebony eyes bore penetrating white pupils. Of all his traits, the dreadlocks stood out most. They belonged in a nightmare, dancing through the air with a life of their own. Somehow, they looked blacker than black, absorbing every ray of light or heat that came their way. That icy chill in the air shifted with the movements of his dreadlocks. They seemed to drink life from the air itself. Norman almost found it hard to breathe. One dreadlock clutched Norman’s smitelight, only by the tip, but its grip was iron.
Norman stared the tall man down.
The nyctal’s grin grew by a smidgeon.
Taking a calculated risk, Norman released the smitelight. Perhaps a peace offering would do good.
“Good.̷̧͋͌̎̿ boy,” the tall man nodded, admiring the smitelight as the dreadlock rotated it. “Clever.̴̧̤̩͈͓̖͂ͅ toy.”
Norman noted an understated Jamaican accent in his voice.
More dreadlocks slithered across the smitelight, as if tasting its every nook and cranny.
Norman did his best to look casual as he scanned for an escape route. The eyescraper’s tentacles had wrapped around the street, fencing him in.

The tall man handed Norman his smitelight.
Norman’s suspicious gaze flicked between the nyctal and the weapon. Finally, he reached out and took hold of the smitelight.
It crumbled in his fingers like ice-cold ashes. If not for the insulation gloves, he might have gotten frostbite.
The nyctal laughed.
Norman didn’t find it particularly amusing.
The tall man sauntered towards the eyescraper. Beyond it was a darkness even the nightsight had difficulty piercing. He beckoned Norman as if it were an afterthought.
“Please come in, .̵̭̻͌̓̂Norman.̶̲͕͇̅̑̚,” the nyctal instructed.
Norman stared stubbornly, hands in his pockets as he rocked on his heels. He felt for his smartphone. It wasn’t there. When had he lost it?
Without looking back, the nyctal held up Norman’s phone. It disintegrated between his fingers as he rubbed them together.
Norman glared. At least the guy hadn’t pickpocketed deeply enough to find other things.
“Hey. To whom do I owe the … pleasure?” Norman almost had to push the last word through his teeth.
The nyctal stopped in the eyescraper’s doorframe. Shrouded in shadow, little could be seen of him, save the piercing white pupils peering out. Then the glint of his Cheshire grin.
“.̴̜͓̭̻̤̍̈́̆͑͑John Crow.̸̻̮̓̈́̏̓͘,” he answered, before receding into the darkness.
The eyescraper’s tentacles dragged in across the street, corralling Norman towards the building. With an exasperated groan, he trudged towards the main entrance.
“I want my bed,” grumbled Norman.

However my firm did not hire back any students, strictly due to market conditions and lack of need. I have stellar references from two partners that I worked very closely with and was mentored by. In law school, I was also the President of the largest equity group at my school. Prior to law school I was a student athlete and graduated simma cum laude.
Now the bad news, my grades were average and the firm that I went to was not particularly well-known. I am looking for new opportunities. My main areas of focus are corporate (preference for m&a and private equity) and I’m willing to work in bankruptcy and insolvency.
My question is: the market in Toronto for corporate is pretty bad right now and I’m looking to network my way into a job in New York. Im looking for advice, tips and a general assessment of my chances.

Hey all, I've been reading this group for the last couple of months. I had a terrible credit score (560) and have been trying to improve it. I tried many tips from here to improve my credit and saw marginal increases (+50ish points), but I found a better solution I'd like to share. My credit score jumped an average of 210 points in two months (I am a 770 between all three bureaus) and I didn't pay a dime to have anyone do it. Late payments have been removed, and collections have been dropped. All I've done is sent letters to collection agencies and the credit bureaus threatening a lawsuit if they fail to drop collections against my credit / late payments that I deem inaccurate or insufficient to report. How did I do it? I literally go into Chat GPT and write prompts like this "Write me a demand letter to \****** [collection agency] demanding that they immediately remove a collection for xxx from my credit report." I add "Be aggressive in the letter and note that I will move forward with a lawsuit if not corrected." Sometimes, I will add details too, like "Note that I recently closed ****** account and was in good standing" or "I have not been provided sufficient evidence, I do not recall this debt, or the evidence provided is insufficient under federal law." I also told the chatgpt, "Tell them that I refuse to receive any contact attempting to collect the debt and will view it as a violation of federal law."* I add "Say I'm only willing to accept written communication regarding the [collection agency] confirming they have removed this from my credit report." I also tell chatgpt to say, "if I do not receive a response by \***** confirming this has been removed from my credit, I will move forward with a lawsuit." *What happens:** ChatGPT spits out a legally intimidating letter that says to provide me with concrete proof, or I will sue if they fail to remove me from my credit report. It also demands a response in writing within 30 days. I also Cc various federal agencies at the bottom, and it works. What I do after I get the ChatGPT letter: Once I get the response from Chatgpt, I take the demand letter it spits out, read it (make adjustments if I need to), put it in word or pages, change the text to courier font (the legal lettering), and send it off. I also use my printer to print the creditors name on the envelope (in courier legal font) so it looks more intimidating. I add "Time-Sensitive" in bold on the top left the envelope too. Here are the results after 60 days: (I started in February and wanted to wait a little before posting everything). All amounts are in estimates just to keep it as anonymous as possible. - $6,000 (estimate) debt with a debt buyer---- 5 years old---Removed, and provided a letter letting it go. - $1,000 (estimate) debt from another debt buyer -- 15 months old-- Removed (no letter provided, just off my credit). I have sent another demanding letter giving them 15 days to confirm in writing they are removing it (will update when I get a response). - $1,700 (estimate) from a collection agency -- Sent me a letter with "verification." I sent a letter saying it wasn't sufficient; they sent a letter back with a contract signed by me and said the creditor adjusted the collection to $450. From that point, I called and said I found the debt wrong, but I settled it for $300 as a pay-to-delete. - $640 (estimate) debt from a collection agency -- Removed and provided a letter letting it go. - $1,300 (estimate) debt collection agency-- Removed and provided a letter letting it go - Six late car payments to USAA Financial were updated to paid on time (payments were late from November 2023 to some in 2022). I had a 90-day late payment taken off. For these, I sent my disputes directly to Experian, Equifax, and Transunion ( I did not send a letter to USAA Financial because they would have concrete records of when payments were made). Some important notes: - Make sure your prompt is aggressive. You might need to tweak it a couple times by telling chatgpt to be more mean (ha ha). - Make sure you tell ChatGPT to demand responses in writing that it's off your credit report. I didn't want them to try to re-add it later or sell it to another agency. By demanding it in writing, I put them at risk if they sell it off because my letters note that I will sue them if they try to offload it to another credit company because it's a wrongful debt. - You also need to read what it writes; it will make small mistakes here and there (sometimes it will put things in plural) My situation: I was an idiot until recently and could care less about my credit. This method cleared my credit and approved me for a new car lease (I needed a $1,500-$2,000 car lease payment to write off because of tax reasons). I recently got a new 2024 S 580 hybrid (Mercedes) and the Mercedes dealer didn't flinch about my credit on a $148,000 car (was approved by Mercedes Benz financial). I'm in my early 30s and self-employed. I make roughly $230,000 a year. Some may ask why I don't just pay it off based on income -- Owe roughly $85k and take care of my parents. A piece of advice: DO NOT PAY ANYONE TO HELP YOU. YOU CAN DO THIS YOURSELF. YOU JUST NEED TO PUT SOME TIME INTO IT. Good luck.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where someone is severely bleeding, knowing how to control the bleeding can make a critical difference. Here's a simple guide:

1. Stay Calm and Act Quickly: Your composure can help you think clearly and act efficiently.
2. Call for Help: Dial emergency services immediately. Time is of the essence.
3. Protect Yourself: If possible, wear gloves to avoid contact with blood.
4. Apply Pressure: Use a clean cloth or your hands to apply firm, steady pressure directly on the wound. Do not remove the cloth once it's placed, even if it gets soaked with blood. Add more cloth on top if needed.
5. Elevate the Wound: If it's safe and practical, raise the injured limb above the heart level to slow the bleeding.
6. Use a Tourniquet: Only if the bleeding is life-threatening and you have no other choice, apply a tourniquet above the wound, closer to the heart. Tighten it until the bleeding stops. Note the time it was applied and inform the medical personnel.
7. Stay with the Person: Keep the injured person calm and still until help arrives. Monitor their condition and provide reassurance.

Bonus Tip 1: Consider taking a first aid course to learn more detailed techniques and be prepared for emergencies. You never know when this knowledge might come in handy!
Bonus Tip 2: Have a fire extinguisher in your vehicle. It's not only for your safety, but others. Imagine if you run up on a crash and there is a fire with an alive person in the car, but it's too hot to get near the car to try and pull them out. Very traumatic event regardless, but imagine if you had to just watch/hear the person burn to death. Sorry I know that is dark, but it would mess up most people.

Sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language. I just bought a bottle of pure glycerine (99.5%). Because i heard it is good to hydrate the top skin layer and to keep it hydrated. I myself do not have a "normal skin", i have a skin disease called "ichthyosis". It is the reason why i use it and are looking for stuff that might help. My question is does anybody has experience with the use of pure glycerine and how to best use it? Like after you use it do you need to let it dry before u moisturize and if you let it dry, for how long? Because i find it staining my clothes after i immediately put my clothes on. And do you comibinate it with a specific product ?
Any advice or tips are welcome!!
