There has to be some turning point where embedded security features (2FA, automatic log out, email/text notifications) available from exchanges provide more security than a malware ridded desktop running windows XP.
Honestly speaking if my father, who's proprietary blue prints (albeit for a very, very niche product) could be accessed by a motivated script kiddie, wanted BTC I would recommend keeping them in coinbase or a similar service rather than a personal wallet. Then again he managed to download not one, not two, not three, but 15 different "free spyware protection" malware programs.
And its not just old folks, I know people my age who click on 3 malware "download now" buttons trying to use a rapidshare type service. And they run the .exe files.
Knowing people IRL who got burned by mt gox, I understand that if you don't hold the private key they aren't yours.
Still, I feel like the community hasn't hashed out a clear decision making tree to help, well lets face it, idiots decide if they are responsible enough to have a bitcoin wallet on their personal computer.
While telling people to read the bitcoin security guide is great, plenty of people manage to fuck up IKEA furniture by refusing to read the directions. If BTC is going to go mainstream, we can't rely on people to follow directions that are "hard" for the internet explorer joe demographic.

Summary
→ Pokémon Blaze Black 2 & Pokémon Volt White 2 are essentially the sequels to my Black & White hacks known as Blaze Black and Volt White. The usual rules with my hacks apply; the main feature is that all 649 Pokémon are available for capture somewhere in the game, and the trainers have all had their rosters changed in order to maintain a much harder challenge than the original game, as well as having an increased variety of opponents to fight. There's also a large amount of alternative features these hacks offer, which range from differences to the Pokémon themselves to the presence of a couple new TMs. If I'm not mistaken, these are also the first Black 2 and White 2 hacks on offer.
→ Additionally, the two versions only differ in terms of their aesthetic differences, such as the appearance of Opelucid City, the title screen, etcetera. So basically, just pick whichever colour takes your fancy!
Specific Features → The wild Pokémon have been edited in each and every area of the game. Most areas now contain at least 8 Pokémon species, and in most cases, more! You'll be able to attain a complete PokéDex within the limits of the game itself, and the majority of Pokémon are available no later than the seventh badge, meaning you can form basically any team you want! There's a couple legendaries that you can't get until after the Elite Four, but aside from that...
→ The rosters of almost all of the trainers in the game have been edited. The exception to this at present are the Dome trainers (wait what? Oh wait, he means Sports Domes... damn...), as they aren't really necessary and there's no proper trainer editing tool available for B2W2 yet. This has also raised the level curve of the game, meaning you can expect to beat the first round of the Elite Four somewhere in the 70s levelwise. Most notably Gym Leaders, your rival and the Elite Four have all been made significantly tougher. Gym Leaders will also have differing Pokémon amounts depending on the mode you play; Normal Mode will have them with anywhere from 3 to 5 Pokémon, whereas Challenge Mode will pit you against a full team of six. The Elite Four and Champion also hold some surprises in Challenge Mode...
→ There's been a large number of edits to Pokémon. These can include the level up moves they learn, the abilities they get, their compatibility with Move Tutors and TMs, and even their base stats. There's a document included that will tell you all you need to know (link is here ). This also makes Dream World abilities significantly easier to obtain. However, if this particular point doesn't appeal to you, the Vanilla version of the hack cuts it out.
→ Some attacks have also been edited, for example the Pledge moves having 100 base power or Cut now being a Grass-type move (this means coverage!). This is also removed from the Vanilla version of the hack.
→ There's also been some changes to evolutions. The majority of these involve editing the trade evolutions; in most cases you will now simply be able to 'Use' the item like an evolution stone - for example, using a Magmarizer on a Magmar to evolve it - to do what you would normally need to trade for. For those who evolve by trade but don't need an item, a new item called the Covenant Ore has been introduced and is available in several places through the game; it works like an evolutionary stone, so you're still able to evolve them at any time. Leafeon and Glaceon are now obtainable through new items known as the Woodland Ore and Frozen Ore, to get around their areas being postgame. Shelmet and Karrablast instead follow a Mantyke routine where the other needs to be in the party for them to evolve. Finally, some of the Unovian Pokémon such as Scraggy, Mienfoo and Larvesta have had reductions to their evolution levels to make them more usable in comparison to the older species.
→ Items that you receive and find lying in the field have been changed considerably - this is generally done in order to bring almost all TMs available before the Elite Four are defeated. Notable changes include much earlier Flamethrower and Thunderbolt TMs, and even an Earthquake TM as early as the fifth gym! Doesn't quite beat Platinum, but it's close to. You'll also be able to find a lot of evolution items on the map somewhere, such as the Reaper Cloth, Up-Grade and Protector. (looks like we didn't need the cheat code Kappa)
→ A couple of the Poké Marts around the region have had some edits. Examples include the ability to buy Luxury Balls in Virbank City, Heart Scales and shards in Driftveil City, and any sort of evolution item you want in the Route 9 department store. (cue another "False Prohpet" episode...)
→ There have been some text edits; a couple of these are sprinkled references, but for the most part it's to made the item changes make sense with the dialogue. In addition, Juniper's speech at the beginning has been changed; this is the tip-off that you've got the hack working correctly.
→ One-time encounter Pokémon such as Cobalion, Virizion, Volcarona, Braviary etc. have had their levels raised in order to fit with the new level curve. In addition, there's also a much bigger variety of one-time encounters, mostly dealing with legendaries. Ever thought you couldn't find Articuno in front of Twist Mountain, or Kyogre within the Abyssal Ruins? Well, now you can! You'll be able to unlock a fraction of these around the eighth gym badge, then the rest sometime after the Pokémon League. Are you up to catching them all? (holy fucking shit)
→ Some of the trades within the game have also been edited, and given much better IVs. Players will now be able to trade for a Togepi, a Gengar and an Exeggutor before the Elite Four is dealt with. Note that any trades with Yancy and Curtis are not changed.
→ New events have been added into the game. Apart from the aforementioned overworlds, there's also Gym Leader rematches outside the PWT, the ability to challenge Hoenn Leaders at various points in the game, Harlequins who will give out starters and even the ability to battle with Hilbert and Hilda (DAT ASS, AND ALSO WE NEED TO BATTLE GYMC'S TEAM)! You'll also be given the keys for Easy Mode and Challenge Mode almost right at the beginning of the game!
→ The Pokémon that appear within the Hidden Grottos around Unova have also been changed. This is a primary way to get the starter Pokémon that you don't receive, but also has a large assortment of other Pokémon. If you play the Vanilla version, this'll be important in order to keep your Pokémon on par! Most Pokémon with useful DW abilities will be present somewhere.
→ There's also been some TM replacements. Say good-bye to Sky Drop, Quash and Struggle Bug, for they've now been replaced by Hurricane, Sucker Punch and Bug Buzz respectively.

Bugs and Errors → Keys unlocking will not be saved if you don't save your game before getting them. There's no way to fix this entirely, yet. → The King's Rock will not currently work on Slowpoke, so Slowking is impossible to obtain short of catching it in the Wild directly (sorry SlowpokeIsAGamer). Poliwhirl, however, is fine. If you're desperate, insert this into a/0/1/9 using NitroExplorer. → The Pokémon breeders aren't currently set with teams to help you EV your Pokémon. This isn't a bug per se, it's just an idea I meant to do that totally slipped my mind. Having it in the buglist should remind me to fix it, though!

Summary
→ Pokémon Blaze Black 2 & Pokémon Volt White 2 are essentially the sequels to my Black & White hacks known as Blaze Black and Volt White. The usual rules with my hacks apply; the main feature is that all 649 Pokémon are available for capture somewhere in the game, and the trainers have all had their rosters changed in order to maintain a much harder challenge than the original game, as well as having an increased variety of opponents to fight. There's also a large amount of alternative features these hacks offer, which range from differences to the Pokémon themselves to the presence of a couple new TMs. If I'm not mistaken, these are also the first Black 2 and White 2 hacks on offer.
→ Additionally, the two versions only differ in terms of their aesthetic differences, such as the appearance of Opelucid City, the title screen, etcetera. So basically, just pick whichever colour takes your fancy!
Specific Features → The wild Pokémon have been edited in each and every area of the game. Most areas now contain at least 8 Pokémon species, and in most cases, more! You'll be able to attain a complete PokéDex within the limits of the game itself, and the majority of Pokémon are available no later than the seventh badge, meaning you can form basically any team you want! There's a couple legendaries that you can't get until after the Elite Four, but aside from that...
→ The rosters of almost all of the trainers in the game have been edited. The exception to this at present are the Dome trainers (wait what? Oh wait, he means Sports Domes... damn...), as they aren't really necessary and there's no proper trainer editing tool available for B2W2 yet. This has also raised the level curve of the game, meaning you can expect to beat the first round of the Elite Four somewhere in the 70s levelwise. Most notably Gym Leaders, your rival and the Elite Four have all been made significantly tougher. Gym Leaders will also have differing Pokémon amounts depending on the mode you play; Normal Mode will have them with anywhere from 3 to 5 Pokémon, whereas Challenge Mode will pit you against a full team of six. The Elite Four and Champion also hold some surprises in Challenge Mode...
→ There's been a large number of edits to Pokémon. These can include the level up moves they learn, the abilities they get, their compatibility with Move Tutors and TMs, and even their base stats. There's a document included that will tell you all you need to know (link is here ). This also makes Dream World abilities significantly easier to obtain. However, if this particular point doesn't appeal to you, the Vanilla version of the hack cuts it out.
→ Some attacks have also been edited, for example the Pledge moves having 100 base power or Cut now being a Grass-type move (this means coverage!). This is also removed from the Vanilla version of the hack.
→ There's also been some changes to evolutions. The majority of these involve editing the trade evolutions; in most cases you will now simply be able to 'Use' the item like an evolution stone - for example, using a Magmarizer on a Magmar to evolve it - to do what you would normally need to trade for. For those who evolve by trade but don't need an item, a new item called the Covenant Ore has been introduced and is available in several places through the game; it works like an evolutionary stone, so you're still able to evolve them at any time. Leafeon and Glaceon are now obtainable through new items known as the Woodland Ore and Frozen Ore, to get around their areas being postgame. Shelmet and Karrablast instead follow a Mantyke routine where the other needs to be in the party for them to evolve. Finally, some of the Unovian Pokémon such as Scraggy, Mienfoo and Larvesta have had reductions to their evolution levels to make them more usable in comparison to the older species.
→ Items that you receive and find lying in the field have been changed considerably - this is generally done in order to bring almost all TMs available before the Elite Four are defeated. Notable changes include much earlier Flamethrower and Thunderbolt TMs, and even an Earthquake TM as early as the fifth gym! Doesn't quite beat Platinum, but it's close to. You'll also be able to find a lot of evolution items on the map somewhere, such as the Reaper Cloth, Up-Grade and Protector. (looks like we didn't need the cheat code Kappa)
→ A couple of the Poké Marts around the region have had some edits. Examples include the ability to buy Luxury Balls in Virbank City, Heart Scales and shards in Driftveil City, and any sort of evolution item you want in the Route 9 department store. (cue another "False Prohpet" episode...)
→ There have been some text edits; a couple of these are sprinkled references, but for the most part it's to made the item changes make sense with the dialogue. In addition, Juniper's speech at the beginning has been changed; this is the tip-off that you've got the hack working correctly.
→ One-time encounter Pokémon such as Cobalion, Virizion, Volcarona, Braviary etc. have had their levels raised in order to fit with the new level curve. In addition, there's also a much bigger variety of one-time encounters, mostly dealing with legendaries. Ever thought you couldn't find Articuno in front of Twist Mountain, or Kyogre within the Abyssal Ruins? Well, now you can! You'll be able to unlock a fraction of these around the eighth gym badge, then the rest sometime after the Pokémon League. Are you up to catching them all? (holy fucking shit)
→ Some of the trades within the game have also been edited, and given much better IVs. Players will now be able to trade for a Togepi, a Gengar and an Exeggutor before the Elite Four is dealt with. Note that any trades with Yancy and Curtis are not changed.
→ New events have been added into the game. Apart from the aforementioned overworlds, there's also Gym Leader rematches outside the PWT, the ability to challenge Hoenn Leaders at various points in the game, Harlequins who will give out starters and even the ability to battle with Hilbert and Hilda (DAT ASS, AND ALSO WE NEED TO BATTLE GYMC'S TEAM)! You'll also be given the keys for Easy Mode and Challenge Mode almost right at the beginning of the game!
→ The Pokémon that appear within the Hidden Grottos around Unova have also been changed. This is a primary way to get the starter Pokémon that you don't receive, but also has a large assortment of other Pokémon. If you play the Vanilla version, this'll be important in order to keep your Pokémon on par! Most Pokémon with useful DW abilities will be present somewhere.
→ There's also been some TM replacements. Say good-bye to Sky Drop, Quash and Struggle Bug, for they've now been replaced by Hurricane, Sucker Punch and Bug Buzz respectively.
→ All of these changes are well documented in PDF guides that come with the download. If you want to know what's been added or changed, simply consult them!

Bugs and Errors → Keys unlocking will not be saved if you don't save your game before getting them. There's no way to fix this entirely, yet. → The King's Rock will not currently work on Slowpoke, so Slowking is impossible to obtain short of catching it in the Wild directly (sorry SlowpokeIsAGamer). Poliwhirl, however, is fine. If you're desperate, insert this into a/0/1/9 using NitroExplorer. → The Pokémon breeders aren't currently set with teams to help you EV your Pokémon. This isn't a bug per se, it's just an idea I meant to do that totally slipped my mind. Having it in the buglist should remind me to fix it, though!

I got tired of trying to do the math in my head of when 6% attack speed is better than 8% critical change which is better than 37% critical damage, so I made a spreadsheet to help me quickly decide what stat beats what at my current gear level. After finishing up the damage section, I decided why not build one for toughness as well! Now you can compare some of the most common stat choices vs. one another (AS, CC, CHD, Vit, AR, % Life, etc) to see what comes out on top, I think this will be especially useful when enchanting since the game gives no feedback about which stat beats which other stat. For the toughness formula I borrowed heavily from HG_Johnny (http://www.reddit.com/Diablo3Monks/comments/1yrgij/share_toughness_calculato) but added a few of my own tweaks as well.

How it works
- You must fill out all the green highlighted sections. These are your base stats and are used for the calculations on the spreadsheet. These can all be found in the 'Details' section of your character inventory in game (or right on the normal inventory), and should be pretty quick.
- The blue highlighted areas are for the stats you wish to add. If you wanted to see what 600 of your primary stat (it is class neutral, so if you are a Barb put your str, if you're a witch hunter your dex, etc) then enter it into the 'Additional Primary Attribute' box and you can see the damage change.
- New totals are at the bottom of the page in grey and bolded. Hopefully they are pretty obvious.
- You can see what 1 pt (or 1%) of each stat would add for you on the column to the right of the stat additions (blue) section. This is basically there as a quick reference, so you can see that at your current crit chance level 1% of CHD would add 1.4k dps and 1% of CC would add 4.4k dps. These will change dynamically as you fill in your own stats.
Caveats
- You absolutely need to replace my crappy stats which are in green with your own stats! This spreadsheet is useless to you if you don't do that. Also don't laugh at my Crusader stats, please.
- The damage formula seems pretty spot on but the toughness formula is off by a very small margin. The max hp is also slightly different. I believe this is due to some rounding liberties in the game, and how the different programs handle rounding these numbers. I'm guessing what I see on my stat screen is not 100% accurate and that accounts for the very small (.03%) discrepancy. If any Redditors smarter than I can figure it out certainly let me know.
- There are some buffs that might not be accounted for in damage/toughness. I'm a Crusader so my stats are pretty straight forward, if this misleads you I apologize. Hopefully it is still useful for you, and if you have a suggestion on how to improve it please let me know.

2013.09.28 09:51 Losdominos Tool I created to take notes about my games easily
Why I did it: I hate to take notes about my last game into Windows notebook, and I love coding in Java. So I said to myself, well lets make it easier. And I created LoL Notepad. It isn't good by any means nor good looking, but it does the job well. So I decided to share it with my fellow summoners. Also I have a lot of free time, so why not?
What it does: When you start the program, you choose what do you want to do, either make new note or read your existing notes. Clicking the "Write new note" button brings up new window with some fields, everyone labeled. You get to select what champion you played, what role you played, who was your lane oppponent (you can select mirror lane in this version even for ranked game, in some future versions I plan disabling this), difficulity of the matchup and your final score, the game type, your current LP and league, if you have chosen the ranked game type. Under this all is area to write your notes in. One known bug is that you can't use your Enter key here After clicking "Save" button, all of the data you put in are written to a file in src directory. Take in note, that champion names, roles and Leagues are loaded from small SQL database I made and uploaded it to free SQL server so you need to have internet connection active(I assume you do if you just played a LoL game and now take notes about it). Clicking the "Read existing notes" brings up new window where you can go through all your written notes, every line in table represents one game. If you click one of the lines, details of that game will appear. The "back" button brings the table back.

What it does: When you start the program, you choose what do you want to do, either make new note or read your existing notes. Clicking the "Write new note" button brings up new window with some fields, everyone labeled. You get to select what champion you played, what role you played, who was your lane oppponent (you can select mirror lane in this version even for ranked game, in some future versions I plan disabling this), difficulity of the matchup and your final score, the game type, your current LP and league, if you have chosen the ranked game type. Under this all is area to write your notes in. One known bug is that you can't use your Enter key here After clicking "Save" button, all of the data you put in are written to a file in src directory. Take in note, that champion names, roles and Leagues are loaded from small SQL database I made and uploaded it to free SQL server so you need to have internet connection active(I assume you do if you just played a LoL game and now take notes about it). Clicking the "Read existing notes" brings up new window where you can go through all your written notes, every line in table represents one game. If you click one of the lines, details of that game will appear. The "back" button brings the table back.

EDIT2: Everyone having problems with reading their notes, check your src/data.src in Windows notepad if it doesn't contain end of line characters between two last # (it's the notes field). I'm currently working on a fix.

I have decided to do a write up on how to get google authenticator working with Mac OS X. This will allow you to use the google authenticator code and user password to log into your mac. It works for me on 10.8.2 but YMMV. This is a quick and dirty write up and some level of unix knowledge is assumed. If you don't understand something use the googles first, then email me, or post here.
1. Setup First go ahead and download the PAM google authenticator and compile it yourself.

I used the command line version of Xcode and find it's easier. Find it here https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action

Next, Make sure you have the google authenticator application installed on your phone. You'll need it.
After compiling or extracting the binaries you will need to generate the secret key in your home directory by running "google-authenticator"
Import the key or QR code into the application on your phone.
Copy the file pam_google_authenticator.so to /uslib/pam
2. SSH (Optional, but provides you with a way in if you screw up, and you will)
Turn on ssh
Make backups of your /etc/pam.d/sshd and /etc/sshd_config files
in /etc/pam.d/sshd add the following line
auth required pam_google_authenticator.so
in /etc/sshd_config add the following line
ChallengeResponseAuthentication yes
Go ahead and reboot your mac, or restart sshd. When the system comes back online pull up a command prompt or try to log in from another machine. You should see the request for your google authenticator code 3rd. If this doesn't work go through your logs to see what you did wrong.
3. Setting up your login Mack a backup of your /etc/pam.d/authorization file
Edit your /etc/pam.d/authorization file and comment out the line
#auth required pam_opendirectory.so use_first_pass nullok
Add the following
auth required pam_google_authenticator.so forward_pass try_first_pass auth required pam_opendirectory.so use_first_pass
Reboot your system.
You should now be able to login with your password and your google authenticator key. Just type them in on the password line when you log into your mac, no spaces are required.
If you can't get in ssh into your machine and check your logs.
You're going to get a popup once both passwords are entered, just press "Continue Log In" You don't want to add the authenticator code to the keychain. This won't unlock your keychain, so if you have passwords stored in it they won't work.
4. Turn off ssh if you don't need it on.
5. Have some cake. Why not?

So, you bought the episodes on iTunes because you are a good sport and want to support the show. Unfortunately, TV shows you buy on iTunes are locked up nice and tight by Apple's DRM, meaning you can play it in iTunes and not really much else. Luckily, there's a cure for that - it's called Requiem. Requiem is a little program written in Java that can losslessly and permanently remove DRM from iTunes purchases. This has a number of advantages such as being able to watch the show on your media player of choice and on your device of choice (and on any number of devices). There are no ill side-effects, and you can still play the files in iTunes if you prefer. The current version of Requiem will not work with iTunes versions newer than 10.5.3, which means no 1080p yet, unfortunately.
What you will need
I have seen Requiem fail on 64-bit Windows systems with 64-bit Java installed. If you are getting null pointer exceptions, try removing all Java installations and download the 32-bit version instead (see link above) - or if you have the 32-bit version installed, try exchanging it for the 64-bit version.
Media players
I strongly recommend downloading CCCP and adopting Media Player Classic for viewing video. VLC's strength is that it is cross-platform and supports many formats. At the end of the day, CCCP and MPC produces a sharper, more vibrant image making techniques such as color correction unnecessary (in my opinion). See for yourself.
A word of warning
UnDRM'ed files will still contain some personal information such as your name and e-mail address and thus are not suited for sharing.
Bonus: Extracting music and frame sequences
Now that you've removed the DRM from your files you can also do other neat stuff such as extract music or sequences of frames to use for animated GIFs. To help you do this, you may download this zip file.
In "audio.bat" (right-click and select "Edit"), you will find a line looking like this:

I found the traditional MMO setup that defaults on the G13 (ie the WoW profile) doesn't really work with the G1 - G7 keys being exactly 1 - 7 hot bars. Your primary attack is weapon action 1, so it makes little sense having it where G1 is on the pad.

We are currently in pre-production for a series of 5 short films that are being executively produced by the Raindance Film festival and funded by Pepsi.
The brief outline of the stories are all based around the Atlantis myth, each film will be approximately 3 minutes long and cover a different time period in which humans have interacted with Atlanteans through history. These time periods are:
Though the work is unpaid, the promotional work will be taken and displayed in over 10 of the worlds biggest film festivals, along the with the films themselves, which are to be part of the main lineup of Raindance 2012. This would then be following onto a large scale feature, in which it will be completely paid. Also if any pieces can be produced by mid-May this year, they will be taken with us to the Cannes film Festival and displayed there.

Take note, while Motorola announced a few hours ago that the 2.0.1 update had begun rolling out to French and Italian users, this is NOT that update. This is simply a patch to go over the top of 2.0.
I advise anyone who wants to have root access when 2.0.1 arrives to ignore the OTA update message by choosing "install later" and waiting for a custom rooted 2.0.1, which should be available in the next 48 hours.

Instructions:
- Download milestone_root.zip from any of these links:
- http://rapidshare.de/files/49019165/milestone_root.zip
- http://www.sera-apps.de/milestone_root.zip
- http://alldroid.org/download/file.php?id=1139
- Rename the file to: update.zip
- Connect your Milestone to your PC via USB & select Memory Card Management in the notifications bar
- Once mounted, put the update.zip onto the root (Top Directory) of your SD Card
- Disconnect your Milestone from your PC by selecting “None” in the notification bar
- Power off your Milestone
- Hold down the Camera key on the side of the device and whilst doing so, press & hold the power button. Continue to hold them both done until you see a Triangle with an ! – Like: /!\
- Press the Volume Up button and the Camera button simultaneously until you get a menu popup
- Using the D-Pad on the Physical Keyboard, select the option to update with update.zip
- The update process may take a minute or two, but once completed, reboot the phone.
