Hi, I hope you all are doing good. I would like to share my experience as a first time voter which got completely ruined because of my parents.
Some background about my parents :
My parents are from UP and have done their post-graduation, so they are educated. They are extremely controlling, toxic and abusive. I have been going through a lot because of them. They are right-wing supporters, they are brainwashed andhbhakts and they believe that sanatan dharma is superior to all. I am an atheist and I am being forced to follow their religion, they expect me to be an andhbhakt like them. I dislike the idea of religion and God, I also dislike BJP and Modi because of various reasons while religious bigotry being the first one.
My parents believe Modi is their lord and saviour and they praise him all day long, even during dinner time. My parents always bring up politics and religion while I try to avoid it. Even if I criticise Modi and hinduism on valid points, I am labelled as a fool. My parents think that I have muslim friends who are manipulating me into becoming anti-hindu and anti-national, however it is not at all true, I have my own opinions and I don't even have any muslim friends.
How my experience of being a first time voter got ruined :
I recently turned 20. I was born and raised in Delhi. This was going to be the very first time I would vote and choose my representative. My parents were constantly trying to manipulate me to vote for BJP. I said that I will vote for whoever I like. After realising that they were not able to manipulate me, they started yelling and fighting with me, especially my father. He used to lecture me about "our dharma, our parivar, our duty, we should protect our dharma"
His words were "make sure that you press the button with a lotus flower on it, don't even read the list of candidates. We didn't bring you in this world to betray us like that, stay together as a family and obey us, you are not above us to use your own brain, do as we say. Do you have any muslim friends? Why do you always oppose us? Muslims always vote according to their family, they will outnumber us. Be a good hindu, vote for BJP only." When I said that it is illegal according to law to pressurize or manipulate a voter to vote for a particular party, "he said all laws are worthless, don't teach me."
I discussed this problem with people in USI general chat the night before voting in my area and they said this is very wrong of him but say on his face that you will vote for BJP and then later in the booth as nobody is going to check, vote for the representative you like.
I thought I would do the same, my father voted before me and then it was my turn right after him. His didn't leave me alone rather he kept standing there looking at me, I got extremely scared and felt pressurised to vote for BJP. I gave up and voted for BJP despite me not wanting to. If I didn't vote for BJP my parents would have yelled at me, my father would have slapped me and beaten me along with taking away my phone.
I was absolutely heartbroken, I felt so small and powerless that my abusive parents who don't let me control any aspect of my life and have made my life hell, didn't even let me practice my basic right to vote for a candidate of my liking. I was crying silently on the way back home.
Upon reaching home I asked him "why were you standing there? Why didn't you leave me alone? You know that's illegal right?" He began giving excuses like "it was your first time voting so I was there to look after and make sure you vote properly." I told him that I know how to press buttons. He became furious and started yelling " you don't tell me what's legal and illegal, I know everything and it is not a big deal, you are a family member so shut up and don't speak up otherwise I will break your ribs and legs and I will make sure you become obedient." He was very close to slapping me.
I felt very bad and I left the room, I cried all day yesterday so much so that my head started hurting. I haven't talked to my father since then and I am barely talking to my mother.
This post is about both, abusive parents and brainwashed right-wing supporters.

Hello Ladies Gents and everything in between! I hope you all are having a lovely evening! My name is Jay(21F), I have been playing DND for around 11 years now (Ya I was corrupted young). I started DMing around 5 years ago and haven't looked back since. I currently run a campaign and we play that one on both Friday and Saturday from 6 pm to 10 pm.

1: I already have one person who will be playing in this campaign. We would prefer a later session but can move the time around a bit. We aim to have sessions that run 4 hours at the least, but if everyone is free and wants to keep going, then we are game!
2: The campaign that will be run will be more free-range and sandbox-like. Meaning there is no main questline. The party will meet in some way and will travel together picking up quests and exploring the world to its fullest! This style of campaign can go on for as long as the players want and allows for freedom to do anything you want! From kingdom-making to being the villains!
3: Everyone is welcome! We don't turn anyone away! No matter how new you are or what you identify as you are welcome to apply! Everyone will be looked at equally!
4: Homebrew Rules And World! We don't follow the book like it's law! Where is the fun in that? So you are welcome to use homebrew content but It needs to be run by me first! I don't want any OP characters so I got to read and approve it before you use it!
5: Roleplay Heavy! I'm a sucker for roleplay I won't lie! My campaigns are roleplay-based BUT since this is an open-world campaign you all are welcome to fight your way through whatever you want just know you can almost always try and talk your way out of it!
6: We use Discord and roll20! We use Discord for any pictures or info I may send and many other things and roll20 for maps, character sheets, and rolling. We don't use video chat BUT we do use Voice!
7: We have dogs! I know this is random but that means there are chances for a stray bark to go through. It's just a warning as some get upset by it so before you decide to apply just know we have dogs!
Campaign Plot There are two options for plots and based on who is picked and what the preferred world is will determine which one it will be! You'll get to pick between the two or pick either in the application.
Into The Unknown
“Denus”, is a city that sits in what is believed to be the center of a forest called “Rajani” meaning darkness. A city of around 50,000 people, they all follow Lord Omi a high elf who has been in power for as long as anyone can remember. No one has ever questioned him accepting that they needed a leader at some point and crime was at an all-time low due to the harsh punishments.
The wost is banishment, while normally Lord Omi forbids anyone from entering unless they are told to. The body of the person who had been banished would either appear on the edge of the forest where they had entered a few days later half eaten or would never return. People feared this, not knowing what was killing them. However, when Pentrla and Will two half-elfs who had been banished nearly 50 years ago were found on the edge of the found on the edge of the forest in perfect health people became confused but curious.
Many wanted to travel into the forest in hopes of freedom, in hopes of something more. However. Lord Omi forbade it setting guards up around the edge of the forest and setting a curfew stating he wants to keep his people safe. People tired of getting banished and when he caught onto this he changed the punishment people began to give up hope.
That was all 50 years ago and many speak as if it was a myth or a fairy tale.
The Frontier
“In the past, that is now lost forever, there was a time when the land was sacred and the ancient ones were as one with it. A time when only the children of the great spirit were here, to light their fires in these places with no boundaries, when the forest were as thick as the fur of the winter bear, and when a warrior could walk from horizon to horizon on the backs of the buffalo. And that time when there were only simple ways, I saw with my heart the conflicts to come, and whether it would be for good or bad, there was one thing certain; there would be change.”
This is a wild west, a land of adventure and time for romance, Cowboys/cowgirls roam the plains driving cattle. Gamblers and prostitutes profit from boom towns that rise and fall nearly overnight. Salesmen peddle their wares, while lawmen try their best to keep the peace - yet it scarcely takes more than a stolen horse or a bad hand of poker to put bodies in the ground.

Wizards are called Magicians, Warlocks are called Contractors, Clerics are called missionaries(might change to peachers), Druids are called Shamans, Rouges are called Outlaws, and Homebrews will be renamed to be more fitting as well.

Very inexperienced in SWU, but I’ve played a ton of TCGs before. Did the showdown event at my local shop, and was very happy with how it turned out! Ended up taking second place with Tempo Boba, it is a very fun deck to play! Still need a few cards to finish the list out, just still performs well as is. Recap of top cut below
Top 8 - Yellow Sabine -> 2-1
Lost game 1 w/o initiative, went tempo really well games 2 and 3. Lots of board control with bounce, plus exhaust and bounce from cunning helped a ton.
Top 4 - Blue Palp -> 2-0
Lost 0-2 in rounds, but figured out I needed to go faster against a control deck. Got good aggressive hands both game 1 and 2, multiple surprise strikes and cunning’s hit really hard. Main turning point game 1 was being able to drop Firespray after another unit was entrenched, hit with it and then surprise striked with it for game next turn. Second game he wasn’t able to answer the Boba flip and was able to surprise strike for game (whiffed on his second Darth Vader play as well, but I think I still have lethal either way).
Top 2 - Green Luke -> 0-2
Lost to him in some close games during Swiss 1-2. Never really found any bounce to deal with stuff like Obi Wan. He pretty easily handled my early plays and got to a point I just couldn’t do anything about his board. Never really spent much time playing this matchup so just really inexperienced here

First things first unmastered UI absolutely sucks. UI Daniel have literally sold Daniel out every single time he used it without drugs in the mix. Being nerfed to prolongue a fight when your ability is running on a timer is just worthless. Sold against Jerry, sold against Gun, sold against Goo(and there he had drugs). I dont care if he was winning while he had UI he woke up and got punked after. Second thing I see people just run with. He nerfs himself so he is never trying. This is not the case because UI will try maximun efficiency always it will never take damage if it can avoid it(we still talking unmastered here Gun tanking things because he is a weirdo is another thing). We see this with Daniel fighting Jichang, the 3rd affiliate, Jerry. UI Daniel will not take damage as long as it can help it. So when Gun is fighting him blow for blow and Jinyoung literally grabbed him by an ankle and smashed him against a wall you best believe UI SB Daniel was at full capacity I dont doubt he was going to win those fights but no UI SB Daniel with mastered UI isnt low diffing top tiers thats crazy. And the last thing and the whole reason I believe the UI state is not the end all be all of the series and this is true for both UI mastered and unmastered. Ultra instinct is not physically buffing you in any way shape or form. You are not moving faster, you are not hitting harder, you are not capable of doing things you werent able to do without it all you are getting is efficiency and thats definitly an improvement timing and rythm are often more important than speed but the interpretations of it by fans are crazy.  | Hi, back with more Jewish-related architecture! This is the Memorial to Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin; the competition took place in 1994-97, Eisenman (and artist Richard Serra) won it in 1999, and construction took place from 2003-04. It was inaugurated on May 10th of 2005. submitted by dr_icicle to Judaism [link] [comments] The architect, Peter Eisenman, is an American Jewish Architect, a member of the New York Five (Eisenman, Michael Graves, Charles Gwathmey, John Hejduk, and Richard Meier; Meier is also Jewish). Eisenman is very modernist/deconstructive -- see the Wexner Center for the Arts, House VI, and the City of Culture of Galicia. Eisenman is a prominent figure in the architectural world and I think his design for this memorial has noble intentions, but is let down by how the public interacts with it. As a rundown of the design/site: The Memorial to Murdered Jews is a very prominent memorial to the Holocaust built near the former site of the Reich Chancellery (built by the Nazi architect Albert Speer; horrific person, though there's a painting a postwar German artist Anselm Kiefer reinterpreting the gallery in his piece "Aschenblume"; I digress), and the Fuhrerbunker, where Hitler committed suicide. The above-ground portion consists of 2,711 concrete stelae (vertical slabs) of various heights arranged on a rolling landscape, so that some are knee-level or lower, and some tower over you; the tallest is about 15 ft / 4.7 meters. The stelae are entirely blank (a point of contention -- will cover later), and the site is roughly square-ish. However: the stelae, and indeed most of the massive 4.7 acre site (above-ground), is utterly devoid of Jewish symbols, and of names, and of really any context of this being a memorial to the Holocaust. This is a point of contention, to the point where Israeli secretary of state (from 1992 to 2015) Silvan Shalom refused to visit the memorial, and instead went to the Grunewald Railway station in Berlin (site of deportations). Site Stelae Stelae; rolling topography The use of the above-ground portion is functionally left up to the visitor; this means that, while the site is intended as a memorial, the utter lack of Jewish symbols, or even labeling the site Holocaust rather than simply murdered Jews, has meant that people treat it almost like a public park. Jumping on the stelae, urinating in the site, eating lunch there, taking photoshoots (including for dating apps); Eisenman was personally mostly-okay with this from what I can tell, but it's obviously not great for a Holocaust memorial. There is an underground information centre, though it's frankly a bit hidden in the site, and as far as I can tell receives a lot less visitors than the stelae. It covers the Nazi'sp plan for the Holocaust and Jews as a whole, then breaks into four rooms--Room of Dimensions (diaries of victims), Room of Families (following fifteen Jewish families), Room of Names (including all known names of Holocaust victims as listed in the Yad Vashem, although the entire list would take something like six years and seven months to view with how they present it), and the Room of Sites, which covers sites of mass killings/extermination camps/etc. There are eight stelae in the Room of Sites showing the seven death camps and massacre at the Babi Yar ravine. (See my previous post for the Synagogue built there by Manuel Herz architects.) Entry to Information Centre Room of Dimensions Room of Families Room of Sites Room of Names The memorial is important in an architectural and historical sense, though it does seem to have some influence from Daniel Libeskind's Jewish Museum (also in Berlin, about 3 km / 2 miles away), in specifics his "Garden of Exile", though the timelines are pretty scrunched and I personally don't really think Eisenman ripped it off. (Although-- Libeskind's Jewish Museum is a significantly better work, I think, though I haven't been able to visit either because I do not have Germany types of money. Sighs.) There are a number of interpretations for this site: the stelae as gravestones, symbolizing the identities being stripped from Jews during the Holocaust; the undulating ground symbolizing chaos and instability; the stelae towering over you as a sense of vulnerability. On Eisenman's project page for it he said this: In this monument there is no goal, no end, no working one’s way in or out. The duration of an individual’s experience of it grants no further understanding, since understanding the Holocaust is impossible. The time of the monument, its duration from top surface to ground, is disjoined from the time of experience. In this context, there is no nostalgia, no memory of the past, only the living memory of the individual experience.My interpretation at the time of the presentation was that, while his intentions were noble, his lack of prominent names/symbols relating to Jews (the information centre is literally underground) hindered the project. I pointed out a number of names -- Meir David Mincberg in the Room of Names photograph, the names of the eight death camps/Babi Yar in the Room of Sites-- and segued into the Simchat Torah massacre as a sign that we need to remember history, we need to learn from the Holocaust, or it will happen again. (This is the first time I remember the lecture hall being entirely silent during a presentation, also.) Overall, a very interesting project. While Eisenman's architectural style is definitely a distinct one, and personally not my favorite style, his design for this project is very poignant. I'd love to visit it. |

I'm a fairly inexperienced player and I'm going to be playing against the strongest player in my group and I'm trying not to make this too easy for him. He knows I'm bringing AM and I know he's bringing DG. My strategy with this is to spread my artillery out in my deployment zone to screen out deep strikes. I'm hoping to use the Earthshakers and Basilisks to cripple his movement, particularly on the flanks, and run the tanks and infantry block up the middle. I'm hoping the Scions+Ghosts can threaten his home objective. I hope to use the Hydras to kill Blight Drones and put some work into Morty. One thing that concerns me with this is not having enough firepower especially if my Rogal Dorn or Demolisher gets popped early, especially if he goes heavy on Plaguebursters, and I'm expecting at least one Annihilator.

- hobbies (example, I had to learn mandarin when I'm not interested in the culture, I wanted to learn to sing and was allowed but I was prevented from choosing the genres. so I learned pop instead of folk.

Won a local RTT today with my Raptors! 3 rounds and 10 players, 92-41, 71-57, 97-57! Here's the list for anyone who's interested. The main strat is use the Speeder to give +1 to prio targets and the preds + executione lancer dump into it. grav centurions get picked up every turn w/ Guerilla Tactics and they spam Strike from the Shadows for the +1 AP and +1 to BS. scouts for points/ actions. I was just randomly browsing through FB Marketplace and had this reawakening of my love for 90s compact crossovers. What caught my attention right now is the Honda CR-V.
Comes in with a B20 2.0L DOHC engine and AWD, this compact crossover comes with a lot if perks. Performance says that this is not your racer. Nor should you expect it to be. But with a powerful B20 engine and its AWD, you're going from Point A to Point B no sweat. Inclines or rough terrain ain't posing a threat to this car.
It doesn't have a center armrest for the driver. But that's because it got 2 captain seats up front with their own arm rests. It has a center table in between for drinks and small items like maybe a sandwich or some rfid cards. The passenger space at the back is very roomy with individual arm rests for both passengers too. Cargo space is huge for a compact crossover but you get the option to fold the rear seats down for even more space.
Speaking of the cargo area, some people who own a Gen 1 CR-V don't even know to this day that they have a CR-V Branded picnic table beneath the stock carpet in the cargo area. It's cute and practical quirk this car has. Opening the cargo area, you can either just open the rear windshield if you're just getting stuff in and out or open also the rear door for more accessibility. You get to sit at the back of the car and the rear door also has a hook to place your garbage bag for those outdoor activities.
Exterior body kits are also available for this car for those who want to set it up. Slap some 17s on it, go for 2 options in JDM or maybe go for the USDM and you got yourself a looker. And the best part of it all, the size of this car is just right. It's big enough to be roomy for your passengers but not too big to make it look like a dad car.
I could go on to list out a lot of things I love about this car as I daydream of owning one. But for those who actually do own one, you gotta consider yourselves lucky.
