Whispers of the Forgotten Garden

2024.05.04 19:33 Head-Imagination-216 Whispers of the Forgotten Garden

Beneath the moon’s silver veil, a forgotten garden blooms. Its flowers whisper secrets to the night, and the stars listen. In whispered tones, the flowers reminisce, Of daylight's blaze and tempest's kiss. Famine's hunger, aching roots recall, And weeks of floods that swept through all.
The forgotten garden, keeper of lore, Sings its ballad to the moon once more. Secrets woven in petals, stars' silent plea, A symphony of memories, whispered free.
In that forgotten garden's quiet embrace, Petals bloom like whispered grace. Their fragrant sighs, a soft refrain, Yet humans pass, their hearts untouched by pain.
The roses blush, their crimson hue, A love story etched in morning dew. But who tends their thorns, their fragile stem? Who lingers to hear their whispered hymn?
Jasmine weaves her moon-kissed scent, A symphony of longing, heaven-sent. Yet hands that pluck her stars at dawn, Forget to water her roots, to linger on.
Daisies, humble in their innocence, Blossom beneath the sun's benevolence. But footsteps trample their tender dreams, As fleeting as forgotten moonbeams.
Oh, human heart, behold these blooms, Their transient beauty, their quiet dooms. For love is not just in the inhale of scent, But in nurturing roots, a lifelong commitment.

My 2nd project ever, and first granny square! Unsure about adding a border?
There are a few tiny mistakes and 2/3 squares that are too big and I want to redo, but I’m so freaking proud of myself! Sorry to anyone who’s bored of seeing the retro daisy! I have a Persian rug in my room that was handmade by my late grandmother, which I’ve always valued but I appreciate the work that went into it sooooo much more now. I intend to forcibly pass this blanket onto my future grandchildren whether they like it or not😂
Im thinking of adding a cream border around the squares, what do y’all think? Also, would the width of the border be different if I joined with single crochet vs adding a row of single crochet to each square and then doing an invisible join? I’m also considering a different arrangement because I’m not crazy about the orange petal/yellow background and yellow petal/orange background squares being next to each other - what do you guys think about this?
I just read on another post that you should weave in ends after blocking, but I’ve already woven about half the squares. Am I screwed?😬
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and celebrating my “grandma hobby” as my mom calls it🥲

2024.05.03 08:16 Plane-Swan8509 What Are the Pros and Cons of Dental Crowns?

What Are the Pros and Cons of Dental Crowns?
Imagine this: you've just stepped out of the dentist's office with a brand-new dental crown, and your smile feels as fresh as a daisy. But hold on a second! Before you dive headfirst into the world of dental crowns, let's take a moment to consider both the good and the not-so-good sides of this popular dental procedure.
In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the perks and pitfalls of dental crowns, empowering you to make a smart and savvy decision about whether crown dentistry is the right choice for you. So, buckle up and get ready to uncover all the ins and outs of this dental adventure!

What are Dental Crowns?

https://preview.redd.it/wxbeq6sul5yc1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=571a26cf2701157b50a138298cf0d877a653a2fa
Dental crowns are specialized caps that replace broken or weak teeth, giving them back their strength, size, and form.
They enhance appearance while safeguarding the dental structure beneath. Crown dentistry will help you to address issues like tooth decay, fractures, and large fillings, providing a durable solution for dental restoration.

Pros of Dental Crowns

1. Restoration of Tooth Structure- Dental crowns provide a durable and long-lasting solution for restoring teeth that are damaged, decayed, or weakened. They can strengthen and protect the underlying tooth structure, preventing further deterioration.
2. Improved Aesthetics- With advancements in dental technology, crowns can be customized to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, resulting in a seamless and aesthetically pleasing smile. Just imagine the dental crowns before and after – it's like a smile makeover!
3. Versatility- Dental crowns can address a variety of dental issues, including tooth decay, fractures, large fillings, and even cosmetic imperfections like discoloration or misalignment. They are a versatile treatment option for patients of all ages.
4. Longevity- Dental crowns are a dependable and useful solution for restoring dental health and function, and they can last for many years if properly cared for. Your crown can last for many years if you maintain appropriate oral hygiene practices and schedule routine dental exams.
5. Comfort- Once the initial adjustment period is over, dental crowns feel comfortable and natural in the mouth, allowing you to chew, speak, and smile with confidence.
Have you ever experienced any of these benefits of dental crowns? If not, are you curious to explore how they could enhance your smile?

Cons of Dental Crowns

Are there any concerns or hesitations you have about undergoing a dental crown procedure? Let's address them together.
1. Cost- One of the primary drawbacks of dental crowns is the cost, as they can be more expensive than other dental treatments. However, considering their longevity and benefits, many patients view them as a worthwhile investment in their oral health.
2. Time Commitment- The dental crown procedure typically requires multiple appointments, including tooth preparation, impressions, and placement. While advancements in technology have streamlined the process, it still requires a time commitment from the patient.
3. Sensitivity- Some patients may experience temporary sensitivity or discomfort after receiving a dental crown, especially if the underlying tooth was extensively damaged or treated. However, this usually resolves on its own within a few days to weeks.
4. Risk of Complications- Like any dental procedure, there is a risk of complications with dental crowns, such as infection, nerve damage, or allergic reactions to materials used. However, if a dentist with experience performs the procedure, the dangers are negligible.
5. Permanent Alteration- To accommodate the crown, the dentist may need to remove a significant portion of the natural tooth structure. While this is necessary for proper fit and function, it's important to understand that the tooth will be permanently altered.

Conclusion

Dental crowns offer a multitude of benefits for restoring and enhancing dental health and aesthetics. From strengthening weakened teeth to improving smile aesthetics, crowns are a versatile and reliable treatment option.
However, it's essential to consider the potential drawbacks and weigh them against the benefits before proceeding with crown dentistry.
By discussing your concerns and goals with a trusted dentist in Simi Valley, you can make an informed decision about whether dental crowns are the right choice for you.

2024.05.02 21:52 hotchilliflake Help opinion needed

I am a married female in a Long distance relationship
We have planned to visit in 2nd weekend may. I got stuff like bath salts candles colors petals to make the weekend stay wonderful i was planning on surprising him with wine
but should i go on doing such romantic stuff coz even after so many times that i have given him head he only once gave me oral and said it weird and disgusting i felt hurt though i have perfect hygiene and yet he never wants to do and i sent him flowers gifts and card on valentines ordered his favourite pastry when he was preparing for an exam I keep texting him nice things naughty things lovely stuff daily but not even once he says any of those by himself
i also want to be treated nice without asking for it something small but nice
I love him but at times i feel like im insufficient
if i ask why cant we talk longer he gets irritated and says i have to get up at 5am unlike you who can sleep all day (i am a full time medical professional) - that really hurt
so after that i never expect him to talk after 10:30pm
may 1 was holiday i thought we can talk on april 30 he said he wanted to watch game on TV as he was planning so long to watch along with friends . I was ok with that actually
I was excited the next morning (holiday) thinking we can talk I called him around 11 no response so i thought he would be resting i texted saying some cute stuff he left it on seen did not even respond. i texted something about travel difficulties and i wanted to change the meeting place he immediately called and said to try for the same place only and he cut the call (seriously i have been planning so hard continuously for 4 days) still i didn't feel bad. again in evening i called no response. i felt a little sad but i was waiting for his call
till 10pm that night i was at my breaktoom waiting for his call without having dinner or shower i thought ill talk to him in privacy do some naughty stuff over VC 10:15 i got frustrated and left and he gave missed call not even 2 rings at 10:30 his sleeping time
i felt so unwanted i felt like crying i went showered and ate dinner
i missed him so much i wore his grey tshirt after shower
i didn't want to talk to him but he made me call him and now he wants to talk to me and expects me to be as usual he said sorry but i was disappointed and he said we talk daily what more u want i really felt like crying
i cried
didn't sleep for the whole night
today i wanted to text him send some reel (he never responds anyways to my inta messages)
hereafter, apart from the allotted time ill not text or call
no more expectations from him
though i like doing romantic things ill stop hereafter whatever i feel like ill do it for myself
I think at this rate we will drift away
once i had abortion and he should have come to meet me (at that time he waiting for his placement at his parents place - he was not busy) im still not able to understand why he wouldn't come that day. i did not want to get married to him i even wanted to stop the marriage. Though I forgave him prior to marriage I am now subconsciously scared that he would abandon me
He has said multiple times not as a joke bit with conviction that he will not take responsibility of taking care of baby like helping me in feeding or changing or putting it to sleep he says always that I should have my mom with me after i get pregnant . and wants to put the kid in boarding school I asked him why to have a baby at all for that he said "I want to be a father " does he even know the meaning behind the term father
I SERIOUSLY DO NOT WANT KIDS IF HE RETAINS THIS ATTITUDE
At this point I don't know if Im just overthinking or Im genuinely scared

Help with similar or adapting
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of a similar pattern (or portion of a pattern) that would create hexagon with petals or spikes. I found a pattern that I thought would be perfect but when working it up it is much too dense, I would like something a little airy, holey, lacy. When they are joined they will create the Flower of Life pattern, I put photos of both the pattern and the FOL. I am making a tunic, so just need two rectangles to join at the shoulders and waist. There is a Flower of Life pattern but I'm not a big fan of how it would work out as a large piece. So on the pattern included here, would it be feasible to only do the increase corner dc, and chain the inside so the inside of the petal part is not solid yarn? Or is there anything I could replace those inside stitches with? I can't think of any, they are in uneven groups, 1, 3, 5, 7, on the insides of the increase stitches. Hope this makes sense!!

Ideas to cover awkwardly sized dress ribbon tail.
I love my tattoo, but im constantly annoyed by the placement and size of the dress ribbon tail on the right, next to the head. I was debating between covering it up somehow, or at least adding something to the tattoo that overlaps it. I was photoshoping things like Name fonts, other things like flower petals, etc. I need some ideas. Also, because this is a colored piece, is black the only color i can ask to overlap/cover that part?

2024.04.29 15:01 Amazing-Addition9213 New Troop....help!

I am a brand new troop leader. In fact our troop is (at the time of writing this) a few days old. We are a mixed group k-3td grade. The break down (currently but may change as word gets out about our new troop) is 2 in kinder, 3 in 1st grade and 1 in 2nd grade, and this will change in the fall as they will move up in grades. My thought was to start the kinder kids in Daisys and just do everyone in Browines. I can't see paying for the Daisy uniform right now and then in 5ish months paying for the Browine uniform. But then do we work on the "Bridging items"? Should I even have the girls work on the petals?
We have not had a meeting yet, but I wanted to get this information together first and then talk to the parents. Also what is everyone's opinion on how much dues should be? I want to say when I was a GS (back in the 80's) dues were 10/month. I was thinking 20 just to get everything situated first then reevaluate in the coming months.
Thank you all so much!

2024.04.29 03:26 Meowfurion15 White ink highlights…?

I had this finished a couple of months ago. I am second guessing the placement & due to other reasons, I am considering removal. There are white ink “highlights” in the flower petals, leaves, and part of the dagger. It’s very little amount of white ink but it’s a concern when using laser?
This is a “half sleeve” I guess with lots of empty space. Mostly black ink only.
I am aware this is going to take a 3+ years probably… opinions on whether I can get full removal possibly?
This photo is after I took the bandage off. In general I am fairly light skin tone. The lighting makes my skin look more yellow than it really is. I would say, I am ghostly white 😂
My options are removery & a local laser removal place that specializes in tattoo removal. The local laser removal place uses q switch & pico second laser. (I am not sure of brand). I made a consult appt for the local place but it’s not until June. I am also considering going to removery to get a consult.
Any advice or opinions is welcome :) please no negative comments as I am feeling pretty insecure about this :(

2024.04.27 19:12 T2007 4 Virtual Consults +1 in store +1 group lesson experience

Spent March and April trying to update my routine and amp up my look. I’m 51 now, things are fading away and it’s taken awhile for me to learn the whole self care thing and accept I’m worth spending $ on. I tried a variety of ways to learn beyond Reddit and YouTube so here goes.
Warning—I wouldn’t do some of these if on a low buy situation. It’s very hard to resist spending when you get great recommendations and they all follow up with coupons/promos. I decluttered and knew what I needed to get and I still spent more than planned. I considered this my birthday splurge.
Overall, I learned from all of this that I really need to learn not only how to hold makeup brushes, but also how much pressure to apply and even how much product to put on each brush. If anyone has recommendations there I’d appreciate it. Most YouTube videos I find seem to say which brush for what but not the finer details.
Also, I learned I’m not saving $ with clear lipliner and that pigment in the lipliner helps. I also got confirmation that I should wear neutral foundations which took me many, many years to figure out on my own.
Also, the MUAs know their products so well so book an appt to get help to use the brand’s products better.
Play by play of what I did in what order below:
Smashbox-free-30 minutes-virtual. I was looking at their site and found they had free virtual service and I was able to book for a few hours later. MUA was Arya. She was great. I told her about a little Smashbox eye palette that I panned that’s discontinued and she recommended the petal metal covershot palette. She showed me how to use one of the colors as highlighter too. She also gave me tips for using up my makeup and made recommendations for things that are dual purpose like a cheek and lip balm. It was a color I thought was too dark (sunset) but I did get it and like it so far. She also told me about this product called fast response eye cream from Mac. I had no idea there was even an eye product like that. She sent a follow up email with link to tutorial and a 20% off code. I have no idea how long that code will be active. I purchased her recommendations at the cosmetics company store 6/$60 sale. Her email also encouraged me to book another appointment for a lesson so I might.
Mac Store-In person-cost of products. 1 1/2 hours and they do have free 15 minute appointments that can be scheduled. I called and asked if I could get a full face lesson if I bought product and did it on a slow day. They said yes, I went in a Tuesday afternoon. When I got there the MUA was working alone and not aware. She accommodated my request and I just waited in between customers. She taught me how to place blush better and concealer better which were my concerns. She kept it easy and applied the fast response eye cream also. I bought the eye cream, setting spray, lip primer and small size of the hyperreal balm. I loved the shade Melba blush that she used on me but I didn’t buy because I have too many blushes I don’t use. I still think it’s weird I went to Mac and didn’t leave with color and pigmented things but that’s how it went. I don’t know if you book online if they follow up with an email with a discount. The week I went Mac had 25% for loyalty members.
Terri Tomlinson-$46-virtual-text face analysis. Find under virtual services on her site. This was very well worth it. There are no instructions to send photos so I just sent an email with photos. Also, the site makes you set a date and time but it won’t happen at that date and time. I ordered on March 10 and got on March 28. It was very good. Lots of tweaks I could make that I never thought of or knew. She printed the photo I sent and drew all over it and texted that photo and 4 different video clips each explaining something different. The colors were similar to what I use and the recommendations about placement were very helpful. I should have done this when I was much younger because it took so long for me to figure out best colors for me. Next time I go to Dallas, I want to work it in a way I can get an in person lesson with her. She recommended her own products, products from a brand called Senna, and Mac products for my lips. It was very hard not to buy the products. I decided I need to learn how to depot things and make a custom palette with her recommendations because I know I can cobble something together with what I have. If you do this, send a good photo taken in natural light. My photo was up against a beige wall and I could have posed more straight.
In Person Group Lesson-$100-3 hours. Houston has a place called Makeup Artist Project that hosted this biggest waste of my $ and time ever. It was advertised as bring your own makeup, they’d teach soft glam look and help you with application. It said we’d learn lashes so I bought some. I think the MUA was new to teaching. The MUA had a model she applied makeup to and it was displayed on a large tv also. Someone from the store reminded the MUA to stop and let us apply foundation and that’s the only time there was a pit stop to apply makeup. There was no walking around and checking in on students or getting practice. Just watching the MUA apply to someone else with an explanation. There was 20% off to shop in store. I bought an eyelash curler, some sponges, puffs, a cream contour palette, and an eye cream like that Mac fast reponse but from Moira.
Nars—free-virtual-30 minutes. This was my favorite. The MUA was Ashley Z and she was amazing. I showed her my favorite eye palette I use just about every day in my car (Nars Suede) before I go to work. She asked how I used it and I told her I’m a one color on the lid person and when I attempt crease colors or cat eye look I feel like I make a mess and it all settles in wrong places. She said for my eye I don’t need to do cat eye things and that’s why following YouTube videos doesn’t always work because every has a different face. She taught me how to do an eye look with two colors and I’ve been doing that and holy hell—she was right. I’ve been doing it and it looks great. She also showed me that I didn’t need to pack so much eye shadow on the brushes. She made fabulous recommendations and taught me why I have to set my foundation too. I thought it was no big deal that I did setting powder after bronzer and eyes but learned I’m wrong there. She also explained that the light reflecting foundation separates because it has skin care and to shake the heck out of it. She agreed I’m using the right concealer shade and helped match me for the light reflecting foundation. She was so good. She followed up with an email with the recommendations and a 20% off. I bought the setting powder and a single eyeshadow and sharpener. She also told me new face and eye palettes are coming out soon and they should have good colors for me. The NARS store here in Houston does a makeup lesson for $100 that you can use toward products so I think I’ll do that this fall and get the light reflecting foundation.
Bobbi Brown-free-15 minutes-virtual. MUA, Jaime Perez was amazing. Also looks like I can just email him right back. I told him I can’t apply the cream shadows well, that they look chalky and asked for advice on doing a purply lip—if that would be workable with my coloring. He showed me how to warm up the eye creams with my fingers before applying. Told me to wait till fall/winter on the dark purple. He was just so welcoming and awesome. He emailed recommendations and said I could book an application lesson with him when I get the products. His email had a scheduling link. I’m so doing this. He was the only one of the brand reps that shared his specific social media-@jaimevp_makeup on insta.

2024.04.27 17:23 Significant_Sort7501 Looking for general feedback on a future design.

Looking for general feedback on a future design.
Working on a design I'd like to get done in the fall when it won't get too much sun exposure. The idea is coffee plant with fairy berries. Everything in the image is clip art so just conceptual at this point.
I'm generally happy with the placement. Right now I'm mostly looking for input on the fairy berries. I've tried a couple different versions and they seem, to me at least, to give off more insect vs fairy. I had another version where I used the flower petals as wings, but they looked like red gnats. Looking for some creative suggestions on what else I could try with them. I don't particularly want to go larger than what they currently are, but I am also aware that may limit my options because they won't have as much detail. Open to any other creative and constructive design input about other aspects of the overall concept as well. Thanks!

Is the rosebud too small?
I got this tattoo a couple days ago. After we decided on this placement, my artist made the stencil a little bigger, but I like the smaller one more because it looked snuggled in that spot.
Now that it’s done, though, I can’t help but think I should’ve went with the bigger one. The tattoo itself I love, but I keep thinking how small the rosebud looks compared to the butterfly it’s next to and it’s driving me nuts!
Any thoughts? Am I overthinking it? Should I have him add two or three more petals along the top to make it a little bigger? Or some leaves on the top right or even a mini rosebud?
First two photos are my tattoo, third photo of the blue rose is how I’d add extra leaves, fourth photo is how I’d add a mini rosebud. Would love any advice, thanks y’all 🥹

Yeah ok.
I was definitely on the jet seed path. Pearl on uncle -> scout bow on lumberjack -> yolo into kak well and get bombs. Decided to grab byrna at race game since going up the mountain was in my immediate future and it might be hard required for an spike cave if I find the hammer. Grab fire rod, quake, flute, and THREE SWORDS on the mountain. Activate flute, go do all the easy fast checks (south shore, water walk). Decided to do Hera next (and do the DW map check that I forgot earlier)...should have done Saha first (hammer) I think. Ended up isolating spike cave as a result but luckily it was nothing.
As I was heading to Mothula I realized I was somaria and a potential MM medallion away from go mode if I bothered picking up the bow on lumberjack, so I decided to just skip the front of SW entirely (it's really slow...you can always come back later).
Wanted the medallion knowledge ASAP, so did mire/DP area checks and got the other bow (!) from Agina. Then PoD->EP->VoO+TT->smith chain and do all the checks until grabbing cane from pyramid. It didn't feel right to dive into IP early, doing everything else is so much more efficient. I probably would have done IP after pyramid ledge/fairy/front of escape though.
The seed was exciting in a way but also extremely boring because 27 minutes in I knew exactly what order I was going to do all of my checks in for the next 20 minutes, and then after that I was in go mode, so I played over half the seed without making any routing decisions. I brainfarted and mirrored at bombos tablet instead of the purple chest spot for some reason but again luckily that didn't matter.
I would have skipped EP vanilla big key chest even if it was a guaranteed item (was a 50/50, item was on armos anyways). And in MM compass chest had a small key so I knew I had to go straight to cutscene chest from there.
I made use of the blue pot, green pot, fairy pot, byrna, and half magic. Lanmo 2 gave me an awful pattern but everything worked out. I also nailed GT torches 1 again, wooo!!

🔗Big Agnes Greystone 0° Sleeping Bag - Lightweight and Versatile

https://preview.redd.it/oey5mnfgnewc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e1677c91afffc964dbe5e6d269eda9b8222d1a44
I recently had the chance to try out the Big Agnes Greystone 0° sleeping bag, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations! The first thing I noticed was the lightweight and compact design, which made it perfect for my camping and hiking adventures. The mummy shape was cozy and roomy, allowing me to move around comfortably at night.
One of the key features that stood out to me was the high-quality insulation made from DownTek down. It kept me warm and toasty even in chilly temperatures, making it a great choice for various seasons. The baffle construction also ensured efficient heat distribution throughout the bag, keeping me snug and cozy all night long.
Another highlight of the Greystone sleeping bag was its PFC-free coating, which repelled moisture and kept me dry during my outdoor adventures. This added layer of protection was a game-changer, especially on longer trips. The zipper closure was smooth and easy to use, while the regular and left-zip options offered flexibility to suit different preferences.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks I encountered while using the Greystone sleeping bag. On occasion, the feathers from the insulation would poke through the fabric, resulting in some feathers coming loose. Additionally, the bag had a slightly higher price point compared to other options in the market.
Despite these minor setbacks, the Big Agnes Greystone 0° sleeping bag proved to be an excellent investment for my outdoor adventures. Its lightweight and compact design, versatile temperature rating, and high-quality materials made it a dream to use on backpacking trips and other camping excursions. If you're in the market for a top-of-the-line mummy shaped bag for all-season use, the Greystone should definitely be on your shortlist.

🔗Comfortable, Lightweight Sleeping Bag for All Outdoor Adventures

https://preview.redd.it/ujnqop6hnewc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e4c79754b43343ee13add00860dd396072da8840
First, let me share with you my experience of using the Big Agnes Lost Dog 45°. I've been using this product for months now, and it has become my go-to sleeping bag for camping and backpacking. I must say, the roomy rectangle-shaped sleeping space and the integrated Flex Pad Sleeve make it so much more comfortable compared to other sleeping bags I've used before.
One thing that I love about this product is the fact that it is made from technical fabrics and construction, with 100% recycled, super-warm insulation. It's impressive to know that we're not only getting a comfortable sleeping bag but also contributing to a greener environment.
However, there's one downside to using this product - the anti-snag zipper could be more convenient. Sometimes, it takes a bit of effort to close the zipper, which can be frustrating during those cold and lazy camping mornings. Other than that, I have nothing but praise for this product.
All in all, the Big Agnes Lost Dog 45° is a comfortable, lightweight, and eco-friendly product that has become an essential part of my camping and backpacking gear.

🔗Luxurious Big Agnes Sidewinder Camp 35 Sleeping Bag, Perfect for Side Sleepers

https://preview.redd.it/3uj9b6nhnewc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7dd7e5ce1cc50a458a503077313f86ee29de7b0e
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Big Agnes Sidewinder Camp 35 sleeping bag, and I must say, it has become a staple in my camping gear collection. As a side sleeper, I was initially skeptical about how comfortable this bag would feel during the night, but I was pleasantly surprised.
One feature that stood out was the cocoon-style design of the bag. It allowed the bag to flex with my movements, never feeling restrictive. The horizontal baffles created tunnels of warmth around my body, preventing insulation from shifting and creating cold spots. This was especially noticeable in the hood area, which has a one-handed cinch adjustment that lets you lift and move your head comfortably even when fully zipped up.
The insulation in the bag is made of premium FireLine ECO synthetic insulation, an environmentally-conscious lightweight, compressible fill that retains its ability to keep me warm in damp or wet conditions. The nylon ripstop shell fabric with a DWR finish did a great job of protecting against the elements, while the polyester taffeta lining enhanced my overall comfort.
Now, there is one aspect of the bag that I found less than ideal: the zipper. It's not snag-free, and I found myself repeatedly getting the baffle material caught in the zipper, which was quite frustrating. Overall, though, the pros outweighed the cons for me, and I would highly recommend the Big Agnes Sidewinder Camp 35 sleeping bag to any side sleeper looking for a reliable and warm camping companion.

🔗Big Agnes Torchlight 30 Degree Sleeping Bag for Outdoor Adventures

https://preview.redd.it/2pylo74inewc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c343004901aff1a7f0e5c592860ddef5fb945b5
The Big Agnes Torchlight 30 Sleeping Bag is a versatile sleeping solution for backpacking or camping in warm to cool temperatures. This mummy-style bag boasts a unique expandable feature, thanks to its weather-resistant treated down insulation. Its 600-fill DownTek insulation ensures protection even in wet or damp conditions.
One of the most striking features of this bag is the zippered side panels that run from the shoulders to the foot of the bag, allowing you to expand the overall girth of the bag by 10 inches. This flexibility caters to your comfort and temperature needs.
The hood is insulated and contoured to fit snugly, while the ergonomic footbox provides further comfort. The nylon ripstop shell with DWR finish and polyester taffeta lining protect you from the elements and enhance comfort.
Baffled construction helps eliminate cold spots, while the integrated internal loops and external loops facilitate use with a liner or hanging for drying or storage. It's available in Regular (6') or Long (6'6') lengths, with a storage sack and a stuff sack included.
However, it's not perfect. Some users have reported that the expandable feature does not allow for a snug fit when closed for thinner framed people. The chemical-like smell during the new treatment of the down might also be a factor to consider.
In my own experience, the Big Agnes Torchlight 30 Degree sleeping bag worked well for me during a camping trip in below-freezing temperatures. The adjustable side panels and contoured features made a difference in my comfort levels. Despite the odor problem initially, it wasn't particularly unpleasant once I started using the bag in the cold.
Overall, this bag would be a solid choice for anyone seeking a versatile, warm, and adaptable sleeping solution. However, potential buyers should be aware of the size issue mentioned by certain users and the odor problem during the first use.

🔗Big Agnes Sunbeam 30 Sleeping Bag for Women - Petite, Right Zipper

https://preview.redd.it/pth0bihinewc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9bfb0398f0bf092e687ff273aa4a06706daec77
I recently had the chance to use the Big Agnes Sunbeam 30 Sleeping Bag during a weekend camping trip, and I must say, it definitely lived up to the hype. The free-range hood offered a comfortable fit, and the pillow barn kept my pillow secure all night long. What truly stood out though was the flow construction, which increased the thermal efficiency and kept me warm from head to toe.
The women-specific design was a great fit, but the temperature rating was a bit low, as I found myself chilly during our 40-degree campout. However, I'm looking forward to trying out the Daisy Mae model for even better warmth. Overall, I highly recommend this sleeping bag for anyone seeking comfort and warmth in 3-season camping conditions!

🔗Big Agnes Insulated Tent Comforter: Versatile 4-Season Camping Ground Layer

https://preview.redd.it/qcs448winewc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9759e9d6580479dd2a321e7d66f863e2e20bcc5
The Big Agnes Insulated Tent Comforter has been my reliable and cozy companion on my camping trips. Designed to be both functional and stylish, the blanket offers comfort and protection from the elements. I love the versatility of this camping tent - it can be used as a warm internal tent footprint, a weather-resistant ground cloth, or even as a picnic blanket.
What stood out to me the most is the comforting warmth and durability of the product. The combination of the soft polyester and the highly water-resistant nylon ripstop on one side makes it the perfect camping accessory. The integrated adjustable corner hooks allow me to attach the comforter to the gear loops in my tent effortlessly, while the 10 snap patches ensure a secure and stable positioning.
I must say, there are a few cons to consider. Firstly, the product is a bit heavier than advertised, which isn't ideal if you're backpacking. Secondly, the fold pattern and reinsertion process can be a bit frustrating and cumbersome, as I discovered during my living room tests. However, these minor drawbacks are outweighed by the comforter's performance and versatility in the great outdoors.
I would highly recommend the Big Agnes Insulated Tent Comforter to anyone seeking a cozy, durable, and multifunctional camping accessory. It's a perfect companion for all your outdoor adventures!

🔗Big Agnes Lost Ranger 3N1 Sleeping Bag - Versatile 3-Season Sleep System

https://preview.redd.it/f3roqn9jnewc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=788080a4d45f36aac4063274cfb6487954676a4b
After trying out the Big Agnes Lost Ranger 3N1 sleeping bag, I must say this bag is a game-changer for anyone who values comfort, versatility, and adaptability from their camping gear. The innovative three-bag system allows you to easily adjust the temperature and sleeping position according to your needs without having to fumble in the dark or take off one layer after another.
The inner bag is where this sleeping system truly shines, mimicking the award-winning Sidewinder design and accommodating side sleepers perfectly. The jacket-style hood provides excellent head warmth, while the two-way zipper enables quick temperature control throughout the night. As a side sleeper myself, I appreciate the ample room the inner bag offers and the ability to easily roll over without feeling claustrophobic.
The hand tuck pockets in the outer bag add a delightful touch of warmth and comfort, making it the ideal companion for those cold nights. Additionally, the easy access to the pillow barn on the pad sleeve ensures your pillow stays securely in place all night long.
However, the outer quilt could use some improvements. The pad attachment cord occasionally gets bunched up around the head, which can be quite irritating. A 1/4-length zipper on the right side would go a long way in addressing this issue and making it easier to regulate heat while using the inner bag.
Although I'm not particularly impressed with the outer quilt's performance, the integrated inner bag has been very satisfying to use. It's a top-notch addition to any camping gear for those looking for versatility and superior comfort during their outdoor adventures.

🔗Big Agnes Echo Park 0° Sleeping Bag: Lightweight, Synthetic Insulation with Quick-Dry Cotton Lining

https://preview.redd.it/5q9l2grjnewc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0b00397c5f2602284b8d20af2a89a89be681c58
Last weekend, I went on a camping trip with some friends and brought my Big Agnes Echo Park 0 Sleeping Bag. It was our first time using this sleeping bag and we were all quite excited to try it out.
To my pleasant surprise, the Big Agnes Echo Park 0 Sleeping Bag felt incredibly snug and comfortable. The ripstop nylon shell and water-resistant lining provided a nice and warm protection against the chilly cold outside. I also admired how the bag's shape allowed for ample room to move around freely, especially for someone like me who is quite tall at six feet.
One thing that stood out the most to me, however, was the zip-off quilt which created a 3-in-1 layering system. This feature proved incredibly useful as I could use it either as a regular sleeping bag or take out the quilt and use it as a summertime backpacking bag. The insulation was also top-notch, providing a 0F temperature rating that protected my body from the freezing cold.
Despite the numerous perks of the Big Agnes Echo Park 0 Sleeping Bag, there were a few drawbacks as well. As one of my friends pointed out, we needed to be careful with the placement of the bag as the insulation did not cover the entire bottom. This meant that placing it directly on the ground would result in chilly sleep, so we had to make sure to use a pad underneath. Unfortunately, the lack of top corner pockets was also noticed, which we found pretty disappointing as it would have been a neat feature to have while camping.
Overall, the Big Agnes Echo Park 0 Sleeping Bag was a game-changer on our camping trip. Its snug, warm design and versatile layering system made it one of the most enjoyable experiences we've had in the wilderness. While there were a few minor drawbacks, the pros certainly outweighed the cons in our experience.

🔗Big Agnes Zoom UL Insulated Sleeping Pad - Lightweight for Backcountry Adventures

https://preview.redd.it/68bldzifldwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4deefcd8136b740d614278e8cac89b27e153f498
When I first heard about the Big Agnes Zoom Insulated Sleeping Pad, I was intrigued by the claims of lightweight warmth and durability. Eager to put it to the test, I packed it for my next backpacking trip in the mountains.
Upon reaching the campsite, I immediately noticed the clever design of the pad, which made it easy to set up and start getting cozy. The high-volume valves allowed for quick inflation, and the reflective heat barrier kept me toasty even during the chilly mountain nights.
However, as comfortable as the pad was, it wasn't perfect. The pad's R-value of 4.3 didn't quite live up to my expectations, as I found myself feeling a bit cold when the temperature dipped below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Although the pad itself was quite comfortable, the included inflating sack felt somewhat heavy and wasn't as efficient as I had hoped.
Overall, the Big Agnes Zoom Insulated Sleeping Pad was a solid choice for lightweight camping comfort, making it a great option for backpackers and trekkers. But, its performance in colder conditions left something to be desired, and the heavier-than-expected inflation sack was a bit of a letdown. Nonetheless, it provided a comfortable and snug sleeping surface, making my outdoor excursions more enjoyable.

🔗Lightweight, 3-Person Big Agnes Tiger Wall Platinum Backpacking Tent

https://preview.redd.it/adrkqdyfldwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b5d9175d535c9db6376990ce3d975877584366a
As someone who enjoys camping and hiking in the great outdoors, I must say the Big Agnes Tiger Wall Platinum 3 person tent is a game-changer. This tent is lighter than a feather, weighing in at under two pounds, yet it's as sturdy as they come. The freestanding feature allows for easy setup and breakdown, making it an ideal choice for those looking to shave off some weight on their adventures.
One of the most notable features of this tent is its high-quality double wall construction. The silicone-treated nylon fly and floor create a waterproof barrier, ensuring you stay dry even in the wettest conditions. The steep walls also add extra space without adding bulk, allowing you to stretch out and relax inside the tent.
The tent's DAC aluminum Featherlite poles not only keep the trail weight under three pounds, but they also provide a sturdy support system for the tent's structure. The low vent maintains proper ventilation even with the fly on, and the interior pockets offer convenient storage for small items.
While there are no significant cons to mention, I will say that the zippers do feel a bit delicate. However, this minor issue is far outweighed by the many positive aspects of this incredible tent. Overall, the Big Agnes Tiger Wall Platinum 3 person tent is an exceptional choice for avid campers and hikers seeking a lightweight yet sturdy tent for their adventures.

I recently found myself in need of a new tent, and the Big Agnes C Bar 3 got the job done. It's simple and easy to use, with a sturdy design that even the wind and rain couldn't knock down.
The material is durable and kept us dry during some unexpected downpours. The tent's size is perfect for two people plus our camping gear, even though it can be a bit tight for three.
The built-in footprint kept our backpack and personal items dry, and the tent is lightweight enough to carry on longer trips. I appreciate the single-pole design, which makes setting up and taking down the tent a breeze.
One downside was the lack of a rainfly, but overall, the Big Agnes C Bar 3 is a great choice for seasoned campers and newcomers alike.

The Big Agnes Guard Station 4-Person Mountaineering Tent has been an unsung hero on my outdoor adventures. This tent's burly structure offers ample space and protection, even in the harshest alpine conditions. The dome shape provides an efficient use of the available space, while the single-wall design minimizes weather impact during setup.
The innovative Dominico ripstop fabric provides a strong barrier against harsh winds and storms, making it a worthy companion on my winter and summer expeditions. One minor issue I encountered was the lack of built-in weatherproof vents, but overall, this tent has proven to be a practical and comfortable shelter for all seasons.

As someone who's recently dived into the world of camping, the Big Agnes Blacktail 4 tent has been a fantastic addition to my gear-list. Upon first setting it up, what stood out was its freestanding design, a feature I found incredibly convenient since it meant I didn't have to stake every corner into the ground. It's a perfect balance, really. It's not so lightweight that I feel like I'm lugging a brick around, but not so heavy that it's cumbersome in any way. My inner city apartment dwelling self is pleasantly surprised at how much I've come to appreciate this!
The tent itself is roomy and practical, with enough space to accommodate two people comfortably. I also appreciated the fact that the vestibules provide additional storage space, which is often a premium in tents of this size.
The tent is made from a blend of 100% polyester; the floor and the fly both have a PU coating (1500mm) which made me feel assured that even if it rains, our personal items would stay dry, well mostly.
However, if there's one thing I've had to figure out, it's the placement of the vents. In the past, I've had to close them to prevent water from trickling in during heavy downpours. Despite this little setback though, I've really grown to love this tent. It has been a fantastic addition to my camping gear, and I am definitely recommending it to others.
But there's always room for improvement, right? I guess the zippers could be a bit smoother; at times they feel a bit snaggy. Also, the tent seems to be a bit on the short side, which makes it a bit of a squeeze when you've got more gear.
All things considered though, the Big Agnes Blacktail 4 tent has been a reliable companion on my camping trips. Not just a tent, but a 'home away from home' in a way!

🔗Big Agnes Wyoming Trail 4: Spacious Camping Tent for Couples and Families

As a lover of camping, I recently got the chance to try out the Big Agnes Wyoming Trail 4 tent. This tent was not just a shelter—it was a haven for my fellow campers and me. In terms of convenience, it really shined with two separate sleeping areas, perfect for couples or families with older kids seeking privacy.
The Wyoming Trail 4 proved to be incredibly spacious, both inside and out. The oversized vestibule served as an extra roomy storage area and shared hangout space under the awning doors. But the best part about it was the ample headspace, which made sitting up and moving around a breeze.
One of the key aspects of this tent was its versatility. It was perfect for three-season camping, bikepacking, adventure moto missions, and car camping. Though it may not be the best fit for all terrain and seasons, it surely stood its ground when faced with some serious wind and rain.
However, there were a couple of cons that couldn't be overlooked. The assembly process, though not overly complicated, still took a bit longer than expected. And while setting it up was straightforward, packing it up presented a bit of a challenge.
In conclusion, the Big Agnes Wyoming Trail 4 tent is a fantastic choice for those seeking a blend of style, practicality, and space. Despite a few minor setbacks, it truly earned its spot as a top-rated camping shelter.

🔗Big Agnes Torchlight 30 Degree Sleeping Bag for Outdoor Adventures

https://preview.redd.it/7u35h41ildwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2fe1050a357d9f0aeda267da77b08ea55334bed0

🔗Lightweight and Spacious Big Agnes Tiger Wall 2 Platinum Tent for Hikers

https://preview.redd.it/outeawiildwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9a9e28ea37e6e644ed713deddf0a150dff84b40
As a lightweight adventurer, I've had the opportunity to use the Big Agnes Tiger Wall 2 Platinum Tent on a few camping trips. The tent's ultralight design (under two pounds) makes it a perfect fit for those looking to cut down on trail weight without compromising on features.
One of the highlights of this tent is its spacious design, thanks to the steep, double-wall construction. It allowed me to stretch out and comfortably play a game of cards while waiting for the rain to pass. The silicone-treated nylon fly and floor ensure protection from wet weather, while the polyester mesh in the canopy allows for great breathability.
However, there are a few aspects that could be improved. The tent's materials, while lightweight, do feel a bit delicate and less durable compared to other tents in its class. Additionally, I found the stakes to be insufficient and needed a few extra ones to properly secure the fly.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I've been pleased with the Tiger Wall 2 Platinum Tent's overall performance. Its ease of setup and spacious design make it an excellent choice for those who want a lightweight, comfortable shelter without sacrificing functionality.

🔗Big Agnes Insulated Tent Comforter: Versatile 4-Season Camping Ground Layer

https://preview.redd.it/fr1shqvildwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb1aff08f542a04dfa9f3c482f3234342b228da1

🔗Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL Solution Dye 1 Person Backpacking Tent

I've been using the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL Solution Dye for a couple of weeks now, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for my camping adventures. The tent's solution-dyed fabric is not only highly resistant to UV fade but also reduces energy consumption and water use during manufacturing, which is a significant plus for the environment.
One of the features that stood out was the tent's single pole architecture using DAC Featherlite materials, creating a simple yet strong and sturdy structure. It's perfect for those multi-day trips in the backcountry. The tent's weight savings are perfect for gram counters who are always on the lookout for lightweight gear for their three-season adventures.
There were a couple of cons, though. While the tent is easy to set up, it can be a bit tricky in extreme wind and wet conditions. The stakes included are also insufficient for such conditions, so I highly recommend purchasing additional stakes for a sound setup.
Overall, the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL Solution Dye is a great choice for those who value lightweight gear and environmentally-friendly manufacturing processes. However, it may not be the best option for those who frequently camp in extreme wind and wet conditions.

🔗Ultralight Bikepacking Tent for On and Off-Road Adventures

As a solo traveler exploring the great outdoors on my trusty bike, I found the Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL1 Bikepack Solution Dye Tent to be the perfect companion. This award-winning tent, known for its ultralight and sustainable materials, made my adventures both comfortable and eco-friendly.
One of the highlights that stood out to me was the steep wall architecture and single vertical door, both of which maximized my living space. The tent's high-volume architecture allowed me to have a roomy interior without increasing its weight.
However, the 12-inch Shortstik Poleset with daisy-chain webbing system was what truly blew me away. The easy attachment to handlebars, panniers, and saddlebags made it effortless to transport, and the added storage capabilities to my gear were invaluable.
The dry-entry door design was particularly impressive, keeping my belongings and me dry as I entered and exited the tent. The single door and vestibule, coupled with the storm flaps on the vestibule zipper, provided a sense of security and convenience.
While I appreciated the thoughtful foot-end corners and daisy-chain webbing loops on the fly's exterior, I found the use of short poles to be slightly limiting in terms of stability in strong winds. Despite this, the tent has proven to be reliable in various weather conditions, offering just enough shelter and comfort.
In conclusion, the Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL1 Bikepack Solution Dye Tent has been an exceptional companion to my bike adventures. Its lightweight and eco-friendly features, along with its weatherproof and comfortable design, are truly worth the investment for any avid solo traveler.

🔗Big Agnes Sunbeam Sleeping Bag - Lightweight, Rectangular Shape, and Insulated for Backpacking

https://preview.redd.it/4x5f7uirkdwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e33624f1bb5e6b3513af33d84077ddde69b5bfd4
As a backpacker, I've gone through my fair share of sleeping bags, but the Big Agnes Women's Sunbeam has become my go-to for those chilly nights. The rectangular shape provides ample room for my shoulders and hips, while still offering heat insulation around my body. I've tested this bag in various temperatures and found it to be quite comfortable down to around 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
The zipper is a standout feature, with its petite size being perfect for my shorter frame. It locks into place securely and has minimal snagging when zipping in and out. The insulation, made of synthetic FireLine ECO, does an excellent job of retaining warmth, thanks to its high fill weight. The lining and face fabric are both made of 100% nylon ripstop with a DWR treatment, making them both durable and water-resistant.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks I encountered. While the Flex Pad Sleeve is a handy feature for attaching to a sleeping pad, I found that it added a bit of extra weight to my pack. Additionally, I wished the pad type was specified as a rectangular shape, as that could have been more helpful when selecting a compatible pad.
Overall, the Big Agnes Women's Sunbeam has become a staple on my camping trips. Its ability to insulate and retain warmth, along with its comfortable rectangular shape, makes it a great choice for those seeking a cozy night's sleep in the great outdoors.

🔗Ultra-Warm Synthetic Big Agnes Sunbeam 15 Sleeping Bag for Camping

https://preview.redd.it/ynzg7ayrkdwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=83a264ec1b4ca0ce0c04a5eafb80f8ff2b374af0
Last month, after reading some glowing reviews, I decided to treat myself to a Big Agnes Sunbeam 15, a sleeping bag meant for chilly nights.
Upon first use, the sleek silhouette of the bag stood out to me. It wraps around the body in a way that optimizes thermal efficiency, keeping me warm from head to toe when the mercury dropped. The integrated Flex Pad Sleeve was a smart addition, ensuring that the sleeping pad remains secure and doesn't cause discomfort during the night.
However, there were a few minor downsides that I noticed. The stuff sack the bag came with was on the larger side for a backpacking sleeping bag. Although not a huge issue, I would have preferred a smaller packing size. Additionally, the anti-snag zipper that ensures a smooth zipping experience could have been a bit faster in pulling off.
Despite these minor drawbacks, my overall experience with the Big Agnes Sunbeam 15 was a positive one. Its warmth, comfort, and thoughtful construction make it a worthwhile addition to anyone's camping gear.

🔗Big Agnes V Notch UL 40 Sleeping Bag for Thru-Hikers

https://preview.redd.it/5cutp4eskdwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80e8b131c74754c2653e61a2ac11716f7c1067b1
Recently, I had the chance to try out the Big Agnes V Notch UL 40 Degree Sleeping Bag, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The sleeping bag is lightweight, coming in at just 1.5 pounds, making it perfect for those on-the-go backpackers or those counting every ounce.
What really stood out to me was the synthetic insulation, made from PrimaLoft Hi-Loft Ultra Silver. This insulation offers excellent warmth, even when wet, unlike down insulation. The water-repellent coating on the ripstop nylon shell also ensured my insulation stayed dry even during more humid conditions.
One minor drawback, however, was the zipper. While the full-length zipper made opening the bag easy, the two separate zippers made it a bit tricky to fully open it when I wanted more airflow.
All in all, I had a great camping experience with the Big Agnes V Notch UL 40 Degree Sleeping Bag, and I can confidently recommend it for anyone looking for a durable, lightweight, and versatile sleeping bag.

🔗Big Agnes Women's Torchlight 20 Sleeping Bag: Versatile and Comfortable

I've been using the Big Agnes Women's Torchlight 20 Degree sleeping bag for a while now and I have to say, it's been a life-saver on my camping trips. The first thing that stood out was the weather-resistant treated down insulation, which has performed incredibly well even in wet or damp conditions. The expandability of the bag gives you the versatility to have a more roomy interior or a tighter, cozier fit, depending on the situation.
The bag's size has allowed for a perfectly snug fit and the ability to move around comfortably inside, thanks to the expandable panels. However, the zipper location was slightly annoying, I found myself bending over just to get in and out of the bag at times. Overall, this sleeping bag has proven to be worth the investment for anyone looking for warmth, comfort, and style on their camping adventures.

The Big Agnes Torchlight Camp 20 sleeping bag is a versatile companion for my 3-season camping trips. It features a unique mummy style with built-in expandability, which allows me to have maximum comfort and control over my sleeping environment.
One of the standout features for me is the FireLine Pro insulation, made from post-consumer recycled high loft fibers. It retains its warmth even in damp conditions – a perfect environmentally-conscious solution. I also appreciate the shell made of ripstop nylon with a DWR finish, which adds an extra layer of protection against the elements.
While the Big Agnes Torchlight Camp 20 doesn't boast the highest compression volume or the lightest fill weight, it ensures that extra warmth and comfort are never compromised when camping. The bag's girth is expandable with side panels that run from my shoulders to my feet, allowing me to choose between thermal efficiency and extra room.
A noteworthy downside was the zippers, which seemed to catch on clothing and fabric when trying to adjust the bag in the dark. Although I found the no-draft zipper to be an efficient feature, the rest of the zippers could benefit from some improvements.
Overall, the Big Agnes Torchlight Camp 20 is a cozy and reliable companion suited for various camping conditions, and its expandable versatility warrants a solid investment.

The adjustable side panels and contoured features made a difference in my comfort levels. Despite the odor problem initially, it wasn't particularly unpleasant once I started using the bag in the cold.

I recently had the chance to try out the Big Agnes Anthracite 20 sleeping bag, and let me tell you, it was a delightful experience! The thought of being able to stay cozy and comfortable during my outdoor adventures was exactly what I needed after a long day spent outside.
The FireLine Pro Eco recycled synthetic insulation did the trick and kept me warm even in chilly temperatures. I also appreciated the recycled shell and lining fabrics, which not only kept me dry but also offered better value for the environment. Plus, the PFC-free moisture repellent coating was a game-changer!
However, one thing I noticed was the traditional mummy shape, which could be restrictive for some users, especially side sleepers. Luckily, it did taper up to be much more roomy, making it comfortable for most users. I would have loved a little more space, but overall, the bag was fantastic.
The contoured hood followed the curve of my head, providing a comfortable fit, and the oversized no-draft collar with no-draft zipper was a lifesaver when the temperatures started to drop. The sleeping bag was also easy to compress for packing, making it a versatile choice for any outdoor enthusiast.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Big Agnes Anthracite 20 sleeping bag for anyone who wants to stay warm and comfortable during their outdoor adventures while being more conscious of their environmental impact.

Last weekend, I decided to hit the great outdoors and experience a little adventure in the chilly weather with the help of the Big Agnes Women's Daisy Mae 15 Sleeping Bag. This sleeping bag proved to be an excellent companion on my camping trip, providing me with warm and cozy shelter in the frosty nights.
Firstly, the lightweight and high-quality polyester ripstop exterior of the bag ensured that it withstood any abrasions or moisture, keeping me warm and dry throughout my stay. The mummy shape of the sleeping bag hugged my body, trapping heat inside while maintaining a good amount of freedom of movement, which was a delightful surprise!
However, one feature that somewhat disappointed me was the fit of the bag with certain sleeping pads. I initially faced difficulties as my pad's size seemed to be incompatible with the bag's elastic stretch pockets, causing a minor inconvenience.
All things considered, I truly enjoyed my camping experience with the Big Agnes Women's Daisy Mae 15 Sleeping Bag, as it was the perfect blend of warmth, comfort, and ease of use. I highly recommend this versatile and stylish bag to all the fellow outdoorsy enthusiasts who are passionate about escaping into the wild and conquering the great outdoors.

🔗Big Agnes Boot Jack 25: Compact, Lightweight Sleeping Bag for Backpacking

https://preview.redd.it/7casi620ldwc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b7311655d5129586704e6e8f618b23292d96bc3
When I stumbled upon the Big Agnes Boot Jack 25 sleeping bag, I was intrigued by its traditional mummy shape and water-repellent insulation. The description mentioned the contoured hood that would give me a comfortable fit, and the no-draft collar that would keep me warm. The zipper was designed to be smooth and not snag, which is always a concern for me when packing my gear.
As I started to use the sleeping bag, I noticed how lightweight and compact it was – a true asset when I'm out on the trail. The breathable shell fabric made it stand out – it helped block moisture and added another layer of warmth. What's more, the baffle construction uniformly distributed heat throughout the bag, eliminating harsh, cold spots.
One of the features that stood out for me was the left zipper. It allowed me to easily unzip and access the bag while still keeping my body protected from the cold, damp environment outside. Plus, the anti-snag zipper made gliding it up and down effortless.
My first experience with the tent-style sleeping bag was a big success – it provided enough room for me to move around, even as a side sleeper. The pad compatibility made it easy to match with other gear I might have with me on the trip. Overall, the Big Agnes Boot Jack 25 sleeping bag excelled at providing lightweight, snug warmth and comfort in all the critical areas.
However, one concern I had was the potential for sizing issues; it might be too small for people who require extra space. Despite this, the bag would still be suitable for those who don't need that extra room.
In conclusion, I think the Big Agnes Boot Jack 25 sleeping bag would be a great choice for anyone who wants warmth and protection that doesn't weigh them down, a traditional mummy shape, and versatile features to last them throughout their adventures.

Additionally, consider the sleeping bag's insulation, as it affects its overall temperature rating and warmth.

Weight and Size

The weight and size of the sleeping bag are essential considerations, especially for backpacking and ultralight activities. A lightweight and compact sleeping bag allows for easy transportation and takes up limited space in your backpack.
When choosing a sleeping bag, ensure that it is both lightweight and compact while still offering enough warmth and insulation for the intended use.

Materials

The materials used to construct the sleeping bag play a significant role in determining its overall durability and performance.
High-quality materials like synthetic insulation, water-resistant fabric, and durable zippers help ensure that the sleeping bag remains warm, dry, and long-lasting.

Additional Features

Aside from the basic features, many sleeping bags come with additional features that enhance user experience.
  • Consider a sleeping bag with a built-in stuff sack, which makes storage and transportation easier.

Price and Budget

A budget is an essential consideration when purchasing any outdoor gear, including sleeping bags.

2024.04.24 06:39 Trash_Tia Paradise Falls is the teenage purgatory for kids who die too early. I died for 4 and a half minutes.

I didn't know much about my almost-death. Just that it was fast.
Fucking painful.
I know I died screaming, writhing in agony and just wanting it to stop.
Death, or almost-death, is a weird thing. It's like being dragged under water, suffocating in pitch dark depths, and then floating back to the surface.
Breaking through, oxygen returning to your lungs.
Awakening upside down on a sun lounger with no memories but my name was not what I was expecting to be on the other side. I was always curious about the possibility of an afterlife.
I was brought up in an atheist household, but there was a part of me that believed in something after death. Not quite the white pearly gates, but definitely not the suffocating and yet peaceful oblivion my parents believed in. Mom was convinced there was just the dark, while Dad was more accustomed to reincarnation.
Both of them were wrong. Because Heaven resembled a five star holiday resort.
For a moment I was frozen, staring at a perfect blue sky, aware of my ponytail lightly grazing the water. Looming over me was a picturesque building made of pink brick going up, up, up into the air, thousands, millions, of checkerboard windows, an impossible water park hovering above the clouds.
The pool I was half submerged in, and that shimmered above me, was made of diamonds.
The afterlife for young people was spring break.
I was transfixed, hypnotised by this beautiful place, before I slipped into the water, head first. There was a suppressed memory there somewhere, my idiotic child self forgetting I couldn't swim in the deep end.
My initial reaction was to panic, but I didn't need my lungs or my breath anymore.
The water was the perfect temperature, like being embraced in a warm hug.
Still though, that didn't stop me immediately freaking out and clawing my way back to the surface, spluttering.
It was my natural reaction to choke, despite no longer having working lungs.
“You can't drown in shallow water, idiot.”
Behind me, a boy was sitting on the edge of the pool, his toes dancing in the shallows. The kid was my age.
Eighteen, or maybe nineteen.
He offered me a smile, blowing floppy brown hair out of his eyes. I noticed flowers entangled in his curls, a broken crown of roses.
His clothes were an interesting choice for immortal paradise, a short sleeved white shirt covered in blood, jeans rolled up to his knees. Those were the clothes he must have died in.
I noticed his right eye was bruised yellow, a shiver creeping its way down my spine.
Looking down at myself, my clothes were fairly normal.
No blood splatters, at least not what I could see.
Just a plain shirt and jeans, both of which were uncomfortably glued to me.
“I'm Caine,” he said, kicking his feet in the water.
The boy turned his head, and I gulped in air.
I didn't think panic would still exist in heaven. But there it was, twisting my gut into knots. I didn't have or need breath, and yet I found myself instinctively trying to suck it in.
The guy may have looked beautiful, like the afterlife was editing him to fit perfection. But I could see the shallow cavern at the back of his skull, a smear of pinkish red dripping down his shirt.
“As you can see, it's obvious why I'm here.” he prodded the hole, and I winced.
He saw my reaction and laughed.
“Hey, it's cool, apparently, our physical selves don't exist.” His lips formed a smile. “The girl in room 101 told me our real physical forms would freak us out, so we’re our default selves.”
“Default.” I repeated.
“Yeah!” Caine’s eyes darkened. “We look like we did when we, um, died.”
He sighed, his gaze going skyward, tracking a kid plunging into an infinity pool right above our heads. “Speaking of the D word, I don't remember how or why, I uh, d-worded.” Caine turned back to me, offering me a playful shrug, tipping his head back. Like we were meeting for the first time on holiday.
“I dunno man, I was shot in the head, died and then I ended up in a stoned dude’s idea of heaven. I don't know what to say, except this is awesome.”
“Bree.” I managed to get out.
He raised a brow. “Huh?”
I allowed myself to sink into the water, trying to register his words. “It's Bree.”
“Well, it's nice to meet cha, Bree.”
Caine jumped up, holding out his hand to help me out of the pool.
When I tried to grasp his arm, he held up a two fingered salute. “Happy Death Day.”
I found myself laughing, which was ridiculous because the joke sucked.
I let him pull me out of the pool, sopping wet. “How long did it take you to think of that one?”
Caine shrugged, scrunching up his nose. “Longer than necessary.” he said, “Oh, hey, here's a tip.” the boy spun around to face me, and I could almost forget he was clearly a murder victim.
“If you want to get dry, just do this.” Caine clicked his fingers.
“You're not serious.”
He laughed. “We’re in a never ending paradise for kids, and you think I’m joking?”
“Welcome to Paradise Falls!”
The mechanical voice spoke above us, as if on cue.
There were floating speakers in the sky. Everything seemed to be floating.
The only thing that wasn't floating was us.
When I lifted my head, the clouds switched colors depending on my mood.
According to Caine, the whole world was ours, quite literally.
Everything we saw was tailored to our own personal paradise. I asked Caine what he could see, and he shrugged.
“Flowers.” he said with a light smile.
I was given a welcoming in the form of an AI voice.
“Paradise Falls is a safe space for young people whose lives have come to an abrupt end! If you have any questions regarding your death, please visit the help desk. And remember! Paradise Falls remove painful memories to ensure a *perfect stay here. If you have trouble remembering how you died, be rest assured there is a reason. Here at Paradise Falls, we believe in moving forwards. If your stay here is temporary..."*
The speakers were on a constant repeat, as Caine pulled me further into the resort itself.
The place was 99.9% water, even the floor glistening like the surface of a tropical ocean. I fell into the ground twice, catching the attention of a group of kids walking past us, led by a pretty redhead with a spear through her eye.
The guy walking with her was constantly spluttering water.
“That's Adam and Reia,” Caine murmured. “Adam drowned in his family pool, and Reia…” he trailed off.
“Was shot through the eye,” I said, “It's obvious.”
Caine shot me a grin. “You're learning!” he said, “But, no. She was… strangled.”
I kept walking, narrowly missing falling into another surprise swimming pool.
“Who by?” I found myself asking, breathless.
Caine scratched the back of his head. “Her boyfriend. I know, right? Yikes.”
“Leave the new girl alone!” A girl’s voice trilled.
Caine curled his lip. He didn't even turn around. “Ignore Mina,” the guy muttered, “If we pretend not to see her, she'll crawl back to the infinity pool.”
“You're not, and never will be funny, Caine.”
The girl standing behind us was beautiful, free of flaws and the scars from her death. Dark brown hair that ran like silk down her back, a crown of daisies loosely tangled through.
Another flower crown.
I saw them as a symbol of rebirth.
Mina’s clothes stood out, a white dress, flowers coiled around her ankles.
She was everything I wanted to be and more, immediately giving me butterflies.
Attached to her hip was a shy looking blonde guy, who gave me a shy wave.
Caine’s lip curled. “I see you've been catching strays.” He muttered to Mina.
The dead boy nudged me, motioning for me not to speak, and I didn't.
I couldn't.
Instead, I waved back and tried to smile at this kid whose skull was caved in.
The guy's smile was innocent, and I had a hard time wondering how a human being could do something so horrific.
So inhuman, that they themselves become monsters.
I caught a single red petal in the kid’s hair.
“Don't pity me,” the boy said with a sheepish smile, “I know it looks bad.”
I found my voice. “No, it…”
“Name’s Zach.” He said, before I could choke on pitying him.
Mina must have noticed my face. She passed me the drink she was holding, that was a whole new shade of pink.
“Try this!” she insisted. “They do emotion shakes here. This one is supposed to taste like falling in love!”
I took a sip, and she was right. Like tasting the warmth of a first crush, the butterflies fluttering around in your gut.
Combined with strawberry, mango, and the slightest bit of coconut, it was heaven in a smoothie.
“They have every flavour,” Mina said excitedly, bouncing up and down.
“I even tried depression! And it's surprisingly good, but it's like a rich, chocolatey shake? Like, mix a kinder bar with the euphoria from sex, then the ickiness of a hangover. Combine with the break up with your boyfriend, zero serotonin, and you have the depression shake!”
“Fascinating.” Caine said, in a tone that suggested otherwise. “Please tell us more.”
She responded with a playful shove.
“Relax! I'm just giving them the Paradise Falls lowdown.”
“Yes, because I'm sure the first thing that is on their minds is a double frappe with extra serotonin," He grumbled. “Dude, this isn't a fucking college tour.”
The girl wrapped her arms around me, her flowery scent was sweet.
“Caine is a man-child. He just likes playing in the pool.”
“I'm still technically a kid, y’know!” he said, skipping ahead of us with Zach.
The two guys were standing on a golden bridge ahead, looking out into the expanse of water that bled into the sky.
Mina was still talking, her hand wrapped around my wrist, but I was suddenly far too aware of her smell.
Flowers.
Rich and sweet, like Jasmine.
Dirt.
Filth clinging to her skin, mixed with cheap perfume.
“Oh, and on Wednesdays, they actually sell shots of serotonin. It's like a legal high…”
I was aware of the girl hugging me, her hair lightly brushing my cheeks, but Mina’s face was in my mind, her smell choking my nose and throat. Flowers.
I knew her.
I knew her stink, and I knew my body’s reaction to it.
She wasn't supposed to feel and smell so familiar, so real, because I had never met her before stepping foot in Paradise Falls.
My memories, however, were full of her.
Suffocated with her.
All it took was one splinter of memory, and my Heaven was crumbling.
Paradise Falls faded, like it never existed, and I was back in the real world.
The flower girl was in front of me, draped in a white dress, daisies clinging to matted curls.
The room was made of concrete, one singular light flickering above the two of us.
The girl cocked her head, lightly pulling at her hair.
Her smell was wild flowers and the dirt she ground her fingers in.
“Daddy said you're not ready.” The flower girl murmured. Her eyes were bright, like she was happy. But her lips were drawn into a frown. She leaned forward, her breath stinking of cigarette smoke, and blew in my face.
“That's a pity.”
She pulled a flower from her hair, dangling the daisy in front of my face.
“Aren't you hungry?” the girl mocked a child-like giggle, making the daisies dance.
But I wasn't looking at the flower, or the girl’s dead eyes. I was staring at the bodies hanging from meat hooks, beheaded sacks of flesh swaying from side to side. The walls were painted rich red, the entrails from prior sacrifices used to create cave-like paintings.
The Flower King insisted that our blood stained each brick, our life force fed inside the house and the flower garden.
The bodies on hooks were people I knew.
Lia, who told me she was going to escape.
She was on display for that very reason.
I screamed, agony and pain writhing in my cry, a fear I couldn't comprehend.
I couldn’t stop, screeching until my throat was choking up, my cries gurgling into wet sobs.
Cocking her head, the flower girl’s lips spread out into a demented grin.
If I looked closely, I could see stitches lining her forehead, where her king had filled her thoughts with poison.
I thought I could wake her up, but the flowers were too deep, filling her mind.
“You stupid bitch,” she said with a laugh.
The flower girl cradled my face with her fingers, digging her fingernails in.
Her eyes were wild, like the flowers she worshipped, no trace of humanity left, except the markings on her skin.
She slapped me, and I saw red.
“It's not real!" I whispered through a shriek.
It's not real.
I wanted to tell her that her father was forcefully breeding men and women, murdering their newborns.
For the flowers.
I wanted to tell her she was next, and then so was her ‘brother’.
But all she did was giggle, pressing her hands over her mouth like a little kid.
“You make me laugh!” The girl straightened up, kicking me in the stomach, and I felt every hit, every sharp, agonising pain ripping through me.
“You're so funny!” she spluttered, forcing me to laugh with her.
If I didn't, the flower girl would bleed me out before the harvest.
When she was finished, I was curled onto my side, my mouth full of red warmth that dripped down my chin.
“Urgh,” the girl pulled a face, “Are you coughing up your lungs? That's like, so gross!”
Flower Girl kicked me again, this time in the back of my head.
I saw stars exploding, my thoughts swimming.
Darkness was creeping at the corner of my vision, when she stopped.
“If you're going to kill them, get on with it. They'll just be early sacrifices.”
I felt something move behind me, a body I didn't realize was attached to me, come to life.
His hands entangled with mine trembled, a soft moan escaping his mouth. When I managed to look up, the flower girl grasped hold of my chin, forcing me to look in the direction of the Flower Prince.
I never knew his old self, but there were whispers that he too had been like me.
Just a scared kid needing a home.
The shadow dipping under the light grew a face, and I could already see the flowers entangled in his curls catching the light.
He only wore his crown on the days of harvest.
The guy stood behind her, arms crossed, dark eyes pinched around the edges.
Dressed in matching white, The Flower Prince was stained red, painted like his father.
The markings on his head, stitches cementing his place as a Child Of The Garden.
He wasn't smiling, but my sharp hisses of breath were teasing his facial muscles.
The boy held out his hand, and after slight hesitation, the flower girl pressed a blade into his fist. I watched his fingers tip-toe across the teeth, setting every nerve ending on fire, my body catapulting into fight or flight.
I saw what happened to Adam, and then Lucy, and Theia.
They all died by his psychotic hand, cradling their bodies spewing red in his arms and promising they were making a worthy donation.
The Flower Prince ran the knife down my face, his expression crumpling into a melancholic frown.
“You're scared.” He said, pressing enough pressure to draw blood.
I felt it, a single line running down my face.
I sensed his urgency for it, his polluted thoughts desperate to quench the garden.
“Don't be scared.” the boy said, his lips breaking into a grin resembling his father’s. His human eyes were gone, replaced with hollow caverns filled with an insanity that was physically vibrating him, twitching his body from side to side. I barely felt the blade go in.
As if he could feel my pain, he screamed with me, mocking my pleads for death.
“Please!”
The cry came from behind me. He spoke in heavy sobs, wrenching against our restraints. “Please let us go.”
Swinging the knife between his fingers, The Flower Prince pouted, his eyes darkening, lips curling in disgust.
“But what if I don't want to let you go, huh?” he mocked a child-like mumble.
What
If
I
Don't
Want
To
Let
You
Go?
He struck both of us, emphasising every word, and I felt it, the blade cruel slicing into me, gnawing through flesh and bone. I thought it would stop.
I thought he was taking us to the edge of death, and then let us breathe, let us writhe in agony. But he didn't.
The Flower Prince did not show mercy, plunging his blade into me until I was lying in stemming red on my back, my gaze on the ceiling, imagining water.
Pools of glistening water I could envelope myself in.
Wash off the blood, and sink deep down.
My companion's body was behind me, unrecognisable.
The Flower Girl was singing a melody, dancing around his crumpled form.
The Flower Prince was on his knees, knelt in my blood, lips stretched into a maniacal grin. He dipped his fingers in thickening red, gliding them across my cheek. His voice was incomprehensible giggles and prayers to the flowers, to his father, for sacrificing me too early.
He was rocking back and forth, hollowed out eyes blinking at an invisible God, when the sound slammed into me.
BANG.
I pried my eyes open, rolling onto my side.
So much blood.
It was sticky and wet and warm, slick on my skin.
Thundering footsteps, a blinding light that wasn't Heaven’s pearly gates.
A flashlight illuminated the room, finding the flower girl, who sliced her own throat the second they moved toward her.
“Hands up!” the voice yelled. “Move away from them!”
“Or what?” The Flower Prince laughed. I caught the flash of his grin.
“Are you planning on shooting a kid?”
“I said, put your HANDS on your HEAD! Now!”
Bree?
The world contorted, and I was back under a crystal blue sky.
Now though, clouds were starting to form, a darkness riding on the horizon.
“Bree!”
I blinked, and my murderer was in front of me. “Did you hear what I said?”
I felt his hand wrap around my arm, tight enough to make me shriek.
“I said,” Caine gritted through a grin, squeezing me tighter. The loose flowers in his hair were slowly forming a crown.
His smile was wide, but I couldn't find the happiness and carefree he'd been an hour ago. From the manic look in his eyes, my murderer was living his own version of paradise.
And I think he revelled in getting his memory back every time.
Caine clung to me, the sky turning tumultuous.
Behind me, Zach turned around, his eyes wide, suddenly.
He started forwards, before coming to a stop.
He was too scared. Mina took his hand gently, coaxing him back.
The Flower Girl met my gaze, her eyes filling with tears.
She took Zach, the two of them fading into the distance.
And I was stuck with The Flower Prince.
“Well?” Caine laughed, tightening his grip.
“Isn't this the best fucking afterlife ever?”
Bree? Come on, honey!
I've got a heartbeat. It's faint.
Brianna! Can you hear me?
It felt like being yanked under water, dragged to icy depths.
When I opened my eyes, I was surrounded by paramedics, a mask I was struggling to pant into. Zach was dead.
In the corner of my eye, his body was being gently pulled onto a stretcher.
To my left, Mina lying on her side, her eyes still open.
Her lips carved into a grin.
Caine was crumpled in a heap, his brains staining his flower crown.
“Bree.”
The woman kneeling over me was telling me to breathe, to not move.
I was told I died for 4 and a half minutes.
But I wasn't looking at the paramedic checking me over.
Instead, my gaze found the finger marks still ingrained into the flesh of my arm.
I could still see him, clinging onto me, like my torture was his paradise.
It's been a year, and the shadow of Caine's fingertips are still there.
If anything, they feel like markings.
A branding.
And I'm fucking terrified that when I do eventually die, he will be waiting for me.
In his own personal heaven

🔗Stylish Black Maxi Dress with Cutout Detail

https://preview.redd.it/19ysw4co97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=710cc20246e4a03b52d122be5630d00082627a96
As the warm summer breeze dances past me, I slip into this elegant Petal and Pup Womens Myrna Cutout Maxi Dress - Black, and my confidence soars. The v-neckline and adjustable straps create a timeless silhouette that complements my body perfectly. I can't help but smile as I twirl and feel the gentle breeze on my skin through the subtle cutout detail on the bust, which adds an extra touch of sophistication to the dress.
The non-functional buttons down the front are a playful detail that captivates everyone's attention. Even after a long night of dancing, the dress maintains its charm without compromising on comfort.
However, the only downside is that I need to be cautious of the sunlight, as the black fabric can attract unwanted attention from the sun. Overall, this timeless maxi dress not only makes me feel stunning but also leaves a lasting impression on everyone around me.

🔗Black Crepe Puff-Sleeve Sheath Dress

https://preview.redd.it/w114l1so97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca9efd8ebca528484bd68b02c3170ecdcb13dc56
I recently purchased the Julia Jordan Puff-Sleeve Cut-Out Sheath Dress in black and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's the perfect blend of sophistication and playfulness. The crepe fabric feels luxurious against my skin, while the square neckline and short puffed sleeves add a touch of whimsy. The cut-outs along the sides are tasteful and add a bit of edge to the overall look.
One of the things that really stood out for me was how comfortable this dress is. The polyestespandex blend allows it to stretch and move with me, making it perfect for all-day wear. Plus, the fact that it's machine washable is a huge plus.
However, there are a few cons to note. The sizing does run small, so I'd recommend sizing up if you're unsure of what size to order. Additionally, the center back zip closure can be a bit tricky to navigate on your own.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Julia Jordan Puff-Sleeve Cut-Out Sheath Dress for anyone looking for a versatile and stylish piece to add to their wardrobe.

🔗Enchanting Black Cutout Cocktail Dress

As a reviewer who's had the pleasure of sporting the House of CB Marella Cutout Long Sleeve Cocktail Dress in black at a few events, I can attest to its glamorous appeal. The floor-sweeping jersey dress is a chic choice, offering modern allure with its racy side cutouts and high slit that allows your skin to peek through confidently.
While the material may require a bit of patience during its first few washes - it tends to shrink slightly - this eye-catching dress is a real statement-maker on any night out. The sizing could also be more inclusive, as I found it a tad small.
Despite these minor hiccups, the overall experience of wearing this gown was phenomenal, making it a must-have for anyone seeking a showstopping outfit.

🔗Black Metallic Sequin Cut Out Waist Ruched Bodycon Dress

https://preview.redd.it/9pgv8jgp97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ac5c1347a68f559f34521b13d4ba4caff2d6387
As a fashion enthusiast, I recently found myself drawn to a stunning black metallic sequin cut-out waist ruched bodycon dress from Prettylittlething. The moment I laid eyes on it, I knew I was in love. This dress is not just a piece of clothing but a statement in itself.
The black sequin detail adds a glamorous touch, making it perfect for any party or formal event. The cut-out waist design is flattering, accentuating the curves in all the right places. However, some might find it a bit too bold for a casual setting.
The 95% polyester and 5% elastane material provide both comfort and stretch, making it easy to wear and style. The dress is also available in various other colors and sizes, making it easy to find the perfect match for your style and body type.
All in all, this black metallic sequin cut-out waist ruched bodycon dress is a showstopper that will undoubtedly make you the center of attention wherever you go.

🔗Oh Polly Black Asymmetric Back One Shoulder Mini Dress

https://preview.redd.it/rb1me2xp97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=561d0bf5112b2696beac18e24f415dbbd569511d
I've been using the Oh Polly One Shoulder Cut-Out Back Mini Dress in Black for quite some time now. I have to say; it has been a game-changer for my evening wear collection. The dress is versatile and makes me feel confident when I step out. The bodycon design hugs my curves just right, and the one-shoulder neckline adds a touch of elegance.
One thing that stands out about this dress is its ability to make a bold statement without being overly flashy. The narrow cut-outs along the back add a hint of sexiness, and the minimalistic design allows for easy accessorizing.
The only downside to this dress is that it tends to wrinkle easily. After a long night out, I find myself having to iron it or hang it up immediately so it doesn't get too wrinkled. However, this minor inconvenience doesn't take away from the overall appeal of the dress.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Oh Polly One Shoulder Cut-Out Back Mini Dress to anyone looking for a stylish and confidence-boosting outfit for their next evening out. It's a must-have in any fashion-forward wardrobe.

🔗Black Strapless Back-Cut-Out Mini Dress

https://preview.redd.it/49ba9dcq97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d419e9374ab35334b4419d1af9b1de0b0172267
I recently had the pleasure of wearing the Edikted Elise Back Cut Out Mini Dress in black for a friend's birthday party, and boy, did it make a statement! As soon as I slipped it on, I felt confident and ready to take on the night. The back cut out was definitely the star of the show, creating an alluring yet classy look that made me feel like a million bucks.
The dress's material felt luxurious against my skin, and the way it hugged my curves in all the right places was nothing short of incredible. One minor issue I encountered was that the size XS wasn't quite as snug as I would have liked, but nothing that a good tailor couldn't fix.
Overall, the Edikted Elise Back Cut Out Mini Dress definitely turned heads wherever I went, and I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking to make a bold fashion statement.

🔗House of CB Cutout Long Sleeve Mini Dress in Black

https://preview.redd.it/zi1ddnsq97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=425dfca70ca9a7ef55184e35c87df3c176b3f25c
I always knew House of CB was a go-to for eye-catching party dresses, but their Santa Ruched Glitter Long Sleeve Cutout Dress in Black truly took my experience to the next level. The moment I slipped into it, I felt like a million bucks.
It's got this stunning glittery finish that's just perfect for adding a touch of glam. The cutouts and asymmetric neckline made me feel confident and stylish, even as the fabric's drapes enhanced my curves.
Interestingly, it doesn't sacrifice on comfort despite its 'revealing' design. However, I did find that taking care of the dress can be quite a hassle as it requires dry cleaning only.
Despite its minor inconvenience, I feel the House of CB Santa Ruched Glitter Long Sleeve Cutout Dress is a solid choice for anyone looking to make a bold fashion statement.

🔗Black Cutout Mini Dress by Oh Polly

https://preview.redd.it/iyxrom9r97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00fbfdb2accde4d789f8df0e3fcfc6d86a063c62
Oh Polly's Long Sleeve Cut Out A-Line Mini Dress in Black - 4" is a stunning piece of clothing that I've had the pleasure of wearing. The moment I slipped it on, I felt like a femme fatale straight out of a Hollywood noir film. The tight bodice creates a sultry, bodycon fit while the A-line skirt adds a touch of elegance. The long, split flare sleeves provide movement and intrigue, and the keyhole cutout at the bust adds a provocative element.
I particularly appreciated the drawcord fastening at the front and back, which allowed me to adjust the fit to my liking. It's the kind of dress that makes you feel confident and alluring, perfect for a date night or a glamorous event. The only minor issue I had was with the length, as it was a bit shorter than I expected, but it didn't take away from the overall charm and allure of the dress.
In summary, this dress is a sophisticated and seductive choice for anyone looking to make a statement. Its unique design and adjustable fit make it a versatile addition to any wardrobe. While it may be a tad short for some, it's a small price to pay for such a captivating piece.

🔗Black Velvet Mesh Paneled Mini Dress by Bershka

https://preview.redd.it/e6seleur97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3016a4a025b9afe7ca51309dd0bc6450df00c8df
I've recently been trying out the Bershka Mesh and Velvet Cut-Out Mini Dress in Black and I have to say, it's a perfect choice for a night out or a special event. The combination of mesh and velvet gives an interesting texture that's both comfortable and stylish.
The high neck and long sleeves are not only fashionable but also very practical for those chilly nights. The back zip closure ensures a snug fit, while the bodycon design hugs all the right curves.
However, I did notice that the mesh material may be slightly see-through in bright lighting. Overall, it's a stylish and comfortable dress that adds a touch of glamour to any outfit.

🔗Jules Maxi Triangle Cut Out Dress - Black

https://preview.redd.it/9nka4ocs97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ec60c82aaf681370272908481ddc6e13ba499a9
I recently got my hands on the JULES Maxi Triangle Cut Out Dress, and let me tell you, it's a real showstopper! When I first saw it, I was instantly drawn to the intricate knots and playful cutouts. I mean, who doesn't love a dress that's as fun to look at as it is to wear?
One of the best things about this dress is how incredibly comfortable it feels. The bodycon fit hugs all the right places, but never feels too tight. Plus, the maxi length means I can twirl around at parties without worrying about showing off too much leg.
Now, let's talk about those cutouts. They're definitely daring, but trust me, they're more playful than scandalous. They give the dress just the right amount of edge without going overboard. And if you're worried about feeling exposed, don't be - the dress is fully lined, so you can confidently strut your stuff without any wardrobe malfunctions.
Of course, no outfit is complete without the right shoes. That's where MESHKI's Brandy Ankle Strap Heels come in. They add just the right touch of elegance to the dress, making it perfect for any special occasion.
In terms of cons, I will say that this dress might not be for everyone. Its unique design might be a little too bold for some, and the halter neckline can be a bit tricky to pull off if you're not used to wearing them.
But overall, I'm absolutely in love with the JULES Maxi Triangle Cut Out Dress. It's fun, flirty, and sure to make you stand out from the crowd. Highly recommended!

I recently added the Prettylittlething Women's figure-hugging long sleeve bodycon dress to my wardrobe, and it's quickly become a go-to for those chilly Friday nights. The slinky twist-cut out design adds a unique touch to an otherwise straightforward black dress. The fabric, a comfortable blend of 95% polyester and 5% elastane, moves effortlessly with you, allowing for a seamless transition from dinner to dancing.
One aspect that could be improved is the material's breathability, as it tends to get a bit stuffy in warmer climates. However, the dress remains a stylish choice for those cooler nights out, its flattering fit and chic design making it a worthwhile addition to any weekend outfit rotation.

Buyer's Guide

When shopping for a black cutout dress, there are several important features and considerations to keep in mind. This buyer's guide will help you navigate through the different aspects of black cutout dresses to ensure you make an informed decision that suits your style and needs.

Material and Durability

https://preview.redd.it/azot3jft97wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd97054e98cc6076ee4796966b1f73c03f87dc0d
The quality of the material used in a black cutout dress can greatly impact its durability and overall appearance. Look for dresses made from fabrics such as crepe, chiffon, or polyester, which are not only long-lasting but also provide a flattering fit. Be sure to check the garment's care instructions to ensure it meets your maintenance preferences.

Cutout Placement and Design

The cutout design on a black dress can significantly impact its overall style. Some common cutout placements include the waist, shoulders, neckline, and back. Consider the areas you feel most comfortable showing off and choose a dress that highlights those features. Additionally, pay attention to the size and shape of the cutouts, as these can influence the overall look and feel of the dress.

Fit and Sizing

Ensuring that your black cutout dress fits well is crucial for both comfort and appearance. Many dresses are available in a range of sizes, but it's essential to double-check the sizing chart provided by the retailer to ensure the best possible fit. Also, consider trying on different styles and brands to determine which ones suit your body shape and personal preferences the most.

Black cutout dresses can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Consider the type of event you'll be attending when choosing a dress - be it a casual outing, a formal dinner, or a special party. Considering the versatility of a dress is also important, as it can save you money and space in your wardrobe by serving multiple purposes. Look for dresses that can be dressed up with statement jewelry and heels or dressed down with simple flats and minimalistic accessories.

Care and Maintenance

Before purchasing a black cutout dress, make sure to review its care instructions carefully. Some fabrics may require special care, such as hand washing or dry cleaning. Additionally, be aware of the color's sensitivity to light or washing, as this can affect the longevity of your dress and its appearance over time.

Price Range and Value

When shopping for a dress, consider your budget and prioritize finding one that provides the best value for your money. Sometimes, investing in a higher-quality dress can save you money in the long run, as it will likely last longer and maintain its appearance better than cheaper alternatives.

Customer Reviews and Ratings

Finally, always take the time to read customer reviews and ratings when shopping for a black cutout dress. This can provide valuable insight into factors such as sizing accuracy, material quality, and overall satisfaction with the product. Pay close attention to recurring themes and concerns among reviewers to help you make the best purchase decision possible.

1. What are black cutout dresses?

Black cutout dresses are fashionable clothes designed with cutouts or open sections that reveal parts of the body, typically in a modest and stylish manner. These dresses are usually made from materials like cotton, silk, or lace and come in various lengths, cuts, and styles to suit different body types and occasions.

2. Are cutouts on dresses appropriate for all occasions?

Cutouts on dresses can be appropriate for certain occasions, such as parties, date nights, or nights out with friends. However, it's essential to assess the level of cutouts and make sure that they align with the dress code and formality of the event you're attending. For more conservative occasions, choose a dress with smaller or fewer cutouts, or opt for a different style altogether.

3. How do I choose the right black cutout dress for my body type?

To find the perfect black cutout dress for your body type, consider the following tips:
  • Choose a dress that highlights your best features and conceals areas you'd rather not draw attention to.
  • Consider the cut of the dress, such as an A-line, bodycon, or fit-and-flare style.
  • Select a dress that is comfortable and fits well.
  • Accessorize wisely with complementary footwear, jewelry, and other accessories to enhance your look.

4. What should I wear with a black cutout dress?

Depending on the style of the dress and the occasion, you can pair your black cutout dress with various accessories. For more casual events, wear it with sandals, flats, or sneakers, and add a crossbody bag or clutch. For weddings, parties, or corporate events, consider complementing your dress with high heels and elegant jewelry, such as statement earrings or chic bracelets.

5. How do I care for my black cutout dress?

To maintain the quality and appearance of your black cutout dress, follow these care instructions:
  • Wash your dress according to the fabric care label, either by hand or in a washing machine on a gentle cycle.
  • Air-dry your dress by laying it flat or hanging it on a padded hanger.
  • Iron the dress on a low heat setting, focusing on the fabric rather than the cutouts to protect them from thermal damage.
  • Store your dress in a cool, dry place, preferably in a garment bag or on a padded hanger in your closet, away from direct sunlight.

2024.04.22 23:31 Seleno_Sofia The Magician card I made!

The Magician card I made!
Hello! Idk if any of you remember but a few months I posted by fool card I made. I already had the Magician card done then but to follow the subreddit rules, I waited a month to post this. Buuuuut then I realized that my notes for it were in my old sketchbook that I don’t have never in my dorm. I still don’t have it on me but I figured I’d just post anyway and add info later if I felt like it.
Ok so this design is more heavy on the Rider deck inspiration but I still wanted to make much more my own. I started by looking at the symbolisms around the magician and everything, reading into what the elements on the rider deck mean. I also looking into the old Italian tarot card and that’s where I got the idea of turning the infinity symbol into a hat like the old card does. The Magician being a card of illusions, manifestaron and the like, I wanted to incorporate those elements. Starting with the table, the rider card only shows 2 of the legs while the old deck only shows 3, nodding to the magician hiding something or you not having all the pieces at your disposal. This reminded me of that optical illusion where two guys are looking at some sticks and one ways that there are 3 sticks and one says there are four so I used that same illusion on the table legs. It looks a little funny but I’ll take it. Next in the old Italian deck the magician also has an extra finger on one of this hands so there I got the idea of multiple arms holding the suits, plus I feel like it adds to the idea of Magician being multifaceted. And ofc I kept two of the hands pointing, one up, down, to keep that symbolism of “As above, so below”. The pattern on her tunic and hat are meant to be like a big mandala on the fabrics as they are associated with concentrating energy and manifesting things. It doesn’t look as obvious on the tunic but the hat makes it pretty clear I hope.
The flowers around her are lily of the valley, pansies, crocus. Given that the Magician is the first card on the deck, I associate it with the start of the journey, new beginnings and the like so the flowers I picked are onces that bloom in the early spring or late winter. Lily of the valley is present on the rider deck card but I swear that was a research rabbit hole all of its own. Somewhere I read that it revered to roses, somewhere else crocus? It seems like lily of the valley was more of a name to call some flower but it was never explicit? At least looking into it form the biblical aspect which is where I found the must discussion on. Anyways moving onto the pansies and crocus, crocus is also a biblical significant flower that, as stated, sometimes came up as being the “Lilly of the valley”. While the now-commonly-known-as lily of the valley means finding joy, Crocus I found to also have ties to new beginnings and such. Finally there are violets (or pansies? Without my sketchbook and my notes I don’t remember which one I ended up going with and they look very similar with only slight petal differences I did not take into account when drawing them). They are related to creativity and spirituality.
Finally there is the setting. For those of you that remember, my fool card was set underwater and I want my decks to have the theme of the queens being the fool going on these journey and meeting all these figures. As such, it was only right that this card take place on the shore, on the way to land. Also the Sundays being scarce and not lighting the Magician’s face being more of that element of mystery and not seeing everything quite as it is.
Other little details are the silhouette which is in the shape of the Roman numeral for one (which was more of a happy accident than anything but hey it’s nice) and the table and the cloud and the magician having a combined silhouette of a roughly hour-glass shape as time brings many new opportunities and beginnings, just as the magician offers.
That should be about everything, when I get my sketchbook back I might come back in here and add more, specially to the symbolism of the flowers as I went down a whole rabbit hole for that alone. I hope you all enjoy my take on the card and have a beautiful, blessed day!

2024.04.22 14:10 Wolven91 Drifting - Part 7

"That went well." Qik said as she slipped a foot into the nerve suit's trouser leg while Casper was currently running his fingernails across the top of his scalp, itching it vigorously. The man glared at the messy cap of hair that had plagued him for the last hour.
He'd had to wear it for the entire interview with a GC representative. All a giant farse to hide the fact that as a 'critically endangered species' mere months of living in geckin space, Caper was now piloting thirty-foot mechs that had the potential of killing him if he took a bad hit.
"I want to burn this." He said bluntly, glaring at the ridiculous yellow, blonde wing that was more in place on a fictional character than real life.
"Do it, throw it into the furnace." Qik shrugged, as she shimmied into the Nerve-Suit, its shiny material hugging her curves in ways that made the human stare quite openly. Qik was slim, sleek, and athletic. Her abdominal muscles showed through her fur quite easily and the 'skintight' Nerve-Suit only emphasised that further. His eyes greedily drank in the way the light played over the smooth contours. He blinked, snapping back to reality. Why was it hard to concentrate?
"Uhh, I... Can't. That was it. It belongs to a geckin, not part of the military. But... why did they have a wig?" Casper asked, holding it in his hands and squinting at the item, trying to distract himself from the toned leg that was parked on the bench next to him as Qik adjusted and made sure the suit was in place.
"Apparently they had a fantasy of a human. Or a facsimile." Qik explained as Casper put it aside and began to disrobe.
"What do you mean?" He asked as he turned away from her to remove his underwear, still suffering from the human-made taboo of being undressed in front of the opposite gender. He'd discovered that, that was not a common fear amongst the stars. Humans were the odd one out for how much they cared about separating the genders. Even on his public ID, it didn't have his gender listed.
"Humans aren't new in some parts of the galaxy apparently." Qik began, fists now on her hips whilst she openly stared at Casper as he donned the stretchy Nerve-Suit. "You might have only been officially part of the GC for like, six months? But it seems that Ssypno media has human-things running around long before then. Rumours and shit. This geckin was a human lover." The lopel mercenary finished with a grin.
Casper frowned and ensured his suit was donned correctly, trying to line up the needle holes with the red welts that covered his ashen skin.
"Human lover, before humans were found. Sounds like a-abduct-..."
Casper blinked as the changing room was suddenly filled with a deafening roar, he tried to say something, but nothing came out as he became lightheaded and lost his balance. Toppling forwards, strong arms and hands grabbed him, arresting his fall. It took a moment for his legs to work and lift himself back up, knees shaking. He looked down at the brown fur and black latex covered arms holding him.
Qik.
Noise from behind his ear. She was saying something. He took a guess, not wanting her to know how far gone he was.
"Dizzy... Just a bit dizzy." As he was sat down on the bench with her help. "Got up too quick."
"You been eating?" Qik asked, her face close to his. She had knelt down and held his head between both of her hands, peering into his eyes, using her thumb to pull his eyelid down slightly and observed him. They were warm. Her hands were so warm and blocked out the world and the roaring noise. He gently reached up and touched her hands, not quite holding her there, but ensuring she didn't pull away too quickly.
"Yeah..." He lied, the young man hadn't been hungry recently. He'd nibbled the nutritional mush but had poured most of it down the toilet before going to bed. He felt fine, he'd felt this way before, and knew the moment he was back in the rig, he'd be better than fine once more.
The brown furred rabbit-like alien merely frowned, then clicked her tongue. She let go, much to his disappointment.
"Come on then. We're testing live weapons today. No more simulations. You're going to need a pick-me-up." She decided on his behalf, her voice moving away.
Blinking, Casper willed himself to concentrate, to get back in the room and turned his head to find the alien rifling through her jacket's inner pockets. She pulled a tiny hard packet and held it between two fingers, holding it to the light. Standing back up, her legs going on for days, she cat-walked back over to where he was sat and folded herself back down.
She took the packet, snapped it in half and held it to Casper's nose with one hand, while the other grasped the back of his head, preventing him from retreating.
"Sniff. Once and hard." She ordered, eyes fixing him in place.
He trusted her, Casper complied.
Immediately he felt better. The second he finished inhaling, his lungs breathed out through his mouth and his vision became notably clearer. His eyes felt as if he had put drops into them. The tightness in the back of his skull was gone. He wasn't high or wired. There wasn't a tremble to his hands like when he had, had too much coffee, but in a matter of seconds; he was awake and alert once more. Qik nodded at his eyes focusing on her a moment later. Even his legs felt strong and ready, the tremble, gone as if it were never there.
"It's not a fix, but it keeps you on point during extended missions. It'll get you through today. You'll need to eat tonight though. Come on. Let's get going." She explained, patting his knee and standing up right, leaving his head at hip height.

Casper received a message from Qik. These were public knowledge, and Qik never spoke of private matters over these messages as anyone could have been reading them. At least while they were operating under geckin jurisdiction.
{Okay New Guy, first up. Heavy weapon frames.}
Qik's rig was running ahead, the spiked ends of her rig's legs tip toeing across the landscape like she was merely a thirty-foot mech running through a feel of daisies. As the pair of them left the safety of the hangers and went to the wider, more deserted firing ranges for the rigs, Casper was reminded that they were travelling a not insignificant distance at high speed.
Casper's rig was running alongside her, but it was more of a skip, where his massive metal feet kicked at the earth and his booster suite, fit to his back, propelled him forwards in great leaps and bounds. It didn't matter which way he wanted to move, the directional jets would automatically move with his desires, and fire as one, launching the human rig in a complete 3D space. Even up into the sky, although jumping was ill-advised at most times.
While Qik's rig was armoured and designed to be fast and deadly, offering her an all-round offence and defence, Casper's rig was an 'ultralight', designed to not be hit, by being faster than the opponent. It suited his style, fast and accurate, avoiding confrontation if he could. The near zero drift of his connection to his rig meant that plenty of effort was put into freedom of movement of the machine. If his body could do it in 'real life', he could do it inside his rig. Even jumping, the engineering crew of the geckins had put a lot of thought into shock absorbers, just to prevent the utter destruction of the suit from one bad landing.
It had gone so far that Qik had been tasked with teaching the young man how to roll and fall safely on crash mats in the real world. He hated those lessons; his biological side was even weaker now... not like his mechanical body. It had yet to fail him even once.
The new received message caught his full attention.
{Heavy weapon frames are equipment packages that are launched into the combat area during the softening barrages. To the enemy, it could be an unexploded ordinance. To you? It's a power up.} Casper felt something ahead, it made him giddy. It was something pleasant. Something good. Like a 'blip' in his mind, he made a straight line for it.
The pair of the giant rigs came up to the lip of a crater. At the centre, in the lowest part of the divot, was a metal lid. Without prompting the lid pinged off and a weapon package appeared from the ground.
{Approach it.}
Casper complied, sliding down the loose dirt with more ease than should have been possible. The loose dirt of the craters had toppled more than one mech in the past. As he approached however, the package unfolded, and an autocannon revealed itself to him. Without training, the software of the rig stepped in and he instantly knew how to equip the item. It was always odd when the software packages that were part of his rig inserted their knowledge in places that he had previously no experience.
He had not known to aim for joints to disable a mech's weapons or movement. He did not know that pilots were almost always situated between the shoulders at the back of the mech. He didn't know, to duck his head and shoulder the weapon platform, nor how to all clicked and clunked into place. But now, thanks to the software, he knew it by instinct. The moment he needed the information; it was there, in his mind as if he had merely forgotten it.
Casper stood up straight, shouldering the platform and felt the weight. He could feel that his movement was lessened dramatically, bending his knees under the weight.
[Its heavy.] He sent.
{You're not going to be able to boost or move at your normal speed with that thing. This is a shoot, empty the weapon, then bug out package.}
[Speed is life?] He sent with mild hope she would get the reference.
{Yes, that's a very good motto to keep in your head. Now, that mountain over there insulted us, fire at will.} She demanded, and a pockmarked slab of rock was pinged as a target. His optics tracked it perfectly, so did the cannon. The cannon was easy to use. It was as if Casper had gained a third eye, one that followed exactly where the barrel was pointing. It was no harder to aim the weapon than it was to cross or uncross one's eyes. It took concentration, an effort, but no more than that. A mild effort to aim an oversized tank cannon.
If Casper could smile, he would have, he settled for clicking his optics. The satisfying clunk and explosion of the weapon rattled the entire frame of Casper's rig with each round. His shots, despite aiming somewhat carefully, went far wider than he expected. It certainly wasn't as accurate as he wanted, so he knelt low and aimed his shots instead of firing wildly, tensing his arm.
Clunk.
Clunk.
Clunk.
The shells of the expended ordinance flew out the side of the cannon, away from his rig until they dented the earth. He was watching the rounds carefully as they arced, however. He was pleased when each hit the centre of the previous round's explosion, visibly boring into the side of the mountain until entire sections began to crumble and begin a rockslide now that gravity wanted its due.
Each time Casper willed the weapon to fire, not pulling any mechanical trigger, he felt a counter in his mind. Like each fired round made him lighter, and emptier until finally nothing more happened. He knew that he had nothing left in this weapon.
{You're out, that equipment is now nothing more than extra weight. Eject it.}
Casper shrugged and pins fired as one. The new frame that had locked around Casper's rig fell to pieces, freeing him. Immediately he felt his spine lengthen and had to resist the urge to bounce on the spot with the returned freedom. His rig twisted and flexed, while Qik's rig merely watched on, still as a statue. His rig's arms extended, then returned, shadow boxing in the open air.
{You really feel more alive out here, don't you?}
[You have no idea...]
{Tell me about it, we got more stuff to try, Southeast.}
A new 'blip' appeared in the distance. It was a curious sensation, like there was a physical presence touching his forehead when he looked in that direction. The software, melding perfectly with his nerves. The pair of them began their run once more, bounding over hills and along valleys. Casper breathed deep, the vents across his chest opening fully, reducing his armour, but allowing his reactor to run hotter. Everything was in sync.
He was the mech. The mech was the real him.
[It's a freedom unlike any other.]
{I've enjoyed lots of different freedom New Guy. It can't be that good. }
[I don't think I could explain it to you unless you lived like a human did only a little bit ago. We were told we had freedom, we didn't.]
{I hope your old leaders survived, only a matter of time until a juicy contract pops up for them}
[I don't want revenge. I just don't want to go back.]
Casper hadn't even laid eyes on the metal capsule before the lid audibly pinged off this time. His mech grabbed the lip of the crater as his legs and boosters threw him up and over the lip. It was the same movement as jumping over a fence, only his entire body knew where it was and where the ground was. He'd never catch his foot on the ground, he'd never worry about being tired. He was truly in control now.
Similar to the Autocannon there was equipment hanging in the air, ready for Casper's rig to get into position. He did so without hesitation, he trusted himself.
{Fastest method of taking out a threat is to ensure its destroyed. Let me get clear before you turn all that on.} Came a message from Qik before he felt her rig retreat rapidly over several hills.
Casper's rig stepped into the frame and a hilt was presented to his hand, which grasped and locked it into place. On his opposite arm, a round disc was bolted into place, the lug nuts twisted and locked in within seconds. Casper turned and swept the hilt in an arc in front of him, just as the fusion engine buried within burped to life.
[You got me a sword!?] He demanded, moving through several motions, finding them natural and fluid despite never having held a sword, real or fake, before.
{It's technically a blowtorch, but if you want to designate it a sword, go for it New Guy.}
Again, Casper's rig's optics clicked in glee as he swung the sword in greater arcs with faster and faster strokes until he was spinning and hopping from one leg to the other. He was graceful and deadly in equal measures. The young man felt as if he could take on any master swordsman if they had the ill fortune to cross him.
{Enjoying yourself? Good to see you so loose and limber. It'll be useful for this next bit.} Came Qik's next message, but she was beyond his range of perception, even if he tried to extend his sight, his feelings; wherever she was, if she was still in the dunes, she was low and still. Hidden from him.
He was turning his head from left to right, searching the horizon for a clue to where she might be, when the first shot pinged off his left shoulder. Sparks flew and something squealed off into the distance. Casper rolled forward with the force of the below, bending over and getting cover within the crater.
More rounds from the west began to fly overhead, chewing up the crater's edge. He could see and hear the bright flashes of the live rounds whizzing mere inches, or what felt like inches, from his head.
{New Objective: get back to the hangers without being disabled. Good luck New Guy.} Was the final message Casper received from Qik. Emotions never came across in the text format, but this felt cold, or maybe she was amused? Either way, Casper knew the lopel pilot was serious. Casper shuffled on his hands and knees, the ignited blade dying at his whim. He made his way around the crater away from the barrage of bullets that threatened to take the head off anything that appeared.
In the brief moment that Casper's reconnaissance unit popped up, time seemed to slow. His optics clicked and he immediately saw the tower that had sprung up from the ground, from between two of the formerly unimportant hills. Atop it was a turret that was firing a stream of bullets his way. In this slowed state, he could see the barrels twist and adjust to his new position, so he ducked again and shuffled to the bottom of the crater.
Moments later, the space his head had occupied exploded in a shower of dirt and sod. But Casper didn't care.
He might have cared if he was weak.
If he feared for his flesh.
But he didn't.
He was inside a machine that made him fast, strong and dangerous. He might have worn a frown, or even a grimace, but the rig couldn't recreate those movements. As he prepared to leave the crater, his optics clicked instead.
From the crater, Casper's rig exploded out of it with a burst of speed that belied the size of the machine. His legs unfolded and braced him for impact as the rig landed, scraping down the side of one of the hills, sending dirt and grass flying. There was no delay, the main thruster that sat in the very centre of Casper's back roared to life and catapulted him forwards!
If he were a mere human, he may have feared the speed at which he rocketed forwards towards the turret, he may have even feared the barrels as they tracked him, spinning up, ready to vomit another stream at him.
But not whilst he was within his mech, not while he was who he was meant to be.
He.
Was.
Invincible.
The tower grew and grew as his rig approached at Mach speed, all he had to do to reach it was kick the ground only a few moments before he hit the base directly. His trajectory changed in an instant and the rig soared into the sky majestically. The barrels flashed and burped another stream, but the sword was only part of the weapons package he had picked up, the shield bolted to his other arm was raised high, tilted to deflect, rather than absorb the rounds that screeched and wailed as they ricocheted off the solid shield.
The sword came to life once more, flame and fire that burned in the thousands of degrees flowed from the hilt, directly into the metal of the turret, cutting through the armour with ease and destroying both the precious wiring and the volatile ammunition within. Like a knife through butter. As gravity reasserted itself, Casper bent his knees and the booster pack closed all the vents on his back, opened the vents to his front and fired, softening his landing in a cloud of dirt just as the tower and the turret exploded in a shower of sparks and fire.
[Hah! Take that!] He sent on a broad wave, standing in his moment of true victory, one fist raised, holding the sword aloft.
The RL238 AAFPPT (Anti-Armour, Falling Petal, Pass Through) round pummelling straight through the left hand vents on the front of Casper's rig without losing even a fraction of its energy. The spinning munition tore through internal components without a single care, easily completing its mission of punching right back out the otherside of the machine. The round continued its journey for just short of a mile before being oblitorated as buried itself into the dirt.
The barrel of the 120mm rifle that had fired the round was still glowing at this moment. Vapour steamed gently away, unfussed by any breeze despite the violence of noise and light that flashed by only moments ago.
Qik winced in her rig as she observed the perfect hole straight through the chest of Casper’s rig. It was a hard lesson, but one every pilot needed to have.To be disabled.
What did it mean to a pilot with no drift though?
