2024.05.19 00:52 lumpytorta Do I have a medical malpractice case(s)? I am struggling here with multiple and I need advice.

F28 with Ovarian Cancer and I need some advice here, I am really struggling with medical negligence not just from one doctor, but multiple. I’ve been dealing with a lot of discrimination because I’m young and “healthy looking” and doctors constantly dismiss me or discriminate me for some reason and I’m tired of it. I’ve been sick and disabled since last November and I had a job but started my LOA then.
For two years I was seeing a rheumatologist for an underlying autoimmune disorder(s) and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Primary immunodeficiency, fibromyalgia, CIDP and still being investigated for more issues.
In November I decided to go on a LOA because my flares were starting to become more frequent and severe. My psychiatrist was the one who filled out the LOA paperwork for the time from Nov-Dec because I was hesitant to ask my Rheumatologist. I was told by my rheumatologists office that filling out LOA paperwork was $300 out of pocket and at the time I didn’t have that money so my psychiatrist signed it because I was also struggling with my mental health and family issues that time.
I was supposed to go back to work in January but at the start of the new year I got really sick and my flares started to ramp up again so I had to request a new LOA. My psychiatrist couldn’t help me with my LOA paperwork anymore because it was more health related now and told me to go see my rheumatologist. I was still hesitant because of the fee and then when I was about to see my rheumatologist again and get my bloodwork done I got a surprise bill from the lab where I get my bloodwork done for $400 after insurance. They wouldn’t let me get additional tests until I paid the fee and I couldn’t see my rheumatologist until I had my bloodwork done. I made an appointment with my rheumatologist anyways but the soonest I could get wasn’t until after the LOA deadline in March. I also couldn’t get any disability benefits until that LOA form was filled out by my doctor so I had no income to pay for any of this.
I ended up in the Emergency Room on 2/16/24 a little over a week before I needed to submit the forms for LOA and at this point my employer was threatening to fire me for failing to provide the LOA paperwork. I tried explaining the situation to one of my managers but he wasn’t having it and didn’t care.
When I went to the first emergency room I went in for multiple serious symptoms, the knew I had an underlying autoimmune disorder causing the flares and that I had surgery 3 years prior to remove ovarian cysts on my right ovary. I told the emergency room that I had a lot of abdominal pain across multiple areas, I was really weak, fatigued, dealing with vertigo, blood in stool, persistent bloating, frequent urination and my symptoms were to the point where I was losing my ability to walk. My partner was holding me the entire time so I wouldn’t fall.
The emergency room did a bunch of tests that included a basic blood panel, physical exam and a CT scan of my abdomen. They didn’t find the bleeding but instead found that I had a complex 14cm tumor on my right ovary which they deemed a dermoid cyst.
When they gave me the news they officially diagnosed me with a “dermoid cyst from birth” even though I countered their diagnosis and told them that was impossible because I had surgery 3 years prior. The doctor didn’t backtrack at all, just stuttered and continued to discharge me because it “wasn’t an emergency” just because I wasn’t bleeding out despite all of my serious progressing symptoms.
I angrily left the ER knowing it was utter BS and deep down I knew it was cancer because of how sick I was. I could literally feel I didn’t have much time but because I looked young and healthy and my basic blood panel didn’t throw up any huge red flags at them even they dismissed me and misdiagnosed me. I wasn’t even given anything to manage the pain.
I even told them I was already on a medical leave and that I’ve been really sick but that it was getting bad and I couldn’t see my rheumatologist. However I didn’t know about the tumor until then. I told them I needed help with the LOA paperwork too and had they admitted me I would have been able to get an extension and still have my job and benefits. I could have started treatment sooner and received disability pay but instead was forced to continue living with this pain. It was so large that I was at risk of torsion rupture and necrosis.
The next day I called up every gynecologist I could to see where I could go for the soonest appointment for an ultrasound. I found a doctor who took me as an emergency appointment a few days later and he confirmed it was most likely malignant and that I needed surgery ASAP. I talked to him about my LOA situation too because I was running out of time and I was too disabled to work. He also refused to help me sign my LOA paperwork because according to him “ovarian cancer can’t cause systemic symptoms and you’re going to need to wait until surgery before put you on leave”. I told him I had an underlying autoimmune disorder that I think is being exasperated by the cancer and I was just dismissed yet again despite needing someone to physically help me walk so I don’t fall. He also didn’t give me anything for the pain I was in.
I had to turn in my LOA that day but because of this I was forced to resign my position or face getting fired and becoming un-hirable so I had to quit. In quitting I lost everything, benefits, stocks, my job. I’m now in debt with multiple cc going to collections because I haven’t been getting an income since January and I’m just starting chemo so I have no idea when I’ll be able to work again. I don’t know what to do here. I was going to try to settle my debt but with what money??
After I lost my insurance I applied for medi-cal but something with my application in there system wasn’t right and it was in a never ending pending limbo state. I tried waiting it out for two weeks, calling them sorting it out and doing it right by the system but every day I was getting sicker and I felt I was running out of time.
Two weeks later I went to a different ER because at this point I could sleep and I couldn’t eat. I was miserable from the symptoms and never ending anxiety and mood swings of possibly having an autoimmune disorder like SLE and ovarian cancer.
The second ER finally admit me and confirmed it was cancer. I was admitted for emergency surgery and by this time the tumor had already ruptured, twisted my ovary and grew to 20cm at the largest point. This was also a battle but that’s besides the point.
Anyways now to my current situation. I started chemo about two weeks ago and my current oncologist is also being negligent.
I found out the other day that she blindly prescribed a medication for nausea that interacts with a medication that I was already on. The interaction is known to cause arrhythmias apparently. During my first week of chemo I was taking both meds and mentioned that my chest had been feeling heavy and I had pain. I was told it was steroids. It continued and then one night as I was falling asleep my heart started to pound really hard for about 10-15 seconds. I told my doctor about it and again steroids.
That same day I went to pick up a prescription and just happened to ask if anything interacted and that’s when I found out that it was a major interaction and I literally could have died had I not luckily been titrating off of the offending medicine. I stopped taking those meds and immediately the chest pain stopped and I haven’t had an episode like that since.
I am freaked out and don’t want to continue my care with her due to her negligence. This should have been a conversation at minimum and she didn’t even tell me she prescribed it. I just got a notification from my pharmacy that it was ready. I also didn’t know about the interaction when it was picked up because my mom picked it up for me and she doesn’t speak English very well.
I talked to my care teams assistant and told her I wanted a change of doctors because I didn’t trust her after this and she said she was going to put in the request. They called me yesterday though and said they weren’t going to switch me because I had already started treatment and refused to switch my doctors despite everything that’s happened. I am livid and don’t want to continue with them.
I already set up an appointment for a second opinion but that’s not for another two weeks before the appointment and I don’t want to interruption treatment.
I have a rare type of ovarian cancer with a high grade tumor. It was a germ cell tumor called immature teratoma. They said it is stage 1 but because I had emergency surgery and everything was rushed I don’t feel this is an accurate diagnosis because I have pain in all of the surrounding areas where the tumor was pushing up against. The tumor was exasperating all of my autoimmune symptoms and causing me to be in a never ending flare so my body was heavily damaged. Im becoming disabled at 28 and I don’t know who to hold accountable here. I have so much anxiety with doctors now because I’m traumatized from my experience with them dismissing me and discriminating against me. Like I’m young so I “must be able to tolerate more”.
I’m in a dark place right now and really need some advice here. What should I do? What CAN I DO? Who do I hold accountable? What do I need to have a solid malpractice case??
I feel like the first emergency room should at least be held liable for making me lose my job, misdiagnosing me and then sending me a $1600 medical bill. Someone help me with this please I am struggling and still haven’t gotten approved for disability benefits yet so I’ve had no income since January. Thanks.

2024.05.19 00:50 echo4891 Help with a friend/colleague giving the silent treatment.

A little long, but bear with me! I a tarted a new job last year. It’s in an area that I have wanted to work in since I was a young teenager and that I have the opportunity to get work experience to work towards a career in the same area. Without being too identifying - it’s a very niche area, very very few people would want to work as what I want to do/could cope and there are VERY few opportunities for roles as I live in a small city (moving elsewhere is absolutely not an option). Apart from the work, it’s a small team and I everyone was super welcoming, appreciative of my work and supportive of my desire for another role. My boss has been great and is happy for me to get work experience. I became friendly with one of my colleagues - he’s been super welcoming, supportive and encouraging. Since I told him the role I wanted (he has this role already), he has said he’ll happily train me, that he’ll do anything to help get me there etc. The friendship started becoming fairly flirty, and we started talking lots outside work and hung out a few times. We both went through divorces at the same time, and so I think we clicked. We have become very close. He’s called me one of his best friends, said all sorts of lovely things to me.
The other week, after asking him about something at work we both are involved in, he told me that he didn’t want to train me anymore (that it was offensive to another colleague who recently did not get a permanent position), that I don’t work in the space (that he does and I want to be in), queried did I apply for my job for THAT role or just “to get a foot in the door” (it’s both, which my boss is completely aware of!). I’m a very sensitive person, and I’ve been down as my cat went missing and after a month has not returned. I started crying because I was so so stunned. He didn’t look at me, spoke very calmly and then said he only wants to train people who are of “sound mind” and that it’s “nothing against mental illness”. I was mortified because I had told him in private that I suffer from a mental health illness but no one else at work knew and he said it in front of others.
Since this, he has been giving me the silent treatment. Had not messaged me, refusing to even look at me when we do cross paths at work and ignoring work emails. My sister works in psychology and says he has all the typical signs of some who suffers from covert narcissism. In hindsight he ticks all the boxes. I’m deeply hurt, but am working through it. What I want advice on is - how can I best deal with this? I’m ignoring his negative attention seeking (I noticed he unfollowed me on social media, then removed me as a follower, and when I said nothing he went back to weeks old text messages and removed ‘reactions’ which notify me. I’m not engaging. But work has since become horrible. Thankfully I work in a different space to him, but I still need to go to his space often and it feels very much like the others there are also being a little less friendly. Since he bitched to me for months about almost everyone in our unit, I’m assuming he’s now bitching about me to our colleagues. I’ve read up on covert narcissism and have refused to engage in his negative provocations or confront him as when I once did this before he gaslit me and I ended up begging for forgiveness (about something I didn’t do!). I just want to know the best way to professionally deal with his hostility. I suspect that once someone else does something to piss him off he’ll warm to me again, but if not, I just want to be able to get to a professional/cordial/friendly place.
Is it possible? Or do I just need to ride it out? I feel so angry at myself for falling victim to his crap but I know I’m an easy target - I have a mood disorder, am a major people pleaser, am a single mum and was previously in an emotionally abusive marriage. Work was my happy place for this whole time after being very unhappy in another role. I’ve spoken to my boss about all this (bar the personal friendship stuff) and he’s a great support. But this energy at work is making it hard for me to enjoy going.

2024.05.19 00:49 pearyeet Timeline/low stats school list/odds

Do I even stand a chance?
Feeling defeated….I just recently got my MCAT score back, and after scoring consistently in the mid-500s on every practice FL, I got only one point higher than my initial score (495–>496). I am nontraditional (out of college for a few years) with roughly a 3.35 cGPA, 3.0 sGPA, 2000+ clinical experience hours, 100ish shadowing hours (MD, DO, and PA). I grew up in a medically underserved rural area, and I’m interested in rural primary care and plan on only applying DO at this time.
I know that my stats are below average, and I am strongly considering retaking MCAT either in August or September, as well as doing volunteer work this year and continuing to work my healthcare job. However, I really want to apply this cycle, and I’m not sure if I have time to study for the MCAT and retake it by the time I’d need to apply. Another option might be to send an update letter to ADCOMs, though I’m not sure that this would help if I had already gotten a rejection prior to updating MCAT.

2024.05.19 00:49 chairmanbaooo Is it easier to existing WA state government employees to switch roles to other WA state jobs?

I'm currently interviewing for wa state application developer jobs but I want to move out of writing code and into project management. I don't qualify for PM jobs at the state because I don't have PM experience.
Is it easier to get a PM job once I'm already a WA state gov employee? I know all jobs are open to the public but do I get a leg up once more PM jobs open at the state?
EDIT: easier for* existing

2024.05.19 00:47 MolluuuLL Admission cancellation warning

Hello, I am a transfer student and I recently received an admission cancellation warning. Am I at risk of having my admission rescinded?
I submitted my SIR yesterday and only then realized that CS students are required to get an A in Math 22. Unfortunately, I received a C+ in that course. I've updated my transcripts and contacted the admissions office, who indicated that there is a high likelihood of admission denial. Later in the afternoon, I received an email with an application cancellation warning.
I saw on the UCD website that the average GPA for CIS 21JA, CIS22C, and Math 22 needs to be at least 3.4, and since I received As in the other subjects, I thought I would be fine.
I have submitted explanation about my housing issues and COVID situation at the time. Will this be enough to prevent my admission from being cancelled? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

2024.05.19 00:46 Visual_Fly_9638 CSED occurs in a year- question on what to expect

Hi All,
Due to stupid decisions on my part I had 2007-2013 back taxes assessed to me. This came to a head in 2014 and resulted in 2015 in an installment agreement, and due to my financial status at the time I was put in non-collection status. According to my transcripts the assessment date was 8-2015, about 90 days after I agreed to the installment agreement which puts the CSED as I understand it from my account transcript at 2025. In 2017 I got a much better job and started making payments and have not missed a payment since. I've paid off all years except for 2008-2010 and owe about 60k left. I'm estimating I'll pay about 20-25k more before I hit the CSED. I'll have 2008 paid off by then and probably about half of 2009.
I'm wondering, generally, what I can expect from the IRS between now and August of 2025. Will they try to pressure me into extending the payments? I have a call with them due in probably March of 2025 when they request my finances to adjust my payment. Usually I just do the form and call them and go through the payment amount adjustment but I'm wondering if I'll get pressured to agree to an extension since it'll be the last 6 months or so or if that is even a thing? I have a vague memory of a potential 5 year extension if I agree to it back when this all went down in 2015 but I can't find that in my notes or paperwork so I don't even know if that was or is a thing.
I don't see any paperwork on officially when the time will run out. I kept all the paperwork from the tax attorney at the time and the IRS documents.
Would it be a good idea to contact a tax attorney for representation towards the end of this year and possibly have them interact with the IRS on this next request for financial information? I do not own a home and my main asset arguably is my 401k which has about 20k in it. I don't have any other investments or asses other than a pretty old car.
Thank you for any feedback in advance!

2024.05.19 00:44 JukeBox42069 Worried that I might not get the job due to my dad trying to bribe the manager

[18M] I recently went to a hiring event and got interviewed. Everyone there seemed extremely chill and laid back. It seemed like the type of place where there was no drama, just good vibes. I was extremely nervous and stuttered a bit, but l got through it. The guy that interviewed me said he liked me and he brought a girl over who i assumed was an assistant manager or something and she reviewed the papers that I signed as well as my resume, asked me a few questions, and then said that she liked me too.
The guy said that it was likely that i'd get hired and that he would look forward to working with me.
A moment later my Dad comes in and they talk for a bit. My dad shows the manager that he works at an important job and tells him that he has a gig that is worth lots of money if the manager is ever interested. He took out his phone and showed him pictures and proof that he worked there. I was embarrassed and the manager looked a bit uncomfortable. On the way back home l asked my dad about it and he said not to worry because no one would be dumb enough to decline an offer like that.
This was on May 16th, it's now May 18th and I still haven't received an email or anything. Should I be worried?

Unlocking Passive Income Streams: Strategies for Financial Freedom

Unlocking Passive Income Streams: Strategies for Financial Freedom in 2024

https://preview.redd.it/lmko4rpsj91d1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5199074a017b6d10c63705a11e1c2f6f9be4a12d
In today's fast-paced world, where job security is no longer a certainty and traditional employment models are evolving, the quest for financial freedom has become more crucial than ever. One of the most effective ways to achieve this goal is by establishing multiple streams of passive income – sources of revenue that require minimal effort to maintain once set up. This article delves into various strategies for earning passive income online, providing actionable steps for each method.

Section 1: Understanding Passive Income

What is Passive Income?

Passive income refers to earnings generated from sources that do not require active involvement or labor once the initial effort has been put in. Unlike active income, which is earned through traditional employment or self-employment, passive income continues to flow in even when you're not actively working. This concept has gained immense popularity in recent years as more individuals seek ways to break free from the constraints of the 9-to-5 grind and achieve financial independence.

Benefits of Passive Income

The allure of passive income lies in its ability to provide a consistent revenue stream with minimal ongoing effort. Here are some of the key benefits of building passive income sources:
  1. Financial Freedom: Passive income can supplement or even replace traditional employment income, allowing you to achieve financial independence and pursue your passions without worrying about money.
  2. Diversification: By diversifying your income streams, you reduce your reliance on a single source of income, mitigating risks and providing a safety net in case one stream dries up.
  3. Scalability: Many passive income strategies can be scaled up, allowing you to increase your earnings without proportionally increasing your workload.
  4. Lifestyle Flexibility: With passive income, you can enjoy greater flexibility in your lifestyle, as you are not tied to a specific location or schedule.

Passive Income vs. Active Income

While both passive and active income contribute to your overall financial well-being, they differ in several ways:
  • Effort Required: Active income requires ongoing effort and labor, while passive income requires initial effort to set up but minimal ongoing work.
  • Time Commitment: Active income is directly tied to the time you invest in working, whereas passive income can generate revenue even when you're not actively working.
  • Scalability: Active income is limited by the number of hours you can work, while passive income can be scaled up more easily by leveraging systems and automation.
  • Risk Diversification: Passive income streams provide diversification, reducing the risk of relying solely on active income from a single source.
By combining active and passive income sources, you can create a well-rounded financial portfolio that provides stability, flexibility, and the potential for long-term wealth building.

Section 2: Popular Passive Income Strategies

There are numerous ways to generate passive income, ranging from traditional investment vehicles to modern online opportunities. Let's explore some of the most popular strategies:

Subsection 2.1: Real Estate Investments

Real estate has long been a favored passive income source for many investors. By owning rental properties, you can generate a steady stream of rental income with minimal effort once the property is acquired and tenants are in place.

Description

Real estate investments can take various forms, including:
  1. Rental Properties: Purchasing residential or commercial properties and renting them out to tenants.
  2. Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs): Investing in companies that own and operate income-producing real estate.
  3. Crowdfunding Real Estate Platforms: Pooling funds with other investors to purchase income-generating properties.

Steps to Get Started

Getting started with real estate investments involves the following steps:
  1. Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify profitable investment opportunities and evaluate potential risks.
  2. Financing: Secure financing through traditional mortgages, private lenders, or alternative financing options.
  3. Property Management: Hire a professional property management company or handle tenant screening, maintenance, and rent collection yourself.
  4. Ongoing Monitoring: Regularly review your investment performance and adjust your strategy as needed.
While real estate investments can be lucrative, they also require significant upfront capital and carry inherent risks, such as vacancies, property maintenance, and market fluctuations.

Subsection 2.2: Stock Market Investments

Investing in the stock market is another popular way to generate passive income. By carefully selecting dividend-paying stocks or investing in index funds, you can earn regular income from your investments.

Description

Stock market investments for passive income can take the following forms:
  1. Dividend Stocks: Owning shares in companies that distribute a portion of their profits to shareholders in the form of dividends.
  2. Index Funds: Investing in low-cost, diversified funds that track the performance of a specific market index, such as the S&P 500.
  3. Mutual Funds: Professionally managed investment funds that hold a diverse portfolio of stocks, bonds, and other securities.

Steps to Get Started

To start investing in the stock market for passive income, follow these steps:
  1. Open a Brokerage Account: Choose a reputable online brokerage platform that suits your investment needs and budget.
  2. Research and Select Investments: Conduct thorough research on potential investments, considering factors such as dividend yield, historical performance, and risk profile.
  3. Develop an Investment Strategy: Determine your investment goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon, and create a diversified portfolio accordingly.
  4. Regularly Monitor and Rebalance: Periodically review your investments and rebalance your portfolio as needed to maintain your desired asset allocation.
While stock market investments offer the potential for passive income and long-term growth, they also carry market risks, and returns are not guaranteed.

Subsection 2.3: Online Businesses

The rise of the internet has opened up a world of opportunities for generating passive income through online businesses. From e-commerce to affiliate marketing, these ventures can be lucrative and scalable once established.

Description

Popular online business models for passive income include:
  1. E-commerce: Building and operating an online store that sells physical or digital products.
  2. Dropshipping: A retail fulfillment model where products are shipped directly from the supplier to the customer, eliminating the need for inventory management.
  3. Affiliate Marketing: Earning commissions by promoting other companies' products or services through your website, social media, or other online platforms.

Steps to Get Started

Starting an online business for passive income involves the following steps:
  1. Choose a Business Model: Evaluate different online business models and select one that aligns with your interests, skills, and goals.

Unlocking Passive Income Streams: Strategies for Financial Freedom in 2024
In today's fast-paced world, where job security is no longer a certainty and traditional employment models are evolving, the quest for financial freedom has become more crucial than ever.

2024.05.19 00:39 JukeBox42069 Worried that I might not get the job due to my dad trying to bribe the manager

On the way back home I asked my dad about it and he said not to worry because no one would be dumb enough to decline an offer like that.
This was on May 16th, it's now May 18th and I still haven't received an email or anything. Should I be worried?

2024.05.19 00:39 bluecloud111 Houston Tx Cosmo schools

Hey all!
I'm 25 and looking to start at a cosmo program. I wanted to do hair and makeup, now mainly hair due to a love of dying my own, back in 8th grade but was stupidly talked out of it. But now i can do what I want!!
I am leaning towards Paul Mitchell (Gessner campus) due to them offering night classes (yay doing what i want but booo having to work a job during the day to pay for living expenses) and i was wondering what your experiences are with Paul Mitchell specifically that campus but also in general. I've done some looking on this sub but everything is a little outdated (pre covid) so i figure it was okay to ask again now.
If you are in the houston area taking night classes, where do you take them at? I believe Houston Training School offers night class as well and they're $5000 cheaper than PM, however both of these schools have mixed reviews. I emailed HCC to inquire about night classes and haven't heard back yet due to it being out of business hours as I write this. Am i missing any schools that have night courses? What about Aveda and Ogle?
Thank you in advance!!

2024.05.19 00:36 ReasonablePoet7624 Just saying my peace

I have basically become a hermit in the last 2 years. I'm terrified of driving now, insurance rate have increased because of the amount of accidents they cause. There is not one drive thru that I can say my order once. I can't walk alone for fear of the males aggression. I stay in my apartment now because out of 38 units, only 6 aren't Indian with 8 people with 8 cars ffs. I can't go outside without seeing one. My son (Status Native) has been looking for jobs for over a year. He can't get even get a Tim's or Walmart job. The people in my building have urinated on vehicles, gone out of their way to litter on the lawns, never hold the door open, and 3 of them shovelled snow for 20 minutes onto a lady's car (yes she was white) after she had cleaned it off then went back in to get ready for work. She was in tears when she got back to her car and the whole thing was fucking buried. That blast their fucking music twing stuff so loud. They don't speak English at stores or fast food places. The only time they speak English is taking the order..... 6 fucking times.... And still getting it wrong. They're hoarding the food bank here, social assistance now have to have 3 languages on their paperwork. English, french, and whatever Indians have. They hoard the job fairs, they butt in line everywhere and don't give a fuck. They're so stuck up, thinking they're better than everyone here. They cheat in school, get caught and fail the course 2 times, then protest their failing marks. The ones who own property here shouldn't even be allowed. They will only take a specific gender or specific background. Fuck you if you're white, Chinese, black, native and everything else. They've been buying up property, kicking Nova Scotians out of the homes they had lived in for years, and then bring their family here. I guarantee there isn't 1 Indian in the homeless tent encampments in NS. I am so overwhelmed that I can hardly leave my apartment anymore. Even to get my damn mail. There should be a rule. If you are an immigrant and you are healthy between the ages of 18 to 35, they have to join the military for at least 2 years. They would respect our country after that I'm sure

2024.05.19 00:34 Dharshuyahsaga Cover Letter Guidance - Visitor visa

I am applying for the UK visitor visa for the first time and I am doing it myself. I am unsure of what the cover letter should or should not contain. I would greatly appreciate if you can read the draft I have attached below and guide me on any alterations or addition that needs to be made for a compelling application.
Dear Visa Officer,
I am writing to apply for the standard visitor visa to the United Kingdom. As a full-time employee in Canada, I hold a valid work permit until June 2026, along with a temporary resident visa valid until June 2028, copies of which are attached for your reference.
As a passionate traveler, I endeavour to explore different destinations and this time, I have planned a 4-day stopover at the UK from August 24th to August 28th, 2024 to explore the London city before heading to my home country, India for a 4-week vacation, utilizing my accumulated vacation time at work.

2024.05.19 00:33 Bena-Okk How do I know if meds are working and when it’s not ?

Hey ! Kinda new to this whole thing. Just started medication and have only been on it for a week. But I kinda expected it work differently than the first non-stimulant that I tried and was wondering when is it the time to raise a concern or if there things I should be looking out for.
For reference I’m 30 mg of Vyvanse. I first was on 50 mg of Strattera, which ended up giving me extreme migraines and I stopped it within the first month. We thought a nonstimulant would be better because of my anxiety but guess not.
These are my main problems:
I have a daydreaming problem that is very distracting. I can’t complete most tasks because it’s like a second voice is experiencing something completely different in my head. I somehow start daydreaming , start talking to myself and next thing you know an hour has gone by.
I have a hard time taking showers or preparing food, buying food or anything because it’s so….boring? Like so understimulating and stressful at the same time
Obviously I cannot begin any task. I once had to send an email, and the recipient email wasn’t given to me, so I had to go on their website to get it. And the thought of doing that was so crippling that I missed out on the job and opportunity of a lifetime.
All this to say that nothing has really changed? I’m in college and currently taking summer classes. This week I’ve only showered once. I forgot to eat yesterday again and the day before, I virtually starved myself because the process of getting food was too many steps. I have not completed any of my assignments. I’ve had multiple panic attacks because of how bad I want to start but just can’t. I did start something but only maybe worked on it for 30 minutes before I started talking to myself about my next hairstyle (haha) and I really just had a week like any other week.
Unmotivated, Unhealthy, Unproductive and Unsuccessful.
I have no urge to take the medication again but I really would like advice

2024.05.19 00:31 MajorMore9379 Tax Situation for Student Visa (UK citizen working part-time for UK company remotely)

Hello,
I’m a British citizen studying Japanese at a university in London. In August/September, I will be starting my roughly 1 year of study in Japan as a mandatory requirement for my course.
Throughout university, I have worked remotely as a part-time employee for a company for 15 hours per week. The company is based in the UK also and I am paid in GBP. Although my employers have no problem with me continuing this job in Japan, I’m struggling to find a fixed answer to what is required to enable this in Japan. Whilst this Reddit has lots of great information, I still have a few questions and was hoping to get them answered so I can proceed with absolute confidence.
I appreciate this is a big ask but if anyone has direct experience with this process, would it be possible to share how this played out, what you had to file and any other information you think might be pertinent - it would be greatly appreciated.
My main concern here is following proper procedures in a timely manner. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

2024.05.19 00:28 BreathOfWind1500 Where's my SIM card?

I signed up for Visible on the 14th of this month, ported my number and everything.
The next day, I got an email stating that my order had shipped and to check my account for a tracking number.
So I check the app, and under 'order status' it still says 'Ordered, May 14, 2024', despite the email saying it shipped...
Today is the 18th, and I decided to start a chat with in-app support. They sent me an email to verify my account/ identity which ended up ending the chat, somehow.
Then I remembered that you can use USPS tracking, so I copied that number and put it in the track your number thing only for it tell me that my tracking number isn't a USPS tracking number.
I am so frustrated because I switched from AT&T since I couldn't get anywhere with them trying to help me fix why I couldn't receive phone calls. My ATT service is still active, but people calling in doesn't work. So now I don't have a working phone phone, and no idea when I'll be able to have a working phone.
I just want to know where my SIM card is
EDIT: My sister went to get the mail and guess what was inside? I swear to God my life is some twisted comedy movie

Has anyone else seen messages like this on fb?
I can usually spot a scam but this one is a little hard to tell expect that it does seem to easy. Too good to be true. I went ahead and emailed him my resume before thinking about it too much. Hope it’s not him wanting my email and number oh no. The email is not linked to my fb account at least.
