Corgi pembroke weight for flight

2024.06.02 02:26 emil7370 Corgi pembroke weight for flight

We are going on a flight in 3 months and we have a 6 months old pembroke corgi. She is allowed to weigh 10kg including carrier for in cabin flight. But we are unsure if she will outgrow that. She is currently weighing 8.5 kilos and has gained quite some weight in the last month. Up until now she was on the smaller side, but I'm not sure if she will be too heavy.
When did your puppies stop growing? and do you have any insight on this? I know it would be bad if we were denied boarding

May 2024 Hilaria Baldwin’s IG Recap = 5 Posts or “The Baby Also Has Sewer Slippers?!?”
~Hillary & Alec’s IG Stats~
  • January 2024 = Hillary 17 posts & Alec 28 posts
  • February 2024 = Hillary 8 posts & Alec 20 posts
  • March 2024 = Hillary 2 posts & Alec 21 posts
  • April 2024 = Hillary 4 posts & Alec 15 posts
  • May 2024 = Hillary 5 posts & Alec 28 posts
Hillary’s IG Stats Overview
  • May 2022 = 433 posts including the Chantecaille Episode = Hilz received lotions from luxury brand Chantecaille and posted a pic of Edu in a diaper with said lotions. The company didn’t repost, nor did they partner with her. Two days later, she donned her sewer slippers and accosted unsuspecting “needy” people, handing them gifts bags filled with Chantecaille lotions and $50 bills (and recorded herself doing so).
  • May 2023 = 18 posts including the infamous “humpy yoga” fiasco featuring unnerving eye contact.
Every choice in this video was wilder than the last.
  • May 2024 = 5 posts
~Recap~
  • May started with Alec appearing on the “Our Way with Paul Anka and Skip Bronson” podcast. I tried recapping it, but it was basically three boring privileged old white men rambling about their wealth and privilege. Anka’s description of living in a “Murdoch built” gated community near Malibu near the “good airport” – to avoid the unwashed masses at LAX one presumes – was where I gave up on the recap idea and just listened with a scowl.
  • Some lowlights:
On Having More Kids & Moving to Vermont
Alec: Well, in my family now, I'm the only person I know who drops four kids off at school in the morning and comes home and I still have three kids waiting for me. When I get home, I have seven - I have eight children. Ireland, my oldest daughter who's married, Ireland has a baby, and she and her boyfriend are living in Oregon. And I met my wife and I got remarried and I had seven kids in nine years. It's crazy. (I think you meant to say, “my wife is batshit crazy.” The devil is in the details, Zander)
And then, all of a sudden, I met my wife, who I love dearly, (I think he repeats this in virtually every interview to counter the years of talking shit about Kim Basinger) every time the baby would get to be two years old, we’d go, maybe it's time for one more baby, one more baby, so we have seven kids. But we're actually selling our house, moving to Vermont. We bought a place in Vermont, and I'm trying to get everybody to start to acclimate up there…I think my wife wants a little change of scenery now, it's so crowded out here…I love Vermont. It's so peaceful. We got a great deal. We got fifty-five acres; house was built in 1792. It's very pretty.
The Kids Want Alec Around All the Time
Host: What do you do away from your family? Meaning, do you play golf? Do you play tennis?
Alec: I play tennis all summer...The thing that's happened in these last ten years, especially the last three or four years, is my kids are used to me being around…I mean they really rely on that… when I'm gone, they're like, you know, they're on FaceTime. If I travel to go away for a couple of days to get a paycheck, they’re on my FaceTime going you know, where are you? What are you doing? You know, they're completely baffled when I go away. (God bless those kiddos and I’m preeetttttty sure they rely on Leonela/Leonetta a whole lot.)
Drug & Alcohol Use
Alec: Every day for two years, I think I snorted a line of cocaine from here to Saturn. We did one on the rings of Saturn. Then we came home. We took it back home. I mean, cocaine was like coffee back and everybody was doing it all day. I did a lot of coke and then I and then February 23rd, 1985…I stopped doing drugs and my drinking increased, which is they tell you that's going to happen, and that did happen. I just started drinking. I mean, and the thing, I miss drinking. I don't miss drugs at all, but I do miss drinking. I like to drink. (I appreciate next to nothing about this man, but I appreciate the honesty of this statement).
Host: But because you don't drink, and because you don't do drugs, what do you do? Do you meditate? What do you do to deal with the pressures of the outside, you know, forces, (I think you mean “lawsuits”, Paul) what do you do to get away from that?
Alec: (deadpan) Drink. I drink. I lied; I've been drinking nonstop since 1985. I lie. I tell people I'm sober and I drink my balls off. (Laughs) But no, I do miss drinking, I must say…New York relaxes me. I walk around and I see aspects of it that I've never seen before. I look at a building and I'll go, my god, I never noticed that about that building. Those doors. You know. New York is like a European city. You walk around and keep your eyes open. And I have lunches and coffee with my friends. (Um is he talking about the owner of Madman Espresso? Because that’s the only coffee related person we’ve ever seen him around.) And, I'd like to get out of here because the city is chaotic. (But also relaxing? What the hell?) But we live in the village. It's a little bit more residential. I love New York. I go to the symphony and the opera and the ballet all the time, you know, pretty regularly. But I do try to meditate. Meditating with seven children is like trying to play ping pong on the deck of an aircraft carrier. It's a real pain in the ass. (But they rely on you, Alec?!?!)
  • Back on IG, Alec commented on a video that Ireland posted of Kim Basinger and Ireland’s partner, André, playing with baby Holland, apparently in the backyard of Kim’s home. The doting abuelo’s comment was “I know that pool deck!” – dude, say something, ANYTHING, about your daughter’s child.
He probably screamed at poor Kim on that pool deck.
An irate comment on Alec's IG: \"I cannot believe he is wearing street shoes on those floors!\" Now deleted.
  • People magazine published a puff piece entitled “Alec Baldwin Is 'Understandably Worried' as His Rust Involuntary Manslaughter Trial Looms” (Exclusive Source). Here’s what the exclusive source Yoel had to say:
    • "Alec is stressed. He is understandably worried."
    • "He has an excellent legal team. I don't think anyone is thinking jail time but given the decision for Ms. Gutierrez-Reed it’s hard to know."
    • "You have to understand that at the end of the day Alec is a professional actor, so when he's on set, you wind him up, you say action, he pulls out the gun and does whatever he's supposed to do on his job. Then suddenly he's facing criminal charges. It's like, how did that even happen?"
  • In real news, the manslaughter charging document was released – interesting read!
  • Surprisingly, Alec did not post a tribute to his wife to honor her “mi cultura upbringing” on the first Sunday in May - when it's celebrated in Spain.
  • On May 6th, Alec’s lawyers vultures-for-hire filed additional motions to have the case dismissed while Said the Pap for hire posted a pic of himself with Crackhead Barney (who was wearing not much besides some Daisy Dukes a la Hillary Lynn) and Alec was spotted in the wild (with a nanny in tow, because only the peasants walk around without staff).
Imagine having to listen to this guy bloviate in addition to raising his kids.
A pepino prayer: Lord, keep the nannies safe and sane. Amen.
  • Over on his scintillating IG account, Alec posted the news that he will be co-directing a production of Macbeth with Geoffrey Horne for Shakespeare Downtown this summer. Good thing this will be in June, because there might be a bit of a scheduling conflict for Alec in July.
  • Alec posted two pictures of Edu: one totally scrunched in a too-small stroller and one making the patented Baldwin duck lips. Against all logic, the pic of the kid perched on a tiny stroller became the picture Alec chose as his new profile pic.
  • On Mother’s Day, Alec dug deep, looked back on his grid, landed on this picture he first posted in December 2023 and said, “this is the one!” It features Alec, his wife, one of their 7 kids, two very hungry caterpillars, and stars the ubiquitous Madman Espresso single use coffee cup. ¡Feliz día de la madre, Híláríá!
Low effort personified.
Obsessed with the one and only comment this video garnered: “what’s the stethoscope for?”
Oh Daniel, where to begin?
\"To be honest\" is not a phrase typically associated with Grifty McGrifter.
  • The day a judge heard the motion to throw out Alec’s indictment was also Romeo's birthday so Hillary posted a story (#2 of 5 posts) of her, Alec, and the birthday boy as well as a grid video collage set to John Lennon’s “Beautiful Boy” (#3 of 5 posts) – a solid choice, nothing bad to say here. Alec, on the other hand, did not make a happy birthday post but found time to repost a “Crush the Can” fundraising campaign video from the Baldwin Fund. These videos are not good, if only they had connections to folks the filmmaking industry…
Bye, Wig!
  • A public service announcement for the Reddit Cares brigade: not posting about a kid’s birthday on IG or not liking a family member’s IG post is not usually an issue. I am well aware that countless people live offline and exchange private messages; however, we are gathered here today and most days to talk about Alec and “Hilaria” Baldwin. They use social media, and IG in particular to cultivate a brand/façade/public persona. Given that, liking/not liking or posting/not posting is of note. This concludes our announcement.
  • Listen, at this point in the game, I am HERE for Said the Pap. I am just going to lean into the theory that he’s an agent of chaos and a savvy social critic because this picture is a true gift to this sub. Live long and prosper, amigo.
Tiny. Baby. Sewer. Slippers. And is she holding a phone?? Call for help, sweet pea.
  • On the day of Holland's first birthday, StepAbuela Hilly posted a “candid” shot of her and her three oldest boys, skipping through NYC in a light rain (post #4 of 5). When I tell you I cranked up the Gypsy Kings, poured a sangria, and flamenco flurried my way over to the comments – and was delighted:
    • u/FamousOhioAppleHorn: When I see a woman dressed like that in FL, I know she's gonna buy 5 Hour Energy, cigs and scratch off tickets while telling everyone her entire life story.
    • u/NightOwlsUnite: Subway...in fucking slippers. She's a walking germ factory. If and when the next pandemic hits, thank her.
    • u/smallpepino: Typhoid Larry.
    • u/Sun_will_rise_again: Those slippers are going to walk themselves to the trash…. They’re DONE, they’ve been through enough 🚮 Also this looks like something Britney Spears would write…. Just a jumble of random shit.
    • u/ ca17miledrive: There she is again. The Dope of Greenwich Village.
    • u/MallorcanMalarkey: The rain in Spain falls mainly on the insane.
So many pockets, so little common sense.
  • Since Hilly is being so shy about showing her face. It’s a good thing the trusty folks at the Daily Mail have no such qualms. Alec and Guest Baldwin attended the 25th anniversary of a pretentious restaurant that gleefully reposted a picture of the duo calling them “amazing stars.” Restaurant Sirs, you have been bamboozled.
Maybe she should have kept the sweatshirt from the other day on her head?
MichWho was also there - if only Hillary's mallet could tap some life into the frozen tundra of Mich's mask/face.
  • Also, is this iteration of Hillary’s face giving Danielle Staub and/or Countess LuAnn vibes, or no?
Does one just ask for the squinty and taut special to get this face?
\"PeePaw\" just about took me out.
  • The next day a New Mexico judicial district judge denied the motion to dismiss the involuntary manslaughter case. This means that Alec must stand trial in July; sometimes the judicial system works in the interest of fairness. If nothing else, it is gratifying to know that he is spending through the nose to mount this legal defense.
  • With her usual ham-fisted timing, Hilz got to work and posted a grid video (#5 of 5) of Alec showing his phone to Ilaria Sin Hache (props to u/Longjumping-Stage647 for the moniker). It’s cute – who doesn’t love a baby in a onesie trying to talk and toddling around? Hilz for damn sure knows the value of her “vending machine of joy” and captioned her video: “I want dada, I want dada”….shes talking more and more. This is her first sentence 🤍. They love watching puppies together. The sweet things we are grateful for…that laughter. It calms the heart ⛅️”
23,791 of Hillary’s 989K followers liked this video.
  • Hilz responded to some comments and then a few zingers found their mark:
    • Commenter 1: Daddy’s little girl 💕💜💕💜
    • Hillary: “def…I was a little jealous…all our other 6 said mama first, but this one said dada 😂. All kidding aside…it’s such a beautiful relationship. Gives him life and strength ❤️”
    • Commenter 2: Such a sweet little one. I miss your updates. Come back ❤️
    • Hillary: I will…I promise 💚
    • Commenter 3: This is a cute sitcom. Far from reality as many things on social media. But cute and happy, and that is what we want to see. Not the maids, fights, and tantrums
    • Commenter 4: Awe so cute! Grandparents are the best!!!
  • May 26th was the two-year anniversary of Carol Baldwin’s passing and Alec posted a picture of the two of them captioned (verbatim): “two years ago today Your work continuesWe all miss you”
Alec was more effusive in his RIP post about Sam Rubin, an LA entertainment reporter who passed, than about Carol.
  • I offer you Billy Baldwin’s caption for the picture of himself and his mother the same day:
    • My Mom: Honey... HOOOOONNEEEEYY!!!
    • Me: Yeah Mom!!!
    • My Mom: Do me a favor??
    • Me: Sure Mom.
    • My Mom: Go grab me the... the... the whatchamacallit?
    • Me: The what?
    • My Mom: You know... the thingamajig that has that little doohickey on the side. It's in the kitchen junk drawer next to the whooziwhats!!!
    • This never meant the same thing twice but every time she said it... I knew exactly what she wanted. Gone two years today. Smart, funny, tough, wacky, wild... and a heart of gold. Miss you dearest Mama!!! ♥️
  • Maybe Alec couldn’t focus on a more heartfelt tribute to his mother because was distracted by his wife’s unusual move of taking an Uber – quite normal for many but for Hillary My Ancestors Arrived on the Mayflower Hayward- Thomas, it’s usually a private car double parked for maximum chaos or sewer slippers slapping against the grime of NYC sidewalks, so this middle ground must have been confusing for PeePaw.
Your body is nice, Hillary. You don't need the alien appendages on the right or the multiple bras at once on the left.
  • Alec’s defense team added 9 new witnesses on the last day they were permitted to do so (5/6/24) and did not provide witness statements. Prosecutors argued that this was done in bad faith and that “the State has now been prejudiced by the defendant's strategy to gain a tactical advantage as the State is unable to file pretrial motions as it relates to the new witnesses, is unable to properly investigate the statements of the witnesses and list its own new witnesses to refute the testimony of the belatedly disclosed witnesses.” So on 5/31, the prosecutors moved to exclude the witnesses from the trial. Stay tuned…
  • As this legal mess was going down, Alec and Hillary made their signature move: a staged pap walk in NYC wearing ill-fitting clothes, clutching phones and Madman Espresso products. How the mightily mediocre have fallen…
YES u/SteakAmazing8963: \"It’s so funny that she has nowhere to go in her new big pants. Just like her long coat that she was so proud of a little while ago. She buys this stuff and wears it for a pap walk and then that’s it. Back to the shiny leggings and slippers.\"

2024.05.30 15:19 mansplanar 95 Hinge prompt answers to inspire your profile

The art of putting together the perfect dating app profile—one that’s honest, eye-catching, and also tells the world, "Swipe right on me, I actually am this cool IRL"—can be tricky. How, you might ask, can I sum up everything I’m about with just a few short words and pictures? Thankfully, prompts exist for this very reason: to give prospective matches a sense of who you are so that you don’t have to wrack your brain for vague “bio” language that could range anywhere from your birth chart, to your favourite quote from The Office, neither of which really give people too much practical information about you. (Sorry!)
Hinge lets you display answers to three prompts, but there are tons of options to choose from (including voice prompts!), which can make deciding what to share kind of a challenge. If you’re stumped, go through them one by one and ask yourself: What’s most important for my matches to know about me? What questions can I answer to really highlight the things I love about myself? What questions give my matches the most information possible, while making them want to know more?
Once you’ve picked your prompts, it’s time to get creative and make your Hinge prompt answers really shine. That’s where we—professional writers and dating connoisseurs, if we do say so ourselves—come in. We’ve compiled a list of sample answers to some of the most common Hinge prompts. Feel free to use these as inspo for your own profile, but don’t be afraid to (in fact you should) customise them to fit your own personality.

Helping me prepare for her new little sister.
Bought a new pet carrier and crate. Rearranged the crate set up to accommodate both dogs. Brushed up on my notes from 2 years ago when I trained this one. Chai was helping inspect the new carrier and crate. She was also helping me study my notes. I think I found the best set up for my space… new 8-week old puppy comes Sunday. Any tips?? 😂

2024.05.29 19:47 sephie-a-cephalopod Flying with British Shorthair from Jordan (ME) to Canada

Me, my mother and brother are moving countries due to my mother's job and are flying from Jordan to Canada. I did some research and found that in terms of health related things, we need to show that our cat has been vaccinated against rabies and that they don't have rabies. We have a moving budget of 4000 USD (as in we're willing to put in 4000 USD to help our cat move, yes we really love him). I am confused on some things:
  1. What airlines or travel agency we should book flights with?
  2. Is recommended to buy a separate seat our cat? I really don't like the idea of checking him in with cabin luggage.
  3. What type of carrier should we use?
  4. Would a pet relocation agency or service be better? I thought it would be far more expensive than just booking an extra seat but my mom is disagreeing with me about it.
  5. Are there any other import documents other than rabies vaccinations/certifications that we need to worry about when going to Canada? I only found this as the only thing that's needed but I also found other sources saying that we need to let the customs/borders people know ahead of time so they have vet on site but I have no idea how to do that and couldn't find any forms on the embassy/government website for it. Any anecdotal advice is appreciated.
I have also read posts and advice on using puppy pads, training them ahead of time etc. but if there's anything else I'm missing and should be worried about feel free to comment on it. Any advice, even anecdotal is appreciated.

2024.05.27 19:51 KaiTheGSD Blue German Shepherds and CDA

Blue German Shepherds and CDA
Let's learn about blue in german shepherds and other breeds!
Blue is one of the 4 possible eumelanin colors. Eumelanin is the pigment that colors the dog's skin, nose, eyes, and black parts of the fur. The possible eumelanin colors are: black, liver, blue, and isabella.
GENETICS: Blue, aka dilute, is located on the D locus and is recessive. A DD or Dd dog would be black and dd would be blue. For a dog to be blue, not isabella, it can't be liver. This means that all blue dogs are BB dd or Bb dd (if they carry liver). Dilution is caused by a faulty black color that turns out lighter than black.
As an eumelanin color, blue affects a dog's skin, nose, eumelanin fur color, and eye color. Dilution affects eye color more than liver and dilute dogs are known for their light eyes.
Dilute dogs can have yellow, greenish, amber, and even "blue" eyes (although the blue eyes that these dog's get aren't true blue). Blue can also lighten phaeomelanin (the dog's red pigment that's responsible for the red-white color in a dog). Blue can also come in many shades from a very dark shade that resembles black to a lighter grey shade. A puppy's fur will be lighter than an adult dog's, but may darken as the pup gets older.
As blue is a color, it can also come in any pattern that occurs in German Shepherds. Therefore, blue German shepherds can be solid, saddleback, bi-color, seal, sable, wolf sable, recessive red, panda, piebald, brindle, etc. Some other breeds that come in blue are Weimaraners, Border Collies, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Greyhounds, Beagles, and more.
HEALTH: Some (not all) dilute lines in some breeds can have a condition called Color Dilution Alopecia (CDA for short). CDA's symptoms are hairloss, broken hairs or hair thinning, dry skin, recurring bacterial infections, and severe itching. Although, in German Shepherds, it's rare to see severe cases. In most cases, you would just see hairloss on the back of the ears and maybe on the forehead and face and nowhere else on the body.
CDA is an inherited disease that currently can't be tested for on Embark. However, it can be avoided by careful breeding. How does that look like? Researching dilute lines, checking for any relatives that may show signs of CDA and if they do, avoiding them for your breeding program. Avoiding CDA is also safer if you breed 2 dilute dogs together (blue x blue, blue x isabella, isabella x isabella). The reason for it being safer is because dilute dogs can show signs of CDA. If a dilute dog has CDA, you will see it. However, CDA carriers (black or liver dogs that carry for dilution, CDA) won't show any signs of CDA as they are not dilute themselves.
If your dilute dog shows symptoms of CDA, not breeding the dog at all would be best. You could breed out the dilution from the line and continue with non-dilute colors, but continuing a CDA bloodline is always risky as even if the CDA carriers go to pet homes, accidental matings could happen or an irresponsible puppy owner could breed the dog on purpose and continue the CDA line forward.
All of this CDA talk might seem scary, but luckily, the CDA situation in German Shepherds isn't that bad. CDA affected dogs are the minority, and those who are affected tend to have minor syptoms. And the best way to not get a dog with CDA is to find a responsible, educated dilute breeder as those who care avoid CDA as much as possible and wouldn't sneak you an ill puppy.
Apart from the lines with CDA, dilute dogs don't have any other health issues related to color.
IN GERMAN SHEPHERDS: Blue is a naturally occuring color in the German Shepherd breed. They sometimes pop up in standard color lines and it isn't because of crossbreeding.
Luckily, most dilute dogs are free of CDA. Responsible breeders who truly care about their dogs health and well-being don't breed CDA affected or carrying dogs, and avoid CDA as much as they can. So if you're looking for a blue German Shepherd, find a responsible breeder and ask them what they know about CDA, and how they avoid it. If a dilute breeder isn't aware about CDA or doesn't care about it, take it as a red flag. You can let them know about CDA, and if they care, they'll look into it and better their breeding program. But if they breed dogs with CDA, deny that CDA exists, or doesn't care about it, get away ASAP.
If you want to get a blue German Shepherd, find a good, educated breeder for your pooch so you'll end up with a healthier and happier companion. Healthy blue dogs can also work like any other dog, and their color doesn't affect their temperament or working ability, breeding does. Some working dilute dog breeds are: Weimaraners, Tibetan Mastiffs, Greyhounds, Border Collies, Slovakian Pointers, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

2024.05.27 00:09 ph0ci0n Flying with a puppy

I know this has been asked 1K times, but I want to ask it one more for my unique circumstance.
I am considering driving or flying from New York City to Seattle in mid-June. I have a mini-goldendoodle that will be 12 weeks old when I make this trip. His adult weight is going to be 20 lbs. I'm relatively certain that I can get him in the carrier without issue, and if I do decide to fly, then I will do what I can to get him used to the carrier before we get on the plane.
I would book a first class ticket. He can certainly hold his bladder for 7 hours in a crate (he does overnight). He's a little talkative when he's unhappy but as long as I can reach down and touch him, then I'm relatively certain that I can keep him quiet, but there's no way to know 100%. I can also ask his vet about drugging him.
I think he would prefer flying to five days driving. And I think that 5 days in a different city every night at this age might drive him a bit crazy (puppies like consistency and playtime).
Is it better to fly in this circumstance?
I'm a gold medallion, and I was a big "people are taking advantage of the system" person for a long time, and at one point even submitted a complaint about some guy that brought a 60+ lbs boxer on a flight in a middle seat, but in this situation it just seems like the much more pleasant option for everyone involved.
Want to get a read on whether I've just become the jerk with the dog though.

2024.05.26 03:39 Icarus131 Anyone have experience fitting 3 car seats in their CX-9?

We’re speaking with a dealer about a 2022 Grand Touring CX-9. Its got 32k miles and is pretty loaded, sunroof, 2nd row captains chairs, leather seats, memory seat, and bose speakers. I'm negotiating for $30k even OTD.
The concern, and reason for the change, is that we’re expecting twins within the next couple of weeks and will be rapidly growing to a family of 5 with a rather large puppy that enjoys road trips. Presuming they agree to the price and trade proposal this is the car I want. However my wife is concerned about space with two carriers and a full car seat needing to fit in and provide some leg room for the littles.
Any feedback/advice (on the car or life with twins) is most appreciated!

2024.05.25 17:57 Objective_Rope7586 Daughter (9F) was bit by her best friend’s dog

UPDATE: pup is vaccinated. Delayed response because mom was offended I don’t “trust her parenting”. Also, I was not looking to pursue any legal action beyond what was needed to obtain records and protect my kid.
4 days ago my daughter (9F) was over her friends house and they were playing with her 1 yo French bulldog puppy. Apparently they were trying to put the dog in some sort of carrier. Long story short, the dog was either scared or mad and bit my daughter in the face.
I immediately get in the car and go to pick my daughter up. Her best friend’s mom, Sandra, was waiting with her. According to her “the dog has all her shots”. Fine, great. I understand it was an accident and they’re kids so not really anyone’s fault.
Upon examination the bite is not deep but unfortunately her skin is broken in 2 places. A visit to urgent care later, stitches were not required, but it was reported to our county’s board of health.
At that time I had not provided any specifics on dog or owner as Sandra is a very private hush hush, sweep everything under the rug type person. In fact, she rooks her daughter to instruct mine to “not tell anyone” (about the bite). So I knew reporting the bite would without doubt lead to issues and the distinct possibility of my daughter losing her best friend.
Unfortunately I do not Sandra well enough to take her word for it that ”the dog has all her shots”. I know she sends the dog out with her kid to walk her and the dog is not always leashed so who knows what the dog is exposed to.
Anyway, yesterday I decided to take the least agressive route while still prioritizing my daughter’s health. I sent a very civilized text, simply requesting the dog’s up to date rabies vaccination record. Just for my peace of mind. FYI, the fatality rate for untreated rabies infection in humans is almost 100%. I did not feel like I was overreacting and if what Sandra told me was true, a quick call to the vet should have been all she needed to do. I let her know the health department wanted information, but all I wanted was to see a copy of vaccination records.
No response. Not even a “let me get them and I’ll send them to you”. According to my daughter’s friend, after the text I sent Sandra was apparently taking the dog to the vet. I don’t know for what. It also seems like she may be talking shit and having other parents blacklist my daughter and me.
I know the chances of contracting rabies is low. I just wanted to know the chance was 0%. Even though I remained civil, I feel like she is not. Do I send a follow up text? Do I report dog’s info to the health department? Or do I just sweep it under the rug?

2024.05.24 14:13 GrowingSideways9235 Dandruff?

Hi there,
I know the breed is prone to skin issues so I am wondering if anyone has experience with their puppy or adult dog having what looks to be dandruff inside both ears (not the ear canal just the floppy parts - he has natural ears not docked)? He’s 10 weeks old and I’ve only bathed him once since having him but didn’t wash his face/ear (wanted to ease him into bath time) so I’m wondering if that could contribute.
It’s not inflamed/red, smelly or anything that screams infection to me. He isn’t itching and doesn’t seem to care if I touch his ears so I don’t believe it’s painful. It is just in his ears and looks much like human dandruff.
He is still not fully vaccinated so he isn’t going around other dogs/outside unless it’s in a carrier but he has taken one dose of flea/tick preventive per my vet.
I have a vet appointment at the beginning of June so will definitely bring this up but in the interim wondering if anyone has similar experience or advice? I’ve never had a dog with longer ears before so I anticipate ear maintenance will be a little different - all my prior pups were cairns. Thanks!

2024.05.23 01:33 Helpful_Ad_6054 How to crate train my puppy

I have a 9 week old golden retriever / cocker spaniel mix puppy—I’ve had him for 1 week. We have been trying to crate train him and it’s not going well and I am seeking some help!
Details on what we are doing:
-We have a metal/wired crate that we have draped over 3/4 of it. We try feeding the puppy most of his food (in kongs & enrichment toys) in the crate with the door open to create a positive association. -when he’s eating in the crate we will sometimes shut the door for 5-10 mins until he signals he’s done. He ‘signals’ by sitting and looking at us. We do not let it get to a point where he barks, we keep a close eye to let him out immediately as we do not want to reward him by letting him out when crying. -When we have shut the crate door and let him cry, he SCREAMS. Whimpers, cries, screams, barks, etc. He starts hyperventilating, body slamming the metal crate bars, biting them like crazy, etc. It seems excessive compared to the crate training I’ve read about. We usually give him a filled kong, bully stick and toy during these attempts. After 15-20 mins we usually let him out because I am worried about the hyperventilating. - we have a 3’ tall “play pen” area as well, with the same story—he cries when we try to leave him in here, and before he can finish soothing himself he can scale the whole pen and climb out! We don’t have a safe place to leave him (even just while we’re home, but need to put him somewhere safe as to not allow him to roam our entire home). -We have been having him sleep in his airplane carrier that we used when we picked him up, sitting on the floor next to our bed. He usually cries ~2-3 times per night, but we are only taking him out 1 of those times to go potty. No accidents in the carrier yet. -We’ve read lots of books and none of the advice seems to work. -He’s overall a happy boy, but is very sad when he’s not directly near us and has all the “puppy” tendencies. -we feed all food through training or enrichment toys and play puppy exercise games to get his energy out—so we do our best to tire him out mentally and physically

2024.05.21 16:16 pamela_workman Traveling with my new bunny

Traveling with my new bunny
I plan on taking about a 3 hour road trip in a week or so. I just got my new friend, Hazel! I was wondering what would be the safest and most comfortable way (for her) to make the trip. Should I just hold her? (I won't be the one driving) Should I get a regular carrier? Or should I consider one of these (pictured) "car seats"? (With a car seat, she would have to sit in the back) I just want her to be a less restricted as possible but also secure. Any advice is appreciated!!

2024.05.21 14:11 ImPotatoLover Train ride and litter box?

Hi! I'm going to take a 6h train ride with my cat in a couple of weeks. She is super calm in her carrier on trains, but I have a problem - the potty situation. I've only taken shorter train rides with her before (a couple of hours long) so it has never been neccessary to bring a litter box with me. Do any of you have any ideas on what to do? I've been thinking about putting a small box with litter in her carrier, or buying those pads for puppies that absorbs pee. What are your suggestions, ideas, thoughts?

2024.05.21 02:26 Initial-salsachicken You bought a sick dog

Kylea you probably know this already as you scurried to find any dog you could that resembled what you told your followers you were getting as a dog but it didn’t work out. Hence, You bought a sick animal, please take it to the vet. A puppy does not act as lethargic and out of it as your animal. Also the dogs eyes look off and it’s gate is off, and it’s hind legs look week, indicating a neurological issue often caused by inbreeding (which if you haven’t properly educated yourself, happens a lot). While you have made poor decisions up until now, you can make educated and kind decisions from here on out. No puppy should be carried around in a carrier like Gypsy rose in a wheel chair. You are one sick bitch. And as this dog goes in the way of Alice, animal abuse is a reportable crime. And just fyi, you could smoother that dog with your big droopy titties if you co-sleep.

2024.05.19 23:20 goldpeake Corgi owner origin stories!

Corgi owner origin stories!
I want to hear everyone’s unconventional stories about how their corgi(s) joined their family!! And share ours :)
My husbands dream dog has always been a corgi, however we definitely did not have breeder money and had resigned ourselves to a “maybe one day”. Well one day! I saw a post on a local pet adoption FB page for a sweet nine month old corgi girl needing a new home. I showed my husband and we both fell in love with her. One week and a $200 rehoming fee we brought her home. A month later we realized she was looking rather round, so I took her to the vet to find out she was due to have a litter in the next 7-10 days. I had an absolute conniption and we both panicked. I’ve never owned an intact animal let alone had a litter in my home and was freaked at the idea. I reached out to the previous owners and found out they themselves had only had her a week and he pointed me to the woman they had gotten her from who coincidentally was the same person I had gotten my darling cat from two years before. This lady is wonderful and does a lot of work as an animal foster and frequently takes in kittens, puppies, I even brought her a duckling once. She told me our dog was one of 7 that had been given to her by a “breeder” to rehome after their retirement, that this was her third litter and that she was actually three years old. She said that she didn’t know our dog was in heat or she would’ve separated her” I genuinely couldn’t believe it, because yknow. Common sense. But I digress. She said our dog had milk production issues and her previous two litters hadn’t made it. My heart broke. I could understand why she had not been fixed and retired let alone been bred a second time. That paired with Teeter (our dog) being three years old and not house broken, I suspect this was less a genuine reputable breeder and more a puppy mill situation.
Bracing ourselves, we switched her to puppy food, stocked up on good wet foods, supplements and toppers and ordered everything else we might have needed. That Saturday after returning home late in the evening from a holiday party, I delivered a litter of puppies! We signed up for one corgi and ended up with 7!!! Every single puppy thrived. We never even had to supplement with puppy formula. For 10 weeks we had a house full of six happy healthy rambunctious puppies. 5 boys and one singular girl. The sassiest little thing I’d ever seen btw. We also made the decision not to dock any of their tails. I totally threw myself into trying to do everything right. Crate training, leash training, dewormer, starter shots, even getting them accustomed to things like having their nails trimmed. When it was time I spent days and days talking to maybe 50 different people who were interested and found them all wonderful homes in our local community. They each went with cans of wet food and the kibble they were on, a collar, a leash, a basket of toys, dewormer, a dose of flea/tick meds and in a travel carrier with a baby blanket that smelled like home, for the same rehoming fee we got their sweet mama for. All but one!! The first photo is our sweet Buck! The second is our pack of goobers, and the third is Teeter :) We don’t have a lot of money. We have two small children, a toddler and an infant. But I was absolutely determined to do the very best I could. It was a wild ride and completely improbable, also arguably the grossest experience ever, but what fun it was. We’re happy corgi people now, maybe for life :) That was Teeters last litter ever. She has a spay appointment next week, and is the most loved and spoiled dog there ever was.

⚠️ Disordered Eating- Daily WW Points Used (Data compiled from monetized content):
2 WW Points: Plate of scrambled eggs + plate of fresh fruit + Peanut Butter Chocolate Muscle Milk in coffee.
8 WW Points: Double Shot Espresso over ice with almond milk, sugar-free vanilla, 1/2 of Peanut Butter Chocolate Muscle Milk shake, with cinnamon on top. Turkey, bacon, cheddar & egg white sandwich.
📢 For our friends at Meta, that means Kylea consumed 10 out of (up to) 30 daily WW points in maintenance mode= Disordered Eating. This is dangerous and potentially deadly messaging for those on a weight loss journey.

Comments: In my opinion, Kylea falsified the timeline of her arrival home. She frequently lies and has a history of mental breakdowns during travel. Let's see if you agree...
  1. Unknown Breakfast Location: Kylea does not even vaguely mention her sister's presence and shows a closely cropped picture of food and a beverage.
  2. "Joe" posted this, "My wife has been waiting to be a dog mom for a long time. I'm so excited for to be welcoming one into our home soon. 🐶 🏠"
*I kept the wording of the quote exactly as it appeared. "Joe" shared an old photo of Kylea holding RayRay's face (her mommma's Frenchie) and kissing him above his left eye.
⏸️ Remember, Kylea was traumatized from a dog biting her face as a child and told her followers she wanted a puppy from a breeder because of this event. This was an odd picture to share.
  1. Unknown Starbucks Location for Lunch: A tightly cropped image of an empty Starbucks paper bag, Iced Beverage, and Muscle Milk is shared. There is no mention of her sister, leading Reddit users to believe Kylea was in an airport, possibly alone. How is she consuming all these dairy products without issues this trip?
  2. God is Good: Kylea's sunburn disappeared from yesterday in this tightly cropped photo of her near a flowering plant. Her location is not disclosed. "I've just been walking around and appreciating all of the beauty of the world around me today. God is so good!!"
⏸️ This suspicious photo led Reddit users to believe Kylea was either already home, almost home, and/or there was a serious disagreement with her sister (they have a history of this happening). Why buy a Go City Pass and barely use it? Why go to CA to whale watch and not complete the task? Why so secretive this trip? Was she alone the majority of the time? The entire vibe has been off.
  1. "I think Oliver is missing his Mom 🐈‍⬛️ 🐾" An old 📸 of Kylea sitting on the floor, squeezing Oliver to her chest (he looks like he's trying to get away), is shared. This is the 1st mention of Oliver this trip. She normally posts more often about missing him while traveling...
  2. "Joe sent me a picture of the fur babies and they both look like they're ready for me to be home 💖" An (allegedly) old 📸 of Oliver and Alice on the back of the couch is shared.
Concern has been growing for weeks about the welfare of Alice. 🐈‍⬛️ I hope she is okay.
  1. Driving 6 Hours Home: "The last few days of adventure in California was fun but I'm so ready to get home to my hubs!! I had a long day of travel today. ✈️ Now for the 6 hour drive back home! 🚗 Ready to cuddle my cats 🐈‍⬛️ and introduce you to our new family member later this weekend! 🐶 🐾"
⏸️ Notice, Kylea never says "we" today. This fuels the speculation of a separate return trip home from her sister. I would hardly call scrambled eggs, fruit, salsa chicken salad, and coffee an adventure. Her photos (if they were even hers) showed empty tourist destinations. I learned nothing of note from her "California adventure." What an odd trip.
  1. "Joe" posted McDonalds: "I worked late last night and my wife still made sure that I got one of my favorite dinners. I love McDonald's cheeseburgers! 🍔 🍟"
I have shared resources this week on domestic violence. Not only is McDonalds triggering content for those on a weight loss journey, why is Joe Gomez unable to buy his own food? These photos (Joe holding the takeout bag) remind me of a young child posing with objects for praise.
📢 To our friends at Meta, "Joe" posting (under Kylea's account with her name) 25% of her content today is ridiculous. The page name is not "Kylea and Joe's Journey." This is not a lifestyle page. Kylea blatantly violates many monetization policies with her content. Please follow your policies and take action.
Final Questions: Do you believe Kylea traveled alone or with her sister? Do you think they were together the entire time? When do you think she arrived home? What did you learn about San Diego? How did she do as a travel blogger? 🤔
Takeout: Unknown breakfast restaurant for KG= $18 est + tip; *Possible breakfast for sister= $18 est + tip; Starbucks for KG (unknown location)= $15 est + tip, *Possible lunch for sister= $15 est + tip, Muscle Milk for KG= $3.50 est;
Shopping/Travel Expenses: Airport Parking (up to 50% off with prebook)= $16 est; Return Flight for KG on Unknown Carrier at unknown time (I do not believe she ever had a $45 round trip flight)= $82 + fees; *Possible Flight for Sister (same issue as above)= $82 est + fees; Mileage Dallas, TX to Joplin, MO= (350 est mi/33mpg) x $3.85 est= $40.83 est;

2024.05.18 17:50 Legitimate-Sell-4086 Finally dog free.

Thank god I found this sub to express my feelings without judgement from dog lovers.
I got a puppy in 2022 at 3 months old (bad decision, now I know). He constantly needed attention, whined when I wasn’t home, potty training was a nightmare that I had to take him out at 2am, in the rain and snow, and pooped inside my apartment.
I didn’t want to give him up because I was afraid to be judged as a failure and unloving. But hell, I was miserable. I couldn’t take trips without finding pet care, the money he costed me in vets and supplies, the mental stress!!! Moving with him was a nightmare. I had to fly across the country for the move last year and he cried the WHOLE Fucking time in his carrier. Everyone waiting for the plane looked at me and it was so embarrassing.
Last month, I was like, that’s it. I’m done. I need my freedom, my clean house, and money. I don’t want to waste my time on this thing doesn’t bring me any joy.
I rehomed him and got rid of his stuff. I got my peace back. I no longer need to come home at a certain time. I can take trips at any point. No more nasty hair. No more stains and smells.
If you are hesitating about rehoming, please do it for your mental health sake.
