2024.06.02 07:50 Dependent-Oil-7760 How to elevate my stats?

So far, I’ve figured out that during the application process, it's important to be yourself, but statistics also matter. I am wondering how to improve my stats. One tip someone gave me is to excel in one main activity while having a few others on the side. I am a dancer and quite good, but the competition here is enormous, so I don’t have many first-place wins to showcase. However, I do a lot of volunteering and am planning to start a job soon. Both are common and don’t make me stand out. Do you have any tips on how to make them more unique?

2024.06.02 07:49 MetalMando86 Orientation tomorrow...

As the title says, I have my orientation tomorrow. I've gone through a lot of posts and it kinda worries me that the job isn't gonna be good. But the pay and bennies are very attractive right now. Does anyone have any tips or good suggestions to make the job better for me? Also, if you get your licenses, are those only good for Home Depot? Or are they able to be applied to other businesses? Wasn't sure if they're just in store certs or something like that. Thanks for your time guys!

I live in Canada specifically, but I am planning to find a job after I graduate, maybe in September to ride of the fact that some jobs may be more open to hiring someone. Do you guys have any recommendations for any potential jobs good for someone freshly graduating? I was thinking of going either into Retail or a Pet Store if possible, but I am curious.

The Odin Works Tunable Low-Profile Gas Block is a standout accessory that takes the hassle out of tuning your rifle. Compatible with 0.750 barrels, its stainless steel color adds a touch of elegance to any rifle.
During my time using this gas block, I found the process of fine-tuning my rifle incredibly smooth and intuitive. The ease of use allowed me to easily achieve the desired level of pressure from the gas tube, resulting in a significantly smoother cycling and improved accuracy.
One small drawback I noted was that the gas block seemed to be slightly larger than expected, making it difficult to install in my handguard. However, this minor inconvenience was overshadowed by the ease of use and the significant performance improvements I experienced after tuning my rifle.
Overall, the Odin Works Tunable Low-Profile Gas Block is a reliable and effective accessory designed to enhance the performance of your rifle. Its user-friendly features and sleek design make it a standout choice for even the most discerning rifle enthusiasts.

🔗Ballistic Low Profile .936" Gas Block for AR15, Black Melonite Finish

https://preview.redd.it/obuw7f7dj34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6b18b96d378f1d9d557a3086040c87b184a417d

I've been using the Ballistic Lo-Pro Gas Block for quite some time now, and I must say, it's been quite the experience. As an avid shooter, I've always been on the lookout for gas blocks that can handle the 243 Ar barrel and this one sure fits the bill.
The first thing that stood out to me was its low profile design, which makes it a great fit for most AR15s. I've often found myself in situations where a high-profile gas block gets in the way, but with Ballistic, that's never an issue.
But what I loved the most about this gas block is its durable Melonite finish. It's not just for looks, either. This finish has been helping me maintain the gas block's performance even after weeks of harsh use.
However, there's one thing that didn't quite meet my expectations. I've noticed that sometimes, the screws may need to be tightened further to prevent any wobbling. It's nothing a little extra patience can't fix, but it's a minor inconvenience nonetheless.
All in all, the Ballistic Lo-Pro Gas Block has been a solid addition to my AR15. Its low profile design and durable finish make it a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality gas block.

As a beverage enthusiast, I was recently in search of a reliable CO2 cylinder for my home bar setup. That's when I came across this recertified 15 lb steel CO2 cylinder. The sturdy, used steel construction caught my eye, and its competitive pricing was certainly a bonus.
During my first use, it was clear that the cylinder had been tested and refinished to ensure a long life and performance. The grey, rust-resistant paint finish added not only an aesthetic appeal but also peace of mind in terms of its durability. Of course, there was a CO2 CGA320 valve installed, which made connectivity and usage an easy, hassle-free task.
However, my experience with this cylinder wasn't without its drawbacks. I noticed slight variations in dimensions when compared to other cylinders. It was also disappointing to find out that the hydro test hadn't been done within the recommended time frame. Nonetheless, the cylinder still seemed to work effectively.
Overall, this recertified 15 lb steel CO2 cylinder exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and design. While it did have certain drawbacks, it served as a reliable and affordable source of CO2 that I could count on for my beverages, hydroponics, and even aquariums.

In my experience, the Hobart Argon/CO2 Shielding Gas Cylinder was a small yet mighty option for my MIG welding needs. The 20 cu.
ft. cylinder was easy to handle and transport, making it perfect for my portable rig.
The gas itself performed well, providing excellent shielding and clean weld appearance. However, one downside I encountered was the difficulty in finding a place to refill the cylinder.
It seemed that not all welding supply stores offered refills, which was a bit inconvenient for me. Nevertheless, the Argon/CO2 Shielding Gas Cylinder served as a reliable backup for my main tank, and the small size made it a great choice for quick projects or when on the go.

One of the standout features of this forend is its compatibility with low-profile gas blocks and the ease of installation. Although it comes with a rather unimpressive packaging, I was happy to find the handguard undamaged and ready to use. It fits perfectly with Magpul QD and fits like a glove thanks to its MLOK compatibility.
However, one downside I experienced was the weight of the product. At 5.6oz, it might feel a bit heavier than some other options in the market. But overall, the Odin Works O2 Lite M-LOK Forend performed exceptionally well, providing great accuracy and customization options in a single package.

Buyer's Guide

An A2 Gas Block is an essential accessory for anyone using an A2 rifle. It acts as a crucial connection between the gas system and the rifle, ensuring optimal performance in shooting. This compatibility issue is essential to ensure flawless integration and smooth functionality upon installation.

Third-Party Accessories

2024.06.02 07:40 Negus_Salomon Help me to create the best application possible

Hello everyone,
I've been a musician for about twenty years and a developer for almost 5 years. For almost a year now, I've been trying to find a project that I really want to work on. After much thought, I think I've finally found it: an app for guitar, bass, and ukulele. It would be a note-taking app by blocks in the spirit of Notion and Microsoft Loop, which, in addition to the usual basic blocks (text, link, image, pdf, etc...), would have specific blocks such as fretboards, chord diagrams, song lyrics with associated chord diagrams, tablatures. Additionally, we would have access to features like a metronome that allows different blocks or notes to be displayed, practice tracking, a library of scales and chords, a bit of AI, real-time collaboration, a community, sharing, all available on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS cross-platform.
During my personal research and learning, I discovered the importance of UX and Design Thinking, approaches that put the user and their needs at the center of the design. Before fully committing to this project, I have already created some prototypes and conducted extensive research on the technologies to be used. I am convinced that this project is feasible. I now want to gather your opinions and suggestions to ensure, on the one hand, that the idea is viable and, on the other hand, to identify the needs you might have that I may not necessarily have in mind.
Being alone for the moment with a 9-to-5 job, no budget or staff, I rely on your goodwill: I have created a questionnaire on Google Forms that should not take more than 10 to 15 minutes of your time: User survey
I want to be transparent about the fact that all data collected will remain strictly confidential and will not be sold or shared with anyone. In exchange for your valuable participation, you will receive early access to the application as well as to the beta phases, where you can discover all its features in preview.
Thank you in advance for your help and participation!

2024.06.02 07:35 Alive_Design1629 Android Mobile App Testers Needed!

Hello! I have been developing Android Applications via Android Studio for a little over a year now and I have been working on this application for a few months. This is the first time I am publishing an application to the PlayStore and I need a few testers to test my application with me before I can submit it for review and publish it to the App store. If you are interested in Crypto then I'd love to hear some feedback on the application and things to add onto it! Android devs are also more than welcome to test it out, all feedback is appreciated! All testers will be provided a lifetime premium access when the Application does get published to the PlayStore in the future.
If interested,

2024.06.02 07:34 Anxious_Cranberry219 [discussion] 23 Male and I want to change my life, but I'm not motivated at all.

In hindsight I think I might be actually suffering from depression, because I don't even have the motivation to do the simplest of things.
I got fired from my job 3 months ago because the store fully closed down, and even after applying I can't find anything new.
Living with my parents, meanwhile my younger siblings are in the Navy and able to become independent. While I am still living with my folks.
I have no friends, I want to contact them but fear is holding me back. Not to mention I never hear from them.
I made a vow to stop jerking, and I try to stop playing video games all day but it's hard.
Sometimes I think I'm a lost cause. I have a degree but everyone keeps telling me it's a useless major.

2024.06.02 07:32 PuzzleheadedTaro2002 Can someone tell me if I’m being stalked or is this all just a coincidence?

So I work at a grocery store and today my ex came in the store we ended on real bad terms. She actually broke up with me She usually never comes in my job but today I seen her and she had literally had no groceries. Just a few snacks and she was walking around my work area kinda like pacing back and forth looking for stuff although I feel like it was to get my attention and my store is really big so the fact that she was just pacing around the area I was working in makes it more suspicious I don’t know, but can someone tell me is this just a coincidence or is she stalking me

2024.06.02 07:32 Dark_Lord_Randy The First Clerks (1994) Truly Gets Better With Age

I just re-watched Clerks since the first time since my teens. I didn't have the same connection with Kevin Smiths work like a lot of people (especially the Gen X teens and twenty somethings who were there during his prime) as I mainly likes his films for his crude humor and pop culture references in my teen years. However, upon re-watching the movie for the first time in years surprisingly in the era where nerd culture and Clerks style of humor is prevalent in Hollywood sludge, Clerks still feels fresh.
Its a story that directionless teens and twenty somethings of any generation can relate to. No other film captures the timeless struggle of generation divide, sel- absorption, and being directionless of what one wants in life and what makes one happy then a film about two twenty something conveint store clerks. Despite mostly taking place in a convient store, the film tells a complex and meaningful tale of a man stuck in a never ending cylce of cynicism, bitterness, egotism, and lack of direction. Dante may not have the best life, but he has it better than most since he has a girlfriend named Veronica who loves him and brings him Lasagna and a best friend named Randal.
He may hate his job, but he unknowingly works there not knowing that he can chose not to work there. He can chose what makes him happy, and to realize what good he has. Instead, he still obsesses over Caitlin his old ex from high school, and not realize the good girlfriend he has named Catilin. He unknowingly works there, his sense of self-importance deludes him into thinking he is more important than he is. Randal acts as the perfect antithesis of it.
But we get to the best part, the ending. Dante realizes this and that he has control of what makes him happy after losing everything. He lost Veronica, fined for $500 by a health department representative, and potentially his job. That bitter-sweet tragedy is why the film should have end there. Its so timeless, because we are so caught up in the cultural divide and caught up in our role in society, that we don't realize what we have control of since its too late. This is why I prefer this ending over the ending where he got shot.
Its a message that holds super true today. In any period. With social media making most poeple depressed due it being easier to compare your success to others, COVID 19 and how it impacted the economy, Gen Z facing the quarter-life crisis, maxing culture, etc. I feel the films brutal honesty was lost due to its sequels focusing on the silly comedy and Dante and Randal going over the same arc in their 50s. But I feel that will never take away what makes Clerks 1 great. A film that can old that much meaning and impact being felt today despite it being made with a dude with little to know film experience with a shoe string budget really says something. This film undserstands the struggle of a directionless young adult nobody as it was made by a directionless young adult nobody. Not by an old big name Hollywood director or producter.

2024.06.02 07:18 Original_Bonus_7331 Intruder (1989) has suddenly become my reality.

I've always thought that the grocery store in Intruder looked strikingly similar to the one I work at, albeit a bit smaller, but it is a similarly family owned business in a building that's been around for decades with a kind of retro feel to it.
Well, the plot of that movie is that the store is suddenly being closed and everyone is going to be out of a job. Then someone goes crazy and starts murdering the employees. That's me now. As of two weeks ago, I was suddenly was blindsided that my store is being shut down in a month, and good luck finding new work. There hasn't been any murder sprees at my store yet. Hopefully the stress and anxiety doesn't drive me or someone else there into an unhinged rampage.🤪
I found this out the day after I saw The Strangers Chapter 1, which was both a blessing and a curse. It's good because being oblivious to my job ending meant I could fully enjoy the movie, and I'm apparently one of few people who DID enjoy the movie. It's bad because on top of the stress and depression of knowing my job was ending suddenly, I was also being bombarded with all the negativity of "Strangers sucks! Worst movie of the year!". And I know that's kind of petty all things considered, but it was just a little more crap being dribbled over the already shitty sandwich life was handing me at that moment.
Also, it's unfortunate to admit it, but that life situation also did negatively impact my viewing experiences for Furiosa and In a Violent Nature. I did still like both of them, but I went to see them to try to get my mind off of other matters, even if ever so briefly. Unfortunately it didn't work. Thoughts of my imminent unemployment kept seeping in at times to taint my experience with outside anxieties.
Something good may finally be potentially opening up for me, or I hope it is. Then I can finally move past this.🤞 It would be absolutely dreadful if this drags on longer and taints other movies like The Watchers, A Quiet Place: Day One, and MaXXXine that I want to see this summer.

2024.06.02 07:16 Comfortable-Milk8397 Produce department

Hey everyone, I just started a week ago in my stores produce department and wondering if it’s normal to not know what the fuck you are doing 70% of the time?
I’ve come from food service industry and feel pretty overwhelmed.
Somehow I’m supposed to keep an accurate list on what I’m stocking, keep an accurate list on what I’m removing, be aware of what we have in the back room (because the stock on zebras are always wrong and the trucks are always missing what we need), help break pallets, unload trucks, markdown items, do my fucking wildfire training on fresh start, etc.
All while making sure I’m actually doing “my job” of actually stocking and telling customers for the billionth time we are all out of watermelon right now.
I know this will get easier over time, but this has been possibly the most stressful training experience of any job I’ve worked.

2024.06.02 07:15 nah403 Internships to apply to in the summer of 2025

I am a computer science major and I am going to be sophomore in college next year. I was wondering if there was a place I could reference for internships I should apply to that I could have a shot at getting into (I know the job market is pretty bad right now so it's okay if thats not gonna happen) for the summer of 2025 or a few internships that I should definitely look into/apply for next year. I have at least a year of experience in the technical field so I hope this can help with any applications. Thank you!!

It wasn’t until I got home and told my partner about my find today (nearly an hour after spotting them) that I would get my second chance at snagging them. He sent me back to the store and told me to get them if I wanted and he would cover it😭😭😭 what a lucky guy am I 🥹

2024.06.02 07:06 KngTyrannosaurus ATO Calculator giving $10k tax bill? Not sure what to do (HECS + Novated Lease)

First up, I do have HECS and an FBT exempt vehicle so this is complicated. Also the ATO calculator only has FY22/23 figures so far, but I'll be using FY23/24 therefore it'll be out a little bit (but hopefully not $10k+).
I am forecast to have earned ~120k EOFY (pre salary sacrifice) which includes 34k tax withheld and $18,500 in an FBT-exempt novated lease on an EV. TL;DR: When I calculate my tax bill I owe $740, when the ATO Calculator does it I owe $10,654.50 - which is right?
My calculation:
From what I can gather, I effectively have two assessed incomes. My taxable income, which does not include the salary sacrifice ($120,000 - $18,500 = $101,500), and my Repayment Income (for HECS/Medicare) which involves a correction factor for tax equivalence.
From the ATO, my Reportable Fringe Benefits Amount is 'Grossed up', this benefit has GST (its a car) so the rate is 2.0802. Therefore my RFBA is $18.5k * 2.0802 = $38,483.70. This is then added to my taxable income, so my Repayment Income is $101,500 + $38,483.70 = $139,983.70.
So as I understand it, I therefore have two income figures for tax calculations:
I'll split what I owe into the categories that use each.
In Taxable Income ($101,500) I will owe $20,392.50
In Repayment Income ($139,983.70) I will owe $14,348.32
The sum of my what I owe for Taxable ($20,392.50) and Repayment ($14,348.32) incomes is $34,740. Therefore my tax bill will be Owings ($34,740) - Tax Withheld ($34,000) which is $740.
ATO Calculation:
Putting this same information into the ATO calculator with the following settings yields a tax bill of $10,654.50:
Can anyone help? I'll see an accountant of course but I must be doing something wrong.

2024.06.02 07:04 TopQualityFeedback From Frustration: I do not want to hear about knife skills, I am a numbers guy. Every slice or dice is a roulette. I can dice, it takes too long. Even at my skill level. What CONSUMER FOOD PROCESSOR has the BEST dicing kit? It is okay for people who do not know which is the best to not respond - TY!

As title: I bought a Breville Paradice 9. For a couple or a single person, it is AWESOME. For a family of 5, or for large prep-ahead pico, bruschetta, or similar dicing needs, you need something bigger. I will get a Paradice 16 in an instant were it available in Damson Blue to match my Bakery Chef (no hub, are you serious Breville?) & my Handy Mixer Scraper jobby - fine. I will pay 700 dollars for it, or even buy the Sous Chef 16 + the “upcoming” same-exact-dicing-kit for 250 more USD - not a problem. But who has the BEST?
I will sell my Bakery Chef & get a KitchenAid mixer + the processodicer kit for it, if I have to. Prefer not to. I have a 14 cup cuisinart (custom version) & I hate America’s Test Kitchen for recommending it because it is great at the 3 things it can do & has ZERO accessories/attachments to expand it. It is a beautiful, awesome processor that I have used 3 times.
All I want is to DICE AUTOMATICALLY. Who out there is DICING AUTOMATICALLY? What are you using & why is it better than any other option?
I am not spending 2k+ on a Robot Coupe, though I might drop $1259 on a Waring that is too big but that I know will do the job & also shoot the dice right into the bowl.
I love dicing, it is enjoyable, to an extent - that extent is “when it is the only time consuming thing“ - I do not have time. The problem is thus:
I have destroyed Seed Oils in our household, so I have to make everything from scratch. Everything has soy in it At the grocery store. I have to make our bread 3 times a week, I have to make our prepped salsas & bruchettas, pasta salads etc. I have to do a lot in this house - I DO NOT CARE THAT CLEANING IT IS A BITCH - I PREFER CLEANING OVER risking cutting a finger off every single slice or dice with a knife. I am good with a knife - I am fast, claw hand, do not waste time “cross cutting” an onion to dice it - I STILL manage to cut one finger or the other at least once or twice a year & I am sick of it. I would rather dice in seconds, then clean up the machine, then prepare the meal over constantly worrying that I might take a sliver off my fingernail or such every time I am dicing days worth of pico etc. SO: WHICH IS THE BEST? Thanks!

2024.06.02 07:02 Sad-Extreme-4413 Application Process Comparison: Navy vs. RAAF

Hey everyone,
I recently began my application journey with the Navy, and I've completed my JOA (Job Opportunities Assessment). Excitingly, all three of my preferred jobs are labeled as 'priority to fill' roles. While I'm eagerly awaiting my YOU session confirmation, an ADF recruiter informed me that the enlistment date could be anywhere from 6 to 18 months away.
I'm itching with anticipation to embark on this new chapter and kickstart my career in the Navy. However, the process got me thinking about my younger brother's experience with the RAAF. He applied 1.5 years ago when he was just 16 and a half, also aiming for a 'priority to fill role,' and he's still awaiting his enlistment day.
It's fascinating (and slightly nerve-wracking) to see the differences in the application timelines between branches. Has anyone else noticed similar variations or had similar experiences? Would love to hear your thoughts and insights!
Cheers.
