This is kind of a random thought after I saw an edit appear on my for you page on tiktok (color me surprised to see a danny phantom edit in 2024 but love that).
A few times in the show, and seemingly at will, Danny is able to change his eye color from his icy blue to the neon green.
It happens most notably in "Maternal Instinct" when Vlad secretly antagonizes Danny while trying to coerce/convince Maddie and him to stay with him. When Danny got visibly angry, his eyes flash and Vlad mockingly calls them "the scary eyes" lol.
The other notable instance is during the Fanning the Flames episode. After that whole fiasco with the love spell and Sam, Danny, pissed tf off, snarls out Ember's name as his eyes flash green.
Now, my running theory with this, is that rather than it being an "at will" thing, his eye change happens more so during times of emotional distress. So involuntary vs at will.
But what do you think?

I'm using Cambria font for main text and math text. The math is displayed as Italics.
How can I remove the default Italics font-style for math, and just have the normal style as default for the entire document?

2024.05.19 07:20 Orbpondered Dream that I had years ago and remember vividly- spiritual?
Hello- wondering if I can have help interpreting this dream I had years ago when I was 16 that’s been burned into my mind since. I can recall every single detail and play the dream through my mind if I wish- it’s been such an impactful dream.
I believe it revealed home, or it was supposed to. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to revisit this place of comfort.
The first two phases of the dream is weird, one of being the perspective of a little boy- the other the perspective of a teenage girl. Third part it’s me being myself.
First phase of the dream, I’m a little boy in a car with my parents and little brother. I’m looking through this boy’s eyes. The car is surrounded in a thick blue fog, yet my parents are driving in silence with the radio playing static- my little brother just acts like a typical calm child. We soon pull up to a big blue shed converted to a house, the fog is so thick I can only see the door and the light that shines above the door. We all walk in, there’s my room ahead of me and there’s a long stretch off hallway from both left and right- but I head into my room. It’s filled with various toys- mainly red and blue ones, Spider-Man, comic hero’s, etc. it’s small, I jump onto my bunk bed and look over the edge to see a pile of “girl toys” hiding, pink various ones like littlest pet shop (I personally played with them as a child). Next thing I know I blink and I’m instantly another person.
When I open my eyes I’m a tall, lanky teenage ginger girl. I’m looking from her eyes as well and notice I’m in a tall office building. We’re quite a ways up, a couple of stories and I can see other buildings surrounding us through the large glass windows. I’m sitting at a tall table surrounded by my friends and classmates, some sitting on the seats around the tables and some sitting around the bottom or bellow the table, just chatting away happily. I’m not engaging but I am taking in the sights. This doesn’t last long, as I look to my left hearing a boy in a grey hoodie say my (this girl’s) name and look me in the eyes- familiarity. I think
Again I blink- and awaken at the edge of a pool. I would’ve drawn a demonstration, but feel as it’s in some way sacred.
I wake up at the foot of this pool shaped like an hourglass- the edges of the pool look to be a rough golden color. I’m on the end side along the edge of darkened water. It looks like charcoal has been dumped into the water and it’s murky. On the other side is this bright, tropical water- glowing like one of those Fischer price fish scenery toys. It glows and refracts like crazy and there’s plenty of colorful, tropical fish swimming around.
Where the smallest point of the pool is and where the two waters meet they’re split perfectly, I can see the shadow of a large sea creature like a pleosaur swim past the border.
Along the edges and bordering the pool are these beautiful and plentiful lush ferns, monstera, palms, various tropical plants. The sky is a deep purple, it is vast, serene and filled with tiny pinpricks of stars. The air is warm, moist and slightly thick but not uncomfortably so.
I start getting up from the pool edge and I’m wearing some loose clothing and jewelry, I have water sticking to my skin and I feel warm.. content.. peaceful. I look to my left and see a golden pyramid- about 8 feet tall at most.
It’s beautiful, I walk towards it. From this my perspective changes to third person, and I envision myself laying my hand flat against the surface of the pyramid, it’s cool, solid and moist to the touch. I then rest my forehead and nose against the pyramid and from there- I wake up.
I had never felt such serenity or peace and I feel as though a message was sent to me for me to remember such a vivid dream in detail.
I will mention that I’ve always been drawn interested and connected to cats since an incredibly young age- and now at 23 I am starting to practice working with the Egyptian goddess Bastet. This dream was before this, though and I wonder if it kicked off my calling.

Small rant about something that’s ultimately just a pet peeve, but oh my gosh this one gets on my nerves! I’m going through reviews of lipsticks to find real unedited photos (product swatches from the companies themselves aren’t always great representations) and so many negative reviews are just people complaining that they don’t like the color of the lipstick they chose!!
The shade range as a whole only caters to one part of the skin tone spectrum (usually the light-medium section let’s be so fr)? Valid criticism to leave in a review, imo.
The specific color you chose is too cool/warm on your skin tone and doesn’t look like what you wanted? Idk what to tell you that’s just how color theory works. Unless it’s a true neutral red there aren’t really any universally flattering lipstick shades. That’s not the lipsticks fault!! Why are you leaving one star reviews on formulas YOU ENJOYED just because you picked the wrong shade??!

Sometime after getting married in 2008 and getting my first job that included benefits in 2009, I purchased a book about financial literacy. I'm having a hard time remembering much detail, but I do remember that it had some specific advice in it that helped me understand what type of funds I should choose for my new 401k account. I'm not sure what the cover art looked like, but I seem to remember it may have had some shiny foil detail and it may have had green. I think it may have been landscape-oriented and may have had full color pages.

He's not to be given his freedom until I hear that the shipment has come in from the Jolly Roger. Apparently, he is tall, dark, and handsome – a devil of a man that goes by a strange name. They call him… Hook.

I just wrote a 9 page, 2,950 word paper on why hognose snakes might stop eating and what to try to get them eating again. And I mean they didnt ask me to, (the little girl just kept asking my sister, who has no snake knowledge, what to do so she'd ask me) i just decided to, and I had fun writing it because I'm very passionate about snakes and teaching people about pet care.
But I still strongly believe that if you're getting your young child a pet, you as the parent should do a lot of research, and oversee the care of the animal. 9yr olds really don't have the responsibility and patience to take care of an animal on their own. You need to help them learn about it, and teach them by example how much research you need to do before you get a pet.
I think it's a real issue that so many people get pets (especially reptiles and amphibians who usually have more specific care needs) and then don't know what to do with it. We really need to normalize researching pets.
Moral of the story, learn how to take care of your pets, and don't leave all the learning up to young children.

(I have 2 more earlier versions of js code in the same folder but none of them are quoted anywhere so I assume this isn't a problem)
I truly really appreciate anyone's help to get out of this brain prison!! I used 120% of my brain and I am still 100% clueless rn :P

Weird title, and weird story, but I have to get this off my chest and tell somebody about it because it upset me so so badly.
My grandpa is in the middle stages of dementia, and he likes to watch animals. Birds outside, the neighborhood cats outside of his window, squirrels, live cams of animals on TV, all that kind of stuff keeps his attention and make him less antsy for a long time. So for his birthday in early April, I got him a 20 gallon fish tank to keep on the table next to his recliner. Now, I did some research into fish, and found out it was best to run the tank for a while before putting fish in it. Ok, so I set it all up on his birthday, put some aquatic plants in it, and let it run until I got home from college, about a month later.
The other day I decided it was finally time to get some fish. Although I could have done this without my Papa, I decided it would be good to get him out and about, and get his say on what color of fish we were gonna get. We talked about what fish we wanted before this, and decided that wanted at least 4 Tetras, so we could name them after the Beatles.
We get to the big chain pet store, Papa picks out a little yellow submarine to put in his tank, all is well, until we get to the actually getting of the fish. A worker comes out and asks me what type of fish I want, I point out the exact fish, and ask my Papa what colors he would like. The worker stops me, and asks me who exactly the fish are for, and seeing no reason to lie, I tell the worker that they are for my Papa. Who, at this stage of dementia, it is quite obvious he is not at 100% mental capacity. Suddenly, the worker gets all strange, and begins interrogating me on my tank. What size it is, how long the filter has been running, etc. Again, I see no reason to lie to him, so I tell him everything already covered. The worker says that my tank is way to small, that I need at least 30 gallon tank to hold any fish, and that my filter hasn't been running for long enough, blabbers on for about 30 minutes about how irresponsible it would be for me to have this fish, an insists the only thing that can live in my tank is plants. He says he will not sell us fish, any fish. He then proceeds to practically force us to buy a plant (picked one off the shelf, put it in my hand, and walked us to the register). I buy the plant and my Papa's yellow submarine.
At this point, I am fuming. I kind of caught on to what this worker was about-he assumed my Papa couldn't take care of this fish. But I'm trying to keep my cool, not wanting my Papa to see that I was upset. Papa is of course confused when we get back to the car as to why we have no fish, I tell him that they just didn't have the ones we wanted (now usually I tell the truth but in this situation, I knew he would have stormed back in and demanded the fish if he knew what had happened)
I knew for a fact fish could live in the tank I set up, so I did what I should have done in the first place, go to the local fish store. The reason I didn't do this in the first place is because it is not disability accessible, like so many small business are, unfortunately.
I go to the local fish store, leaving Papa in the car with the Beatles playing (of course), explain to the fish man my situation. Asking him if there are any fish that could live in a 20 gallon tank
"Of course, I've got the perfect fish for you"
You know what they were? Tetras! The only warning the fish man gave me was to keep the food hidden from my Papa as him may over feed them, no problem was gonna do that anyways. Plan was for me to be the fish caretaker in the first place.
So now John, Paul, George, and Ringo are happily living next to my Papas chair with their yellow submarine. My Papa couldn't be happier watching his fish. I'm just so mad we were seemingly discriminated against by the worker at the big chain store, I assume he thought my Papa would be the sole caregiver of the fish, which is an unfair assumption, especially since he didn't ask me who would be caring for the fish-just who the fish were for.
Sorry for the long post, this whole story has had me fuming for days, I though writing it all out for you lovely internet people would help me calm down about it.

I have never been able to visualize anything; I see black or a bit of colored light. So I stumbled across this page and noticed oh yeah that's me but also everyone is complaining about a hard time with memories. I don't have this experience. I can't see an outfit someone was wearing yeaterday in my head but I remember facts about it. I can tell you the top was sage, had cape sleeves, and a regency neckline but I can't picture it. I can describe people and places but can't see them in my head.
I am skeptical. Is all visualizing is being able to recall characteristcs and piece them together? I can't fathom picturing something in my head at all and I am beginning to think that everyone is just exaggerating. Everyone sees black and then just remembers details.

So, backstory--I'm an old school HTML novice. Learned it back in the 90's. Did most of my own code and only really used CSS for light aesthetics (like changing the color of the scroll bar to match the site, etc). Recently, I've decided it's not worth keeping a personal website anymore, not with all the social media stuff out there and Yahoo has passed off its hosting service to another company and the prices have ballooned (I've had the account since it was Geocities--before Yahoo was a thing).
Anyway. I'm keeping the domain, because I like the email address but I want a nice splash page instead of the gross 'coming soon' crap the host puts up. I've whipped up something that I like--just a single large image (size-wise, it's only like 464kb). What I want is the image to sit on the page, centered vertically and horizontally in a letterbox type presentation (like the black bars at the top/bottom of your screen when watching original format movies).
Back in the day, I did this easily with frames. I used frames a lot for positioning (specifically centering). I know frames are basically fully depreciated and only supported for posterity at this point so I'd like to do this properly with CSS. Which is unfortunate because I never got too heavily into it beyond little stuff (mostly color).
I have the image where I want. I have it resizing with the browser window and remaining centered both vertically and horizontally. What I want is the letterbox effect when the image doesn't fill the screen. I know this can probably be done by making the background the letterbox color and using a div tag around the image and extend it to the width of the page so that it gives that visual effect but that is a little beyond me (honestly, I copy and pasted most of this and just tested it over and over). I feel like this should be really easy (and likely is), but it's been a minute since I did any coding.

I'm quite curious, does anyone here have any random or obscure Fossil Fighters stuff? I've seen a few pages listing the same yellow shirt given out at the La Brea Tar Pits event, but nothing else from those pictures (there were different colored shirts, hats, and even a pre-release box which contained a "fossil" that you'd "clean" to uncover a copy of Fossil Fighters). I also found a store display online (the only page I've ever seen with anything like it), but the person who was selling it said it was no longer available (I wanted to fall into Rivet Ravine after that one).
