2024.05.18 20:37 CronenbergNolan How to beat Titan Rain & Titan Li Mei

For those who haven’t seen other posts, here’s how to beat the current Titan bosses.
Rain: Use Raiden and buy the Static Charm from the Fengjian Village mesa shop. Apply that before fighting Rain to make your electric attacks pierce armor. You can use any electric attack on him, but I just spammed Deadly Current (Y,B,Y,X on Xbox; Triangle, Circle, Triangle, Square on PS5) and took him down very easy.
Li Mei: Use Baraka and buy the Molten Capsule from the Shang Tsung’s Lab mesa shop. Aply that before fighting to get +50% fire resistance. No real strategy needed for the fight itself under these conditions, she’s a piece of cake.

2024.05.18 20:36 3_CatsInATrenchCoat Looking for LGBT friendly roommate to apply for a 2B/2B for fall ~1500 per person

Hello my name's June! I'm an incoming CompSci transfer student looking for someone to apply for a 2 bed/2 bath apartment with before the fall semester.
No gender preference, but I am a queer woman so my ideal roommate is LGBT friendly. I currently live in NorCal but am planning on making a trip down to tour apartments within the next couple weeks. Move-in date anywhere between June-Aug.
I'm clean, quiet, easygoing and have been living alone/renting since I was 18 and have never missed a rent payment.
I have 2 cats (they don't get along well with other pets unfortunately) and don't drink or smoke but I take edibles on occasion. I'm employed remotely teaching AI to learn to code and am generally an introvert so I'm usually home a lot. I like bouldering, thrifting, gaming, badminton and anime.
These are the requirements for the apartments I'm looking at: - Central aiheating (I used to live in Irvine with a landlord that wouldn't let me run the AC, let's just say that experience traumatized me 😭) - In unit washedryer (as a night owl, coin op communal laundry rooms that lock the doors at 10pm are my archnemesis) - Personal bathrooms (I like keeping my bathroom clean and this way your bathroom doesn't smell like cat shit, win-win)
You can reach me here or on insta @loonijoons if interested

I'm a non EU citizen studying for master's degree in Germany, I have a full scholarship from the DAAD and I'm only allowed to work a mini job. My plan is to find a job after I finish my degree and stay in Germany, I want to know it if would be possible to apply for citizenship after 3 years if I don't/can't pay taxes during my studies.

2024.05.18 20:33 Veilypso 24 [M4F] United States/Anywhere - What if we held hands in the Chuck E. Cheese SkyTubes? 😳

Hey! I've had an awful time on dating apps since they feel incredibly transactional and hollow, so I've decided to try Reddit to find my soulmate or my nemesis, whichever one comes first.
I'm currently on the East Coast of the United States, but location doesn't really matter for me since I like traveling and I'm not particularly tied down. I wouldn't say I'm forever alone, but admittedly I've been lonely as of late. I miss the feeling of having someone to confide in! I miss the cheesy talking stages, and getting to be supportive of someone. I want cheesy movie marathons and date nights. At the risk of sounding generic, I want the feeling of having a partner in crime again. I'm not looking for anything super specific, so anyone's welcome to message me. Forming a relationship with someone is ideal. I think falling in love is underrated, and I'm not saying that's 100% what's going to come from this, but I think it'd be nice to try. I'd prefer to take things relatively slow though, so you won't have to worry about walking down the aisle at the Cheetos Chapel any time soon.
I'm pretty bad at descriptions of myself, so I would be more than willing to exchange pictures early on since I know physical attraction is important to most people. Stats-wise, I'm around 150 pounds, fairly slim/fit, and I'm 5'9 (175cm) (0.0009 nautical miles for the pirates out there).
When it comes to interests, I'm fairly nerdy. I looooove horror media. It's probably the topic I can speak about the most. I'm a huge fan of hiking and camping. I play games in my free time and would love to find more people to play with, though it's not really a dealbreaker if you don't play anything, it's just a fun and easy way to spend time with someone! Outside of that, I enjoy reading and writing, and rewatching Breaking Bad every few months 😭 I used to do boxing and art in the past as well.
There's a lot more that I can say but I tried to keep this short since I don't want to overwhelm anyone who ends up reading this with a big wall of text. If anyone's interested then by all means feel free to DM me, I promise you won't regret it (too much.) I hope to hear from some of you soon. Bye!

2024.05.18 20:33 Akannnii Anyone know if any of the hospitals in Jax hire entry level no experience?

Been looking for a job at the hospitals (hca, ascension, mayo etc,) and the Patient Care Tech role caught my eye. Seems to require little to no experience (although preferred), and usually only mentions a BLS certification which seems easy to obtain. Anyone working at any of these hospitals know if its worth it to even apply without experience?

2024.05.18 20:32 imsorrybutareyou Dear Kye

Dear Kye,
I tried to message you so many times to get you to open up, and I know you never will. It's not your fault, everything that you've been through, but it is your responsibility to heal from it all.
I've been wanting to have a heart to heart. To listen to everything I know that's on the tip of your lips thar you've never said. But I get nothing from you.
You act cold and distant. A complete 180 from when we met. And since you will never hear me out, or let me say it, you've completely ruined me.
So here's all of the things I've never gotten to say to you, that I wish I would have said when I first felt you drifting away.
It's not fair how you blame me.
How you make me take all of the responsibility.
You never once thought about how I felt during it all.
You left my Discord chat, and I reacted poorly. I was hurt because I felt like the act of you leaving meant that you didn't care about me. Add in all the unanswered texts and the slow replies, how else was I suppose to feel?
I apologized profusely, but you never took any of the blame or responsibility.
I shouldered your pain and insecurities knowing that what you were going through was hard, but you never tried to meet me even half way.
And the worst part about it all, was that moment isn't even when it started.
At the beginning I told you I wanted to go slow. I was just getting out of a long term relationship, and I really liked you and I didn't want to fuck things up.
Yet 2 weeks in and you were telling me you loved me in French and telling me not to Google it. Not to mention the times I saw you post it and the delete it, as if I wouldn't have seen.
You love bombed me, and maybe I love bombed you back. I didn't want to, but you made it so easy to fall into that pattern.
Sending texts, videos, answering 1,000 questions, getting to know every single intimate detail of our lives in a matter of weeks.
It's why I refused you when you said you wanted to buy a ticket to come see me 2 weeks in.
Because deep down I knew what you were doing, and it was too fast.
We burned bright. Hot. Heavy.
You were everything I wanted.
But you were avoidant of feelings, and blamed me for having walls up.
I was trying to protect myself from loving you more than I already did.
I tried to give you peace.
You pushed me away.
I wrote you poems and love notes. Woke up every morning to tell you that I loved you. I told you how handsome, creative, and amazing you were.
I worshipped the ground that you walked on and I offered you my heart knowing that you were already holding a knife to it.
But I tried to trust you.
You were my twin flame.
My divine counterpart.
I tried to give you all of the time and space that you needed.
I messed up once.
But I was perfect for you, and you know it.
I've let my anger boil.
I've felt it under my skin.
And it only rages the more that you don't acknowledge how you truly felt.
But I also let it all go.
I write it in the best lyrics and poems I've ever written.
That you will never get to hear.
But I will share them with my future partner.
The one I find peace and security in.
The one I feel safe and secure around, because I never did with you.
And I find peace in knowing that one day, when you are on your death bed, surrounded by your wife and kids, the last fucking thought that will go through your mind is about how you wished it was me still be your side.
I will be your last thought. Your last prayer.
In 10 years, when you think you've moved on, you'll pass by somewhere or something and think of me and feel the burden and sadness that you've give to me.
You'll wonder how I am doing.
Because you let everything go.
You let me go.
And I know damn well that you still want me.
You come up in all of my tarot readings about how you still have me on your mind even when you try to move on.
And it will be like that for the rest of your life because you will never face your emotions or your feelings.
You try to avoid it all.
But you cant.
And it will catch up to you.
In a few months. In a few years. In 10 years.
I will always be there.
On your mind.
And with that brings peace to know that you will always hurt in the way you've hurt me.
The nights I spent aching to just rot away, wishing for death because it felt more peaceful.
The months I've spent crying wondering what I did so wrong, knowing damn well it was nothing that I did.
The anger that I let boil under my skin until I thought it would melt off.
I've felt my pain.
And I've moved on.
But you will never move on.
That is your curse.
And I'll make sure of it.
Yours truly, 'Persephone'

2024.05.18 20:30 roseohseven Long first time trip report 5/13-5/18!

LOOOONG first time trip report! 5/13-5/18, stayed at Beach Club, visited all four parks, bought Genie+ every day, had the standard DDP. Family of 4, two girls 5 and 9. I learned so much from this group over the past year and especially loved trip reports, so hopefully this post will be helpful to someone!
💲BUDGET💲
-- I booked the trip a year out so I could break it up into 12 manageable payments. I opened the no fee Disney VISA, which gives you several months of no interest on charges made towards Disney travel packages, rewards dollars to use at Disney, and a couple other perks like character meet and greets and discounts.
-- I signed up for Disney Movie Insiders. This is what you're supposed to do with all those little codes that come in Disney DVDs/Blurays. You enter the codes in exchange for points, and at 1000 points, you can redeem for a $10 Disney gift card. You also get points for being subscribed to Disney+, seeing Disney movies in the theater, their social media accounts, and a whole bunch of other things. I got $50 in gift cards from this alone.
-- If you want Disney-themed luggage, try thinking outside the box to save money! I got plain luggage in Mickey colors--red and black--and Mickey luggage tags to make them Disney themed.
-- I tried to budget for souvenirs via gift cards... but I failed, lol. Everything is so expensive, $100 is gone in a second. Plushes are like $40, coffee cups are $20, etc. Whatever you're planning to spend, double it! I get what people say about most shops having the same stuff, but it's definitely not all of them, most of the ones post-ride have unique stuff. And honestly it's kind of nice most of them have the same stuff, if you want to get whatever your kid was asking for earlier, you don't have to walk all the way back to the one shop you saw it at.
-- We paid for Memory Maker and I'm on the fence about it. On the one hand, it's really nice to get all the ride photos and meet and greet photos and magic shots. It's also really nice for the whole family to be in a lot of pictures and not have to swap with the other adult or find someone willing to take your picture. On the other, we definitely didn't utilize it as much as I wanted to because a lot of the photographers had pretty long lines and I just didn't want to spend time waiting for a picture I could take myself. If we came across someone with a shortish or no line, we made sure to get it, but for anyone with a long line, we just stood around the same spot and took our own.
🗓️PLANNING🗓️
-- If you have kids and live within easy driving distance of another amusement park, highly recommend making a visit BEFORE going to Disney to get an idea of how they handle that kind of day/environment, especially if they have never been. I quickly discovered we would absolutely need a stroller and I would need to be militant with the kids about staying hydrated. Also to avoid face paint, as heat + tears + paint + eyes = bad day! I felt so much better making these discoveries beforehand and being able to prepare accordingly, rather than making them at Disney.
-- USE AN AGENT! An agent is free to you, so why not have the help? Ours was amazing, she gave us quotes, booked the package, rebooked as needed later when a better deal came out, made all the payments, dining and extra reservations, and was just all-around awesome to work with. It was such a load off to know I wasn't on my own with all this stuff.
-- Watch everything Ear Scouts. No one explains Genie+ better, and Rob and Erick's videos are just so positive and beautiful and well done.
-- I also enjoyed reading Disney Tourist Blog--lovingly snarky but super informative!--and Disney Food Blog for fun tips and news.
-- I didn't find any park to be a half day park, we filled our whole day in every one and still didn't see everything!
-- My kids did really well, whenever they were on the verge of cranky, we had one ride in the stroller for a while, bought a snack (usually ice cream or popcorn), and used the bubble wand, and/or gave them some ibuprofen, and everyone felt better pretty quick. We never tried to do fireworks, we were all done by 8 so always left after dinner. The only park we closed down was EPCOT because we didn't get out of dinner until after close, and that was a really cool experience, the park was so quiet and empty and beautiful!
-- You don't NEED a Magic Band... but man, was it convenient. We just had 1.0 Magic Bands though, we didn't bother with the 2.0s.
-- I guess moving through security fast is important to people rope dropping... but as someone who didn't, it added like maybe 30 seconds to a minute to the experience the couple times my bag got flagged, it's really not a big deal.
-- I'm not saying anyone's lying about bad experiences or exaggerating or anything, but try to remember that far more people go on the Internet to complain than they do to praise. I got so stressed about all the things that could go wrong, and we had a pretty much perfect trip. The only attraction that broke down on us was Muppetvision, of all things. The only "bad behavior" we witnessed was the morning we were leaving, we could hear a dad across the hall yelling at his family, I think they overslept and were going to miss their flight or something? We just turned the TV on so we didn't have to hear him. A couple times we forgot to take our stuff with us when we parked our stroller or forgot some food in it, and neither people nor animals bothered it. The only dicey thing that happened to us was me dropping my phone into the Dumbo moat, the cast members fished it out and it still worked, I sent them a cast compliment for all their help! All the cast members were great, I'm not really sure what people expect but IMO they all do amazing for having to be peppy and helpful all day in absolutely blazing heat, walking a ride conveyer belt nonstop, repeating the same spiels over and over, meeting person after person, etc. I wouldn't last a 2 hour shift let alone 8. Cast members, you rock!!!
✈️TRAVEL✈️
-- We flew Delta, flight there was flawless, flight home was delayed by an hour waiting for crew and was a little bumpy (which is not great for a nervous flyer like me) but otherwise fine.
-- Get TSA PreCheck! Good for a few years, if the adults have it the kids have it too. It made the whole experience so much easier. That said, even PreCheck still moves kind of slow at MCO, so definitely get there at least 2 hours early for your flight. Use curbside check-in for bags, way faster than the long line inside!
-- On our agent's recommendation, we used Away We Go for ground transport in Orlando. They communicate really well, both ways were flawless, no complaints!
-- We used Minnie Vans to get to Animal Kingdom + Sanaa and Magic Kingdom, what a wonderful service! Definitely pricey, but they had cartoons on in the car, booster seats they set up for you, and the drivers were so nice and friendly and had fun trivia to share. I never had any problem requesting one when I needed it.
⛱️BEACH CLUB⛱️
-- We knew we wanted an onsite hotel where you could walk to at least one park. This pretty much limits you to a handful of Deluxe hotels or the Swan and Dolphin. Beach Club won for us because it's "in the Disney bubble" and you can walk to 2/4 parks. Note that while you can technically walk to Hollywood Studios, it is a LOOOONG walk. The boat is a nice not crowded alternative! We did not make use of Early Entry or Extended Hours, we're just not built for either. Beach Club was lovely, we booked a resort view but I think we ended up with a water view, we were right by the quiet pool and could see the water beyond from our room. Stormalong Bay was a little crazy for us but we loved the quiet pool. Best thing about Beach Club though is the location, EPCOT is literally steps away!
🌳ANIMAL KINGDOM🌳
-- We had read that there's really no bad day to do AK, so we started there. We rode: Navi River Journey, Flight of Passage, Kali River Rapids, Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Triceratops Spin, and Dinosaur--so pretty much everything! With Genie+ we walked onto all of them. We also met Moana, Pocahontas, and Russell! The only thing we didn't do here that we wanted to was the Gorilla Falls trail, but we just ran out of time before the park closed.
🌐EPCOT🌐
-- We had read to avoid EPCOT on Fridays and Saturdays, so we went on Wednesday. We rode: Grand Fiesta Tour, Living with the Land, Nemo, Spaceship Earth, Imagination with Figment, Frozen, Remy, and Guardians--everything we wanted! Again, with Genie+, we walked right onto everything! We also met Anna and Elsa! Tried a couple of Flower and Garden snacks: chicken and waffles, fruit and cheese strudel, and potato pancakes, all were delicious! Everyone had a different favorite day, but EPCOT was personally my favorite day, it felt like we were firing on all cylinders and the day just went really smoothly!
🏰MAGIC KINGDOM🏰
-- We had read that Wednesdays were the quietest days at MK, so we were originally going to try to do it that day, but we could only get a reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table on Thursday, so we switched it up. Definitely the most crowded of all the parks we visited, but I think that's just the norm for MK, everyone wants to go to the castle park with the most rides. We rode: Regal Carousel, Tomorrowland Speedway, Barnstormer, Magic Carpets, Mad Tea Party, People Mover, Dumbo, Small World, Little Mermaid, Pirates, Space Ranger Spin, Jungle Cruise, TRON, and Peter Pan. Again, with Genie+, we walked right onto everything! The only ride we missed at this park that we wanted to do was Pooh, I couldn't manage to get a return time that was earlier than we planned on leaving. Outside of our character meals (more on those in the dining section!) we also met Mirabel, Tiana, and Rapunzel! We had both the Rapunzel and Aurora ice creams, both so good and cute!
🎬HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS🎬
-- We had read that, like MK, it's better to do HS later in the week, so we went Friday. We rode: Slinky, Alien Saucers, Toy Story Mania, Rise, Smuggler's Run, Runaway Railway. Again, with Genie+, we walked right onto everything! The only ride we missed was Tower of Terror, again I couldn't manage to get a return time that was earlier than we planned on leaving. We also met Olaf, be aware Olaf doesn't sign stuff, they just give you a signature card. This park needs more shade IMO, especially Toy Story Land, I know it's supposed to be Andy's backyard, but I don't see why that means we can't have some shade from trees or something. 🤪 Blue milk from Galaxy's Edge was really good, the family was all fighting over it!
🍽️DINING🍽️
-- We almost certainly lost some money on the DDP, but I'm still glad we got it because it allowed us to do more table service meals and have less stress overall about expenses. We easily used up everything but child quick service credits, we had a few of those left over near the end.
Here's where we ate!
BOARDWALK DELI/PIZZA WINDOW: Pizza for the kids, sandwiches for the adults. Tasty and satisfying after our day of travel!
BEACHES AND CREAM: Got the kitchen sink for the experience, but honestly it's not great, all the ice cream and toppings melt together quick and you just end up with weird ice cream soup.
SAT'ULI CANTEEN: LOVED this place, everything was so yummy! Best quick service we had!
SANAA: Since Animal Kingdom closes so early, we thought we'd try to extend the experience by eating at Sanaa. What a great idea, we got seated right by a window and saw so many animals! The food was great too.
AKERSHUS: Our favorite princess meal! We met Aurora, Tiana, Snow White, Ariel, and Belle. They were all lovely, and the breakfast was really good too. Only 1 credit on the DDP!
GARDEN GRILL: Our kids really enjoyed getting to look down over Living with the Land and the fact that the restaurant spins. We met Farmer Mickey, Pluto, and Chip and Dale. They were fun and even came to our table more than once. Food was good!
SPACE 220: Not on the DDP, but wow, what a cool restaurant! Almost like a ride with the theming and the elevator up. Food was really good.
CINDERELLA'S ROYAL TABLE: You gotta eat in the castle! We paid for it OOP because we didn't want to use up 2 DDP credits here. You're really going for the location and the princesses, the food is kinda meh, not bad but not as good as other places. The restaurant is small and they have to turn tables quick, so it's very understandable to me that the princesses have to move fast. It's not that they rush you, they'll take all the pictures you ask for and sign whatever and answer your questions, but if you don't have much you need, they try to keep moving. Akershus is much bigger so they are able to be more relaxed there. The only small bummer is that we didn't see Merida (maybe she was on vacation too!) We did meet Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, and Aurora though!
CRYSTAL PALACE: We are not big on buffets but we enjoyed meeting Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger! TOPOLINO'S: Maybe the best food of the trip, steak and eggs were so good! The character artist costunes are so cute too. It was fun to have an excuse to ride the Skyliner to get here from Beach Club too.
DOCKING BAY 7: The theming is great, but the food wasn't as good as Satuli Canteen IMO.
THE MARKET AT ALE & COMPASS: We had quick service credits we wanted to use up on the last day and we didn't want to leave the resort again, otherwise I would have gone somewhere else, food was meh.
✨EXTRAS✨
-- I originally wanted to book Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for my kids, but it's so expensive/competitive that I decided to didn't want the stress. Instead I booked Have Wand, Will Travel to come to our room and bought dresses from Presley Couture and Only Little Once. I chose Have Wand, Will Travel because they keep character throughout. Fairy Godmother Elyse was amazing and so much fun, my kids loved it and kept talking about it all day!
-- That same morning I ordered a Sammicakes breakfast box with beignets for us to eat. I also ordered a pretend letter from Tiana on Etsy to make it seem like the breakfast came from Tiana. My kids also loved this and had fun telling Tiana about it both times we met her. Sammicakes was good but a LOT of food, sadly we didn't end up eating half of it. It can last you at least 3 days!
-- Matching shirts and ear hats, all from Etsy! So many cool designs there, hardest part is choosing!
-- Got my kids a pin trading lanyard with some pins, they loooooved pin trading! It was like free souvenirs.
🧳PACKING🧳
-- Things the Internet Told Me to Pack That I Needed: Scissors, ziploc bags, ibuprofen (kids and adults), garbage bags.
-- Things the Internet Told Me to Pack that I Didn't Need: stainless steel straws (the paper straws are more like cardboard, they really don't break down unless your kid is gnawing on them or something), ponchos (it did rain some most days, but wearing a poncho was almost more miserable than not wearing one, it's so hot and humid to be walking around in a plastic bag! We did better taking shelter and using umbrellas.), wipes (obv you need them if your kid is younger, but mine were older and just never got messy enough to need them.), glow sticks (we never stayed anywhere long enough to use them.) Basically, the less you can get away carrying in the parks, the better. It's annoying to lug stuff around you don't end up needing or using!
🛞STROLLER🛞
-- I know it seems insane that your 5 year old and 9 year old will need a stroller, but mine definitely did. Once I accepted that I was going to have to get one, I tried to make the best of it, and actually got really into decorating it so we could always easily spot it in the sea (the decorations also later made nice wall decor for a gallery of our trip!) The Magic Spotter flag was the best investment, hardly anyone had them so it was easy to instantly spot our stroller anywhere we left it, even if it got moved. That said, I definitely didn't want to spend a lot on a stroller we were really only buying for this one trip, so I got a used Joovy Caboose on Facebook Marketplace for $50. It was very hard to handle with two older kids in it, and even with one it was hard to handle unless the kid was in the back seat. So we basically used it like a single stroller, glad I didn't spend a lot on it since it was so hard to drive!
☔WEATHER☔
-- We had mostly great weather, it rained some every day except Magic Kingdom day but it passed within an hour each time. We wore socks with Crocs so that if/when it rained, we could just take our wet socks off and walk in our Crocs, this worked great! Don't trust the weather reports though, two days it wasn't supposed to rain. One day it actually didn't, the other day it did and we had to walk in wet shoes because we didn't wear the Crocs that day. Just figure it might rain any day and be prepared! See above note RE: ponchos being not great and shelter + umbrellas being better. When it didn't rain, It. Was. Hot. 🥵 In the 90s but definitely felt hotter with the humidity making it so sticky. We felt there was plenty of shade at Animal Kingdom and EPCOT, but hardly any at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, which I would say slightly affected how much fun we had on those days comparatively.
Phew! That's about it, let me know if you have any questions!

2024.05.18 20:29 Melior30 Based on my situation, should I attend Georgetown MSF or UCLA MFE? Should I pursue a "traditional" finance role, or a more quantitative one?

I'm completely lost and need lots of guidance. Below is a very detailed background of my academics and career so far, and I would greatly appreciate any guidance that you can provide me. If this post is too long for you to read, please let me know, and I will reply with a much shorter, tl;dr version:
Background: I recently graduated from a state school that is considered to be a "semi-to-non-target" within the financial industry with dual degrees in computer science and finance. Due to depression and personal issues, my grades during my first two years of undergrad were abominable. However, I was able to get my act together and achieve mostly A's during my final 2 years of undergrad, but this was only enough to raise my final cumulative GPA to a lackluster ~3.3/4.0. My extracurriculars aren't impressive, consisting of one internship at a local business, one internship at a small IB/PE firm, one externship at a mid-sized VC firm, and a few entrepreneurial endeavors. I've applied to hundreds of financial firms, from MMs to BBs, and I keep getting rejected, most of the time without even getting an interview. Since graduating in December 2023, I have been unemployed for five months.
Therefore, I have applied to several graduate programs, including various Master of Science in Finance, MSFs, to "reset my GPA" and enhance my prospects in the industry, as well as several Master of Financial Engineering, MFEs, to not only "reset my GPA" and enhance my prospects in the industry, but also immerse myself in the confluence of tech and finance to propel myself into a career in quantitative finance. In my undergraduate education, I obtained dual degrees in finance and computer science but did not receive an education that combined these two disciplines. Just to be clear, I would be happy with any role in the financial industry, whether it be consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or a more quantitative role, but I seem to keep getting rejected everywhere.
I recently took the GMAT Focus, achieving a score of 715 (99th percentile), and the GRE, scoring 337/340 (Q: 170/170, V: 167/170). Regarding the MSF programs I applied to, I was accepted by Georgetown and Villanova, rejected by Vanderbilt, and am awaiting a decision from UT Austin. As for the MFEs, I was turned down by Carnegie Mellon and Berkeley, am waiting to hear from Columbia, and was accepted by UCLA.
Of the schools I've been accepted into, I'm still trying to decide between UCLA's Master of Financial Engineering program and Georgetown's Master of Science in Finance program. My decision hinges on whether I want to follow a more traditional financial industry career path, such as investment banking, private equity, venture capital, consulting, etc., or opt for a more quantitative role. Despite being proficient in programming and holding a CS degree, all my internships have been in finance, and I have yet to apply my CS and quantitative skills in a practical internship setting. Currently, I'm inclined to choose UCLA, and I aspire to become a Quant someday. However, my connections in that sector are limited, and I'm uncertain if I would prefer being a Quant to a traditional finance role.
Based on my situation, should I choose UCLA MFE or Georgetown MSF? UCLA's MFE would provide me with a more technical, quantitative education where I'd learn much more, whereas I probably learned everything in the Georgetown MSF curriculum during my undergraduate studies as a finance major (although one could argue that this would be a reason for choosing Georgetown since I would be more likely to achieve easy A's). Georgetown MSF is remote, while UCLA MFE is in-person. UCLA MFE has a far lower acceptance rate (Georgetown MSF is far easier to get into than Georgetown undergrad, I've heard the former accepts almost everyone). UCLA seems more prestigious. Which of these two schools has a higher placement rate within the financial industry?
At first, UCLA might seem like the obvious choice, but there are two factors that complicate this decision. Firstly, Georgetown is much cheaper. Georgetown is giving me a $40K scholarship, making my total program cost just another $40K. Additionally, the remote option would save me so much money on housing and other expenses. The UCLA program costs $85K in total, and I don't know how much scholarship I will receive yet, but it probably won't be anywhere near as much as Georgetown's. Secondly, although I wouldn't mind living in LA for a temporary 1.5-year program, I would hate to live there long-term. While UCLA might have better placements overall, I believe Georgetown has more placements in NYC than UCLA (correct me if I'm wrong). LA is near the bottom of my list of major US cities I would like to live in long-term, and I would STRONGLY, STRONGLY prefer to reside in NYC.
Secondly, do you think quantitative finance is the right career path for me, or should I pursue a more traditional finance role? If I decide to try to become a Quant, how likely is the UCLA MFE program to get me a Quant role?
Thank you for your time and consideration.

2024.05.18 20:28 Melior30 Based on my situation, should I attend Georgetown MSF or UCLA MFE?

2024.05.18 20:25 flashy_butterfly94 Need a mentor who can help me go through the application process🙂

So I am an international student who is taking her second gap year. In my second gap year, I want to learn how to best self-present myself, and as I am an international who will need a full-ride scholarship, the process is a bit more challenging for me without a mentor.
Since I am a low-income, first-generation college student, I could not afford the help of paid mentorships, and this year, for this reason, I would be really glad if any of you who got accepted to top universities with full-ride scholarships could help me through the journey with your mentoring.
I have several achievements, and currently I run my non-profit organization and have received grant funding as well. I graduated the high school with a gold medal and perfect GPA. I also have summer camp experience with some international programs, and this year, I will be doing Pioneer Academics and Blast AI summer camps with full scholarships.
I applied to colleges for over 2 years now and got several waitlists. I do have experience applying, and I think I should learn how to present myself in the best way.
I need someone with whom I can discuss and share my plans and ideas for this application cycle, and who can potentially help me with making my college list and writing my essays. As a low-income, first generation student, I would really appreciate your help, and I am ready to work to my fullest potential and definitely pay off your hard work and genuine help in the coming future.
If you are someone who might help, please let me know, and I am ready to share more information about my background and all the other information.

2024.05.18 20:19 CuriousAnachronism 24 [M4M] Germany/Europe/Online - Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus

Prologue

Hello and welcome to my post. I will subdivide this into two large parts. One will cover my thoughts, feelings, my hopes and dreams...While the other will tell you the specifics of how I pass the time, what topics interest me, what passions do I posses. I believe that at the end of this leap into my inner world, you dear reader, will have all the necessary information to judge whether we are compatible or not.

Part I
I am writing this in the hopes of finding something that I lack. Lately I have had this feeling, this tinge of melancholy within the dephts of my being, this yearning to find a kindred spirit, another Soul, much like mine, to form a bond with. Perhaps Loneliness is the right word for what is bothering me, but to use it seems to carry with it a connotation of ungratefulness. Ungratefulness for the people that I do have in my life, although none of them, of course, have the connection to me that I seek here.

I have found it increasingly necessary to seek in this Life a sort of purity of thought. What I mean is, I have began to undestand what ideas and concepts are ultimately compatible with my inner most Self, ergo what guidelines I have to follow to feel the most whole. Naturally I have likewise realised what I cannot add to my Self and what I will henceforth reject with all the power that I posses.

With this new context in mind, I now follow on the path of self improvement. I will now begin to mold my Self into my perfected idea of how the Self should be. This is certainly a significant undertaking, one that will not be easy to follow through on but one that I ultimately have to do. To me such context is essential. It is akin to a Guiding Star shining in the night. I will follow this Star for without it I am lost in the vast Darkness.

Looking back at my life, it was suboptimal, especially if one compares the way it molded me to how I will now mold myself. I suppose I must look on with a hint of regret at all that time which one might consider to be lost. Still... I try to stave off such decisively negative interpretations, after all, I have ultimately came to these conclusions. That means that somewhere along the line I had to have picked up on enough of such ideas for them to become so cemented in my consciousness. Well, either that or I was always like this, but in that case I can at least thank my life up to this point for not being able to supress such manifestations of my inner most Self.

To add to the topic of my life, I must admit that not all the battles have yet been won, not all the Demons vanquished, not every Mountain climbed. I want you to keep such things in mind when deciding whether or not to approach me. Many will shy away, I undestand that much, but the pursuit of true Companionship is just another such battle. Having said all that I do believe that being able to overcome hurdles together carries with it a certain appeal. That is to say, what's the fun in joining once the Game is already over?

I don't shy away from such challenges, perhaps to a fault. Certain troubles that I faced in the past carry with them a long shadow over my current health and well being. Still, I intend to change little in this regard other than the proficiency with which I will clash the current of my Will against the cliffs of Life.
Part II
In this part of my post I will tell you about my interests and hobbies, I will try to be thorough, commonality in this regard is rather important to build a relationship
History. I have had an interest in history for almost a decade now, it started back in school and developed from there. Well, now that I think about it one could argue that it started even earlier in my life as I liked watching the odd historic documentary or film aired on television but it wasn't regular back then, I never actively sought it out. I am mostly interested in European history in the period between the 18th-20th century but I sometimes branch out to other time periods and other parts of the world. I watch various channels related to history and read articles and sometimes books. I have recently got a few books on the German revolution of 1848/1849 and a historical magazine on the Thirty Years' War. Besides that I try to visit museums sometimes.
Literature. Especially old novels. I like to immerse myself in the Worlds of these books, I tend to read them while listening to thematically fitting music and take my time with them. One time you are following a troubled Youth in his quest for spiritual understanding of the world, another you see the aged and decrepit Doctor gambling his very Soul on the promises of abtaining satisfaction in earthy pleasures, then again your olfaction notices the most pleasant scent known to man even as the one eminating it has the appearance of a revolting Frog. These and many other stories open up to you once you decide to set foot into the literary World.
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I am currently working intently on strengthening it. I believe that if I continue to apply myself in this regard then I should be able to finally conquer it. What language am I working on? Well, if you were to stack all the major works in it they would be as tall as a house... It is fun to go through different works in multiple languages, the same goes for film, games and such.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Well as recently as I played any major story centric game. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad. The main questline at least. Besides that I tried Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and I might give Deus Ex Manking Divided another spin (since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk when it comes to its aesthetics). Dark Souls is one of my favorite series, I still haven't beaten Elden Ring though. When it came out I wasn't in the right mindset to invest a hundred hours into it, with all those bosses and difficult locations. I think I'll only consider playing it if I am streaming it to someone. I am generally interested in either streaming games or having the person I am talking to stream them to me. To be specific I mean streaming to a single person while being on call. Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games, especially Europa Universalis IV and Heats of Iron IV, I tend to only play single player since I find multiplayer with many people to be rather stressful but on the other hand I have nothing against a co-op game. I'm not the best player though, despite the ammount of hours I have in them. Another great game I would mention would be Dragon's Dogma. A very underrated RPG. I recently beat it again and it was an atmospheric and interesting experience. It is one of those games that feel like they have an endless ammount of depth and constant new secrets to discover.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest in them has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good first season from the new arc of Bleach. Some of my favourite series include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass, Code Geass and Attack on Titan. I wouldn't mind if you were to introduce me to some new series, maybe based on the ones I mentioned. My favourite Manga is Berserk which I still follow, althought I am still not certain on the direction that the new author is taking. I suppose it really is a matter of contention whether a somewhat (or considerably warped) vision is better than an unfinished work. One could argue that a few novels remain unfinished and possess a macabre appeal to them as such.
Music. Classical music has a very special place in my heart. A few of my favourite pieces would be: Clair de Lune, Nocturne Op. 9 No.2, Devil's Trill Sonata, Danse Macabre, Valse Sentimentale, Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: II. Alegreto (by Beethoven) and Suite from Swan Lake, Op. 20a: I. Scene. Moderato. There are more but these ones always invoke something in me when I listen to them. Besides Classical I also enjoy listening to Synthwave, old Western pop and J-pop, both modern and from the 20th century.
Esotericism. I am interested in things spiritual, mystical, magical and esoteric. I have read religios texts, magical grimoires, introductions to various schools of thought. It is interesting to me.
Epilogue
Hopefully I was able to cast the spotlight upon my inner World in a clear and unequivocal manner. I feel the need to add to the aforementioned that I am rather introverted, which means that I tend to dislike large social gatherings. I managed to condition myself to be able to endure the presense of large groups of people but it isn't something that I would seek out in most cases. Besides that I am neurodivergent and suffer from certain issues with mental health. I have to take medication to keep myself under control. They work well enough but certain days are harder than others. I respect the struggle that others have with mental health but in the context of a relationship I have my limits, no one with BDP for instance. I am also not looking for anything casual. I understand than one cannot demand depth and meaning from a conversation with an absolute stranger, that is akin to trying to build a sand castle right before the waves strike but I ask at least that you enter with a mindset that this might become something of significance. I also do want to say that I am completely Monogamous. My preference? The sickly, pale, intellectual who watches rain droplets slide down the window in Autumn. Lastly, if I enjoy the company of a person I tend to not want to let them go.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a good day. I ask that you send a DM instead of a chat and that you give the English translation of my title as your own.
Goodbye...Or perhaps untill we meet again

The source control N100 disposable respirator : Baianda EF600 NIOSH N100
Hello again,
Here's a normal sized review, unlike my previous exhaustive posts. It's about a - not commonly spoken - high filtration efficiency respirator. Hope you enjoy it.

Introduction

I'm happy to introduce you the only N100 source control disposable of this shape on the market : The Baianda EF600 respirator.
Disclaimer
I personally chose the models i was interested in, as i thought they may be very good alternatives in respiratory protection. For all my new and old reviews you see here, i pay for the service/logistics/products. The only exception was Uniqon. Uniqon back in the day, volunteered to send me the samples, when i asked for distributors to purchase their products. Since that company mainly supplied hospitals/industries and didn't participate in the consumer business, it was impossible to find them online. For the Baianda respirators, i paid for the two masks + shipping fees + customs + vat. Τhis is an unbiased review, but from the perspective of a mask enthusiast.

Pricing and similar models

I purchased both N100 and KN100 disposables for 9.83$ each. Prices found in China and US, usually range for 18$-25$, for unknown reasons. Maybe, those were the 2020 marked up prices. There's also a Baianda OEM N100 disposable, the Parcil Safety DR04 N100. Similar disposable respirators from 3M, such as the 8233 N100, 8293 P100 and 8835+ ffp3 are listed equally high at ~10$. Many brands carry the same shape in different grades. For example, the Jinfuyu (JFY) 4301 P100 and a few more.
The competitors

Hands On

Unlike the 3M equivalents, the Baianda N100/KN100 respirators have already assembled the adjustable straps. Therefore, the product is ready for use, without wasting any time. The N100 version has the LOT number printed on the mask and the KN100 alternative the LA China sticker, that means the mask can be used by Chinese enterprises. The large external nose wire isn't as 'beefy' as it looks. It's easily bendable, but it doesn't play a major part, as the whole sealing job is done by the 'sticky' gasket. The inner gasket seals great around the face and closes any gaps, preventing any leakage. Companies that have similar 'sticky' gaskets, such as 3M, Makrite and others, will have an advantage fitting many different faces and providing high fit factors.
https://preview.redd.it/9u9drecn811d1.jpg?width=3993&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=04bd8ad27a0af01dc575d7eb6c4be50343116f8e
N100 EF600
The breathing resistance is - of course - higher than the common N95/KN95/ffp2 respirators, but the construction of the mask somehow prevents a heat built-up on the inside. This respirator is suitable in specific industrial and healthcare settings, for workers who have to deal with very high particle concentrations and at the same time the source control is important.
Cleaning the gasket and readjusting the super wide straps if necessary, may 'unofficially' make the mask reusable. Using the Baianda multiple times for short periods will likely justify it's price and purpose on a consumer perspective.
Unfortunately, i haven't used any of the similar competitors from 3M yet to compare the size, fit and comfort. One thing's for sure, there's no unvalved alternative for this shape and grade, as far as i know.
The inner gasket
Pros
- Provides the ultimate protection in disposable respirators, if it fits.
- The only source control disposable at this grade (N100).
- The sticky gasket used by Baianda, similar to other companies is something like a 'cheat', in a good way, to achieve a nearly guarantee seal on adult faces.
- Even if the respirator is non reusable, under certain conditions and after cleaning the gasket, it can be reused. The wide headstraps will remain tight after use.

Cons
- Price is very high on this respirator and this also applies to it's rivals.
- Accessibility is another issue, as there is limited availability in the US and only found in super high prices. The KN100 version in China was available at the JD platform, on their official Baianda store, similarly priced at ~ 18$ , but out of stock.
- Pressure drop in top grade disposables is higher than normal consumer grades and the EF-600 is not an exception.
- The problem with sticky gaskets is that they can become sweaty in hot weather. A big sealing advantage may result in some discomfort on the long term for this kind of shape, under certain circumstances.
The big nose wire

Fit Test Results

I was curious getting the Baianda respirator, for the fact that i get excellent results in disposables with sticky gaskets. Most of the time, regardless of mask shape, i have side leaks on the right side of my cheek and less often around the nose, usually on small/medium sizes. My face is on the large size, therefore, for most of the adult disposables , i pass the fit tests, if the dimensions are right. A correct size is more vital for the perfect seal, regardless the shape of the mask to pass a fit test, at least for my face.
The LOT of the respirator indicates that it was produced during 2020 and the expiration date on the package is on 8/2025.The overall fit factor for the N100 models was 8127 under the osha protocol. I didn't want to sacrifice a fit test for the KN100 model, since it looked identical from the outside. Here are the detailed results for the EF-600:
Exercise / Μodel Baianda EF600 N100
Normal Breathing 17171
Deep breathing 3821
Head Side to Side 26693
Head Up and Down 53906
Talking 3493
Grimace Excl. -
Bending over 7383
Normal breathing 18430
Overall ff 8127

Conclusion

Baianda is a serious company that mainly focuses in products for professionals on the industrial and healthcare safety. No coincidence NIOSH has given to them the N100 certification. Let's hope they can expand more in disposable respirators

2024.05.18 20:15 Prior-Suggestion8644 Asm details

Hey, I have experience at Zaxbys as an assistant manager and am currently interviewing for a general manager position. I saw Canes opening for restaurant manager at 22$ and assistant manager at salary. Figure I applies there since the menu looks identical to Zaxbys, so it has to be fairly similar and easy. I understand how to do temp checks, walk-throughs, inventory counts in the morning and afternoon, and closing. Steri tech check-off list, safe count, drawer count/reset, training new members, leading—my personal favorite being hands-on, especially when needed, like rushes, breaks, and short staff. Personally good with learning and wanting to learn more while having great speed of service for our drive-through times, boh and foh, prepping our meats for shifts. So with all that, I want to know: Am I suitable for the assistant manager position at Canes? Or is there more I need to learn? Should I start as a restaurant manager? Well, assuming I get an interview for either one and assuming they move forward with me. I would like feedback from managers or cooks who have been here for a for a long

2024.05.18 20:15 Ahmed_Reda93 <> Inquire about registration

Hello Everyone!
I'm a newly admitted international grad student, and I need to pay my tuition so I can finally submit my study permit application!
To the best of my knowledge, tuition fee payment won't be initiated until I complete my course registration. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)
I tried emailing the civil grad department (civilgradapps@ualberta.ca - please let me know if that is the correct one!) to ask about the courses I should register for or whom I should contact to inquire about that. But I haven't received any reply yet!
All I can find online is a brochure from Fall 2023 stating the recommended courses to register for. Thus, I'm thinking about registering for these courses so I can pay my tuition fees and apply for a study permit, and then I can add or drop courses that need to be changed after the department replies.
Is that feasible? Or am I going to get stuck with these courses? And is there anything I should watch out for while doing this?
Thank you!!

2024.05.18 20:10 SubjectPea7854 Omaha

Omaha
The PRELIMS: delivered on a whole other level. No debate needed for the best prelims on the year so far… Omaha takes that MORROW stood out of the bunch with slick movement and a chin! Only to end it with some power. He will be back !!! PERALTA has not had an easy schedule and MEYERS looked decent his last fight. The body shots this fight were beautiful, got him a win. I believe he’s a 7/8th slot guy at best in the division and he can do damage against some gatekeepers. MAIN CARD: STRYDOM VS ROBERTS, Gator brought some good luck to the corner of Strydom! Worked well against Robert’s but Robert’s walked through everything. Robert’s stock goes up and as well Strydom. I think a Trevor Loken is a great matchup for Strydom next. Someone in that toughness department. WILSON VS IFEKANDU: was the only average fight that took place. P Town has been on a tough skid… Back 2 back losses. He tries to be a pressure fighter and falls short much of the time. You do have to bring both these guys back eventually. BRAUN VS MCINTOSH: Cruiserweight has been missing a spark this whole year. Easily one of the better fights in the division. Both guys ate tough shots. Braun seemed gassed out but his chin held him from a barrage of punches. Braun possesses really nice power. Mcintosh is a guy I see as your 7/8 slot guy in the division. Pretty quick for his size. He has to come back and be in the mix again. Braun vs Tomahawk Townsel is a fight I’d make pronto. Braun needs to be seriously tested cause he’s got potential to enter the rankings. Good fight. FOTN… ODB vs ROBERTS: I should be putting FOTY or throwing it in the discussion. ODB just told us the old man has the best chin in the division. Outside of Soto idk if anyone can get rocked and stand better than Taylor. Bobby has some power… I will say his performance wasn’t enough for me to think he has much to give the higher ranked guys but he has the will to hang and survive with the bigger names. 6-2 for him is great. I think that Angelcor fight needs to happen still, Taylor’s next fight should be that. Roberts stock goes up and man that lil dude can rock a boat. Robert’s vs Lloyd Mix would be a banger. I think we need him back quicker than 3 years. Top 5 fight in my book so far on the year. What a return for both these guys. GROSU VS MARTINEZ : no one has a more awkward stance than Grosu, it works. Guy has a great reach and it compliments his power. Listen we knew this wasn’t going to end well for Alonzo. 3-0 but his record was padded with lesser talent. Grosu moves to 4-3 and only fought the best. I’d like to see Grosu vs Cam Van Camp, just one more middle of the road guy before we throw Grosu to some elite talent. CO- Main - HOLLOWAY VS COCHRANE: Wow! Dakota has power. Middleweight division power puncher has been king for Mundell but we have a discussion now on who owns that title. 3 KO’s in a row and both opponents looked severely hurt. Cutter lost his sinus function from that jab last year and Holloway could have broke his orbital. KO of the year Candidate… What to do with Dakota? I say you ice him until Redneck is done with his dance and if Perry Vs Redneck doesn’t happen. I think an early next year title fight makes sense. Dakota has solid resume and better of the bunch in this division. He would be a test for redneck. Holloway has more to give but he’ll be out for minute. Him vs Ricci would b slick… He needs a win or he’s in a tough spot. MAIN EVENT: PAGUE VS SNAKE I Called 🐍 for the win. Broken jaw and the rest is history. Man has some reach, style similar to Camozzi in the way they fight. Clinch Warfare is going to help him fight a guy like Trout. Snakes resume is good. Knocked out pressure fighters, cleaned house on the slick fighters in Pague and Brito. That’s a real record. 25’ Title fight makes sense for Snake and Trout. As for Pague I think we don’t see him again this year. Folks that jaw injury was brutal.
My conclusion: Top 3 card of the year for me. Drawed 2 title contenders . Answered questions. Blood and sweat. Great card.

2024.05.18 20:09 Illustrious_Dirt_147 To my ex who blamed it all on me…

They say hindsight is 20/20. As I come from the fog of depression and post-BU guilt, I’m starting to see my ex for the person she is/was. There were a lot of things she said that I internalized heavily and had been ruminating on for a long time. But now, I’m able to sort out my own thoughts, advocate for myself, and working on building myself up again.
“We don’t see each other enough. It feels like we’re in two different cities.”
Yeah, I’ll take the fall for this one. I hadn’t moved out of my parents’ place and you were out on your own. You had built a home for yourself and I didn’t want to be the bummy boyfriend who hung around your place all the time. I was also afraid you’d get bored of me.
“My friends think you hate them.”
That says more about them than me, considering we only met once. I was always quiet. I don’t ice people out, but I don’t force conversation either. I like to read the room and go from there. I thought you knew that.
“You’re afraid of intimacy.”
When I tried to be intimate, you shut me out. You let me know my place. You told me how you weren’t big on physical touch. How rare it was for you to hug the people in your life. Any time I did get a hug from you, it was hard to appreciate it. It felt like you were doing it because I liked it, not because you wanted to. I would tell you how sweet you were and you’d say you weren’t. I told you I loved you first. You told me you weren’t ready to say it back. I tried to help you do your house chores. There’s intimacy in the little things. The boring parts. You insisted that you wanted to do it by yourself. So with that, I kept my distance. If I can’t be emotionally intimate with you, then how can I be physically intimate with you? And by that point, I was tired. Not emotionally checked out, but just…tired. I spoke so much good and life into you trying to get you out of your shell. By the time you finally came out of it, I was in a relationship with your shell. Not you.
“You weren’t in a place to give me what I needed from a relationship.”
I have cooked for you. Taken you out. Helped you move. Made sure I took the trash out when I left. Rubbed your feet after a long day. There’s nothing that I couldn’t have given you with enough time, effort, and grace.
“It feels like you’re afraid to be your full authentic self with me.”
Well, you ghosted me the first time we talked. You playfully talked smack to me, and I playfully returned the same energy. When I asked you why you ghosted me, you told me you didn’t think I was going to be someone who respected and valued you. I may have changed your mind about me, but you didn’t change my mind about you. On our first date, I told you I was scared that you were just going to leave when you went to the bathroom and you laughed it off. You sure showed me how accepting you were of me. Worse than that, you showed me how easy it was for you to leave. You showed me that I wasn’t safe there.
“You always need a ‘green light.’”
With you, yeah. I do. I consider you. For everything. When we’re together, I want you to be as happy as possible. Whether it be a date, a vacation, or just sitting in silence. The most work you had to do was saying the word. “You can if you want” doesn’t cut it. SHOW AND TELL ME THAT YOU WANT ME THERE AND THAT YOU WANT TO BE THERE.
“I feel like I can’t be myself with you. Like I always have to be happy or watching your feelings.”
This ties into the previous point. You can be whoever you want when you’re with me. You’re allowed to have bad days. What you’re not allowed to do is take those bad days out on me. I’m sensitive, yes. But not fragile. I just wish you weren’t so harsh when you talked to me.
“I see your efforts and I see you trying. This is the communication I had been looking for. I’m just having a hard time trusting it.”
I can’t make you trust or believe in this. I know it doesn’t happen overnight. But I am asking you to give some effort while we work this out.
“I feel like I can’t be in my feminine energy with you.”
I…I don’t even know what that means, I’m not gonna lie. I’ll be the asshole and say that sounds like nonsense.
“You come off as timid and it gives scared little boy energy.”
How constructive. If there’s one way to achieve intimacy, it’s through belittlement.
“I’ll be fine with or without you.”
This one hurts on so many levels. I know you will. I would, too. But I DON’T want to do this without you. It also shows me how much you value and care for me. I should have seen that sooner. But if that’s how you feel, go ahead. Be without me.

2024.05.18 20:07 Signal_Expression730 Illumination Pictures Theory

I already published this theory a year ago, and now I'm republishing it because I understood how Reddit works better and where to publish my theories or ideas.
Moving on to the theory, it's based on the Pixar theory, about how all movies are in the same world, but in the case of Illumination Pictures, there's a lot more evidence, and most of it is in the movie Pets. In the park scene of the film, Gru appears in a cameo passing by with Kyle, which confirms that the two franchises are in the same world. Taking these two films as a basis, then we can say that the world of Illumination is a normal world, with a human society and animals cannot talk to humans but talk to each other, which also suggests that films like Migration and Hop, since there is a human society and, except for easter bunnies and easter chicks, animals can't talk.
Now, this comes into contradiction with other films produced by Illumination, such as Lorax and Sing, in the first they present us with a society without plants but which is slowly recovering, and in the second a society of anthropomorphic animals.
The answer is always given to us in Pets. When Kevin Hart's character drives the bus, you can see that there is a poster for "Sing" behind it, which tells us that it is a movie within that world, as is possibly the Lorax. I think this can also be applied to other films for which the rights do not belong to Illumination, but are lent by third parties, such as Doctor Seuss' wife or Nintendo.
To resume, here is the thing: There is a real world with a timeline (Minions in 1968, Minions 2 in 1976, Despicable Me in 2010, Hop in 2011, Despicable Me 2 in 2013, Pets in 2016, Despicable Me 3 in 2017, Pets 2 in 2019, Migration in 2023 and Despicable Me 4 in 2024) and there are some films that are films in this world (Lorax, The Grinch, Sing and Super Mario)
