I am working on constructing a playlist of works by 366 notable contemporary composers to help increase awareness of the vibrancy of art music in the 21st century. I am interested in focusing on composers who have published notable works since 1980. According to my Spotify, I have about 650 composers that fit this category, so I'm trying to trim it down to the major players. Here's the first 100 on the shortlist -- who would you add?

2021.03.29 13:31 OhYouForgotMyName Tom Rune wanted to go fishing in July 2017. Since, no one has heard from him.

This disapperance happened in Norway, July 2017.
"Here is a brand new fishing rod and several unused fishing hooks. My son never went fishing. I'm sure he disappeared against his will." Mother Bente Hagen Severinsen (57) is fighting back tears. For three years she and her family tried to find out what happened to their son Tom Rune Hagen. "It consumes all my energy not to know what has happened to my own son. I do not get peace until I get an answer. I miss him - every single day", says Bente.
Tom Rune has been missing since July 30, 2017. A few days before, he had told he was going on a fishing trip. But the family don't think Tom Rune came to the mountain lake he usually fished in - and which he enjoyed spending the night at. "We will probably never see him again. It's cruel, but I'm sure he disappeared against his will", Bente says. She is sitting on the porch in front of the house that Tom Rune had, in small town Uvdal in Numedal.

His home is untouched. There is still a box of stew on the microwave. "I had hoped that one day I would come and see that the box was gone - and that it was Tom Rune who had eaten it…"

Tom Rune and his sister Randi celebrated Christmas together in 2016, the year before he disappeared. He was a good big brother.
The disappearance has left deep traces both in the family and in the small town. "I think about it around the clock, what may have happened. At times, I have barely been able to stand on my feet", says mum Bente.
Tom Rune occasionally hung out in what is described as "a questionable group". The family was aware of his challenges with alcohol and other drugs. "He made some stupid choices, which literally punished him. But over the last year, he seemed happier than ever. I felt that he was about to change course in life. It made me happy", says his younger sister Randi Hagen (27).
She was sure that her brother would come home well before her birthday, August 7th. He always thought it was great to gather the family on the occasion of the day. Something mysterious has happened. Both mom and grandma tried to call him several times around August 4th and 5th, without getting an answer. "I wanted to say that I wanted to treat him to new clothes - but did not get an answer on my mobile", Bente says. Shortly after his birthday, he was reported missing, and the local police were called.

Mother Bente and daughter Randi have engaged private investigator Finn Abrahamsen. "This could just as easily be a murder case as a disappearance", says the former police chief.
"It turned out that Tom Rune had been to a party with some friends on the evening of July 29, not very far from his house. The last sighting of him was recorded the night of July 30 by those who were at the party. All tracks end here", Randi states. The family is sure that Tom Rune never traveled to the mountains. In his house, a new fishing rod stood completely untouched. Bank statement shows that this was bought a week and a half before he disappeared - at the same time as he told his sister that he was going on a fishing trip. "For an inexplicable reason, he must have changed his plans - something mysterious has happened", Randi believes.
They searched for him without findings. The family also engaged "psychic" Michael Winger. He has been in the area to assist the family in the search for the missing person. "Winger explained that he imagines that Tom Rune got into the front of a car, and that there was one person sitting next to him and one behind. He sees the use of a knife, and further that Tom Rune is under a power pole. He thinks it is an area with a lot of rock that does not lie there naturally. It was a lot, even completely grotesque, to hear what Winger envisioned", says Randi. The family and search crews have tried to locate both the car and the power pole, without any success. "The uncertainty gnaws at us. It's awful not to know", mum Bente repeats.
"This is not an obvious disappearance case. I think the most likely is that there are three theories about what happened to Tom Rune. He has either been the victim of an accident, he has taken his own life or he has been the victim of a criminal act. Lately, it is clear that Tom Rune may have been killed, and that is just as likely as the other theories", says Finn to Se og Hør.
Tom Rune's sister fears his brother was killed. "I'm pretty sure someone caused his death - either on purpose or by accident", the sister says. Bente shares her daughter's opinion. "I feel that there are some in the town who know more than they want to tell. None of us are judges, we just want to know what has happened", says Bente.
"I have looked at the approximately 60 witness interviews that were conducted. What strikes me is that there are remarkably few or no follow-up questions to what the witnesses explain. I perceive this as a weakness in the investigation, as it could have contributed to a development in the case. The tactical investigation appears to be deficient", says Finn.
"Tom Rune had tough times, but to me he was the kind and caring big brother. I miss sharing thoughts and experiences with him. I miss his bear hugs - and not least the messages on my phone that often said "Love you, sister". He had a big heart for everyone around him", says Randi. She hopes soon she can have certainty and peace.
"After I had children, Tom Rune got more involved. He was at the baptism of my youngest daughter, and enjoyed playing with my two children. He knew he was always welcome to us. My only requirement was that he be drug-free. Tom Rune respected that, and I am proud of that on his behalf", says Randi before she adds: Tom Rune was not "just" someone who had lived a hard life. He had both good and bad qualities, just like the rest of us. Knowing what has happened will give us peace of mind…

华为5G在全球引爆安全担忧，但在法罗群岛，一个位于北大西洋的丹麦王国的海外自治领地，人们似乎对此并不在意，直到近日一份录音曝光中共胁迫言行，让这个小岛和华为成了全球关注点。
一份秘密录音文件显示，中共驻丹麦大使冯铁（Feng Tie）警告法罗群岛（Færøerne，英文Faroe Island）总理巴德尔·尼尔森（Bárður Nielsen），如果法罗群岛不与华为签订5G网络协议，就没有可能与中国签订自由贸易协议。当地法院还发出禁令，禁止当地电视台Kringvarp Føroya将该录音内容进行曝光。
此事引爆丹麦社会舆论，丹麦政要纷纷发声，要求保护法罗群岛的利益和整个丹麦王国的安全。丹麦国家媒体丹麦电台（DR）已掌握了录音内容，并公布了完整的录音内容。
媒体被禁曝光秘密录音
丹麦媒体报导，12月2日，法罗群岛的一名法官在当地晚间新闻播放前22分钟，对当地电视台Kringvarp Føroya的一段录音发出禁止播放的命令。
这段录音发生在11月15日，当时法罗群岛电视台Kringvarp Føroya准备采访商务部长赫尔吉·亚伯拉罕森（Helgi Abrahamsen），对中共大使冯铁在11月11日与总理巴德尔·尼尔森的会谈进行报导。在正式采访前，部长就该会谈咨询了他的部门主管赫列文·约恩森（Herálvur Joensen），两人进行了为时一分钟的对话。由于当时话筒没有关闭，所以电视台将咨询内容意外地进行了录音。

关于华为5G问题，雅各布森也曾在一年前表示：“所有的一切，在未来都会连接到5G网路上，我们担心的是，提供这样设备的国家——中国（中共）控制着开关。”
雅各布森对中共军队的超限战很有研究，他此前曾表示，中共常常会强调保持良好关系，但这种关系表面上彼此尊重，而实际上建立在利益和权力的基础上。他曾说：“这也不是一种对等关系，而是霸权和小国的关系。只要丹麦保持‘务实’，中共就愿意做生意。”
丹麦政要：将其轰出门外
虽然此事发生在法罗群岛，但因为法罗群岛是属于丹麦王国的成员，国防和外交事务由丹麦负责，因此事件一曝光，就引来丹麦社会的震动。丹麦国会外交政策委员会于12月12日就此事进行了讨论。
丹麦前首相拉尔斯·洛克·拉斯穆森（Lars Løkke Rasmussen）是外交政策委员会的成员，他在会后向媒体表示：“我们必须将此公布于众，我们生活在一个商业政策和相互服务会夹带着其它暗示的世界中。”他指出，一些国家不遵守知识产权规定，还会带来安全问题。

美国大使：不要将控制权拱手相让
但对于中共总是贸易和政治混为一谈，并非所有人都赞同艾斯博森。丹麦的外交大臣耶普‧寇夫德（Jeppe Kofod）还是把华为当作普通供应商来处理。他在写给丹麦电台的信件中说：“对我来说很重要的是，我想指出，电信领域是自治领域。5G供应商的选择由法罗群岛自主决定。”
格陵兰作家纳雅‧绿恩娥（Nauja Lynge）反驳了寇夫德外交大臣的说辞，她认为，责任并不在法罗群岛，这是国家安全政策问题。她认为，丹麦政府一次又一次将责任推卸给法罗群岛和格陵兰政府自行解决，这将引起广泛的不满。她说：“从不断壮大的丹麦王国的角度来看，这样的外交言辞没有智慧。”

奥尔堡大学（Aalborg Universitet）丹麦王国研究员武瑞克·普冉姆·盖德（Ulrik Pram Gad）表示，美国已经采取行动，不再通过哥本哈根，而直接与法罗群岛和格陵兰对话。因为华为事件对丹麦王国来说极度敏感，挑战在于区分贸易与政治问题。如果是贸易问题，这将由法罗群岛自治决定，如果关系到丹麦王国的安全问题，这需要丹麦政府出面处理。

Gipsy’s Acre was a truly beautiful upland site with views out to sea – and in Michael Rogers it stirred a child-like fantasy. There, amongst the dark fir trees, he planned to build a house, find a girl and live happily ever after. Yet, as he left the village, a shadow of menace hung over the land. For this was the place where accidents happened. Perhaps Michael should have heeded the locals’ warnings: ‘There’s no luck for them as meddles with Gipsy’s Acre.’ Michael Rogers is a man who is about to learn the true meaning of the old saying ‘In my end is my beginning.’
The title Endless Night was taken from William Blake’s Auguries of Innocence and describes Christie’s favourite theme in the novel: a “twisted” character, who always chooses evil over good.
Christie finished Endless Night in six weeks, as opposed to the three-four months that most of her other novels took. Despite being in her seventies while writing it, she told an interviewer that being Michael, the twenty-something narrator, “wasn’t difficult. After all, you hear people like him talking all the time.”
The book is dedicated to Christie's relative "Nora Prichard [paternal grandmother of Mathew, Christie's only grandson] from whom I first heard the legend of Gipsy's Acre." Gipsy's Acre was a field on the Welsh moors.

Main adaptations (from Wikipedia)

Movie adaptation: A 1972 film was made, starring Hayley Mills, Britt Ekland, Per Oscarsson, Hywel Bennett and George Sanders (who committed suicide before the film's release). Christie reportedly had some reservations about the use of sex scenes to enliven the plot (there is only one in the finished film, with very brief nudity from Ms Ekland).
Radio adaptation: Endless Night was presented as a one-hour radio play in the Saturday Theatre strand on BBC Radio 4 on 30 August 2008 at 2.30 pm. The play's recording took place at Broadcasting House and had an original score composed by Nicolai Abrahamsen.
Graphic novel adaptation: Endless Night was released by HarperCollins as a graphic novel adaptation on 3 November 2008, adapted by François Rivière and illustrated by Frank Leclercq.
TV adaptation: Although the book did not feature Miss Marple, it is part of the sixth series of Agatha Christie's Marple, starring Julia McKenzie. It aired first on Argentina's Film&Arts on Wednesday 20 November, Australia's ABC on Sunday 22 December 2013, and aired on ITV on Sunday 29 December 2013. This adaptation by Kevin Elyot remains fairly faithful to the book, with few changes like the addition of Miss Marple.
