Pitbike engine problem

Pitbike engine problem
Soo last week i got this pitbike and have been working on it fixing the brakes, wheels and giving it a full maintenance. It still runs rough and I'm lost. Cold start without choke was little high, but 5 mind later idle seems lower. (?) Reving it quick almost stalls it (it stalled before maintenance) Keeping revs stable does not make it run steady (see video) And on top of all this, whilst "driving" and slowing down, it stalls. The engine is 125cc Skyteam Zongshen, with 26mm Keihin carburator. Changing the idle and mix screws seem to have varying effects = nothing you do makes sense. I cleaned the carburator and checked that the timing is right, but the problem persist. If anyone can help, I would be very happy. PS. I have a feeling the carb is not working as it should

2024.05.11 22:46 Goos_designer Help, No idle off choke

I have a 79 ct90 that I’ve been trying to fix a problem on for a couple months now. Currently it runs well and is quite quick with any amount of choke turned on, but as soon as the choke is fully closed, there is little power. I have fixed all air leaks on and after the carb, adjusted valves, points, the battery is even still good. For awhile I was using the original keihin carb, but recently I bought a new eBay carb and when I tested it, nothing changed! I also tried new and different sized jets and keeping the air filter off. I’m thinking it must be an ai fuel problem, but I can’t pinpoint it. Any help or suggestions are appreciated, thank you

2024.05.11 06:49 kxrider85 Is this a genuine Keihin carb?

Looking to get a 38mm carb for my ktm 250sx. Is this listing real? I'm confused because the OEM price is more like $400, and most of the used Keihin carburetors online are more like $250-$300. I also found this amazon listing for the 38mm Keihin. The images look pretty similar and the reviews seem to affirm its genuine, but we can't see the amazon price anymore.
Also, I noticed there are these "OEM" jetting kits on ebay. It looks like the jets have Keihin's logo and everything. However, I'm used to paying like $10 per jet from motosport.com's OEM store.
i.e. are these prices too good to be true?
I'm new to upgrading carburetor stuff, so I'm just trying to understand how cautious I should be of potential fakes.

Place your bids! How old do we think this shit is??? Lol
Recently purchased a 1975 Honda CB200T in great condition, but am doing some stuff to bring her back to as close as I can to the day she rolled off the assembly line! Tank is off getting cleaned and lined, put the OEM Keihin carbs on from eBay, and figured may as well do the oil and spark plugs. Breaker bar I had to use to get this bad boy off was about 5’ long! Lord knows if this oil has even been changed lmao

2018 KTM 300 XCW Good deal?
I’m looking at buying a KTM 300 XCW. I’ve been messaging this guy and he said he would take 5,000 for it. He mentioned the electric start doesn’t work sometimes but the kick does every time. He replaced the battery with a generic one, but that didn’t do the trick. Think this is a solid deal? Or hold out. I’m just a bit concerned with the electrical issue. I hate those lol.

VTR250 carb throttle not fully closing
Hey all, would appreciate some pointers
VTR250, 2000, twin carb (Keihin VD10s),
I’ve just overhauled the bike… new battery, new (from scrapper) carb, fixed up all electrics, chain sprocket etc.
The one remaining residual issue is that the throttle doesn’t return to fully closed and rest on the idle speed screw. Not a throttle cable issue as even when they’re disconnected it doesn’t return to closed. The symptom is that revs don’t return nicely to idle, actual riding/acceleration not affected.
The carb has just been sonic cleaned, so all dirt/crud has been cleaned out.
Any tips? I checked the butterfly valves and throat in the carby - nothing uneven causing catching… I could chuck a heavy spring on it but seems unnecessary?
Cheers

2024.04.27 16:01 Pecek Engine revs up but lacks power for a couple of seconds, why?

DRZ400E, with a Keihin FCR39 carb(the older slant, not the MX)
So basically what happens is when I give a considerable amount of throttle the engine revs up, but it lacks power for like 2-3 seconds, it's well above 6500RPM, it screams, but it barely accelerates - the throttle response is spot on, it never bogs. If I increase the throttle a lot more gently then it's fine I suppose(hard to tell though).

I'm thinking it could be the accelerator pump, but based on the symptoms is it too much or not enough fuel?

Happy Friday, CB Fam! Wish me luck replacing carbs with OEM Keihin ones! Any tips/videos are welcome!
So, I know Common Motor has some pretty good videos on this and I’m going to start there! I’m mainly concerned with getting the distance correct on the threaded piece connecting the choke and then making sure I have the correct float height. I know it’s supposed to be at 21mm, but from what points and how do I adjust them? I know I’ve posted a few times the last couple days, but you guys have been great. Much appreciated! Cheers

Question for you experts! Best Zinc Additive? (& oil preferences)
I just got a beautiful 1975 Honda CB200T and am in the process of bringing it fully back. Keihin carbs showing up tomorrow, so wish me luck! I’m considering the Rislone Zinc ADDP or the Lucas Zinc Additive, unless you all use something else! Planning on using the conventional Valvoline 10W-40, but also open to what you all say works best!

Is that carb setup normal?
Hey guys I saw this in New Zealand at Pukekohe race track. Just trying to figure out what's going on here. I do belive it's an S1 (late 90s). I think those are Keihin twin carbs.

2024.04.14 18:26 TheGoatEyedConfused Dumb mistake

I just wanted to share my dumbass mistake.
I have a set of Keihin PD41A carbs for my bike and the accelerator pump bowl has a crack in the overflow brass tube. I decided to take it upon myself to disassemble it and try to get some solder in there.
Well, come to realize there is a tiny check ball that is held in with a tiny spring and piece of what looks like square plastic that was pressed in to hold it together.
You can probably guess what happened next..I used a propane torch to heat the tube, got the solder on and the heat melted the plastic square fitting.
Now I'm screwed and had to order a whole set of used carbs off ebay for parts. Cost me 200 bucks.
On the bright side, I have more parts! I only hope the accelerator pump bowl doesn't also have a cracked tube...
Don't do what I did...

2024.03.28 09:10 Tomislav_Stanislaus Tech Question: V600c carb acceleration pump springs

Hi folks. The V600c does have a twin Keihin carb. Now each of them has its acceleration pump (bladdemembrane & spring) on the side under a little aluminum cover.
The carb I have cleaned has two different spring lenght. I am a bit curious why they do not have the same lenght. Also I can not say which one had the short/ong one in.
Any advice please! Cheers.

2024.03.26 01:01 wxek Would it be cheaper to repair carb or replace

My carb is broken on my 2003 rm85 it’s pouring out gas meaning the valve is probably stuck or broken. To buy a brand new keihin pe28 it’d be $180 should I take it to a mechanic or buy a new carb instead?

So the carb on my 2003 RM85 broke and now I have to purchase a new one. Stock bike comes with a keihin pe28 but a brand new one is $160-$170 and my budget is $120 what’s a good carb replacement?

2024.03.22 02:55 PerceptionRoutine950 Mods to my TRX400

I just replaced the factory exhaust with a BigGun ES slip on and replaced the problematic Chinese carburetor with a factory Keihin carb. It made a world of a difference. This thing is fast!!!!!
I don’t think it will need to be jetted as the exhaust is not popping.
Next mod nerf bars, pro taper bars and new tires.
Any other moderate mods I can do? I just want a good running, clean looking bike.
Are widening kits worth it? I’ve seen brackets that lower and widen using factory arms. I love the aggressive look they give.
Any input would be greatly appreciated
