2024.05.17 23:40 Mr_Dad_F Blaze & Silver retcon theory

Both from Knuckles:
1) Flames of Disaster easter egg in Knuckles funny ahh. But srsly, they might just retcon Iblis as being a Knuckles villain rather than introduce Silver to do that. Hell, that whole sequence (Wade in Knuckles costume) might be trying to say that that was an actual quest that Knuckles already went on before being introduced in the movies.
2) He got fire hands, Blaze is a pyrokinetic.
EDIT: just wanna say now, I REALLY hope I'm wrong, cus I personally love both these guys, and what they bring, but ultimately, it's up to the writing to make their introductions good (better to have no character with telekinesis and keep the tension in the story rather than introduce em and eliminate all tension; then again, if Star Wars, Control, and others could, Sonic def can šŸ‘)
Bright side if they ultimately aren't introduced:
Knuckles - master emerald guardian, descendant of the echidnas, "natural"/"tribal"/whatever connection with chaos energy
Shadow - living bomb of chaos energy, thus his need for his inhibitor rings, which keep the raw energy at bay; Gerald based his design based off the mural from 3&K depicting classic super Sonic (same quill look, all quills shooting up except for the top one) fighting eggbot/perfect chaos (i don't remember which); "artificial" connection to chaos energy
Sonic - middle man imo
EDIT 2: I should also add, while I DO want šŸŸ£šŸˆ and āšŖļøšŸ, I DO NOT want Memphis Tennessee, specifically him, Iblis, im whatever about. They could retcon him and mephiles needing to reunite to be Solaris (e.g. Iblis just needing the Chaos and Sol Emeralds to be Solaris).

2024.05.17 05:46 Jcorb Dear SEGA; give us proper Sonic & Friends transformations/costumes, and Chao as mag forms

I donā€™t claim to speak for anyone else here. I just know that for me personally, Iā€™ve had a very hard time getting into PSO2, and especially New Genesis.
But if you could run around essentially playing as Sonic (even better with the HUmar outfit from the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure 2), or as Knuckles, I would be over the moon.
Even better, I would LOVE to get some of the various Chao as unlockable Mag forms. Iā€™d honestly love to see a stand alone Chao Garden game, but getting the normal Chao, as well as Hero and Dark versions would be a great place to start. Even cooler would be some of the ā€œspecialā€ Chao forms, like the ā€œLight/Chaos/Angelā€ Chao, or even the Nights Chao.
Just my two cents, but I would absolutely love that. Anything over the goofy looking standard male characters in New Genesis.

2024.05.15 20:18 Anonturmoil Late to the game

(long ADHD ramble) So I'm extremely new to this franchise. I have literally never touched a 2d Metroid game until about a week ago, the only experiences I have with Samus are Metroid prime when I was like 9 and ofcourse every smash brothers game, always thought she was cool being a badass bounty hunter and all(which I've recently learned she apparently wasn't one this whole time???) but 2d dark souls isn't usually my kind of game. I prefer open world games that let me do whatever I want, hopefully with a good plot to tango along with and fighting games. Don't get me wrong, I grew up playing 2d sidescrollers and some of my favorite games ever are still all the classic sonic games but games that make me want to bite my lip off from falling to find the solution to an area puzzle after 2 hours only to discover I had to blow up one random spot or dying from the 50 something enemies that bounce you onto the one goddamn spot that has lava on it? Not usually my cup of tea. I've been a mostly PlayStation shill(still am) all my life and occasionally play Nintendo games like Pokemon, legend of Zelda and Kirby lmao Metroid though just wasn't on my radar. Recently I've had to sell consoles and stuff and I moved so I didn't really have any of my old videogames, decided to download some emulators and alot of old games I never really got to experience or haven't played in forever and my brother recommended I tried Metroid, I basically went "fuck it why not" two weeks later, I've beaten Metroid zero mission, have all the subsequent 2d Metroid games downloaded expect for dread obviously and can literally not stop playing them. God do these games raise my blood pressure and I spend a good 50 minutes cussing out each and every boss(seriously fuck you mother brain and your shitty homing plasma and dumbass placed lava) but I fucking LOVE them. I love the atmosphere and the way the world builds it's violent isolation as you go on, I love how stronger and more capable I become as Samus the more I venture forward. I love the music, the sound affects. Nothing is crispier to me than a perfectly accidentally timed charge beam blowing away some bug flying at you 60mph. Metroid zero mission was about the most frustrating game I've played in probably years and I loved every second of it. I've tested and played a little of all the others but I'm forcing myself to go in chronological order so Samus returns is the one I'm playing now and yes, it's am2r although I recently got the 3ds one too, leaving that for last though because I feel like I'll be really satisfied playing through all the sprite games first and then landing on that Metroid dread prototype hd. Either way, I'm just bummed I missed out on this series growing up although part of me feels like if I was any younger, I would've broken my Gameboy or ds trying to play through these damn games LMFAO I always thought Mario 64 and ocarina of time were the biggest pain in the ass Nintendo games and I still to this day absolutely hate Mario 64( I know I just suck at it don't worry) but as I got older I finally learned that I really just have to have some patience and explore for clues in these kinds of games so I think my frontal lobe finally developed enough for me to play Metroid properly. Samus is now one of my favorite characters in a game, I know she doesn't talk much and when she does it's uh "motherly" questionable but man, she's fucking cool as hell. It's like if Boba Fett actually lived up to his costume when he first showed up and not like through extended media. Anyways that's it, if anyone's got any advice on how to maybe smooth my experience that also would be nice lmao

2024.05.13 11:43 RagnarokBegining Just why?

So we know game companies can better their game by listening to their communities. Sometimes it doesn't work but most the time I'd say it does.
So why does Nintendo just not give a f*ck about smash? They've removed good features, added characters no one asked for, and do nothing to fix their characters.
One thing I absolutely loved about sm4sh was being able to rematch the opponent and being able to swap characters. They removed that for elite smash apparently.
I know alot of people hate that they removed casual and for glory but at the same time I understand because there is not point when the same people who will cheese, camp, or just play poorly the entire can just go into for glory and do the same thing.
Smash ultimate dlc... the biggest problem with ultimates roster is the dlc characters. They're a mix of characters that people didn't ask for or wanted. Min min is the biggest example of this. She wasn't asked for, no one wanted her, and she isn't even the main character of ARMS. I'm sure that if they added characters were asking for the game would be loved more.
Every dlc character has a big fan base or a small one. I understand that there was talk about wanting the dlc characters we have, in the game. Anyways I don't ever remember asking for minmin, banjo, plant, Kaz, pythra, and byleth. And... what did they do to characters we actually wanted? F*cringe mii costumes. Biggest disrespect and F U to the smash community. Characters like shantae(I think that's her name) genos, doom guy, dante, knuckles, and bomberman.
I genuinely hope they listen to the community more. I wish they added more characters for other characters that only has one rep. Like sonic, cpt falcon, snake, Megaman, little Mac, and bayo but instead we got more characters from game series that didn't need anymore like daisy, bowser Jr, chrom, lucina, Dr Mario, Rosalina, young link, toon link, dark pit, pichu, and dark Samus.
What major change do you guys think the next game should have?

2024.05.12 13:28 KODubby I don't think The Devil's Chord was meant to be the second episode of the season

So there's a few reasons why I think this episode wasn't meant to be episode two:
  1. When the Doctor takes Ruby back to her time to see the effects of not stopping Maestro he asks "So when is it for you back home? What time are you? June 2024?" and Ruby confirms this saying that it's "June-July". This places this episode 6 or 7 months after The Church on Ruby Road and Space Babies (assuming Ruby wants to stay "in sync" with her time back home). This is a very large time jump between a first and second episode. This episode also airs in May, so it wouldn't make much sense for the Doctor and Ruby to jump to June 2024 instead of May (assuming RTD also wants the audience to stay "in sync" with Ruby's time) unless this episode was due to air in June (the second half of the season).
  2. When the Doctor and Ruby run to the cellar to hide from Maestro, Ruby says "You never hide" meaning that the Doctor and Ruby have spent enough time together, and that Ruby knows the Doctor well enough, that she is able to comment on how hiding is out of character for the Doctor. If this was an adventure set early in Ruby's travels then it's unlikely she'd know the Doctor well enough to make that judgement call.
  3. In this episode the Doctor's sonic is red rather than the blue we saw in Space Babies. No explanation is given to this, we don't even see the blue sonic get destroyed or damaged. If this episode was due to come out later then we might see the blue sonic reappear and get damaged in the next few episodes leading to the Doctor making a new, red version.
  4. Ruby's soul song and the reveal of "the Oldest One" being at the church on the night Ruby was born. While there's nothing about this reveal that means that it couldn't have been done early in the season this does feel more like a mid-late season reveal which might have been meant for episode 5 or 6.
There is a scene at the beginning of the episode where Ruby tells the Doctor that she wants to see the Beatles record their first album in response to the Doctor asking if there was anywhere in time and space she wanted to go. This kind of interaction is pretty common in the early episodes of a new companion's run but is usually asked on their first or second adventure in the Tardis. While not explicitly stated, I think it's implied that this is supposed to be the case for Ruby in this scene although I can't imagine the Doctor waiting 6 months before asking Ruby where she wanted to go. I think this scene could be part of a reshoot done after the decision was made to make The Devil's Chord the second episode. Would be an easy enough reshoot; a short scene of two actors in an already built set where they are wearing costumes we don't see for the rest of the episode.
I can think of two reasons why this episode might have been moved to earlier in the season:
  1. Disney wanted to release the first two episodes at once, similar to other shows they've released, but the original episode 2 (probably Steven Moffat's Boom) was considered to be too serious and would have given the audience members tonal whiplash when watched back to back with Space Babies
  2. The reveals in The Devils Chord about "The Oldest One" and Ruby's identity were deemed to be important plot points that should be set up early on in order to build audience interest in the rest of the season
I hope this is the case because I feel like this episode would have worked a bit better later in the season and if this turns out to be true I'll probably change up the order of episodes of the season on future rewatches. What does everyone else think?

2024.05.11 23:12 BronzeLubermann What campaign is Focus Features planning with Nosferatu? If any?

As a massive fan of Robert Eggers, I've been looking forward to his version of Nosferatu for a long time and am very excited for it to come out this year. However I was also a little surprised to see the release date. I was expecting it to come out in October or November 2024. Instead Focus Features has decided to to release the film on Christmas Day.
Focus Features (and Universal) must have a lot of faith in the film. Releasing it during such a big holiday. Against other massive holiday releases aimed at a wider audience (the Mufasa prequel and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Admittedly it's not the same audience). I understand they could be going for the "feel-bad Christmas movie", seeing something subversive for the holiday. But I like to think that they also believe in the movie itself and are aiming for some Academy Award recognition. Not that movies haven't bombed on Christmas, but regardless of whatever reason, it certainly seems like they have confidence with such a release date.
I am just curious what they could be going for as far as nominations. I can see with the craft Eggers and his team usually bring to their productions that they could be aiming for design awards; Costume, Cinematography, Make-up, Production Design, Score, and Sound. But I also wonder if they'll try and break into the "higher" categories as well. Screenplay, Editing, any acting nominations...maybe even a possible DirectoPicture nod? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
For any skeptics, I get it. It's a midbuget, arthouse genre flick. It's horror. And besides a lone Cinematography nomination for The Lighthouse, Eggers' films have no track record with the Academy. His stuff is also a little weird. But this is only going to be his fourth release. He's been building a fanbase since The Witch. This is his passion project. His second movie with Focus Features. Perhaps they see this as an opportunity to frame this release and this movie as his entrance into more mainstream recognition.
Not that Oscar nods will make me love the movie any more or less when it comes out. If it deserves the nominations, it would be really neat to see Nosferatu receive them. But if the movie is too weird for the voters...well, then I'll probably love it all the more anyway. šŸ˜‚
Anyway, what do you guys think?

2024.05.09 01:37 2Some2Onesdifferent Are these the same things if so, is the unknown character amy or rouge confirmation

I believe they are since the character selection is sonic, tails and shadow, all of which are characters in movie 3, the mystery figure could be knuckles or eggman, but it would be weird to not reveal them, I hope it is amy because if so, we just got one of the best sonic characters in movie 3

2024.05.08 18:58 ContributionMotor109 INSIDER LEAK: The next installment of the "Super Smash Bros." Series has just been confirmed by an anonymous source, and should be announced in December.

Allegedly, the game is a port/remaster of Ultimate, containing around 95 characters in the base game, and after all the DLC around 112. Most stages from previous titles will also return, along with Rayman as a bonus fighter for purchasing Fighters Pass 1. Metal Sonic and Big Boss will be receiving Mii Costumes.

2024.05.08 08:03 JackintheBoxman Hear me outā€¦A Doctor Who themed Park in the DisneylandForward expansion.

As stated above, an entire themed area/park/land based on Doctor Who.
Yes, I know this may sound crazy, but just bear with me.
With the TARDIS suddenly appearing in the Esplanade to promote the new season premiering on Disney Plus, I was inspired to think about what Disneyā€™s Imagineers could do if they decided (however unlikely as it may seem) to bring The Doctor to Anaheim.
Thereā€™s limitless possibilities. I can imagine the main hub is a new UNIT HQ with a military styled outpost much like Avengers Campus or even the Resistance section in Black Spire Outpost. The story is that due to the Daleks messing with Time Travel, there are temporal fluctuations causing different eras of history and even planets to suddenly fall out of sync. UNIT has determined that The Doctor (all 15 incarnations of him), will require the help of us, his newest companions, to repair the damage to time.
If you played the Lego Dimensions game, the Doctor Who world had a limited but sprawling map of different planets, years and locations. This new park can be like that with places like Skaro, Victorian London, even Gallifrey. The logistics of how Gallifrey is still around can be explained with wibbly wobbly timey wimey.
Shops can have interactive experiences such as designing your own tech, building your own Sonic Screwdriver, buying prop replicas, even costume pieces from past incarnations of The Doctor, Master or companions. You can even create your own Time Lord costume, to be like The Doctor.
Restaurants can be futuristic with unique fusion styles like on Batuu, basic quick service kiosks and stations, even a tea and coffee house (because English Tea). Themed foods both classic and unique and unusual interspersed throughout the park.
Attractions/experiences can be as simple as a museum of costumes, props and televisual exhibits, a TARDIS themed motion simulator like Smugglerā€™s Run/Rise of the Resistance, or even a live show with Daleks, Cybermen and The Doctor (whichever incarnation) that has a different outcome depending on which Doctor is there. One experience would be entering any of the different TARDIS console rooms where you might be surprised by one of The Doctorā€™s incarnations that matches the room to greet you.
Walkaround characters or meet and greets can be The Doctor with their respective incarnations companions (One, Susan, etc.), The Master, Missy, Kate Stewart, Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans.
Photo ops would be with the TARDIS, UNIT HQ, a scaled down Big Ben, etc.
These are just a few of my ideas, but what do you guys think would also be fun to have there?

2024.05.07 15:26 Powerful-Employee-36 Batman's intelligent and invention technology feats.

So we all know Bruce Wayan is one of the most intelligent super genius characters in the DC universe.
So let's talk about his intelligence first (then the tech invention)
Geoff Johns confirmed that Bruce Wayne is definitively the 2nd smartest person on Earth. This automatically makes him more intelligent than everyone on Earth save for Lex Luthor, with an IQ of over 250.
Has one of the greatest minds in the entire DC Omniverse - Justice League (2018) #23
So let's some common misunderstanding about batman IQ being just 192.
That was never attributed to Batman, only Ted Kord.
anyway Batman automatically for being the second (only behind Lex) IQ in the Earth out him above Ryan Choi who have IQ 200 and and Hiro Okamura who have IQ over 210.
So now we have Batman IQ over at 210+ and possibly 250.
Batman is an Omni-Disciplinary Scientist and martial arts(Master of every scientific field known to man i.e. Reed Richards, Victor von Doom, Lex Luthor), mastering ā€œEVERY COURSE AND FIELD. EVERY SUBJECT AND TRADE.ā€ and the worlds greatest detective and confirmed have all knowledge of science history.
He is the greatest strategist and tactician in the world.
Deduced what Brainiac 5 (most intelligent being in the 31st century Multiverse) missed.
Batman mastered every scientific discipline known to man, and beyond, of which there are between 600ā€“800.
Figured out Zeta Beam (teleportation) technology in an instant that took the super-genius level Adam Strange years. 6th panel..
Batman is able to hack into a NASA satellite and transfer its information onto his servers.
He easily Easily hacked into Lexcorp and Darkseid's Hellspores.
Hacks Kryptonian computer in second and Hacks Apokolyptian computer.
Within seconds hacks an alien computer he doesn't even know the language of.
Hack even if someone discovered batman identity, he dosen't even worry about it, he just can manipulate someone fooling him on physiological thinking that heā€™s forced to put on the costume if he could fool that. Especially given how frequent mind-control is among Batmanā€™s rogues.

Just one more crackpot conspiracy theory among a thousand others. More tabloid tittle tattle and craziness surrounding mad, bad Bruce Wayne. In a world where no one can be sure whatā€™s real and whatā€™s not.ā€

2024.05.05 17:16 AzureBeast Respect Prime (Malibu Comics)

Kevin Green, Prime

It's Prime Time!
Thirteen years ago, a secret government fertility laboratory manipulated the genetic structure of dozens of babies in an attempt to create a group of ultra-powered beings. However, it appeared the experiment was a failure, as none of the babies were registered as anything other than normal humans. Kevin Green was one such baby. Now thirteen years old, Kevin was living a normal life in Canoga Park, California when he discovered he had the ability to transform into a musclebound superhero. Dubbing himself Prime, Kevin set out to become the world's greatest superhero.
Note: There was a time where Prime was separated into two entities, Kevin and Prime, who each only had part of their full power and are thus weakened in all of the feats they perform. Feats from this time will be marked with [H]
Each feat will be marked with the source

Power Mechanics

Kevin transforms into Prime by creating "liquid flesh" from his torso, which envelops him and takes a form shaped by Kevin's subconscious. This form is host to a variety of powers.

First Prime

The first iteration of Prime that Kevin transforms into. Inspired by Kevin's adoration of his father and the exaggerated proportions of comic books and cartoons, this body serves as the visual template for later Prime-bodies.

Rogue Prime

As Kevin becomes more cynical and jaded doing superhero work, with rising anti-Ultra sentiments among the public and people trying to manipulate him for their own means, his Prime-body also changes. Inspired more by rugged, individualistic antiheroes, Rogue Prime has a different costume and color scheme, as well as piercings and tattoos

Temporary Forms

Space Prime

Colonel Samuels of the US military discovered Prime's secret identity and coerced Kevin into assisting him with military missions. To that end, Kevin was manipulated to reshape Prime into a form suited for a moon mission. This form has a metallic shell to prevent the body from expanding in the vacuum of space as well as air-tanks, as well as oxygen tanks and a space suit inside for Kevin if the body decomposes.

Spider-Prime

While Prime was trapped in the mainline Marvel Universe, he tried to help Spider-Man fight the Lizard. With his powers on the fritz, he transformed into a body inspired by Spider-Man which he dubbed Spider-Prime. This body only had a fraction of the power of his regular bodies due to his powers going haywire. This body had six arms (though when he transformed again later he had only two) and allowed Prime to use webbing like Spider-Man

Phoenix Prime

When the Phoenix Force traveled to the Malibu universe, it took Prime as a host. Because the Phoenix Force originated in the Marvel universe and not the Malibu universe, it is not at full power when it possesses Prime
