I(15M(do t know if underage posts are allowed but ok) had a confusing revelation today. I gotta give some background though. Basically till high school I didn’t have nearly any friends. I kept trying to form friendships with people that I was probably better off not being friends with. I changed my personality so much because I desperately tried to conform to other peoples views of a “good friend.” But being as socially AwKwArD as I am, still didn’t make many friends until I started acting immature and kind of let a personality that’s not me be me. I was so desperate to find someone that liked me for who I am(I didn’t even know who I really was at the time(still don’t really)) so I put myself out of my comfort zone at the time just to try to find someone outside of my family that actually loved me or even actively wanted to be around me. Every. Single. Time. I ended up making a fool out of myself, I fell for someone’s obvious lie about wanting to go out with me, I was laughed at for asking someone to a school dance in middle school. I thought that would all change in high school and it did but not in the way I hoped it would. I got some friends that I like but don’t really like me but rather just the part of me that I don’t know if is really a part of me or just my affliction to make friends(idk if that makes sense) and I even went to homecoming with someone freshman year(turned out to be a flop but what do you do?) I ended up making friends with more mature people like seniors in my robotics team thinking maybe these people I hold in high standard would be good for me to learn from but it just didn’t end up being as simple as just talking with them a bunch or liking what they liked. Thinking about all that’s happened over the last two-three years had made me realize two things: 1. I’ve been (and am) always in a state of feeling lonely 2. I don’t know if anyone will ever love me for who I am and not just this show I put on for all these people because I’m fed up with the pressure to have friends.

I made this code with the help of AI, I read rule 10 but trust me this kept me up at night (bad at coding). Can somebody please explain why it only works properly in Codepen, but not when I place it in a website host? I saved it as styles.css, index.html, script.js., then to a folder, then zipped it.
When I put it in Codepen, the questions drop down when I choose the gender, this doesn't work in the website host. Any help/tip is appreciated. Thanks!

10 Warning Signs of Cult Recruitment
Research shows that anyone is susceptible to joining a cult. “Not me!” you say. Yes, you. The self-serving bias that makes people think they’re the exception to the rule can make them feel invulnerable—and leave them unprotected from pathological salespeople. You don’t have to be particularly gullible, insecure, or emotionally needy to be successfully recruited. Cults exploit psychological elements that are hardwired in pretty much everyone. Here’s how they do it:- Social isolation. If you are seeing less and less of your family and peers in favor of your new best friends, ask yourself why. Cults gradually chip away at your community until only cult members remain. If the cult is your entire world—a closed system—then leaving it can feel really scary.
- Cyber isolation. If all your Facebook friends agree with you, ask yourself why. Cyber isolation can lead to confirmation bias. That means you only see information that supports what you already believe. And your beliefs are also continually validated in the echo chamber of cyber isolation. The Facebook algorithm shows you things you want to see in a never-ending cycle of digital influence.
- Promised rewards. If you find that you’re on the verge of amazing accomplishments or the fulfillment of your wildest dreams, ask yourself why. Cults promise gifts like a spiritual Wheel of Fortune: enlightenment, self-actualization, love, unlicensed psychotherapy, companionship, exorcism, peace of mind, perfect health, eternal life, great sex, a forever home, a loving family. Over-the-top rewards are part of the conversion process. How can anyone say no?
- Phobia indoctrination. If you find that you have a lot of new fears, ask yourself why. Seeing threats everywhere? Cults use fear to induce people to stay within their ranks, where they’ll be safe. And naturally the only person who can truly protect you is the cult leader. Who is also responsible for punishing you. Their methods are effective because they alternate fear with love, leading to disorganized attachment.
- Heightened emotion. If you find yourself feeling extremely happy, angry, or scared, ask yourself why. Cults trigger big emotional responses and then direct that emotion toward a strategic target when you’re at your least rational.
- Love-bombing. If you find yourself feeling more loved than you ever have in your life, ask yourself why. This is a tactic that narcissistic manipulators use in interpersonal relationships, but it also applies to cultic attempts at thought reform. Cult members will spoil you with attention and affection in order to make you feel connected and important. And people keep coming back for the love drug.
- Us vs. them mentality. If you find that you have a lot of enemies all of a sudden, ask yourself why. Cults invent enemies to help solidify the group identity. When you envision yourself as a missionary for good versus evil, there might be too much at stake for you to abandon your cause.
- Social influence. If you find that everyone around you agrees on something, ask yourself why. Psychological studies show that compliance goes up with the number of people involved. Most people won’t reject an idea if the whole group supports it. And cult prospects are typically overwhelmed with group-ecstatic activities, which can lead them to poor information processing. Essentially, peer pressure makes it impossible for people to function at full capacity.
- Intelligence-dampening. If you find yourself too tired or confused to make decisions, ask yourself why. Cults use techniques like sleep-deprivation, alternate states of consciousness, repetition, and thought-stopping to overwhelm someone’s cognitive resources and critical thinking skills. They destabilize your view of reality. And when your mind is under threat, you keep returning to the safety and love of your leader. It doesn’t mean you’re stupid, even if you develop false beliefs. All humans have false beliefs and a tendency toward magical thinking. But cult members depend on the cult for direction when their brains are disoriented.
- Identity disturbance. If you feel like a new you–a better you–ask yourself why. Cults alternate reward and punishment to stress people out and disrupt their identities. From there, cults can inflict a new identity on a member, one that depends on submission and self-surrender. And it doesn’t help that other sources of identity, like work and school, are slowly taken over by cult participation.

When I was like 7/8/9 (I truly can’t remember what age, I’d like to say it is the earliest one but it’s probably 9) I went to this camp for like four days. It was pretty bad overall, didn’t really enjoy it, but it was almost finished. In fact, maybe I was slightly older? Like 10? Now I really can’t remember, I tried tracking what age I could be but I don’t like to ask when I went on it with anyone.
We had went on this big last walk during the final day and my legs had been really itchy for a lot of the walk back. I had no idea why. When we got back each room went back to their own, there was probably about 8 of us in a room, with bunk beds. I had decided to change clothing because I thought it must just be my trousers that had been itching my legs so badly.
When I went to take my trousers off, I scratched and saw that it was dried under my nails, and before I realised what had even happened someone had shouted what had occurred. Then suddenly everyone was running out of the room, I think someone was shouting it, some of them had got other people from a different room, and I guess one of the camp programme leaders. I had pulled my trousers up immediately though. One person had stayed behind and looked with pity.
I think I had just hid badly behind the door, probably in shock. When the leader came and got me. When I think about it now it’s all in third person. He had me taken to one of the really nice en-suite showers (compared to the campers had cubicle ones? I think anyway) and told me I could wash up there.
When I left, my hair was still damp, and I had to walk into an entire hall full of kids, both younger, same age, and older than me, and go up and get my great end of the camping trip hot chocolate. The walk and hot chocolate being the final part of the trip.
(I realise I’m saying camping trip, they were all lodges, and it was doing camping like activities)
Anyway, I walk through a quiet-ish room after a lot of people had stopped talking. I could feel eyes on me. I got my hot chocolate and immediately took a sip only to burn my tongue and cause more attention via my coughing. I probably did that so quickly just to do something rather than stand and think.
I got water and went down to sit at the bench where my good friend/primary school friend sat, with some others. I can’t remember what else we talked about but what he said always stuck with me “don’t worry, everyone makes mistakes” but I could sense he was embarrassed.
The next day, I remember standing waiting to leave, near the car hovering, as my parents spoke to the leader. I assume he told them, but I have no idea because I was too ashamed to ever ask or bring it up.
There was this guy who had brought it up a lot years later. He would walk a similar way home and tried to embarrass me. For years during highschool I would be nervous if he would come out at lunch/see him around/ walking home because he would say it in front of others and I could deal with the embarrassment. I ate so much, stopped at a shop to avoid meeting him on the way home, and would buy tons of food. My obesity has been an even bigger part of my life. I’m not assertive and I lack self-esteem.
It didn’t matter probably because everyone probably knew already. I tried to forget it when it happened, but in first year of highschool, a bit later into it, that friend who was on it with me told a lot of people. I got a fair amount of jokes, and looks. I never mentioned it myself though and just shrank into myself.
It was so long ago but was such a formative part of my life and ended up defining a lot of how I was perceived by everyone. I’m not sure how I feel about it, I think it’s still there, I don’t go a week I would say without thinking about it in some regard. I had always wanted to change my name and move away when I grew up, both because of that and other stuff.
Obviously, it was just some childhood thing and I want to get over it but I find it really hard. I hoped writing this and hearing thought could help but I doubt it. That guy I was friends with was okay after that, and I don’t think I hold a grudge but I don’t know. The other guy I see often as he works somewhere I go (still living at home rn). When we arrived, Sam immediately jumped into our car to greet me. I told my girlfriend to close the door to keep Sam inside, but she didn’t act quickly enough because she was worried about Sam’s tail. Sam eventually jumped out. We then spent 45 minutes trying various methods to coax Sam back into the car, including playing YouTube clips of dog barking and cats meowing, and acting frantic to create urgency. Nothing worked.

We suggest bringing the lens of complexity science to this problem, conceptualizing chronic pain as an emergent property of a complex biopsychosocial system. We frame pain-related physiology, neuroscience, developmental psychology, learning, and epigenetics as components and mini-systems that interact together and with changing socioenvironmental conditions, as an overarching complex system that gives rise to the emergent phenomenon of chronic pain. We postulate that the behavior of complex systems may help to explain persistence of chronic pain despite current treatments. From this perspective, chronic pain may benefit from therapies that can be both disruptive and adaptive at higher orders within the complex system. We explore psychedelic-assisted therapies and how these may overlap with and complement mindfulness-based approaches to this end. Both mindfulness and psychedelic therapies have been shown to have transdiagnostic value, due in part to disruptive effects on rigid cognitive, emotional, and behavioral patterns as well their ability to promote neuroplasticity. Psychedelic therapies may hold unique promise for the management of chronic pain. The subjective psychedelic experience itself, with its relationship to modulating internal and external factors (often discussed as “set and setting”) also seems to fit the definition of an emergent property of a complex system (216). 6 Future directionsPsychedelic-assisted therapy research is at an early stage. A great deal remains to be learned about potential therapeutic benefits as well as risks associated with these compounds. Mechanisms such as those related to inflammation, which appear to be independent of the subjective psychedelic effects, suggest activity beyond the 5HT2A receptor and point to a need for research to further characterize how psychedelic compounds interact with different receptors and affect various components of the pain neuraxis. You can think of the Akashic Records as an accumulation of lessons (Conclusions), thoughts, ideas, energies, entities and knowledge in general… coming from all the lives that we have ever lived on our evolutionary cycle… A spiritual record of all that we are, have been, and will ever be… one which is Omnipresent, Ever Vigilant and Actively Communicable to the awakened Individual.
We all have a personal ~Akashic record~ which pertains to all the lives that we as an individual soul have incarnated, you could perhaps consider this to be somewhat synonymous with ones “Personal unconscious” … and then on a larger scale there is the ~Akashic records~ of the entire world, which you might say is synonymous with the ~“collective consciousness/Unconscious~” and could perhaps be described as an accumulated, ever-changing aggregate of all combined experiences and there underlaying factors, both physical and Non-Physical… both of which (Personal and Collective), are of course Intimately connected. Those who have seen the movie “The Matrix”, have seen Hollywood’s New Aged, Technology-Driven depiction of this “Underlaying Code” A.K.A “Akashic Information”, which Interacts with and surrounds us constantly.
Though, speaking from the perspective of a true Visual Clairvoyant… I will say, while this Hollywoodized version of Akashic phenomena is generally speaking a good connection to the underlaying truth… this Akashic information is Endlessly more Mystical and Spiritually Symbolic in its Nature… and is not at all to be perceived in some “Purely Mathematical”, Technologically Inclined fashion.
There are also many Akashic Experiences and insight which can be” witnessed” and or attained through out of body experiences or even what some may look at as an “Inner voyage” ... though these are much more advanced methods that you can find in detail, within the Workings of Edgar Cayce.

I was in the backyard one night with my freinds. They were chatting and looking at something on their phones and I heard a twig snap to the right of me. I turned to look and saw a very tall and skinny figure standing in the shadows just behind a tree towards the back of the yard. It was moving back and forth on its feet in a inhuman way and stood at least a foot and a half above the 6 foot fence. I could see it's slender body slightly through the tree and could tell it was in the backyard with us, and it seemed like it was looking right at me even though I couldn't see its face. I panicked and went inside to grab a flashlight, my boyfriend and his friend followed me to see what was wrong, I told them there was something out there but when we went back out we couldn't see any trace of it with the light.
About 2 years after moving to our new home my boyfreind was at his freinds house and would be home in a hour or two. I was getting ready to take a shower and locked myself in the bathroom. I lock the doors behind me becuase it makes me feel safer when I'm alone. So I'm in there getting things ready and I hear a weird sound. It sounded like the doorknob to the bathroom door was turning. I looked over at it kind of confused and sure enough I could see the doorknob moving. I kind of laughed to myself like "wow girl you've really lost it huh" like it was a joke. Well whatever was behind that door heard me and became very aggressive. It started making these aggressive clicking noises and shoving the door. I wasn't laughing anymore and realized that this was happening, something was here and it was trying to get in. My cat started going crazy, I could hear her out in the hallway hissing and growling and I wanted to know what was going on out there but I was so terrified it was like I was paralyzed. Whatever it was went quiet for a few minutes and then I heard what sounded like someone banging their fists on my living room window outside the bathroom then followed by banging on my kitchen counter. I was shaking and I didn't know what to do. I just stayed there, I fully expected whatever was out there to come through the door at any moment but it went silent and the banging stopped. All the doors and windows were locked, there was no way anything could've been in my apartment. Honestly I'd never experienced fear like that before and I didn't move at all the entire time until my boyfreind got home. He could tell something had happened and was concerned about my safety. Even after he had gotten home I was still shaking and couldn't help but feel whatever it was that tried to get in was still there and had never left and was watching us.
There was another time I was walking up the driveway around 1 in the morning and I saw a tall grey crouched outside the bushes next to my bedroom window. It was just staring at me and didn't move or say anything. I made eye contact with it and it freaked the shit out of me. Why was it just waiting there by my window??? Did it want me to see it?? I don't understand but I was scared so I went and sat on the couch and avoided going to my room.
One time when I was a kid I was having a dream about a hooded figure and I woke up to a pain in my lower left side. When I opened my eyes there was a being standing right next to my head about a foot from my face. It was incredibly short, like the size of a child. I looked at it for about 5-10 seconds before it vanished into thin air. Like it activated a cloaking device.
I'm scared honestly, I don't know what they want or if they want to hurt me. I've tried requesting contact or asking for information but absolute silence. I have no clue what's going on and I legit don't know what to think of all this. Anyone here have any perspectives on the matter? I feel like I'm being harrased or they want me to go insane. I've been having sleep paralysis too, feeling like someone is touching my side. The same side that the short being was doing something to when I was a kid.
I don't know if it's related but I had an out if body experience a couple years ago when I was meditating. My heart rate slowed down significantly and so did my breathing and I saw and felt myself from 1st person flying into the sky with other people. I wasn't my body, I was made if pure energy and geometry changing colors and form. Everyone else was too and we all felt and thought as one singular being. Then I was back in my body. My TV turned on by itself right afterwards and starting changing inputs. Like someone wanted me to know I had been shown something I don't know could be a coincidence.
The only answer I've ever heard was just a couple dreams I had. In one a rock being materialized in my living room and told me they were interested in me becuase I have the shard whatever that means. But it could just be a dream and not correlated. In another one I'm in a house and I go over to the window. Open the curtain and there is a grey looking at me, it's eye reflecting light like a cat. I flicked it off jokingly and it returned the favor. I sat down and it came in and sat next to me. It told me that it was me and it could see light everywhere. It said alot more but I can't remember anything. It then turned into the cat I had just gotten recently. So yeah like I said probably not very reliable lol.
I also had a dream that I was standing on a platform overlooking am ocean and the moon fell into the sea. A portal opened up in the water where it fell and a being emerged moving towards the platform. He was very tall, had blue green skin, an extremely long neck and long thin slit black eyes that wrapped around his head. He read my mind and showed me images of me sitting in a chair in front of a TV drinking. I felt like he wanted me to stop drinking. When I accepted this he gave me a slip of paper and a portal opened up on the wall. A human man greeted me and took me into his office. He was also telepathic and seemed like a doctor of sorts. He showed me pics of something but I don't remember what it was. He then told me my boyfreinds memory would be erased. I then was telephoned over the portal in the ocean and started falling into it from the sky. Someone I couldn't see said "ego death" and as I got closer I saw a place that looked alot like zion from the matrix. Rows and rows of metal walkways of people on them going down for miles. Then I woke up.

As the title says. Why does Vampire Survivors limit you to 6 active and 6 passive abilities for each run? Why not allow for 12 abilities total, regardless whether passive or active? Or why limit abilities at all? Why not allow the player to pick as many different abilities as they like?

Hello, this is an account I use for my personal interests, but on main account, I moderate a sub that's relatively large and I feel so done with how things are done there.
The top mod is basically part of a lot of other subs, and even though the sub I'm in is just as huge and growing, they hardly come by. Even if they do, they just approve posts and leave once a month or in two months.
Most of the moderators are inactive. The number of active mods including me is just, maybe, two? Like two. That's a crazy number when you have like 10+ mods on the sub.
Even the other two active mods just barely come by to not end up as inactive on the sub.
I alone do the work. It's tiring. It's frustrating. One might say then "add more mods or quit and start a new subreddit or remove existing inactive mods" like it's easier said than done.
I'm not allowed to add more mods. I don't think so because I'm new kinda (for 2 years) and I still feel like I don't really belong on the team because there's barely any communication. They only talk to me when they need to get their things done.
And I don't want to start a new subreddit because I like this sub I'm moderating very much. It's closely aligned with my personal interest and it's the only sub relating to it with huge activity so getting more members in a newer subreddit is not easy and I'm not up for it.
Also removing existing inactive mods is also a no no because the older mods, and the Top Mod all know each other and talk to each other. This gives me no "right" to remove them apparently. I can already imagine the troubles I'll go through if I ever do that.
Honestly I'm done. I do all the work. Replying to modmail, helping people out, approving posts, removing rule breakers and banning them when necessary. It feels so shit when I ban someone who broke the rules but then one of the "inactive mods" happen to spawn at that particular time and just unban them.
It makes me feel useless. Like, I thought I was doing something but even that is being taken away.
It's tiring. Like actually tiring because I'm the only active mod. I want to take more people in to help me but that's also not possible. It sucks how I'm doing the same thing alone for 2 years now. Alone might sound exaggerated, but if you exclude the part where some mods drop by to approve stuff once in a while, then it's basically just me and the sub. All by ourself.
I don't need a trophy for doing this. This is what mods usually do. I signed up for this but it's damn frustrating to see no one else do anything and the top mod barely cares since they are already moderating other subs. If that so, why not pass it to someone who is willing to do it instead?
They even recently added a new mod who is basically on every major subreddit I've ever seen. That person barely, and I mean, barely comes by. Of course they don't. They're moderating 30+ subs with a huge audience. The top mod brought them in and I still don't understand why? Like, you could have brought someone else who is more useful in, but you ended up choosing this person? Who is already busy as it is?
It's like they're doing the Pokémon thing and collecting big subs. I'm sorry but I genuinely feel that's all what they're doing.
This is mostly a rant post but I'm genuinely hoping there is a feature that does this. Making the most active moderator on THE SUB (not Reddit as a whole since a few of the mods does the same for other top subs) and this should be a cycle that lasts a whole year. Then again, the most active mod of the year becomes the top mod for another year. This may sound like a silly plan but it's better than nothing.
This is how I find peace with myself that this situation is never going to end until I leave that sub. But I really really love it there. It's so fun.
It's just sad how it's not going the way I wish it went in moderation.

I wish there was a feature that adds the most active moderator as the Top Mod of a sub for a year, and then again in cycles

The top mod is basically part of a lot of other subs, and even though the sub I'm in is just as huge and growing, they hardly come by. Even if they do, they just approve posts and leave once a month or in two months.
Most of the moderators are inactive. The number of active mods including me is just, maybe, two? Like two. That's a crazy number when you have like 10+ mods on the sub.
Even the other two active mods just barely come by to not end up as inactive on the sub.
I alone do the work. It's tiring. It's frustrating. One might say then "add more mods or quit and start a new subreddit or remove existing inactive mods" like it's easier said than done.
