I have two boys on the spectrum. Both with different needs. The older one has more needs. But still if it’s not one, it’s the other. The younger one is 3 and somewhat verbal and expressive. But he gets into everything. Touches everything. Moves everything. I can’t have my electronics anywhere cause he takes them. I spend most of my day trying to make sure my favorite things aren’t destroyed. Yes most of the things are in my room but sometimes I just want my kindle near by, my iPad for viewing things etc. They have their own. But you know how that goes if one runs out of battery.
The older one has higher needs and sensory input. He stomps around the house. I have to constantly ask if he wants or needs anything. He’s 6 and non speaking. Even with the communication device he has. It’s limited and he tends to mess around too much before getting to what his need/wants are. So he stomps a lot and the house we live in has a person who lives below us so we try to keep it at a minimum til he goes to bed at 8-9pm. He also has a tendency of withholding bowels. So he goes through diapers a lot. Between the smell and chasing after him to make sure he doesn’t mess with his diaper is constant until he fully goes to the bathroom. He doesn’t have a fear or issues sitting on the toilet. No crying or anything. He just withholds and dirties his diapers all day.
Now lately in the car he bangs on the window to get my attention for snacks. Which I tell him to wait. But he won’t. I’m scared he will break the car window. The sound and crying has been an issue for me. I try hard to block it out. Some days I give up and turn up the music.
Both boys need constant supervision. They don’t allow us to focus on any tasks. They can’t be alone in their room together to play or be on their iPads. Wherever they go in the place. Someone has to be there. My husband works overnights so he needs sleep during the day. It’s hard on us both. By the time I wake up my husband. I have to rush to complete the tasks or he does while I watch the kids. I’ve been withdrawing a lot because between his tiredness and my tired. I’m exhausted and don’t want to need him at all. Everything feels like a burden. There’s little to no fun in anything it seems.
Even quiet moments are emotional. My heart rate during the day runs constantly from 80-130. I truly believe I’m having anxiety attacks that build throughout the day.
I’m grateful that both sleep through the night given the chance. But from the moment one opens their eyes til they both fall asleep. I’m on high alert and feel like I’m always on a verge of a breakdown. The schedule is hectic since I have them in a program as well. The younger one goes in the morning and older one has school in the day then program in the afternoon. My day starts at 7 am. Constantly driving back and forth. Working in between and running errands. After everything is said and done. I sort of breathe at 10pm. Sometimes 12am. The program is a 40-50 min drive from the house. So I’m constantly driving back and forth or living in the car for about 60-90 miles a day.
I work remotely in a flexible job but even that’s gotten overwhelming since it feels like I’m on call. I barely have time to cook or think anymore. Even with the boys gone. We have to be prepare most of their foods. Pick ups. Drop offs.
Days are blurring together. The energy to talk to people is dwindling. I’m overstimulated.
Some days I’m numb. Some days I don’t express anything. Some days I feel like there’s no where to turn.
This is my first vent post ever anywhere because I don’t know where to put these emotions. I need to survive til September where finally their schedules will be the same. Barely any driving. I’ll be able to hopefully focus on some of my outlets. But I’m scared of the emotional damage I’ll have by then. I’m crying while writing this post cause I’m suffocating from the responsibilities. I have ADHD and suspect more diagnoses but I haven’t had the time or mental space to tackle any since most of my time is with them.
I know I’m drowning. I know I’m wishing this wasn’t my life.
Some days I want to run far away until I forget all of this…

Hi! My sister in law is 38.5 weeks pregnant. She has gestational diabetes. Her doctor has scheduled her induction for next week (Fri). This makes sense given she’s put on a massive amount of weight in the last two weeks and just “looks dead” …but they’re inducing her at 8pm. But here’s what she doesn’t understand: they told her they will induce and then load her up with sleeping pills so she can fall asleep and then wake up on the am to deliver. I’ve had three babies and never heard of this so when she came to me for advice, I had nothing to offer.
Can obgyn offer insight so I can ease her anxiety?

I had a 30% rating in 2016 and in 2020 that rating got reduced to 0%. I appealed the decision and got the appeal granted recently on May 16. Here are some questions I'm hoping someone can help me with:
1: what are the chances of the new rating be less than the original? I guessing no one would know this but maybe more experience people might be able to give some guidance. I got a TDIU claim popped up along with my appeal being granted so I am thinking the VA may see my condition are worse than they initial thought?
2: If the new rating is at or higher than the original 30% would the back pay be retroactive to the original 2016 date or the 2020 appeal date?

So, all the talk right now is FFIE, CRKN, and GWAV. I'm actually in all three and encourage you to stay in for AS LONG AS IT IS GOOD FOR YOU. But I want to talk about the importance of not going full port, and diamond-handing to a loss. There is ALWAYS a next FFIE. In all my years, I've seen so many I can't begin to estimate how many I've seen. As you play this game, you NEED to have stop losses set. You need to remember not to get greedy. Bank your profits, and be getting excited for your next play. Keeping an eye on what is coming up really helps keep you detached from the stock, so you don't get burned and left holding the bag.
Since what has brought most of you to these stocks is the thought of a MOASS, I’m gonna write up some other short stock opportunities. Full disclosure upfront: I’m heavy in two of these, and would love nothing more than 1/100th of the volume ya’ll have generated to come to those stocks.
This list is ranked top to bottom in percentage of short float, and ranked at the bottom in my interest level and my positions.
So, some of the most shorted stocks currently, and my thoughts on each:
Sunpower SPWR
On this list because it is the most shorted (non-penny) stock with 95% short interest. At sub $3 and only 45 million shares, this is as squeezable as it gets. Any sort of squeeze would have to be from meme value as the financials of this company aren’t great. They haven’t met expected earnings in the past 5 quarters, and have actually done worse quarter after quarter.
If this found volume and a rabid community I’d be in… but I’m not touching this thing otherwise. This is a real “all or nothing” stock.
MicroCloud Hologram HOLO
Spend anytime on squeeze forums and youre gonna see this one. Another stock with insane (75%) short interest This company has shown multiple times over that it is capable of a run. Part of that is that the product that they are making is quite intriguing… the other part is that this stock has left a lot of bagholders in its wake. If there were call options available, I’d be buying far dated OTMs hand over fist, because at some point, this thing will explode again.
Childrens Place PLCE
Okay, so this has some fundamentals that could be interesting to some. Heavily in debt, with historically bad gross margins, and a panic sell off when they announced they had breached debt covenants, this stock has gone from over $100 post-pandemic, to roughly $12 today.
Why could it be intriguing? Mithaq capital purchased 7 million shares recently. Backed by the Saudis, and capable of offering better terms on back debt, this could be a takeoveturnaround story. Purely speculative, and high risk, I don't see a squeeze happening here anytime soon, but if messageboard chatter picked up, I’d be grabbing a lot more calls… when this goes, it’ll go fast.
B. Riley Financial RILY
At 56% shorted this is one of my top picks (#2), the one most primed for a squeeze, and I'm heavily in it.
This is also the first company on this list that has a clear path to an increase in stock price. For me personally, this is what I look for in an investment. I love a good squeeze, as it accelerates my profits, but I like betting on companies that are going to get me there regardless of the squeeze.
This company has many facets and if you want backstory, there are several good write ups/DDs available on Reddit. As it stands, despite turning around their slow quarters, and doing better as a business, short sellers have ramped up their positions? Why? Because there is an actual villain in this story. Marc Cahodes. He is an infamous short seller, with a personal grudge against this company, and the short sellers are not running off a functioning thesis. This is about destroying a company to soothe a slighted ego. Soon, short sellers will unwind their position, as the stock has pretty much found its base. A short squeeze in the near future could send this stock up into the $90 range.
Trupanion TRUP
39% short sold, this pet insurance company has recently come under attack by…it’s Marc Cahodes again. Marc did his usual tactic, doxing and harassing supporters, and accusing everybody in the business (down to the janitor) of fraud. However, despite these attacks, the company itself has mostly “Buy” ratings. The share price has slumped, due to bad Q1 earnings and the short attacks, but there is a new CEO and she is intent on increasing profitability, and decent quarterly results could pop this back up to historic $60 levels (+100%).
Cutera CUTR
This company makes hardware for treating acne and other dermatologic issues. 39% shorted this should be on your radar in early JULY. Listening to their earnings call was a lot to be excited about, if you could stand to listen to their hopium bullshit. Clearing up inventory, and debt, they have a lot of potential to have a strong Q2 showing. At $2 a share, I’ve gone ahead and made a small position, as this is might be the bottom.
Immunity Bio IBRX
OH. MY. GOD. I LOVE THIS STOCK. By far my #1 right now. Sitting at 39% shorted, I wouldn't be surprised to find that Merck is behind the shorting; trying to keep the stock price down so they can buy it out. This is a life saving cancer treatment. With recent FDA approval, this company sold 400 million in product ITS FIRST WEEK. With trials ongoing for multiple other uses, and a meeting with the FDA scheduled in June to get it fast tracked as a treatment for lung cancer. I have a $20 price target set for July. $40 by September.
There is honestly so much to say about this company, that I will write up a separate, in depth DD.
Novavax NVAX
If you were paying attention, you just watched this thing pop (260%) Is it done? Actually, yeah, Probably. I’ve read a lot of chatter about how it has a historic high of $300 without people factoring in its 20:1 reverse split. Robinhood needs to fix the UI, because a lot of people are tossing out good money. That said, with 33% short interest, a mild squeeze may happen for a few bucks.
Lucid LCID
A DPAC luxury EV maker on the most shorted list? Who would have thought?! Ok, so, I’ve had a chance now to drive a couple of these… and HOLY SHIT. I want this company to survive. I want one of these cars.
That said, yeah, I’m not putting more money into this. I’m putting it on this list because sometimes, great products fail. This is a prime example. Since first being wow’d by this car, the stock price has fallen 80%. Truthfully, if the Saudis walk away from Lucid, they're done. Don't fall in love with a stock.
AST Spacemobile ASTS
The lowest short interest on this list (28.3% which is still high as fuck!!!) is my #3 pick. And I’m in this bigly. This tech is so good, it’s literally going to change your life. Imagine, no place on Earth being without cell service. Why is it shorted? Delays, and Delays, and Delays. Go on over to the subreddit, and feel the general relief that everyone feels as launch is FINALLY nearing. If you are thinking of getting into this stock, do so before early July, as it nears major catalysts.

So, all the talk right now is FFIE, CRKN, and GWAV. I'm actually in all three and encourage you to stay in for AS LONG AS IT IS GOOD FOR YOU. But I want to talk about the importance of not going full port, and diamond-handing to a loss. There is ALWAYS a next FFIE. In all my years, I've seen so many I can't begin to estimate how many I've seen. As you play this game, you NEED to have stop losses set. You need to remember not to get greedy. Bank your profits, and be getting excited for your next play. Keeping an eye on what is coming up really helps keep you detached from the stock, so you don't get burned and left holding the bag.
Since what has brought most of you to these stocks is the thought of a MOASS, I’m gonna write up some other short stock opportunities. Full disclosure upfront: I’m heavy in two of these, and would love nothing more than 1/100th of the volume ya’ll have generated to come to those stocks.
This list is ranked top to bottom in percentage of short float, and ranked at the bottom in my interest level and my positions.
So, some of the most shorted stocks currently, and my thoughts on each:
Sunpower SPWR
On this list because it is the most shorted (non-penny) stock with 95% short interest. At sub $3 and only 45 million shares, this is as squeezable as it gets. Any sort of squeeze would have to be from meme value as the financials of this company aren’t great. They haven’t met expected earnings in the past 5 quarters, and have actually done worse quarter after quarter.
If this found volume and a rabid community I’d be in… but I’m not touching this thing otherwise. This is a real “all or nothing” stock.
MicroCloud Hologram HOLO
Spend anytime on squeeze forums and youre gonna see this one. Another stock with insane (75%) short interest This company has shown multiple times over that it is capable of a run. Part of that is that the product that they are making is quite intriguing… the other part is that this stock has left a lot of bagholders in its wake. If there were call options available, I’d be buying far dated OTMs hand over fist, because at some point, this thing will explode again.
Childrens Place PLCE
Okay, so this has some fundamentals that could be interesting to some. Heavily in debt, with historically bad gross margins, and a panic sell off when they announced they had breached debt covenants, this stock has gone from over $100 post-pandemic, to roughly $12 today.
Why could it be intriguing? Mithaq capital purchased 7 million shares recently. Backed by the Saudis, and capable of offering better terms on back debt, this could be a takeoveturnaround story. Purely speculative, and high risk, I don't see a squeeze happening here anytime soon, but if messageboard chatter picked up, I’d be grabbing a lot more calls… when this goes, it’ll go fast.
B. Riley Financial RILY
At 56% shorted this is one of my top picks (#2), the one most primed for a squeeze, and I'm heavily in it.
This is also the first company on this list that has a clear path to an increase in stock price. For me personally, this is what I look for in an investment. I love a good squeeze, as it accelerates my profits, but I like betting on companies that are going to get me there regardless of the squeeze.
This company has many facets and if you want backstory, there are several good write ups/DDs available on Reddit. As it stands, despite turning around their slow quarters, and doing better as a business, short sellers have ramped up their positions? Why? Because there is an actual villain in this story. Marc Cahodes. He is an infamous short seller, with a personal grudge against this company, and the short sellers are not running off a functioning thesis. This is about destroying a company to soothe a slighted ego. Soon, short sellers will unwind their position, as the stock has pretty much found its base. A short squeeze in the near future could send this stock up into the $90 range.
Trupanion TRUP
39% short sold, this pet insurance company has recently come under attack by…it’s Marc Cahodes again. Marc did his usual tactic, doxing and harassing supporters, and accusing everybody in the business (down to the janitor) of fraud. However, despite these attacks, the company itself has mostly “Buy” ratings. The share price has slumped, due to bad Q1 earnings and the short attacks, but there is a new CEO and she is intent on increasing profitability, and decent quarterly results could pop this back up to historic $60 levels (+100%).
Cutera CUTR
This company makes hardware for treating acne and other dermatologic issues. 39% shorted this should be on your radar in early JULY. Listening to their earnings call was a lot to be excited about, if you could stand to listen to their hopium bullshit. Clearing up inventory, and debt, they have a lot of potential to have a strong Q2 showing. At $2 a share, I’ve gone ahead and made a small position, as this is might be the bottom.
Immunity Bio IBRX
OH. MY. GOD. I LOVE THIS STOCK. By far my #1 right now. Sitting at 39% shorted, I wouldn't be surprised to find that Merck is behind the shorting; trying to keep the stock price down so they can buy it out. This is a life saving cancer treatment. With recent FDA approval, this company sold 400 million in product ITS FIRST WEEK. With trials ongoing for multiple other uses, and a meeting with the FDA scheduled in June to get it fast tracked as a treatment for lung cancer. I have a $20 price target set for July. $40 by September.
There is honestly so much to say about this company, that I will write up a separate, in depth DD.
Novavax NVAX
If you were paying attention, you just watched this thing pop (260%) Is it done? Actually, yeah, Probably. I’ve read a lot of chatter about how it has a historic high of $300 without people factoring in its 20:1 reverse split. Robinhood needs to fix the UI, because a lot of people are tossing out good money. That said, with 33% short interest, a mild squeeze may happen for a few bucks.
Lucid LCID
A DPAC luxury EV maker on the most shorted list? Who would have thought?! Ok, so, I’ve had a chance now to drive a couple of these… and HOLY SHIT. I want this company to survive. I want one of these cars.
That said, yeah, I’m not putting more money into this. I’m putting it on this list because sometimes, great products fail. This is a prime example. Since first being wow’d by this car, the stock price has fallen 80%. Truthfully, if the Saudis walk away from Lucid, they're done. Don't fall in love with a stock.
AST Spacemobile ASTS
The lowest short interest on this list (28.3% which is still high as fuck!!!) is my #3 pick. And I’m in this bigly. This tech is so good, it’s literally going to change your life. Imagine, no place on Earth being without cell service. Why is it shorted? Delays, and Delays, and Delays. Go on over to the subreddit, and feel the general relief that everyone feels as launch is FINALLY nearing. If you are thinking of getting into this stock, do so before early July, as it nears major catalysts.

i went two weeks without binging. almost made it to three. but then i had an episode of extreme extreme hunger, and then i couldn’t go back to normal. last week, i binged twice. this week, three times.
it’s never been this bad, usually i can stop myself to atleast have it be once a week, but i couldn’t even last two days this week. i found that an eating schedule calms me, but ive been so so so hungry that the schedule doesn’t matter anymore, but now my body knows that the schedule can be ignored easily now.
i wish my doctors listened to me, i wish i was given medication because i feel myself starting to abandon my hobbies because of how much food noise i have.
i’ve noticed that ive had many many more moments of overstimulation + stress & my binging has gotten worse with it. in turn, binging and these moments are making my anxiety worse with it and so i binge again and again. my body is under immense stress, i feel so sick and lethargic and i get headaches everytime i eat and my heart rate is so high and my body hurts so bad.
i’m going out to eat tomorrow with my family, so once again, i won’t focus on the numbers and hope my body learns to trust itself again. three days in the next week, no binges, it’s all i ask of my body.

36, married, 2 young kids (5 and 2 years old), live in a high cost of living area. I've lurked here for a bit but am new to fire. Have been pouring over the info in the sub's FAQ/"start here" page and other links with the limited free time I have, there's an overwhelming amount of information. I haven't really considered doing FIRE before, but 3 years ago I laid out a "10 year plan" to reach $1 million in investments and am very fortunate to be ahead of schedule (so far). I started out a bit behind in that I mostly spent my 20's paying off student debt (both my spouse and I did) and didn't really contribute much to savings/retirement. That changed once I hit 30 and got a higher paying job, started maxing my 401k contributions etc. Now that things are going well it seems like I could realistically work towards a path of retiring early.
Here's my info:
401k's (mine and my spouse's): $458,000
Financial Advisor controlled investment portfolio: $358,000
Personal Fidelity account (mostly for doing my own personal stuff, all in ETFs except for some stock an employer gave me). This money is earmarked for a house downpayment, the intent was to move out of our first home to a better school district once the 5 year old started 1st grade, but with the housing market the way it is that probably won't be happening soon, so I'll just continue to leave this money alone: $109,000
HSA (this year will be the first year I max out my contributions, I never used it much before being young and someone who never goes to the doctor, and didn't realize what a great tax/investment vehicle it is): $8000
Emergency Fund: $25,000 sitting in a HYSA
529/College Savings for 5 & 2 year old - I don't actively contribute to these, I deposited $30,000 into both when each kid was born, hoping that 18 years of growth at ~6% interest should hopefully pay for a large chunk of school (with our income and student loans covering the rest). I also don't count this money towards my personal $1 million goal/net worth since this money isn't earmarked for our us, but is instead for the kids.
Liabilities:
Mortgage: $272,000
Personal & Auto Loans: $22,500
The personal/auto loan could be paid off at most any time, but they have sub 3% interest rates on them so I just make minimum payments and invest my extra money instead. The mortgage is a sub 3% rate as well.
So adding up the 401k's, the investment portfolio, the HSA, and the Fidelity account (though I don't normally "count"this since the money is earmarked for a house) minus the liabilities makes a net worth of ~$630,500.
We were fortunate enough to purchase our first home prior to the the housing market going crazy during Covid. A quick look at Google/Redfin/Zillow and what the county has assessed my latest property tax rate at suggests the house adds another ~$450-480k to my net worth.
In addition to making the max contributions I can to the 401k and HSA, I also invest an additional ~$3k-$5k per month into the investment portfolio and ETFs in Fidelity.
I'm just looking for some general advice on what "next steps" you FIRE experts would take :) - is there a different/additional vehicle I should use for the $3k-$5k I am kicking into generic portfolios each month? Is there something more efficient I could be doing to maximize those slow and steady gains?
The amount of info out there is a little overwhelming - it is sort of like I am already almost accidentally doing FIRE (just from being fortunate and disciplined already), but there still seems to be some next steps / more things I could be taking advantage of to get there faster!

ETS 1/31/2024, I applied bunch of premed programs back in December. Got offers from USC, Columbia, SFSU. Basically, I found out the VA does not pay this program in USC. So, I double, triple, quadruple…verified that Gi Bill supports this program in SFSU & Columbia. My BDD claim completed in April. I got offer from SFSU in March, then I got offer from Columbia in mid-April. I thought I was gonna pick Columbia, then after really thinking about everything and in terms of quality of life, weather, and many other factors, I turned down Columbia and was going to pursue SFSU. I flew to SF on 5/1-5/5 then signed a lease. Had VR&E appointment on 5/7, submitted all my paperwork on 5/9. I was gonna move next Tuesday; however, VA called me on this Thursday and told me my premed program is not approved on WEAMS since 4/4/2024. So, now all my plans have been totally screwed. I am canceling my apartment, delaying my move, and have no schools to go to. On top of this stress, my herniated disc is literally killing me and my first PT appointment with VA took 2.5 months to schedule. All I am trying to say is this transition is tough. If you are still in the military and trying to get out, I highly recommend:
-start applying your school 6-8 months before your ETS because you can always delay your admission. -Also, leverage extra time for VA to approve your school stuff before you make a move. -Activate your Gi Bill online before you request for using VR&E because it can take up to 1 month for the system to activate your Gi Bill. -Any tuition over $50k/year requires special approval from VR&E.
So, for me, I can either go to UCLA extension to do this program or beg Columbia to reverse my admission while hoping for VR&E’s special approval works since the cost is $60k/year.
