And that’s all of May’s merriments! Our fellow dataminer Koopavocelot has also spotted a noteworthy notice that may be coming this month but no info yet on its contents… Hopefully it’s not some sort of end-of-times apocalyptic alert with the last of the villagers likely coming out this month. Er… right? As for June, we’ll probably get the Twitter preview in only a week’s time. June is often themed around seasonal rain or weddings as they’re what the month is known for in Japan, and given that we just had a windy-themed event this month, I’d expect more of the latter matrimania for next month’s events. But who knows? We might get some of both in a dewy bridal shower! (Or maybe something completely different.) I’ll aim to have that datamine posted for you fine folks when the update drops ASAP. And that concludes our jungle jam for now, campers—thanks for tuning in even though these summaries have gotten reprehensibly late. I’d like to preface this with two things. 1.) This is just my opinion on how the finale could have been better for me personally. This is not an objective assessment and shouldn’t be taken as such. If you disagree with my opinion, kudos, that means you have an opinion of your own and I respect that. 2.) I know I have a tendency to wax verbose so I’m going to try to limit myself to only brief changes and descriptions there-of. If you want a more in depth explanation for why I would have preferred a particular change, feel free to ask for one, but if I’ve already given what I think is a satisfying explaination to someone else in the comments I will likely refer you to that instead.

The Ending of the End pt.1
- Grogar should have been the real Grogar. When the other villains used the bewitching bell against him he should have been trapped inside the Bell, revealing he’s not just some goat but an actual magical creature.
- Discord’s reveal that the villains were about to attack could have gone about the same, with him revealing merely that he knew Grogar was back (using his magic sense that helped him track Tirek before) and knew he was responsible for Sombra and the others, but was just going to let things play out as a test for Twilight until the unexpected occurred and the trio absorbed Grogar’s magic. Discord still ends up getting his power drained by the bell, but his chaos magic isn’t uncontrollable and instead just supes up the Trio even more, as it did previously when Tirek consumed it.
- Instead of being unable to safely absorb more magic from the bell, the trio steadily grow more and more powerful over the course of the episode, growing steadily addicted to the steady trickle of power and using the bell to drain the power from all their victims, including Starlight.
- Instead of it being Discord and Starlight that free the Mane 6, it is the Student 6, who the trio overlook as they squabble over who gets to drain more power from the bell. After they’re free, the Mane 6 tell the students that they need to go home where it is safe, and warm their families about what is happening in Equestria whole the Mane 6 go and meet up with Twilight.
- the windigos are shown more emphatically gaining power as more and more ponies panic and a real blizzard begins blanketing the land in snow. The Trio decide that such power should belong to them and they use the bell on the windigos, draining them, and making themselves even more powerful and ghostly in appearance. The blizzard continues with the Trio now the source of the weather and growing more powerful by the second as they feed on the fear and distrust of all the ponies.
- the climax is ostensibly the same, with Twilight’s students rallying all of Equestria against the Trio and subsequently weakening them as the windigo powers they absorb is turned against them by everyone’s friendship and teamwork. Even so, they are still too powerful and Twilight has to channel everyone’s power into one huge rainbow... however, instead of the bell being stolen from them, the trio use it to absorb the rainbow’s power! This overloads the ball, cracking it, and it absorbs all the magic that the Trio has stolen back into itself before shattering completely, revealing a very angry and extremely supercharged and monsterous Grogar that now towers over the cowering trio.
- This is the big change. There is no epilogue, but instead a true three part finale.
- Grogar, now super charged with all of his magic plus all that the Trio managed to steal now grows even more powerful as the fear of all those around him feed him even more power (since Grogar feeds on fear) and it reveals that with the bells destruction he can now absorb magic directly from anyone who is afraid of him.
- It’s Grogar who drains the Trio completely, then envelops them in flames that pull them beneath the earth, promising them more suffering and terror as he plans on feeding on their fear for some time in punishment for their betrayals. He then declares he is reclaiming his title as First Emperor of Equestria and demands all present kneel to him or suffer horrors beyond their wildest nightmares.
- Some do kneel, truly afraid, but Twilight and the other Mane 6 remain defiant. Twilight tells everyone that Grogar was defeated before by Gusty the Great and that since he feeds on fear all they have to do is remain brave and he can be defeated. Grogar laughs at this, pointing out that Gusty only defeated him by stealing his bell and now the bell is broken, there’s no way they can win. He emphasizes this by creating an army of monsters from his shadowy magic, creating copies of every horrible creature the girl’s have ever faced in reality or in their nightmares and unleashing them on the panicked populace.
- After the chaos we come back to the Mane 6 and their friends who fled to the safety of the Treehouse the Student Six created from the remains of the Tree of Harmony. Monsters still rage wildly outside, with Grogar growing so large from all the power he absorbed he can easily be seen looming on the horizon. The girls try to come up with a plan to defeat Grogar, but it seems hopeless, until Cadance and Shining Armor arrives with Flurry Heart and the Crystal Heart. Then Twilight knows what she has to do.
- Twilight confronts Grogar alone. Grogar assumes that she thinks if if no one else is around to be afraid and feed him more power, that she might stand a better chance of defeating him, but chuckling he reveals he knows her secret: she’s terrified! And a source for all the power he’d need to defeat her by himself. Twilight admits she is afraid, but that being courageous isn’t about not feeling fear, but doing what you have to do in spite of that fear. Grogar and Twilight then fight, with Grogar clearly having the upper hand.
- Grogar defeats Twilight and then gloats about it. How maybe she would have stood a chance if she worked together with her friends, but that she never had a chance on her own. Twilight shoots back that she is never on her own, and then reveals that she knew Grogar would beat her. That she knew he wouldn’t destroy her so he could instead feed on her fear. She knew he wouldn’t be able to pass up gloating about it. And that he would be too distracted to realize he had been defeated until it was too late.
- We cut to everypony fathered around Flurry Heart and the Crystal Heart, as Cadance and Twilight’s friends extols everyone to focus their love, their friendship, and all their positive feelings for one another onto the Crystal Heart. The heart burns with power as every creature does as asked, and the spell suppressing Flurry Hearts power is removed by Sunburst. All that positive energy flows into Flurry Heart, and causing a feed back loop that multiplied the power infinitely as it bounces between her and the artifact, until finally a pulse of energy a thousand times more powerful than before sweeps out from the Castle of the Two Sisters, which is restored to a Crystal Palace, sweeping over all of Equestria.
- The monsters are wiped out of existence, everyone the wave touches becomes Crystal, and as the wave crashes into Grogar it neutralizes all of his dark magic. In the end the old goat explodes, much like King Sombra before him, as all the stolen magic flows back to where it came from.
- we end with the donut eating scene, except it seems like everyone in Equestria is there all congratulating Twilight and then we end with the book closing.
