This isnt the first time but it hits hard for multiple reasons
ive always been a huge sucker for sports anime, but over the years ive started liking "realistic" sports anime which arent based in high school so much because it makes me connect to to the characters so much more. its hard finding such anime...first i found "Major" which is one of the fav anime of all time...i love it so much that i've rewatched a few seasons multiple times and recently i found out about "Baby Steps" which apparently is just like Major in the sense its not based in high school and touches professional sports Baby Steps is basically about a scholar student who has never played tennis, pick up tennis and throughout the anime we see his love for the game increasing, not only is the portrayal of the sport realistic but the romance between the MC and the FMC is adorable, im not even joking but it tops some of the romance animes ive seen. After finishing the Anime i decided to pick up the manga as i was very hooked to the story. Baby Steps Manga has 250+ Chapters after the point the anime stops and my god does it not disappoint. the artwork keeps getting better so does the story. the arc right after or a bit later the anime stops airing is one of the best ive read recently...the romance also remains top notch and the way the mangaka shows the mental aspects of sports is admirable, another reason why i love baby steps is because topics like future planning is so relatable to my life as im in my last year of school as well anyway....i dont even know how quick i read up 250 chapters but when i saw "THE END" written in the last chapter i was like HUH???? because it literally is in between a match....and upon doing some surface level research seems like the series got scrapped beacause the publication wanted to rebrand, ffs. So now one of my fav manga ended just like that. its such a fucking shame man because the mangaka didnt even get an opportunity to give a proper sendoff to a series he/she (no one knows) worked on for 10+ years. we didnt even get a timeskip to see what happened to the MC and FMC Ig it isnt as famous as Prince of Tennis but man this had the potential of being another "Major" like anime which goes through an athlethes entire life, maybe even a generations sequel...so much potential MANNNNNNNN i cant stop thinking about the series especially because of the ending.

This is a fear I've been carrying since childhood. I'm in my mid twenties now and throughout my life I feel like the amount of times I actually had to v* can be counted on two hands if not one. Every time I felt like it, I did my best to suppress it and it almost always worked.
Not the past Sunday evening, though. I felt nauseous around 7PM but thought it was because of gaming and ignored it. Then 10PM hit and my body forced the v* out of me. As always, I cried while it happened and the stuffed nose caused me to be even more scared because I didn't know when I could breathe again. The first load was already crappy but I felt better for 5 minutes after that, thinking it was finally over. Nope. Stomach cramps ongoing and 11PM I had to do it again. This time I don't know why but it was so humiliating that my whole body cramped up and remained stiff for long enough to get everyone worried. My mom was there all along and I told her that this can't be normal (I hadn't experienced a panic attack before this so I didn't know it was "just that") and to please call an ambulance đ„Č
Long story short, they got here around 1AM and during those 2 hours waiting for them we've been on the phone with paramedics, my family stayed with me and I kept going back and forth between v*, my body cramping up and not being able to take a step without nearly fainting which was the reason they came to our place instead of us driving to the hospital. Once they got here they were able to calm me down and ensure it was probably the stomach flu and the panic attack a result of me hyperventilating (I was still breathing too fast when they got here).
The whole experience was SO bad that I realized this cannot keep making life miserable. Rationally I always knew that our body is just trying to get rid of something bad but I could never work with that. But this time, the combo of v*, feeling better after it and experiencing a panic attack I never want to experience again, is (hopefully) the first step towards recovery. I'm tired of emetophobia causing me to be miserable for way longer than needed and ironically causing more suffering than what we fear we'd suffer. I promised myself to finally do something about this after this experience. I pray no one has to be pushed this far to realize we need help but honestly, being in this sub already shows we're on the right path so... Best of success to everyone âĄÌ

I was then able to get it to generate a table that cross-referenced the compounds listed in a GCMS readout with those it deemed essential for the characteristic perfume of hyacinths. This was through iterative steps. I got it to categorise each compound by layer, and after uploading my own materials spreadsheet, check which compounds I didn't have in stock, cross-reference which ones I needed to buy from the stockist (www.pellwall.com), suggest alternatives where none was available from the stockist and then for each compound tell me the minimum order quantity along with price and then provide a total excluding shipping (total was ÂŁ60.00 GBP). I can't share the chat as OpenAI doesn't allow sharing chats that contain images, so the best I can do is show you the images here along with the final spreadsheet. This barbershop was situated on the first floor of a very old 3 story building
Beneath us was a cafe, and above us on the top floor was two empty rooms
The cafe staff would often come up stairs onto our floor as we shared a toilet and kitchen with them
So it wasn't out of the ordinary for people to be walking up and down the stairs constantly, coming back and forth the toilet
But one Saturday afternoon around 3pm, we had just finished work at the barbershop and my boss had to leave quickly so told me to lock up, which was usually the case as I'd lock up most days
As he left i had locked the barbershop door and walked down the corridor to use the toilet before leaving to drive home
I'm in the middle of a piss and suddenly I hear loud footsteps walking down the corridor from the barbershop, past the toilet (where I was) and down into the kitchen which was at the back of the building. These steps were no more than 5/8ft away at any moment
I immediately assumed it was somebody from the cafe downstairs, so I called out to tell them that I hadn't shut the toilet door and to warn them just in case they were going to come into the toilet
At this point, the person walking down the corridor decided to walk straight past the toilet door and down into the kitchen.
I found this odd for 2 reasons. 1) because I didn't hear them come up the stairs from the cafe to begin with. When these stairs were incredibly loud and creaky, it'd be impossible to NOT hear somebody walking up them even if they tried their hardest to be quiet.
2) they ignored me when I called out to warn them that I was in the toilet
So I flush the chain and I can still hear the person rummaging around in the kitchen even over the sound of the toilet flush (this is how close I was to them. This was not a distant sound)
I proceed to call out and tell them that I'm about to leave for the weekend and il see them next week when we reopen.
I head into the kitchen to see who was actually there, and nobody was in the kitchen at all. I race to the back door and the back door was locked with the keys still inside the door, meaning nobody would have left via that door as it was locked from the inside
I head straight downstairs to lockup the building and when I leave I realise that the cafe was completely shut, their car which was parked outside had gone and everyone had gone home.
Just to note, these footsteps were clear as day and the sound couldn't have been from any of the buildings next door to us, as the walls were incredibly thick and I've never ever heard a single noise from the next door buildings during the 10 years that I worked at this premises
The steps were unmistakabley loud. And the distinctive sound of each step slapping the laminate floor was something that I heard all day every day. So this sound was extremely familiar to me so its hard to put it down to something else other than footsteps
Would love to hear any thoughts of what you guys think it could have been or if anybody has experienced anything similar?

I have been slowly swapping out parts of my system to upgrade but every time I do I don't like the sound and go back to square one.
I had a wiim mini>Arcam irDac>Marantz PM6004>Monitor Audio BX2
My irDac recently died, and so I've been playing around with alternate DACs, every time I do it somehow makes the speakers sound worse. I've tried external DACs, and a Marantz PM6007 with inbuilt DAC. Every upgrade I've tried makes the soundstage suddenly incredible, but makes the speakers sound a bit hollow and harsh.
I was looking at upgrading the speakers as I think that's the sticking point. Is an upgrade to the KEF 350s from the old BX2s a big move up? Has anyone tried both of those speakers and would the KEF tame the high frequencies better than the Monitor Audios? My BX2s were about ÂŁ300 new I think, and the KEFs are selling for about ÂŁ350 these days so not sure if it'd actually be an upgrade, or if there's a next step up beyond that that anyone would reccomend?
Also I've seen positive things about both the Q150s and Q350s (weirdly they're basically the same price), is there any reason not to go for the 350s? I listen to music at quiet volumes a lot, which the 150s are maybe better at? Thanks!

I've tried external DACs, and a Marantz PM6007 with inbuilt DAC. Every upgrade I've tried makes the soundstage suddenly incredible, but makes the speakers sound a bit hollow and harsh.
I was looking at upgrading the speakers as I think that's the sticking point. Is an upgrade to the KEF 350s from the old BX2s a big move up? Has anyone tried both of those speakers and would the KEF tame the high frequencies better than the Monitor Audios? The beacons shifted back and forth all game and were constantly being grabbed and retaken by both sides. It had a bit of everything, with hats off to an enemy Loki who just ran those beacons and stretched us thin. I think at the start we would've lost if our Skyros player hadn't kept showing up to help at the right moment. I found myself claiming the centre beacon about four minutes in and just holding it from a constant attack for almost the entire rest of the match. I had one of those games where I timed everything just right and ended with a good kill count at the other end. Some tough opponents though, especially when I got Shenlou jumped mid brawl with a Typhon. It came down to the wire in the last minute of play, with a win only by the remaining three of us forcing our way onto one of their beacons with less than 15 secs left. I think it's easy to forgot how many good players there are out there. I might have carried in holding the middle but the rest of my team did a fantastic job running beacons and fighting to hold them. While the enemy just didn't give up, even when I thought they had over reached after claiming all the beacons at one point and seemed to be losing, they stepped up and pushed us again and the tension went back up. Iâve always trained as though Iâm going to compete, even though when I first started, I had no visions of actually competing. It was all just for fitness in the start.
Throughout consistent training and just naturally getting better, the goals had shifted.
First I just wanted to get fit, and I did. Then I wanted to start a business to inspire others to take up Muay Thai or martial arts training in general. I launched GYM NASTY.
So, whatâs the new goal?
Well, itâs to have GYM NASTY shorts be worn in a fight at Rajadamnern or Lumpini, inspiring people along the way.
Now Iâve lost over 88kg in weight, my injuries had been all cleared. I took it upon myself to start taking my training a bit more seriously.
Running before pads and sparring, weights, strength and conditioning. To be fair this is how I usually train, but I wanted to get in the right mindset and prepare as best as I could so I stepped up the intensity a little bit more. Thereâs no point signing up if your head isnât fully focussed on competing.
I didnât focus on anything specifically but I upped my running and skipping to help with footwork, cardio and conditioning.
The interclub was held at Kiatphontip in Leeds, a very highly respected gym around the world, especially in the UK Muay Thai scene.
Believe it or not, I actually knew who my opponent was as heâd spoken to me through GYM NASTY before and had shown a lot of support for my journey so it was really nice to share my first interclub with him.
I had warmed up around the ring ready to go in, I felt quite sharp and very energetic. Wasnât nervous at all which came as a surprise.
Once Iâd stepped in the ring my mind went blank, it felt as though Iâd just gone into auto pilot and everything was just going at 1,000 mph.
With it being my first time competing, I didnât fully expect my mind to go as blank as it did. I kind of zoned out and could only hear faint voices from my coaches.
In the second round I relaxed a bit more and felt more comfortable. I wasnât throwing as many fancy techniques as I usually experiment with in sparring, I was just trying to keep it basic without using too much energy.
It just goes to show, you definitely do fight how you train. Even though I wasnât fully comfortable, I resorted to what I knew best and just kept it basic without trying risky techniques.
My first interclub was a really good experience, I wasnât really worried at all and I handled it really well. I spent some time speaking with fighters and reading peopleâs interclub experiences online, just to get a feel of what I was letting myself in for.
Having competed now I can say itâs one of the best things Iâve ever done and I canât wait to fight again.

On the day of my interclub I weighed myself again, only to find out that I was .8kg lighter than I had entered. I wasnât too fussed about this, I spar a lot of bigger and taller opponents quite regularly. Being 5ft3 itâs something Iâve had to get used to over the years.The interclub was held at Kiatphontip in Leeds, a very highly respected gym around the world, especially in the UK Muay Thai scene.

Whatâs next for me competing?

What Does 'Have a Plan' look like?
We hear it often enough in the sub. "Have a plan" or "DCA" or even "DYOR" but what does that look like. For me, this is what, 'have a plan' looks like. Feel free to add any extra wisdom or lessons learned as well.
1- First step was the DYOR phase or determine what project to invest in. For fairly safe and sure price growth, Eth and BTC are two good bets. They're essentially the 'blue chips' of the crypto space and if you get confused or overwhelmed by all of the projects and the terminology, they're a good starting point. White papers are a great read though they can be technically daunting. Development plans or cycles help as well, like the bitcoin halving cycle / calendar or Eth development plan.
2- Second step is determine how much you can afford to invest that wouldn't break you if you lost it. This is the 'don't invest more than you can afford to lose' phase. Be honest and serious about your budget. For me, it's 250$ every two weeks out of each paycheck, with an additional bump whenever I get unexpected stuff, like a tax return or a small bonus this year, making sure not to stretch out or expand debt to be able to invest.
2.5 - We are here. You might still be DCA in or you might be holding to DCA but either way, both steps 2 and 3 are important.
3- Third step is determine your exit price. This will be the price at which you start to DCA out or phase out your profits. By DCA out, you ensure you're not just taking whatever the price is at the time of exit but averaging it near your exit price. For example, for me, I have a few Eth that will be DCA out ~10k. I'll take my profit on them in that range.
Having that price target in mind really helps with FOMO because knowing that i'm not selling til 10k means that right now, in the crab bear market, the day to day actions of the price chart, don't mean much because I'm DCAing in until I hit that exit price.
4- Fourth step is expand that plan. By that I mean, like above, I've got a few ETH set aside to be sold at 10k. The rest will keep staking for longer term with an exit price of ~25k. That might be 2030 or 2035, but knowing that exit point again helps me ignore the daily charts.
Step 5 for me is HUGE in fighting FOMO or worry about missed potential profits
5- Step 5 is plan where those profits are gonna go. I know I'll set ~1/3 to taxes (overplanning in case), a good chunk to pay off debt, and we're planning a small add-on to the house that those profits will take care of. Having that plan made out helps you hold firm until that exit price as well. If I know I need to be around 10k to sell, it reinforces that I don't care if the price point is 3000 or 2000, because I'm not selling anytime soon.
6- Step 6 is plan for a small powder bag. One way I do this is keeping some USDC on one of the CEXs, nominally staked or yielding and earning a bit. Usually at a higher rate than a savings account. This is the gambling bag or moonshot bag or secondary portfolio, however you want to call it. This is the money you set aside for when things catch your interest. Whether it's legitimate like Donuts or a pump and dump like Pepe that you want to throw some money in on a gamble. Plan for where those $$ come from and limit yourself to what you set aside for it and know your exit price as well.
7 - Step 7 is determine if there's anything you can do to grow passively. I mentioned that I have some Eth and I have it staked or earning passively to grow my bags. There are options to grow your bags that don't take $$ but might take some time. If there's a hobby you enjoy that might earn some crypto or something passive like using BAT browser or something along those lines that help you get a fix during a prolonged and incredibly BORING crab-bear market.

However, DOGE paved the way in popularising and cementing a narrative that was here to stay. Monitoring the entire bear market, one can notice that despite significant drawdowns, Doge never really dropped from the top 10-15 position. That shows unprecedented strength and the culture of meme coins was born. People feel psychological pain from this "unrealised money". Now they pay more attention and wait for the drop. Watching the linear chart, they say to themselves: "It is too expensive here, I shall wait for it to drop".The problem is it never drops as much as one would want and after 2-3 times of seeing that it keeps moving, one would eventually give in and make the purchase. This exact process will be entertained by millions of future market participants.Now this is the driving force of this chart, which cannot be comprehended by observing price action from a linear standpoint. Which is exactly the catch, you get my drift? Where are we today and where are we headed The extreme value area is now behind us. Now, to my also vague understanding of DFT, the zero temperature shenanigans is only related to the fact that we do not assume the electrons follow Fermi-Dirac statistics when it comes to orbital occupations, i.e. the orbitals are either occupied or not. Of course, at finite temperatures, the occupations are "smeared".
Anyways, I argued that DFT is not really zero temperature. It implicitly assumes it, but its formalism is agnostic to the temperature. There is no temperature in the Kohn-Sham equations, and whatever optimization algorithm you use, it has no temperature dependence. The algorithm converged to a triclinic structure because it is a local minima in the crystal's potential energy surface: that is all.
Am I correct with this? I still do not understand DFT to the fullest extent. My systems are molecular, so if I did an optimization of a molecule is it truly the "0 kelvin" structure?

My labmate gave a talk on their system. It is a crystal structure that has a phase transition at some temperature. Above that, it assumes a triclinic structure but below it, it is monoclinic.
My labmate did a DFT optimization of the triclinic polymorph of the pristine and the one with dopants. All structures converged to triclinic crystals as well.
