I just passed the last test!!! And now I’m a ged grad 👩🎓 . If I did it, then you guys can. I learnt English as a third language,I assume you guys are more proficient in English than I am so if you are than you shouldn’t worry much about RLA test and SS. The majority of the questions is about about comprehending what you re reading.
I had a messed up education growing up. I moved back and forth a couple of times from a country to another, it was cool when I was young, but the last move,during last 2 years of high school, did nothing but worsen my grades.
I was doing really bad and I couldn’t take it anymore, and my teachers didn’t help it. One of them, who I believed loathed me once told me “ you don’t even know how to live, you’re better off dead”
Another one , before the final exams made a long talk about the future and life blah blah blah, said something like” good luck, I know you will do great in your future and that you will succeed at uni …. Except for one person who’s already a failure and won’t achieve anything” She said the last part pointing her index finger at me.
Anyways, now I’m a ged grad, I’m planning on continuing my studies. I wanna thank this community who helped me find motivation to actually make the first step. So thanks

Back in Grade 3 I found this book in my school library and picked it up to read, now unfortunately the school year ended before I could finish the book and I never found it again.
But when I found it online again I just had to pick it up and I don’t regret it.
Taking place in the near future hover cars have taken over the world utilising magnetic technology to sit roughly a foot of the ground. Now hover car racing is the premier sport of the world and that’s when our protagonist, 14 year old Jason Chaser enters the fray with his 12 year old borderline autistic Brother, The Bug (his actual name and he is described as borderline autistic).
The two are a power duo with Jason being the daredevil who can expertly fly the car and the Bug being a mathematical whizz making him perfect as the navigator.
As a racing nerd I was able to give it some leeway but also some criticisms.
For one, all safety regulations are thrown out the window with the only safety coming from the racing circuits end being ‘dead zones’ which catch the cars if they go too far of track. But aren’t present everywhere. The hover cars are fitted with reinforced cockpits and assumably a roll cage with an ejection seat on the side. However the tracks seems to make the sport more dangerous by adding things like ‘demag strips’ which remove power from the mag drives (the things that make the cars float and move, essentially the tyres of the new era) which make the cars crash out most of the time past the speed of sound. Then there are occasionally extra hazards such as a ‘meat grinder’ which is a tunnel that closes in on the driver until only the cockpit can fit. Now as a racing nerd, the governing body of most Motorsports, the FIA would NEVER allow this at 300 KM/H, let alone 800!
What I did love about the book was the use of racing terms, being Motorsport is underrepresented in fictional media I loved seeing terms like hairpin and apex being thrown into the fray and it was great! Another thing I loved was the characters, the good guys were well thought out and had some great character development. Now the bad guys are comically evil, and this isn’t a bad thing given the demographic, spoiler >!i.e a race fixing bookkeeper or a Frenchman named Fabian who uses dirty tactics Now being the book was made for younger kids it was way below my reading level and I saw all the twists coming, this isn’t a complaint per-se because I was reading the book to tie up a loose end more than anything but it was still an enjoyable read and I do recommend it to you if you want to turn off most of your brain and enjoy the vroom vroom of hover cars! It’s also a great book for younger kids if you ignore the swearing (shit being the worst word) as it gives some good life lessons!

I have this ex, he was my bestfriend and MU before we seperated. We seperated because of lack of communication. It really broke me that time.
I am a graduating junior high student, and we recently had our retreat not so long ago. There I realized that I still had lingering feelings for my ex. Story time: We had an activity, we had to “Go to the person we’re angry at or Go to the person you want to reconcile with.” (Take note, we were on good but awkward terms because he applogized and danced me in prom) So the activity went on with me and other classmates crying, and then later he came up to me. I was shocked because I didn’t think he would do so. We chatted for a bit. He was trembling and was at a loss for words. I was also trembling and forgot what I wanted to say for the past year. I was planning what I would say if he would come up to me again but when he was infront of me I felt like crying more. All I managed to say was “Na-mimiss kita, bwisit ka”, I stretched my arms wide and he hugged me. What shocked me the most is he said it back. “I missed you too.” We were later instructed to go back to out seats to end the activity. Doon palang, nabitin na ako sa usapan. I wasn’t able to talk to him for the rest of the night because I was too flustered about what had happened. My heart was racing and my cheeks were really red.
That small moment with my ex made me think about things. I always had feelings despite having 2 different partners the whole year. He was always there.
Now, graduation is coming up. I am transferring away from this school where we grew up in. We won’t see each other for a while. I want to tell him that I still have feelings and that he still is special to me. However, my gut feeling is telling me not to because it’ll make things awkward. But there’s also part of me that wants to say it for peace of my heart and mind and that no matter the response, I was able to say it. I’m just really afraid.

We had a very long, difficult, and important conversation with our mothers last night. We are posting this with their permission, hoping that it might help others like us.
It's hard for us to imagine any other 16-year-olds having a more wonderful year than we have had. How many people find their life partners at our young age? We trained our bodies, dove into our respective art forms, gained insight into our future careers, earned/saved a lot of money, made many friends, explored Buddhism, and joined two families into one.
But we were building a new family on a foundation of deceit and this is what had to change. Back to our conversation.
"We had led you to believe we met at school volleyball team practice back in September. We told you we discovered our soulmates and we were queer. From there we lived hard and well, became a family of six, and then everything else followed. We don't regret a second.
"We just left out one fact...we met and began our relationship one year earlier when we were in 9th grade. We had kept it secret from you. Sound familiar? It is like the story of Emma Nolan and Alyssa Greene in The Prom."
It is hard to describe the look in their eyes. We saw disbelief, shock, hurt, anger, and mostly a sense of betrayal.
Muma: How did you really meet?
Lita: Actually, we told you the story. In fact, we have been leaving clues all over the place kind of hoping we would be discovered.
Heidi: This goes back to September 2022. I was on the crosstown bus. I saw some boys get on. One stayed in the front and the others placed themselves in the aisle going down. The boy in the front grabbed a girl's phone and they passed it to each other. The boy at the end got the phone and walked out of the rear door. I had seen the entire thing and just followed him. He thought he had committed the perfect crime and I approached him. "I saw everything. I know your face, what you are wearing, and your sneakers. I know your friends. Give me the phone and I won't say a word." He did. I walked back to the bus and there was the girl with the bus driver and a couple of cops at the side of the bus. She was sobbing and they were trying to comfort her. I went up, told them what had happened, and gave her the phone back.
Mom: I remember the story. And you are saying that the girl you helped was Lita.
Muma: And the little heroine you told Pupa and me about was Heidi?
Lita: Yes. I was an absolute wreck, completely unconsolable. I felt violated and humiliated. The girl grabbed me by the arm and simply said "Come, let's sit down." She brought me to a cute ice cream restaurant she knew near Bloomingdale's. What's your favorite flavor? I said Plain Vanilla. What's yours? Chocolate. We looked at each other's skin and just had to laugh.
Heidi: I can't describe how I was feeling while we eating ice cream. Waves and waves and waves of emotions hit me.
Lita: All I could do was look Heidi in the eyes and hold her hand.
Mom: I remember that story very clearly.
Lita: We exchanged numbers and IG. Then came texts, calls, secret hookups, the first kiss, and the rest.
Heidi: It was like The King And I, "Hello Young Lovers."
Lita: It was High School Admissions time and I encouraged Heidi to audition for LaGuardia for the 10th grade.
Mom: So that was what that was all about?
Muma: But I don't understand why you felt a need to keep your relationship a secret for an entire year!
This was really the hardest part of the conversation. We talked about all the emotions we were experiencing. What, we are in love? We are lesbians? We are sneaking behind our parents' backs? We are watching lesbian porn and acting it out? What, I am with a black/white girl? All this shame at once and we couldn't figure a way out until Girls Volleyball. We even left some hints on this blog in case you read it.
Muma: What is most painful to me is that this was the time you needed your mothers the most and you went through the entire year all alone.
We are four strong woman. We were at a place far beyond "How dare you? This has to end. You are grounded. Scotland is off." There was thoughtful silence, long looks into each other's eyes, and then cuddling on the couch and watching The Good Doctor.
We all had the same thought. How are we going to tell Dad and Pupa?

In a similar vein - I've noticed the same around energy levels. When I take my girl out for a bedtime wee (literally just round the corner and back), her energy goes straight from 0 to 100 - from sleeping to hopping / galloping and I feel so bad to be providing such a limited experience and I wonder how I'm going to settle her.
We get back into the house and she takes herself to bed immediately and is completely KTHXBYE. Straight back from 100 to 0 with absolutely no graded scale all 😂

So I have been battling an anal fissure for 7 months now. Using conservatory methods and oinments nifedipine, diltiazem. The fissure seemed to be healing and then re-teared for no apparent reason. About 2 months ago a skin tag developed so I knew it is the moment when fissure became chronic. The last month pain was way better because I managed to keep stool soft with stool softener.
In January I had a colonoscopy to exclude something else and they said I have internal hemorrhoids.

Other surgeon said I have internal hemorrhoids and he wants to rubber band them. He said that because of hemhorroids the anus tends to need to open way more than usual in order for a BM to pass. So he said without fixing hemorrhoids first the anal fissure will retar. He said rubber branding has no risks (he even wanted to perform one band right there at the first meeting with him). But I wonder if I really need that... As I have read the recovery is long and painful. And I also did not have hems simptoms before the anal fissure.. maybe sometimes a little itching but no bleeding, no prolapse
I am sooo confused since I do not want to make any unnecessary interventions but I also want to heal my AF...

I had a toy- the London 2012 one eyed Olympic mascot that would play a song & dance when you pressed a button on its foot. On two occasions this toy turned on by itself, both times in the middle of the night, it would sing, dance & then stop abruptly. It would not complete the full dance cycle. I did a lot of research into this and convinced myself that it was caused by faulty batteries. Apparently that’s a thing, so it very well may have idk.
Next, I was having a shower home alone when the light turned off. The flip was psychically switched. I was the only one home. This could be just a bad switch, it’s not really enough for me to consider paranormal. But worth mentioning in the context.
Then things got a bit stranger, I woke up randomly in the middle of the night to see what seemed like a black tall shadow, but standing up, not like a shadow on the floor. It was facing me but wasn’t in my room it was just outside the doorway in the corridor. As quick as I saw it, it had moved out of view, I immediately ran after it, because I knew if I didn’t confirm it wasn’t a ghost it would freak me out for weeks. I was 13 or so back then. so I got up and ran into the corridor and just about saw a black blurr enter my parents room via the half opened door I run in and nothing was there. I don’t know if this one was a paranormal experience. The whole thing happened extremely fast and I had just woken up that very second. It it was strange. But I have sleep paralysis like twice a week, maybe this was a particularly strong case of it.

So, the main experience. I was 16 now, with my sister 18, it’s a school morning and we’re in the living room. There’s a corridor that leads into the living room. We suddenly hear very loud running footsteps coming down the corridor, towards the room we are in. we can’t see into the corridor but we can see who pops out as they enter the living room, which is at the end of the corridor. We are weirded out by the sound, since we are the only ones home. We both look up to the entrance of the room in anticipation. The running gets closer and closer until finally in runs what I can only describe as an outline of a human, anthropomorphic shape, but blurry, the kind of blurry things are when in motion (which it was), it runs into the living room and right back out down the same corridor. It barely stops and we hear clear as day the thunderous footsteps that seem to go on for longer than the length of our corridor. The entity itself was short, the height of a child, maybe 7 or 8. we only saw it from the torso up as between us was a sofa. It was wearing a bright Orange plain tshirt and its face was a Caucasian skin tone colour. It seemed to have short black hair It didn’t have any facial features at all. Maybe because it was moving quite fast and it blurred but it definitely seemed to be faceless.
Me and my sister both heard and saw the exact same thing.

I don't even know where to start. I'm a 19 year old girl, I live in a third world country and I'm kinda drowning currently.
I'm very autistic, I can talk and do some school stuff but I can't adapt to work environments at all and holding down a job has been impossible even though I've gone through training or a month or two of work in like a dozen places. It just never sticks. And this is a huge problem and relevant to my situation.
I'm currently in college too, on top of that, but because of the autism it's been impossible to keep up with the pace and truly learn and I've been failing exams and other college obligations. It's all going downhill.
I don't like going to college at all to begin with, but the crux of my issue is that I hail from a very abusive, very strict family and they demand I not only finish college but do it with good grades too. And I depend on them financially. Now I got into this college on a full scholarship because I managed to get through previous schooling with good grades (with extreme pressure and mental breakdowns and stress put on me by my family) so my family doesn't have to pay for school. Still, they pay for my housing and food.
They don't believe I'm struggling, they're those types of mental health deniers, and my worth to them is directly tied into my college performance. They've threatened to cut me off if I fail college before and often blackmail me by withholding enough money for me to live (there was one month where I had to go hungry a lot because I couldn't cover everything with rent and bills and public transport fees etc.).
The problem is that I'm depending on them, and my inability to work makes it impossible for me to become independent. I keep trying to find jobs that might be possible for me to do but they either don't want students or want people with a lot of work experience which I don't have. Or they just don't call me back.
I'm just so depressed and honestly just so scared. I don't want to become homeless and destitute, and I wish I could handle college because I know a college diploma is useful in life, but I just can't. Every time I think I finally did a little better in school or learned a bit more, my results come back bad anyways. It's so stressful because the only livelihood I have access to currently depends on my college success but I'm not succeeding despite trying my best.
I don't know what to do. I don't know what I can do either. It all feels hopeless. My family looms so large because they control money and therefore resources and I don't know how I can ever break free. I'm just so lost.

I'm very autistic, I can talk and do some school stuff but I can't adapt to work environments at all and holding down a job has been impossible even though I've gone through training or a month or two of work in like a dozen places. It just never sticks. And this is a huge problem and relevant to my situation.
I'm currently in college too, on top of that, but because of the autism it's been impossible to keep up with the pace and truly learn and I've been failing exams and other college obligations. It's all going downhill.
I don't like going to college at all to begin with, but the crux of my issue is that I hail from a very abusive, very strict family and they demand I not only finish college but do it with good grades too. And I depend on them financially. Now I got into this college on a full scholarship because I managed to get through previous schooling with good grades (with extreme pressure and mental breakdowns and stress put on me by my family) so my family doesn't have to pay for school. Still, they pay for my housing and food.
They don't believe I'm struggling, they're those types of mental health deniers, and my worth to them is directly tied into my college performance. They've threatened to cut me off if I fail college before and often blackmail me by withholding enough money for me to live (there was one month where I had to go hungry a lot because I couldn't cover everything with rent and bills and public transport fees etc.).
The problem is that I'm depending on them, and my inability to work makes it impossible for me to become independent. I keep trying to find jobs that might be possible for me to do but they either don't want students or want people with a lot of work experience which I don't have. Or they just don't call me back.
I'm just so depressed and honestly just so scared. I don't want to become homeless and destitute, and I wish I could handle college because I know a college diploma is useful in life, but I just can't. Every time I think I finally did a little better in school or learned a bit more, my results come back bad anyways. It's so stressful because the only livelihood I have access to currently depends on my college success but I'm not succeeding despite trying my best.
I don't know what to do. I don't know what I can do either. It all feels hopeless. My family looms so large because they control money and therefore resources and I don't know how I can ever break free. I'm just so lost.

I just finished Immunology with Porter (was one of my CLS pre-reqs) and this class is no joke. It was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken and I already have my degree in Microbiology. A few weeks ago, I felt dejected upon seeing my results for the USTET and ACET, both were my dream schools but unfortunately I didn't get in. I hoarded the past posts of people in Tomasino and the ateneo sub especially in the megathread in hopes I may be able to get myself reconsidered, from getting details such as the formatting to understanding the purpose, contents, and such of the reconsideration letter which I was able to make at least a week after the results were released. There was this one particular comment though which set me interacting with people of prestige and that involved the letter of endorsement.
The comment detailed how his friend was able to get into UST after talking to a Dominican Priest whom she was able to show her masterful works. That drove me into actively looking for priests to talk to myself. I didn't know anyone, nor did I know the process, but I was ready, I was ready to be interviewed, ready to show my works, ready to endorse myself to whomever was willing to help me in my endeavor, which also involved helping my friend attain a letter of his own. I asked my church friends if they knew any, and even joined religious groups on facebook to see if I could get into contact with anyone and after a while in passivity, a church leader friend messaged me. Apparently, he knew a Dominican friar and so, I pleaded with him which I really didn't have to given we were close and he was really willing to help. After detailing my situation, he set us up with the said friar in the Sto. Domingo church.
Fast forward to a week later, we were able to have an insightful conversation with him, but unfortunately he said he couldn't help our situation but recommended me to go into UST to talk to the priests there, or as an alternative which my aforementioned church leader friend and a priest from the church endorsed, approach the bishop of Cubao himself. I do admit that the meeting demoralized me, and I went home rather broken but a good sleep, short conversation with a friend whom I was also helping get into UST, and Miki Matsubara's Mayonaka No Door later, and I'm back in the game. I wrote a letter to the bishop for the both of us and asked his hand in endorsing us, especially that we were alumni in the school that housed the seat of the Diocese with weights to carry. Honestly, I wasn't really able to pour my heart and soul into that letter, unlike my reconsideration letters for ADMU and UST which I worked on in a computer shop for better focus, and I thought it wasn't written that well, but I gave what I could give, and was ready to face the uphill process I thought it was going to face. It helped that we had a late mother's day dinner to seal the day too.
A day later, I went to the obispado and gave the letter to the guard with whom I conversed with again after an errand in school regarding my DLSU grades form. He told me to come back yesterday and I did, unfortunately, still nothing but this time the different person on the desk asked me for my contact details. I was optimistic, and was willing to wait even more, but I didn't think it would be as quick as one day later. This morning, at least hours after I had once again checked my emails for updates, they called and told me to return. I was excited, and rushed to leave. "This is it" I thought. "We finally got an endorsement letter!" The guard enthusiastically gave them to me and the sister, whom I assume was Bishop's secretary, asked me to check if it was alright to avoid any issues and after reading the short but meaningful contents, I was happy.
My happiness was fanned further by seeing the K-Wave canned coke finally arrive in the Philippines after having it in Osaka.
Although right now time and slots are our enemy, being endorsed by the bishop is a good thing, a relatively big milestone, and a good impression I suppose to both universities run by Catholic orders. I didn't get any letters from either the Jesuits or Dominicans, but I am happy I got to meet with the latter in the quest for España and Katipunan. Thank you so much bishop!!!!
