I am updating my resume, and I asked for multiple reviews from different areas, different continents, but got back one note: the `back-office` or `admin` application is something that does not show what is it.
My sentence (two version):
`...Refactored a back-office application CircleCI deployment with Kubernetes, Docker, and GitHub workflows to deploy to AWS...`
and
`...Refactored an admin application CircleCI deployment with Kubernetes, Docker, and GitHub workflows to deploy to AWS...`
The application is - For the actual company - Only the company employees have account and permission to use it - Not for users/endusers/customers - All data (users, claims, messages, company content, website data, comments, etc) handled there - Usually some kind of online interface, like a website (even if its on intranet and not public)
I have seen and heard these terms, words ("admin", "back-office application") many-many times, but now I wonder, are there better words for such software?
In Berlin, Germany, I met a dozens of companies that used the `back-office` word to describe their software, in UK and Sweden I met a dozens of companies recently and they used the `admin` or `administration` keywords for it.
My question is: what would be the right / proper / valid english terminology for this kind of software?

After opposition from priests, the administration and Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) decided to allow all pilgrims to have darshan (sacred viewing) inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Kedarnath temple from Tuesday onwards. Previously, due to large crowds, devotees could only view the deity from the outer Sabha Mandap hall. This new decision comes after discussions between authorities and priests on Monday.

Handling the Pilgrim Influx

Kedarnath is witnessing an unprecedented number of pilgrims this year, with over 30,000 devotees per day. To manage this, the shrine's inner sanctum was initially closed off. However, after hearing the priests' demands to give equal access to all, the decision to reopen it was made by officials like Kedarnath Yatra Magistrate Anshul Singh and BKTC CEO RC Tiwari.

Char Dham Registration Extended

In a related development, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a meeting on the Char Dham Yatra (pilgrimage to four sacred sites) in Dehradun on Monday. A key decision was to extend the ban on offline registration for the yatra till May 31st. Originally, this ban was supposed to be lifted on May 19th. However, online registration will continue.
The authorities are employing natural language processing (NLP) techniques to gauge the sentiments and needs of pilgrims. Buongiorno ragazzi, vorrei avere un consiglio su una situazione. Un mesetto fa ho fatto il colloquio per un'azienda in cui ero molto interessato a lavorare, all'estero. La ragazza dell'hr mi richiama stesso il pomeriggio per chiedermi quanto mi mancava alla laurea ( due esami + tesi) e quali fossero le mie tempestiche, sentita la mia risposta mi risponde con un: non preoccuparti che troviamo una soluzione.
Circa una settimana fa ricevo una mail con "We are excited to be sending you an offer of employment! " in cui c'era l'offerta economica, i benefit e mi si diceva di accettare e di inviare i documenti per procedere e di accordare una data di inizio, in più ricevo una chiamata ( a cui non rispondo perchè stavo guidando " e nell'arco di un paio d'ore una mail con scritto "at the moment we have decided not to proceed with your application for this role."
Sostanzialmente alle 12: offerta ( pdf fatto bene, con tutti i documenti richiesti, offerta economica etc)
13 chiamata
15 questa email "automatica" di rifiuto
io purtroppo in queste 3 ore non avevo possibilità di aprire la mail o rispondere a chiamate perchè letteralmente ero rimasto a piedi con la macchina, aspettavo il carro attrezzi e son dovuto tornare con i treni.
Ho provato a richiamare ma le linee erano occupate ho invuato una mail ma non ho ricevuto risposta (4 giorni fa)
Poichè l'azienda è una azienda molto bella, l'offerta è buona ed è anche il ruolo che vorrei fare post laurea sarebbe un peccato perdere l'occasione, come la vedete questa situazione?
Cioè dal canto mio non voglio mai credere che per non aver risposto a una chiamata mi hanno scartato in un'ora ( sarebbe una red flag assurda e quindi problemi loro) , quello che penso io è che magari la mail di rifiuto sia quella automatica (?) quando ti levano dalla lista dei candidati (?).
cosa mi consigliate?
Mi consigliate di inviare un altra mail? provare a chiamare (acnhe se ho il numero dell'hr ma perché mi ha chiamato, non so neanche se effettivamente è quello aziendale o altro)

So, I've received an email from NTU stating that I'll be doing an online interview on the astronaut platform. I have a few queries and would be very thankful for any insights provided!
  1. How can I tell which course this interview is for? My initially thoughts were for IEM as I see IEM1A in the email though I'm not too sure.
  2. Do I need a webcam to record myself? Currently don't have a webcam, only got a mic cuz my laptop broke not too long ago, and I only have my Pc.
  3. Is it face to face? I've read up on several threads regarding this and it doesn't seem to be the case but would love some clarification.

I work a Mon-Fri 9-5 doing social media for a fairly large company, however there are only 3 of us doing this job. Like most companies, our social media isn't monitored over the weekend. Of course I take every precaution during the week to make sure scheduled content goes up properly over the weekend, but if something happens — not my problem. I'm not working. My hours are 9-5, that's a Monday problem. Unfortunately shit happens with the internet sometimes, glitches can occur.
However, my employer is NOOOOT happy with this mentality. I should be checking in every weekend. Which, fair enough, I'm happy to take a peek throughout the weekend. But I am not working. What if I'm out and about? What if I'm travelling? This has already happened — I haven't checked in because I had a jam packed weekend travelling, a post went out all glitchy, and I got the "this is your job, you need to pay more attention and do better" spiel. I should've pulled up my work laptop, hopped online, and fixed it, regardless of where I am, obviously. At a theme park? Better have packed your laptop. Maybe the beach? It's not like water damages laptops right, bring it along. Sand can't hurt either.
This is driving me absolutely crazy. At this point I'm afraid to be away from my phone and laptop at all because "what if I get a message to check something out?" or "what if I miss something and I get in trouble?" I used to love my job, but at this point I don't even know how much longer I can stay. Every time something goes wrong it feels like my bosses are going "do you know how stupid you are? this is your job."
Is there even anything I can do about this besides sacrifice my personal life or quit?

Regarding the form, on part 8 (declaration of foreign employee), there is a question ‘have you ever been issued a work visa by another country?
Does it mean an existing valid work visa? Or any visa issued whether it’s valid or cancelled or expired?
Background: I worked previously overseas with a working visa but it is cancelled since I already resigned.
I had chosen “no” since I understood it as an existing valid working visa and sent a filled copy of the form to the HR. Is there any chance that the application will got rejected if I put it wrongly?

Salve a tutti! Riposto qui perché penso di aver sbagliato sub al primo tentativo 😅
Avrei bisogno di qualche consiglio con una situazione abbastanza particolare in cui sono incappato. In pratica, quest'anno ho iniziato a lavorare online per un'azienda americana che offre una piattaforma sulla quale è possibile, completando task che riguardano la programmazione ed il training di intelligenze artificiali, ricevere pagamenti su PayPal.
Essendo la paga abbastanza buona per giusto un paio di ore di lavoro al giorno, col tempo ho iniziato a lavorare sempre più assiduamente, e per essere sicuro di fare tutto in regola ho iniziato a sentire un commercialista, che mi ha dato due opzioni: aprire partita IVA, o dichiarare gli introiti come reddito occasionale. Date le percentuali decisamente più vantaggiose del regime forfettario ho scelto la P.IVA.
Il dilemma parte adesso: dopo aver impostato tutto, andando a fare la prima fattura, mi sono accorto di non aver nessun ID fiscale di alcun tipo per l'azienda. Non lo trovo online, e contattandoli non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta soddisfacente. Dato che a quanto pare nella maggior parte degli stati usano semplicemente un modulo generato a fine anno da paypal per dichiarare il reddito da 'self-employed" (quello che da loro si chiama modulo 1099 se non erro) non hanno necessità di comunicare un'informazione del genere. Senza questo ID non posso compilare fatture valide, e senza fatture non posso sfruttare la PIVA.
Il problema principale, se ho ben capito, è che se dichiarassi i miei redditi nell'altra maniera andrei a pagare tipo più del 50% tra IRPEF etc, che non è il massimo :// (contate che ho già superato la soglia dei 5000)
C'è qualcuno che ha familiarità con situazioni del genere e può darmi qualche consiglio? Il mio commercialista lo vedo alquanto spaesato. Qualsiasi informazione sarebbe davvero apprezzata! Scusate per il wall of text e grazie a tutti in anticipo :)
