Maybe down the line but I do not know enough about overclocking and if it would be overkill for what I am looking for.

Hi all, so obviously I'm running arch, with kde plasma 6 Wayland.
And for some reason I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on.
Every time I try and change my sddm login screen it boots up and I'm left on a black screen with my mouse, only to have to change to tty3 to do a timeshift to get the original sddm theme back so I can actually login.
It's driving me crazy I can edit every other aspect of the PC but not the login. It does not fit my theme 😭
EDIT: oh and I'm using the xorg session thingy

I'm a complete beginner to PC building and am in the market for one in the general future as I'm sensing my 6 year old gaming laptop is beginning to slow down. I wanted to see what kinds of parts would be ideal for my usage.

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using 

I'll most likely only be using this for gaming. League of Legends, Binding of Isaac, RDR2, NBA 2K, Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim. Plus, I'd love to be able to play future large games like Elder Scrolls 6, GTA 6, if it's not the case that they come out in 10 years haha.
I'm hoping that it will be able to run these games on at least medium settings (but honestly, I've lived my life on low settings, so I won't be too bothered if not). I definitely prioritize FPS and low lag over high graphics.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes? 

Hard line maximum is probably $1000, but I'd love to be in the $800 range. Since I'm a pretty casual gamer, I'm hoping that it'll allow me to save more money. The lower the better!

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy. 

I'm just trying to get a sense of things, especially what kind of specs I'll need for my gaming needs. I'll probably realistically buy one within the next 3 months.

In California. There is a Mircocenter within 50 miles, so I can definitely go. But I'm unfamiliar with it and would love to know what I would go for.

I'll probably be using a regular wired keyboard and cheap wired mouse that I have. My monitor is a Dell S2721QS 27 Inch 4K UHD, but I'm not too set on getting the best possible graphics for the monitor.

I'd prefer a simple build (probably black), with no RGB or other bright lights. The sleeker and less bulky the better, but I understand that it's not going to be like a Mac Mini haha. Only real preference is no RGB.

I believe so? I don't have anything prepared, so I'm guessing I'm going to have to buy Windows. Since it's just going to be used for gaming, probably any cheap, basic Windows. I've only ever had computers where Windows was already installed, so I'd love to be educated on this if anyone has a strong opinion!

I've recently had some minor success on YouTube making content, but the computer I have been using has been well below what is needed for quality video editing, so I have saved some to do a build. I've always had some casual interest in making my own build, but this being my first attempt, would love some guidance. I'd consider myself more tech savvy than an average individual, but I have 0 advanced knowledge of PC components/what works with what other than what I have learned over the past couple days researching this preparing to buy.
