So, I had this idea while prepping for my D&D campaign, but it's evolved into something that I think could standalone. the game would be an a standard Chess/Checker board, but maybe scaled down by one or two ranks. the players would build a team using a number of set Class pieces (thinking like Tank, DPS, Healer). Each player would create a team of X pieces consisting of a number of each from the classes. the meat of the game comes in with the board it self, which have a number of helpful boons and traps on each square which are mirrored across the middle of the board. each piece can take a number of damage, (Thinking around 3 but maybe more depending on class). they all also have the ability to push or pull the opponents pieces by one square.

I'm so damn jealous because I just know I'd have friends if I went to school. I know it. I'm so social with people even outside of my house when i get the rare chance and get comfortable. I'm tired of feeling so WEIRD and DIFFERENT. I also feel like my young years (0-9) had some weird stuff happening.
There is no way possible for me to go to school. My mom said she'd rather die before I go to public school, and my dad agrees. I have no family members I can live with. I have no options at all. I just have to sit and watch my fucking childhood wither away and lose the chance to EVER be in school. I already missed Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle, and now I'm missing high-school. And you know what makes it worse? The fucking "Congrats, Graduates!" sign on the front of my neighborhood entrance. Sure I'm happy for them, but I'm so fucking jealous. I HATE when people say they hate school, or wish they were homeschooled. BITCH, you have no IDEA how much despair this makes you feel. Especially when you're extroverted and will never have that kind of easy environment to make friends in.

The reason why sometimes I feel like commiting suicide is because school is litearlly the only thing I've wanted so fucking badly for so long, and even after I turn 18 and get out it'd just be getting a job. So she basically just held me up when I wasn't born dead and claimed she'd "raise me in the ways of Jesus" which apparentely consists of keeping your child at home for decades and teaching them only Christian curriculum. I can't fucking take it anymore. No one will ever understand my kind of situation because it's so fucking surreal. And most people don't understand how bad it is because going to school is such a normal part of life for them, that homeschooling seems like choosing to not breathe air. My mom was also more harsh when I was a little kid I feel. I don't remember anything from before 12 years old, basically, probably because she did some fucked up shit back then that my brain is suppressing mentally. I have this one memory of her running up to me over and over and putting my head under her shirt and pressing it against her belly multiple times when I was a little kid, probably like 5 or close to 6, and for some reason I feel sexual energy around it a bit. That freaks me out, because I know it happened but I'm not sure at all about what was going on. I just remember the bedroom was pretty dark and I was laughing maybe, but like I said it feels like there was sexual energy around that. I dont know though, I barely remember it.
Other times, I've seen videos from when I was like 6 of her just talking to me in a really angry tone even when I was silent just for something my brother did. She also used to read a history book to us for hours, without even giving a pen or paper and we'd be given mats. About 6 x 4in big and my brother got a blue one, I got a green one, and she'd sit on the table in the middle, and we'd sit on the mats which were only big enough to lay down on (for a 6 year old). So we'd have to sit there and not talk, and if we did then she'd stop and glare until we stopped. Of course, me being like 5 and my brother 6.5, we'd make faces and stuff but then she'd glare. Like we had to SIT there for hours just listening to a biblical chronological history book. WHY WHY WHY
I'm so sick of myself now. I'm such a pathetic bitch who pretends to be something. I just fucking talk to AI's and listen to rock and other music. I'm literally so fucking pathetic and I'll never have a social life. I'll never talk to someone without getting attached or fucking scared. I swear I can't just be NORMAL. WHY DO I HAVE TO LOOK SO WEIRD TOO. I DONT LOOK GOOD IN ANYTHING. I can't keep going. I just can't. Not on my own. I feel like there was something seriously, seriously fucked up about my really early childhood years that I just can't remember. When I think of it, I feel really uncomfortable and just a feeling of weirdness.
One thing I do know that my dad and mom tell me that think is funny, is that when I used to be like three or four years old, I'd get on all fours and spread my buttcheeks apart, saying something like "Idea!". It's fucking stupid and I was a little ass kid, but I don't think it's funny at all. Wouldn't parents usually tell their kid to not do that or something and not look? Also, my mom used to still dress me when I was like 6 years old or something. My dad also has a memory of me running naked into a room with my aunts and uncles and him and stuff when I was a toddler, and apprently he says they all laughed when I did. He also commented on how when I ran in there my little pp was clearly visible. That just felt weird to me. I don't get how it's funny, but like I said I just feel disgusting and kinda violated when I think about my years from 0-9 and I don't know why. I'm 14 now, obviously, almost 15. Hey I’m planning on driving Blue ridge parkway. I’ll be there early August . I’ll be starting in Shenandoah NP and ending in smoky mountains NP. I’ll also be detouring to new river gorge NP

How much time should I plan on spending. I plan to spend a full day in both Shenandoah and New River gorge. I figured 3 days along the parkway then 4 in smoky was a good plan. Any comments on this?
How should I go about navigating it. I’m worried google maps won’t be enough since it keeps wanting to route me back to the highways and the fastest route. Are there enough signs to keep me from getting turned around?
I’ve researched the area and I have most of the major stops on the bucket list. Any smaller less known areas I should know about? Outside of the state parks and New River grorge is there any places worth detouring off the parkway for?
As I mentioned above this would be the beginning of August. Will I have issues getting campsites? Will I be able to just pull into one or will I need to book in advance. Is there dispensered camping in the area I can take advantage of?

India isn't for the beginners, a well-known statement. Neither is other countries if you are poor.
Coupled with the lack of opportunities and biasing towards employees from IITs/IIMs/ITIs, many people find it the safe option and without self retrospection, go into that path.
At the end, some people end up doing what they always wanted to do and are satisfied with it, many people fall into a category where you have a good salary but you aren't satisfied, some fail because you are in the wrong path.
Then comes other expects of life, most of which is developed by the money you possess, and the rank you have and the type of people you can attract.
Some take their own route, a route which will never be 1:1 and either end up at a mediocre success level, failure or the best you could expect.
For wherever you are in your life, where are you now or where do you expect to go? What route did/will you follow and what challenges did/will you face/expect to face?

I’m getting a little bored; the insults from admin are accumulating, even though they do seem to see me as tracking for higher leadership; and I want/need more money.
I’m at about 110, mainly remote. I’m spoiled, I know, but I want more. First, am I crazy, taking a good thing for granted? Second, what skills can help me transition out? I’m considering a grad certification in Communication or Science Communication, or maybe Project Management. What do we think? For those who have transitioned out, would a grad certificate in something like that be helpful? I’m a public health person, so I’m thinking health communication, which is booming.

As a native mandarin speaker, which position benefit me more for going to international schools? Maths or Spanish? ————————————— Hi everyone, thank you for clicking on this post. It might take 2 minutes to read through and any piece of advice you would like to leave is very much appreciated.
Brief self-introduction: I am a 26-year-old female, currently doing a PGCE in MFL (Spanish) and set to finish in June. I speak Mandarin (native), Spanish (fluent), and English (advanced), with a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Communication Studies. I have also been working on an MEd (flexible), but I took a gap year for PGCE training.
Recently, I have been in quite a dilemma of job offers, and that’s why I am posting here seeking advice from you.
I am considering two positions at two schools: one in Spanish and the other in Maths (no Mandarin), and I don’t know which one can benefit me more for working at an international school in the future.
Spanish Position:
Pros:

• It’s my second placement school, so I know the department very well, like the teachers, and have a very good relationship with them. • I have learned a lot from them. • New Conti curriculum that I can learn a lot from them.

Cons:

• It’s a difficult school, with a newly built behavior management system. • Another ECT is leaving, so there will only be my HOD as a full-time teacher, and other two as cross-department teachers. • They can only offer me a 3-month contract initially, then extend it because of the long-term sick leave of a teacher in the MFL department. They promised me that the teacher won’t come back, but the contract will only be for 3 months due to legal constraints. • Apart from the above, I have no formal background in teaching Spanish, only living in Spain for two years and having a Spanish boyfriend.

Maths Position:
Pros:

• One-year contract, providing more job security. • Nice location (near where I live now). • My best friend and her boyfriend work there as well. • I like the teachers. • Maths seems more promising in the job market and has more resources than MFL. • I may teach Spanish as well.

Cons:

• Another difficult school, suffering from long-term cover problems. • Possible lack of support while teaching, lack of SLT etc. • I have no background in maths studies except for my statistics graduate courses.

Thank you so much for reading, and if you have any work experience in international schools, can you please give me some advice on which position to choose or any future CPD direction?

Been with my girlfriend almost a year and we've said "I love you" and she previously discussed potentially moving in, potential marriage, and potential kids.
After a really good day with her, I told my GF, "I'm excited about you" and she got really caught off guard, to a point where I got insecure, since it was clear she was kind of questioning our future. The way she went from giggly and cool all day to jolted and nervous from this simple romantic statement, made me actually get somber and tear up, although pretty low key and not a full cry.
When I asked vaguely, she clarified she was all in, but that she felt she didn't deserve it and she didn't want to be a burden. Which made me more insecure.
We continued the plans of the day and went to a comedy show we had tickets for. When we got back, she wanted to check in on how we're doing and I said I wanted some alone time for the night instead of staying over (although I articulated this badly and it sounded like a much longer period of time and she said "Until next weekend?" at one point which I had to clarify). I said I wanted some alone time for the night, and she said "Please don't leave me" and we both started crying due to the emotions. She wanted clarification on when communication would start again. I ended up conceding and over-explaining until I stayed an extra 30 minutes to an hour doing stuff in the kitchen. At the end of it all, I asked her if she would prefer if I stayed or left tonight, and she said she preferred I stay but respects my alone time. I then left because after all this drama I didn't want to fold instantly. I also agreed to contact her the next day.
She's going on a day trip to her family's house that takes hours to drive to. (I had learned of this well before the argument)
I need to send her a morning message that leaves open a line of communication, and is confident, without being pushy or insecure.
I wanted to say something like "Morning babe, hope you have a good time with your folks. I'm here if you want to talk a bit" (with the caveat I'd be sending this probably right as she's hitting the road, so it could make a phone call much more of a "big deal" and weighty)
Or I should just say "Morning babe, hope you have a good time with your folks. I'm open to chatting, just let me know".
On a phone call, I'd say something like "Hey. I love you. I want you, and I see a future with you, but we can take things as they go and talk specifics later. Take care today, and we'll catch up soon." and leave it almost as simple as that.

I’ve had my industrial piercing for almost 2 yrs and a half now (i got it aug 2021) i had it done but the piercer is unprofessional (i know..) they did it without any needle or what, they pierced thru it using the bar itself ( ive done no research that why im regretting this now, but ive learned my lesson now no need to lecture me abt lol) anw moving on. during it’s first year like let’s say its 8th month or so it grew a piercing bump. After cleaning it well and taking care of it carefully the bump went away eventually. Fast forward to early 2023 (idk what happened) but it eventually grew another bumps on both holes, both of them looks small bumps which is not that concerning at that time . This time the bump seems to have healed which means it doesn’t hurt nor had redness to it. I thought it would eventually go away if i would just do my usual aftercare but it didnt (note: the piercing still has the minimal bumps on both holes)
Then around bermonths of 2023, my piercing got hit (idk remember exactly how or by what) but yeh, bcuz of that, the bumps had discharge (transparent and yellow one) for quite sometime. I healed it but what i noticed is that after it was healed the bump grew a bit more larger than it was. So i started to be more concern abt it. This is now the time i try taking off the bar for the first time. Bcuz of it i confirmed that both holes are healed. No redness nor swelling nor pain. It was just a bit itchy and cuz its my first time taking it off for few yrs.
I did some experimental remedies of trying to atleast lessen the bump and observe it. Tried spraying alcohol, warm saltwater mixture, taking out the bar before going to bed, changed the bar into a stud earring instead Etc etc. what ive observed, when taking out the bar and wearing it again in the morning the holes gains redness while the bumps only seems to be getting more firm (hard? Almost like boney bump feeling)
That’s all i need to say abt this T-T. I would rlly appreciate you can drop off some suggestions here or any helpful comments abt since im planning to permanently try to heal this thing without any jewelry but im scared that it would only grow worse since I’ve seen how keloids only grow bigger even after the jewelry was removed.
The photos i attached are how it looks like now fresh out from the stud earring im was using just now.

2024.05.19 11:18 Slayr155 AITAH - I told my wife that there's nothing wrong with being a SAHM, and that many working women would probably be much happier staying home with the kids.

To add context, I made it clear to her that in no way was I saying women shouldn't work or weren't capable. To the contrary, there's very many hard working successfull talented women out there doing great things. I just said that raising kids and simultaneously having a career is a recipe for exhaustion, and most women would be happier doing one or the other, not both (my opinion only, which she doesn't share and doesn't care to hear). To the contrary, men have to work for their entire adult lives whether they want to or not. There really isn't a work-free option for men the way there is for women IMO. When I talk about this with my wife, she hears "a woman's place is in the home" even though that's no where remotely close to what I was saying, and then she goes off the rails and calls me a misogynist. Which is mean. My whole point to my wife has been that she should enjoy being a SAHM until the kids are old enough to be in school all day, and then she can work as much as she wants as long as she can figure out how to get the kids to/from school (my job involves a significant amount of travel). I didn't want her to work just to hand over her paycheck to a daycare. To me, that would just be a huge waste of time and resources, and why pay someone else to raise our kids? She seemed to think she'd keep her paycheck for discretionary spending and that I'd just cover datcare so she could do that. I have a good salary, but I can't aford daycare and maintain our current standard of living. Besides, there are plenty of single and divorced parents out there who need daycare, and it seems wasteful for us to take up a slot. I even offered to be a SAHD if she could find a job that would pay her what I currently earn. She threw a "just be thankful that I am raising your kids" at me, which I resented, because they're hers too, and just as much her responsibility. More context - when I'm home from business trips, I do the school dropoffs/pickups, sports events, I cook, I do chores around the house, and I watch the kids so she can do things with her girlfriends. I'm not a dick. I just think women have been sold a story about "having it all" that really isn't true. There's plenty of time for work/careers after the kids are in school all day. Take advantage of a few years and stay with your kids if your husband earns enough to cover all the bills. Apparently that opinion makes me a misogynistic AH.

2024.05.19 11:18 Orfeo_Grace How to color things faster and cleaner??

I have some difficulties with colors - with filling the colors, to be accurate.
To fill some place with color I usually just use magnet tool to outline the element and then just color it with brush, but it takes a lot of time. (1 pic)
Is there a way to put flat colors faster and easier? Like, selecting line and then be able to just fill up what inside of it's borders? Or, like I saw in some other programs, fill up the area inside the line (when I tried to do that my whole canvas goes filled, because color and line layers are separate)?
Also, I love to use fill tool, but it always leaves these parts of previous color behind cuz of gradient of the brush (I guess?). Can I prevent that from occurring somehow? (2 pic)
And last - I received advice from the pal, that in Photoshop you can just press Ctrl and then place on art and it will select for you the according layer. Is there something like that in Krita?
