2024.05.19 15:25 TheGangstaGandalf Discussion of the Diamond Handbook (Part 1)

Hey everyone, this will be my first attempt at a serious post on this sub. I’m not exactly practiced in articulating my thoughts (I’m more of a fiction writer) so please bear bull with any mistakes and please correct me if I’m wrong. The last thing I want to do is spread misinformation, I’m not an expert (or a financial advisor) on any of this. I'm here to learn, not to teach.
This post will be the first in a series of me reading through the entire Diamond Handbook (2nd) and just commentating on points I find interesting or discussion worthy. I will be asking questions as well as giving my own personal thoughts based on my understanding of the events that have transpired. I became an ape right after the sneeze, and followed a lot of the discussions back then, but have been zen for a while so I haven't fully kept up with a lot of the new developments.
I haven't actually sat down and read DD in a long time, so I decided to give myself a refresher and actually look at the Diamond Handbook (2nd) for the first time. I had read a lot of these posts as they had come out, so I had never felt the need to look at the full PDF before. For the apes that haven’t read it either, I recommend giving it a read. You can find the full DD library in the pinned post of this sub, and the Diamond Handbook is the first one there.
As I have been reading it, I’ve quickly realized that some of the stuff is a little outdated. That can’t really be helped since so much DD has been done between then and now, but this brings me to the two reasons for this post. The Diamond Handbook is likely the first piece of DD a new ape will be recommended; I want to spark discussion to clear up some things that are misguided or outdated in this handbook. The second reason is more of a personal challenge. Whenever someone denies the legitimacy of the DD, an ape usually responds by saying something like “Well, read the DD and prove it wrong”. The average MOASS denier won’t do this though, in my experience they just think it’s ridiculous on a conceptual level, and won’t take the time to actually look through all the DD available and construct a proper debate. I can’t really blame them for this though, spending so much time on something you have no interest in doesn’t sound like a fun time.
But I have a lot of interest in this, and I am an aspiring author who writes 400K word fanfictions for fun. I’ve got the time and the writing willpower. I am very big into trying to understand how a reader will interpret a piece of my writing, so I’ll be looking through that lens and will be writing this with the assumption that you have already read the Diamond Handbook (2nd). Please take the time to respond/correct what I say here, I want to learn.
With all that out of the way, let’s get started.

The Mother of All Short Squeezes (MOASS) Thesis, Published on May 26, 2021, by u(slash)HCMF_MACEFACE
Before we even get into the meat of this section I already see a bit of an issue. A lot of the language implies that MOASS is imminent, take this section for example:
*“If you don't believe me, just look at the chart of GME which our DD (Due Diligence/research/analysis) has been forecasting for a while now. The below pattern has only preceded massive spikes in price, but this time, those on the other side of the trade are going to have a much harder time suppressing the price like they did in January and March. Thanks to the activity on 5/25, we have entered the end-game. The MOASS is beginning.”*
I think most new apes will look at this, then look at the date of posting (three years ago), and think this is delusional thinking. They will say that MOASS did not ‘begin’ because it hasn’t happened yet. This would be pretty short sighted though, GME has always been a Deep Value investment, long positions are called long for a reason. ‘Buy and HODL’ is such a repeated mantra because that is the investment strategy most apes employ. Like most investments, it takes a long time to realize gains. Your retirement account will be growing for 40+ years before you cash that thing out, GME is my retirement plan so I don’t expect it to be much different.
Just because the sneeze happened in a week doesn’t mean MOASS will, in theory it should be a very long event as both the shorts and longs have a test of wills to see who caves first. However, the sneeze was the ‘beginning’ because it was exposed a lot of the fuckery that is going on in the market right now, I think that is the message that should be taken from this section.
*“These terms are key to understanding the theory and speculated value of a GME investment. Hyperlinks to Investopedia, "the world's leading source of financial content on the web", have been included for most market terms and concepts and it is recommended to check them out if they are not clear. We will be breaking down some of the more complex terms and concepts within the post and framing them within the context of GME.”*
After the introduction, this post does a great job of explaining all the concepts of the stock market that are relevant to the MOASS thesis. However, I do wish it mentioned some other stock terms for the sake of new investors. Since none of the DD is supposed to be financial advice, I can’t really blame them for these omissions, but at the beginning the OP does say they wanted the post to be good for newer investors, so I think some more pointing in the right direction should’ve been provided. I do appreciate the link to Investopedia, but this DD is already a novel, and the average reader might forget about that link by the time they finish it. So an additional link should’ve been provided at the end.
The two big concepts I see missing are Options and Wash Sales/Stop-Losses.
Options are interesting because they create a different type of buying/selling pressure compared to just buying/selling stocks regularly. There are concepts like gamma ramps and stuff that can be relevant when discussing catalysts for price movement. However, options are pretty scary for most investors, I’ve only ever bought one, and forgot about it so it auto-exercised for me (lol), so it’s not a concept I would call essential. I just think it’s better to be educated than not.
The much more egregious omission is that of Wash Sales and Stop-Losses. Wash Sales are extremely dangerous to new investors who still make decisions based on emotions and are not used to the volatility that comes with GME.
If you are unfamiliar, a Wash Sale is when a person sells a stock at a loss, then buys the stock again within a short period of time. As an example, let’s say you bought a stock at $50, then the stock goes down to $40.00 and you no longer feel comfortable with your investment. You sell the stock at a loss. You lost $10.00 on this transaction, but it’s not all bad. When you go to do your taxes, you can report this $10.00 loss to the IRS. This is good because if you make a $10.00 profit off another trade, you now don’t have to take taxes out of that profit, since the IRS will see this as you breaking even in the grand scheme of your portfolio. You didn’t actually make any money, so they aren’t going to tax you for it.
A Wash Sale is triggered when you buy back the stock you sold in a short period of time, this can even apply if you buy a stock in the same sector. So if you buy a stock at $50.00, sell it at $40.00 then buy it again. That $10.00 loss you took can no longer be reported to the IRS as an actual loss. So when you make $10.00 on some other trade, the IRS won’t see you as breaking even, they will tax you on that $10.00.
For a stock as volatile as GME this can be very dangerous, I know people who brought in the peak, then as the price went back down they triggered a Stop-Loss (auto-sale you can program to trigger when a price falls), only to then buy back in when the stock dropped even lower, creating a wash sale that fucked their taxes.
We say “Buy and HODL” a lot, but I think the ‘why’ of it has been lost in the meme. I personally buy and HODL because averaging down is a lot better for me than accidently triggering a Wash Sale. I fucking hate the IRS and don’t want any of that smoke.
*“SPOILER: GME and \[Popcorn\] have tons of FTDs reported.”*
I just kinda don’t like the mention of the Popcorn stock here, it has never been a deep value investment. If you are unfamiliar with the Deep Value investment strategy, please take a look at the old Roaring Kitty livestreams. In summary, Deep Value investing is defined by looking for stocks that are extremely undervalued and unpopular due to no fault of the company. These external factors that are making the stock undervalued can be anything, shorting, COVID, stuff like that. But what makes it a Deep Value investment is always strong management within the company. If the company is not mismanaged in any way, then it is very unlikely to go bankrupt, and will have opportunities to make a comeback. GME has Ryan Cohen leading, a proven successful businessman that has already taken precautions to ensure GameStop never goes bankrupt. Popcorn just doesn’t have that. It is very short-squeezable, but it’s not deep fucking value.
*“Short sellers must eventually close, or cover, their short position.”*
Ok, but why ‘must’ they? This is another point I think has been lost in the memes. There are two problems with just saying ‘shorts must close’ without providing context. The first is the simple fact that there isn’t a due date. Unlike a common car loan or mortgage, a short position doesn’t operate on a time table. They can wait forever to close, unless they get margin called.
This next part I’m a little shaky on, I’m probably getting some things wrong here:
Ok, well how are they going to get margin called? The problem I see is that these Short Hedge Funds (SHF) are making a lot of money by selling naked shorts. It’s really hard to get margin called when they are literally printing money, and since they don’t have to report these their books just look to be filled with an infinite amount of cash.
So, there are a couple solutions to this:
1, Government regulation. If the SEC puts a stop to naked shorting, these SHF can’t print money anymore. Eventually the interest from their positions will eat them alive, and they will get margin called. Unfortunately, MOASS has the potential to destroy the economy like in 2008, so they probably aren’t too keen on just doing this without creating some kind of safety net. So I can’t really count on them to help, because the government has a vested interest in keeping MOASS from happening. It’s just not something I believe will be the catalyst. Although they might just do it on purpose given the right reason, like pinning the economic collapse on a scapegoat, or by GameStop forcing their hand by exposing the fraud somehow. I’ve seen a lot of apes hoping for one of these reasons to come to pass, but for me, I don’t see enough motivation from the participating parties.
2, A price run-up. If the price of the stock can unbalance the books of the SHF enough then they could also get margin called. I’m not counting on this either, since the price is manipulated by the process of naked shorting. Sure, they are digging a bigger grave when they suppress the price like this, but it can also help smaller SHFs with exiting their positions with OTC stuff. Over-The-Counter trades are trades made off the lit exchanges, historically it was intended to kind of simulate a transaction between two individuals, like buying a video game from a buddy off the books, no taxes, no regulation. Unfortunately, this is abused by institutions and can’t even be used by individuals, making dark pools of trades full of fraud and undermines the free market. Smaller SHFs that are more at risk of getting Margin Called due to their lack of collateral, can make OTC trades with the big naked-shorting market makers to ‘close’ their positions using fake shares. Of course, this only passes the buck so to speak, but it’s a viable strategy for them since the big SHFs that take on these ‘bucks’ are less likely to get margin called. A lot of historic short squeezes happen because a small SHF gets margin called, then drives the price up and causes a bigger SHF to get called, and so on until they’re all in the grave. This is why I don’t really give a shit if the price goes up to $80 in a week, it’s not enough, the buck has been passed. (To be clear, I don’t have proof that this is the reason for the uptick in OTC transactions, it’s just a theory. If a smarter ape than I can get on this that would be great.) But, even if a price run-up itself doesn’t cause MOASS, it may give motivation for the true trigger:
3, Interest Rates. Here is the big one that I look at, that I believe will be the true cause of MOASS. Now please, correct me if I’m wrong again, I am just an ape who dropped out of college. So, from what I understand a Short institution has to pay a certain amount of interest to the people they borrow the stocks from. This is the cost of borrowing and is how these Lenders make money. For a long time, the interest rate was at like 1%, this means that selling one naked short could cover the cost of the interest 100 times over. However, let’s say that the interest rate becomes 110%, sounds crazy, but this would mean that borrowing the share would cost more than the share. This would destroy the balances of the SHFs and ensure they get margin called. Why would this ever happen though? Because these lenders want to make money. These lenders are the real winners of MOASS, and they aren’t talked about enough in my opinion. Lenders can’t sell the shares they’ve lent out, their income is in the interest rates, there has to be a balance here between it being more profitable to lend the shares or to sell them. If Lenders start to think that lending their shares aren’t making them more money than the alternative, they will raise interest rates to make these profits until SHFs can’t pay them, then the SHFs have to return the shares, causing MOASS with the massive buyback, then lenders can just sell the shares on the way down. Lenders have a monetary business interest in causing MOASS, so they are the most likely cause of it in my opinion.
*“This is the GME MOASS thesis. GME is a stock that stands to hit an unprecedented price point due to the fact that manipulators of the market have failed to bankrupt GameStop thanks in huge part to the Legendary Keith Gill AKA* u(slash)DeepFuckingValue*, Ryan Cohen, and all of the GME investors who took part in this saga. It may not be today, this week, or even this month, but one day soon, these toxic participants have no choice but to buy the stock to close out their short positions.”*
I don’t think this is necessarily inaccurate, but I think it’s misguided, and the language here is a bit to emotive for my taste. I think the reason the company didn’t go bankrupt is because of the strategic share offering made by Ryan Cohen to build up more cash than the company’s valuation (at the time). All the other stuff was just dressing, DFV and retail did not make RC do this, this move by RC is what ensured the company literally can’t go bankrupt, until then (and at the time this was posted) it was still a risk in my opinion. So this huge thanks feels kinda like a pre-cum celebration, and I've never really liked putting Keith on a pedestal, he's just an individual investor, just like the rest of us.

FAQ, Published April 12, 2021, by u(slash)BYE_TRIANGLE
*“Why does Holding do anything?”* *“They need your shares to cover their short positions! They got greedy. Thinking GameStop would fail, the short sellers started Naked Shorting the stock. Long story short they created synthetic stocks with their special privileges as Market Makers. But they can’t cover a short with a synthetic share. So because of the Naked Shorting, the Short Sellers, multiple large greedy money managers, and Hedge Funds need a total number of shares greater than the number available to purchase. THEY NEED EVERY SHARE, EVEN YOURS CONAN!”* *“aRe YoU GuYs MaNipuLatIng THe MaRKeT?!”*
Holding does something else that I think is really important. It proves that retail is not responsible for the manipulation of the price. You see it in the mainstream media every time the price fluctuates, they say that retail and Roaring Kitty is driving the price up for the memes, and that the ‘meme stock craze is dead’ whenever the price falls, claiming that retail is selling. However, it quickly becomes clear to anyone with the willingness to research that retail holds. Holding doesn’t move the price at all, so they literally can’t blame this sub for the fuckery that happens.
Now, on the flip side, I know people on the old sub to buy and sell with these fluctuations, they did it during the sneeze and I’ve seen comments claiming to do it last week. I think this is why Roaring Kitty really had to speak to congress about this, because a legitimate-seeming argument could be made that retail was buying and selling at high volumes. The loss and gain porn on the old sub could be presented as evidence. Here though, apes hold, we glaze purple doughnuts.
So when MOASS does happen, the massive price increase will be only due to buying pressure from SHFs, so they are the only ones that can take the blame for what happens next.
*“No one knows how high the squeeze could take the stock price. The best rational reasoning says that these numbers \[500k per share\] are possible through the laws of supply and demand. Furthermore, it is likely that the Short Percentage is a lot higher than reported, with many suggesting that the short-sellers, cumulatively, need more than 100% of the float to cover.”*
A lot of naysayers will claim people are insane for thinking that phone number prices are possible. They will cite that it would make the company’s valuation higher than the amount of money in the world, which is true. However, with the nature of fraudulent naked shorts being fake, the price is fake too, and the valuation of the company doesn’t necessarily mean that the whole float will be sold at those prices. Yes, it shouldn’t be possible, by all accounts it wouldn’t make sense, but it is possible due to the naked shorting. Also, institutions that own shares likely won’t HODL out for the phone number prices, they will sell when they think it’s safe, and when they won’t get in trouble with the SEC for destroying the economy. The infinity pool (the shares that will be sold at these prices) will be a small fraction of the total amount even among retail investors. So the argument that I see against the possibility of this doesn’t hold a lot of weight.
Keep in mind that even though ‘buying pressure’ moves the price up, someone has to be willing to sell in order for someone to buy. So as the price creeps up from $100 to $1000 to $100000 to $8675309 someone will be selling on the way up to get there.
*“Synthetic long positions could be used to disguise their short positions as well, the mechanisms behind this practice utilize the options markets and could explain some of the crazy options activity that we have seen in GameStop the last few months.”*
So uhm… I don’t understand ‘Synthetic Longs’ at all. Could an ape with more wrinkles elaborate on this? From what I can extrapolate, this may refer to an institution purchasing a naked shorted share from someone else?
*“While at the same time they employed the use of social engineering to slowly depress the positive sentiment for the stock on Reddit and elsewhere.”* *“You may have been called a Shill for one of a number of reasons. This community is very inclusive and open to everyone, but because of the blatant attacks this forum has suffered a lot of people are understandably paranoid. (Myself included). Please, unless you really are a shill, don’t take it personally.”*
I want to address this, because there is a lot of misconception about SuperStonk. A lot of people will claim that this sub is just an echo chamber cult that can’t handle anyone questioning the narrative. This may seem true on the surface, but I think the reality is just that we’ve become hyper sensitive to the social engineering the old sub fell victim to, and I remember this sub being attacked with that as well. So whenever we see a post that has extremely emotive language, we become skeptical and down vote it. Emotions have no place in investing, that is a common rule touted in even the oldest investing books, so posts that try to incite an emotional response are shot down. Apes aren’t about to be manipulated again. That being said there are emotive posts that still get upvoted, ones with positive hype-filled narratives. Since these get upvoted and the negative ones don’t that sometimes gives the impression of an echo chamber. This is because the facts do support the MOASS thesis, so a hype title and opening paragraph is just more agreeable with the facts-based narrative. Some people are just scrolling on their phone and don’t have time to read the whole post.
However, if you go into the comments of these posts, there are apes investigating the profile history to determine if posters are bots, regardless of the pushed narrative. If you look past the upvote counter, apes are very skeptical of any post that isn’t based in fact or harmless memes. The comments rule the post, and I have to say I’ve very proud of this sub for staying vigilant in the wake of Reddit restricting moderation tools.
*“Ryan Cohen clearly believes in Gamestop, to the point of announcing that he will be taking equity as compensation. In fact, as of writing this all of the new Gamestop board members are going to be taking equity as compensation. This is seen as an incredibly bullish sign of the company's future success.”*
This is one of the principles of Deep Value investing, I wish this was elaborated on more of why this is bullish. This means that the board, and more importantly Ryan Cohen, is tying their individual self-worth to the company. Due to this tie, they will essentially ‘go down with the ship’ if the company goes down. This means that the board and Ryan actually have an interest in the company doing well, instead of having an interest in making money off the company. You may think this sounds like the same thing, but it’s not. If RC cared more about money than the company, then he could destroy the company to make money (this is what’s happening to popcorn), but by tying his worth to the shares, the only way for him to become richer is for the company to flourish.
I don’t really like the language being used here, stuff like ‘clearly believes’ ‘seen as incredibly bullish’ are all pretty emotive and doesn’t actually explain why these are positive growth signs for the company, they are just saying it is ‘bullish’, the average new investor isn’t even going to know what that really means. Even though GME is extremely manipulated, causing Technical Analysis to become increasingly difficult to depend on, the investment is still rooted in fundamentals of deep value.
*“Below is a shortlist of some of the potential catalysts people are speculating about:*
-A Stock Split, or some similar move from Gamestop that recalls shares
-Gamma Squeeze
-Gamestop’s Q1 Earnings Call
-Some speculate Gary Gensler (Newly appointed head of the SEC), may make some move that sets things in motion
-DTCC rule changes taking effect
-Appointment of a new CEO”
Yeah… this feels bad man. I’ve talked about this already, but we can rapid fire down this list.
The stock split didn’t work out, since those in charge of distributing the splits did it fraudulently. Gamma Squeeze is the kind of thing that could trigger a smaller hedge fund to get margin called and cause a domino effect, but I’ve shared my theory of the OTC action. Earnings are nice, but public sentiment has always been more tied to the media manipulation than actual facts. Fucking Gary.
On the subject of bringing in new talent, I do feel like a big move will happen soon. We’ve already seen a lot of job offerings from the Corporate side of GameStop so this could be the next phase of the plan. I really think that RC has spent these last few years taking precautions to make sure the company can’t go bankrupt, the last thing he wants is to turn out like Toys-R-Us. A lot of downsizing happened, so now he can start thinking about upsizing again.
I’m not necessarily saying that these things can’t trigger the squeeze, but I am saying that depending on something to start it is just inviting disappointment. I think the ‘no dates’ rule has been sorely forgotten lately with all the hype and speculation around Roaring Kitty’s tweets and stuff. I am a zen ape, it happens when it happens.
*“First of all, it is incredibly important to note your potential biases when determining if someone is just a shill trying to spread FUD. Not all FUD is invalid, someone may bring up a solid point against an otherwise great DD, and that could scare you. Remember that just because you do not like what someone is saying, doesn’t make it invalid. It is important users here work with constructive criticism to refine their theories.”*
Damn, wasn’t I just talking about this? This critique isn’t going to just be wagging fingers, this is really good stuff that still applies today, and from what I’ve seen apes are doing a great job of distinguishing between FUD and legitimate criticism. I also want to take a second to thank the mod team, especially after their tools were restricted, they’ve been a great help.
*“…but since then retail investors have been buying on every single dip in the price… That's more than two whole months of buying-the-dip. Now, I will not speculate on numbers here, if you want to know more you will have to read the DDs on that.”*
This is pretty outdated now. Apes have been buying for three years now, and with the advent of Direct Registering we have a much better idea of how much apes hold. I can say with confidence now that retail owns a floats worth of shares. Since there is so much naked shorting, a lot of institutions probably own their own floats too.
I glaze those purple doughnuts, yum.

Citadel Has No Clothes, Published March 14, 2021, by u(slash)ATOBITT
Ohhhh, this one is special to me, I read it when it first came out, first time I was there on release night. Let’s see how it hodls up.
*“TL;DR - Citadel Securities has been fined 58 times for violating FINRA, REGSHO & SEC regulations. Several instances are documented as 'willful' naked shorting. In Dec 2020 they reported an increase in their short position of 127.57% YOY, and I'm calling bullsh\*t on their shenanigans.”*
58 times. I don’t actually know how much that number has gone up, but I’m sure it has. I am reminded of an old saying, that if the punishment for a crime is a fine, then it only a crime for the poor. The crime being done to GME is class warfare, it’s nothing less.
*“$295,347,948,000 of that is split into options (calls & puts), while $78,979,887,238 (20.52%) is allocated to actual, physical, shares (or so they say). The rest is convertible debt securities.”*
This is why I’m skeptical that it’s even possible for Citadel to get margin called by a normal price run-up. Let’s do some math here. GME’s float is at 232 million-ish shares, let’s say they shorted 300% of that, just to be conservative (lmao), so that’s 696 million. To take what the first post said, Margins don’t get called unless an entities’ collateral becomes less than 80% of what they’ve borrowed. If they use their entire $384,926,232,238 portfolio as collateral, then GME would have to soar to a price of… divide by 4, multiply by 5… $691.32 per share. That may sound relatively reasonable, but I don’t think a normal catalyst would be enough for that. I really think interest rates are the key, think about it, if they have to pay like 30% interest on all of those shares, their portfolio will be reduced by that much (kinda) and we can find a much more reasonable midpoint. Now brace yourselves, I’m about to spend an unreasonable amount of effort on something that is probably wrong because I don’t know shit about fuck about margins or getting called (I have a cash account and I lack rizz).
In order to calculate that we gotta do one of those double equation variable bullshit things we all hated in school, I forgot what they were called but I remember how to do them.
So, we have a few variables:
C = Citadel’s Portfolio = $384,926,232,238
S = Shorted Shares = 696,000,000
I = Intrest = 0.30
X = Price Per Share
Y = Citadel’s new portfolio amount after paying interest
So, X and Y are undetermined, but we have two equations to work with
C – I(X*S) = Y
This one calculates how much money is going to be in citadels new portfolio after paying interest, we calculate the interest by multiplying the cost per share, by the amount of shorted shares, and multiplying that by the interest rate, then subtracting it from their total portfolio.
Y * 1.25 = X * S
This one calculates the total amount those shorted shares have to be in order for Citadel to get margin called, by multiplying their new portfolio by 5/4 and calculating the total cost of the shares.
X * S has a direct value; we can plug the left side of the second equation into the first to get
C – I(Y*1.25) = Y
Now we just gotta isolate Y on one side of the equation.
C = Y + 0.3(Y*1.25)
C = 1.3Y * 0.375
C= 0.4875Y
C * 0.4875 = Y
Y = $187,651,538,216.03
Now we gotta find X, we can just plug in the other stuff.
(Y* 1.25)/ 696,000,000 = X
X = $337.02 per share for shitadel to get margin called on 30% interest.
Holy shit, now that’s what I call reasonable. See how much interest can completely fuck a portfolio? They lost almost half of their portfolio value to a 30% interest to this. This is why the whole market will bleed red on the run up to MOASS, they will have to sell half of their portfolio just to pay the interest.
Citadel is probably not a good example of this, since they print the naked shorts themselves... so they would be paying interest to... themselves... when they borrow them? Citadel is so fucked up, I don't have enough wrinkles for this.
But hey, I think the concept of what I said is fine. High interest rates can reduce collateral and cause margin calls. Hey, just out of curiosity, how much is the borrowing interest rate looking now?
16.5%
SHF are fucked.

Anyway, I’m writing this on a Wordpad document so I’m not sure if I’ve come up on the character limit, but I think I’m getting close so I’ll end this part here. Please let me know what I’ve got wrong or any insights you want to share, I’ll be sure to talk about any interesting comments when I do a part 2!
TLDR: I am reviewing the Diamond Handbook (2nd) and seeing what has changed in the three years since it’s been compiled. I have a bias in thinking that high borrowing interest rates are what will cause MOASS, and that is shown here. This is not meant to be an impartial analysis, just my thoughts. Not financial advice.

Disclaimers: I am not a physician, influencer, or paid content creator. I am not affiliated with WW. I am semi-retired from the healthcare field with multiple college degrees. These opinions are my own based on social media content. I wish no harm to Kylea or Joseph "Joe" Gomez.
☎️ If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, please call or text 988 for assistance.
Behind the Scenes Family Update: Kylea Gomez has been exploiting a life-changing medical diagnosis of a close relative (without their permission and against their wishes) to internet strangers in social media messages. She has claimed that she is supporting this relative (which is a lie) to justify her work ethic, productivity, and even basic hygiene issues. Let that sink in for a moment...
To this relative: You, your family, and your medical team are in my prayers. ✝️
To Kylea's Biological Parents: Your daughter disparages your name and relationship for personal and financial gain frequently. No concert, trip, or gift provided to you with money obtained under (allegedly) false and deceptive pretenses justifies Kylea's disturbing behaviors. Stop enabling her.
California Clarification: Kylea was rejected by a Cavapoo breeder from adopting the Original Birdie (OB) during her California trip. I am thankful to the breeders of OB for making a tough decision in the best interest of the puppy. For me, this seals the deal that Kylea falsified details of this California trip and rushed home to find Backup Birdie (BB), who is the focus of today's content.
The tagline of Kylea G Weight loss Journey is, "I changed my entire life with prayer and a playlist of songs. No surgery, no meds. Just Jesus."
DAILY STATS: 05/18/24
0/11 posts discussed prayer
0/11 posts discussed music
0/11 posts discussed exercise
3/11 posts discussed a recipe
1/11 posts was about takeout "coffee" at 5 am
7/11 posts were about Birdie Mae 🐶
📢 For our friends at Meta, that means 63% of Kylea's monetized content had nothing to do with weight loss, which is the tagline and purpose of her page. Her weight loss journey ended July 2023 per her content. Why do you continue to pay her for non-weight loss content?
⚠️ Disordered Eating- Daily WW Points Used (Data compiled from monetized content):
1 WW Point: Crazy Llama "coffee" with almond milk, sugar-free vanilla, sugar-free peppermint, and sugar-free white chocolate
3 WW Points: Taco Soup with 12 Trader Joe's Rolled Corn Chili & Lime flavored Tortilla Chips
📢 For our friends at Meta, Kylea consumed 4 WW points out of (up to) 30 daily WW points= SEVERE disordered eating. This messaging is deadly for those on a weight loss journey. Follow your policies and take action.
Recipes Shared: 1. Taco Soup: 🚨 This recipe has dangerous sodium levels. Please know your daily sodium recommendations before making this recipe. 🚨
  1. Taco Rice Bowls: The soup is drained and added to 1 minute jalapeño rice with cheese. 🚨 The sodium alert is the same as above. 🚨
☎️ Please speak with a medical professional about any questions or concerns you have about your health.
Comments: To the animal lovers, I am sending you good vibes to get through this nonsense. Here we go...
  1. Coffee at 5am: Kylea and Joe are pictured in their vehicle outside Crazy Llama Coffee with the sun shining bright. Kylea claims she was home at 5 am, and Joe took her right away to get her "favorite coffee."
⏸️ The sun rises in Joplin after 6 am. Why lie? ⏸️ Her facial sunburn that disappeared yesterday is back today. How did that happen? ⏸️ Kylea claims she does not have cravings or temptations. However, she is addicted to sweet. Her "coffee" is beige colored at best, and she needed it right away...
  1. Backup Birdie Part 1: Her airline approved pet travel accessory backpack is shown in the vehicle. "All my dog mom dreams are coming true today 💖 🐶"
  2. Backup Birdie Part 2: "My heart is so full!!! 💖 🐶 I got the cuddliest, cutest, sweetest girl. 😭 I cried when I met my puppy for the first time because I love her so much already!!"
⏸️ Kylea's followers immediately started asking to see pictures and were told they needed to wait until after Kylea's family met her first. HoWeVeR, some influencers (bestie Drue Basham, Drue's SIL Sierra, Brittany Bryant, etc.) got to see her first and comment from their influencer accounts about Birdie. I'm sorry, loyal top fans and followers, possible cross-engagement from "trusted" influencers is more important than respecting your loyalty. Welcome inside the mind of a 🐈 🐟 er. Always trying to boost engagement, the algorithm, and gain new followers...
  1. Taco Soup Recipe: 🚨 This sodium monstrosity has canned beans, jarred salsa, enchilada sauce, rotel, roasted corn, a ranch seasoning packet, a taco seasoning packet, fresh chicken, and water. 😲
  2. Backup Birdie Part 3: "Welcome home 🏠 to our forever girl 🎀 Birdie Mae 🐶 She's already following Joseph and I around and has brought us so much joy. 🌈 🎀"
⏸️ The puppy shown does not appear to be a Cavapoo, and Kylea refuses to answer follower questions about her breed. Remember, Birdie was not supposed to come home until May 20th, then May 19th.
To all individuals in the TTC Community, I know the 🌈 is a powerful symbol for you. I have experienced pregnancy loss and fertility care. My heart hurts for anyone triggered by the language Kylea uses and humanizing pets in reference to pregnancy loss. 🙏
  1. Backup Birdie Part 4: "The moment I held her, I just knew she was meant for me.🎀 🐶 She loves all of the cuddles which is good because I do too. 💖"
⏸️ Not one reference of her "sweet boy" Oliver or Alice. Where are the cats? BB is asleep on Kylea.
  1. Taco Soup Part 2: 🚨 Since it wasn't salty enough, why not put some chili & lime tortilla chips on top? Chef's 💋. Kylea held the bowl, showing her barefoot on the floor. I did NOT miss her feet content. 🤢
  2. Backup Birdie Part 5: "We already love her so much 🎀 💖" BB is asleep in a fuzzy blanket on her puppy bed.
  3. Backup Birdie Part 6: Within 30 minutes of this writer posting info in Reddit chat of how to file an animal complaint in Joplin, MO as a PSA (not a threat) encouraging Kylea & Joe to be crystal clear about Alice's whereabouts, a picture of Joe cuddling BB with Alice behind him on the couch is posted. "Joseph loves Birdie Mae too 💖 🐶 So far she loves to sleep 😴"
⏸️ 3 animals are now housed in a small apartment. Two cats with behavioral issues and a young puppy. Kylea can claim she will have no issues because "it will be fine," but she is ignorant, immature, and selfish. Wise followers will remove their rose-colored glasses and see the truth. There is a theory Alice was edited into the photo again...
  1. Taco Soup Part 3: 🚨 No more takeout for Joe! He gets to eat Taco Soup Rice Bowls for work lunches this week.
⏸️ On the recent McDonalds post, a smart follower asked what Joe eating McDonalds had to do with WW. Kylea replied it was a "balanced lifestyle." Remember, Kylea & Joe want you to believe Joe has not gained weight no matter what he eats, with photo evidence (even modified) proving differently. Kylea's chains were broken 07/05/21. No cravings, temptations, plateaus, weight gain...a perfect journey to this day (and forever). 😇 Please disregard her obvious eating disorder and mental illnesses. Seek medical care, Kylea Gomez. ☮️
  1. Backup Birdie Part 7: A 12-second video is shared of BB playing with a squeaky toy on the carpet.
⏸️ No Oliver, Grams, or Gibson content today. Kylea told her followers (in a comment) that Oliver had not met the puppy. It's good to see your "sweet boy" and subject of a ridiculous amount of monetized content is already booted engagement wise.
Final thoughts: Money reveals people's true colors. 👀 Buckle in for a nauseating amount of BB nontent.
Takeout: Crazy Llama takeout for 2: $16 est + tip;

2024.05.19 14:24 Fancy_Arm_7448 Side Effects After Stopping?

Has anyone here experienced any side effects after stopping semaglutide? Unfortunately my husband lost his job and our insurance so I had to stop taking Wegovy when I ran out a few weeks ago. I had been on it for a year. I never experienced any unpleasant side effects during that year taking it but the past two weekends I have been dealing with bloating, painful stomach/abdominal cramps, diarrhea, etc that start on Friday (when I used to take my shot) and only start after I have eaten. It lasts all weekend to some degree and then stops until the next weekend. I’m pretty puzzled by it and am just wondering if there may be a link to me stopping the shots. I reached out to my doctor but haven’t heard back yet. Thanks for any advice you might have!

2024.05.19 14:04 l0v1sa6 Anxiety over ants, help

At the age of 31, I’ve developed terrible anxiety over ants. Never have I even thought about ants until now. I have always been a worrier, will obsess over things and go through phases. Bought my own house 10 months ago, since then I would say my anxiety has increased in general, mostly over house issues or something that may potentially go wrong, but it’s never felt this bad. To the point I hate being in my house, I will walk aimlessly around shops and go to other peoples houses. I work from home but recently I’ve started going into the office more.
A few weeks ago we spotted some ants behind our sofa, we sealed everywhere off and did leave 2 bait stations behind there. Saw the odd ant every now and again and would worry about it for a while. When we first saw the ants, I would cry often, not sleep and not each much. Didn’t see any for a few weeks until last Tuesday. I was tidying the dogs toys and saw some ants under them, I then noticed more under her bed. Complete panic took over, I felt sick and couldn’t eat all day. I noticed where they were coming from so I put a new bait station down, checked it throughout the day and they seemed to be going to it. The next day there was nothing, no ants so I’m guessing it worked, and the gaps have been sealed. But everyday, multiple times a day I’m checking all round downstairs, doesn’t help that downstairs is open plan, so our kitchen is connected to the living room and dining room. I worry that one day I’ll go down and there’s loads of ants in the kitchen. I’ve gone round and put all the foods in Tupperware, I’m cleaning constantly using white vinegar, and mopping the floors with it, also spraying peppermint oil all round the house. I hate having windows and doors open but my fiancé loves having them open. The dog has a habit of not finishing her treats straight away, usually we leave them down until she wants them again but I’ve been picking them up and either throwing them away or putting them in a sealed bag. Now when I go into the office, my fiancé wants to leave some dry food biscuits down for her, I know she’ll probably end up eating them as soon as we leave the house but now I’m thinking I probably won’t go into the office as I’m worried the food will be there all day and ants will come in. We’re getting married in September and I haven’t thought about wedding stuff for weeks because this is taking over my mind.
It’s taking over my life and I have no idea why I feel this way about something so small and harmless, please, does anyone have any tips in how to deal with my feelings?

2024.05.19 14:04 BrightQueen96 Homeless for the 4th time.

27(trans woman) was kicked out of my house. My sister who I was co living with, lied about the landlord finding out that we had 3 adults in the place, she wanted me gone before she gave birth on June 10th. Which was 3 weeks from now, it’s to close to her due date to be true. Since we’ve been living there since November, I’ve been paying 95% of the rent, storage unit bill, and internet bill. When i getting my stuff, I was calm. No one was fighting, her husband was smirking the entire time I was leaving. I didn’t cause any issues, told her I was taking all my stuff. They called me names because I took my router, that is in my name. I told her this the day before, but yet I’m rude for walking in the bedroom to get it? Even though I wasn’t even causing issues until her son and daughter started crying because they didn’t have internet anymore. She called me numerous names, told me I wasn’t family, that she will never support me. Telling me I had a free ride for “years” even though I moved in with her back in august of 2022, because I was SAed outside of my apartment in front of my son by my stalker(cops didn’t do anything even with video evidence, he was the grandpa of the one cops) I wasn’t safe there and asked if I could stay. When I originally moved in, I was the only one who had a job and was paying rent, electric, and internet. Her husband couldn’t keep a job for shit, would stay home and get fired for pointing out. Now he finally got a job making 22$ an hour and they instantly turn to kick me out. Even though they wouldn’t have the van after it broke down last year, after my fiancé had paid 1250$ to the garage to get it fixed. My sister acts like I’m the one who’s been sucking this family dry but yet I’m not the one who’s stealing from my siblings. I’ve had over 300$, my clothes, and many more things go missing since living there. She’s stolen from me before when she and her husband were at the height of their meth addiction, and yet I found another pipe in the house. I took it and broke it that same morning on Thursday of last week. The same day I got the message about the landlord. She claims I’ve been talking shit, calling my nephew a psycho(he has schizoaffective disorder and he’s autistic) even though I’ve never said that. Claiming I’ve called my youngest niece stupid because my sister let her have a phone/tablet since she could crawl. She went from being normal sighted and is not cross eyed due to this. She’s 4 years old. They parent their kids with tv, and YouTube but then act surprised when my nephew hits his sister in the chest, the back, the head etc but yet blames his step siblings for “antagonizing him” even though all they were doing is being kids and playing with toys. My nephew is 12 years old. I’ve never said he’s anything but a child who needs help when they aren’t giving it to him. My fiancé who used to work at a mental hospital, even says he needs to get better help then they are giving. Sorry I’m just trying to paint the picture here. I’m struggling to come to grips with the fact that even my own mother and father, are taking her side. My brother blocked me. I am losing my mind. My family hates that I am trans, and actively has worked against me the entire time. My fiancé is the only reason I’m not breaking down. I wa supposed to move in with a friend but then she blocked me out of no where and now I’m trying to figure out a place to go before 11am when I gotta leave this hotel room. I haven’t been able to save any money due to the fact that I’ve been paying all the bills. I’ve been paying all the gas money. She wanted 20$ to pick me a mile from the house, so I just walked home. I’ve kept the peace, I didn’t cry or say anything to start shit. I am most likely going to the homeless shelter today if I can’t figure anything out. Oh also, in all of this. My sister was supposed to meet my sons mom so I could get him for me time but yet that wasn’t ever allowed or possible because she wouldn’t drive me. I lost my license back in may of 2022 due to my ex best friend canceling the registration on the car I had just gotten from him, I hadn’t had much time to get it into my name. We agreed he’d let the registration run out in July, which I had already been saving up for it(the taxes on it were 200$) I’ve been a single income home since I was 21. I hadn’t gotten any help because I made to much money according to the programs. My sister and BIL were starting to police when i took a shower, when I slept, when I ate and how much I ate. I didn’t tell my fiancé the extent because it’s not like I could move in with her right now, she’s living with her grandma and I don’t want to give them any harder issues than needed. I’m trying my best, but the last 2 years have imploded my entire life, over and over again.

2024.05.19 14:02 Status-Holiday1590 Parents of teenagers please advise

My family had a devastating loss on Mother’s Day. A cousin of mine tragically passed, so our entire family has been making their way to Florida to be together. I originally planned to fly down with my preschooler, my sister, and her infant. My 17 year old relative let me know that his mother won’t be going and if he can stay with us while he’s there. We have an extra bedroom, so I said sure. I’m starting to think I made a mistake.
He seems to he treating this more like a vacation than what it really is, gathering with family to grieve. I understand that since he is 10-15 years younger than us, he didn’t grow up with and know the deceased like the rest of us but it’s starting to feel really insensitive. He let me know that he has a list of activities he wants to do and if I can plan some fun stuff for us to do.
I let him know that the place we’re staying is a resort with a pool, small waterpark, game room, etc. I only booked it because the condo came with a bunch of toys/baby supplies for our convenience with the small kids. He is more than welcome to explore the rest of the resort, but I am not treating this like a vacation. I am grieving and who knows how any of us will be feeling once we get there. We may not be up to doing all these activities and to understand that, so I can not guarantee we will go shopping and top golf the beach and whatever else is on his list. He’s upset and already complaining that he doesn’t want to sit around bored.
I don’t have a lot of experience with teens besides once being one myself. Does anyone have any advice on how I should handle this?

2024.05.19 13:55 karatespacetiger May Recovery Challenge Day 19 Check In

Hello and welcome to Day 19 of the May Recovery Challenge, how are you?
Wishing you peace and success for today :)

Today's check in:

Are there any obstacles in the way of success this week?

Bonus exercise: Getting ready for a risk food practice on Wednesday!

This coming Wednesday's bonus exercise can be a risk food practice, if people want to do one then we can practice eating a risk food without binging on it! If you don't feel ready to start that process that is 100% ok, all bonus exercises are completely optional. This is the method I learned in treatment, it is an exercise for people who are interested in reintegrating foods into their life in a controlled and supported context, to the extent that we can accomplish that here!
If you're new to risk food practices and would like to take part, here's the exercise for today:
  1. Make a list of foods that you have been avoiding and/or have binged on, or would consider it challenging to eat without binging. If you're drawing a blank, just think of the last few times you binged and write down those foods. (this should be a private list to avoid triggering other people in the challenge)
  2. Beside each food item on the list, rate it on a risk scale from 1-100, with 1 being "I feel somewhat confident I could eat this without binging" and 100 being "I feel like if I have a single bite I won't be able to stop a binge" / highest risk.
  3. From those ratings, rank the foods in your list from top to bottom, with #1 being the most risky and the last one being the least risky. This step is important because you want to start with the lowest risk food for your first risk food practice. We will start with something "easier" and build on success rather than jumping right into the hardest one.
  4. Write "DONE' in your check in so that I know who will be participating on Wednesday. If no one signs up today, that's ok I just won't do the exercise on Wednesday! :)
It is also really important to think about how you'd like to create some safety for yourself on Wednesday when you eat your risk food. I will post this again on Wednesday but here are some options:
On Wednesday you will be asked to rate how risky it feels after you've eaten the food. The next two times we do a risk food challenge it will be about eating that exact same food again and rating it again. After two or three times of eating the food in a normal amount with a safety plan in place, it should start to feel less scary / more "normal", and when it does it's time to move to something that is a higher level of difficulty.
I know it probably sounds like it will take forever to get through your list, and it might lol! My personal experience though is that it didn't take that long, in treatment I did a risk food challenge once a week and once I got used to the process of facing my risk foods and creating safety around eating them I was able to advance quickly. When I've had slips and relapses I've had to put boundaries back in place but it doesn't take me long to get back on track.

WHAT IF I HAVE A SLIP DURING THE CHALLENGE?
if you have a slip and want to turn it into a recovery learning opportunity, here are some questions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZhdjmzEVA6UTCNAEU53xn9LuN8TOfLbl/edit
(you don't have to post your answers if you don't want to, but I do recommend writing or typing them out somewhere)
HOW CAN I GET A REMINDER TO CHECK IN TOMORROW?

🔗Damascus Folding Knife with Leather Sheath

https://preview.redd.it/zlnjakn3bd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ada70181c321ff062a8ac49574784bc891f0edc
Oh, the Damascus Knives 1320BL Prideful Fang Caper, such a mouthful, isn't it? But let's just cut right to it and talk about the knife itself. Now, I'm not exactly what you'd call a knife aficionado, but this one sure did feel different in the hand. The blade, about 6-1/2 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide, was made of Damascus steel - a beautiful fusion of metals that gives it a unique, patterned look. That's what I noticed first, actually. It's like having a piece of art you can actually use!
But it wasn't all looks, that's for sure. The handle, a simple wooden design, was sturdy and well-balanced, even with the leather sheath included. This felt like a tool built to last, just from the feel of it. But let's not forget about those laws, either. The ownership, carry, and use of knives certainly vary from one community to another, so it's essential to know and follow the specific guidelines in place. And if you're planning on letting kids play with it? Well, that's a big no-no. It's not a toy, folks. It's a serious tool designed for serious work.
All in all, the Damascus Knives 1320BL Prideful Fang Caper caught my attention right away, not just for its eye-catching design, but also for its build quality. It's not a knife for everyone, and it's certainly not a toy. But if you're looking for a real, sturdy knife that carries its own beauty, then this might be the one for you.

🔗W.R. Case & Sons Damascus Steel Pocket Knife, Handcrafted in the USA, Limited Edition

https://preview.redd.it/xprgzi04bd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0560aa7f07f4363c664eee80b3bc113b1afc8133
As someone who loves pocket knives, I was thrilled to get my hands on the Swell Center Jack Vintage Bone. This distinctive knife stands out with its Damascus Steel and Vintage Bone Handle.
Handcrafted in the U. S. A. , the 77462 from W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co.
is a rare gem, as only 1,400 of these beauties were created. Weighing in at 1.7 oz, the knife is light enough to carry around effortlessly yet strong enough for day-to-day tasks.
While it's a work of art in itself, the user experience could be improved with a smoother opening mechanism. Overall, this knife is a testament to the craftsmanship and elegance of Damascus Steel, making it a worthwhile investment for any pocket knife enthusiast.

🔗Buffalo Horn Hunter Fixed Blade with Tru-Sharp Surgical Steel by Case XX

https://preview.redd.it/9jjvfoa4bd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68ea980b72425d6071c335fa1649ce8086f957dd
The Case XX Buffalo Horn Hunter Fixed Blade really is a gem in my collection. I was initially drawn to its Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel, which truly holds up well over time. The natural buffalo horn handle adds a touch of elegance and makes it easy to grasp when in use. The handcrafted nature of the knife, combined with the fact that it's made in the U. S. A. , only adds to its credibility.
Although the black leather case it comes with is functional, it would be nice if it were a bit more durable. Also, the weight of the knife is quite noticeable, especially for everyday carry. However, these minor drawbacks do not detract from the overall quality and craftsmanship of this knife. It's definitely a tool you'd want to have in your belt if you're into hunting or survival situations.

🔗Handcrafted Purple Curly Maple Damascus Knife

https://preview.redd.it/bpldq7q4bd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75d217ca5b650a5afaa89318988ea19aee0c3305
Using this beautiful Case 80541 Stockman Purple Curly Maple combination in my daily life has been a delightful experience. The eye-catching Purple Curly Maple Wood Handle adds a touch of elegance that catches everyone's attention. The famous Case Ichthus shield and mirror-polished Tru-Sharp surgical steel blades truly stand out, making this a unique and reliable choice.
Of course, there are some minor drawbacks to this stunning knife. The handle could be a bit larger, and the overall weight might feel a bit heavy in the hand. However, the quality and craftsmanship of the blade itself make up for these minor issues.
Overall, this Case 80541 Stockman Purple Curly Maple is a stunning and reliable knife that I've come to enjoy using in my everyday life. The handcrafted design and exceptional materials make it the perfect addition to any collection.

🔗Antique Bone Handle Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel Damascus Knife

https://preview.redd.it/j53meww4bd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43e13036b3f5f21f661a546211698dc028ba414a
I've been using the Case XX Congress Antique pocket knife for a while now, and I must say, it's a beautiful and functional piece. The antique bone handle makes the knife feel sturdy and grippy in my hand. The Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel blades give it its sharp and shiny edge, while the sheepsfoot and pen blades lend versatility to its functionality.
One of the things that stood out to me is its handcrafted nature, knowing that it's made in the USA with pride. It's also relatively light, weighing about 1.2 ounces. However, the only negative aspect for me is the rather small size, which sometimes makes it a bit less ideal for larger tasks. But overall, I'm a fan of this knife and its classic design.

🔗Case Patriot Trapper Knife with Kirinite Handle

https://preview.redd.it/ye7lphb5bd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fa6329e272d2c6c35af47f59c083079a2026ba4
As a product reviewer, I've had the chance to put the Patriot Kirinite Trapper Pocket Knife to the test in my daily life. The knife boasts mirror-polished Tru-Sharp surgical stainless steel blades that provide a reliable and long-lasting edge, perfect for a variety of tasks. The smooth Kirinite handles, with their striking red, white, and blue design, lend both style and substance to this compact yet versatile piece.
During my time with the knife, I was particularly impressed by its metal oval-shaped shield inlay which bears the prestigious Case logo, adding a touch of prestige to its already impressive design. As it is a product "made in the USA", I feel confident in its durability and craftsmanship.
However, just like any other product, it's not without its drawbacks. My only concern is the price point, which may seem a touch steep for some users. Despite this, I would still highly recommend the Patriot Kirinite Trapper Pocket Knife for those who seek quality, style, and versatility in a reliable blade.

The Case 17916 Hunter Knife, sporting a unique Buffalo Horn Handle, was my go-to companion during recent hunting trips. Its handcrafted design in the U. S. A. adds a touch of pride and authenticity. The Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel blade held an edge like a dream and offered exceptional strength and resistance to corrosion.
However, what stood out the most was the knife's compatibility with the leather belt sheath. It provided an easy carrying solution for my daily life. The only downside was the limited color options for the belt sheath, which might not suit everyone's personal style.
Overall, this fixed blade knife is a reliable and durable companion for hunting and outdoor adventures, and the buffalo horn handle adds a unique touch to its design.

2024.05.19 13:06 AnAmericanJewel No capacity, but he can still decide?

About 2 weeks ago my dad (90) was taken into the hospital (which is a whole tale by itself) with a blood glucose of 500. He had been living by himself with little to no help except me (43) nearby.
He was kept for a week and that whole week it was a constant stream of begging for a lawyer, telling anyone he could that his constitutional rights were being violated, and how could I allow them to do this to him. They had to unplug his phone because he kept calling 911 and he threw a fit and pushed some staff (not to hurt, just to get in trouble) to try to get arrested so he would get a lawyer then got mad when hospital security came (which he called the gestapo).
Every day, I asked about a capacity assessment, they never did one but up and down the documents it says that he does not have capacity to make medical decisions at this time. Diagnosis was metabolic encephalopathy, which I had never heard of, but okay. He has refused to take metformin or lisinopril in the 2 months I've been getting involved in his medical care. "Dementia" was not mentioned one time in his hospital records.
We knew in home care wasn't going to be an option (another separate tale which I may already have posted about). We had been checking out a few ALFs in the weeks prior so I picked one and we moved him in. I took him myself to get him there the quickest. Things were a little rough because he had some GI issues.
He called me that night with the nurses in the room trying to get him to take his medication (the above and Seroquel, which he had been taking in the hospital). In desperation, I told him I would not come the next day if he didn't take it. He was not pleased but he took it.
The next day I was told as soon as I came in that he refused again this morning. We had a whole talk about it and he was adamant and then he getting wild and said he was leaving. I told him, I'm so sorry dad but you cant leave on your own. Oh my god. What a mess.... He pushed me out of the way and stormed down the hall looking for exits it was a whole thing. I was not helping and the staff member we were working with told me it was okay to go. About an hour later they called and said they had to call 911. He was getting physical (he isn't fat, but hes on the taller end and REALLY strong) and could not be redirected. He urinated on himself then dropped his pants and defecated on the patio.
So less than 24 hours after leaving he was right back in the hospital. This time they said they had diagnosed him as having dementia (lie), but also that even if he doesn't have capacity that he can't be forced to memory care (they even consulted the hospital ethics department). He is adamant that he does not want to go anywhere he isn't "free" but when I try to talk through what going home looks like he shuts down. I contacted Dad's lawyer and he said "this is bizarre" -- There's an AMD and we just need the capacity letters from the doctors to have it enacted otherwise any person with dementia can just say they don't feel like doing XYZ.
There's also an interloper involved that may have good intentions but is not helping. The hospital was going to release him to her 24/7 care. I don't even know this person, I've talked to her once on the phone and she's only gotten the version that my dad is giving her (he doesnt remember either of the events that relates to how he got to the hospital). The geriatric doctor that came in told me she has never said this but she has never been so uncomfortable with someone being in the room. Dad referred to this person as his fiancee to nurses yesterday morning, but when I asked him in the afternoon he said it was completely platonic but due to much restraint on his part.
(In home care isn't an option, over the last 6 months we have had at least 20 caregivers. Most don't last the day, maybe 3 have lasted more than one day. He becomes sexually inappropriate or propositions them or gets curious if they do things he doesn't want them to do or does them incorrectly in his opinion.)
I have never been so tired.

I've been wearing a Cartier Love Bracelet, small model, in rose gold for quite some time now. It's not just an accessory; it's a statement piece that has become a significant part of my daily style. The first thing that grabbed my attention was its unique screw design, which symbolizes an eternal bond. Even more appealing is the rose gold tone, which adds a touch of romance and elegance to the bracelet.
One of the highlights of this bracelet is its versatility. It goes perfectly with any outfit, whether it's casual or formal. And though it's a small model, it feels very sturdy on my wrist - a testament to Cartier's craftsmanship.
On the flip side, since it's made of rose gold, I find myself needing to clean it more often than I would with other metals. This doesn't bother me too much though, as I enjoy taking care of my jewelry.
Overall, the Cartier Love Bracelet has been a wonderful addition to my jewelry collection. Its timeless design and symbolism make it an ideal gift or a personal treat.

🔗Cartier Love Bracelet, Small Model - Yellow Gold Bracelet for Women

Imagine wearing this golden bracelet that's like a lock for your wrist. It's called Cartier's Love Bracelet, and it doesn't just look beautiful, but it also has a story behind it. This bracelet was designed in 1969 by a very talented man named Aldo Cipullo.
He made it to show love that lasts forever, kind of like when you screw a lid on really tight to keep your favorite toy safe. When you put it on, it gives you that feeling of being locked in love, just like how a key and lock keep a secret.
Wearing it on your wrist is like wearing a secret that only you know, all wrapped up in a warm golden color. To pick the right size, you just need to measure your wrist as you would for other bracelets, and then add one or two centimeters to get the perfect fit.
This bracelet is part of the LOVE collection, so it has a lot of company from other beautiful and meaningful pieces of jewelry.

As I slip on Cartier's Juste Un Clou Bracelet, Small Model - Bracelet Pink Gold, I can't help but feel a sense of sophistication and boldness. The bracelet, inspired by the simple nail, has been transformed into a statement piece by Cartier. Its 18-karat rose gold construction and sleek rhodium finish give it that touch of luxury that I absolutely adore.
However, I do find the clasp a bit too tight, making it slightly difficult to take off and put on. Overall, though, it's a stunning addition to my jewelry collection that's sure to garner attention and compliments.

As a product reviewer for Cartier's Juste un Clou collection, I am absolutely smitten with its modern twist on the classic nail bracelet. Imagine walking down the street, your wrist encased in a stunning piece of jewelry that's not just a statement, but an ode to the rebellious spirit of the '70s.
The golden hue of this bracelet never fails to catch the eye, while the hinge's ridged detailing adds a touch of industrial chic. However, be prepared for the weight of this bracelet, which some may feel is a tad too heavy for extended periods of wear.
Overall, it's clear that Cartier has taken the ordinary and elevated it to the extraordinary with their Juste un Clou collection. If you're looking for a unique statement piece that pays homage to the carefree spirit of the '70s, this is definitely the bracelet for you.

In the world of luxury fashion and timeless elegance, Cartier's Juste Un Clou bracelet is undoubtedly a standout. As a user of this beautiful 18K white gold piece, the first thing that grabbed my attention was the design. Inspired by a basic nail, the bracelet's bold lines and sleek curves exude a sense of power and confidence. Every time I wear it, compliments are guaranteed.
Performance wise, the bracelet's solid white gold construction ensures durability and a touch of opulence that never fades. Its sturdy clasp makes it easy to put on and remove, and I can confidently say that it stays securely on my wrist all day.

Plus, you're not just buying a bracelet, you're investing in a symbol of timeless elegance that will never go out of style.
Lastly, the Cartier box and receipt included with the purchase add an extra layer of satisfaction, making the overall experience feel even more luxurious. Overall, if you're looking for a statement piece that can stand the test of time, the Cartier Juste Un Clou bracelet in 18K white gold is a top contender.

I recently tried the Cartier - Juste Un Clou Bracelet, Medium Model - Bracelet Woman Gold, and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. The stunning 18K rose gold design stands out as a sophisticated addition to any outfit, seamlessly blending elegance and charm. What truly sets this bracelet apart for me is the unique, distinctly Cartier twist on the iconic "juste un clou" or "just a nail" concept, making it a statement piece that is both timeless and trendy.
On the negative side, I did notice that the carat weight, number of stones, and dimensions can vary based on the size you order, which might be a drawback for some buyers who prefer precision in their jewelry purchases. However, this did not dampen my overall enthusiasm for this beautiful bracelet, and I believe anyone who appreciates fine craftsmanship and elegant design would be equally captivated by the Cartier Juste Un Clou Bracelet, Medium Model - Bracelet Woman Gold.

2024.05.19 12:33 3ll10t__ How do I stop worrying when I don't get a reply?

TW: Death?
For as long as I can remember, I've always assumed the worst when I dont get a response from someone. It's pretty much always been like this, but it got worse when I stopped getting responses from my best friend when I was 11, and the next day, I was told he passed in his sleep. Since then, I've been terrified that even 20 minutes without a response means the person I'm talking to is dead or something terrible has happened to them.
Right now I've been waiting for a response from my partner for I think only 2 days, but we normally talk for like half of the day (the other half we're asleep or doing something else) but a few hours before I stopped getting responses, they said their whole family and then may have gotten food poisoning and they felt sick. From there they went to sleep, and that brings me to where I am now. I've been worrying ever since, and I can't get the nagging voice out of my head saying they could be gone forever. I've lost sleep, haven't eaten, barely gotten out of bed. I know it's bad that this is what happens when I don't get a message for 48 hours, but I really don't know how to fix it. I'm so stressed I can't focus on anything or even do anything.
Edit: I got a message back! Every time this happens I feel relief but also like a fool... Oof.

2024.05.19 11:32 Any-Background1659 Was this from too much alcohol or did they put something in my drink? help

Hi guys. I am making this publication because I feel worried and I would like you to please read my case and respond to me based on your experience. I really need it... and I don't know if it's this the right forum...
I am a 25 year old man who attends parties and drinks alcohol occasionally and with self-control, my head may spin, but I am always aware and remember everything. On Saturday, May 11, I attended a party where I went alone and was drinking and socializing with different groups. I have no idea how much I drank all night, but it was several sips of a 6% vodka carbonated drink. I believe that from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m it will have been 1 liter in total, I think. I usually drink little by little, but when the party got exciting around 3:30 a.m It was when I started drinking the drink as if it were water (By then I had already joined another group). At 4:20 a.m They were already throwing us out of the place because they were already closing and I left with this group walking towards the whereabouts (which was 20 minutes from where we were). By then my condition was normal, I was not sleepy and much less drunk, I was super aware of what was happening around me. A few minutes later while I was walking... in the blink of an eye I wake up in a hospital with an serum IV, but only for a brief moment because then in another blink of an eye I remember that I am getting to my room with the help of my relatives and the first thing I do is turn on my PC, I could barely write and I tried to look for answers and what had happened, but my head hurt a lot like I had a hangover. (My jacket, my glasses, my cell phone, my card were stolen, and the password had been changed on one of my emails) After that I don't remember much, I think I went to sleep and got up the next day in the early morning more aware. That day I had not eaten anything all day.
In my emails he said he had done a transfer at 4:52 a.m. and another at 08:06 a.m. and I wonder: How? Because to enter mobile banking you need a pin number (I don't have my fingerprints registered in the app, only to unlock my cell phone) and then according to my Google route at 4:48 a.m. I was already at the whereabouts, where they found me lying on the ground 3 hours and later notified my relatives. Why can't I remember anything? Is it possible that I was drugged or did I just drink too much? This is the first time this has happened to me and I am worried about how I was able to be so accessible to give important information, because I have no signs of having been physically attacked and to this day I have a slight taste bitter in my mouth.
My mom shows me the photos of that day in the hospital where I look terrible, my eyes drooping, staring at nothing, and super serious. She said that sometimes she would shake (maybe from the cold) and she could barely get up. The only words I said to my mother were: How did you get there? How did you find me? She also says that I was the one who had given the number when the police had found me lying there. (He tells me all this days later)
It's been 1 week since then, I've cried a lot and I can't sleep because I can't understand how this happened to me, but I'm grateful to God for being alive and without any injuries.
Has something like this happened to you? Some answer? How does the body of a person with excess alcohol function? Do they really faint? In the sense that they faint fall to the ground? Or is there another type of internal fainting? I'm new to this and I would appreciate if you could answer me, please. Sorry for my English, I'm using a translator.
Thank you.

2024.05.19 09:25 WTFHAPPENEDT0MYLIFE Started no contact tonight

Posting this to keep myself accountable. My ex is blocked everywhere now. I also got really good and don’t stalk on socials anymore. I used to creep on things like Spotify and IG but haven’t done that since like Dec. Also helps that I don’t have anything besides this Reddit account. I don’t plan on saying one word to him ever again. My mistake was having such a big heart and still trying to be loving and kind. When people show who they really are, believe it. There will be no him coming back. He’s made it loud and clear he’s happy without me in his other life. Yet why would he come to surprise me at the club on my birthday when it was just us there alone? Then ghost. Treats me nothing more than a play toy he’s abused. Here’s the beginning. May need support down the line when times get tough. I need to learn to unlove this man. No pics or messages left no chance of reuniting and having a better future. So to infinity and beyond now with this

As an avid card collector, discovering the Pennzoni display card deck display case was a game-changer for me. Before using this case, I can't tell you how many times I've knocked over stacks of playing cards or struggled to see them all at once. But ever since I started using this case, my card collection has never looked better.
The thing that really won me over about this case is its spacious interior. It comfortably holds up to 65-70 decks of cards, and unlike some other cases I've tried, it can handle taller and thicker decks with no problem. Plus, the crystal-clear acrylic door lets me admire my cards without ever touching them - no more smudging or smearing!
However, it's not all perfect with this case. The paint smell was quite strong when I first got it, which was a bit of a turnoff initially. But, after airing it out for a few days, the smell dissipated significantly and my cards are now safely tucked away.
Overall, the Pennzoni display card deck display case is a must-have for any serious collector. It not only provides a sleek and elegant way to display your cards but also offers ample space to keep them organized and protected.

As an avid baseball card collector, I was thrilled to get my hands on the Card Titan Slab Safe. I've been using it to store and protect my valuable PSA graded trading cards, and it has been a game changer. The precise row size of 3.34 inches x 8.25 inches x 4.5 inches deep, which fits up to 36 standard card PSA slabs, has allowed me to keep my collection well-organized and secure.
The quality of the Slab Safe is top-notch, with its aluminum frame, diamond ABS panels, and laser cut foam interior making it more robust than traditional cardboard storage boxes. This extra durability is perfect for safeguarding my prized PSA, BGS, SGC, HGA, and CSG graded trading cards.
In terms of capacity, the Slab Safe does not disappoint, holding up to 108 standard card PSA slabs. However, storage capacity may vary based on the graded card brand and slab thickness, so do keep that in mind.
Security is a top priority for collectors like me, and the Slab Safe delivers in that aspect, featuring two combination locks to ensure only authorized individuals can access my collection. Plus, its rubber feet on the bottom and hinge side prevent sliding and scratching on glass countertops.
If you're a serious collector looking for the best way to store and organize your graded cards, I highly recommend giving the Card Titan Slab Safe a try. It has everything you need - space, protection, and versatility.

As an avid trading card collector, I've tried numerous display options to keep my cards safe and showcase them beautifully. The Grade Displays 3 Card Black is hands down my favorite. This sturdy little stand has a triple layer system that securely holds my cards and the clear acrylic design lets me admire them from every angle. Plus, the hidden metal screw caps give it a seamless and polished look on my wall.
One thing I particularly appreciated is how this stand can effortlessly protect my valuable cards. It has a strong build and the transparent acrylic prevents dust and scratches from damaging them. Additionally, the stand's free-standing design means I can quickly move it around or adjust it to fit any space in my room.
However, there's one downside - the size. It's a bit too small to fit some oversized trading cards. But overall, the Grade Displays 3 Card Black is a fantastic product that every card collector should own. It strikes the perfect balance between functionality and style, making my favorite cards look like pieces of art on my wall.

As a fan of sports and someone who loves collecting baseball cards, I have been using the Fanousy PU Sports Card Display Case for quite some time now. This elegant case is not only a safe haven for my cards but also adds a touch of classic aesthetics to my room's décor.
The first thing that caught my attention is the use of PU leather which is a refreshing change from the regular plastic display cases. It makes handling much easier and gives my cards a velvety touch that's quite comforting.
Another aspect I appreciate about this case is its ability to hold both graded and ungraded cards, making it versatile. The capacity to fit eight cards at once is generous, saving me from constantly swapping out the displayed cards.
One feature that stands out is the 98% UV protection, keeping my valuable cards safe from any potential damage caused by sunlight. Plus, the anti-theft lock ensures peace of mind knowing my favorite cards are securely displayed.
However, there's a bit of a downside - the case does require assembly, which might be a little bit time-consuming for some. But once you get past that hurdle, it's smooth sailing!
In conclusion, the Fanousy Baseball Card Display Case has not only enhanced my collection but also added a unique charm to my room. While assembly can be a small setback, its overall performance and sturdy design make it a worthwhile investment for any serious sports card collector.

I recently got my hands on this marvelous Lockable 36 Graded Sports Card Display Case for Football Baseball Basketball Hockey Cards CC02-BL. I must say, it's been an absolute game-changer in the way I've been organizing and displaying my precious sports card collection. The sheer size of it, measuring 30.5 inches in width, 24.25 inches in height, and just 2 inches in depth, is just what I needed.
The mahogany color and the smooth edges of this hardwood display case bring an air of sophistication to my game room where it proudly hangs. I also appreciate the bevelled shelves that prevent my cards from sliding, providing a secure and snug fit. And let's not forget about the brass hinges, door latches, and wall brackets that make it wall mountable, a feature I didn't realize I needed until I had it.
One of the things that really caught my eye is the super fine fabric mattified black background. It truly elevates the look of my cards, making them stand out in a stunning contrast. Plus, the acrylic door cover has been a life-saver in keeping dust and potential damage at bay.
However, one con I've encountered is that it doesn't come with a lock for added security, which I wish it did especially considering the valuable contents it holds. Overall, this display case has been a fantastic addition to my sports card collection and has made preserving and showcasing my cards a whole lot easier and more secure.

🔗Temgee 36 PCS Trading Card Protector Case

As a baseball card enthusiast, I've always struggled with finding a proper way to keep my collection safe and visible. That's when the Temgee Graded Sports Card Display Case came to my rescue. It's a large, wall-mounted case that comfortably holds 36 graded cards in a neat and organized manner.
Its black matte finish gives it a sophisticated appearance, making my home office look like a dedicated sports card room. The outer dimensions of the case are impressive at 30.5" x 24.3" x 2.1", providing ample space to display my most treasured cards. The inner dimensions are thoughtfully designed to fit the standard graded sports card sizes perfectly.
The use of wooden frames and acrylic view glasses adds both durability and visibility to the case. I don't have to worry about my cards getting damaged or accumulating dust, as the brass hinges, door latches, and wall brackets keep everything secure and the acrylic door cover protects my collection.
However, one downside I noticed is the weight. At 12.8 LBS, it's quite heavy, which might make it difficult for some people to mount on the wall. But overall, the Temgee Graded Sports Card Display Case has made my card-collecting hobby even more enjoyable, providing a safe and elegant space to showcase my favorite sports cards.

🔗Secure Lockable Trading Card Display Case

That's when I stumbled upon the DisplayGifts Pro UV 44 Graded Sports Card Display Case. This sleek, black-finished frame is not your average display case. It boasts a solid wood structure that speaks volumes about its durability and sturdiness, making it a perfect companion for my valuable cards.
What really caught my eye about this display case is the UV protection offered by its super clear acrylic door. This is a game-changer for me as it ensures my cards remain safe from any potential damage caused by sunlight. The door opens upwards with top hinges, preventing the case from toppling over while I'm admiring my collection.
One of the best features I've come to love about this case is the lip on each shelf. It keeps my cards firmly in place, avoiding any unwanted sliding that could lead to scratches or damage. Plus, it's incredibly easy to set up - no fuss, no tools, just unpack and start displaying your cards!
Another standout aspect is its size. The 37-inch width is perfect for showcasing a variety of cards with different dimensions. It's important to note, though, that only cards no taller than 5.5 inches will fit, so make sure to measure up your cards before making a purchase.
All in all, the DisplayGifts Pro UV 44 Graded Sports Card Display Case is a brilliant addition to any collector's arsenal, offering both style and protection. Its unique features make it stand out from the crowd, and I can't recommend it enough for anyone seeking a safe and elegant way to showcase their beloved trading and sports cards.

I recently purchased the Pennzoni Baseball Card Display Case to spruce up my growing sports card collection. This display case has been an absolute game-changer for me, and it's evident that it was crafted with precision.
The meticulous hardwood construction elevates any display space, and its elegant color options make it easy to customize according to your personal style. Its primary function, however, shines brightest - this case comfortably secures up to 35 graded cards, ensuring that your valuable collection stays safe and sound.
I was particularly impressed by the crystal-clear acrylic door and UV protection, which not only provide a visually stunning presentation but also protect my valuable cards from fading. To top it off, the lockable feature ensures that my collection is secure at all times.
Despite these fantastic features, one aspect felt slightly underwhelming. The extra hardware for horizontal setup wasn't readily available; however, customer service promptly resolved this issue. Overall, the Pennzoni Baseball Card Display Case has made a significant impact on my sports card collection, transforming it into a beautiful, secure focal point.

As a baseball card collector, I've been on the lookout for the perfect display case to showcase my prized possessions. Enter the Pennzoni Baseball Card Display Case, a handcrafted hardwood beauty that truly makes my cards shine. With 36 graded spots for various types of cards – from Pokemon to NASCAR to basketball – this case has room for all my favorites.
What I particularly love about this case is its meticulous polish and elegant black color, which easily complements any decor. The crystal-clear acrylic door safeguards my cards from fading and damage, so I can rest assured knowing that my collection will always look its best. Plus, with the option to add extra hardware for a horizontal setup, it's versatile enough to suit my changing needs.
However, one small drawback is the weight of this case. At 16 pounds, it might be a bit cumbersome to move around easily. But overall, the Pennzoni Baseball Card Display Case not only elevates the look of my cards but also provides a safe space to protect and admire my collection.

🔗Durable and Clear Card Display Case Set (5-Pack)

As an avid fan of collecting sports cards, I've been searching for the perfect case to display and protect my prized possessions. Enter the Display Card Cases from The Container Store. I was curious about these cases, given their simple yet effective design. Upon receiving them, I was excited to see how they would perform.
The first thing I noticed upon holding the cases was their rigidity and sturdiness. Made of high-quality acrylic, these cases provide a sense of security for my valued cards. The snap-open feature is incredibly convenient for quick access, yet the cases close securely to keep my cards in pristine condition.
However, there was a minor hitch in my experience. One of the five cases in my package didn't fit together as tightly as the others, and it opened a bit too easily. It was a small issue, but it did concern me about the quality control. Fortunately, the other four cases in the pack snapped perfectly, providing the protection and ease of use I was looking for.
In conclusion, the Display Card Cases from The Container Store are mostly effective in their purpose. They offer the necessary durability and convenience for card collectors. The only area of improvement would be to ensure consistent quality across all cases in a package. But overall, these cases deliver and make a worthy investment for any card collector.

I received it as a wedding gift and it's become an essential piece of home decor. Made of handcrafted brass, this sturdy piece has a vintage and eye-catching appearance that's sure to add charm to any room. The reinforced glass also ensures that it's safe and doesn't break easily, which I truly appreciate.
One of my favorite features is the swing lid, making it perfect for centerpieces or flower arrangements. Its sleek gold geometric shape adds a contemporary twist while still feeling timelessly elegant. Plus, it's large enough to hold up to 100 pcs of regular 4x6 cards, ensuring there's plenty of space for all your well-wishers' notes.
Overall, I am absolutely in love with this gold terrarium card box. Buyer's Guide

When it comes to collecting cards, displaying them is just as important as acquiring them. Card display cases not only protect your cards from environmental damage and wear, but also showcase your collection in a professional manner. In this buyer's guide, we will explore the important features, considerations, and general advice for choosing the right card display case for your needs. Firstly, consider the material of the display case. Cases made from high-quality materials, such as acrylic or polycarbonate, offer better protection and durability than those made from cheaper materials like PVC. Ensure that the case you choose is UV-resistant, especially if you plan to expose your collection to natural light sources. Secondly, pay attention to the size and design of the display case. Make sure it suits your collection's size and style, as well as the available space in your display area. Cases with adjustable compartments are ideal for accommodating various card sizes and formats. Also, consider transparent or opaque options based on your personal preferences and privacy requirements. Thirdly, take into account the mounting options offered by different cases. Some cases may come with built-in stands or wall mounts, while others may require additional hardware or DIY solutions. Choose a case that provides versatile and secure mounting options to suit your display requirements and ensure your cards remain in place without causing any damage. Lastly, consider the overall quality and brand reputation. Opting for well-known and reputable brands can guarantee better performance, longevity, and customer support. Read reviews or seek recommendations from fellow collectors to make sure you're getting a high-quality, reliable display case for your valuable cards. In conclusion, choosing the right card display case involves considering factors like material quality, size and design, mounting options, and brand reputation. By prioritizing these aspects, you can showcase your collection with pride and protect your valuable cards for years to come.

  2. Place the card in the case, aligning it with the edge to ensure a snug fit
  3. Apply gentle, even pressure to the back of the card, pushing it firmly but carefully into the case until it clicks in place
  4. Close the case securely and check that the card is firmly seated within the case without any wiggle room

What is the proper way to clean and maintain card display cases?

Clean and maintain your card display cases by following these guidelines:
  1. Keep your cases away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures
  2. Dust the exterior surfaces of your cases with a soft, lint-free cloth
  3. For persistent dirt or grime, use a mild solution of water and dish soap, then gently clean the area with a damp cloth
  4. Dry your cases thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth to prevent moisture buildup or streaks

How can I secure and lock my card display cases?

Many card display cases come with built-in security features, such as key locks or screw-down latches. To secure your cases, follow the manufacturer's instructions and use the appropriate tools (e. g. , a screwdriver) to tighten or lock the case securely. For added protection, consider storing your display cases in a locked cabinet or display case, or invest in a security system for your collection area.

Can I use display cases for other collectibles besides cards?

Yes, card display cases can be adapted for various collectibles, such as coins, buttons, or stamps. However, make sure the case dimensions and material quality are suitable for the particular type of collectible you plan to display, and always store and handle your collectibles with care to avoid damage.

2024.05.19 08:53 Alternative-Habit789 Why do so many people seem to be against couples looking for a threesome?

Me and my bf have been talking about this for a while now. I’m bisexual and we have always causally brought it up in the beginning of our relationship but only started taking the idea of it seriously a few months ago. I’m bisexual and very experimental when it comes to my sex life. We aren’t necessarily actively looking for someone to join us but more so if it happens it happens. We have debated maybe downloading an app or something to try out. (No not a dating app such as tinder, but an app more geared towards what we are looking for).
However I’ve seen a lot of negative opinions on this topic. Saying things such as couples doing something similar “wanting an alive sex toy and not treating them as human beings” and things along the lines of that. I don’t get the thought process behind that? While there may not be a romantic connection between all of us that doesn’t mean the girl joining would be treated as less than human?
I understand that there are icky pushy couples out there praying on random bisexual girls and such. But ppl tend to give the advice of “get an escort or try swinging”. Both of which I’m not interested in.
Is it so wrong to want a no strings attached threesome with another girl either just once or maybe just a casual every once in a while thing? I would always be upfront about intentions and always have with everyone. I’ve had threesomes in the past before my current relationship and enjoyed them a lot.
I just don’t quite understand the negativity around the subject? If a consenting adult is down for it why is it a problem? I mean I just see it as sex, just with more people I don’t understand how it would be viewed so badly but would definitely like to be educated if it seems I’m going about this the wrong way! I understand how some couples may go about things the wrong way. But if there is open communication and all parties are equally focused on each others pleasure and comfort is it unethical?

2024.05.19 08:45 bonelesstick Is it possible I'm autistic?

I think I may be neurodivergent, I think it's very likely I have dyscalculia, and I think I may be autistic as well.
I've always had a difficult time making friends, and all of my childhood friends are neurodivergent. I do not have a hard time keeping friends, but I do not know how to start conversations with other people. I'm not very good at keeping conversations with neurotypical people going, and the only thing I've learned to do is ask questions, because if I'm asking questions, the other person is talking, which means I'm not, and that's good. I'm not uncomfortable with eye contact, but I do not know how much or how little I should be giving in a conversation, so I tend to stare at people's eyes when they are talking. I do not feel lonely easily, and enjoy being by myself a lot of the time, which may just be introvert behavior. Sometimes, people call me weird though I do not understand what I am doing wrong to be called that. I do not take offense to it. I also get called quiet, even though I enjoy being around people, and I'm not shy, I don't get that either. I listen to people all the time, especially when my friends infodump. I enjoy talking about my interests, though I have realized that many people are not actually listening to me, so I have stopped doing that as much. It hurts my feelings more to know I wasn't being listened to than to not talk about what I wanted to talk about.
I have a difficult time navigating familiar places. My school's layout is still confusing for me, even though I've been going there for nearly 2 years. Driving is an absolute nightmare for me, and I need a GPS to drive otherwise I will get lost. I get my lefts and rights easily confused, and I get confused with my feet a lot. Dancing is really hard for me because I can never figure out what I'm doing. PE was always unpleasant for me because I hate doing group exercise and I never understood the rules of any game. I would always watch people to figure out what was going on.
Some textures and smells bother me a lot. Lavender has been an overwhelming smell for me my entire life, it gives me a headache. Most fruit's texture upset me. I hate the feeling of biting into a strawberry, and I hate how berries pop in your mouth. I also really hate food with any kind of skin to them. Berries are absolutely awful because of this, beans are also really unpleasant, and so are hotdogs. I've always been a picky eater, and was even underweight until I was about 12 because I hated most foods. Thankfully, I've gotten a lot better about it.
I find most places are too loud, and I get overwhelmed very easily. When I get very overwhelmed, I want to leave the room or cry, but I usually just sit there and plug my ears. I think I need to get ound cancelling headphones. I think the sound level in public is fine most of the time, but when I'm already stressed out, it gets much worse. Also, whenever I'm stressed, I hate the way the water touches me when I shower.
I constantly fidget, and I usually wrap my fingers around my hoodie strings, and I have twisted them to the point where they have broken and I have hurt my wrist. I continue to do this even though it has caused me pain. I have also been rolling up paper into little balls for nearly 3 years now. I fill up glass bottles full of these paper balls, and have filled over 100 glass bottles up. I love rolling up paper, and I do not enjoy ripping up the paper very much. I also own 13 3D printed sensory toys, they are all animals and I take at least 1 with me everywhere I go. I like rubbing my thumb on them a lot. Also, I love background noise and listen to music for that reason, but it needs to be quiet enough that it doesn't bother me.
I get very attached to certain topics, such as Rain World lore or Don Hertzfeldt's work. When I find something I get attached to, I try to consume all the content that I possibly can, multiple times. I have probably seen the second episode of World of Tomorrow 100 times, maybe more. Most of the YouTube content I consume are videos I've already seen. I've rewatched Markiplier's Inside playthrough many times.
Anyway, thank you for reading, and I hope you have a better than mediocre day/night.

2024.05.19 08:41 Call-Me-Freyja Brain fog, confusion, feelings of guilt and shame after coming out of my caught early 2nd psychotic break......

I came out of a psychosis episode today and now I am left with feeling like I am half in my body but not all the way there while my mind has bran fog and a pressure in my forehead. I feel guilty for subscribing to so much new age spirituality and I feel remorseful I ended up getting so lost in the proposed idea of "enlightenment" when in fact it was just spiritual psychosis.
I believed I was highly enlightened and everyone else was stuck in this thing I called a 'grid system' and no matter how much I tried to perceive their humanity, I still went back to this supposed idea of a grid system and 'Matrix' belief...... And I can only surmise I had maybe even FOUND THAT NIRVANA..... That Bodhi Tree.... But was lost in "I AM" instead of "WE ARE"..... Will try to figure this one out, slowly but surely.
This would have been my 2nd MAJOR psychotic break had I not caught it EARLY ON.
A lot of what I am realizing is that life is short, we all eventually die, and perhaps it is not wise to get so involved in organized religion when you have a knack for getting so psychotic, sick, and ill you end up having an external reality breakdown due to all of the seemingly exciting and adventurous sounding things that do arise with this western theology of spirituality.
I kind of already miss my psychosis. And I kind of wish I just took care of myself much better than I did over these past three months of living on my own in a 1`bedroom apartment.
God, that sucked. What sucked the most was having the self awareness early on that I was psychotic and having treatment resistance to a hospital or psych unit. I listened to a heal psychosis subliminal on loop, a brain fog subliminal, remove suicidal thoughts/depression subliminal, had a pagan friend of mine send REAL as well as ACTUAL calm and easing energy, and on top of the subliminals plus food I have eaten - I feel like I am getting better, slowly, but better nonetheless.
I don't know if any of what I am describing right now is a universal thing we all experience after coming out of our psychosis.
But I am fortunate for the pipe bombs I laid down in life's game of misery and insanity only to re-discover that sanity, my own personhood, and now.. To find out who I am, what I want to represent, and where I can go from here.
Thanks. May Creator watch over you all.

2024.05.19 08:04 ijustneedsomeadvice7 19M, 5'9 155 pounds, chest pain and heartrate of 190 bpm, doctors have yet to determine cause

Hi, this is gonna be a bit long, but let me explain the entire situation so far: Going back about a year or so, I started noticing an elevated heart rate above what I usually would have. I have an apple watch that allows me to check my heart rate, and around this time I started to get notifications that my heart rate was above average (in the 120s to 130s range while resting as opposed to my normal 60-80 range). This happened a few times along with some very minor chest pain / tightness, however after laying down for a few hours / going to bed it would usually return to normal. Around the same time I got diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD and placed on an SSRI to help my anxiety after trying ADHD meds and not liking them. I never really had any incidents with high heart rate after that, so I had assumed it was just anxiety causing it (and that may still be the case). A few months went by and I ended up starting college and got myself a girlfriend. As I ended up finding out, SSRIs, while great, have the unfortunate side effect of erectile dysfunction, so I weaned off my meds so I could prioritize my love life. There were a few incidents after this where my heart rate was above average, but again I just chalked this up to anxiety, as it would usually go away on its own. At one point I went into my on campus doctor's office just to verify my heart was okay after an elevated heart rate the night before, and they gave me an EKG which came up clear. Months go by, and things are fine, besides a slight uptick in anxiety. Unfortunately however, my relationship began to crumble and my anxiety skyrocketed, and we eventually broke up, which led me to talking to my doctor and getting placed back on anxiety medication. However, I really didn't like how SSRI's impacted my libido, so after trying a few more SSRI's I was placed on Buspirone. I love Buspirone, and it's made a noticeable difference on my confidence / reducing anxiety. When I take my full dose at once (30 mg), I tend to get a bit dizzy / nauseous, however when split up into 10 mg taken at breakfast lunch and dinner I have no noticeable side effects. I will say (and I don't know if this is in any way important but I'm just naming everything possible), I have noticed that since stopping the SSRIs and starting Buspirone I tend to ejaculate VERY fast which is abnormal for me, and although I would like to fix that it is not my main concern. Moving on though, after about a month or two after being placed on Buspirone, we get to where my heart problems start. As someone who had never used any substances my entire life, leaving home and going to college gave me the freedom to try new things, and although I know it's not great, on weekends me and my friends will get together and drink or occasionally smoke weed / take an edible. I was worried at first about interactions with my medication, but after some research all anything online could tell me was that I may get drunk faster / more nauseous and dizzy, which wasn't too big of a deal for me. I had tried weed earlier in college and didn't like the way it made me feel, however after being placed on Buspirone I decided to try it again and actually enjoyed the feeling, so I started doing it more on the weekends as opposed to just drinking, which leads us to the incident. Me and some friends had just sat down to watch a movie, and all taken an edible. Time passed, and I started to notice that my heart rate was extremely elevated, way more than I was usually used to. I checked my heart rate, and found that my watch was displaying an average of 160 bpm. At first I thought I was just having a bad high and tried to calm myself. I laid on the floor and put some ice on my forehead, but nothing was helping. I checked my heart rate again and saw that my watch was displaying 190, which really freaked me out as that was way higher than I had ever seen before. I had my sober friend call Public Safety for me, and they came to my dorm room and did a basic check up on me. They said that I had a fever, and when they took my heart rate they got something in the 160s range. Their explanation was that my anxiety, when combined with being high and likely being sick made my heart rate elevated, which made sense at the time. I went into my college's health services to follow up the next day since my heart rate was still elevated (in the 120s-130s range), however they again told me it was probably just anxiety. A few days went by and my heart rate was STILL above average, so I decided to double check with my real doctor off campus. About a day before this I had also stopped taking my medication to see if it could be the cause for my elevated heart rate. The doctors took my vitals and immediately noticed that had very high blood pressure and an elevated heart rate, to the point where they sent in a second doctor to recheck my vitals and make sure it was correct. After talking to me and having me give a run down of my symptoms, they had me schedule an appointment with a cardiologist and told me that if I ever experience chest pain and a heart rate above 100 bpm that wouldn't go down to go to the hospital. I had also told them about how I stopped taking my medication and they told me that that was fine and to tell the cardiologist about it. About a week passes, and I have my cardiologist appointment in a few days. I had been up the night before working on my final exams, so I hadn't gotten much sleep, and besides a breakfast sandwich that I had for lunch I hadn't eaten much either. I had been experiencing chest pain all day, but I assumed it was being caused by my lack of sleep, so after classes I went and took a nap. After a few hours I woke up, and immediately noticed that I still had chest pain. I checked my apple watch, and my heart rate was displaying roughly 90-110 bpm while laying down, which on top of the chest pain made me worried since my doctor had told me that that was cause to go to the hospital. I called my parents to tell them about it, and they drove to the school and had me sit in the car and eat some food they had made to see if it would help at all. However, even after this, my heart rate was still above 100 bpm and I still had chest pain, so my mom made the call to bring me to the hospital. While on the way to the hospital, out of nowhere my heart rate increased to about 170-180 bpm, which freaked me out. We arrived at the hospital, and they immediately gave me an EKG to make sure I wasn't going to drop dead. During this time, I also was shaking a lot and couldn't make myself stop. Eventually they took me into a room and decided to run some tests on me. The tests they did are as follows: BASIC METABOLIC PANEL, CBC WITH DIFF, TROPONIN NH, D DIMER DEEP VEIN THROMB LEVEL, TSH REFLEX, X-RAY CHEST PA AND LATERAL, and ECG-12 LEAD. While I'm not a doctor, from what they told me and from what I can see, everything turned up pretty normal. My potassium was a smidge low, as well as my MCV and MPV, and my Monocyte (absolute) was a tad high, but generally nothing to worry about. The website where I'm viewing my test results display my ECG as abnormal and an attached document says I have left atrial enlargement as well as sinus tachycardia, but they only mentioned sinus tachycardia in the hospital so I assume that it was just the machine reading my test results and giving its own diagnosis. Long story short though, I left the hospital a few hours later, and although I still had a slightly elevated heart rate they said I was fine to go about life normally and to follow up with my cardiologist. Cut to the present, and I just met with my cardiologist a couple days ago. I gave him the general rundown of the above story (but didn't mention the edible as a precursor to the 190 bpm heartrate as my mom was in the next room over and the door was wide open), and after checking my vitals he told me that although I did have an elevated heart rate and high blood pressure, my chest pain probably wasn't a huge concern and that he wasn't too worried it was anything life threatening. He told me I could resume taking my meds (which I had temporarily replaced with ashwagandha supplements while I waited for the appointment and have since stopped taking), and had me wear a little device that monitored my heart rate for 24 hours, which I'm set to return in a couple days. He also told me that when I returned it he would check my results and give me an echocardiogram and go from there. So, with any luck, he should be able to figure things out then. However, I wanted to post this to see if anyone could help me get any ideas on what it could be that I could run by him to help speed things up. I also have a recent theory of my own that I want to hear advice on. I was doing research and discovered that Buspirone, when taken with other medication that increases serotonin, can cause serotonin syndrome. After another google search, I found out that weed can increase serotonin levels. The only hole in that theory is that I stopped taking Buspirone after the initial spike in heart rate / blood pressure but had no noticeable changes. Another theory I have is that it could be some form of dysautonomia, as I fit many of those symptoms. Oh and one last thing, if you can't think of anything in regards to what could be causing my elevated heart rate, I actually would like to know why I'm ejaculating so fast so I can fix it because its gotten to the point where I can't even enjoy masturbating because of how fast I cum.
In case I missed anything, here's a list of my symptoms (although I have no idea if they're all correlated):
TLDR: I have a high heart rate and blood pressure and can't figure out why

2024.05.19 07:48 EmergencyCat235 Update - planaria killed my mystery snail.

Please don't be mean to me, I'm so upset. My blue mystery snail has been killed by planaria before I could destroy them... I am such an idiot, I saw him half buried under some groundcover and thought he was 'sleeping'. He was actually being eaten alive!!! 😭 I wish I'd removed them both immediately!
My orange mystery snail is still alive, and I've transferred him to a makeshift tank while I treat the main tank with Flubendazole. I don't even know if he will survive the move, and he may have planaria inside his shell.
I feel absolutely sick that this has happened. What an idiot 😢
I HATE PLANARIA WITH SUCH A VENGEANCE NOW

2024.05.19 06:54 panella_monster Getting a group of different age toddlers to nap

I don’t do this for work but at my church I take care of the preschoolers/toddlers. There are about 7 of them ranging from 18months to 4 years. I love being with them during awake times. We sing, I keep them from hurting themselves or each other, etc. It really is a good time and I very rarely have to raise my voice and can get them to listen by getting on their level and being gentle but firm. They love that I am silly with them even though I’ll take away a toy they are fighting over or put them in a couple minute time out if the infraction was bad enough.
It’s the nap time. I’m really struggling with that. I’m the only one in the room with them and when half of them keep running around how can I sit next to one and rub their back when 3 others are all over the place?! I haven’t crossed a line but omg it makes me so overwhelmed and crazy. I have no idea what to do and the fact that they are that different in age and coming from different families makes it all the more confusing.
I have no experience with child care, just my almost 2 year old thats in the mix. I get more aggressive with him because I cant with the others and I feel so much guilt after. (he's fine, i just don't spank him at home, but I have there when he wont stop squawking so dang loudly) I really don't want to repeat my mom's behavior when I was growing up but it is just so overwhelming. (I’ve had lots of therapy because of my upbringing since I only learned one, very unhealthy, way to express anger along with other stuff. I get so scared when I feel myself wanting to behave the same way)
I may not be the most suited for this role but there aren't many others who are willing to be in kids room. I already plan on talking with the main woman. Maybe I can just be with the elementary school kids. They may be annoying (lol) but I don't really get overwhelmed. Being able to actually communicate with them is everything. I can communicate with kids but toddlers are another beast.
Even if I do end up with the older kids more I still would love any advice on dealing with that many in that age range all by myself. Other mom’s think I'm too gentle. I just don't think kids should be punished for age appropriate behavior. I try to be understanding and gentle with them and we have such a good rapport. When it isn’t nap time I have control of the room and let them just be kids while keeping order. They listen to me when I require it and I don’t have an issue keeping composed. I'm just at a loss during nap time.
If you read all of this and have any insight or tips I would be so grateful.
