2024.05.19 22:31 flowersinblooom I dated a pwBPD for a year and it’s been so hard to heal from.

Months ago, I broke up with an abuse exwBPD (let’s call her F) not only was the relationship almost exageratingly intense and awful, but after we broke up, the mental anguish still stayed. I apologize if this isn’t 100% making sense as English isn’t my first language.
Before we even started dating, she was sprouting lots of red flags. She told me she had BPD, and beforehand, I had no experience BPD, I knew some things that were common knowledge. but wasn’t 100% on what it entailed. I was extremely naïve and took her word for it wanting to be supportive. She told me constantly that I was her favorite person, and showed me what seemed like HUNDREDS of notes on her phone talking about me. The only thing she told me was that they were notes about how happy she was to have me as a friend because “everyone left her” and I was “the only person who got her.” I was extremely creeped out, but still, being naïve didn’t say anything. She texted me almost 24/7, and would send me lots of “I love yous” begging to know the more intimate parts of my life, always asking what happened to me as a kid to make me “so kind and sweet.” When I couldn’t respond to her messages, she spammed my phone non stop begging me to get back online.
I decided to tell my friends about her, and immediately one of them had a reaction. I live in a very small town, heck, we don’t have most fast food restaurant chains or a walmart. I asked her if she knew who F was, and she confirmed that yeah, they were friends at one point in time, and F was an absolute awful person. She recounted that she always felt the need to 1-up people’s problems and would suddenly get mad at people and backstab them over slight miscommunications. I knew I should’ve listened to her, but I didn’t.
Last year, she asked me to be her girlfriend, and I said yes, that’s when things went from bad to worse. Her “spamming me when I didn’t respond” thing went from somewhat playful to demanding, and she would spam me with long essays about how I clearly didn’t love her anymore, to which we talked and she then demanded that I had to tell her everytime I was going to be busy so that she didn’t “worry about me.” Every other day, she would send me messages begging me not to ever abandon her to which I had to be there for hours reassuring her I didn’t want to do that. It had only been a week and I already wanted to leave, yet I remember her telling me “I feel like one day you’re going to leave me and completley move on, but it’ll be months and I’ll still be crying about us.” This is what kept me trapped. She showed me the notes she wrote about me before, and they were genuinely horrific. Some were of her detailing how she would hate to live a life where I ever stopped talking to her, others were detailed fantasies about me and what I was like, even keeping a photo album of pictures and videos that reminded her of me. All this before I even started dating her. I quickly realized I couldn’t talk to her about my issues. Everytime I tried telling her about something in my life that would happening, she would pull a “Me me me!” And, like my friend warned me, had to 1-up me. When I told her I had autism, she immediately was saying things like “if you’re autistic, then I’m absolutely screwed!” She always mirrored my personality, taking note of the shows and movies I liked, claiming to be huge fans of them and calling everyone else a fake fan. I’m not even sure the point of that. She absolutely HATED the fact I had friends. She often told me my main friend group was “clearly trying to harm me” even though I told her I’ve never been hurt by them, and she would glare other people who had given me hugs. Many people brought up her abusive behavior towards me as they picked up on it before I even could. All of this would repeat and cycle for a whole year. I became extremely depressed, wanting a way out but not finding one.
Months ago of last year, was when the breakup finally happened. I was with her and recently she had gotten obsessed with going out and shopping, so she asked me to come to the mall with her. I said that I couldn’t at the moment but I’d be willing to go later, not expecting anything, and she absolutely flipped out. She begun crying saying it was clear I never had any time for her and that I was just going to abandon her like everyone else. This went on for a while until she told me that she hated me and never wanted to talk to me again. Yet despite that, the next day she sent me a long message asking for my forgiveness saying that she was so stupid for what she did and wanted to be friends again. I was still broken from how she treated me, and so I obliged, but after a week she told me she was dating her new friend and blocked me when I said “Congratulations!” Because I was “Clearly being sarcastic.”
It’s been months, and I still feel so much pain from it. One of her co-workers who I actually know, (again, small small town) told me that she had been spreading rumors that I was a “narcissistic abuser” who never cared about her or was there for her. More than anything I’m just hurt and it feels so hard to heal. Finding this sub has been such a help though, but at the same time it’s great and also disheartening that I’m not alone in my experience.

2024.05.19 22:06 plz_help_me_33 Could this be some sort of food poisoning? [35M]

35 Male, 6' 145lbs
TL;DR: can bloating and low grade fever be the only symptoms of food poisoning?
This past Thursday evening I ate a serving of lentil soup, a piece of pita bread, and a chicken shawarma wrap from my nearby middle eastern restaurant. About 4 hours later I started to feel very full, bloated and slightly nauseous. I took pepcid and gasx but it persisted throughout the night. Didn't sleep well at all all of Friday my belly felt very bloated like there was trapped gas and I had no appetite at all and wasn't able to pass gas or have BM (hence the gas pains). Over the course of the day it moved slowly down to around my belly button and by Saturday morning it was more my lower abdomen that felt bloated. I tried to make myself vomit at one point on Friday to see if that would relieve some pain but I could only dry heave. It had probably been about 20 hours at that point since I'd eaten so I guess there wasn't anything to throw up? Saturday I was able to eat a little bit throughout the day but still had bad gas pains and started to have a low grade fever around midday which lasted the rest of the day/ night. Today (Sunday) I've been able to eat about 70% or so of my normal diet but still feel a bit of gas pain in my lower abdomen and was finally able to have a normal BM and then an hour later have diarrhea. I'm just wondering if all this could be some sort of food poisoning? I'm almost positive it's not my appendix bc my right side never really hurt. Has anyone else experienced this?

2024.05.19 20:45 desireefashionbiz Travel Belize Event

Experiencing Belize like a local involves immersing yourself in its culture, cuisine, and natural beauty while avoiding the typical tourist paths. Here's a guide to help you blend in and truly enjoy Belize like a local: 1. Explore Local Markets
San Ignacio Market: Every Saturday, this bustling market in the Cayo District is filled with fresh produce, local crafts, and traditional foods. Engage with vendors, try local fruits, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
Belize City’s Michael Finnegan Market: Known for its seafood and local produce, it's a great place to sample local flavors and interact with Belizeans. 2. Eat Local Food
Street Food: Try local favorites like panades (fried corn patties filled with fish), salbutes (deep-fried tortillas topped with chicken or turkey), and garnaches (crispy tortillas topped with beans and cheese).
Local Restaurants: Dine at small, family-run eateries known as "comedor." Some recommendations include:
Elvi’s Kitchen (San Pedro): Famous for its Mayan buffet nights. Neri’s Tacos (San Pedro): Renowned for breakfast tacos. Dits Saloon (Belmopan): For traditional Belizean dishes.
  1. Embrace Local Culture
Garifuna Drumming in Hopkins: Experience traditional Garifuna drumming and dancing. Visit the Lebeha Drumming Center for workshops and performances.
Mayan Villages: Take a tour to a traditional Mayan village, such as San Antonio or San Pedro Columbia, to learn about their way of life, crafts, and history. 4. Enjoy Local Festivals
Lobster Fest: Celebrated in June in San Pedro, Caye Caulker, and Placencia, this festival features music, dance, and a variety of lobster dishes.
Deer Dance Festival: Held in August in San Antonio, this festival celebrates Mayan traditions with elaborate dances and rituals. 5. Adventure Like a Local
Caving and Hiking: Locals often enjoy the natural beauty of Belize through outdoor activities. Try exploring the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave or hiking in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve.
Fishing: Go fishing with local fishermen to learn traditional techniques and enjoy the fresh catch. 6. Learn the Language
Kriol and Spanish: While English is the official language, learning some Kriol and Spanish phrases can enhance your interactions with locals. Common Kriol greetings include "Weh di go aan?" (What's going on?) and "How yu di du?" (How are you?). 7. Use Local Transportation
Chicken Buses: These colorful and affordable buses are a common way for locals to travel between towns. It's an excellent way to see the countryside and meet people.
Water Taxis: For island hopping, use water taxis that locals frequent between Belize City, Caye Caulker, and San Pedro. 8. Respect Local Customs and Environment
Environmental Respect: Belizeans take pride in their natural environment. Participate in eco-friendly activities and avoid littering.
Cultural Respect: Be mindful of local customs and traditions. Dress modestly in villages and ask for permission before taking photos of people.
By following these tips, you’ll not only enjoy Belize’s hidden gems but also gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of its culture and people. Book Travel

2024.05.19 20:26 FormalBadger202 C&A who is Able? & who’s stuck in the circus (The amazing digital circus)

So we already know that in universe the amazing digital circus is made by the company C&A and we already guessed that Caine must be that C so the A must be Able , I theroise that Bubble is Able, for these reasons
1.Able can be taken from bubble Bubbles-ubble-uble-Able
2.the two of them are always together and we never see them separated
3.theyre interactions are usually talking about what is going on in the adventure or it’s them just standing (floating?) around togetheeating at a restaurant
4.it makes sense both creators/owners of the amazing digital circus and C&A would have self insert AI characters
5.both characters are in the opening and introducing the adventures together
  1. Caine is always popping Bubble and in the biblical story Caine kills Able
And probably more, I more so think that instead of them being stuck in the game that the AI was just based on them and mabye in universe voiced by them aswell because it would make sense from the self insert npc/ai standpoint I think that there’s definitely something more going on with the company of C&N that might explain what’s happening in game We can even connect it to the theory that Pomni being part of the game development or the real worlds Canies daughter because of the amount of people trapped in the circus and not knowing how time in the circus passes it makes sense that game developers or family of the game developers would be the first ones that get trapped during a beta test before it releases to the public
In today’s theory episode the idea that Kinger was a programmer who’s job was to look for bugs hence his fascination with actual bugs (I completely agree and like that theory)
But could we make this connection with other characters like Ragatha was in HR at the company or Zooble being a character designer or Gangle making 3d models or doing merchandise design (the “ figurine thing” could not just have been a joke it could have been a clue) Cofmo being a the comedy/joke writer for scripted dialogue.
Going off the theory that Jax is an NPC then that leaves Pomni who can be connected to the game development in many different ways
Anyway I might have gotten off track with this (sorry lol) but what do you guys think or theorize about any of this

Ik heb echt lang gezocht maar kan m niet vinden. Het is dus niet "ligfiets café"

2024.05.19 15:54 MendUrways Summer time shirt related blues

Every summer the sun comes out and the dudes take off their shirts. And I can't leave my house because I'm reminded that I can't do that in front of anyone. I couldn't even change in front of the other girls in the locker room in gym class, I'd feel obscene.
As a historian, I'm keenly aware men used to only go topless in homo-social situations where it was just men. About 100 years ago men fought for the right to go topless in public beaches, sharing space with women and children. The reason swimsuits were unisex was because 100 some years ago in America obscenity laws were equal for everyone.
Women have spent the past 100 odd years fighting to breast feed in the same spaces men can go shirtless, or anywhere people eat (like restaurants); it was in effort to stop feeding babies in public toilet stalls. Makes sense. Only the so-called female nipple has a practical function to be exposed.
Obscenity laws for our "bottom parts" make sense since they function in private and ought to function in private, whether to evacuate urine/feces or for sexual relations. It is precisely because of these functions the "genitalia" are banned and considered nudity.
Now, if women want to beat the heat, they better work out that booty because swimwear is about showing off the backside cheeks. However, I guess I grew up being told to cover my butt up, so that's not an option I'd do in public. I don't want people staring at my butt.
Meanwhile, even I'm wearing a tight so-called female swimsuit top it shows off the entire shape of my chest leaving nothing to the imagination the dudes walk around topless without the extra layer of spandex-y type material that is really trapping heat and annoying. Sure, should be moisture wicking and stuff, but women's swimwear seems to trap in the heat. Padding is like wearing little miniature winter coats on my chest, on each "boob," which for me draws attention to that area in more ways being topless would not... Does this make sense?
I'm supposed to show off the shape of my breasts while keeping them covered. I'm supposed to wear itty bitty triangles over them and prevent "nip slips"... let alone I'm expected to shave before I go out in public in these skimpy swimsuits which leave nothing to the imagination.
Men, however, get to throw on baggy shorts and they're ready to go. The prep time is nil. Unless he's in speedos no one is seeing the literal shape of his nether regions. I have supposedly no choice unless I put on even more layers. Shorts and shirts, sweltering in the heat, surrounded by topless dudes who I never gave my consent to frolic around me topless.
Used to be I advocated for equal rights and women going topless but now I just think men should cover up. The conservatives are using their children (girls mostly) to protest seeing a topless "boy" (actually trans) in the locker room. Apparently all this time unbeknownst to me girls don't want to see that. But at the pool, beach, playground, park, street, backyard, frontyard, etc, it's unavoidable. It's totally legal. Males can expose themselves outside the locker room all they want.
When do we accept this as... acceptable public behavior? We know it's nudity, but we must pretend not to notice it. Females are not covered up for having breasts, it's for having nipples. Well last time I checked, dudes have nipples. So that's a double standard.
Sure, this comes down to some primal jealousy I have but for all my life I can't enjoy the summer air the same way. I feel defective, not sexy, and why would I want to feel "sexy" in front of the public of all ages? Why should we say it's cool if men go topless because some of them are sexy, this is a family beach. We say we don't want groomers and pedoPh!les around our kids, who are mostly men let's face it, but we allow strangers to walk around our children topless and think it's OK.
If some topless dude sent your young teen a photo of himself topless, he's not being obscene? It's not nudity? I'd say lock that creep out, because if a woman did the same thing she'd be in prison.
It's rude and most dudes I ever met who go topless around kids/women are usually very narcissist and want that power over others. A sort of Look what I can Do but you Can't.... in addition I'm 42 so starting to have those hot flashes. It's impractical for me to wear more clothing but I'm basically indecent all over, from the bottom to the top. It depresses me so much, always has.
Wearing a sundress to air myself out is not helping plus dictating if only I changed what I wore I'd feel less hot in the sunshine. Put the dudes in sundresses too then. See how they like it.
We should all wear wetsuits. This inequitable definition of what is nudity has only resulted in over a century of men feeling superior for the most overlooked reasons --- they can mow the lawn half naked, they can walk down the street half naked, and no one will tell them what to do. The only places practicing good reason are the No shirts No service shopping centers. We should go back to decency laws, that apply to everyone equally. If men want to be topless, go back to the bathhouses where it was acceptable before and usually almost always places for gay men to frequent to "see topless dudes" DUH...
If nobody wants to see me topless, then understand this--- I don't want to see your dads and sons topless around me. Cover up. Show some respect to women/girls. It is at least disrespectful to flaunt and exercise this law around girls/women--- it is at worst abusive and done without remorse. "I don't care about your comfort, only my own".... it teaches misogyny.
But it's "too hot for a shirt!" Stop it. Apparently it's never been hot for me, I must run cold blooded...
End rant.

2024.05.19 13:47 Office-Scary "Work hard, put money in your 401k, and you'll retire comfortably some day too" 🙄

I don't tend to be a "generationalist", but it only takes a few charts to realize the baby boomers were born in a time with most of the benefits and were able to push the bulk of the problems off to the next generations. https://wtfhappenedin1971.com/ may be a bit outdated, but it shows the slow and steady decline of living standards for the majority of us blue and white collar workers and I'm sure if it showed after 2020, it would he accelerated on most of those metrics. We have all been put on a treadmill running faster and faster just to keep up. The ones starting out are finding it harder and harder to get ahead, and the only ones benefitting from this monetary system are the ones holding assets that are being inflated as fast as prices are increasing on everything else (food, energy, etc). We've all been handed over to a system designed to not only keep us poor, but slowly dissolve the wealth the older generations accumulated. It's a giant debt trap, and it will try to keep you on that treadmill until the day you die. NO better than serfs. Sure, we have our fancy peasant restaurants and chain stores, but it's modern day serfdom. Many well off individuals in the older retirement ages are completely disconnected from just how bad it has gotten. This sub is a light on that and why I decided to post this here. It's going to fall on the generations that will have to struggle with what has been left behind on our shoulders to figure out how the generational inequality became so bad. The answer is the money. Plain and simple. Fiat currency allows our government to spend as much as they want allowing them to print what they need to cover entitlements they simply have no reserves for. If you want to fix a completely broken system, fix the money. If a well off retired individual has a million dollars saved, and it is sitting in bonds, they are making 50k right now (minus taxes) to do absolutely nothing. That interest payment is coming from taxes and the rest not covered by taxes is coming directly from dollars made out of thin air. Idk about you, but considering I work my ass off for a little over that really pisses me off. People ignored the monetary system long enough because many don't have the time to learn how it works in their busy lives. Now I see the frustration mounting especially because of housing. I know many are looking for answers. Once you understand what our "money" is, it all starts to make alot of sense. It's the root of this problem. It's not red or blue, black or white, male or female. It's the central banking system vs all of us.

2024.05.19 05:13 Forsaken-Mud-1247 Red Lobster Auction went very wrong. What now? (Florida)

Looking for some advice and this seemed like a great place to ask!
We own a small independent pizza shop, and are working on opening up a coffee shop for my wife. Not on the restaurant Equipment business.
I recently saw the Red Lobster Auctions and while I didn't need 90% of the stuff, I saw a great opportunity to get a full POS, lots of plates, smallwares, etc, for a deal.
We actually were outbid but the winner failed to pay so it was offered to us. Awesome! Except then the trouble started.
The auctions were listed as Entire Restaurant Contents. There was a "Sample" inventory list but it was noted that items would vary by location. In the photos on the auction were two items of great interest: A large Ice Maker and a Conveyor Dish Washer.
Thursday evening I contacted two movers who specialized in restaurants (which actually cost significantly more than the auction itself), due to all the stuff being listed as having to be our by end of day Friday. Then I was told the pickup window was actually only 6 hours (9 AM to 3 PM), no big deal though, hired one more mover.
Next bit of trouble came after paying for the auction, which is when they sent an exclusions list. On it there were two exclusions of concern: Dishwashers (if Eco Lab Branded) and Ice Makers in some locations. I verified the pictures of the Dishwasher, no Eco Lab branding, phew. Verified that the ice maker was not only in the list of items but also in the pictures. Figure my location must not exclude it, otherwise why show 5 pictures detailing it.
Then my team arrives. Everything is gone except for the big equipment. The televisions at the bar, the pots, pans, cleaning supplies, smallwares, blenders, mixer. The only things left was the large equipment, most of which was connected, and tables / booths.
For reference on this next parts, my bid on live auction was on Monday, this was now Friday. Two representatives were on site: The old General Manager representating Red Lobster, and a sub contractor representing the interests of the auction company.
When asked about all the missing equipment, the General Manager said they bought a large dumpster on Wednesday and all her team came in and threw everything away in the dumpster, which was already gone. Extremely unlikely, as I doubt Red Lobster would spend the money to throw away items that they're auctioning off. It got even weirder when "employees" showed up and were overheard talking about picking up items from the restaurant.
While my team leader tried to sort all of that out, the rest of my guys went to work on disassembling items. Except, Everytime they touched something (undercounter bar cooler, bar taps, booths, etc) they were told, "Oh no, that's not included," or, "Someone else already bought that."
After about 2 hours of back and forth, the on site representation finally conceded to let us take MOST of the stuff that was still there (which wasn't much). Because of the now reduced time of only 4 hours, most of the valuable stuff being gone already, and the high end items like the dishwasher and ice machine now being excluded, we only filled 2 of the 3 trucks.
I have called the auction company and apparently they said that my experience was not alone, and they were currently having a warroom on what to do next because of all the issues. They said they will likely have some solutions in how to make it right on Monday. The representative on site tried to get my team to sign a waiver of liability before leaving, but we refused.
What can I expect from this process now, and do I have any legal recourse? I would have thought that the buildings would have been secured to prevent theft while the auction was going on but obviously not. My biggest concern is that, while my costs weren't horrible at 15k, only $5500 was to the actual auction, the rest was to transportation. I certainly have concerns now that I won't be able to make my money back, let alone a profit. I know that it's a gamble, but I feel like this experience was borderline fraudulent. Any suggestions?
ETA:
If nothing else, I feel like the auction violates the law in my state (Florida), as there is a statute that covers misrepresenting facts. Specifically FSS 468.388 Subsection 11b 1 through 3 which reads:
No licensed auctioneer, apprentice, or auction business may disseminate or cause to be disseminated any advertisement or advertising which is false, deceptive, misleading, or untruthful. Any advertisement or advertising shall be deemed to be false, deceptive, misleading, or untruthful if it:
1. Contains misrepresentations of facts.
2. Is misleading or deceptive because, in its content or in the context in which it is presented, it makes only a partial disclosure of relevant facts.
3. Creates false or unjustified expectations of the services to be performed.
The auctions were listed as Entire contents, with the only exclusions listed on the auction in the terms being "Photos may show items that are not included in auction (e.g., infrastructure, HVAC, plumbing, etc."
Here's the link for anyone interested in how it was presented

2024.05.19 05:06 stel1234 [Resource] You never know who will play your mashup: Why we give production feedback especially on album projects + common issues

I know a lot of producers have talked about unsolicited feedback in the past but this post isn't about that. It's about feedback for various projects and feedback that gets requested and given. This also applies equally to original production in many cases.
A good number of mashup producers do not tend to master or don't apply limiters on tracks, or just make them softer compared to commercial levels. When albums get mastered, loudness will usually be adjusted through various plugins (EQ, multiband compressors, limiters, clippers, etc.) to shape masters so that one track is not significantly louder or softer than another especially back-to-back and groups of tracks follow a certain sound.
What this means is that once your softer mashup of -14 or -15 LUFS or softer is amplified to commercial levels in the -7 to -11 LUFS range or more depending on genre and how the overall track should sound given peaks and valleys with softer and louder parts (LUFS stands for loudness units full scale, look that up), small issues may stand out like thorns when amplified. Bottom line: Don't take the small or big issues personally; we're all human, we all miss things, and we can all improve. You may learn something new!
Think of it like how you ask to proofread writing to check for spelling or grammar and have it work for the audience.
All this to say, feedback I give or others give based on small details may come across as nit-picks at first. Don't completely discount them. You never know who will want to play your tracks, and this could range from personal playlists all the way up to DJ gigs and big festival stages.
In the case of a club DJ or performances on festival stages, volumes will be significantly louder than what you may have worked with when you created the track. I've given the restaurant food analogy before but I'll give it again: If something clearly doesn't taste good, people won't usually know why. But an experienced chef who knows how the ingredients interact sure will.
Just something to think about as you improve on mashup production and production in general.
Here are some issues below that experienced mashup producers could point out. Note that a lot of the "don't do this" stuff is really code for "don't do this unless you really know you're doing and it sounds good":

Big issues

Smaller issues

Wow that was a lot and I know it's very overwhelming who don't produce a ton. There might be more issues I didn't mention here, so let me know if there's anything else that could be useful.
Update 1: Added "bad phrasing" under the off structure issue, this is the DJing term for it
Update 2: Added two variations of "too much going on" to the bigger and smaller issues
Update 3: Added "Starting the first part of the mix you can hear too early or too late" and "Incorrect end of loop region/end of track marker too late" as two additional small issues.
Update 4: Changed one bullet to "Incorrect end of loop region/end of track marker too early or too late"
Update 5: Missed a dB amount for the 3-5% wet for when producers use busses, this is about -29 to -26 dB when using 100% wet.

2024.05.19 04:51 Forsaken-Mud-1247 Red Lobster Auction went very wrong. What now?

Grover Fischoeder Timeline
Watching Season 3 Episode 6: The Deepening and came to the conclusion this episode is tied to the movie. As the final plan to stop the mechanical shark, a hole in front of the restaurant, traps the mechanical shark temporarily. It then proceeds to create a b line tunnel into Bobs restaurant. The whole front sidewalk was obliterated and nobody discovered any bodies. In the movie Grover states he had to wait 6 years from when he forgot where he dumped it. Would the body not have been discovered when the shark tunnelled its way from a hole in front of the restaurant into the basement? If so, does this mean the random spot he found to dump the body was in fact from that episodes and the damage the mechanical shark caused?
I am thinking yes

2024.05.18 23:21 Redhair_ [TOMT][MOVIE] hallmark like movie, 2010's

I was in the hospital, and a day after waking up from anesthesia, I watched (to the best of my abilities) this movie. It felt like a Hallmark production, maybe with Chad Murray, but I've searched his IMDb and didn't find it.
The movie was about a woman who had been a sous chef for over six years. She moves to her hometown (I think) where she opens a restaurant of her own. Across the street, there's a bar owned by a man who has a daughter who either likes or doesn't like sports.
The actress has long dark hair and an angular face, and I'm trying to remember who she is specifically, I remember thinking she looked like a Kardashian. In my mind, the actor is Chad Michael Murray, but I wasn't fully alert when watching and all I can offer is that I've seen him before. I think it was from the 2010s era of Hallmark by the feel of it only. I don't remember any Christmas or holiday plot, but the movie ends with a lobster sandwich being important for some reason.

2024.05.18 21:55 EatinSLOCal Golden Gong Chinese Restaurant - Review

Golden Gong Chinese Restaurant - Review
Background:
The tapestry of Asian, and more specifically Chinese, cuisine is ever changing in the city of San Luis Obispo. And while restaurants have come and gone, one Chinese restaurant seems to have lasted the tests of time. One that always seems to just be there. And as it has been a long time since I’ve set foot in Golden Gong, I figured it was time to go back in.
Wonton Soup
Setting:
📍 290 Madonna Rd, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Golden Gong Chinese Restaurant is located down in the Madonna area of town, across from where Madonna Plaza Shopping Center meets the SLO Promenade… it’s across from Dave’s Hot Chicken. Apparently there’s also a Golden Gong in Grover Beach, but I don’t know the relation between the two restaurants, if any. Inside the SLO location is a fair amount of booths that is reminiscent of a 90s era Chinese American restaurant, as well as larger tables with lazy susans, and outdoor patio seating. Golden Gong Chinese Restaurant is open Daily from 11 AM – 9:30 PM. Lunch Special Available from 11:30 AM – 3 PM. Online Ordering is available.
Menu/Selection:
You can find their full menu on their website, and there is a lot, so I won’t type it all here. But the main categories are Appetizes, Soup, Beef & Lamb, Poultry, Pork, Seafood, Sizzling Iron Platters, Vegetables, Egg Foo Young, Chop Suey, Chow Mein, Cantonese Chow Fun, Pan Fried Noodles, Rice, Dessert, Lunch Special, and Dinner Special. As I went in for Lunch, I had the following menus available to me. Chef’s Lunch Specials (all served with wonton, egg flower, or hot and sour soup, in addition to an egg roll and rice) – Cashew Shrimp, Curry Chicken, Sole Fillet w/Black Bean Sauce, Asian Eggplant w/Beef, Chicken, or Pork, Combination Chop Suey, Spicy Chicken, String Beans w/Chicken Beef, or Pork, Kung Pao Combination, Snow Peas w/Beef or Chicken, Chicken or Beef w/Hot Garlic Sauce. Lunch Combination Special (all served with wont, egg flower, or hot and sour soup) – Beef or Chicken Broccoli w/Chow Mein & Fried Rice, Orange or General Chicken w/Chow Mein & Steamed Broccoli, Cashew Shrimp w/Chow Mein & Steamed Rice, Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce w/Chow Mein & Steamed Rice, Curry Chicken w/Chow Mein & Steamed Rice, Sweet & Sour Pork or Chicken w/Steamed Broccoli & Rice, Sesame Chicken w/Chow Mein & Steamed Broccoli, Chicken or Beef w/String Beans w/ Chow Mein & Fried Rice, Kung Pao Combination w/Chow Mein & Fried Rice, Spicy Chicken w/Chow Mein & Fried Rice, Chicken Egg Foo Young w/Steamed Broccoli, & Fried Rice, Chicken Chow Mein w/Steamed Broccoli & Fried Rice, Cashew Chicken w/Chow Mein & Fried Rice, Three Flavor Delicate w/Chow Mein & Steamed Rice, Eggplant w/Chicken Beef or Pork w/Steamed Broccoli & Rice, Chicken or Beef w/Hot Garlic Sauce w/Steamed Broccoli & Rice, Mongolian Beef w/Chow Mein & Fried Rice, and Sweet & Sour Shrimp w/Steamed Broccoli & Rice.
Lunch Combination Special (C) - Cashew Shrimp w/Chow Mein and Steamed Rice
What I Had:
I had Lunch Combination Special (C) – Cashew Shrimp with Chow Mein and Steamed Rice with Wonton Soup. The Wonton Soup is two wontons in a light broth. I will be honest, I’ve never encountered this wonton fold before, it look like it was folded into a cone and the pressed flat and folded over itself, which meant it was a small portion of meat and a lot of wrapper just floating around in the soup. There wasn’t much flavor to it, but I don’t expect much from wonton soup, it seemed par for the course. The Cashew Shrimp is shrimp, onion, mushrooms, broccoli, snow peas, bamboo, and celery in a cashew sauce. I liked the combination plate with the cashew shrimp, chow mein, and steamed rice. The Chow Mein was sauced perfectly, the noodles weren’t dry but they also weren’t oily or soaked in sauce, and had great flavor. The cashew sauce seeped under the rice and chow mein allowing it to get soaked up and enjoy together. The shrimp was cooked perfectly – stilly juicy and plump. Only weird choice was the diced bamboo chunks, which didn’t match the shapes of the rest of the veggies and were hard to fork with the rest of the plate of food. Finally, the portion was large for a Lunch Plate, I left full, which I was surprised about.
Would I Have It Again:
Sure. I was pleasantly surprised with my lunch special, it was both filling and seemed healthy, relative to other oil heavy Chinese Restaurants in town. Golden Gong is definitely filling a certain niche for SLO Chinese food and takeout, so if that’s what you’re looking for in a Chinese restaurant, this is the place for you. Also I didn’t expect to have a Lunch Special that left me full for under $20. So with all of this in mind, Golden Gong Chinese Restaurant gets an Eatin’ SLOCal Rating of – Give it a Try!

2024.05.18 21:06 test1122332211 Today I had a very cool dream that felt like an adventure movie with action and horror

The dream that I had today honestly felt like a movie with action and horror and I liked it a lot, here how it goes:
I was walking in my city in the dark going to a place that's known for being haunted, while walking I found some dogs in the way, they were pretty calm, after more time walking I arrived at the place, this place was enormous and with a lot of people exploring there, it felt like a mix of a mansion and a school, I felt that this place was haunted by many spirits, this was kinda scary but I was amazed and very curious to explore the place, I was entering each room to see all of this place, this place was scary but really fun to explore, it also felt like a labyrinth
after some time I found a woman that was in despair and seeking for help, I was going to help her but something told me that this woman is some kind of trap that will drag you to some quiet place and imprisonate you with the spirits of the house, so I left her there, she said to me to not go away, but I didn't listened to her, I continued exploring this place for a long time, then suddenly the dream changed the pace totally.
My vision wasn't on me anymore, now my vision was following a scared guy that recently entered the place, he was being chased by two persons, they wanted to kill that guy, he was fleeing from then and trying to warn the security about these two killers, the guards aren't listening to the guy so he continued fleeing on fear from the duo, after some time as the guards of the place see the guy really scared they decided to listen to him and warned other guards about the two killers, as the duo realized it one of then ran away from the place, but the other guy picked a knife and started to stab everyone that he could.
at this point my vision returned to me and the dream continued as normal, everyone aware of the crazy stabber started to run away from the place, but I was lost and didn't knew where the exit was, I called my brother with my phone and asked to him about how to escape, he explained to me a plan and a place for us to meet, as my brother arrived at the place I took longer than expected and arrived very late, when I arrived my brother was in a door and I was still far from it, the guy appeared on our room ruining the plan.
My brother was far from him so he was just watching us, I was close to the guy, the guy runned at me, I screamed to my brother to run away while I distract him, I tried to use my arms as a shield, the guy was very close to me now, but instead of stabbing me he picked some grenades, took their pin and dropped on the ground, my brother panicked and ran away, I also panicked, I didn't thought correctly so I jumped from a window (we were in the 4th floor), I tried to protect my head with the arms and fell on the ground, as I fell on the ground I heard 5 loud explosions from the place, I started to run to a place that looks like a restaurant, I saw a family that looks chinese, I tried to talk with then and asking to then to call emergency but they weren't taking me serious, so for a moment I even thought that I was dead because of their emotionless reactions, I noticed that even with the fall of the 4th floor I wasn't hurt, so I managed to calm down because I was in despair, I sitted close to then, the family has a child that was so cheerful, always wanting to play with me, this warmed my heart in that moment, I realized that I was still alive, I couldn't stay there because this restaurant was connected to the place, so I had to return to find the exit.
As I enter the place again I was finding it strange that it was now very silent and I wasn't feeling the spirits anymore, I started to explore a little, it was totally empty, after some time I found the woman from before again, but now she was calm, she told me that I was the one that freed this place from the evil spirits that were controlling this place, she was very thankful, she told me that she was possessed and being used as a trap to drag people to be imprisoned on this place and now she was free, she also told me that the crazy stabber got possessed and wanted to kill some people and himself, and killing himself somehow freed the spirits that were trapped in that place.
I was happy now and felt a big relief for it to finally end, so I called my brother and told all that happened, then I told him that it was the coolest adventure that I made part of in my entire life, he became furious towards me as I was almost killed and was still having fun with all of this, but soon he calmed himself down and agreed with me, and then the dream ended.
honestly this dream felt totally like a movie, but I loved this dream, I wish I could have more dreams like that.
