I had been trying to get past an issue for what seemed like forever and I finally found what the problem was, so I wanted to share my experience in hopes that it might help other users.
The initial catalyst to this was my desktop environment completely freezing and becoming totally unresponsive (not even able to access another tty session). After rebooting, first the fedora loading screen starts acting strangely and refusing to start. This was pretty simple to get past just by removing rhgb from the kernel boot parameters and running fsck (which is what it was complaining about).
Once I was past this, a reboot got me to the graphical login screen. Only now, once I logged in, the screen went completely blank. I was however able to get to another session on tty4 so I could start looking around. What I kept seening via journalctl -xb -r was that there was an initial crash with xdg-desktop-portal followed by a crash with maliit-keyboard. After that almost being started for the session crashed or errored. This is what I would see first https://pastebin.com/iQV4N1sQ. Getting a backtrace via gdb got me this https://pastebin.com/05Qj1YEU.
I searched for reports of similar behavior but couldn't find anything. Next I started uninstalling or disabling things to get the system to a more "minimal" startup, but none of that worked. I realized then I had done all this in haste without first installing debugging symbols so gdb would actually be useful. After that, then the problem was staring me right in the face: https://pastebin.com/x8tD44Db
Specificaly this error message: "No GSettings schemas are installed on the system". That seemed odd to me because checking dnf list installed said I had gsettings-desktop-schemas already installed. I search around for this error message and find a few mentions of running glib-compile-schemas could help but more importantly, it is looking for schemas in $XDG_DATA_DIRS.
I glanced in my ~/.zshenv file and saw I had added this because I was trying to setup flatpak so I could install spotify (which I discovered didn't have an arm compatible build):
export XDG_DATA_DIRS=${XDG_DATA_DIRS}:/valib/flatpak/exports/share:${HOME}/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share
Here's what went wrong: I uninstalled flatpak, but still had this line in my ~/.zshenv file. When I checked what $XDG_DATA_DIRS was set to in my tty4 session, it was only those two directories. I commented out that line, rebooted, and boom working system again.
I checked the value in my terminal now that I was back in KDE and it showed what I would have expected to see: /usshare/kde-settings/kde-profile/default/share:/uslocal/share:/usshare
So, not sure exactly where those things collided with one another, but that's the issue I ran into and how I got past it and back to my working system. Hopefully it might help someone that finds themself in a similar predicament..

I have several big projects with multiple milestones and lists of tasks for each that I want to organize (examples: Organize my home; Learn a coding language; Train to go backpacking.) I'm looking for an app that will let me lay out my projects in color coded blocks, cards, tiles, what have you, then be able to click on a project and see all the sub-tasks, milestones, scheduled things, links, etc.
I've been searching through the suggestions from this sub for hours, installing and uninstalling, signing up and canceling, completing tutorials. I've tried a ton of to do list apps and I still use Habitica for myself and Microsoft To Do to make shared lists with my husband and son (like shopping or packing lists.) But I can't find this thing I want that I see in my head. I'm a visual organizer. I like pen and paper and I'd make this physically but it's wasteful, not very portable, and it only looks clean at the start of the project.
I thought Notion would do it but I found it to be really confusing and not intuitive, and it just looks ugly and cluttered to me no matter what I tweak. Love the priority matrix and pomodoro in TickTick but I want to see my big project headings in a simple sleek colorful main project page. I didn't get far with Success Wizard because I got pissed off at how gendered the category images were, but I could try it again.

Hello guys, my first time posting here and i just wanted to share something that happened to me today. Was playing lockdown, not even ressurgency or warzone and was running double lockwood mk2 and sva. I don't know which suckers spam reported me but i was on a week shadow ban because i was playing PLUNDER and i got unbanned wednesday (in my country, Brazil) then i played all day and today (friday) i was playing lockdown in rebirth just to get server disconnected and shadowbanned AGAIN, for the forth time on the last 5 months.
I simply fucking uninstalled this motherfucking game and i ain't touching it again bro, it's just ridiculous how easy you can get suspended for playing clean, i played since cold war warzone on my pc and never used any illegal stuff and i wanted to share with you guys what happened to me, i apologize for my bad english, i don't have many people who i can practice with.

Hi everyone,
I don't usually do this and I imagine not many would really care but I wanted to share my experience with my first oneplus phone just to vent my frustrations, in particular with their customer service. I am very sour with the situation which I imagine you will be able to easily tell, but I have never had to deal with something like this before.
TLDR: The phone's hardware is amazing, their software sucks and in the off chance you have any issues that requires their customer service's help, well, good luck.
I have had many software issues with the OnePlus 12, I found on some forums people with similar issues such as google apps lagging, closing or freezing. One of the most annoying things personally is banking apps taking 2-3 minutes to sign in after taking more than normal to even open (not an issue with my samsung tablet, galaxy s22+ and for testing sake an LGv20 thinq X).
The one plus store app doesnt show order details on my other devices, only on the oneplus 12 and submitting a return request does not give me a confirmation. The first time I tried was around 13 days in on the return period, then again the week after when I did not hear anything from them.
I ended up chatting with them the next day, they followed their script and mentioned the 15 days return window passed so they cannot accept it. Explained the situation, they then manage to find the second request after some back and forth, never the first one, cool.
They recommend to send it to their repair partner for repairs under warranty, sure, I agree, not an issue. I am asked the basic stuff, have you done a factory reset?( I had) did you uninstall and reinstall the apps with problems? ( yes, I did), is your phone up to date and can you take a screenshot of the android version you are on?( yes and of course, sent). I asked for the perdon to send me a transcript of the chat, they said they can't so copy past it and screen capture just in case.An email is then sent to me with the shipping instructions and then another one with the transcript đź« . I get a box and bubble wrapping to ship based on the guidelines in their email.
Item is shipped and then shipped back to me the next day, they had it for less than 24h, so efficient (sarcasm). I received a fedex mailer with my phone's box in it. I did not know it was the phone until opened since their email strongly advised against sending it this way, and stated in at least 2 separate occasions that all damages incurred during shipping for sending the item this way would not be covered. At this point I am no longer confident in the situation.
The very esthetically appealing red One Plus 12 box is now all scoffed up and dented, thankfully the phone itself has no physical damage. I read the repairshop receipt, they ran a diagnosis and did a factory reset. Turn on the phone android updates were reverted, so it is a fresh install, I figure their update was the issue and I should wait for them to solve before updating android again, download my regular apps, and test, the same issues persist so i do another factory reset and then install android updates before proceeding, all the same.
I contact their chat, again, I am given the same script as the previous time, same apologies in the same place in the extact same words ( It became a meme with my partner how all the agent's names are the most basic, "english", two first name names, like John Jones, William Joe, Kevin bob, all these taken directly from my chats and emails with them. Only one had what I assume was a south asian name that sounded normal).
After the robotic usual stuff, I am told to ship the item again to their repair services to which I say sure, and ask them to provide me a box since they threw away mine with the packaging materials and I do not wish to be liable based on their shipping recommendations. They cannot do this, the very simple issue is escalated, I ask for a transcript again and I am told they do not do this, again. I said they did before, I am asked for a screenshot to prove that, I send one, then I am told again this is not possivle for them to do, ok sure, then I am told the system does it automatocally, it is not them. Chat ends, no transcript was received by the agent or their system, good thing I screen recorded again to be safe.
This then leads to day after day of emails with the same answers, their agents don't bother to read the history or even the responses to their emails. They continue to say the exact same thing and even escalated further. Kevin bob (minions anyone?), the current "highest level" of customer service continues to repeat the same things, does not read my replies and offered one $25 coupon to their store in 2 separate emails back to back as an apology, but why the hell would I want to spend more momey on one plus when my $1000 (canada) brand new phone is more unstable than a lg v20 or galaxy s22? (I got 19 coupons for the one plus store app, everyweek there is like 4 coupons given by for 30% off or $50/$60)
I have submitted a claim with my bank as OnePlus continues to refuse a refund or at the very least provide packaging to send the phone again to their lovely rapair shop partner
Hope you guys enjoy your OnePlus 12. Those of you who have had no issues I truly envy you, because on paper the phone is amazing. The battery life alone was the main reason I wanted it and wow it is above anything else in that category. If you do not have to deal with stupid bugs and their customer service you are set with a great device for the forseable future.
I apologize for any errors in particular with grammar, I am usually comfident in my english but it is my second language and I am also learning french at the moment so things are mixing up in my head.

After 46 hours, I've finished Lies of P. I was absolutely fascinated by this game. I want to say that in the middle of 2024, I was unaware of the existence of a video game genre called "Soulslike." I was playing Red Dead Redemption 2 when I discovered a game called Sekiro. It caught my attention and I decided to install it. I found it so difficult that I uninstalled it very quickly. However, the type of game caught my attention. And that's how I got to Lies of P. And Lies of P hooked me like no other video game has in a long time. It took me a while to adapt, but I finally did and found a lot of fun playing it. Today, after finishing it, I just wanted to express my satisfaction at having completed it. I would also like to thank this community for sharing my experience with the game. And finally, thank you to Carlo Collodi and Round8 Studio.
(P.S. I'm going to take a break from Soulslike games. I'm going to finish Red Dead Redemption 2. But then, what do you think is the best choice for my next Soulslike?)

I don't know what to share , it's just I want to quit gaming, I uninstall the game but after some days i install again and start playing only to get hooked again. This cycle keeps on going and I hate the time i spend on gaming and not doing the things i love. I am very competitive and i start grinding the game again as I know i will get that rank again as i know how dedicated i become toward achieving that. Ngl achieving those ranks have build the confidence that i can achieving anyting i put my mind into. But frankly i don't want to be known as a person who only was good in gaming. I want to learn new things , build a good social circle and build my career. I am currently jobless and I know I can make it if i am consistent but this stoopid gaming ugh... Anyways , let's see how long can i keep myslef away from this habit. Yes to remove bad habits , i should start practicing good habits. So I’m writing this a little concerned but also curious. Personally since ios 17 has come around i’ve had barely to no storage to keep updating my phone with most of my storage being taken up by photos and messages and social media. I have automatic download for updates on…
I went sleep like normal last night and woke up and saw ios 17.5 update completed. I looked at it so confused because i knew my phone had no possibility of updating?? My phone was at 123gb and i have max 125gb. So i checked my storage now it’s at 71.14gb… Its so weird my storage for photos have gone down. I don’t know if this is due to icloud as i pay for storage and maybe all the photos synced but even social media apps now take up little space when it use to take up pretty much the whole phone and i would wonder how and why. That was weird.
Along with my music that had taken up storage and has now been cut down. I’m aware that apple can sometimes uninstall or offload apps but no apps were uninstalled nor offloaded so i’m actually just sitting here scratching my head.
Has this happened to anyone else before? I also feel like my Iphone performance is better. One thing i do wish could be fixed alternatively though is the iphone 12 pro max yellow tinted screen it’s gotten worse and looks like someone’s teeth so i had to change that setting in accessibility but naturally i wish that would go away because it was never like this it had a natural white bright modern touch now it looks odd without accessibility playing the massive role is has to.
Anyways i just thought this was so interesting please share your thoughts as im widely interested.

2024.05.15 06:27 Khelldon78 Guide: Modding for Steam Deck via PC - May, 2024

Over the last month I have had a heck of a time modding Skyrim for Steam Deck. In early 2023 I had modded the game via a Youtube video which worked perfectly but after the latest update, this is no longer the case. Googling provided almost Zero help.. Well through trial and error I've finally got the game modded for Steam Deck with 77 mods running perfectly. Today I'd like to share my findings.
I'll be using Vortex mod manager and SkyrimSE. For any other version of Skyrim just substitute your version instead. Also I know this may look overwhelming, it's not as hard as it looks, I'm just thorough. Aside from waiting for things to download and copy, this will take about 5-10 minutes. If there are issues however, one of the steps to fix this could take hours.
What you'll need:
Getting Started:
Note: If you've already modded Skyrim on PC you can skip this section.
  1. On your PC, Install Skyrim via Steam (remember where you installed it for later).
  2. When it's finished, download and install Vortex Mod Manager.
  3. Open your web browser and go to Nexus Mods and find and download all the mods you want to use. Select the "Files" tab and then select the "Mod Manager Download" option so Vortex can properly manage the mods. You may have to resolve some conflicts or the like, Vortex is pretty good at making that easy.
  4. Once you are happy with the mods you have downloaded and installed. Launch Skyrim through Vortex by clicking the play button on the Skyrim graphic in the top left.
  5. Play for at least 30 mins making sure to try everything, opening the map, your inventory, spells, etc.. If there are no crashes and no visible problems then you are good to go. Save the game and Close Skyrim and move to the next step.

Preparing Skyrim for the deck:
  1. On your PC, open steam and uninstall Skyrim. This will leave you with a Skyrim directory with only the mods and nothing else. (note: certain mods will break with this method, mostly mods that overwrite default textures/models. These aren't common but if you experience this, you can skip this step and proceed to step 2)
  2. Open your Skyrim directory on PC and plugin your thumb/external drive.
  3. Copy the entire "Skyrim Special Edition" folder to your thumb/external drive.

Preparing the Deck for Skyrim:
  1. On your Steam Deck, Install Skyrim normally. Run it at least once to make sure the prerequisites are installed..
  2. Exit to desktop. To do this, long press the power button until a menu pops up with the option to 'switch to desktop".
  3. Right click your desktop and select: "Create New>Folder". Name it "Skyrim Mods". This will be very important to save you headaches in the future.
  4. Plug in your Thumb/external drive and mount and open it when prompted.
  5. Open the "Skyrim Special Edition" folder from your thumb/external drive.
  6. Copy "SkyrimSE.exe" and "skse64_loader.exe" to the "Skyrim Mods" folder you created on your desktop.
  7. In the desktop folder, rename "SkyrimSE.exe" to "SkyrimSE_old.exe" and also rename "skse64_loader.exe" to "SkyrimSE.exe".
  8. Right click inside the folder and select: "Create New>Text File" and name it "SKSE.ini".
  9. Open "SKSE.ini" with your default text editor.
  10. type the following into the "SKSE.ini" and save.

Installing the mods and set up:
  1. Open your Skyrim directory on your deck. If you don't know where that is, open Steam from the desktop taskbar, right click Skyrim and select: "Manage>Browse Local Content".
  2. Open your thumb/external drive and copy the contents of "Skyrim Special Edition" to your decks "Skyrim Special Edition" folder. When prompted select "Write into". Wait for it to finish copying. You may now unplug the thumb/external drive.
  3. Open your "Skyrim Mods" folder from your desktop.
  4. Copy the "SkyrimSE.exe" and "SkyrimSE_old.exe" into the "Skyrim Special Edition" folder. Select "overwrite" when prompted.
  5. Inside your decks "Skyrim Special Edition" folder open "DATA" and then "SKSE"
  6. Copy your "SKSE.ini" file into the "SKSE" folder on the deck.
  7. Double click the "Return to Gaming Mode" icon on the desktop and wait for it to load up.
  8. Launch Skyrim and load the save you made on your PC. This will enable all your mods. Play for at least 30 mins and try as many menus and mods as you can. If there are no issues, yay! Enjoy!

Crashes, Broken Mods and other issues:
Problem: The game ran a validation check and now my mods aren't showing up.
Solution: This will happen from time to time. Switch to desktop mode. Open your "Skyrim Mods" folder and re-copy the SkyrimSE.exe file into the decks Skyrim folder. This is why we keep that folder around.

Problem: The game seems to missing one or more textures.
Solution: Start with a validation check (then follow previous problems solution). If that doesn't work it would appear that one or more of the mods you are using overwrite one or more of the games textures. Unfortunately you'll need to start again while skipping the uninstall of Skyrim step. This will create a much larger file transfer size but should fix the problem.

Problem: The game crashes when I open menus or while looting or some mods are broken or not showing up. All other issues.
Solution: This one is a bit of a doozy. So most likely what is happening is your mod load order is out of whack. There is a fix but it can be very time consuming depending on how many mods you have installed. With the 77 I have it took about an hour.
On your PC open "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimse\profiles" where "USERNAME" is your name you sign into your PC with. Inside that folder there should be another folder named randomly. Open that and inside will be a text file called "loadorder.txt". Open that.
On your steam deck load Skyrim and when the main menu loads select "Creations". When it loads, press the "Y" button to configure the load order. Here you will find all your installed mods.
What you are going to want to do is cross reference the load order from the "loadorder.txt" with the load order you are seeing in Creations on the deck. You can reorder the list in creations by using "LB" while highlighting the mod you want to move. For me, it was very wrong and caused a lot of problems. This will fix all that.

I've been having issues with honeygain on my desktop not earning anything even though it says it's sharing so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but that still didn't work so I started trying to use my dedicated linux box I have in my house but I keep getting this error and it disconnects?

I've been grappling with a persistent issue for the past six days, spending many hours each day trying to resolve it, but to no avail. The problem involves the Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) settings getting disabled in response to various system events. I have G602 and G13.
I plan to install an older Windows version (1909) suspecting that this could be related to some lock-out features introduced by Microsoft, although I am not certain which version introduced these features.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or do you have insights into how display rendering and communication between drivers and services in Windows operate?
Thanks for any advice or insights you might share.
Here's a detailed breakdown of the issue:
Before installing an nvidia 2070, I was using an AMD APU where the problem rarely occurred, Triger
After installing the 2070, the problem worsened and now additional triggers cause the bug.
Triger:
Symptoms: If I move the cursor during this time, it temporarily freezes and makes several jumps before returning to normal function but now without LGS settings, appearing as if LGS profile mouse is deactivated and the mouse reverts to the 'on-board memory' profile settings. Sometimes LGS stops working altogether, including my G13 keyboard, which becomes inactive.
Fix To restore proper function, I no longer need to reset the graphic drivers. Now, in most cases, simply giving focus to LGS, like switching to it using Alt+Tab to the 'customize pointer settings' tab where you adjust the mouse speed and DPI, reactivates the correct profile. However, LGS must be open on this specific tab.
The error seems to be triggered by:
  1. Severe stuttering, already present with the AMD APU, continues in applications taking control in fullscreen, such as the previously mentioned OCR tool and now also with partial screen captures using ShareX.
  2. The error is also triggered by launching or shifting focus to various programs, such as starting Discord, activating a screensaver, or occasionally while watching YouTube in fullscreen or switching to Firefox. Some applications always trigger this bug, like Discord, while others like Firefox only sometimes do.
It seems like an error occurs that temporarily halts and restarts, possibly the drivers or a service, leading to a loss of communication with LGS. Although LGS is still running without internal issues, the pathway connecting the mouse with the cursor bypasses LGS until it is refocused, seemingly restoring the control path. The Windows event log does not show any errors or warnings related to this.
What has been tested:
these things have been enabled and disabled or changed to check if they affect the error:
  1. Running as administrator
  2. HDR
  3. Display scaling in Nvidia panel
  4. Refresh rate in Nvidia panel
  5. In the video section: Telecine
  6. Video content changed to use Nvidia settings
  7. Refresh rate
  8. Precise color mode
  9. HDCP off, by modifying the registry and it is indeed disabled, as informed by the Nvidia panel
  10. Scaling disabled, scaling mode set by games and programs turned off
  11. G-sync
  12. Nvidia overlay
  13. Drivers for creators
  14. In the system, disabling the display of protected content etc. DRM, despite the introduction of these three changes below, Windows still blocks protected content e.g., blocking screenshots in KeePass. Done: bcdedit /set nx AlwaysOff
  15. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Kernel\ -DisableStackProtection
  16. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System -EnableSecureContent
  17. Uninstalling all drivers using DDU from Guru3D
  18. Installing a new system and only installing drivers and LGS
  19. Installing the oldest drivers for this card, version 456.71
Despite these adjustments, the issue, though less frequent, still persists.

But I’m making an actual last post on this subreddit, because I felt like I couldn’t leave without saying goodbye. In my experience on this subreddit you guys have been so supportive and kind, and I wanted to spread the love around.
In my dramatic speech I say that I feel connected to you, yes, you, stranger on the internet, because, in at least some way, we have a shared struggle. We might not be experiencing it in the same way, but it’s shared all the same.
I don’t have a plan of where I’m going with this; I guess I just wanted to acknowledge this communities’ contribution to getting to where I am now; excited about my future, and actually pretty happy about my life.
I’m not gonna say “it’ll get better, just keep going” because those lines never really worked on me, although if they help you, then by all means, keep going; it really does get better, I promise.
But I feel it’s not the encouragement, or the proof via personal experience that helped me, it was just simple connection.
What you’re going through right now? The urges and the pain, maybe the disappointment in yourself; the constant crying, or the not crying enough; the painful showers and hiding in the bathroom; the sweating in long sleeves and the fear of discovery; hating it and missing it at the same time?
Yeah. I know. I get it. I know I said no lines, but it’s just the simple truth that you aren’t alone in that shit, because I get it.
I’m not gonna make empty promises of it getting better, because who am I to know, right? But it got better for me, and it got better for my friends who went through the same thing. It gets better for a lot of people. A few years ago, I was completely and entirely under the impression it would never get better for me, honest. And hey, look at it now, getting all better and shit.

I don’t know if I’ll check the comments (that is, if there is any) or if I’m just going to uninstall Reddit again after this. I’ve been trying to teach myself that it’s okay to let things go, so maybe I’ll do that. Who knows. If your comment gets a reply, you’ll get your answer.
I, genuinely, wish everyone here the best. It sucks, what we’ve gone through. I think we all deserve some good shit. For little old me and my peace of heart, use mouthwash tonight. Take a cup of water to your bedside and sip on it periodically while you stay up too late on Reddit. Don’t stay up too late.
Know that doing better isn’t an unreachable thing. Know that doing better is brushing your teeth when you thought you couldn’t. Know that it’s getting dressed in a fit you feel good in. Know that the act of taking care of yourself, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, is healing.

The case of the Alienware R8's lights have been bricked for a while as the result of depending on who you ask a Window's Update or Alienware Command Center itself. There have been methods shared to totally uninstall/ reinstall the software, install 3rd party software that's a little hard to follow for people who have never coded or programmed but no solid fix of the issue that's easy to follow from Dell. In April my hopes were high after the new AWCC was introduced on Dell's website. Finally Alien FX wasn't giving the no devices detected error and the mapping actually shows the right case so the software is recognizing something. Sadly it's still not working. The lights are not coming on the sides of the case and the only time the power button comes on is for a brief moment when the power is first activated. Is it possible during all of the to do's reinstalling software and trying other methods that I removed a driver needed for operation of the case lights to be successful? I just want my lights back. Has anyone had success since the new AWCC of getting their lights back on? If you know how I can fix this finally, please help. Thank you.

Hey guys,
Like many of you, I picked up Final Fantasy XIV from a store back in 2010 (yes, this was before I had a steam account), installed the game on my laptop, and started playing. Or tried to play. I remember that the opening scenes in Ul’dah was the best part of the game. After that, it was a horrible mess of gameplay that I’m sure I don’t have to tell any of you about. The disappointment was immeasurable, and I tried to turn off the game. Except the game was so bad that I literally didn’t know how to leave the game, and I remember that I eventually had to just shut off my computer and then uninstall the game.
I tried coming back to the game a couple of weeks later, but I just couldn’t do it. Once again, I uninstalled the game. This time for good.
I moved on with my life, married my then girlfriend (now wife), and as life went on I had three kids. The oldest one turns 13 in a couple of weeks. Like, how is that even possible?
The second kid, a son, is actually named after my original FFXIV character. No, I did not tell my wife how I came up with the name.
Oh, and he’s not named “Dezenutz123”. But still.
Life went on. I’d spend the days working, being with my family, and after they had all gone to bed I might get the chance to play some FIFA, because obviously I’m a glutton for punishment and just keep jumping from one bad game to another. I enjoyed my time overall though, even going so far as to do youtube videos about the game with formation guides etc.
Lately, I’m just extremely burnt out on FIFA, and I just can’t make myself go back to the game again. I can feel the resistance in my frickin’ bones. Another week of playing a minimum of 50-60 games to get the best rewards? And by best rewards I mean the worst rewards, because in six years of playing I haven’t ever gotten a top player from the game.
I’m just done.
But I’m aware that FFXIV has changed. In fact, the company kept sending me apology emails about how poor the game was, and that they would throw the whole game under the bus and start over.
So, I’ve decided to jump back in and document my journey through Eorzea, both here on Reddit and on Youtube (not mentioning the channel to avoid self-promotion). I love lore, so I hope to combine that along with my real life work experience of doing stand-up comedy for 20 years.
I’m really looking forward to sharing my experience with FFXIV with you guys as I dive into the game as a bunny girl. I’m an archer starting out in Gridania!

2024.05.14 01:39 noway2explain Updated Homebridge then restarted, now on my UI, Homebridge is constantly checking for updates. I have a ENOENT error with a packages.json. Anyone more techy than me willing to help?

I logged into my Homebridge this afternoon to update some things. I only use Homebridge to connect my Nest thermostat and Ring devices to my iPhone devices. I updated Homebridge and then restarted, and when it came back online, the status was down with the following error message in the bottom: "ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/valib/homebridge/node_modules/homebridge/package.json'. After ChatGPT'ing myself through uninstalling and reinstalling Homebridge, my status is now running, but Homebridge is forever looking for updates and on the Homemanager app, it says that the server is down. I can still, however, control my home devices through my Home app on my iPhone. I tried deleting the Google Home plugin since I don't use it anymore and it couldn't uninstall it, saying that it failed with a code 217. It also says, "ENOEMPTY: directory not empty, rename '/valib/homebridge/node_modules/homebridge/' -> '/valib/homebridge/node_modules/.homebridge-(string I'm assuming is specific to my Homebridge so not sharing)'.
Can anyone tell me what's happening here? Can someone walk me through how to fix this? Thank you!

long story short I want to uninstall airpod drivers, but when I restart the pc they are back
I'm trying to use my airpods as a headset, but the mic and sound cant work at the same time, its one or the other. Other people have had this problem, and a recommended fix was to uninstall all of the airpods-related drivers, restart the pc, reset the airpods, and pair them again to the computer.
After I uninstall all of the drivers, the airpods are no longer listed in the bluetooth settings page. But, when I restart the PC, the option to connect to the airpods is back, and all of the drivers are also back under device manager. If I removed the airpods from the computer before I uninstall the devices, I no longer have any options to uninstall the drivers in device manager, even when I show hidden drivers.
I am just trying to get sound and my mic on my airpods to work simultaneously, so if any of you have advice on how to fix this problem or any other tips, it is much appreciated

2024.05.13 23:45 g835 Inducing overscan compensation to center the HUD.

I recently came across this video of chazm on pc with a centered HUD ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLYQLkVt-XM&t=34s ). I was confused at how this could be possible on PC, as the option to adjust for oveunderscan only exists on console, but after a bit of googling I found out that in order to do it you have to add a few lines to the file Settings_v0.ini in Documents\Overwatch\Settings\ .
Now, as the video and some reddit posts describing how to do it were created recently (within the past year) and the video was recorded after the ball rework, I thought it would be as simple as putting the lines into the config file and that would be all. After various attempts at doing that ranging from adjusting the formatting to copy-pasting to manually typing to changing other lines to see if that did anything, I came to the conclusion that my Overwatch 2 installation was not reading the file for some reason, so I deleted everything Overwatch, Blizzard, and battle.net related and reinstalled Overwatch using the battle.net client instead of Steam to see if that would fix it.
To my surprise, when installing Overwatch 2 via battle.net, launching it, and changing / applying some graphics settings, the config file simply didn't appear. I tried restarting the game multiple times, I even played a couple games of QP, but nope! the file nor the directory containing the file ever showed up.
The next step was to manually create a copy of the directory and file to see if it would even read the file when present, and it unsurprisingly did not.
I then removed everything related to OW and Blizz and installed the game via Steam again, and once again, the config file and directory were not created, and everything tried previously didn't work either.
I have done pretty much everything that I can short of DM-ing chazm or manually decrypting OW's files (which is probably against TOS and I don't think that it would be feasible anyways), so here I am asking for help to solve this issue, as I believe that I and several others would appreciate knowing how to do this as it does help massively being able to see details on your HUD more easily during gameplay without having to move your eyes as far, especially people who play in 21:9.

UPDATE : I found a solution to the problem. As usual, Windows is to blame. For some ungodly reason the Documents folder inside the OneDrive folder in your User folder is the one that contains the true config file (C:\Users\[username]\OneDrive\Documents\Overwatch\Settings) because Windows 11 preloads OneDrive and assumes you will never uninstall it so it sets the OneDrive documents folder as the default documents folder because Microsoft wants to shove their disgusting bloatware deeper down our throats then they already have.
Adding these lines :
BroadcastMarginBottom = "1.000000"
BroadcastMarginLeft = "1.000000"
BroadcastMarginRight = "1.000000"
BroadcastMarginTop = "1.000000"
to the file under [Render.13] centers the HUD and solves the problem driving me insane for the past 12 hours.
Thanks to u/Becks for reminding me that I hadn't done a full computer search yet, as I thought there was no way that any remnant of OneDrive's disgusting bloatware corpse remained on my computer.
TLDR F**K you microsoft for making this an issue in the first place.

I got overwatch multiple times already currently Ancient playing in EU (everytime you got owned in lane they will report you).
There are some overwatch that is fine for me, I can completely admit that I grief in that time. but there are times that I got overwatch just because my PA had a bad lane(Axe) got completely owned just a really bad game but I got Overwatched for it????
I just want to share my deep hatred for it. I'm not expecting anything for it to change but rather I am posting this because of how bad I am feeling right now. Dota right now for me is doing what real life is doing to me. Unjustified actions. I hate this. It's like in the job you are doing your best but you still get complained for no reason at all because of a Karen.
This is DOTA. This is how the game I love ever since Dota 1 have become. A nanny kind of a game that pleases to casuals that can't see that it is a bad lane, your tilted, your farming and they still report you.
I cannot anymore with this game. My love for this game have now dissapeared. I hate being Ancient every game someone just barks to report you everytime you die. And your typical fatso overwatchers just apply the Grief button without watching the whole context. Like really, a crusader is gonna overwatch me. 7k behavior score.
There are so many griefers out there that deserve to be ban but my bad laning = grief report 3 LP for you with a 24 hr ban? Like what? Like I'm punished as the same way my AM whofed the DR to enemy team. Died 30 times? is the same punishment as me because I had a bad lane.
So many stuff yet they still haven't figured out it's not the same? I cannot for the love play this game anymore. I wish all the people who played with me and enjoyed my time playing this game to have a better experience than me and reach immo some day.
I hate it. Not because I lost but the thing that I tried to escape reality is becoming reality. There so unfair with their reports. I don't mean to be the bad guy here I just want to share what I'm feeling to day.
I don't want to quit it but I don't think I can handle it anymore. Life as an young adult is hard. Dealing with your co workers is hard enough. dealing with uncertainties is hard. Therapy aint helping.
P.S I was writing this while I was waiting for a match for SM and ultimately decided to just uninstall it. My mind could change but at the moment I just don't want to anymore. I will surely miss the people I had fun with during my climb to Ancient. or Maybe if I go back to SEA.
I am very thankful for the opportunity. Maybe I should finish therapy or something before I go back or maybe just maybe find something more meaningful in my life. Hoping to someday go back.

I've bene trying to troubleshoot BSOD errors for a friend and I've been trying to isolate the issue from the minidump files using WinDbg. The motherboard had already been replaced through warranty due to similar networking issues, however the NETIO BSOD has returned.
Previously to the new motherboard I had done numerous things including a Reset then USB reinstall of Windows.
Troubleshooting thus far post-new motherboard:
SFC /Scannow
System Restore
As indicated by Research- uninstalled AVG VPN, Auto Driver Updater
Programs in use:
AVG, Zone Alarm
As it has returned it would seem to indicate that a security program is at fault or, perhaps, there is some 'toe stepping' on memory access. Most recent research as also indicated a uninstall reinstall of NIC drivers. I don't often go Dmp diving. I hope someone with more experience in this area can assist in locating the culprit for the NETIO. I hope its something glaring that I'm just missing. If possible could the reading for the solution be explained so I have a better idea of how to procced in the future in these instances. Thank you for your time and efforts.
