Colonizers both Western & Eastern, are insufferably insecure about themselves and their history, despite their incredible arrogance. Both sides suffer from identity crises and fragile egos.
Stealing, committing genocide, and land thef, abductions of indigenous people do not make you better nor create a true attachment to the land or people .Why do indigenous people care more about the land and ancient sites than the colonizers? This is the question we must ask. Colonizers feel the need to steal history because they lack a legacy of their own. They try to erase our history, but we have a legacy that does not require theft. We need to survive, and we will. Destroying ancient sites is their final step in cultural erasure, but even then, the land will not be fruitful for them. They are not from the land, they do not appreciate the land, and the land is not theirs. The fundamental problem with colonizers is their demand for assimilation, driven by the belief that they are superior. This is a completely ridiculous sentiment when you are colonizing. Forcing assimilation disregards and disrespects the rich cultures, histories, and identities of indigenous populations. It is a tactic rooted in arrogance and insecurity, aiming to erase the very essence of the people whose land they have taken. This belief in superiority and the subsequent demand for assimilation only further highlights the moral and ethical bankruptcy of colonialism.
Reclaiming Our Assyrian Heritage: Standing Against Historical Erasure and Colonialist Narratives
As an Assyrian-American, I am deeply connected to my heritage and the rich history of my people. Despite the ongoing efforts by Western colonialists, Arabs, Kurds, Turks, and Iranians to undermine and deny our existence, I stand firm in my identity. Our roots run deep, and our history is undeniable.
Our Genetic Legacy Recent genetic tests, such as the Eurogenes K13 and MDLP K23b, confirm what we have always known: our ancestry is unique and distinct. Here are my results, which highlight the rich tapestry of our genetic makeup:
Eurogenes K13 Admixture Proportions:
  • North_Atlantic: 2.53%
  • Baltic: 1.68%
  • West_Med: 12.62%
  • West_Asian: 33.21%
  • East_Med: 38.60%
  • Red_Sea: 8.40%
  • South_Asian: 1.51%
  • East_Asian: -
  • Siberian: 0.06%
  • Amerindian: 0.70%
  • Oceanian: 0.38%
  • Northeast_African: 0.31%
  • Sub-Saharan: -
MDLP K23b Admixture Proportions:
breakdown of Components:
  1. Amerindian (0.16%): A small percentage that indicates a very minor genetic connection to Native American populations.
  2. Ancestral_Altaic (1.90%): This component is associated with ancient populations from Central and East Asia, often linked to the Altaic language group and related ethnic groups.
  3. South_Central_Asian (18.15%): This represents genetic ancestry from the South-Central Asian region, encompassing areas like Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. It reflects ancient migrations and interactions in this region.
  4. Caucasian (44.73%): This is the largest component in your ancestry and is associated with populations from the Caucasus region, which includes parts of modern-day Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. It indicates strong genetic ties to this area, which is historically linked to the Assyrian population.
  5. East_Siberian (0.52%): A small component indicating minor genetic contributions from East Siberian populations.
  6. European_Early_Farmers (10.94%): This component is linked to the early Neolithic farmers who migrated into Europe from the Near East. It reflects the agricultural revolution and the spread of farming communities.
  7. Khoisan (0.75%): A minor component related to the Khoisan people of southern Africa, representing ancient human genetic diversity.
  8. Near_East (16.91%): This significant component represents ancestry from the Near East, including ancient Mesopotamian civilizations. It reflects the long history of human settlement and cultural development in this region.
  9. North_African (4.04%): This component indicates genetic ancestry from North African populations, which can include historical connections through trade and migration.
  10. Paleo_Siberian (0.27%): A very small component related to ancient Siberian populations.
  11. African_Pygmy (0.71%): Another minor component, representing ancient genetic contributions from the African Pygmy populations.
  12. South_East_Asian (0.30%): A very small percentage indicating minor genetic contributions from Southeast Asian populations.
  13. European_Hunters_Gatherers (0.62%): This component is linked to the ancient hunter-gatherer populations of Europe, prior to the advent of farming.
    Pie Chart Representation:
  • Caucasian (44.73%): Shown as the largest segment, indicating strong genetic ties to the Caucasus region.
  • South_Central_Asian (18.15%): A significant portion, reflecting ancient migrations and genetic contributions from South-Central Asia.
  • Near_East (16.91%): Another major segment, highlighting the historical connection to the Near East.
  • European_Early_Farmers (10.94%): Represents the influence of early agriculturalists from the Near East.
  • North_African (4.04%): A smaller yet notable component from North Africa.
  • Ancestral_Altaic (1.90%)**: Reflects ancient connections to Central and East Asia.
  • Other Minor Components: Include East_Siberian, Amerindian, Khoisan, Paleo_Siberian, African_Pygmy, South_East_Asian, and European_Hunters_Gatherers, each contributing less than 1%.

mInterpretation for Modern Assyrians:

  1. Caucasian and Near_East Components: The dominant components, indicating a strong genetic heritage connected to the Caucasus and Near East regions. This aligns with the historical presence of Assyrians in these areas.
  2. South_Central_Asian: A significant portion that suggests ancient migrations and interactions with populations in South-Central Asia.
  3. European_Early_Farmers: Reflects the influence of early farming populations migrating from the Near East into Europe.
  4. North_African and Minor Components: Indicate additional genetic diversity, showing historical interactions with North African, Siberian, and other ancient populations.
Conclusion:
The MDLP K23b results provide a comprehensive view of your genetic ancestry, highlighting the significant contributions from the Caucasus, Near East, and South-Central Asia. These components reflect the complex and ancient history of the Assyrian people, demonstrating their deep roots in the region and interactions with various populations over millennia.
Historical and Cultural Significance Our history is rich with achievements and contributions that have shaped the world. From the ancient cities of Nineveh and Ashur to our influence on early writing systems, law, and architecture, the Assyrian legacy is profound. We have faced persecution and attempts at erasure, yet we continue to thrive and preserve our culture.
Confronting False Narratives It is disheartening to see attempts by Arabs, Kurds, Turks, and Iranians to delegitimize our existence. These narratives often stem from insecurity about their own ancestries and the lands they occupy. They attempt to rewrite history, but the truth is steadfast. We are not a creation of colonial powers; our history predates these narratives by millennia.
Standing Firm in Our Identity I know who I am. My genetic heritage, historical knowledge, and cultural pride affirm my identity as an Assyrian. The attempts to silence or erase us only strengthen my resolve. Those who seek to kill or suppress us reveal their own fears and insecurities. They are threatened by our truth because it undermines their fabricated histories.
A Call to Unity To my fellow Assyrians and supporters of truth and justice: let us stand united against these false narratives. Let us continue to celebrate our heritage, educate others, and preserve our history. Our existence is a testament to our resilience and strength.
In conclusion, we are not the products of colonial manipulation. Our identity is deeply rooted in history, culture, and genetics. We are Assyrians, and we will continue to assert our rightful place in the world, standing firm against those who seek to erase us.

2024.05.19 00:39 GalacticDiscourse090 [EVENT] Restoring Free Movement

The Renewalist Regime implemented a series of draconian immigration and border policies that stifled the free movement of goods and people. Of course, with the intention to keep everybody locked inside and forbid them from escaping such a nightmarish regime in favor of better developed regions like Minnesota and Aetiopia, Visas were withheld across the board as the border remained closed for outside visitors as the regime looked inwards. Foreigners were shunned as the Southerner's mistrust of the outside world projected a sense of threat to our neighbors. Citizenship laws were also changed where passports were confiscated and individuals became stateless as part of the Labor Camp program implemented by the GBIS to fit production quotas.
No more, The Georgia Internal Security Act and her subsidiary laws in all other Southern states are hereby abolished with Federal-era regulations and laws on immigration, naturalization and citizenship restored. The Magnolians in the local governments even went farther than the Federal government itself would go with naturalization.
[Naturalization Laws changed from 11+ years to 1-3 years]
[Visa Policy changed from Closed System to Visa on Arrival]
[Emmigration Policy changed from No Emmigration to Relaxed Government Permission]
[Prison System changed from Labor Camp to Correctional Facilities]

2024.05.18 17:50 DutyTop8086 How does khat consumption affect the overall economy of Yemen, especially in the context of civil war and poverty?

Lets shed some light on a pressing issue that deeply affects our beloved Yemeni people. The insidious impact of khat consumption on our economy. This crisis, is fueled by the insidious leafy plant known as khat and has dismantled lives, torn apart families, and turned our beloved Yemen into a nation gripped by addiction.
It has created significant toll on families and there finances . Khat's grip on Yemen is like a vice, squeezing the life out of our people. What was once an occasional indulgence has now become a near-daily ritual for a staggering portion of our population. Imagineā€”up to 90% of Yemeni adults, including children as young as 12, are caught in its clutches. This addiction has ravaged our families, our finances, and our future.
Financially, khat is a relentless parasite. Families spend more on their khat habit than on basic necessities, leading to bankruptcy and financial ruin. In a country where 85% of the population needs aid and the average annual income is less than $2,200, the cost of khat is devastating. Entire families are plunged into poverty, their finances drained to support this destructive addiction.
Destroyed lives and lost smiles. The social impact of khat is a tragedy unfolding before our eyes. Families that once thrived are now in tatters. Parents neglect their responsibilities, children grow up in chaos, and the very fabric of our society is unraveling. Picture the sceneā€”men, women, and even children with bulging cheeks and glassy eyes, lost in hours-long khat sessions. It is a haunting sight, a silent scream for help.
The loss of productivity is another casualty in this war. Khat chewing sessions last for hours, stealing time from work and other productive activities. Our economy, already crippled by years of civil war, suffers further as the stimulant effect of khat gives way to lethargy, leaving users incapable of contributing to their communities.
But the devastation doesnā€™t stop there. Khat is not just a social and economic disaster; it is a public health crisis. The communal nature of khat chewing, with people sharing bags and bundles of leaves, has turned it into a vector for disease. COVID-19 highlighted this risk, with crowded markets and shared consumption spreading the virus like wildfire.
The long-term health effects of khat are severe. Chronic use leads to dental problems, gastrointestinal issues, and cardiovascular diseases. And yes, there have been khat-related deaths, as its amphetamine-like properties wreak havoc on the body, especially when consumed in large quantities.
Where there is desperation there is crime. Desperation drives some Yemenis to crime. Theft, smuggling, and even violent acts have increased as addicts seek ways to fund their consumption. Khatā€™s influence extends even to the battlefields, where combatants pause fighting to chew, a stark reminder of its pervasive hold on our country.
Is there a solution? We first we must address this crisis with a multifaceted approach. Education and awareness campaigns are critical to changing public perception and reducing demand. We must illuminate the health risks and economic consequences to dissuade new users.
Economic alternatives are essential. We must provide farmers with incentives to grow other crops, reducing agricultural dependence on khat. Supporting small businesses and creating job opportunities can offer viable alternatives to those currently engaged in the khat trade.
We must tackle this crisis with a comprehensive approach:
Economic Diversification:
Alternative Crops: We need to encourage the cultivation of alternative crops by providing financial incentives and support to farmers. This shift will help alleviate food insecurity and stimulate other sectors of our economy.
Sustainable Practices: Promoting sustainable agricultural practices can ensure long-term food security and economic stability.
Public Awareness Campaigns:
Education Programs: We must educate our population about the financial, health, and social consequences of khat consumption. School programs, community workshops, and media campaigns can play a crucial role in changing public perception.
Cultural Change: Working with local leaders and influencers to shift cultural norms around khat use can help reduce its prevalence.
Health Interventions:
Medical Services: Increasing access to medical services to treat the health consequences of khat use.
Health Education: Implementing health education programs to inform the public about the risks associated with khat consumption.
Law Enforcement and Regulation:
Regulation of Khat Trade: Implementing stricter regulations on the production, sale, and consumption of khat to curb its widespread use.
Support for Law Enforcement: Providing resources and training to law enforcement agencies to effectively tackle khat-related crimes.
Economic and Social Support:
Job Creation: Creating job opportunities and supporting small businesses can offer viable alternatives to those currently engaged in the khat trade.
Social Services: Expanding social services to support families affected by khat addiction, ensuring they have access to food, education, and healthcare.
It is painfully clear that khat addiction is not just a personal issue it is a crisis that is tearing apart the very fabric of our nation. This insidious plant is robbing us of our potential, our health, and our future. But we, the new generation, are able to change this narrative.

2024.05.18 17:13 Rainyfriedtofu Nasdaq's rules and Clov Delisting: beating a dead horse deader

Hello Fellow Apes,
I just want to take a quick moment to revisit the Nasdaq's rules and how it would pertain to Clover Healthcare's delisting procedure. I want to do this for two reasons: 1) I want to get ahead of the short sellers' FUD thesis, and 2) I want to revisit the post I made a month ago called "Nasdaq's rules and procedures pertaining to Clover Health." https://www.reddit.com/Healthcare_Anon/comments/1bx2eeg/nasdaqs_rules_and_procedures_pertaining_to_clove
Currently, retail short sellers do not have a basis to spread FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) about Clover Health (CLOV). Additionally, my recent post has highlighted the coordinated efforts to short the stock and brought attention to the fact that a group of us has been reporting activities on the Clover Health subreddit to the SEC and Clover's Investor Relations.
https://www.reddit.com/Healthcare_Anon/comments/1ctvrx7/clov_as_a_meme_clovs_reddit_and_andrews_recent/
In short, our filings with these entities revealed a high correlation (R = 0.97 with a P-value of 0.001) between the "dog whistle" share price and the actual share price of the stock after running statistical tests. Our dataset covered several months. An R value of 0.97 in a correlation test indicates a very strong positive linear relationship between the two variables.
Additionally, contrasting this with the recent meme stock frenzy fueled by figures like Roaring Kitty and Ryan Cohen, hundreds of thousands of people have lost substantial amounts of money due to the activities of retail short sellers. Unlike institutional traders, there are currently no sufficient laws or enforcement mechanisms to regulate these retail short sellers. This lack of oversight prompted us to start documenting and collecting data on Clover Health (CLOV). Our goal is to contribute to the end to such predatory market manipulation behaviors. Companies such as AMC and GME are doomed to fail. However, the case with Clov is different because the company is profitable, sustainable, and gearing up to expand and address the changes to healthcare.
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/05/17/gamestop-shares-fall-after-it-files-to-sell-securities-says-first-quarter-sales-declined.html
I know what you guys are thinking, "Why are you bringing this up again?" Do you guys remember one of the procedures for Nasdaq's delisting that I wrote a month ago?
"When a company listed on the Nasdaq stock market receives a notice of noncompliance, it means that the company has failed to meet one or more of the Nasdaq's listing requirements. The timeline for potential delisting following a noncompliance notice varies depending on the specific rule that has been violated. Generally, companies are given a compliance period during which they can regain compliance with the Nasdaq's listing standards. This period can range from 30 days to 180 days, or sometimes even longer, especially if the company decides to appeal against the delisting decision or if the noncompliance is related to financial or reporting issues which have specific cure periods.
After the compliance period ends, if the company has not regained compliance or has not made satisfactory progress towards compliance, as determined by the Nasdaq, the exchange may issue a delisting notice. The company can appeal this decision, which may further extend the process. Currently, Clov has several good reasons and evidence to further extend the process. However, I cannot speak on this because of two reasons:
  1. It's uncertain whether Clover Health's Investor Relations (IR) team will instruct their legal team to formally present their reasons for noncompliance to Nasdaq. They have legitimate reasons, including being targeted by retail short sellers, but I'll not delve into those details in this post.
  2. Considering Clover Health's financial situation, as evidenced by their 10-K reports and their operational runway, it's possible they may not need to utilize the full 180-day grace period before appealing Nasdaq's notice. Moocao plans to conduct a detailed analysis (DD) of their financial statements, which suggest the company is in a strong position. The launch of their Software as a Service (SaaS) platform and the anticipation of approximately $100 million in revenue could potentially disrupt the strategies of retail short sellers, possibly leading to their financial downturn. However, the outcome of the first quarter's earnings report (Q1 ER) remains to be seen, presenting Clover Health with two potential paths forward. I'm only speculating SaaS contracts because why would you hire SaaS staff, request to generate more shares to pay those staff, and not have work or activities for them to do right now? This is a lot of money to spend on something that have no contracts. Therefore, I speculate they will announce their SaaS the same way that they announced their home care last year."
Looking at the current situation, Clover Health has ample time to comply with Nasdaq's regulations for several key reasons--almost unlimited:
  1. Strong Financial Health: The company is performing exceptionally well and is far from facing bankruptcy. Despite this, short sellers have excessively shorted the stock, pushing it to levels suggesting financial distress, and they have coordinated efforts to sway public sentiment negatively. https://www.reddit.com/Healthcare_Anon/comments/1cp786f/clover_q1_2024_earnings_analysis_earnings_call10q/
  2. Proactive Measures: Clover Health is actively working to enhance shareholder value, including implementing a share buyback program.
  3. Prepared for Appeals: We have already prepared the necessary reports for Clover Health to file an appeal with Nasdaq, should it fail to meet compliance standards within 180 days. However, given the company's current trajectory, it's unlikely that an appeal will be necessary as we anticipate Clover Health will regain compliance soon.
It's important to note that the likelihood of Clover Health facing delisting or needing to perform a reverse stock split is minimal. In a somewhat ironic twist, we owe a debt of gratitude to the retail short sellers. Their consistent manipulation of the stock has inadvertently provided crucial evidence. If they hadn't driven the stock price below bankruptcy levels and engaged in aggressive trading strategies against market-making algorithms, we might not have identified key areas to focus on. As the saying goes, sometimes not getting what you want can indeed be a blessing.
I'll provide a more detailed write-up later, but for now, I wanted to reassure you that the potential for Clover Health's delisting or reverse stock split is very low. The delisting and reverse stock split are the only kind of theses I anticipate the brigades can make. Otherwise, the only thing that they have are memes.

2024.05.18 16:18 Revolutionary-Cod-93 Help please! I need help with my drivers license situation. Info below

So I am in a weird situation and I need advice. I lived in Minnesota before moving to New Mexico for 5 months, and before moving my drivers license expired. Now, I am going to be moving to Kansas for the summer and then Iā€™ll be back to Minnesota. My question is what would be the smartest thing for me to do in this situation? Should I renew my drivers license in New Mexico so that I can get a job in Kansas, or should I drive to Minnesota to renew it since Iā€™ll be living there after the summer. Please help me because I donā€™t know the laws on having an out of state drivers license and working. Fortunately at my current job they never checked to see if my license was expired. Thank you.

2024.05.18 15:15 como365 Republican infighting marked 2024 legislative session

JEFFERSON CITY ā€” The 2024 legislative session that ended Friday seemed more a referendum on Republican Party loyalty than a collective venture toward policy.
Constant infighting among Republicans over priorities and which ones were truly conservative led to days-long filibusters, name calling and the death of many conservative bills, including a top party priority: making it more difficult to amend the Missouri Constitution.
The divisions were so ingrained that the Senate Democrats, holding 10 seats in a 34-person body, delivered the deciding votes on some of the session's most important bills.
The hard-right Freedom Caucus has said their issue with mainstream Republican leaders in the legislature is a lack of dedication to ā€œbig redā€ policies like reducing personal property tax and preventing foreign countries from owning Missouri land.
Looking back at previous sessions, that argument doesnā€™t quite stack up. In the last several years Republicans have passed one of the nation's most strict abortion bans, limitations on transgender health care and enacted several income tax cuts.
The Freedom Caucus went to great lengths to disrupt Senate procedure and strong-arm leadership in an effort to pass their highest priority, changes to the initiative petition process. The impact was that they were tossed off Senate committees by the Republican leadership and later in the session failed to convince their Republican colleagues to embrace their priorities.
Less than two weeks before the constitutional deadline for the budget and with an important federal health care reimbursement that creates over $4 billion in revenue, Freedom Caucus members filibustered for 41 hours with the demand that leadership first bring up a resolution changing the approval threshold for state constitutional amendments.
Going into the last week of session, initiative petition reform still had not passed.
This week, the Freedom Caucus supported a motion among Republicans to end the Democratic filibuster on the issue through an extraordinary motion ā€” the previous question ā€” that hasnā€™t been used in the Senate since 2020. But only 16 Republicans would support that plan, which needed 18 votes, so it was never brought before the floor.
With that failure on Wednesday, the resolution was sent back to the House, which refused to budge on Thursday and sent it back to the Senate. On Friday the Senate adjourned without any further action and the effort died.
The failure to pass the resolution making initiative petition changes showed the inability of even a supermajority to act when splintered on such chaotic, disruptive lines.
Senate President Pro Tem. Caleb Rowden, R-Columbia, said that this session showed that more can get done through compromise than confrontation.
"I'm walking out of here as a guy that has basically accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish and I did it in a way that was respectful and collegial," Rowden said in a press conference after adjournment.
Senate Minority Leader John Rizzo, R-Independence, backed up that point saying, "I don't think Democrats won or Republicans lost (the session), I think decorum won."
Fiscal Year 2025 budget
A set of constitutionally mandated bills that fund the state's operations passed just three hours before the May 10 deadline. The final budget is $51.7 billion, $1 billion less than what the governor proposed, and about $2 billion less than last year's budget.
Three things stuck out in this year's budget: Infrastructure continued to be a major focus, spending was reduced to come in line with revenue projects and numerous members on both sides of the aisle were frustrated by the lack of transparency in the process.
Over the last two years, about $3.5 billion has been put into widening I-70 to six lanes statewide and I-44 in the southwestern part of the state. Both projects are about equally funded through debt and general revenue. The budget that was approved is expected to reduce the state surplus to about $1.5 billion.
Up-to-date numbers from the Office of Administration show a more rosy revenue picture than anticipated. So far Fiscal Year 2024 revenue receipts are up 2.7% year over year. That's far higher than the projected .2% growth in revenue used to craft the budget. If that revenue continues at the same pace and with a current general fund balance of over $4 billion there is a chance the state's surplus will hardly be tapped over the next year.
The declining budget also represents a return to normal state budgeting. Since the pandemic, states have received an unprecedented influx of federal COVID relief and infrastructure cash. That has led to record high appropriations that oftentimes don't get spent. In the FY 2023 budget, $10 billion of the $48 billion appropriated was never used. In 2018, only $2 billion of the $28 billion budget was left unspent.
No public comment was taken during the budget process and meetings between the House and Senate where the final budget package was finalized only existed behind closed doors. Senators only had a few minutes to review the bills before voting on them and House members had little time to debate as they passed the budget just hours before the constitutional deadline.
This backdoor process drew criticism from Democrats, Freedom Caucus members and the governor as many felt out of the loop.
Elections and initiative changes Fighting over changes that would make it harder to amend the Missouri Constitution again put the brakes on normal operating procedures on the Senate floor this session.
The Freedom Caucus has more than once sent the Senate into disarray over a piece of legislation that again failed to cross the finish line after years of attempts.
The legislation, sponsored by Sen. Mary Elizabeth Coleman, R-Arnold, would have asked voters whether the current threshold to amend the state constitution ā€” a simple majority, or 50% plus one ā€” should be raised to also require a majority vote in at least five of the stateā€™s eight congressional districts.
This yearā€™s proposal included two provisions that led the chamber to several lengthy filibusters totaling more than 100 hours. In addition to the threshold requirement, the provisions would ask voters to bar noncitizens from voting on constitutional amendments and to ban constitutional amendments sponsored by foreign governments.
These provisions are already state law and Democrats made a point of filibustering against those provisions.
Republicans this session also pushed a resolution that would ban ranked-choice voting in Missouri. SJR 78 was passed by the House on Friday. The question will now go to voters to decide.
Ranked-choice voting is a practice where voters rank their preferred candidates on a single ballot until a winner is declared after receiving a majority of the vote. The idea is to give voters more options once their top-ranked choice is eliminated by distributing their vote to their next preferred candidates. Opponents said the practice does the exact opposite by splitting the vote.
While it is not in state law, St. Louis practices a version of ranked-choice voting that will be protected if the ban passes.
Education bill An omnibus education bill, SB 727, raising the minimum teacher salary, allowing charter schools in Boone County and providing private school scholarships to low-income students, has already been signed into law by Gov. Mike Parson. The provisions of the bill, approved by the minimum vote required in the House, are estimated to cost the state $468 million.
The new state minimum salary for teachers is set at $40,000 a year beginning with the next school year and includes additional incentives for teachers with longer careers and those with masterā€™s degrees.
The voucher-like scholarship program for private school students offers up to $6,375 per child for expenses such as tuition, textbooks and transportation. The program is funded by private donors who can claim tax credits.
The size of the bill ballooned from 12 pages to more than 150 because of amendments in the Senate. House leaders blocked amendments so that the bill would not have to be returned for another vote in the Senate out of concern it would die because of filibusters on other topics.
The law requires a public vote to approve any switch to four-day school weeks while providing incentives to schools that stick with five-day weeks.
New crime provisions A major public safety bill that passed during the final House session on Friday made changes to how children are viewed in the court system, increased punishment for various crimes and limited the authority of citizen police review boards, among other items.
The bill tracks legislation passed last year, except for two technical provisions that prompted a veto by Parson. The law increases the age under which children could be considered adults in felony offenses from 12 to 14.
On July 4, 2011, Blair Shanahan Lane was killed by reckless celebratory gunfire. A portion of the bill dubbed "Blair's Law" creates penalties for such activity. After the bill passed on a bipartisan basis Friday, House members rose for a round of applause directed at Blair Lane's mother, who was in attendance.
The bill also creates "Valentine's Law" raising punishments for fleeing a law enforcement stop. It is named for St. Louis County Detective Antonio Valentine, who died in a crash pursuing a person fleeing police.
And there is a provision known as "Max's Law" that increases punishment for injuring or killing law enforcement K-9 dogs.
Sludge regulations House Bill 2134, which would create new regulations for wastewater sludge under the Missouri Clean Water Act, gained bipartisan approval and was signed by Parson.
The bill gained traction as concerns about waste lagoons and land application practices by Arkansas-based Denali Water Solutions have been brought to light. The new law prevents companies like Denali from applying waste as fertilizer without a regulatory process and testing.
Denali was previously forced to cease operations in Missouri after 6,000 gallons of slaughterhouse waste spilled into a field, causing residents to complain about the smell and runoff concerns.
Regulatory Sandbox Act The House Friday gave final approval to SB 894 creating an avenue for new companies offering innovative products to be excused from meeting some state regulations for the first 24 months that they begin offering innovative products to consumers.
Companies would be required to apply and meet certain criteria to participate in the program.
The bill also creates an Office of Entrepreneurship within the Department of Economic Development that will promote policies and initiatives to support the growth of entrepreneurship of Missouri-based businesses with less than ten employees.
Eviction moratorium A bill passed on Friday barred any municipality from enacting an eviction moratorium. The bill, SB 865, comes in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic when cities across the country prevented landlords from evicting tenets. Realtors and apartment associations spoke in favor of the bill as they feel moratoriums violate the rights of property owners.
National Guard deployment Parson signed a bill on May 8 approving additional funding for a Missouri National Guard deployment to the southern border. The governor traveled to Eagle Pass, Texas, to sign House Bill 2016 into law and visit with members who have been deployed since March.
ā€œThe battle that weā€™re fighting down here at the border is keeping it from happening in our own borders, in our own state in Missouri,ā€ Parson said before signing the bill.
Members of the National Guard are assisting with Operation Lone Star after being invited by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. Operation Lone Star is a state-level border security effort at the Texas-Mexico border that began in 2021.
The $2.2 million in funding supports the operations of approximately 200 National Guard members and 22 Missouri State Highway Patrol officers for 90 days. Since the start of their mission, only around 50 guardsmen and 22 members of the highway patrol have served in Texas.
Sports wagering moves ahead After years of failed attempts to get legalization through the Missouri General Assembly, sports gambling appears to have found a more promising path.
Early in May, the Winning for Missouri Education committee along with a coaltion of Missouri professional sports teams submitted over 340,000 signatures for a ballot initiative to the Secretary of State's office desk.
If the Secretary of State verifies that enough signatures are genuine, the question would be put to voters in November. Thirty-eight other states have legalized some form of sports wagering.
The petition proposes a 10% tax on wagers to be collected by the Department of Revenue, deposited into the state treasury and credit to the "Gaming Proceeds for Education Fund," raising a projected $35 million.
Approximately $5 million in funds from the sports wagering tax would go into a fund to help compulsive gamblers and the rest would go to public school and higher education programs.
Child tax credits Bipartisan support and a State of the State address plug by Parson helped two bills, SB 742 and HB 1488, which would add provisions allowing for tax credits related to child care services to reach the Senate floor for consideration.
However, opposition from Freedom Caucus members of the Senate stalled action both in an effort to advance bills they felt deserved more priority and out of a general dislike of tax credits. The Senate version is sponsored by Sen. Lauren Arthur, D-Kansas City, while the House bill is sponsored by Rep. Brenda Shields, R-St. Joseph.
Protecting IVF House and Senate bills to protect in vitro fertilization clinics got a flurry of attention but did not advance following an Alabama state court ruling that relied on a state abortion ban to restrict in vitro fertilization clinics.
The Missouri Court of Appeals in St. Louis ruled in 2016 that IVF-created embryos were a matter of ā€œmarital property of special order.ā€ This has provided legal protection for doctors and patients in the IVF field.
However, that court ruling cited abortion protection offered by Roe Vs. Wade, which was overturned in 2022. With Missouri having a similar abortion ban to the one in Alabama, leading advocates and lawmakers alike are concerned about what could lie ahead.
Sen. Tracy McCreery, D-Olivette, filed SB 1486 which would specify that Missouri's abortion ban does not have a definition that includes in vitro fertilization embryos that have not been implanted in a body. Rep. Bill Allen, R-Kansas City, filed House Bill 2845 which states that the IVF process is protected under law and no one can be prosecuted for undergoing or administrating IVF.
Here is what happened to other legislative topics that garnered attention during the session but did not pass:
Protections for pesticide maker: HB 2763, sponsored by Rep. Dane Diehl, R-Butler, would have protected pesticide manufacturers from claims that they failed to warn consumers of possible cancer risks in their products as long as the federal Environmental Protection Agency has approved those products.
Much of the debate before the House approved the bill focused on Bayer, the company with U.S. headquarters in St. Louis that purchased Monsanto, the original manufacturer of RoundUp pesticide. According to The Associated Press, the company is seeking to stem a tide of lawsuits claiming that Bayerā€™s products cause cancer.
Diehl, a farmer, said he drafted the legislation out of fear that Bayer would be forced to pull RoundUp off of the market, harming farmers ability to grow crops. The bill never made it to the Senate floor for consideration.
Presidential primaries: New voting laws passed in 2022 eliminated the presidential primary in Missouri. Following low voter turnout in this yearā€™s Republican presidential caucus, SB 1120 and HB 2618, which would reinstate presidential primaries, passed out of their respective committees. The House bill passed with amendments that would create new residency restrictions for candidates vying for U.S. Congress. Ultimately, neither bill got floor consideration.
The Taylor Swift Act: Bills in both the House and Senate sought to address the impact of problematic images created by artificial intelligence but did not make it into law. While ten states provide some form of retribution for this type of crime, only Minnesota and New York statutes allow for both civil and criminal relief.
The Taylor Swift Act, House Bill 2573, offered by Rep. Adam Schwadron, R-St. Charles, targeted fake pornographic images. The bill was approved by the Special Committee on Innovation and Technology but never received a floor vote. The name of the bill referred to explicit AI-created images of the singer that went viral in January.
A similar bill, Senate Bill 1424, sponsored by Sen. Travis Fitzwater, R-Holts Summit, did not get a hearing.
Media Literacy: Companion bills, House Bill 1513 and Senate Bill 1311, aimed to teach students about media and digital literacy. Neither bill advanced.
Danny's Law: Legislation that sought to protect 911 callers from prosecution when calling to report a hazing incident stalled in the House. The bill was named after former University of Missouri student Danny Santulli, who suffered irreparable brain damage after drinking too much when pledging a fraternity at MU in the fall of 2021.
Dannyā€™s Law was meant to offer exoneration to those involved in hazing incidents if theyā€™re the first to call for emergency help.
ā€œAs the mother of three college-age men, I understand this is a major issue,ā€ said Rep. Jo Doll, D-St. Louis, who spoke during a March 7 committee hearing. ā€œItā€™s really important to give kids the ability to call 911 without being afraid of the consequences to them.ā€
Protecting major water users: House Bill 2669, which sought to limit information being released to the public about major water users, was approved by a House committee but failed to get a floor vote. The bill was meant to protect the information of Missouriā€™s family farmers and would keep information about individually identifiable water users from being disclosed to the public.
Highway Commission changes: A bill, House Bill 2568, that would have changed the makeup of the Missouri Highways & Transportation Commission was voted down in a committee in Apri. Two other bills that would have either changed the makeup of the commission or done away with it altogether failed to move forward after being the subject of public hearings in early February.
Nursing restrictions: Missouri is one of only a few states not to allow nurse practitioners to practice independently without the authority of a physician. A House committee passed an amended version of one bill, HB 1773, sponsored by Rep. Chad Perkins, R-Bowling Green, that would allow nurses to practice independently after 6,000 hours of work under a physician's supervision. The bill was never placed on the House calendar, a roadblock which some nurses point to opposition from House Floor Leader Rep. Jonathan Patterson, R-Leeā€™s Summit.
Dmitry Martirosov, Molly Miller, Aidan Pittman, Grant Green and Madeline Shannon contributed to this story.
Cover image: State Representative Chantelle Nickson-Clark(cq) throws her papers at the end of the legislative session on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the Statehouse in Jefferson City. Nickson-Clark was the first Black woman elected to represent District 67 in St. Louis County in Nov. 2022.

2024.05.18 14:48 lemon_lime_light Lawsuit challenges race quotas on Minnesota Board of Social Work

From the Pacific Legal Foundation, a public interest law firm:
Today, Pacific Legal Foundation (PLF) filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of the American Alliance for Equal Rights (AAER) challenging race-based appointments on Minnesotaā€™s Board of Social Work.
Government regulatory boards are commonplace for countless professions throughout the country. Minnesota social workers fall under the purview of the Minnesota Board of Social Work, which has 15 membersā€”ten social workers and five members of the public.
Another requirement of board membership, however, has nothing to do with social work and everything to do with racial balancing: At least five members must also be racial minorities.
The American Alliance for Equal Rights has at least two members who would like to be considered for the board. However, they arenā€™t from Minnesotaā€™s preferred race and, as such, are at a significant disadvantage for any of the openings.
ā€œMinnesota cannot use race to disqualify or disfavor individuals from public service. Race quotas are unjust, demeaning, and unconstitutional under the Fourteenth Amendment,ā€ said Brandon Beyer, attorney at Pacific Legal Foundation. ā€œPeople should be treated as individuals, not as members of a group they did not choose"...
The case is American Alliance for Equal Rights v. Tim Walz, filed in the U.S. for the District Court of Minnesota.

Just thought I would share this:
Evolve Bank & Trust Responds to Synapse Bankruptcy Hearing
Evolve Bank & Trust supports todayā€™s (Friday, May 17, 2024) United States Bankruptcy court rulings regarding our motion and maintains unwavering dedication to safeguarding the security of all end user funds. Since the unfortunate necessity of freezing certain transactions, our teams have been tirelessly working to guarantee account accuracy, enhancing security measures, and ultimately restoring access to funds for our valued customers.
Todayā€™s rulings and Judge Martin R. Barashā€™s remarks serve to validate what we have steadfastly asserted all along: Synapseā€™s abrupt shutdown of essential systems without notice and failure to provide necessary records needlessly jeopardized end users by hindering our ability to verify transactions, confirm end user balances, and comply with applicable law. Evolveā€™s position is further corroborated by the U.S. Trusteeā€™s emergency filing, which warns of Synapseā€™s ā€œgross mismanagementā€ in deciding to cut off access to its computer systems over a weekend.
As a robustly well-capitalized FDIC institution exceeding the capital thresholds for the highest category of capitalization under PCA (ā€œwell capitalizedā€), our primary focus is on ensuring the protection of end user funds. This becomes paramount when essential reporting and information necessary for transaction processing are not forthcoming from our critical service provider.
Evolve operates in accordance with federal regulations governing financial institutions. Any insinuation suggesting that Evolve has intentionally mishandled or withheld funds is entirely false and defamatory.
As we move forward, Evolve Bank & Trust reaffirms our commitment to collaborating with financial industry partners with the shared goal of providing customers access to their funds. 2024.05.18 03:09 Spirited-Clothes-556 I documented my first Stellaris play through as a written "story log book"

Did it for myself, writing it down made everything so much more epic. I don't really expect anyone to read such a long post on reddit. But i thought: why not share it, it doesn't hurt. My experience with the game was fantastic. I really LOVE how you as a player tell a story with all the little decisions, adding up.
WALL OF TEXT WARNING! SPOILER WARNING!
The Story of the People of Certera:
2200: We have united as people on our home planet through our search for the spiritual. The meaning of life, the afterlife, and everything in between. But also, we were curious. Democracy would serve us well.
2220: We traveled through the astral rift close to our homeworld. It led to another dimension, another universe. It turned out this is where our ancestors came from.
2230: After colonizing quite a few worlds, we came into contact with multiple alien species. Our calm and open-minded people were looking for peaceful coexistence.
2240: We surpassed most of our neighbors. The curious "rock people" asked to be protected and became our vassals. Even the isolationist Deep Water people soon followed out of fear of their neighbors. After all, we were peace-loving people.
2250: One of our neighbors turned out to be a hive mind. It sought only to consume. Smaller empires around it started to crumble. But we stood tall. All refugees would be welcome. We would grow together within our borders.
2260: Out of curiosity, we went far in our search for answers. And answers we found. It only needed a spark for our psychic capabilities to be ignited, and our psionic capabilities were born. We added the refugees to our psychic collective. Moderate gene therapy only improved us as a unity.
2270: Huge investments led to more discoveries. Our hunger for answers only grew. A wanderer came to us, a visitor from a foreign species. We welcomed him as a leader. He had strong psychic powers. We started focusing more of our attention on the veil. Suddenly, it struck. The stranger was blessed, immortal from now on, and with more power than ever. Our faithful people decided to pray to him as a god. Our government withdrew in awe, while all people asked for guidance from him. An eternal empire was born.
2280: Our vassals got attacked. We fought wars on all sides to defend our allies and ourselves. Our psionic powers would help, but in reality, the advancements our curiosity had brought us would carry us through the wars even more. After all, we called a Dyson swarm and an arc furnace our own now.
2290: Another isolationist Empire between our vassals declared us their rival repeatedly and insulted our people. We were dedicated to taking them under our wing. Our hunger for knowledge consumed more and more resources, and we grasped at as many stars as we could.
2300: Most in the galactic community were happy to have us on board, and we would use it to grow our influence.
2310: We had all this power, but the question of why we had started our journey was still not answered. Transdimensional and psionic excursions could not free us from our desires to know more. In an attempt to conquer all knowledge, we designed the greatest of mega-structures yet: The Synaptic Lathe. It would combine the minds of our people into one entity, designed to unveil any and every secret of the universe.
2330: The Lathe would prove to be more hungry than calculated. We knew that our people would sacrifice themselves for something greater, but even our best scientists would not have imagined that our citizens would expire at such a rate. While still happy to give their lives, gene clinics were created on every planet to support the growth of our populations. Otherwise, our planets would have been emptied of life soon. Our clerics and bureaucrats used all their ingenuity to come up with ascension plans, improving the Lathe further, reducing expiration of our heroes.
2340: With the ever-hungry Lathe, we started feeding refugees from all over the galaxy into it. Ethical discussions about that could be heard all over our empire. It would be for the betterment of every creature in the galaxy. We hoped the answers would be worth it.
We decided to integrate our most peaceful vassal. They had countless citizens on ocean worlds. Sadly, it became obvious why they needed our protection. Terrible mismanagement led them into a skewed production of goods. They produced vast amounts of food but were losing energy. Luckily, we had the bio-reactor technology. It took quite a while, but eventually, we got them profitable before they could drag the whole empire down. But we were closer to bankruptcy than healthy for everyone's nerves.
2350: In an unforeseen event, an astral rift led us to the center of the galaxy. Instead of the Supermassive black hole, we found an incredibly advanced being who had altered the center to accompany his the "heart" of his almost infinitely old civilization. We spent years defending waves of his corrupted species, so that he could seal the rift there. In exchange, he would send us one of his few still uncorrupted fellows. Even though it seems blasphemous to say that, he appears to be even more powerful than our emperor.
2355: The Marauder clans suddenly emerged as an empire under a strong leader. They took 2 systems with ease and we sent our biggest fleet to fend them off. The divine champion we just received fell. Our emperor is the only true god after all it seems.
2360: The political landscape changed drastically within just a few years. The marauder clans had taken many systems from other empires. And our intel of the other side of the galaxy gave us sight of an empire spanning almost a third of the galaxy. They were set to eradicate any other sentient life, just to "purify" the galaxy. Those threats had us in fear. We needed to shift our attention to preparing for war.
2370: A long decade of war lies behind us. The hive mind which bullied us in the early years blocked an important passage to the marauder hordes. We fought for years and claimed every starbase they had, but they would not succumb to being vassalized. In desperation, we laid claim to the most important passage systems and settled for a status quo.
2371: Right when our construction fleet arrived at the passage systems, a huge army of fallen empire vessels arrived at those systems. They immediately built an empire expansion there. Our plans of expansion and aggressive defense were shattered.
2375: Luckily, the marauder clans crumbled after their leader got assassinated. We would be able to concentrate on our scientific and psionic endeavors, and started to lay bare the secrets of the universe. 2380: With the east side of the galaxy now totally blocked, our only way of expanding would be the west side. Our vassals block this path. With countless worlds under our belt and enough citizens to feed the Lathe, we decided to isolate for now, concentrating on our economy.
2381: With vast armies left from the wars, eating through our budget, we decided it would be time to open the L-Gate. With no idea what's behind, we found ourselves lucky to possess the technology to lock them at any time. 2384: The L-Cluster was completely surveyed and we found nothing dangerous. We only stumbled over this one curious individual, but we decided he would be too suspicious to take with us.
2390: We have finished a vital part of our research. Our applied infinity thesis was somewhat of a success. Unfortunately, the laws of physics changed for the whole galaxy for a few years. The other empires were not too amused.
2395: Massive crime waves have been dragging our empire down for decades. With the L-Gates open, we finally have the means to get to the other side of the galaxy efficiently. We started a war to pressure an end to the criminal and morally condemnable actions. Sadly, many were ready to die for this unethical behavior. Allies from their federation were called. Even the galactic council sent fleets to our borders. We probably overreacted a bit. But the years of abuse could not be forgotten.
2400: The war is over. It has gotten quite dangerous, with an attack war turned into a defensive one. With some cunning, we managed to resecure our borders and lay claim to 2 systems of our enemies before we sued for a status quo. 2405: The whole galactic community was in full hatred of us. They hated us for our recent war. They hated us for our dangerous experiments. They hated us because we sacrificed billions of our citizens for science. If they would only understand how important our work was.
2410: After burning through more and more of our people in the Synaptic Lathe, we finally finished another part of our research. The Infinity Thesis II is fulfilled. Our path is clear to research the Horizon Needle, our vessel for transformation.
2411: The fallen empire of the Red Watchers asks us to show them respect. While we are curious if we could beat them into submission, we have more important tasks at hand. A little pretense wouldn't hurt us.
2412: One of our systems got overrun from the inside by a storm. A mysterious enemy has emerged. They call themselves the Unbidden. Their fleet is massive. All our starports had to start maximum fleet production ASAP. Luckily, our quest in bending reality to our will has bestowed us with designs for the most powerful ships ever built. Hopefully, it would be enough.
2416: We managed to find their weak point. The space station around the portal where they emerged has been destroyed and the dimension sealed. They still had massive fleets in our system. We hoped we could fend them off.
2419: After defeating most of the transdimensional threat, the Red Thorn fallen empire declared war on us. We have been in crisis mode for a while now. Feeding more and more of our population into that lathe, burning through them with high efficiency for casualties and research. We lost 15% of our population, and economics on many worlds have become unstable. The war has taken another huge toll on us. But now we have to stand strong and keep the starports churning. The Lathe will have done its research for the Horizon Needle in 50 months. But we are burning through more than one population unit at a month.
2420: The Red Thorn fleets were too powerful for us. We tried to fight them, but with a crushing victory, they swept us aside. No peace treaty could be made. It was not to be foreseen when they would stop or when this galaxy would burn for us. Our hopes lie in the next. Before our populations are killed in the war, we should rather transfer them to the Lathe until the last pod is filled.
2421: Our home planet of Certera is bombarded by the Red fleet. With 16 months left for our final research, everything seems lost, while billions die under the orbital bombardment.
2423: With our home system surviving the bombardment long enough, we were able to finish the research on the Horizon Needle. Now it only has to be built, while our whole Empire is burning. And we don't have enough alloys ā€“ 25,000 units are missing. Luckily, we had heaps of strategic resources like Zro. In panic, we sold them on the galactic markets.
2430: The empire is still being ravaged. Our homeplanet is in ashes. We managed to set up a new capital on the far side of our empire. The Needle can be built there. The only reachable black hole is in our vassals' space. I hope we will be able to use it. We started integration agreements with our vassals, but it might be too late. If we were even to finish the Needle, we are in utmost luck.
2431: The Needle was found and destroyed. Our empire lost. Our achievements and insights lost. All the answers we found: inconclusive. We needed only one more step to reach utopia. We were eradicated.

House was built 8 years ago, why is this wood an insulation exposed to the ground? Is this normal?
House is kind of built into a hill and has a walk out basement. As the mulch and rocks have settled I can see 2x4s and foam insulation under this layer of flashing (is that what itā€™s called)? Even if the flashing was below the mulch or rocks it would still get wet from touching the ground wouldnā€™t it?
What action should I take to try to prevent or remediate problems? I think Minnesota had some kind of law about homes being structurally defect free for 10 years, if that wood is weight bearing this seems like a big problem?

2024.05.18 02:37 Alone-Competition-77 Ousia pharmacy

Given the recent dust up with Ousia pharmacy not providing proper labeling, I thought Iā€™d do a couple quick Google searches.
First, the Florida filing page for them has documents going back to 2015. (Which is the first odd thing since they should know about labels if they have been around that long) As has been mentioned on here, they are supposedly owned by a company called Total Compliance Solutions in Minnesota. They both list someone named Denise Shrade as the owner, so that makes sense.
If you google around you find this lawsuit and this which I think is part of the same lawsuit. Apparently a Medical Surgical company is suing them or something for not paying their bills? Here is a thread where someone has some unkind things to say about Denise and Mark Schrade and a financial deal they got involved with.
Edit: Also this user found several lawsuits against them for several hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Also, here is another lawsuit filed in Florida against the same Denise Schrade.
Also, here is an odd story about the Schrades trying to buy the Worcester Warriors which contains the disturbing revelation:
The Mail on Sunday can reveal that two of the individuals in Jim Oā€™Tooleā€™s consortium, a couple called Denise and Marc Schrade, were running a weapons store and private medical centre out of the same building in Minneapolis as recently as 2018. The couple also failed to turn up for a recent court case.
So it sounds like Denise and Mark (Marc?) have several interesting business things going on in Minnesota and Florida. What does all this amount to? Maybe nothing. This was about 10 minutes of googling so I probably missed some other stuff.
At the very least, it would be nice to see some proof of the facilities at Ousia pharmacy to make everyone feel better. I still think SlimDownRx is a good company run by good doctors.
Edit 2: I got rated down for posting this link in a comment (some certain someoneā€™s must be lurking) so I am posting it here at the top:
You can search the name Denise Shrade here and find about 8 lawsuits: https://publicaccess.courts.state.mn.us/CaseSearch

2024.05.18 01:02 Delao_2019 Thanks for the stay, Minnesota!

Happy Friday Minnesota! I wanted to give a little praise post to your state.
As an Iowan, Iā€™ve actually never been to MN until this week. We came up for the Yankees-Twins series and to visit some family who have recently moved here. I was pleasantly surprised by the vibe of this whole state. Couple things I want to really point out that Iā€™m taking away from your state after I leave tomorrow.
  1. Your THC drink and hemp market is MILES further than any other local state of mine. When I got here, my cousin-in-law had told me that the local liquor store sells them so I went in to buy a couple packs for the stay. I saw what was an aisle end and thought that was it. Then I turned around and saw a WHOLE WALL of THC infused drinks. I was taken aback. Iā€™ve been to dispensaries in Iowa, Colorado, Illinois, and some hemp ones in Nebraska and South Dakota. I had never seen anything like that before. As someone whoā€™s been alcohol free for 2 years and a medical cannabis card holder, I didnā€™t really like going to the liquor store for that, felt weird, but still awesome. And seeing the people who are buying them is cool. Not just young people but older people as well. It feels like itā€™s become almost destigmatized here and thatā€™s awesome. For reference, Iowa only has one seltzer company and we just banned anything over 10mg.
  2. No sales tax on clothes. That. Is. Awesome. My wife bought herself a new pair of shoes and we got our kid some clothes this week and itā€™s nice to not see a tax on that. Unfortunately Iowa only does that once a year.
  3. Very strollebaby friendly. Everywhere we went had changing tables in every bathroom (menā€™s rooms too!), wide sidewalks and walkways for strollers and zero entry curbs. Bringing our kiddo and maneuvering them around was WAY easier than I anticipated.
The only complaint I have is the way some of you drive up here lol I feel like Iā€™m white knuckling the whole time but I do live in a more rural area and Iā€™ve been in the metro area. It seems like speed limits are just a suggestion lol
Other than that our stay up here has been so fun and weā€™ve really enjoyed our time. We have a wedding in July to come up to and Iā€™m already excited! I think weekend trips up here will become normal for us!
