Hey, so this is a post that I make quite out of curiosity as I'll be traveling to Canada and I'm planning on visiting the US in the upcoming years too, being a resident of EU country.
I couldn't help but notice that there's like gazzilion types of credit cards in the US (apparently even Starbucks issues their own? wtf?) and I was simply wondering if Credit Cards are really a standard type of payment instrument in the US? If if visit, will I encounter any issues "armed" mainly with my debit card? If so - do you recommend any "worldwide" type of CC I should get?
Credit cards are not really a thing in the EU - I mean, they are, but from what I've read only like 25-30% of people have them and minority of them ever uses them on a daily basis. For me it's also an instrument that I have in my wallet but I've only used it like twice in my life. They also don't really come with any sorts of benefits, mainly a few hundred euro "welcome voucher" if you apply for one and that's about it. Never heard of any cashbacks or anything really profitable.
So these are my main questions - should I get a credit card if I'll be travelling to the US for a few weeks of sightseeing because debit might be an issue, and if so - can you recommend anything worldwide? Are there any issues with acceptance between Visa and Mastercard? Are credit cards really so popular in the US?

So I've never had Curve, and judging by posts here it seems to be on life support with no new applications, but I was curious because another reddit user indicated they were able to add a US visa card to their US curve card without issue.

The main fight zone of the game is the town. In the edge : house, a small commerce (tiny to small dungeon) ; Closer to the center: Office, appartement (small to medium dungeon) ; Center : Commercial center, sky scrapper, (subway?) (normal to big dungeon.
Some raiders and some synth will drop their weapons and beg for their life if the health is low enough. Spare enough of them and you will receive letter from either : the minuteman ; the brotherhood or the railroad to thank you for sending more recruit their way. Two or three will regularly visit town.

The vault now trust you enough to tell you about the G.E.C.K.S. The received one that ended up defective and never received the second. They want you to go to the vault building in the center of the town and see if you can find any information about it. Vault tower will be the most difficult dungeon in the game. Beat it to find that the G.E.C.K.S was sent to a second vault that was either unfinished or an experimentation. Go the the vault ## to discover that the G.E.C.K.S had taken some damage from bad condition and bad storage. Get all the item to fix it and either fix it yourself (no money cost) or ask to a vault scientist to fix it (+++ money cost)
Result : The map surrounding your house, the vault and the town will become more and more green with beautiful tree (Process will take ### day or month or years)

I retired March 31st. My decision came around April 3rd(ish) my letter stated pay start date of May 1st. I understand that means I'll get my first payment on June 1st from what I've gathered.
My question is will that first deposit also back pay for the month of April? Or is that month just a loss?
Also for anyone wondering I filed a BDD (benefits day of discharge) claim in October 2023, finished all my appts before the end of December 2023, received a determination the first week of April 2024, less than a week post retirement.
Highly recommend setting up an appointment a couple months before that 6 month mark since appointments can get backed up. Also before you go to your first appt let them know you'll be filing a BDD claim and ask what you need to bring. There's a lot of documentation necessary including birth certs, SS cards, marriage certs, etc...

I'm a special education teacher and mom to three kids. I'm not on any assistance, and I can't keep up with my bills. Last paycheck I needed to shell out $800 to my car insurance company due to a mixed up (lost my debit card and didn't update it for auto pay- ended up getting pulled over, cited, towed, etc.) so my emergency fund was tanked. I made a balance transfer from Citi card to two of my Barclay cards. Citi sent the transfers to the wrong account numbers, which were slightly off from my actual account numbers. I've talked to Citi several times and they finally provided me proof that Barclay received and cashed the two checks, showing on those checks the incorrect account numbers.
I contacted Barclay and they could not locate the checks via a phone call, so they had me send them copies of the checks so they could look them up and apply them to my correct accounts.
That was last Tuesday,I sent the copies via fax and certified letter to be sure they got it.
They have not gotten back with me and have not applied the checks to my correct accounts.
I need help, I'm very upset and worried about this. It was nearly 3000 dollars, which I now owe to Citi, which has not gone to me in any way.
Please help me find which lawyer I need or what else I need to do. I've been dealing with this since April. They only finally sent me the proof Barclay received their checks last Monday.
On the checks the back side shows where Barclay did actually cash them both. So somewhere they've got that money. It's just that the numbers are sightly off from my actual account numbers. Somewhere along the line someone who entered the numbers entered them wrong. Both of them, which baffles me. One account number has two wrong numbers in it and the one has I believe 3 incorrect numbers in it. They're similar to my account numbers but wrong.
I just need to know who can help me make them correct this, my credit score is decreasing due to owing 3000 more than I am supposed to, not to mention... owing 3000 more than I'm supposed to... I'm a nervous wreck.
