2024.05.19 11:48 SalmonWheat Questions about blackwater and betta biotope

I'm interested in making a blackwater tank for a betta. I'm aware that they can tolerate pH ranges from 6.5 - 7.5, but I think it would still be nice to make a biotope that replicates their wild habitat and conditions?
I haven't made any blackwater tank before so I'm clueless as to how I'm gonna be making one, but I'll be doing more research moving forward, for now I wanna ask some basic questions as a starting point.
  1. Water - If I'm remembering correctly, to make a blackwater tank, you need at least a source of water with low mineral content or just plain water. Like RO, rainwater, etc? I'm wondering if there's a way to get past that if I don't have any access to those? I could use rooibos tea to get the tannin look, but wouldn't that just make it a faux blackwater? I would probably be putting IALs and other botanicals to lower the pH anyway, but if there's really no other option then I'll happily settle on a faux blackwater.
  2. Water changes - I think this is where the problem of not having a source of "blackwater-suited" water comes in. The tapwater in my area has a pH of around 7.5 (don't have test kits for other water hardness) so If I have a tank with a lower pH, then it might cause a problem when doing water changes.
  3. Possible solutions to question 2? The first thing I thought would be to store some tapwater and lower the pH by adding botanicals, until it matches my tank's water, then perform the water change. But I'm not sure about this yet and I would appreciate confirmation for anyone who has done this.
Another thing I could do is collecting rainwater, and just buffering it up with tap until it's the same as the tank's, if it's ever too low? I'm not sure if air pollution affects rainwater or if this method is even safe.
Question out of curiosity, would it be possible to have a blackwater tank without performing water changes? Maybe just overload it with plants that thrive in soft water, low light. Or riparian + floater plants until you don't have to worry about water changes. This seems unlikely or really hard to do, but I'm willing to try my luck.
  1. Smell - Do blackwater tanks smell? Given all those leaves and botanicals breaking down in the tank, surely that would also be releasing an odor. I wonder if the smell will disappear overtime as the tank matures/cycle, or is it just something you sign up for when making blackwater tanks?
  2. Any additional advice you can give to anyone who's starting a blackwater tank without experience?

2024.05.19 11:38 Illustrious_Fan9974 Balance changelogs that i wish to be applied ( VO: 2 )

[---Buffs---]
HANK!
  1. Charging time : 3s-2.5s
  2. Added tank trait
  3. Its GONNA Blow (Sp ) : 10%-15% efficiency
  4. Hp value 10800-11200
( Despite this SHRIMP got huge BUFFS yet still staying on the bottom of the tiers ,is really unideal For that being. This should make him put more pressure and be a little defensive on close range scenario's . Also his sp where he gets his speed buff should be increased as it is only a 10% increaseal )
BARLEY
  1. HP value: 4800-5000
  2. Reload speed increased by 5%
( I tried not to give everyone a DMG change since DMG inflation is continuously rising over time.... Soo tried some alternative options tbh. )
JACKY
  1. Rebuild ( Gadget ) area coverage: 3x3 -4x4
TARA
  1. Both of her spawnables hp from SP increased ---( 2400-3200)---( 3000-3800)---
( Nobody's Talkin about how she fell off in the last few months.
BTY tried a different buff for her. What I've seen is what her spawnables hp from both of her SP is still the same even aftrr the universal stat buff. No wondy why her spawnables are soo fragile RN. )
JANET
  1. Attk range: 8.33-9 blocks/tiles
( Hot take but the only thing that i suffer when playing janet is how low her range is.... As a marksman, she just..... Doesn't seem too have enough range, AKA underwhelming ..... Havin that low of attk distance also makes her more fragile, TBH i think this single buff is enough to give her a substantial improvement. )
DARRL
1.Steel hoops SP : Effect duration 2s-3s
  1. Projectile amount : 5-4 DMG Distribution ==> 480--600 per projectile
  2. Rolling reload: now also grants CC immunity for 1s
( Darrls viability is slowly descending due to better picks and HCS ( OFC ) but instead giving a basic Hp Buff, i thought what about buffing his steel hoops, as now he can be more aggro with his playstyle as he will be alot tankier . Also with the second change, he can do more consistent chip DMG even at max/mid range)
BULL
  1. Projectiles amount 5-4 ( Main ATTK DMG distribution: 880-1100)
  2. Super dash speed increased by 25%
  3. Hp value : 10000-10400
( As i knew it, as more characters getting HCS including tanks, those ones whos viability is mostly bcuz of HC are getting heavily powercrept... Also dont forget the uni: HC nerf. I tried to make his super just a little less dodgable by making the dash speed higher , aand as same as darrl, reduced his projectile amount soo he can deal more consistent chip DMG at maximum range )
DOUG
  1. Base healing: 1200-1600
  2. Added tank trait.
ASH
  1. FULL Rage gained from receiving DMG : ==>125%- 100% of his base hp
  2. Rage bar now decays 15% slower
( He is also powercrept due to not having a HC as tanks get the most benefit from it and get the most sufferings without it...BUT, recently i am seeing that, as more characters are getting HCs, tanks HCs are also getting powercrept. Those HCS are still Strong tho ...... But i dont think a single HC will make him alot better. This change should let him be more AGGRO tbh )
[--MISCELLANEOUS BUFFS--]
HIEST SAFE: Base HP increased by 25% Upto ==>(80000-100000 hp)
 2. Now has a Damage cap of 5000 per second
( Do i need to say somtin?.... HIEST recently has been INSANELY powercrept due to more high DMG dealing characters as well as balance changelogs, this sure is a necessary change RN, also keep in mind that the DMG cap is set to per SEC, not like single 5k burst DMG.... That means any higher DMG than 5k on that specific sec will be cancelled )
[---DeBuffs---]
ANGELO
  1. movement speed reduced to fast when charging attks ( from very fast)
  2. SCR : 2-2.5 shots
  3. Main attk DMG : 4400-4000
( Absolute insane marksman RN... The HIGH DMG combined with his insane speed is ridiculous )
MELODIE
  1. Dash range reduced by 25%
  2. Base SCR : 4-5
  3. SCR from notes cut in HALF.
  4. notes no longer charges form special targets including heist safe.
Misc: 1. After hitting a main shot, notes will no longer Dmg target's on the middle of the attacker ( Nerf )
( INSANELY high mobility and Very fast SCR... Considering how easy to hit shots TBH.... Also nobody's giving a Fuck about it... But for some reason, when applying her basic attk, the notes appear literally from her a-- inside..... , Dealing 2760 per attks... Even if all 3 of your notes are charged, u still do insane Dmg with that goffy ahh gimmick. [ 920 from basic attks+ 1840 from the notes ] this substantially increases her Burst DMG value... also once she gets her super... its pretty easy to cycle it with her notes as the notes charge rate is the same as the base SCR, aka 4 hits......Allowing her to do absurd teamwipes . Also the inability to charge notes from special targets will make her an insane Victim of spawners like Nita and Jessie )
PIPER
  1. DMG value: ==>3400-3200
  2. Autoaimer (gadget) : knockback removed, and increased slowness by 300% ( 0.5-2.0s slow ) and DMG increased to 800 from 160
( Having two jail free cards as a marksman are already insane, soo one of them should be tuned down, this gadget change will let her intruder's aproch slower but will not cancel their attks . Mainly the intention is , there should be a way to counter her Greatly in close scenarios.
And talk about her DMG, IMO way overtuned, way too much rewarding when shot hits , needs a balance between like what happened to Nani. )
SANDY
  1. HCR : 60%-40% ( 1.66-2.5 supers )
( His HC is incredibly strong AF, As if it wasn't enough..... )
JESSIE
  1. HCR : 60%-50% ( 1.66-2 Supers )
( got overtuned TBH, getting that much 10k hp turrets are just too overwhelming )
BYRON
  1. Base healing/DMG: 760-720
( Ok i am sorry, but IMO his Dmg/heal got way overtuned.... I already Kinda doubted that after this change he might need a small Nerf... But at the same time... I think he will still be really Good )
CHARLIE
  1. Spiders hp decay increased ( 10%-20%) Upto 10-5s spiders endurance .
  2. Super : victim can now breakthrough the super with its ammo ( each ammo cuts one of five decays from the super , thats means upto -60% super duration if the victim has all the ammo. 5s-2s upto )
Or:
• Victims can now reload and heal up with 30% less efficiency
  1. Attk unload delay: 500ms-750ms
( IDK how to balance her super TBH. She has to be one of the most unserious character supers I've seen. A fast paced multiplayer game where u always have to be active, Havin a character who literally makes u being idle for a decent period of time.... Like even if the super were 3s, she still will be good... Bcuz of how her super works. her Allie's including herself, gets a huge advantage in many scenarios, because 5s is still enough to do the impossible in ongoin matches, atleast in competitive. Soo increasing the decay again will let her and her allies do less amount of crazy plays and other shit. But if u have any ideas, just let me know how to balance her super properly
but what can i see for now which needs a deserved change is that the spooders gadget Imo is still pretty braindead and strong at the same time.... 10s of endurance if doesn't get damaged helps her soo much for control , this especially helps with single non pierce attkers . This should do the damn job
*BUFFS , DEBUFFS and CHANGES *
MANDY
--CHANGES--
  1. first star power is now baseline. it is replaced with THE new SP ( In my sight's)..... Which increases the upper and lower view point by 15% in focused mode...
( IMO her 1st SP is a must for her kit..... So i tried making her 1st sp baseline as I think, she is quiet unviable without it....)
CHESTER
--buffs--
  1. Main Attk DMG: ==( 1280-1400)
  2. SCR : 7-- 6 bells
  3. Poprocks super now have a throwing range similar to other spawners like Nita.
--REWORKS--
  1. 2 nd sp now reveals enemy's ammo bar and charge rate ( CHARGE RATE bar amplifies like lous freeze bar)
  2. 1 st SP now removes one cap bell attack and cycles between 2-3 bells
(Although OUR Mighty JESTER dosent have any good competitive purposes, he still feels awfull in Ladder as well.... bumping the DMG will make his long range shots more rewarding and reworking his 1st SP will reduce his Burst DMG buuuut, this SP will indeed increase his Consistency over DMG even more...)
KIT ( SIZABLE REWORK )
--Buffs--
  1. after leeching out from an allie, he will gain 33% of his super back
  2. Super duration when leeched on allies 10s-12s
--DEBUFFS--
  1. MAIN attk DMG : 2000-1600 ( revert)
--changes ( Reworks )--
1.Power hungry ( SP) : renamed to " Enter context ". When leeched to an allie, his allie will passively Charge its super similar to kit himself, but it will be 20% less effective.
  1. Cardboard box ( gadget) : renamed to "Enter context" will increase leached allies movement speed by 25% for 5s
  2. Overly attached ( SP) : renamed to " Enter context" . Will get 40% DMG when super is applied to opponents and targeted victim will receive 20% more DMG from all source's. The Dmg buff also Includes kits super DMG.
  3. Cheeseburger ( Gadget) : will now heal kit even if he isn't leeched to any allies. But it will be 30% of his max HP. And now has a maximum healing cap of 4000 . ( small Nerf) so no more Kit + Big tank combo.
  4. After leeching out of an Allie, he will gain 25% DMG reduction for 5s
( Tried to make him actually decently supportive rather assassin type. Hot take but kits whole system is just messed up. From gadgets being not supportive enough to SPs being very situational. One thing i also noticed that, supportive characters who has shorter range generally suffers more than the other supports. And not to mention, his super is not that consistent. After leeching out of an Allie, he literally losts his whole damn super and considering he has no other way to fastly charge his super except attacking others opponents, which he suffers again cuz he has short range , low burst and low Hp. So He has to passively charge it most of the time. Which takes a while where 20s to be exact. So i tried to make his super just a little more cyclable and tried making his whole gadget, SP reworked . To make him supportively better. Soo lastly, WDYT? Did i overdo it, or like overbuffed him? Let me know tho. For any improvements)
FRANK
--Buffs--
  1. he can now attank while walking. ( very slow when Attacking , doesn't apply to super )
  2. Main attk Range increased by 0.33 block/ tile . ( 6-6.33 blocks
  3. Super attk range increased by 0.66 block/tile ( 7-7.66 blocks )
--MYTHIC gear--
  1. Will gain 66% of the super back if the previous super gets interrupted
--Debuffs--
  1. Hp value : 14000-12000
( I .... Genuinely don't know how to make uim viable, where almost EVERY SINGLE damn characters somehow counter him ... But what can i see about this change is that he can now have some sort of mobility when proceeding attks )
LILY
--Buffs--
  1. Ammo amount increased to 2 ( Same delay as Fang )
--Debuffs--
  1. Vanish ( gadget ) : now has a 1s delay uppn Activation
( Really gets Carried over this gadget, yet soo fragile without it. )
CHUCK
--Debuffs--
  1. Cant place polls in a HIEST safe ( in a radious of 4 tiles )
--Buffs--
  1. Reload speed 2000ms-1800ms
  2. projectile speed 1750-1860
--CHANGES ( small reworks) --
1 .autoaiming outside the polls will no longer place one , instead all poles now need to be placed manually.
  1. Reroute gadget will pick up the nearest pole instead of last placed pole. The gadget Will Still pick up poles even if the super is Charged
( Outside heist and few hotzone maps.... He recently started to become outshined by other controllers. His kit is really weird as it only works decently on specific modes and maps. Soo kinda tried to rework some of his base stats .
And this change to his super will let him do more good pole placements soo he can do more controlling attribution for his team.. although WDYT?.
SAM ( SIZABLE REWORK)
--Changes--
  1. 1st SP is now baseline. it is replaced with ( insert name ) which upon deploying his super, he will be immune to all CC for 1.5s
  2. 2nd SP is now reworked, after launching his super, after 10s, he will instantly charge his super. (Doesn't passively charge bty )
  3. 2nd gadget is now reworked as well to ( insert name ) . It is like sprouts one, when knuckle Busters are on the ground , using this gadget will automatically home in to himself and will deal 1800 DMG
( He is completely dependent on his 1st SP ... IMO making it baseline is important, second of all... Both of his 2nd gadget and SP is Dogshit.... It really need some love... Soo tried this Rework to remove some of Sam's weaknesses. Also. Is the first SP rework good or just made it too strong ?, let me know)
OR, ( Quickfix)
  1. knuckle Busters pickup timing reduced by half .
  2. Hp Value: 10800-11200
MAISIE
--buffs--
  1. Base SCR : 4-3
--Debuffs--
  1. Disengage gadget will be disabled when proceeding super
  2. Tremors ( SP ) duration : 2s-1s
( A SINGLE CHANGE, singular, not plural .... Just made her literally fall from a skyscraper to below average, and i kinda knew it, a character whos equally consistently dependent on its super and attk , having a same SCR ans SSR is a must have..... Which Maisie had.... Which also maded her consistent. But IMO reverting jt will be a stupid ass idea, soo i tried some other good ways to tone it down. Like the tremors SP, which Imo is one of the biggest reason she was able to cycle supers that much... Like the slow was soo much that she could even even Autoaim most of the time and EZLY get her super back.... And dont get me started when it is combined with that stupid disengage gadget combo, she literally gets like twice the range of her Normal super.... And people barely gets any time to react. )
FANG
--debuffs--
  1. SRR : 45hits
  2. Super DMG: 2400-2200
--buffs--
  1. Main attk DMG : 2720-2800
  2. Super dash speed: 4000-4500
HYPERCHARGE Tweaks
  1. HCR : 20%-30% -- ( 5-3.33 supers)
(fresh kicks SP has been always a must pick for his kit, and now because of his buffed SCR , this SP just straight makes him to be able to destroy low-mid ladder player matchmakings . Although he is counterable in competitive matches. But knowing the fact that 70% of the whole player base are casuals, i think he actually needs a super Debuff, cuz NOBODY likes to get teamwiped in a matter of seconds. He was already pretty solid IF U PLAYED HIM well enough which most of the people weren't. After his SRR buff, he already became STUPIDITY braindead as it is pretty EZ TO cycle supers.
Now i just wanna make him skill based as how he was before sep 2023. The main thing that i noticed was his SRR change is what made him less skill
Tried to revert it. But also giving him some buffs to balance thing's out.
GUS ( Rework to supportive gimmicks )
--Buffs--
  1. spirit heal: 1600-2000
--CHANGES--
  1. Hitting a Spirit Charged attk on a wall will now spawn a Ghost as well
  2. 2nd gadget: removed HP sacrificial ( 5%-0% ) And next attk upon Activation will spawn 2 spirits
( Really hoping this will make him shine again, tried to make him supportively viable by making the spirits actually useful for healing his Allie's. Keep in mind that the sprits healing buff is an indirect buff to his 1st SP as well. Allowing his allie to heal upto 4000 which is pretty substantial. And adding some kind of CC to him soo he can atleast retreat with THIS but added additional nerf to it for a compensation. )
LOU
DEBUFFS:
  1. Hypothermia SP : Max DMG reduction. 50%-35%
BUFFS:
  1. Projectile speed : 4000- 4200
  2. SCR : 8-7 shots ( without SCR gear )
HYPERCHARGE tweaks (DEBUFF)
  1. Hypercharged super insta freeze -70% of the freeze bar will be filled
( Same is COLGATE, not any big problems on his main kit, except his HYPERCHARGE.... Buuut supercell really likes to kill a character whos main issue isn't his base kit. also his hypothermia SP is kinda getting slept on as how secretly STRONG AF it is. You can still almost insta freeze any enemy with HCed super combined with Cyro Shyrup )

2024.05.19 11:33 ScythaScytha Trying to help set up an IR Remote for a student's project -- am lost.

Hi all, I am a teacher trying to help a student with a project. I need help setting up the IR Remote for this kit.
We are programming it manually using Arduino (not the firmware that they offer). We have been able to get the servos moving but got stuck with getting the IR remote working. I have tried a few different libraries, but I have never used an IR Remote before so I'm not sure how it all works. This is what I tried:
#include  const int RECV_PIN = 2; IRrecv irrecv(RECV_PIN); decode_results results; void setup() { Serial.begin(9600); irrecv.enableIRIn(); Serial.println("IR Receiver is ready"); } void loop() { if (irrecv.decode(&results)) { Serial.print("IR Code: "); Serial.println(results.value, HEX); irrecv.resume(); } }

2024.05.19 09:59 SublimeBear Theme is fun and Meta isn't better

In this post I'll provide a few builds meant to play to a theme. They are not "the best bullshit to teabag on solo helldives", they are meant to be fun and are in my experience very much viable at Suicide Missions ( 7 ) and do not drag their feet at Helldive either. If that's all you want, skip to the first build.
If however you feel the need to ask my "credentials":
I have 129 hours played in about 30 days since buying it, am Level 53 and have every warbond unlocked into the highest tier, without spending a dime more then 40 Euros. I have completed solo helldives including extraction. but never bothered with 100%ing or deathless runs on Helldive.
I think Suicide Mission is the perfect difficulty to play on for fun, as it keeps you on your toes without drowning you in heavies everytime all the time.
I will make sure to provide a free option anytime my first choice is locked behind a premium warbond.
BUILD 1 - The Light of Democracy
ArmorPassive: Democracy protects - Theme and Bling Primary: Sickle or Scythe - The sickle is better, but the Scythe is a perfectly fine weapon to use Secondary: Dagger or Redeemer - The Dagger has more light, the Redeemer more ballots to cast. Grenade: Stun or Impact Support: LasCannon - Kills all bots, cuts through most bugs Backpack: Laser Rover or Energy Shield - The former on Bugs, the latter on Automatons Stratagem: Orbital Laser and Eagle Airstrike
How to play: Make sure you inform yourself on where to hit bots for maximum effect and on bugs leave Chargers and Bile Titans to the AT Guy you'll inevitably meet in every random group. If you stick close to someone with a Quasar or Recoilless Rifle, keeping the chaff at bay while they punch the big guys in the face, you'll make friends really quickly. Never be to shy to pick up an convenient EAT for immediate use either. If you expose something fleshy, your LasCannon suddenly does considerable damage. The Orbital Laser and Airstrike can help with Heavies, but the former is best used to clear out a base or burn away a mass of enemies. Also remember: If you kill the hind sack on a titan, it can't spew anymore and will be mostly neutered.
Build 2 - The Sound of Freedom
ArmorPassive: Engineering Kit or Fortified (Engineering kit gives you more boom for your buck...) Primary: Eruptor or Scorcher - Unfortunately the Scorcher is the only 'explosive' Primary in the standard warbond Secondary: Grenade Pistol or Redeemer Grenade: Impact Support: Grenade Launcher or Autocannon - The Grenade Launcher vs Bugs, the AC vs Automatons Backpack: Supplypack if using Grenade Launcher Stratagems: EAT, 500kg, 380mm Barrage or Precision Strike
How to play: In both variants your Support Weapon will be your main armament. Learn how to animation cancel the eruptors reload to use it more like another grenade launcher. The sensible choice for secondary is the redeemer and I prefer it on semi auto, but this isn't about sensibility, this is about freedom! On bugs you'll be the bane of spewers. Just plonk their behind 2 times and watch them explode - so satisfying. In general, you'll have a lot of wave clear potential and the EAT is there to solve your heavy problems. On Automatons you can kill everything with a few well placed shots and should prioritize as normal. Littering the Map with EATs is always a good practice, you can call 78 of those guys over a 40 minute game, so just do it everytime you remember.
Build 3 - The Bullethellion
ArmorPassive: Fortified or Engineering Kit Primary: Breaker-variant or Pummeler- I would recommend the Breaker Incendiary for obvious reasons, but the base breaker is a wonderfull weapon Secondary: Redeemer - duh. Grenades: Thermite or Impact Support: MG-43 Backpack: Supplypack Strategems: AutoCannon Sentry, 380mm
How to play: Anything in front of you should die by lead poisoning. Thermite and the AC Sentry can deal with or soften up heavy armor for you. On bots your priority is to scrap any and all infantry bots the moment you see them. All of them can call in bot drops, but only if they are alive to do so. Nothing is more important and nobody is more qualified to do this then you are. A tank that never drops is as good as a dead tank. On bugs you will struggle to close holes, while thermit can close them, it takes time and they tend to stick to inopportune spots, so practice your aim. The 380mm can delete a big base by itself.

🔗Essential Outdoor Gerber Armbar Scout Pocket Clip Knife

As an outdoor enthusiast, I've been on the lookout for a reliable and compact tool to carry on my adventures. I chose the Gerber Armbar Scout multi-tool for its promise of versatility and compactness.
I was pleasantly surprised by the tool's sleek design, which conveniently fit into the pocket of my backpack. One of the first features I noticed was the stainless steel construction, giving the tool a sturdy feel while keeping it lightweight.
One of my favorite aspects of the Gerber Armbar Scout was its ability to open various packages with minimal effort. The can/package opener was a lifesaver during a camping trip when I needed a quick snack. The 2 1/2'' plain edge blade proved to be sturdy, allowing me to make precise cuts with ease.
However, I did encounter some difficulties with the locking mechanism of the blade, which required a certain level of force to engage. While this wasn't a dealbreaker, it did cause a little bit of frustration during use.
In conclusion, the Gerber Armbar Scout multi-tool serves its purpose as an essential companion for outdoor enthusiasts. Its small size and versatility were impressive, but I did encounter minor annoyances with the locking mechanism. Overall, I would recommend this tool to anyone looking for a compact and reliable multi-tool to take on their next adventure.

As an emergency situation arises, every moment counts. That's when the CRKT Exitool comes in handy, offering a fast and reliable solution for cutting seat belts and breaking windows.
The slim profile makes it easy to conceal, while the textured grip ensures a firm hold. In my own experience, the Exitool has been a lifesaver, with the glass-reinforced handle providing durability and the safety cone tip cover protecting the window breaker while stowed.
The only downside? . The compactness might make it a bit challenging for those with larger hands to use. Overall, the Exitool is a reliable and versatile emergency tool that helps you stay prepared for any unexpected situation.

🔗Gerber Pledge Knife: High-Quality Emergency Cutting Tool

https://preview.redd.it/hif5giinyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74bf93d396fca0e79ec922f48a65446e4a9a7498
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Gerber Crisis Hook Knife, and I must say, it's a lifesaver in emergency situations. This sleek and durable tool is designed specifically for quickly and safely cutting through seat belts, clothes, and even heavy straps or cords. Its lightweight design and smooth operation make it a game-changer when time is of the essence.
One of the most notable features of this knife is its integrated oxygen tank wrench, which adds extra versatility and functionality in life-saving situations. The glass breaker pommel included in the package also comes in handy when encountering obstacles that may hinder your ability to assist someone in need.
While the Crisis Hook Knife has several impressive features, it's not without its drawbacks. The friction lock sheath can be tricky to attach to certain surfaces, and the clip may not be as convenient as advertised. Additionally, the knife's handle, while comfortable and easy to grip, could benefit from a more secure attachment to a tactical belt.
In conclusion, the Gerber Crisis Hook Knife is an invaluable tool for first responders and anyone who needs to quickly and safely cut through various materials in emergency situations. Its lightweight design, versatility, and straightforward operation make it a must-have in your arsenal. Just be prepared to address some minor issues, such as the friction lock sheath and the clip's functionality.

🔗Al Mar Stinger Keychain Knife for Self-Defense

I recently tried out the Al Mar K1001BKG Stinger Keyring Knife in Green. The first thing that caught my attention was the compactness of the knife. With it being such a small size, it's incredibly easy to discreetly attach it to my keychain while still remaining convenient to access whenever it's needed.
The TPR overmolded grip proves to be an excellent feature, providing a non-slip hold, even while my hands are sweaty or in wet conditions. The dual-injected PP sheath adds an extra layer of protection, making it suitable for everyday use without worrying about damaging the blade.
The blade itself has an impressively sharp edge, allowing me to open letters and boxes with ease, yet also offers a sturdy protection for instances of self-defense. Being an advocate for quality tools, I found the Stinger to deliver that expected performance from the reputed AL MAR brand.
However, I noticed that for harder tasks, the blade feels somewhat delicate. One would have to handle it carefully or opt for a more robust knife for such situations, potentially compromising the ultralight key ring knife design. Despite this, overall this knife performs well, and its convenient size and efficient design make it a must-have for those who value versatility and efficiency in a concealed blade on their keychain.

🔗8-in-1 Multi-Functional Carabiner Knife for Outdoor Activities

Using an HMMS Stainless Climbing Carabiner in my daily life has been quite an experience. This multi-functional tool has proven to be extremely versatile, from its use as a knife to its handy LED light.
The knife is sharp and easy to flip out, making it an essential part of my survival gear. The LED light is a lifesaver when the power goes out, and the Phillips and regular screwdriver heads are a great addition for those quick fixes on the go. The glass breaker is also convenient, though I haven't had to use it yet.
One thing that stood out is the carabiner's simple and lightweight design, making it the perfect keychain or hanging tool for my camping trips and other outdoor adventures. Despite its compact size, the carabiner is surprisingly strong and easy to use, with the locking mechanism providing a secure fit. Overall, the HMMS Stainless Climbing Carabiner is an excellent addition to any survival kit, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

I recently had the pleasure of trying out Brouk & Co's Multi-function Carabiner Tool, and let me tell you, it's the ultimate handyman's companion! . This tiny titan is super portable, fitting perfectly in my backpack for those unexpected situations on the go.
With an impressive array of features, I found myself reaching for this bad boy more times than I ever thought possible. Its sturdy design has held up beautifully through various camping trips and household projects.
While its size is convenient, it's not always the easiest to maneuver with larger hands, but overall, this carabiner tool offers exceptional utility and convenience. Whether you're an avid outdoor enthusiast or just someone in need of a versatile tool for daily life, the Brouk & Co Multi-function Carabiner Tool is the perfect fit.

🔗Durable Multi-Purpose Carabiner Knife for Everyday Survival and Outdoor Adventures

As someone who loves being prepared for any situation, I was thrilled to try out the Sheffield Wilco 4-in-1 Carabiner Multi-Tool. The anodized black aluminum carabiner is both lightweight and versatile, making it perfect for everyday carry. The convenience of foldable flat-head and Phillips screwdrivers, along with a sturdy 3-inch serrated blade, ensures that I can tackle tough jobs with ease.
While I appreciate the strength provided by the 420 stainless steel attachments, I did notice that the carabiner isn't suitable for weight support, and it is best to use it more for its attachments. However, considering the multiple functionalities it offers, this small drawback seems like a fair trade. Overall, the Sheffield Wilco 4-in-1 Carabiner Multi-Tool is a reliable and efficient tool that has become an essential part of my daily life.

🔗Versatile Carabiner Knife with Stainless Steel Blades

https://preview.redd.it/shmwro6pyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24b2f235811faab265e25c7fb6e1521235d6d985
As a seasoned outdoor enthusiast, I recently got my hands on the Dakine Hook Knife and let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations! This hook knife is designed for easy accessibility and it certainly lives up to its promise. It can be attached to your harness at any point for a quick and convenient deployment, making it a must-have tool for those seeking adventure and the great outdoors.
One of the main features that stood out to me was its dual stainless steel cutting blades that effortlessly sliced through even the toughest cut lines. The anodized aluminum handle not only adds a sleek touch, but it also provides a comfortable grip that makes it a breeze to use. Additionally, the included sheath for easy harness attachment is an added bonus, guaranteeing the safe carrying of this versatile tool.
While I was impressed by the performance and convenience of the Dakine Hook Knife, I did notice a downside: oxidation. After just six months of use, the aluminum handle started to display signs of oxidation. Of course, this won't affect the functionality, but it does make me wonder whether a more durable material like titanium or carbon fiber might be a better long-term choice.
Despite this minor issue, the Dakine Hook Knife has become a trusted companion on my various outdoor excursions. Its user-friendly design and powerful functionality have really made a difference in my adventures, whether I'm camping or trekking. For anyone in need of an easy-to-carry hook knife that gets the job done, I would highly recommend giving the Dakine Hook Knife a try.

🔗Carabiner Knife Multi-Tool with Locking Blade and Glass Breaker

I recently got my hands on the Dark Energy Carabiner Pro 5-in-1 Multi Tool, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for my outdoor adventures. With its all-metal design, it's sturdy enough to hold up to some serious wear and tear. The quick-snap blade is both smart and safe, and it feels really nice in your hands.
I love having the convenience of two screwdrivers, a bottle opener, a knife, and even a window breaker all in one little package. Plus, the integrated carabiner makes it effortless to attach to my backpack or belt. Overall, the Dark Energy Carabiner Pro has been my go-to tool for every camping and hiking excursion.
Highly recommend! .

🔗Rugged Slim Cut Multi-Tool with Easy-Access Blade

When I received the Armbar Slim Cut Multi-Tool, I was excited to try out its features. Its sturdy design caught my attention, and the burnt orange color added a pop to its sleek appearance. This is a multi-tool designed for the adventurous, and it didn't disappoint.
Let's talk about the scissors, one of the prominent features of this tool. It worked effortlessly for cutting various materials, from fabric to paper. The plain edge blade was also impressive, easily piercing through tough materials. Despite its size, it's surprisingly powerful and perfect for cutting tasks on the go.
The tool's design, with large tool tabs and access points, was user-friendly. It allowed me to switch between the scissors and the blade without any fumbling. The bottle opener was a convenient addition, adding versatility to the tool.
However, it wasn't all smooth sailing. The scissor's spring mechanism felt a bit flimsy, and I had to be careful while using it to avoid any accidents. Also, the blade's deployment could be smoother for a more natural and comfortable use.
Overall, the Armbar Slim Cut Multi-Tool is a robust and versatile everyday carry tool. It's perfect for those who need a reliable, lightweight, and multifunctional item for various tasks. Despite a few drawbacks, I'm confident that this will be a valuable addition to many people's toolboxes.

🔗8-in-1 Carabiner Multitool with Stainless Steel Blade and EDC Features

https://preview.redd.it/14mhb8hqyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15c3daa01b69fe09b64c9bc0fe7d8003b042526a
The Carabiner Keychain Multitool is an 8-in-1 lifesaver that's perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Its sleek design makes it easy to carry around, and its durability ensures it will withstand even the toughest conditions. The sharp stainless steel blade is perfect for a variety of tasks, while the aluminum hand holder provides a sturdy grip. The multi-functional design includes a hanging carabiner, Phillips screwdriver, slotted screwdriver, bottle opener, and more, making it a versatile addition to any EDC (Everyday Carry) setup.
Despite its robust build, the Carabiner Keychain Multitool is surprisingly lightweight, making it a great choice for everyday carry. However, it's essential to remind others to exercise caution while using the sharp blade. Overall, this compact, versatile tool is a must-have for anyone seeking survival gear or everyday convenience.

🔗Polymorph Carabiner Multifunction Knife with Titanium Finish

https://preview.redd.it/hcunm9rqyb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5917d0f3445ce17fe753e7ee55d8787c9d9716b
The Civivi Polymorph carabiner multitool has become a handy companion in my outdoor adventures. The anodized titanium body is quite durable and serves as a perfect casing for its versatile features. The carabiner clip is a fantastic addition, allowing me to attach the tool to my backpack or gear, keeping it close at hand when needed.
One of the most useful aspects is the 9Cr18MoV scalpel blade, which makes this multitool an excellent option for opening bottles or cutting through some rope. However, the hex bit driver lacked enough leverage for me to fully appreciate it during my camping trips.
The choice between the plain titanium and bronzed titanium finish adds a personal touch to the overall design, making it a stylish and practical accessory for any outdoor enthusiast. While the Civivi Polymorph has its pros and cons, I find it a valuable addition to my outdoor gear lineup.

🔗Portable 8-in-1 Multi-Tool with Key Ring

https://preview.redd.it/nuijt92ryb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10b0d2ee30d342e1beadfc2edfa19192fd654b49
The Cabela's Silver Pocket Tool was an unexpected pocket companion in my daily life. It was a great multitasker that never failed to provide convenience on-the-go, and its anodized aluminum handle always gave me a sense of sturdy stability. I found myself using it more than I expected, especially the knife, file, and flat-head screwdriver.
While the larger tools were great to have, the smaller ones sometimes felt a little lacking. The screwdriver and corkscrew had considerable wiggle room, which made me hesitant to use them on heavy-duty tasks. But in all honesty, for a tool of this versatility and portability, it wasn't too surprising to come across these slight disadvantages.
The Cabela's Silver Pocket Tool, in all its multi-tasking glory, did become a handy accessory to keep in my bag or backpack. I never regretted having it by my side during unexpected camping trips or when I needed to open a stubborn lid. But it's a device that's best suited for those who appreciate its versatility over precision.
Honestly, it's great to have such a multi-tasker with you, but it's not without its drawbacks. It's a case of compromises, as it seems. With the Cabela's Silver Pocket Tool, you're sacrificing a bit of precision for that all-important portability factor. Is it worth it? That depends on your own priorities. But for those who need a tool that can do a little bit of everything in a pinch, this is indeed the handy gadget you've been hunting for.
So, all in all, the Cabela's 8-In-1 Pocket Tool might just be a perfect fit for your next adventure. But remember, it's not without its imperfections. It all comes down to balancing your needs and understanding its limitations.

Hi guys,
Have been cycling for almost two months, and finally seeing results. 0 nitrites and maybe 10 nitrates, possibly a little bit of ammonia.
Do you think my tank is finished cycling and is ready for my first fish??

2024.05.19 06:22 Slyme-wizard 2 LEGO fortnite ideas: Custom minifigure and more collab part sets

While you would still be able to play as the main locker skins, there would be an option to build your own minifigure. You’d start with just default skin parts to work with but with every skin with a lego style that you own you gain more minifigure parts to use. That way the incentive to buy more skins for the gamemode isn’t lost, and may even be amplified further. They could even start bundling certain minifigure parts into the underwhelming lego kits with parts from official lego minifigures rather than fortnite ones to increase their values.
Also I think that the most eisley parts sorta show that the lego building kits would be a lot more popular and justified as dlc if they made more kits that were based on collabs rather than stuff that should just be in the game already. Stuff based on Marvel, DC, TMNT, Avatar, heck even lego properties like ninjago, monkie kid and the lego movies. Imagine a lego kit for the daily bugle or for an air temple.

2024.05.19 06:21 Just_Mellow Coolbooter errors + Coolbooter CLI short guide + N1ghtshade Guide

The post is intended mainly for A6 (iPhone 5c) users, but I hope it may help many new users :)

Coolbooter 1.6

Basically, if something doesn’t work out for you, try downgrade to older versions, there seem to be no concrete solutions to the problems. Remember that you won’t be able to do this on an 8GB device.
- stuck at disk partition
You can try older versions of Cooboolter it maybe can help you. if you using kok3shiX, turn on the toggles "enable legacy patches" and "destroy sandbox containers" or just use h3lix jailbreak.
- stuck at [cb] loaded
Try older version and make sure you don't have a passcode.
- stuck at activation screen
As I understand you should use older version and try many times :,)

Coolbooter 1.5/1.4.1/Older

You can get the same error or cydia dead which is very difficult to fix if you are not an expert in this. You can try Coolbooter CLI using macos or whitererminal tweak :D maybe it’ll help you.
- task\_for\_pid error - re-jailbroke with h3lix instead of kok3shiX
- stuck at disk partition - give up or try coolboter cli

Coolbooter CLI

How to use Coolbooter CLI with Whiteterminal ?
All you need is install these two tweaks and enter the commands below in whiteterminal
  1. su - (gives root)
  2. alpine
  3. coolbootercli 8.4.1 --datasize 8GB -use-dpw (8.4.1 - version you want, 8GB - space for OS)
  4. Then open Coolbooter app and press Boot
If nothing works out for you, first try downgrade the tweak, also as I know iPhone 3Gs/4S(2014) don't work. Supported devices at the bottom.
- You don't have enough space error (there is enough) - try to downgrade Cydia Substrate tweak

Coolbooter repo not working?

  1. Visit this link in safari on your iDevice.
  2. Press "ISRG Root X1 CA (Let's Encrypt)"
  3. The website will take you to settings. Install the profile.
  4. Try to add Coolbooter repo again!
I advise everyone who has iOS below 10 to do this, it will allow many things to work a little better in Safari etc
Thx u/The_Lego_Maniac
Supported Coolbooter devices:
iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Mini 1G, and iPod Touch 5G.

N1ghtshade

  1. Using your Mac, download V1.0 and Release Candidate 3 of N1ghtshade.
  2. Download IPSW file, you can choose any version of iOS for your iDevice
  3. Open N1ghtshade V1.0, select Other and open Restore menu.
  4. Connect your iDevice and press Power + Home button for 10 seconds, release the Power button and keep holding the Home button 10 seconds to enable DFU mode.
  5. Select your IPSW file in Restore menu and wait until it's done.
  6. Open N1ghtshade Release Candidate 3, select Other and then open Jailbreak menu. You need to enable DFU mode again (point 4).
  7. Back to N1ghtshade V1.0 and select Boot Tethered, enable DFU mode and wait until it's done.
  8. On your iDevice, open the Nightshade app and install Cydia, then Boot Tethered again.
Be careful when installing the App Admin/App sync tweaks on iOS 7/8, half of your apps may be deleted

Legacy_IOS_Kit (tethered)

  1. Download version of LiK for your Mac (LiK - Legacy_IOS_Kit im just lazy)
  2. Open LiK Folder and run restore.sh file via terminal (tip: mark "always open with" option)
  3. Select Restore/Downgrade (type 1 in terminal), then Other (Tethered) (type 4).
  4. Select Target IPSW which you have download here, you can choose any version of iOS for your iDevice
  5. Start operation, for the 1st question type n (don't jailbreak now) and then spam Enter.
  6. Run restore.sh again, select Jailbreak Device and spam Enter button for all questions until its done.
  7. Run restore.sh again :D and select Other Utilities (5), then Just Boot (6), spam Enter.
  8. Congratulations, you did it !
In this case, App Sync tweak works, I just checked. if you are an iPhone 5c user like me and you need this tweak I recommend this method, if you are a simple user n1ghtshade will be more convenient for you guys. All other A5 and A6 users are better downgrade untethered ofc. As I know for iPhone 5 my favourite iOS 8.4.1 your choice.

This guide kinda small and many people already know everything, but for new users I hope that it'll be useful. Write comments and I will gradually update post :)
Thanks to my beloved iPhone 5c, on which nothing works or installs and there are only errors around, I suffered a lot and I wanna save you from this dhaha, the hero of the occasion is the white and blue iPhone 5c, thank him, but after all its still my favourite iPhone. I strongly don’t recommend use Coolbooter on this device, it often completely refuses to work on many models. Tested on iPhone 5C 32GB (Global) and iPhone 5C 16GB (Global), both iOS 10.3.3. I recommend using n1ghtshade instead.

2024.05.19 05:52 ladyelenawf Have I just been lucky?

So about 15-20 years ago a little kiosk in the mall was selling bamboo with pretty gravel in the bottom that included 2 frogs. On a whim I bought 1. The frogs lasted about 2 years. I got another one at the same kiosk and they only lasted about 4 years. The tank, for lack of a better word, was about 8" H x 6" W x 6" D.
The water came about 2" from the top and that's where I kept it. I fed them twice a week, also. That's it. They didn't come with instructions beyond what was in the food pack they gave me. I know it wasn't a full gallon of water as the entire thing was smaller than a gallon jug of milk.
Now that I'm a preschool teacher's assistant I was thinking of getting some again. There seems to be so many instructions, water to frog ratios, adventure tank sizes.
Was I just lucky? Or can I just set up the same situation again? Should I look into this "living sand" places keep trying to include in the kits?
Thank you in advance for your time.

2024.05.19 05:41 Fit-Oven7904 The Most Overstocked Tank I’ve Seen

The Most Overstocked Tank I’ve Seen
I want to preface this by saying that this is not my tank; I completely helped out a stranger. We exchanged numbers, and I'll be happy to help him out again if he needs it. I met him at Petco, and this was the before video of his tank. I'll reply with the after video.
I overheard him mentioning a growth film on top of his water. The worker asked what he was feeding, and he said frozen and pellets. The worker then suggested rinsing the food out before feeding and brought a metal mealworm strainer. He looked awfully concerned, so I stepped in and tried to get more information. When he showed me a picture of his tank, I started asking questions. Right away, I knew his water level was too high because I had encountered that issue before, with food particles floating on top of the water. Eventually, he asked if I was willing to stop by and take a look at his tank.
Long story short, he bought the tank from another person and only had it for 20 days. The tank came with three fish, and he added eight more fish in those 20 days, all in a 15-gallon tank 🙃.
I felt so bad for the fish. This man had no idea how big some of these fish get and no knowledge of a proper cleaning schedule besides a 2.5-gallon weekly water change and glass cleaning. He didn't have any test kits; it was a hot mess. This rant is mainly due to my frustration with local fish stores (LFS). What happened to asking about tank size and the number of fish you have?
OHHHH AND! To people re-homing tanks: please make sure whoever is buying your tank at least knows how to clean a filter sock 🙃.
P.S. We’re looking to rehome his foxface ASAP. Anyone in the Los Angeles area interested?

2024.05.19 04:45 StrainItchy67 Is this shrimp safe?

It is an EF-S from the topfin 1g diamond tank. I was wondering if the slits on it was too big?

Though, they are being added to a 2.5g.

Buying aap-01 amped kit in Canada
Ok so I live in Canada and I was wondering if it was possible to buy the aap-01 hpa kit on ampedairsoft.com. All the other US sites dont let me buy the aap-01 because of restrictions in Canada but ampedairsoft.com lets me place an order. Will I encounter problems. For some reasons the aap-01 is 110$ more expensive in Canada. Kinda crazy when the gun is sold 99$ in the US
