So I’m a weekend warrior and lately it seems like all I’m getting is no tip or low tip orders. I was worried about my acceptance rate going down so I ended up taking a lot of these and I swear I got like 4 no tip orders in a row, which ended up making my earning barely above 10 bucks an hour.

If I stop accepting these crappy orders will I just stop getting orders all together?
Do non tippers understand why their food takes forever to get to them? I had a lady yell at me that she had been waiting for 90 minutes and after I pressed “complete the delivery” I see she tipped 0 dollars. It was 4.25 for 7 miles and I only took it because my acceptance rate is in the 60’s now

Reflections:
I'm super grateful and happy with my decisions. I have committed to Princeton, and it definitely is the best fit for me. College results this year were very random, but I couldn’t be more thankful to get into the #1 undergraduate university. I was worried that since most of my application was MIT-related (Research, classes, Letters of Rec, Awards, Activities), other universities would think I was going there and reject me. College results were super random and stressful, but it worked out better than I could have ever imagined. It's funny how I got waitlisted and rejected from all my target schools (Vandy, UMich, USC) but then got into most of my reach schools.

Be authentic. There is no formula that gets you in. Sure, you have to do a couple of things like getting good grades and SAT scores and having some unique activities and awards, but especially for Top 10 schools, you just have to be unique and authentic. I didn't have any connections or background (like private school and college counselor) that provided me with opportunities. I was literally the first kid ever from my school to get into Princeton. I was authentic and hardworking, did stuff I enjoyed, and one thing led to another. I also spent a lot of time on essays and my application. 50% of the work is actually doing stuff, and the other 50% is showcasing it in your college application. Also, have balance in life. The Lead-Up:
After months of gruelling training including the requisite time spent napping, curating the perfect Spotify playlist, photographing flat-lays of my kit, balancing chia-seed count to GU consumption, and sticking to zone 0.7, I was finally ready to tackle the infamous 5K Ultra. Thanks to my legendary Strava art skills, I had already been approached by several manufacturers to test their kit in the field and under gruelling conditions. Nike hooked me up with their Alphafly 17 prototypes. They claimed these shoes were so fast, they could propel a snail to a world record. Challenge accepted, Nike.
Garmin, those time-bending wizards, bestowed upon me the Garmin 1080p (p for "prototype”). This isn't just a GPS watch. It is a chronometer designed to measure the subtle fluctuations in spacetime that occur when one operates at my pace.
GU understood the need for fuel that could sustain not just the body, but also provide the energy needed to keep my mind from bending under pressure. Their prototype gel, a symphony of liquified Achilles tendons and distilled gazelle sweat, promised to unlock the latent antelope within me, or at least the fraction thereof required for this monumental endeavour.
My feet, those tragically unsung heroes of endurance, were adorned with "anti-blistering pace" socks. These are engineered by ~~[REDACTED]~~ to deliver a delicate balance between progress and preservation. Their integrated rate-limiter ensured my pace remained within the optimal range for completing a 5K in 24 hours while never reaching a pace that can be considered ‘blistering’.
Keeping me (barely) road legal were the Nike shorts. Engineered with space-worthy precision, their brevity is not a fashion statement, but a calculated strategy to optmise perineal airflow. After all, in the pursuit of greatness, every millisecond counts.
And then there was the singlet. A gossamer-thin weave of moon dust and unicorn tears that shimmered with an ethereal glow as a symbol of my otherworldly connection to the cosmos, a testament to the fact that my running transcended the mundane constraints of gravity and time. Nike really pulled out all the stops with this one.
In the eight weeks before the race, I began my taper in earnest and was pulling 18-step days in the last week. I didn’t sleep for three days and three nights leading up to the race but it’s ok - I have been trained for this is what I kept telling myself so that my self-talk fell just shy of being forbidden by AIMS regulations.
Starting Line Serenity:
As I stood at the starting line, looking absolutely spiffing in my celestial singlet and Alphafly 14s, a wave of reverence washed over the crowd. This was the hushed anticipation of a scientific breakthrough. The gun fired and I embarked on my journey, each step a deliberate calculation and a calibrated multiplication of stride brevity multiplied by cadence.
0 - 200m: Swiss fucking clock
The Garmin 1080p hummed with satisfaction as my pace aligned perfectly with its arcane algorithms. The world around me seemed to speed up, the sun's rays bending to my will. GU flowed through my veins. Everything was according to plan.
200m-800m: Shoes make the runner
I started to pay attention to my shoes. These Alphaflys are significantly better than version 12 (which only I happen to know are a direct descendant of version 9 with a more cushioned upper and a more breathable midsole). Their energy return is abysmal all the way until toe-off, when they absorb about 99.8% of your stride energy. I was suitably impressed.
800m -1.2km: Disaster
Disaster struck. The Garmin beeped loudly and engaged panic mode, vibrating my wrist so hard that I felt tendons in my shoulder start to part ways with my arm. I had entered Zone 1. I was only 4 hours in and already in danger of overcooking this race. But I have trained for this. More GU, tighten the shoelaces. Breathe with the famous 14-8-21 pattern, think of all the people I hate…
1.2km - 3.8km: Eyes wide shut
I have very little to report. This middle section of any race is where I lose concentration and focus. I closed my eyes for most of this stretch and just counted the hours. I kept repeating my mantra that the only hour of the race that matters is this hour. I was burping Achilles tendon from the GU and made a mental note to tell GU something about this. I don’t remember what that something was but it was one of the toughest times of my life.
3.8 - 4.2km: Perineal Optimization (& Cosmic Alignment)
The Nike shorts, those aerodynamic marvels, whispered sweet nothings to my meticulously streamlined perineum. With each stride, I could feel the very fabric of reality bending to my will, the stars aligning in perfect harmony with my stride and Mercury simply sipping on the Gatorade. I was fading in and out of a shimmering and glimmering and sparkling hallucination that I decided to succumb to. If I made it through the night, all would be fine.
The Finish Line Triumph: 24:00:07 (twenty four seven)
As I crossed the finish line, 24 hours and 7 seconds after I began, the crowd simply stared in a hushed awe. This wasn't just a finish. It was one of those defining moments in sports. It was Pheidippides breaking the 4-minute mile, Usain Bolt breaking the 4-hour marathon, Michael Phelps jumping a 3-yard long-jump - a paradigm shift in the world of running. The Garmin 1080p, its mission accomplished, succumbed to the temporal distortions it had so diligently recorded and vanishing from my wrist, lost to time and space. The GU that was left in my backpack, its energy fully expended, evaporated into a puff of magical purple smoke. The soles of my Alphaflys were melted into a soothing, aloe-vera goo that I applied to my sunburned perineum.
Key Conclusions:

Endurance is not a race against others, nor against oneself, but a harmonious dance with time, space, and prototype kit.
Perineal optimisation and cosmic alignment are the keys to unlocking the next level of human potential.
When we persevere, we are capable of feats that inspire at least 40 generations of athletes.

Today, I will be giving nicknames to all NYC subway lines. Some are well-known, others I made up. I will be giving a little explanation to why, as well.
1: Best on Broadway. It stops a lot, but man is it good uptown!
2: Seventh Avenue Shuttle. Ripping through midtown at 45-55mph??!! YES PLEASE!!!
3: Red Rocket. Just as fast as the 2 on the express track...or even faster...than still not slow in Brooklyn. Fastest train in the whole freakin' system.
4: Lexington Laser. Soon as it arrives at 125 St you already know it's gonna barrel to City Hall...straight as an arrow and fast as a laser.
5: Dyre Direct. Express in all three boroughs it goes through during rush hour.
6: Pelham Packer. Frequent, but overcrowded as heck!
7: International Express. Most diverse train line in the world.
A: Airplane. Stops are mad far apart. Speedy. And goes to JFK. But also like an airplane, prone to delays.
B: Brighton Blazer. Only way to get to/from South Brooklyn in a good amount of time...all the other trains are slow as heck but B is really fast.
C: Catch the A train. Please do, it's so much better.
D: Dreadfully Delayed. If you want a hyper-express, take the A/4/5, not this garbage.
E: Excellent Express. Sorry, but "Homeless Express" just won't cut it for a line as great as the E. Super fast(48mph) on Queens Blvd, good local on 8 Ave/53 St.
F: Flying Fish. Jumps out of the water on QBL for a little while and zooms...then back to square one cuz it can't actually fly.
G: Garbage. That's just what it is.
J: Joke. Again, that's just what it is.
L: Local Legend. How does a train run every 2 minutes and get from Canarsie to 8 Ave-14 St in 45 minutes while stopping at every stop? The locals say it's just a legend...but others say it's real, it's called the L train.
M: Mystery. Why it won't just do its job and departs the terminal 20 minutes late just to terminate a few miles from it?
N: New Yorker's Nightmare. If New York is the Big Apple, the N train is that brown part so rotten you can't even bite into it. Worst line in the system, or at least up there.
Q: Quiet Queen. While the Q train itself may be quiet, so is the speed of its express runs, and for that matter, its entire route.
R: Rarely Right There. When it is you celebrate, then you rethink your life choices because you go 10mph and get passed by like 15 E/F trains.
W: Weekday Only. And even when it runs it's terrible.
Z: Zombie. Never knew it existed.

I'm in a bit of a predicament
28M personal trainer in the UK. Very new to the industry. I currently work for a big commercial gym chain. The area is nice, but the clientele is very low value as there is no contract for members with my gym and you can be a member from 16 years old. My current monthly rent is £790 a month, with the first payment due on 1st July. I do 12 hours of contracted work where I help clean up, do gym classes etc for minimum wage.
I went into a gym nearby the other day, which opened at the end of march. This gym is a franchise and seems a little more tight knit with a minimum of one years contract for members signing up. There is currently 1 PT there. I got talking to the owner about rent prices for personal trainers and the conversation turned into essentially an informal offer from him for me to come and PT there. I said I'll need to think about it.
Do I stay at my current gym or take the plunge and accept this offer? I've listed pros and cons below to make it a bit clearer:
Pros of my current gym:

Extremely close by (15 min walk)
Management leave you to get on with what you need to do
Job stability as I am already here

Cons of my current gym:

Lots of poorly maintained equipment
Dirty
Understaffed (another PT is leaving in 2 weeks and they are having to close the club earlier)
Expensive rent
Flakey clients/lots of students
Contracted hours are mandatory
24/7 with staff hours between 6am-10pm, so erratic contracted shift patterns

Pros of new gym:

Brand new equipment
Clean
Only one other PT currently, so potential monopoly on clients
Flexible with rent choices (no contracted hours for more rent or do a few hours for less rent etc)
Staffing hours 8am to 10am so little bit easier in the mornings
Potentially higher quality clients and client retention

Cons of new gym:

Been open for 3 months and only 1 PT (potential red flag?)
Further away (20 minute cycle or 10 minute train)
Could join and end up getting no clients, then I'm really fucked haha
Potentially same value clients as current gym
Lots of competition from other gyms in the area

If you guys have any tips or advice on how best to proceed I'd really appreciate it
