2024.05.17 10:57 Acceptable-Agent2491 Can multiple GPs be authorised to prescribe?

Background: Got diagnosed last year, psychiatrist referred prescribing duties to GP, Schedule 8 obtained and commenced on short-acting Methylphenidate.
Results have been good (yay!) and have been at a steady 20mg twice a day but still experiencing anxiety and insomnia (both of which predated the diagnosis and no doubt are related to the ADHD), so I went back to the GP last week to discuss trying dexamphetamine or Vyvanse or potentially adding in a non-stimulant like Clonidine to see if that helps with any of those other issues, as has been reported by others.
So, GP measured my blood pressure and pulse, both of which were elevated (because I had ridden my bike straight from the gym where I’d done a weights session preceded by a big scoop of pre-workout).
GP freaked out, and not only did not explore the other medication options with me, but also cut me off the methylphenidate and referred back to the psychiatrist for an immediate review. I asked for the blood pressure and pulse to be measured again that day or the next day, but the GP said because of the anxiety and insomnia the methylphenidate MUST be causing the issues and therefore I was done with meds for now until the review.
Now, I appreciate the caution but this has confirmed a general sense that I had that the GP is not very familiar with or confident in prescribing this medication (further confirmed by requesting that I slowly taper off the methylphenidate over a week, which isn’t really appropriate for short-acting stimulant medication but would be if it was a common SSRI or something similar). And in terms of anxiety, subjectively it’s actually lessened since commencing meds because I know I can actually do the things I need to do.
So I’m thinking as I have to have a review with a psychiatrist anyway:
-Do I ask them to approve another GP for prescribing medication?
-Can more than one GP be approved for this at a time (as my GP generally is fine so I’m not that keen to ditch completely but feel I need someone that can more confidently prescribe and consider other medication as appropriate).
-What are other people’s experiences with anxiety and insomnia symptoms when something like clonidine is added into the mix?
TIA!

Adventure 390 X: Something what KTM did right
Showing a side-by-side photo of my current bike with an ADV 390 for size comparison.
This is something what KTM did finally and justice in somewhat sense to the ADV sector of the biking society by introducing the Adventure 390X in India.
A simple, no-nonsense adventure touring bike for you to sit and travel to anywhere you want with the basic power and control at the palm of your hand. Gone are the electronics and the somewhat working quickshifter and all you have is a bike with switchable ABS without the cornering ABS and Traction control, that’s it. The riders who prayed for the Traction Control to be switched off will finally be happy as this bike won’t hamper their riding experience and enjoy the bike the way they wish to. Tried and tested power mill at 43.5ps is no joke and certainly not a bore at all which will make highway riding great fun to drive.
The only thing which felt missing was a lower seat height option which should’ve been an option like the standard ADV 390 model and adjustable suspension which would’ve made it the most demanded ADV on the market above all currently on offer!

2024.05.17 10:26 Nano85z Best Bike Stands?

I have a 2018 CB650F and I recently got a flat tire and was planning on changing my tires. My idea was to take my wheels off, drive them to the mechanic, have them install new tires, then put the wheels back on myself. This way, I’ll save myself some money, plus I won’t have to worry at all about possibly plugging my tire wrong and it going flat omw to the shop. Problem is, I’m having trouble finding a cheap and decent stand that can lift both wheels up at the same time that’ll allow me to remove both the wheels.
I’ve seen a few different options:
this it’s cheap and has pretty good reviews.
this more pricey, but seems a lot easier and more likely not to mess up and drop my bike than the one above.
this from what i’ve read, ABBA has a very good reputation. only things i see that kind of suck is the shipping time since i’m the in US and they ship from the UK.

2024.05.17 10:18 SRIXONIMO Tern GSD R14 or S00??

We're in the process of buying our first cargo bike and have decided on the Tern GSD. We will be storing the bike outside and live in a city where weather will be very varied throughout the year (inc. wind, rain, and snow). As a result, we think either the S00 or R14 make the most sense for us. For reference, the bike with have very regular usage, but over relatively short and flat distances (a mile or two per day, no steep hills).
Initially we had decided on the S00, but during my research I've come across quite a lot of mixed reviews on the Enviolo, including a seemingly high number of issues with certain components (e.g. the cables involved in gear shifting). Conversely I can't find anyone with a single bad thing to say about the R14 - it seems to be universally praised.
My reasoning for considering the R14 is that it sounds as though it may be more reliable, and therefore over the coming years our maintenance costs should be lower. Taking that into account, the price difference between the two bikes is perhaps not as large as it first appears on paper? Does that make sense, or am I just trying to talk myself into getting the fancier one :-)
I would really appreciate any advice anyone has to offer. Buying online in Germany, the R14 seems to be around 1800 EUR more expensive for a single battery variant.
One other thing - I'm a bit confused about pricing on these bikes. On the Tern website, the R14 is listed at 9799 EUR, but this doesn't match the figures listed on any of the sites where I can actually buy the bike. Is there an easy way to make sure I'm buying the correct, most up to date version of the bike?

2024.05.17 09:53 Naerbred Anyone willing to share their experiences with the Zontes motorcycle brand ?

I'm looking into getting the Zontes 350x but because it's such an unknown brand , I hardly find any proper reviews because every video about Zontes bikes is basically the rider just driving about and having a good time on a brand new bike.

2024.05.17 09:21 Loud-Ad9446 Personal Album Review

Personal Album Review
(This is a personal review everyone has the right to their opinion)
I absolutely loved this album while I’m not much of a country fan because I find it slow and repetitive I think zayn made this album a masterpiece! He was able to make it country/folk like but make it unique especially with his voice riffs and instrumentals. This is probably my second favorite album of his because of how raw and unique it is, I also appreciate how much effort he has put in this album with his promo. I hope he does a tour with this album I’d love to hear these songs live! Anyways as I listen to each song I made quick little reviews so if ur interested here it is… (These r personal opinions if u love a song I might not have, ur welcomed to disagree🙂 this review is coming from someone who doesn’t really listen to country/folk)
Dreamin - 7/10 A great song to start off the Album, it sets the whole vibe for the rest of the songs
What I Am - 8.2/10 I loved this song when it first dropped and is what got me hyped for this album, I like everything about this
Grateful - 7.7/10 The chorus was really my favorite, and the whole song is soulful
Alienated- 4.7/10 A little too country and slow for my liking however I think his voice is so soothing like silk but also rough in a good way
My Woman - 6.8/10 I love his raspy voice in this song and the beginning is my favorite part
How It Feels - 9/10 My absolute favorite song on this album! The way he puts so much emotion in this track made me feel like I was floating, the instrumental was amazing as well, this track gave off James Arthur or James Bay vibes
Stardust - 8/10 Very great song to listen to while outside and the instrumental sounds so good I love the backtrack
Gates of Hell - 5/10 Repetitive however I’d like to think this song was aimed towards Yolanda so that makes me chuckle
Birds on a Cloud - 7/10 Very upbeat song that has deep lyrics that I think people can relate to
Concert Kisses - 6.9/10 A fun song to listen to while at a lake watching a sunset
False start 7.7/10 It’s the type of song I see playing in a movie where the main characters are voyaging on their adventure
The Time - 7/10 Amazing vocals
Something in the water - 8/10 Very Zayn coded something I could see being in his album Icarus Falls, mix of soft chill R&B
Shoot at will - 6.8/10 I think the song is about Gigi. I believe in certain lyrics he talks about seeing her in khai, and asks if she see’s him in her as well
Fuchsia Sea - 8/10 A very chill zayn song, I liked the sound of this track
Whole Album - 8/10 I think this is one of his best albums, you can really hear the creativity in this album as a whole. It’s so beautiful and soulful, I hope it gets recognized by the media!
What you u think, is this ur favorite album?

2024.05.17 09:17 dqb90 Apartment advice

Hi! I’ll be moving to New Haven in August. Never been in the US before. I need to sign a lease ahead of time and before my arrival. Most probably will ask a virtual tour before signing. Safety and proximity to Yale school of medicine is my priority. I prefer to live in a “luxury” apartment building. I looked at the Liberty building, olive & wooster, 900 chapel, 360 state street, the Taft, the whit, the archive. I found mixed reviews (mainly bad) and couldn’t come up with a conclusion. I would love to hear your experience and share which apartment building is best to live in? Thanks!

2024.05.17 09:06 dqb90 900 Chapel? PMC Property Group?

PMC Property Group? Has anyone had any experience with PMC Property group? I a new to New Haven and need to find a place ahead of time, probably by a virtual tour. I did some research and found absolutely horrible yelp reviews. Not just bad, but most of them made it out like they were cheated out of their deposit, didn't address major issues like flooding, etc. Would love to hear about any experiences anyone's had with them or if you're currently living at any of their properties now.

I'm just confused what to do cause on the other side I'm getting a Niu Kqi3pro scooter for 500CAD from FBM but I don't wanna go with a scooter but my mind is dicey cause the scooter is decent and reputable but the bike is kinda cheap. Any advice would be appreciated and don't hate me for thinking of getting a scooter I'm just trying to be employed and not burn out at the same time cause I got classes in the morning. Thank you.

Taskeen Caramel Cascade by Paris Corner - Full review! Is it a dupe for Bianco Latte?

As promised, here is the detailed review after 8.5 hours.
I tested Taskeen Caramel Cascade (TCC to make live easier going forward) from 3.30 PM - 12 AM.
  • Official notes: Taken from the Paris Corner Website
  • Top Notes: Caramel. Milk
  • Heart Notes: Tonka Bean, Honey
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, White Musk, Amber
There are many similarities to Bianco Latte by Giardini DI Toscana, but I DO NOT HAVE a sample of that with me to compare TCC with!
  • Category:
Oriental, somehow? Paris Corner, you ok?
Skin Prep:
I wore it on moisturized skin (unscented moisturizer - CeraVe) and applied Vaseline to my pulse points as well. I applied some Al-Rehab Chocomusk oil on my neck and the same pulse points to add some extra yumminess :) I then positively bathed in the TCC - I am an over-sprayer. Nothing below 20 sprays (yeah, you may end up coughing) and this is clothes plus on skin. I layered it with Victoria's secret BARE VANILLA mist as a topper. The combination of TCC + Chocomusk + BV, is mouthwatering! You have to try it!
Initial observations:
  • The initial blast was VERY alcohol rich and burnt my nose, but this was expected.
  • Few seconds into the spraying and the Vanilla came out; it was a rich, creamy and sweet Vanilla. Gourmand lovers, rejoice!
  • A few minutes later is when the namesake Caramel became noticeable. This has a sharper smell in contrast to the vanilla, but in no way was it offensive or harsh. Some may find it a bit synthetic, though.
  • The dry down is musky, sweet and that's where Mr. Tonka bean finally comes through.
Sillage:
  • Moderate sillage with a projection that is intimate.
  • This is not a beast-mode scent, yet. I am going to let it sit for a good 1 month or so before spraying it again.
  • I travelled by bike and when the wind brushed past me, I would get wafts of the perfume even in the dry heat.
  • I went to run some errand from 4 PM- 6 PM and there was some projection.
  • Around the 8 or 9 PM mark is when I noticed that I had to smell my arm or clothes to get a whiff.
  • It completely vanished around the 11.30 - 12 AM mark.
Final Thoughts:
  • What a beautiful and delicate fragrance! A true gourmand that's not cloying, reeking of excessive musk or any over-the-top ,"throw-everything-but the kitchen" sink kind of notes.
  • This is a simple, sweet and delicious fragrance that anyone can enjoy. Yes, gentlemen! I mean you too. Think of this as the sweet touch that you could add to your Orientals or spicy perfumes.
  • This layers nicely with vanillas and caramels. Just avoid the ones that are over the top in the sweetness department. For example: Warm vanilla sugar has too much sugar when compared to TCC but Bare vanilla is perfect.
  • I really wish it lasted longer! I am going to let mine sit for a while and hope it gains potency!
  • It is still on my clothes and my laundry hamper smells AMAZING :)
  • I loved it so much that I immediately bought one as a gift for a friend who is also very fond of caramel perfumes - She loved my SWEET TOOTH CARAMEL DREAM so much that it's almost over. He he he :P
  • This can be a very day-to-day use perfume, totally inoffensive and very pet-friendly. I have a pup and he has issues with some of my perfumes, but not this one.
  • ALLERGY INFORMATION: if anyone has perfume allergies, this WILL break you out. I have allergies and this one has me scratching my arms from time to time. I'm ok, though! (the things I do for reviews !! )
Alrighty then! For the asking price and the scent profile, Taskeen Caramel Cascade is totally worth your coin and attention, IMO, humbly.
Hope you got something from that review!
Till the next one, Adios!

Hi everyone,
I recently got a new bike and don’t plan on getting another one anytime soon. I'm looking for recommendations on upgrades, particularly wheels, tires, and a saddle.
I've read reviews about Superteam wheels and they seem promising, but I'm curious if there are better options at a similar price point. As for tires and a saddle, I have no idea where to start, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!
