2024.05.16 10:30 TheGooseAteMyCheese [TOMT] series of CGI Cartoon Network shorts

In these there were 5 characters 1 little girl and 4 other men I was very little watching these must’ve been 6-8 and even then I could kinda pick up on how the shorts were purposefully trying to look bad, the little girl looked like it was drawn by a preschooler and all there models were 3D, but also completely flat. I can’t remember what the other 4 characters look like I can vaguely remember one being a cartoon whale with a top hat and another being a floating top hat, glasses, and mustache. I can only remember what 1 short was about, the 5 main characters were approached by a 3D character Though in these shorts the 5 main characters were referred to as CGI characters and this new guy was referred to as a 3D character The 3D guy I remember being just a bunch of squiggles with a face on it, the 4 other guys started to educate the little girl on why 3D sucks ass and CGI is good, then the short ends with the 3D guy just going away, I can’t remember what any of the other shorts were about but they must’ve not aired long since I don’t remember there being that many

2024.05.16 07:27 Sad_Ambassador_9595 Leaving marriage with ours baby

How do I go about this? Our daughter is 18 months old, and SS10 (the younger one) absolutely loves her. I don’t like my stepkids that much (I don’t hate them but I wouldn’t miss them if I never saw them again). But I have empathy and can see how damaging this would be. I think we may be divorced before her 2nd birthday. I’ll be moving back with my parents (to finish my degree but also I come from a very communal, family oriented culture where I’m always welcome back at home no matter my age) and they live 3 hours from DH. In my country mothers are favoured so I’ll get primary custody with DH seeing her a max every second weekend. I think he’ll be okay with this because he acknowledges kids do better spending majority of time with one parent majority of the time especially when parents live far away and he sort of mentioned this is what we’d do if we got divorced. It has gotten very bad that we candidly talk about divorce.
Before you call me a bitter BM, I’m not. I’m not doing this to get child support. In fact I don’t even care if I get child support or not, I want to work and provide for my child. I’ve got a business model in mind and will pursue my studies in the meantime too. Also once when DH and I were fighting, he once mentioned we could just divorce, sell our paid off acreage we wanted to build our dream house on, and just go halves on that money. Not my words, they’re his. He’s horrible but considerate, in the sense that he doesn’t want me and our daughter to suffer or go through hardship.
Also, look at my previous posts if you want to see what sort of husband he is. I’ll let you be the judge. Our daughter doesn’t need to be influenced by him or his kids, that’s why I want majority custody. I put what’s best for our daughter first, not my feelings. DH coslept with his kids until they were around 8 or 9, homeschools them but very inconsistently, has no other family for our daughter to see except for his extremely dysfunctional parents who always fight, his kids have zero social skills etc
But yeah how do I leave? Should I leave silently? Like tell him I’m staying at my parents’ house and then message him from there that I’m not coming back? I just really don’t want to see SS10 cry over his sister. Plus, I only want DH to see our daughter when his kids are with BM so that our daughter can get one on one time with DH. Is this cruel? I just feel like there’s no other time for them to get one on one considering I’ll be moving so far away. Our daughter also still nurses through the night so she needs to be with me. Then she will start preschool and school eventually and therefore cannot do 50/50. So having read some of my previous posts, how should I go about leaving? Upfront or in silence? Or I’m thinking upfront but when the stepkids are with their mother? But then I think of how sad they’ll be to come home to no sister, and then dh will blame me. I think he should just blame himself for driving me away. For heavens sake he allows his kids to criticise me if they’re right. He disciplines them when they’re rude. But if he thinks they’re telling the truth and criticising me for the right reasons, then it’s okay. So he has effectively driven me away.
But yeah I feel horrible. I beat myself up everyday for choosing such a weird, horrid father for my daughter who is the light of my life

2024.05.15 20:40 ineedsleep0808 Tantrums with just mom?

Hello. I am struggling with my five year old son. For some context, I am recently diagnosed with ADHD so I am medicated and in therapy.
My son just turned five in April. He is in his second year of preschool. We started him in preschool at the age of three because he needed speech therapy. He is in a classroom with a mix of model students along with students who need extra support. He receives speech therapy once a week. He does have a teacher in there who is an intervention teacher.
We had parent/teacher conferences back in February and we received nothing but glowing reports about our son. I spoke again with the intervention teacher because I am having such a difficult time with my son at home and I even asked her if she sees any signs of ADHD. She reports that she doesn’t see anything.
With me, the mom, he is very defiant. He does not listen. He throws fits all day long. He constantly antagonizes his younger sister to the point where she is constantly whining and crying. It’s getting to the point where I don’t want to be around him.
I have talked to the intervention teacher regarding his behavior and she suggested making a chart of what he should expect every morning and what to expect after school. I have made the chart for after school and his behavior after school has improved. I should note he goes to preschool in the afternoon so our mornings are free. The thing is, each morning is going to be a little different because there are mornings where we will go to the grocery or go to the park or just hang out at home.
Today was a hang out at home kind of morning. My daughter was still sleeping and my son was up watching tv. I took the opportunity to take a shower and finally wash my hair. My son was talking about how this one kid in his class has this certain kind of pokemon card and how he wanted one just like it. I said maybe you can ask him where he got it from and my son said he didn’t want to ask him and got upset and how he wanted to go to Target and buy pokemon cards. I was calm and explained to him that we aren’t going to buy any pokemon cards and I gave him a hug and he let me hug for quite awhile. He asked again about buying pokemon cards and I had to say no again and then he proceeded to threaten me that if I don’t buy him pokemon cards that he was going to yell and scream to wake up his sister and while he was saying this he was actually starting to yell louder and louder to wake her up. At the same time while he was throwing this fit, for some insane reason, he pulls down his pants to expose himself. After I had remained calm for so long, I would say about ten minutes, I finally snapped. I yelled about what he was doing was inappropriate. Of course he cried and I had to walk away because I was furious. All I wanted to do wash to shower and wash my hair and I couldn’t even do that without some kind of tantrum.
There was just last week where we had a zoo date with some friends and he wanted to ride the carousel but we were running out of time so I said next time we can ride it. He got upset of course and was constantly trying to put the break on the stroller while I was walking. I finally had to wave my friend on and said I needed to sit down and talk to my son. We had a talk and my son was able to calm down after a while. While we were leaving and while we were in the parking lot my son said he hopes I get hit by a car. I was flabbergasted that he would even say something like this.
Another time I was driving to get ice cream and had to make a detour to another ice cream place and he got upset and took his shoe off and threw it at me while I was driving.
Typing this out makes it look like I’m the one who has a hard time controlling him but there are things I just have to do- shower, feed and make food for everyone, get dressed, clean up, etc where I don’t have time to police him. Lately he has been threatening me with if you don’t let me have this then I’m going to get a popsicle or something he knows he’s not allowed to have at that time.
The thing is, my husband doesn’t think he has ADHD. He thinks he is being a normal kid and says if there was an issue that the teachers would have said something. My husband knows the shenanigans that goes down because I will text him over and over about it.
I have calm down areas on each level of our house. I have pictures of things to do to calm down that the teacher has sent home. With me, I have to pick him up or forcibly walk my son to the calm down area and he knows what to do bc they practice those things at school and is familiar with the pictures I posted up.
He does not act this bad for my husband. He does push the boundaries with him but he isn’t as defiant.
I have mentioned ADHD to the pediatrician and they said to wait til he’s six or seven years old or when he starts having trouble academically or socially.
I am starting a parenting group through a local hospital that specializes in ADHD but that doesn’t begin until June.
I feel like my son unmasks in front of me and puts on a mask in front of my husband and teachers. I know my son is comfortable with me, I am his mom but it doesn’t take away from the exhaustion. I used to miss my son while he was away at school even though it was a few hours but now I dread him coming home. This is going to be a long summer without the help of school.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading.

2024.05.14 20:50 __sunshine__daydream Mature Female Attire

I am a 35f with a one year old son. I am very active and relatively fit. I love hiking, yoga, working out, and biking. I consider myself a fun and playful person despite being a mother and approaching middle age.
As I got ready for a bike ride/outdoor workout yesterday I put on my black athletic shorts, a bright and fun bathing suit top that I wore as a sports bra, Birkenstocks, and a bucket hat. I wondered to myself.. do I look silly?
I often wear athletic clothing that can be tight and usually my midriff is showing. For going out I will wear high waisted jeans or flare pants and a low cut top or a flowy dress. I love colorful, fun jewelry and accessories. Recently I have been super into Billabong, O’Neil, and Roxy.. brands I wore as a teenager! I love boho/beach clothes and believe the 60s/70s and the 90s are timeless in regards to fashion.
My question is.. do you think women over 30 should dress a certain way? Do you think mothers should dress a certain way? Is it cringy when you see mature women wearing styles that may be viewed as youthful?
I remember seeing make over shows as a kid where women were ridiculed for having an outdated style or dressing too provocative for their age. Was this just early 2000s bullshit? (Keep in mind this was during a time where Tyra Banks was telling size 6 women they were plus size models.) Am I going to embarrass my son one day by being too funky or showing too much skin? Or is this all just societal constructs?
Edit: Love what someone said about reading the room. I absolutely cover up for professional events or funerals. I am also a preschool teacher so I do dress modest for work (imagine Miss Lippy).

At Eden Castle Preschool, we understand the importance of fostering a well-rounded and nurturing environment for your toddlers. One of the valuable practices we implement at our Pre-School is “quiet time,” or “Bye-Bye” time during dispersal, which offers numerous benefits for your child’s development. In this blog post, we’ll explore the advantages of quiet time for toddlers and provide guidance on how parents can establish this beneficial routine at home.
Rest and Recharge
Toddlers are full of boundless energy, and at Eden Castle Preschool, we believe that allowing them time to rest and recharge is essential for their overall well-being. Quiet time provides a structured break during their day, allowing them to rejuvenate both physically and emotionally.
Emotional Regulation
Quiet time also plays a significant role in helping toddlers learn to regulate their emotions. By offering a calm and soothing environment, we help children reduce feelings of frustration or overwhelm, fostering emotional resilience.
Cognitive Development
During quiet time, toddlers engage in independent play, which is essential for cognitive development. At Eden Castle Preschool, we provide age-appropriate toys and activities that enhance their cognitive skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
Language Development
Quiet time encourages toddlers to explore books and engage in solitary activities that stimulate language development. Exposure to new words and ideas during this time supports their growing vocabulary.
Routine and Predictability
Establishing a consistent quiet time routine at Eden Castle Preschool offers children a sense of security and predictability in their daily lives, promoting a stable and comfortable learning environment.

2024.05.14 15:04 makoons_preschool Success Stories: Insights from Owners of Makoons Play School Franchises

The ascent to educational entrepreneurship is a path not often taken lightly. The pillars of play school establishment are grounded in fostering the foundation of future innovators, creators, and leaders. For those who venture into the world of educational franchise, success is rooted in a rare blend of vision, execution, and pedagogy that resonates beyond the classroom. Makoons Preschool is a beacon of exemplary success in this domain, where each franchisee’s tale is a testament to the brand’s ethos and individual pursuit of excellence.
Here, we shine a light on the journeys of Makoons Kids School franchise owners. Their narrative underscores the essence of educational investment and community building. For entrepreneurs looking to make a meaningful foray into the preschool sector, these insights offer a compass, guiding you to chart a course toward your aspirations.

Empowering Entrepreneurs in Education

Entrepreneurship in education is a distinctive pursuit, woven from threads of aspiration and societal impact. Makoons Preschool has championed this cause by empowering individuals to build not just a business, but a sanctuary of learning and personal development.

The Vision that Sparks a Venture

The collective experience of over a decade in setting up bespoke nurseries tailored for each child’s unique identity is the foundational stone of the Makoons legacy. A visionary approach, catering to holistic growth through a comprehensive curriculum, has been pivotal in stirring entrepreneurship in education.

Nurturing a Growth Mindset

At the heart of Makoons philosophy lies the belief that the role of education extends beyond mere instruction; it is the catalyst for intelligence development. This mindset has permeated the venture strategies of its franchise owners, igniting a spirit of continuous learning and adaptation in the often-stagnant realm of play school education.
The trajectory of success for small franchise businesses in India is vividly illustrated through the expanding network of Makoons Preschool, a testament to how localized businesses can thrive on a national scale through dedication and an evolved educational ethos.

Cultivating a Community of Learning

Teaching is a communal enterprise, and Makoons franchisees understand the importance of fostering a familial environment within their establishments. The tactile and emotional investments in community building have been fundamental in the replication of the brand’s core values in each franchise.

Music, Art, and the Masters of Tomorrow

Makoons pupils are not just children; they are the composers of their operas, the artists of their exhibits, and the budding scholars ready to thread their tapestries of knowledge. The curriculum instills a fine blend of the arts with science, technology, literacy, and numeracy, ensuring a holistic developmental experience.

The Prep School Push

Success is often measured in the milestones achieved, and for Makoons alumni, that translates to a seamless transition into primary education. The playschool serves as a preparatory ground for the rigors of formal schooling, ensuring that the children maintain their love for learning as they become responsible members of a broader social fabric.

A Spectrum of Supportive Staff

In the orchestration of a successful play school, it is the staff that sets the tempo. The dedicated team behind the Makoons franchisees forms the bedrock of the institution, offering a nurturing environment that is second only to a parent’s care.

Knowledge, Dedication, and Enthusiasm

The staff at Makoons are not just educators; they are mentors, guardians, and confidants. Their mastery of the curriculum is exceeded only by the warmth and love they provide, creating a harmonious environment that encourages each child’s self-confidence and introspective exploration.

Gateway to Growth and Responsibility

The staff’s pedagogical competence extends to more than just academics; they are sculptors of character, guiding the youngsters to realize their full potential while instilling the values of compassion and social responsibility.

The Franchise Investment and Future Prospects

Investing in a Makoons franchise is akin to sowing the seeds of a perennial plant — a venture that promises longevity and stability. 2024.05.12 19:32 blurryhippo7390 I don’t feel serious enough as a mother

This is my second Mother’s Day, and I still mostly feel insecure as a mom. My own mother is and was very immature and uninvolved. She did “ok” by my brother and I in that we both did well academically (though could have been much better given some guidance and stability, and if we weren’t surrounded by drugs and alcohol), but I often feel like I am lacking a quintessential seriousness / motherlyness/ sense of responsibility towards my kid. Even my voice sounds like I’m 14, in my mind. I see wealthier mothers with strict schedules, who are extremely on top of how they speak to and around their children, and feel utterly immature around them, like I ooze teenager by comparison. My brain knows this is silly and probably not true, but I’ve found myself emulating these other mothers as I try to figure out what being a responsible mother and good role model is supposed to look like. These other mothers seem to have a formula for ensuring their kids are always clean and busy with some enrichment activity (but seriously how are their kids clothes always so clean and their hair so perfect?! Step 1 for my kid is playing with dirt when they leave the house, and not a chance will she let me clip or tie her hair).
Has anyone else gone through this? I’m 36 and feel like a teenage mom. It doesn’t help that I’m not as financially stable as I thought I’d be at this age (I’m in NYC, where two parents despite making six figures still live check to check due to the high costs of childcare and rent). I keep wondering how to change my life to feel more like an adult, but also just how to embody the archetype of an adult / mother. I sacrifice a lot for my kid, I don’t party, I have a great job and a high level of education. Is it my 10y old skinny jeans and torn purses that I haven’t replaced because I’m trying to save up for preschool supplies? Is it that I have no time to style my hair or put on makeup (or no $ to get haircuts or buy makeup)? Does looking more adult make one feel more adult?
I know it’s not just wealth - I see immigrant families who are struggling way more than I am, they all look more put together than I ever feel I could. How do they find the time? How are they so confident in their motherness? Is it learned from family?
Feeling really lost this Mother’s Day.
Edit: Thank you all so much for the kind words and reality checks. Sometimes it’s so overwhelming and I know that not comparing myself to others is the first step to finding my vibe, as one of you said. So much good advice, it will take some time for me to reply to everyone but I really appreciate it all.

2024.05.10 08:59 aligaterr Whats your favorite machine brand?

TL;DR: What brand of sewing/quilting machine should I buy? Budget is small. I want to do light quilting and sewing.
I am at a loss for what kind of machine to buy. I borrowed a friend’s brother JV1400 to make a tiny quilt for my daughter as a comfort item to take to preschool since she was having a hard time. I quickly realised how much I loved sewing and want to get back into it…. and also quickly realised the difference between a very cheap hobby machine and my mother’s Bernina I grew up sewing on. So now i’m at a loss for which to buy for myself. My mom advised against brother machines but i’ve noticed they seem quite popular here…… So also wondering if they’ve gotten better over the years? Anyways. Any and all advice would be very much appreciated :)
I am in Singapore where prices vary drastically as do available models so most of my research for specific models hasn’t helped me too much. Thus more advice on a reliable brand would be most helpful :)

2024.05.09 20:49 lightly_lightly Single parent relocating to NYC.. am I crazy ?

I am a mid 30’s single parent to a 4 year old and considering relocating to NYC . No restrictions on moving, etc as my child’s father relinquished his rights a few years ago. I was accepted to a grad school program at NYU to start in the fall. I’m prior military and have the GI bill that will cover all of my tuition and a housing stipend about $4000/month. I currently own a townhome in Houston -2.5% interest rate, prime location in the city. I could rent or sell easily. I also get about $2000 monthly from VA disability.
I would have to quit my job here in Houston and move away from family and obviously do something with my house. I really want to pursue this opportunity though as my life post Army has been pretty stagnant here in Houston the last 3 years and I’ve changed jobs a couple times but just not really finding the right thing. I’m a nurse with plenty of part time or full time job opportunities anywhere I go.(I have my NY RN license as I intended to move there years ago but didn’t) Ultimately I would really like to get out of nursing and I feel this is my opportunity to do that and go back to school(law/health policy) , network, have more opportunities for internships/jobs. There are other reasons I want to leave Texas (my kid’s education, state politics, insane heat 8 months of the year) so my family is really the only thing keeping me here.
I’m on the fence about uprooting my son. My family is all here in Houston and I worry that he will be sad and miss his family and that he will not have the male role models if we move away. We’ve made friends/acquaintances here through his preschool and the neighborhood park so I’m thinking in NYC ,I would be able to find community that way as well.
I should hear back in a couple weeks whether I got a spot in family housing(near Greenwich Village) . And if so, I think I might jump on it and make the move.
I know this is a personal decision for me and nobody here can make it for me. But I guess my questions are… How likely is it that I will find community in NYC? Has anyone enjoyed/hated raising their kids in the city? Those of you who have left home /moved to NYC, how has it worked out for you and how is life now compared to what it was before? Am I being stupid/selfish/unrealistic thinking I could make this work?

Why Storytelling and Reading Aloud Matter in Preschool Education?

https://preview.redd.it/0z206u8sqdzc1.jpg?width=895&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab7735ddbd8d48495e64d47b6346e706c30d9a41

Storytelling and reading aloud play a pivotal role in shaping a child’s early developmental years, particularly during the preschool stage. This article explores the multifaceted benefits of incorporating storytelling and reading aloud in the lives of preschoolers in California and beyond. Beyond mere entertainment, these age-old practices offer a wealth of advantages that lay a strong foundation for a child’s intellectual, emotional, and social growth.

Enhancing Language Development in Preschoolers

Building Vocabulary Through Storytelling

One of the fundamental benefits of storytelling and reading aloud is their significant impact on a child’s language development. As preschoolers listen to stories, they encounter a diverse range of words, phrases, and expressions, gradually expanding their vocabulary. This exposure not only enhances their language skills but also paves the way for improved communication throughout their lives.

Improving Listening and Comprehension Skills

Through active listening during storytelling sessions, preschoolers develop essential comprehension skills. They learn to follow narratives, understand different perspectives, and grasp complex concepts. These listening skills form the bedrock of effective communication and critical thinking in the future.

Cultivating Imagination and Creativity

Engaging with Imaginative Worlds

Storytelling serves as a gateway to magical realms, far-off lands, and fantastical adventures, firing up a preschooler’s imagination. By immersing themselves in these imaginative worlds, children can explore creativity, original thinking, and problem-solving abilities, fostering an imaginative spirit that stays with them as they grow.

Encouraging Creative Expression

In addition to engaging with tales of wonder, preschoolers also benefit from opportunities to creatively express themselves. When children are encouraged to narrate their stories or act out characters from books, they develop self-confidence and a sense of individuality.

Promoting Cognitive and Emotional Development

Developing Cognitive Skills

Storytelling and reading aloud stimulate various cognitive domains, including memory, reasoning, and logical thinking. As preschoolers connect with the characters and plotlines, they make mental associations, strengthening their cognitive abilities and cognitive flexibility. Preschools in Sunnyvale, California conduct such storytelling activities to promote skill development in kids.

Fostering Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence is crucial in understanding and managing emotions. By encountering diverse emotions portrayed in stories, preschoolers learn empathy, compassion, and emotional expression. This emotional development enables them to build healthier relationships and navigate emotional challenges.

Strengthening the Bond Between Parents and Children

Quality Time and Emotional Connection

Storytelling and reading-aloud sessions create precious moments of quality time between parents and preschoolers. As families come together to share stories, they build strong emotional bonds and a sense of security that contributes to a child’s emotional well-being.

Parental Role in Early Literacy

Parents play a crucial role in fostering a love for books and learning. When parents actively engage in reading aloud, they model the joy of reading and encourage children to view books as sources of delight and knowledge.

Boosting Academic Readiness

Preparing Preschoolers for School Success

Storytelling and reading aloud provide a strong foundation for academic readiness. As children encounter various words, sentence structures, and ideas, they develop essential pre-reading and pre-writing skills that make the transition to formal education smoother.

Improving Concentration and Focus

Engaging with stories requires active attention, enhancing a child’s concentration and focus. These skills are vital not only for academic pursuits but also for success in other areas of life.

Fostering a Love for Books and Learning

Creating Lifelong Readers

Storytelling and reading aloud spark a love for books and reading that can last a lifetime. Preschoolers who experience the joy of storytelling are more likely to grow into enthusiastic readers as they mature.

Making Learning Enjoyable

When learning is intertwined with storytelling, it becomes enjoyable and engaging. This positive association with learning motivates preschoolers to explore new subjects and topics with enthusiasm.

Overcoming Technological Overload

Balancing Screen Time with Reading Aloud

In today’s digital age, striking a balance between screen time and reading aloud is crucial. Storytelling sessions provide a technology-free space for children to disconnect from screens and connect with their imagination.

Developing Critical Thinking Skills

When listening to stories, preschoolers are encouraged to think critically and analyze the plot, characters, and outcomes. This analytical thinking fosters problem-solving skills from a young age.

Creating Lasting Memories

The Impact of Shared Stories

The stories shared during preschool years create cherished memories for both parents and children. These shared experiences strengthen the family bond and become treasured memories for a lifetime.

Stories as Cherished Keepsakes

Books and stories that hold sentimental value become keepsakes that families can pass down through generations, preserving their legacy.

Incorporating Storytelling and Reading Aloud in Early Education

Educators can incorporate storytelling and reading aloud into the preschool curriculum, making it an integral part of early education. To make storytelling sessions more interactive and captivating, educators and parents can employ various techniques and engaging activities.
In conclusion, storytelling and reading aloud in preschoolers offer a plethora of advantages, touching every aspect of their holistic development. From enhancing language skills and nurturing creativity to fostering emotional intelligence and preparing for academic success, these simple practices wield transformative power in a child’s life. Parents, educators, and caregivers should recognize the immense value of storytelling and reading aloud, ensuring that the tradition continues to flourish, benefiting countless young minds for generations to come.
Enroll in the top preschool in California to provide a nurturing environment for your preschooler’s early education.

2024.05.09 10:39 ThrwyStuckExhausted I think that’s it

I got arrested for a DUI a couple of weeks ago. I seriously thought I was under the legal limit since I had 3 drinks in 3 hours. I have no prior anything. This ironically was my second time going to a restaurant and eating and drinking with my husband in a 3 year period since we have young kids.
Now I think about all the misinformation I was given. I was told in bartending classes and by my family that your body takes 45 minutes - 1 hour to metabolize the alcohol before you’re okay to drive. Apparently that isn’t a cut and dry answer, and obviously not true for everyone. Had I known, I would have made different choices.
I take responsibility for what I did, but I can’t live with the long-term implications of my choice. I have been looking for a job for over a year now and haven’t been able to find one. Now I certainly won’t find one.
My marriage isn’t great. After this situation happened, my husband got drunk the following night and pointed out how worthless I am. I have only been called worthless one other time in my life, over a decade ago by my mother, and since that happened I have really tried to make sure I wasn’t. It really hurt.
I feel like I don’t deserve to be a mom after this happened. I feel like my kids would be better off without me as a role model. I have a temp license right now and my eldest is always so sad we can’t do the fun stuff we normally do. I’ve been taking them to the park and on bike rides; he knows though. He started crying because the one day I couldn’t drive him to preschool and he really didn’t want his dad to take him. I can’t imagine them seeing me get interlock…
I have had a really hard time since covid. I had spent a good chunk of time making positive changes to my life and I really thought everything was going to get good for me. I really thought I was going to be a good parent and a good person all around. Now I have health problems, I’m unemployed, my husband doesn’t like me, I am struggling doing 24 hour childcare, and honestly I don’t like me.

https://preview.redd.it/188npqyckczc1.png?width=2160&format=png&auto=webp&s=93bf63ae1f53587f276b03d6a097f9348ffc30dc
In the competitive landscape, AITO's M5 and M7 models are proving to be strong contenders against Li, capturing 40% and 38% of the comparison market share respectively. Not far behind, Tesla's Model Y, with its status as last year's global best-selling SUV, holds a significant 37% share, making it another popular choice for benchmarking.
With the Li L6 off the table, the Li L7 and Tesla Model Y emerged as the top alternative choices for most survey participants. The AITO M5 and M7 also ranked as potential substitutes, with the M5 slightly more favored, suggesting these models are quite attractive to consumers. It's particularly noteworthy that the BYD Tang DM-i's consideration rate matches that of the AITO M7, signifying its relevance among prospective buyers. Moreover, 3% of the respondents stated they would hold off on buying any car in the near future if the L6 isn't available.

When it comes to making car-buying decisions, 54% of those who pre-ordered the Li L6 said they only hesitated briefly before quickly placing their orders. Another 24% took some time to decide as they weighed their options against competitors. A decisive 18% of customers placed their orders without any second thoughts. Only a small fraction waited for feedback from the first batch of buyers, a testament to the solid reputation built by the Li L789 in the past.
https://preview.redd.it/zawvm7gekczc1.png?width=2160&format=png&auto=webp&s=29c41058eb6f1203565397d087494ffb90a4e553
The smart cockpit is central to the evolution of intelligent vehicles, a fact that was distinctly highlighted in the research findings, with a notable 59% of participants showing a preference for it. Other aspects that impact the sensory experience, such as the exterior styling, spatial configuration, and interior design, as well as autonomous driving features, were also popular choices among respondents. The driving range, a critical metric for electric vehicles, garnered a 35% preference rate. Moreover, Li's range-extending technology has emerged as a significant draw for consumers.
It appears that government incentives and the cost of ownership are not the primary concerns for those surveyed, suggesting that these aspects are less influential in the decision-making process of purchasing a car. While safety features and product quality are considered important, with a selection rate of only 24%, it seems consumers are more inclined to prioritize tangible, immediately noticeable attributes and functionalities when choosing a vehicle.
https://preview.redd.it/2r6n7hzekczc1.png?width=2160&format=png&auto=webp&s=512bf0b0988acd1b997a8d2b07d6e9b3ee460f75
Before its official launch, the Li L6 garnered considerable attention from potential buyers with its pre-launch teasers highlighting the car's exterior and interior designs. Survey results reveal that the exterior styling and interior design of the Li L6 piqued the interest of 57% and 56% of participants, respectively. These figures suggest that the Li L6 has made a significant impact in the market with its design excellence.
In addition, aspects such as the vehicle’s space and the intelligent cabin are areas of interest for consumers, albeit to a slightly lesser extent compared to the exterior styling and interior design. This information indicates that when selecting a vehicle, consumers place importance on both aesthetic appeal and the practical and technological attributes of the car.
https://preview.redd.it/gy3z8llfkczc1.png?width=2160&format=png&auto=webp&s=25ce2fcca72c4b1bb97a148d895c9872f516b290
The research report revealed that 16% of the participants expressed certain compromises or areas of dissatisfaction, with the primary concerns being the absence of air suspension, pricing exceeding their expectations, and the lack of massage features in the rear seats, among others.

Brand Perception

Survey participants commonly view "intelligence," "technology," and "comfort" as standout attributes of the Li brand. Despite a few negative associations like "aggressive marketing" and "bulky size," the overall sentiment from those who have pre-ordered is predominantly favorable. This suggests that the Li brand's reputation among consumers is largely shaped by the positive perception of its products' smart features, technological innovation, and comfort.
Li L6's initial buyers have expressed strong satisfaction with the vehicle, praising its standout performance in areas like exterior styling, ride comfort, practicality, smart technology, and value for money. This wave of positive feedback underscores the high level of overall contentment among owners with the Li L6.

2024.05.06 19:55 sarerics Micro Mini Scooters advice

My tall & active 2.5 year old has a Micro Mini scooter. I would like to use it for our commute to preschool -- This involves her scooting for a mile to school, then me hopping on a train to work (carrying the scooter & helmet). I should have done more research on the scooter before buying, because the scooter doesn't fold & it doesn't have light up wheels, both of which seem useful for commuting.
Given she's so tall, I'd hate to buy another of the small ones just to replace again soon. So, questions for owners of the Micro scooter:
  1. Any tips for carrying the non-foldable one? Is it as big of a pain as it seems, or will just putting a strap on it be good enough?
  2. Is there any reason to not just buy the one for 5+ year olds now (this seems to have more options than the 2 year old one)? Is it just a difference in height, or are there other things that aren't suitable for young child? Daughter is 38 inches at 2.5 years old (99th percentile in height).
  3. Any recommendations for carry straps or bags for any of the micro models (ideally something fully enclosed, cuz I'd rather not have my workplace know me as the woman who rides a child’s scooter to work!)

2024.05.06 17:01 GreyZQJ Help me with a childcare decision please

I am considering switching my (just turned) 2-year-olds daycare placement and would love some input. Edit: my oldest will be going to school so the same drop off location isn’t a factor!
Currently she is in an inhome daycare that she has been in since we went back to work. My oldest went there until she tuned four, and then she went to the preschool we are considering. On a personal level, I absolutely love her provider. My daughters love her, too. She has become my friend, I trust her, and I consider her like family.
The biggest benefit is that I know that my daughter feels loved here, and that is super important to me. She is well taken care of, well fed, and I know she loves this provider. She can’t wait to go to her in the morning. Some of the negatives are less structure, there are 8 kids, the tv is on a lot, and the kids who are there have some behavioral problems. My daughter really has no positive kid role models at this daycare, if that makes sense.
My dilemma has come about because I had a hard time getting my four year old into the preschool she currently goes to. I tried when she was three, but they were full. I had to enroll her in summer sessions to then segue into a possible spot for the school year and it worked out. I have been so happy with her time at the preschool. They are truly great. Because my oldest goes there now, we have preference placement for the two’s classroom.
I wasn’t planning on moving my youngest just yet, but I feel like she would be more enriched socially and cognitively at the preschool. There would be less closures (the inhome provider takes two weeks personal vacation and there have been times she has had to close due to illnesses or family matters of her own—which I totally understand but it is inconvenient for us because we don’t have help). And I do feel like she could be happy there, too. The teacher ratio is about the same. I love this place also because there hasn’t been any teacher turnover. The teachers really love it. They don’t do screen time, and they go on field trips and have a philosophy I really like for learning.
I also am hoping the transition to the preschool would be easier because she is familiar with the place right now (she picks up her sibling with me daily and sees the building and teachers). My oldest will not be there next year as she is starting school.
Ultimately, I want my daughter to go here for preschool. I am just worried that she’s too young right now and I would be taking her away from someone she loves to move her into a different environment.
Any thoughts are appreciated. I have to make a decision soon so I can ensure a spot and let her current provider know what our plans are. Cost and commute are not factors for the decision!
