2024.05.18 19:37 Prodigy829 O2 Data Roaming Question

We live in Germany and have O2 for our cell service. Whenever we go to a EU country we get texts that tell us we get 65.1 GB data roaming, and then will be charged 1.85€ per GB after.
We are currently in Italy for 2 weeks, so I was curious if this was 65GB per day? or per month? or what? The message wasn’t clear.
If it will help, here is the original message:
We as a family do use a lot of data, especially since we are driving alot and the kids stream entertainment.
Anyone have experience with this? would it be better to get Italian sim cards with unlimited data?

Looking at a Japanese 2017 c63s
Planning on purchasing this car in the next few days. However this is the first time I’ll be buying a Japanese car, what due diligence seems appropriate for this type of car?

2024.05.18 16:06 Downtown-Database192 Market Updates

As per a market veteran, greed is at every level. There is greed with F&O traders, hedge funds and exchanges facing M/W/D expiry. Since greed at such expiries are natural, why blame hedge funds for our actions and losses? It is wrong to blame others for our failure to understand the risks of F&O trading. If retail investors don't know the tricks of trading, they should simply step aside and do nothing. Volatility on expiry day is a given fact. One should know how to play against the big sharks or else stay away from F&O trading. We just create excuses for our failure in understanding the terms of business and the risks involved as everyone is addicted to F&O trading despite the huge losses. It is impossible for them to control their greed. Interpreting the right direction on expiry day is a must if one has to survive the volatility in the markets.
As per a market veteran, when market is on its peak, avoid tip and rumor-based trading, as there are chances of getting trapped. Do your own research for every company you choose to invest in. Follow very strictly the single rule allocation - not more than 7-9% of the portfolio in a single stock even if the promoter says so. Do not trade if the concept of the trade is not clear in your mind. Till 4th June, there will be wild volatile swings both ways. But if you have taken a trade without having the clear concept, you will get trapped.
As per a market veteran, never sell your winners to average out your losers! Otherwise, the day is not far when you will end up having a bunch of losers only! Bull markets are like marathons. Those who run it know the importance of consistency and discipline. People expect calamities and catastrophic in steady bull markets. So invest energy to develop patience and face them. Ride the tide and don’t time the ride.

2024.05.18 16:05 Downtown-Database192 Market Updates

5 Excellent Money Making Websites to Use in 2024

https://preview.redd.it/v0oae1gbwy0d1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=c7e4b341f4d3cc306763f4fcc52d25c662d23d25
Sitting without work in 2024 is irresponsible and, frankly, not fun at all! We decided to put together a list of five great places to find work and make money in 2024.
Note that for all services mentioned below, you can create an account with a virtual phone number from Grizzly SMS for just a couple of cents! It is a cheap way of staying safe and anonymous while working from home.

#1. Create an Upwork account without a phone number

Upwork is a global corporation that has been around since at least 2015. Upwork claims that their freelancers reach up to $5,380 in gross sales value on average. It has over 793 thousand clients and enjoys dense online traffic with at least 40 million visits monthly. If you are a professional looking for work online, it is the best place to look for good projects.

#2. Make a Fiver account with a virtual phone number

Fiverr is a relatively new player in the sector internationally, but it has been offering services since 2010 locally, in Israel and the Middle East. The company requires its users to verify their identity using an SMS verification process and a meticulous vetting system to prevent unqualified freelancers from accessing the service.
e platform is known for its user-friendly interface allowing people without much technical know-how to access it without issues. Fiverr is often positioned as a great place for newcomers to start.

#3. Amazon — more than just a side hustle

If you want to become independent and build a business that has a global reach, you should think about opening a store on Amazon. Some people don’t have to pay anything and use drop shipping as their main way of making money on the platform.

#4. Amazon Mechanical Turk is a great gig

If you have some free time on your hands and think that you can perform simple tasks quickly and efficiently, Amazon Mechanical Turk is a good place to make money quickly. The platform allows users to complete very simple “mechanical” tasks like image recognition, data entry, text recognition, and more to earn a couple of cents per task. It does not seem like much, but scale matters!

#5. TaskRabbit is the ultimate side gig

In the current economy, many people are using Uber Eats and Drive to make money by providing transportation, but you can do chores for money even without a car, although having one would help. The website connects users with freelancers who are willing to do some basic tasks like grocery shopping, courier deliveries, and anything else you might need.

War on Drugs, kansloze rechtse hobby

2024.05.18 05:24 everettcalverton Corporate has made it impossible to use Starbucks as a side hustle.

I worked at Starbucks for over 3 years, from 2020 to 2023. For that entire time, I had a full time job during the week and only ever worked the Saturday and Sunday opening shifts at the Bux. I had (mostly) great coworkers and amazing, understanding SMs and ASMs who always approved my time off requests and understood that Starbucks was NOT my main priority and my main job and life outside of work would always come first. However, I gave this job my all during the 12 hours per week I was at work. I was one of my store’s best and fastest bar partners and called out maybe three times during those three years. When I left Starbucks around this past Thanksgiving, it was because the customers had just become so overwhelmingly rude and entitled, and I realized I didn’t want to deal with that anymore.
However, I recently moved to a smaller town that has only one store, and the customers seem a lot more chill and polite. The partners all also seem to be genuinely enjoying their jobs whenever I’m in there. Since I do miss my extra “fun money” from my 3 years as a partner, I applied to work at that store and had an interview with the SM pretty soon after. Even though I felt it went really well, I was told today that I didn’t get the job because corporate/the DM wants stores to have as few partners working as many hours as possible. Because I can only work weekends, I would be a waste of a limited partner spot. This store can only have 14 partners, and they’re almost all full time. So…the days of people being able to use Starbucks as a second job are over? You have to dedicate all of your time to the siren or you can’t work there? Anyway, rant over. I’ll go tutor people for the GRE, I guess.

2024.05.17 19:36 pogball2work Thoughts on why Visible has not shipped my sim, it has now been over a week.

Last Wednesday I opened my account and the screen said it would ship in 2-3 days. I had heard nothing. Yesterday I messaged with the chat support. Over a 10 min period, huge lags in responds from them, I was given the tracking number. Once I got to the USPS site with the tracking number, it indicates that it still has not shipped. I ask over chat if there was something wrong with my account or if I needed to do something, they said 'no'.
I am not sure what is going on. Do they not have any sims to ship? Is it that I am a Verizon customer and they are trying to prevent me from moving to their lower cost product line?
Let me know if others have experienced this or have suggestions on how to make progress with moving to Visible.
Update: It seems the Verizon is making it difficult or impossible for us to move to Visible. Just found out a minute ago that yesterday after I messaged with Visible on their site, my wife (listed as the account owner) received a sms from Verizon about lowering our bill by $10 per line.
Unfortunately, after messaging with Byron here on Reddit, all that could happen is that it was 'escalated'. Sigh. Just found mint mobile and am creating an account and starting the process to move there. Does Verizon think that this will allow them to keep customers??

Understanding Reservations

When comparing Hostfully pricing with Airbnb fees, hosts must understand the nuances of reservations. Airbnb charges hosts a service fee ranging from 14-16% on each booking, impacting overall earnings.
To optimize revenue, hosts should strategically adjust their pricing to account for Airbnb's service fee. By setting competitive rates while considering cleaning fees and other charges, hosts can attract guests without compromising profitability.

Managing Cancellation Policies

Hosts using Hostfully need to grasp Airbnb's cancellation policy to mitigate potential financial losses. Different cancellation policies, such as strict or flexible, influence the amount refunded to guests in case of cancellations.
By selecting an appropriate cancellation policy aligned with their business goals, hosts can safeguard their income and reputation. Effective communication with guests regarding cancellation terms is crucial for maintaining positive reviews and trust.

Enhancing Traffic Sources

Diversifying traffic sources can help hosts reduce dependency on Airbnb and minimize associated fees. By leveraging multiple platforms like VRBO or Booking.com, hosts can reach a broader audience and decrease reliance on a single source.
Strategically optimizing listings across various platforms ensures consistent bookings and revenue streams. Hosts should monitor bounce rates and performance metrics to identify effective traffic sources and allocate resources accordingly.

Exploring Host Service Fees

Host Fees Overview

Hostfully, a popular platform for managing vacation rentals, charges host service fees to cover the costs of providing services to hosts. These fees typically range from 3% to 5% of the booking subtotal.

Comparison with Other Platforms

When comparing host service fees across different vacation rental platforms like Airbnb and Vrbo, Hostfully's fees are relatively lower, making it an attractive option for hosts looking to maximize their earnings.
  • Hostfully: 3% to 5%
  • Airbnb: Up to 14.2%
  • Vrbo: Up to 12%

Managing Service Fees Effectively

To optimize their earnings, hosts can employ strategies such as adjusting nightly rates to offset service fees or offering discounts for longer stays. By understanding the fee structures of various platforms, hosts can make informed decisions to maximize profitability.

2024.05.17 10:46 Full_Advertising82 What affects the prices of internet in Africa?

Recently, I traveled from Cameroon 🇨🇲 to Uganda 🇺🇬 and then to Rwanda 🇷🇼. I noticed significant differences in internet prices across these countries.
In Cameroon 🇨🇲, we had an ISP called Blue by Camtel. It wasn't very fast, but the plans were affordable. For example, I used to buy an unlimited plan for 3,000 CFA (approximately $6) for 30 days. It wasn't fast, but I could watch Netflix shows, low-quality YouTube videos, and use Spotify.
When I arrived in Uganda 🇺🇬, the prices were much higher. I used an Airtel plan that cost 30,000 UGX (approximately $8) for 12 GB, which last 30 days. I found myself depleting it in just a few days because I was used to the unlimited plan in Cameroon.
In Rwanda 🇷🇼, I was even more surprised. I got an Airtel plan for 5,000 RWF (approximately $4), which gave me 2 GB per day at maximum speed, with unlimited calls and SMS to all local networks for 30 days that’s 60Gb per month for $4.
I keep asking myself, what affects internet prices? Why is it expensive in some countries and affordable in others? Can somebody explain this to me? What's the internet price in your country?

Long Story Short: Großer, teurer, neuer TV hatte ne kleine, kaum sehbare Macke.
Frage also: Wie würdet ihr handeln?
