hey guys,
My former narc landlord and I are in a legal confrontation (no lawyers yet involved) after me moving out. First, I sent him a letter explaining he's breaking our moving-out agreement (he wants to keep my rent deposit over faulty damages) and let's talk. No response. Second, I sent him a polite letter explaining he has potential additional problems with data protection, building code, criminal law and renters law and his legal professions guidelines as a doctor, but I did not threaten retaliation only said let's find a good solution for both of us. No response for 3.5 weeks.
Now we called a few days ago he was quite heavily guilt tripping, gaslighting and accusing me again. Question: It seems he already has forgotten about that letter from 3.5 weeks ago or is not worried at all for retaliation?
Is it because my letter and our call did not contain any clear consequences and where friendly? Because he historically always takes advantage unless there are clear-cut consequences? Or because I didn't mention reporting him to authorities in my letter, so he doesn't know it's on my mind? Or because I did'nt follow through on any threats so far and he thinks I'm just bluffing? Or because he thinks he did nothing wrong, but my allegations are wrong?

WARNING: this is very long so if you don't want to read a wall of text feel free to skip!
It’s always been like that for me. For some reason it takes me a LOT longer than my peers to find employment. I often find myself chronically unemployed (even though I have years of experience) for a year or more. To top it off I’m autistic and suffer from severe ADHD with anxiety and depression on top of it.
After I graduated university it took me a year to find a job. Had consistent employment for almost 4 years straight until 2018. During this period I actually had a job lined up before quitting.
Fast forward to 2018. Had a job as a software developer for a well known company (no it’s not FAANG) and they paid pretty well. It was the most money I ever made in my life. Unfortunately things didn’t work out there and the work environment and culture wasn’t for me. I was placed on a team as a new dev and they barely gave me any work. After awhile I hated going to work everyday cause everyone basically just ignored me and I spent most of my time self studying on my own. I found this job through their autism to work program. Before accepting the job I was told that I’d get support and accommodations with a mentor.
My “mentor” was basically useless. She didn’t do a damn thing and would cancel our one on one meetings half the time. Sometimes she wouldn’t even tell me at the last minute. She just never showed up. All she did was report negative feedback from my manager and provided no solutions or recommendations to improve. I was let go cause they felt like I “needed a lot of hand holding” lol. They barely gave me work to do. I would finish my assignments in a day or two max. They made some other bullshit complaints too. I showed up on time and did what I had to do every time. It was awful. I was far far away from home and lived out of state at the time also.
Lost my apartment and had to move back home with my family. Long term unemployment stint #1 begins here (if you don’t count how long it took me to find my first job you can say 2)
Fast forward to September 2019 and a friend recommended me a job as a software developer and finally moved out again. I taught myself HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP to the best of my ability. I was not only learning on the job but maintained their website, ran chron jobs, and troubleshooted issues with site functionality and even the web server. I was literally a one man show and to top it off was working for $15/hour. My boss was a prick and would sometimes short my coworker and me money on our checks. My coworker handled all the marketing and promotion. I handled everything related to the website.
Fast forward to June 2020. Of the two of us unfortunately I was the one laid off for whatever reason. My boss just called and said that they’re laying me off right in the middle of COVID. Since I wasn’t working I could no longer afford rent so I had to move back home. Then became super depressed and it took me a little over a year to find a job.
Fast forward to August 2021 and I found a job at a call center. Ended up getting fired and it was my fault sadly. Got fired for yelling and hanging up on a customer. That day I was in a really bad mood and the person on the other line started cursing me out and getting real disrespectful with me. I was happy to be fired. Worked there for only two weeks.
Four months later in December 2021 I landed a job that was closer to home but another shitty call center. Surprisingly I lasted there a year and a half. My mental health was already in the toilet and doing everything I could to hold onto this job for dear life so I sucked it up until I found another job. I wanted to get out that call center so badly since it was nothing but micromanagement and back to back calls.
June 2023 rolls around and I finally started my job in desktop support as a contractor. Offer letter said 6 month contract then when I read it found out it was a 3 month contract to hire and also found out that they shorted me a dollar on the agreed pay rate. I asked for $30/hour and they agreed to it only to find out they changed things last minute. Spoke to the recruiter about the discrepancies and was told that’s the best they can do so I said screw it and took it.
My recruiter told me that they would “definitely” be converting me at the end of the three months but sadly that never happened. I showed up on time everyday and did a good job according to my manager and everyone else (so they said). I even got good reviews from a number of clients I worked with. About two months in I noticed things began to go south. Had a small disagreement and misunderstanding with my manager on a ticket she said I messed up on for whatever reason. Long story short she said the ticket was urgent when nowhere on the ticket said there was a deadline and she made a huge stink about it. Not only did I receive few tickets to begin with but I had to share the one or two tickets I had with a bunch of interns so I barely had anything to do. My other coworkers had more tickets than me yet would rarely put the interns with them. It was always with me which in my head made no sense. I get a call from the recruiter saying that they’re ending my contract early. During the call I asked why and they said it was due to “performance reasons”. At that point I had two weeks left. I worked one of those weeks then one morning left the building during a meltdown. Left my badge, laptop and all their property on the desk and didn’t say a word to anyone. Been looking for work ever since. Sent out hundreds of resumes and so far only had 2 interviews which led to nothing despite both of them saying I did well and they liked me.
Hundreds of applications later and here I am with no job. I’m still looking for work and decided to also start a small business in the meantime. I started a month ago and only had 2 clients so far. Still no luck with applications. I’m 35 now and had to move back home during the pandemic and been here ever since after living on my own for years.
I’m very thankful and grateful for my mother. She’s the only reason why I’m not homeless. Everyday I think about suicide and I’m reaching a point where I might actually go through with it.
I’ve always been behind in life and feel like I progress slower than my peers. Deleted my social media cause I found myself comparing myself to my former classmates and friends achieving the things I tried so hard for and failed miserably.
I also suck at everything I do. After 1300 hours in valorant I only peaked at Gold 2. I’m the worst in my friend group like with every video game and sport. At one point I even paid for a few Valorant coaching lessons which IMO didn’t think were that great. I was always picked last in gym class. At my first job I was the last one to receive an offer to convert full time and the people that joined way after surpassed me despite having good metrics and being top of the leaderboard several times for several weeks.
Honestly at this point I’m ready to give up on life. Feels like I was destined to be a failure. I always felt like my efforts don’t pay off for anything. I failed my career. I failed in dating. I failed in my hobbies. Now I know you shouldn’t compare yourself to others but when I’m the only one I know of in my situation it’s damn near impossible not to. I’m not gonna act like I have the worst life ever but I don’t know of ANYONE my age struggling like this.
Every time I think I’m building momentum some bullshit always happens and every time it feels like I’m knocked back to square one. Feels like building a house that’s in a tornado zone only for my foundation to be knocked to pieces every time and cant afford to move.
I’m just frustrated with life and everything at this point. I hate everything about myself and seriously can’t wait to die. I’d pay someone to kill me. I’m crying while writing this thesis paper of a post. Maybe there’s something very wrong with me. I think I’m slow and stupid. Maybe even borderline retarded. I’m the failure of all failures. Nothing but a talentless garbage can loser bum.
Don’t know what to do. I don’t wanna go back to the hospital but I may have to. Thanks for reading my rant. I needed to get this out since I have no one to talk to.

Hi so this is a long story so apologies in advance. I’m going to try to give as many details as possible but still keep it as anonymous as possible since this may result in a law suit. So for some background we live in an apartment complex it’s on the smaller size and the parking lot is in an L shape and can fit around 75 cars. I have a car and so does my boyfriend which we stated prior to moving in and gave both of our license plates for their records. For context: We have had previous issues with the landlord/landlord company (never filed for some things but we were lied too about certain things prior to moving in, all that was recorded as well, because you can hear the person who showed the apartment to us on video tell us certain things all with his consent as he knew we were recording. For example that you couldn’t hear your neighbors on either side or down below since we are on the top floor and that the apartment wouldn’t reek like cigarettes by having the windows open cause other tenants violate the rental agreement and smoke in there apartments.) We have had to make a few calls because the guy who lives underneath us has put his hands on his wife and Or girlfriend (we aren’t sure) and a few others neighbors have called the cops as well. The first time that we called because we heard her screaming and him throwing glass (we had already called police) they basically told us that they couldn’t do anything and couldn’t evict him or intervene ???? The second time we called to try and lodge a noise complaint which we were hoping would actually get them to take action and we took video this time (she was screaming for help and our neighbor texted us that she already called the police) she basically told us if we called again it would be a negative mark against us as tenants. That leads us to today, I work from home so there are times that I don’t use my car often maybe once or twice every other week. The car also has battery problems so it’s a pain to drive and was planning on selling it. My boyfriends car is newer and he usually drives us places. I usually park in the same spot if I do use my car. I came home today (Saturday 10am) after walking to get a haircut that was down the street and when I came home there was a giant bright orange sticker (it took up a good portion of my back window) on the back of my car saying I had to move it by Monday 7am or it is to be towed. There was no case number and I called local police and they confirmed that they didn’t do it. This is where it’s hilarious it says if you have any questions to call them… the office opens at 9am on Monday so there’s no way to contact them through phone, or email before my time would run out to move the car. Tried to start my car to move it and bring it somewhere else and bam battery issue. I’m basically in tears at this point and a few neighbors are standing outside some smoking and some staring through their apartment windows. As I was getting out of the car I saw some were pointing and laughing at me. Some shit straight out of a movie. I ran inside sobbing due to the embarrassment I felt and it took some time to calm down. Not needed but I had just found out this morning my grandmother was in the icu while walking home after the haircut so it was an awful day. Even as I’m typing this now I’m still shaking. After some calming down and my boyfriend trying to help I tried to figure out what to do luckily I had AAA due to previous car issues and my boyfriends wonderful family let me tow the car to their house. The tow truck driver was amazing and urged me to seek legal help as he was baffled they would do this and covered the sticker as he was towing to take away some of the embarrassment I felt as people were watching from their window. On our lease when it comes to cars it says if they deem appropriate to tow they will reach out either through email or a phone call which never happened. We have never missed a rent payment and we keep the noise level low and never had neighbors complain about us, we don’t smoke and rarely have visitors, if we do they aren’t there longer then 3-4 hours during the day. I apologize for the long post but I’m not sure what to do and I don’t want to live here anymore and don’t want to go outside due to the embarrassment of a good portion our neighbors seeing what happened and making fun of the situation. Also they have signs saying 24 hour surveillance but the cameras broke and we’re taken down and never replaced 2 years ago. (Yes we have called and asked and the office told us they don’t have cameras) My car is older but it’s in good shape no dents or chipped paint and still looks brand new so I don’t think it’s an issue to do with old junk cars muddying the lot which there are some worse I.e. misusing tires or taped with cut tape and they never received a sticker of warning to tow. Please help on what the best decision to do here is.

We have been having issues with our neighbor over the past 2 years. The issue started when I went to talk to her nicely about not wanting her dog to run about freely in the shared common space yard as it's stepping on my garden, disturbing our enjoyment using our patio. It's jumped on me a few times too (dog's a golden retriever). She wasn't happy about it, and her dog was off-leash frequently at first but then slowly less, but still happens over time as she kept getting warning letters from the condo once I kept reporting and even submitted video evidence from my motion sensor camera. Finally, the board sat down with her just a few months ago and she seemed to get a stern warning this time, enough for her to stop..(maybe?)
But now she's retaliating by making trivial complaints about us putting bricks down (same or less wide than the fence post width ) to separate our gardens claiming it's her space., and that our cedar tree branches are going past the fence post onto her side. But truthfully none of this is our space. When we bought our condo, it was advertised as a space with a garden, but in the by-law apparently any altercation to the common area isn't allowed. We knew nothing about this however...since the previous owner had it for 20 years. Our neighbor also then make a complaint about my dog being off-leash on my exclusive use patio, not on the grass, and nowhere near their area. My dog was just sitting on my chair with me. I then made a complaint that she had a dog fenced area with feces in it and completely destroyed the grass, since she's making a complaint about bricks. Plus, she had trees she planted past the fence line into our side. The board had a meeting and concluded that no dogs are allowed off leash anywhere, and that because the by-law states that we aren't allowed to alter the common area, we will be required to restore it IF these trivial complaints keep going. I am fine with leashing my dog, just didn't realize I needed to leash it ON my exclusive use patio/terrace, and not only just the common yard area, and am happy to comply with that. Condo board also gave us a link to the online condo authority tribunal.
Neighbor then decided to remove her trees but kept her trellis fence and then proceeded to grab our stones and chuck it away. This made my partner angry but I just told him to just remove the stones since it's not worth the energy. She's made it extremely difficult to feel safe and secure and happy in our own condo living space.
My questions:
  1. We haven't added more square footage of garden area or anything but simply maintained it over the years, with getting rid of bushy weedy plants and putting in nicer ones etc. Our neighbor however completely altered the common area from what they had bought by adding a garden and a dog potty area. Are we still in the wrong based on the by-law even though we didn't add any of this garden stuff ? I know we probably inherited it by buying but is there a law that because the previous owner did it (and maybe got permission) we can be exempted?
  2. Is there anything we can do with neighbor touching our stuff? She has lights ON the fence (so in her logic, it's our side too...and I don't touch them to remove them.
  3. Will this online condo authority tribunal thing help? I feel like since she's being hostile and doing what she wants anyway, she isn't going to agree with anything this tribunal might ask her?

I’m reaching out to see if anyone here has experience or advice on getting a service connection for headaches after a previous denial. In 2021, my claim for headaches as secondary to my service-connected adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood was denied. I’m currently working on a new claim and seeking to increase some of my current ratings. Below are my current service-connected ratings:
• 70% for adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood • 10% for cervical strain • 0% for allergic rhinitis • 50% for sleep apnea • 10% for tinnitus • 10% for right ankle lateral collateral ligament sprain • 20% for left shoulder impingement syndrome
Here are key elements from the decision letter regarding the denial of my headaches claim:
  1. Reasons for Decision: • Service connection for headaches as secondary to the service-connected disability of adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood was denied due to lack of medical evidence showing a link. • Direct service connection requires evidence demonstrating a chronic issue during service or continuous symptoms after discharge. • My headaches were noted during service but deemed acute and transitory without ongoing complaints. • A medical opinion provided stated that it was less likely than not that my headaches were due to my adjustment disorder.
  2. In-Service Evidence: • Complaints of headaches while on active duty due to pneumonia and respiratory distress (July 29, 2015) and a headache complaint associated with sinus congestion (February 27, 2012).

Does anyone think there’s a chance of getting a service connection for my headaches if I pursue this claim again? Currently have new evidence pointing to my cervical spine degenerative changes to C5-C7 that could point to my frequent headaches throughout the day. Any advice on how to strengthen my case or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Never submitted an HLR or appealed was really oblivious to this stuff back then.

Hi all,
My landlord is withholding our security deposit because apparently our pets “soiled the carpet and the concrete needed to be treated”.
We’ve been understanding (even though we think the damages are being inflated) and have requested that we get whatever we can back after the damage has been repaired.
The issue is that they are being very avoidant. It has been a month since we moved out and besides the carpet text they have not responded to our other 3 messages asking about it. They also have not given us an itemized list of any repairs our security deposit covered, which I’ve read I’m entitled to in Colorado. The deposit was $3,200+$300 pet deposit and paid $30 a month in pet rent and the carpeted area was not that large, so I doubt replacing it costs all that.
I want to take more serious action but I want to make sure I cover my bases before. What are somethings I should make sure I do before sending a 7 day demand letter?

My mom passed away in February 2023 and was a resident of Montana. My sister and I used her accountant to file her 2022 taxes and had no issues. In November 2023 a letter from the IRS was sent to my sister saying our mom owed $1600 plus interest for 2021. We gave the letter to her accountant and he said he’d “look into it” We used him again to file her 2023 taxes and he told us her estate would be receiving around $600 in a refund. Today another letter came saying she owes the same amount plus more interest! Truthfully, I forgot about the letter from November and assumed he had all of that figured out when he did my mom’s 2023 taxes. This afternoon I was able to find my moms folder that she kept for her 2021 taxes and she had a copy of a letter she mailed to her accountant questioning the amount of her taxes and complaining about his lack of communication with her about it. She also said she was withholding paying his preparation services until this was straightened out. Of course we didn’t know anything about this as she was filing her own taxes at the time. He never mentioned anything to us about this issue.
I know ultimately we are responsible for paying the correct amount of taxes, but does this accountant have any legal responsibility? I feel like he should have to pay the interest charges as he knew my mom was questioning her tax bill. He also had that letter my sister gave him in November. What are our legal rights? What if he made a mistake when filing? I don’t know how to approach this with him. Can I file a complaint with the IRS for his handling of this?

2024.06.01 22:38 SoPernicious Section 21 following disrepair

Apologies, it’s long but want to cover as much as possible. Have sought advice from local council, Shelter and Citizen’s Advice and have had conflicting advice, so posting here in the hope someone has experience/professional advice.
Reported disrepair last year, boiler wasn’t working. Letting agent asked landlord to fix, engineer attended and said it needed replacing. LL refused to replace and said only would consider a part fix. Took 4 months to replace part, still didn’t work. In meantime, I reported to council as have two young children and no access to hot water and heating. They did an inspection and delivered a letter to LL and agent that included 25+ improvements, including several category 1 and 2 hazards. Gave a deadline for all work to be done.
Deadline comes, only 3 things done. Council grant an extension until spring this year as some repairs are external and weather is a factor. Had to report harassment as LL kept coming to property unannounced and walked in without invitation. I emailed agent in Nov 23 and March 24, attached pictures of wall worsening due to penetrative damp and a letter from GP citing the impact on my 3 year olds health (multiple hospital visits for respiratory failure). Received no reply, they only respond to the case manager at council. He emailed them two weeks ago asking if they managed to do the work or if they have sorted a contractor. We received Section 21 this week.
Our case manager is now on leave and no one else seems willing to act on his behalf. They say if they issue improvement notice now it can invalidate S21 as it is an ongoing case and the last contact with agent about repairs supersedes date of S21. We are pretty pissed as we have been asking for a notice for ages cos we knew LL would not comply. Shelter say they needed to serve improvement notice before S21 and CAB say because the council officer spoke with the agent two weeks ago, it could be viewed as retaliatory eviction.
Do we have any defence here? We hate the house and are actively looking but there are few properties and each time we’ve applied someone has pipped us to post. Likely we won’t be out by time S21 is up but now we are hearing we will have to pay LL court fees if that’s the case?
Any idea if the disrepair triggers dysregulation? Would an improvement notice invalidate S21 given council last spoke with agent 2 weeks ago? How likely will a judge view this if we send in evidence of unfinished repairs?
I have two young children and want to avoid bailiffs but if we have nowhere to go despite actively applying for properties I don’t know what else I can do.

2024.06.01 21:15 _TKGX NDIS and My Care Provider promised me the excessive mold in my room where I am living was "an utmost priority" to help me with. Today, it's been a year since then. The mold is still there.

I've been with NDIS and 2 different care providers for 4 years now. 4 plan reviews, 1 year each. My goals and what my needs are are very minimal and have never changed all this time. Nothing has ever been done for me despite all I've done. I see a support worker once a week and that's it, for 4 years. Either the buckets of money I have never get used or they are emptied for nothing. I've filled out an official NDIS complaint form on their website almost every 3 months for a long time now. You even get a reference ID number and they promise they care and will respond. But they never do. I don't even have plan reviews anymore. I just got a letter saying it's "auto approved for another year" and they just accept making me feel awful and depressed and not helping me at all for another 365 days. They blame me. They say I'm not doing enough or not trying hard enough. Its my fault. Etc etc. endlessly. I want anyone who read this far to know that I've tried to commit suicide 3+ times these past 4 years. I'm not blaming anyone or anything. But this was a massive contributing factor to me constantly getting back to that low state. And that makes me very sad.

They gave me a notice of immediate eviction (Arizona) so I moved out at the end of the month and turned over the apartment to the landlord (Greystar). Then at the beginning of the next month I showed up to eviction court and the case was thrown out by the Landlords lawyer with no amount owed.
Fast forward 2 years later and this landlord gave my debt to the debt collection agency and they put a collection on my credit report. They are trying to collect for a week in the next month that I did not live at the apartment.
I told the collection agency that the debt it not mines, and why am I being charged for a week of me not living there the month after. I know the date I moved out because I moved back in with my parents. The scummy landlord gave them an invoice sheet showing my move out date was the beginning of the next month.
I have already emailed the debt agency stating that it's not. I've also contacted the CFPB, and all three credit agencies explaining the situation and I provided the official court document of the eviction being dismissed with nothing owed, and I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint.
None of these agencies have gotten back to me, and from reading on the thread for some people it took almost a week and it was removed if false.
It's been almost two weeks and this is still on my credit. My credit score has taken a major hit and this is affecting many things I wanted to do this month that I planned.
Is this justified in being my debt? Do I just need to wait longer? If it's not mines can I possibly sue the debt agency and landlord for negligence? I have never been in this situation before.

Ahhh this is long and complicated and not about me, but my mother. I will try to be as concise as possible without revealing too much personally.
My mother used to own a secondhand bridal gown shop. She decided to close it a few years back and move back to our home state where her children/grandchildren live. She moved into my house with my family and currently lives with us. But she had a ton of dresses leftover she still wanted to sell. So she found a consignment shop a few years ago where she can sell her dresses and she and the shop owner split the sales 50/50. She signed an agreement.
This was her third year selling dresses in the shop (it used to be open seasonally) and apparently the shop owner found out my mother is an amateur seamstress. Not really trained, but that was made known. So they made a second agreement that my mom would be the shop’s in-house seamstress. My mom would get to keep all the profits, but she had to pay the shop owner $150 per week, every week. As far as I know, they did not sign anything regarding this agreement.
Long story short, a customer was displeased with my mother’s work and complained. The shop owner, without my mother’s knowledge, refunded the customer for my mother’s services. The shop has a strict ‘no refunds’ policy, but I guess since it was someone else’s work, she didn’t care. The shop owner then added the refund amount to the amount my mother owed her for her weekly seamstress fees. She did not tell my mother she did this. Later that weekend, she sent a text to my mom telling her that she was severing their professional relationship. She alleged that there had been other complaints and at least two other refunds, but could provide no proof of any refund but the last one. She also admitted in the text that she did not make my mother aware that any customers had been displeased with her work, let alone been refunded. Real great manager skills there, but I digress.
Complicated enough yet? Nope, it gets worse. The shop still had my mother’s dresses, so the shop owner says she will not give the dresses back until my mother pays her the seamstress fees she owes her for the month. It’s at least $250 more than my mother thought she owed, and as we suspected, the shop owner eventually admits she added the refunded amount to my mother’s debt. My mom and her sons in law go to the store yesterday morning to pick up the dresses, with my mom saying she’ll pay what she owes but not the refund. Shop owner refuses. Cops get called (by my family). Cops say it’s a small claims issue.
I don’t know why this woman would go to so much trouble over $250, particularly when she has a no refunds policy anyway. It feels like a personal vendetta, but no matter the reasoning, that’s the direction we’re headed. We also received letters in the mail today from the shop owner that my mother had to sign for, which repeated the original text the shop owner sent to my mom a couple weeks ago (it happened on Mother’s Day). So it’s clear she’s gearing up for court.
Oh, and for extra fun, the shop owner now claims that if the debt isn’t paid by June 10, the dresses are hers to sell. These are rules she’s just making up at this point. So we have to get something court ordered and quick. It’s a gigantic headache. My entire family hates this woman with a fiery passion and we have every intention of helping my mother through this and no intention of backing down. But none of us has ever filed a claim or lawsuit or anything prior to this. We had a ‘family’ lawyer but he retired a couple of years ago.
What the in the heck should we do? Do we need a lawyer? Do we have a shot at getting this debt removed and getting this resolved? I think what this shop owner did was unethical and not legal, but on a personal note, she’s a fugly bully and she picked on my mom, so I want to take her down. But not if it means burning down my own house (so to speak) to do so.

For context, I am just a college girl subletting her college room for the first time. These are honest mistakes and I will not make these mistakes again.
He flew a drone outside our apartment patio. The neighbours were disturbed and even called the cops. This is illegal and poses a safety threat. The cops did not come but someone in our management did come to our apartment to speak to him. Management was rightfully angry and told us that this was against the law and could also threaten our leases. This made us all very scared. I called the tribunals and they suggested I file for eviction. I did not want to go through with eviction because it is a tedious process and a hearing would probably be scheduled months after he moves out. I decided to send a strict and angry message in the hopes he would not commit the same mistake again. I phrased that he “could be evicted” but I did not threaten to evict him.
He fought with me over the phone before moving in. I told him I did not want his girlfriend overnight, and in response, he told me he no longer wanted to live with us and wanted his money returned. In response, I started to return his money because my roommates and I were uncomfortable and felt disrespected. He realized that I was serious and pleaded with me to negotiate with my roommates. They agreed only in the circumstance that he did not bring people overnight. To prevent him from doing this, my father prompted me to write a new lease. The goal of that extra line of writing was to make sure he did not cause trouble for my roommates who were gonna be living with him over the summer. I told him the changes and he agreed through text.
Prompted, I did not know that this was against the rules. However, I would not have done this if he hadn’t argued with me over the subject. I did not harass him over this new lease, I simply asked from time to time for him to sign it since he agreed. At one point I forgot about it because we had already signed a lease previously. He never signed the second lease at the end anyway.
He put a camera in his room connected to the living room. My roommates were unaware of this and were filmed without their consent. One of them simply wanted to check if he was home so they could talk to him, not realizing it was invading his privacy. The other roommate was filmed in the common area despite not even looking into his room. Nobody walked up to or touched his door.
I apologized for the rules I broke in the tribunal and told him that he is free to do what he wants as long as he doesn't break any tendency rules. I also agreed to not take his deposit money unreasonably.
Now he wants me to write an apology letter stating that I broke the rules (he says the law) to close the case. I agreed and went to sleep.
The next morning he called my roommate 8 times for him to wake up, only to yell at him. I quickly did what he asked for and sent it to him. He asked me to add the reason why I broke tenancy rules. Which I stated above and is true since I have my roommates and neighbours witness everything. I sent to him and he was very unhappy and accused me of lying.
Now it seems like he wants me to admit I broke the law and to write that everything I have written above is untrue. He gave me until yesterday midnight to write it. I don't want to admit anything I have not done, nor admit that this story is untrue because it did happen.
He spent money on a lawyer and his lawyer keeps egging him on over this 4 month lease. All he wants now is to get me to admit that I was wrong ( my roommate overheard him screaming at the phone to his supposed lawyer).
Landlords can't help and only advised us to call the police but the police also can't do anything. He also subletted from someone else from my program and they also had a terrible experience with him as well. I don't know what to do.

Does anyone know the laws in US regarding pre existing housing if your ESA dies and you need a different one? I signed a lease on my apartment which includes my dog who is an ESA, although the unit is not usually dog friendly. Shortly after, I found out she has cancer. I’m devastated and do not want to think about “replacing her,” but also realistically I have always needed an ESA to help cope with my mental health and other chronic health issues.
Do you know how to go about this? Do I get a letter from my doctor stating necessity of ESA before adopting one?
Hopefully the landlord is understanding, but I want to know legally where I stand on this.

I was living with my parents and actings as their the main caregiver. My Dad was singing my praises and my siblings were concerned my Dad would change his will to my benefit so without me knowing, they organized a full-time live-in caregiver.
They told the caregiver I was 'violent' when I have never hit anyone in my life. They told her I was stalking her (which is complete nonsense) and she then told my Dad she was too scared to live with me so my Dad was forced to ask me to leave but then he said he was sick of being held hostage in his own home and asked me to come back. Dad asked me to have a meeting with her so we could all try and live in peace and harmony but my siblings had fed her so many negative stories about me she said she wanted to leave but then she said something strange. She said she 'needed to be fired'.
Then about 10 days later, social services came to the house and had a meeting with her and my siblings and my Dad. I was informed that my siblings (who were responsible for paying her via my Dad's bank account) made her file a complaint against me to social services saying I was abusing my parents.
After this meeting she left claiming she was 'fired' and then I realized that under her contract if someone is fired they have to be paid a severance. My Dad has memory challenges but he said he didn't fire her. She emailed him a letter of resignation and he felt that she gave him an ultimatum "Me or your daughter" but he didn't fire her. either way my siblings then hounded him with phone calls and emails threatening that she would sue him for a year's wages unless he paid her a severance which she was entitled to because he 'fired' her. The cleaning lady wasn't fully at the meeting but she said she sensed that the caregiver, surrounded by my siblings, just complained about me and said she wanted to leave.
When she left I was helping my Dad figure everything out. He is 76 and wasn't paying attention to my siblings paying her but she was contractually said her payment was $2300 per month. My siblings paid her $3.6k. In her final payslip she claimed 24 overtime hours over 8 days. when my Dad queried these she was told they were because 'builders were in the house'. when he asked why he was contractually or legally responsible she just responded "This amount of money means nothing to you" Dad was emotionally drained and due to constant threats from my siblings paid her a severance and bogus overtime.
I suspect that she went to my siblings, told them she wanted to leave and then they either verbally or non-verbally said 'submit a report to social services about our sister and we will take care of you."
I had no involvement with hiring her via her agency but can I legally reach out and ask them
  1. For a copy of the 'complaint' she submitted to social services about me?
  2. An understanding of why Dad 'fired' her. He must have had a reason right?
  3. An explanation of why she was paid so much extra by my siblings.
  4. An understanding of why she was entitled to overtime for 'builders being in the house'.
  5. Also my siblings were blocking my Dad from getting the care he needed. Can I ask her what steps she took to ensure my Dad got the right care?
  6. Can I say 'Hey if we find bogus overtime hours/severance you can repay my Dad or else I will go to the police"
If I can't ask for these things - who can?
I want this evidence to show my siblings were using manipulation, coercion and financially taking advantage of my Dad and the situation with the caregiver is part of that.
