A new kind of calamity has hit the muslim world especially those living in non-Muslim lands.
Our muslim girls are marrying non-Muslim men and nobody seems to care!
This is happening left and right...in families that are practicing muslims and in families that are not so practicing.
Is that really allowed?
What does Islaam say about that?
Let's take a look.
🍃Allaah says:
وَلَا تُنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنُوا
"And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikoon till they believe (in Allaah Alone)" (Surah al-Baqarah :221)
Here Allaah is telling us directly...clear and straight.
"Do not give your daughters to non Muslim men."
Simple as that. The Order couldn't be more straightforward or clearer.
🍃In the tafseer of this aayah, at-Tabari said:
"What Allaah, Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala means in this verse is that He has forbidden believing women to marry a mushrik (polytheist) of any type. So do not, O Muslim men, give them (Muslim women) in marriage to them (mushrikeen), for that is forbidden to you."
(Tafseer at-Tabari, 4/370)
🍃And Al-Qurtubi said:
"And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikoon" means do not give a Muslim woman in marriage to a mushrik. The ummah is unanimously agreed that a mushrik should not marry a believing woman under any circumstances, because that undermines Islam." (Tafseer al-Qurtubi (3/72)
🍃Al-Baghawi said:
"And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikoon till they believe (in Allah Alone)" - there is consensus on this point: it is not permissible for a Muslim woman to marry a mushrik man."
🍃In another aayah, Allaah says:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا جَاءَكُمُ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ مُهَاجِرَاتٍ فَامْتَحِنُوهُنَّ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِإِيمَانِهِنَّ فَإِنْ عَلِمْتُمُوهُنَّ مُؤْمِنَاتٍ فَلَا تَرْجِعُوهُنَّ إِلَى الْكُفَّارِ لَا هُنَّ حِلٌّ لَّهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحِلُّونَ لَهُنَّ وَآتُوهُم مَّا أَنفَقُوا
"O you who believe! When believing women come to you as emigrants, examine them, Allaah knows best as to their Faith. Then if you ascertain that they are true believers, send them not back to the disbelievers, they are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers nor are the disbelievers lawful (husbands) for them." (Surah al-Mumtahinah :10)
Here Allaah is directly addressing us as believers.
"O you who believe..."
Isn't that you and me?
Yes, it is.
WE claim to believe.
So pay attention.
Our Rabb is calling out to you and me and telling us straight up that disbelieving men are NOT LAWFUL for believing women.
🍃Regarding this aayah, Ibn Katheer said:
"Allaah says: "they are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers nor are the disbelievers lawful (husbands) for them". This verse is the one which prohibited Muslim women to mushrik men."
(Tafseer al-Qur'an al-'Azeem, 13/521)
It's as simple as that. No ifs and buts about it.
🔴 Such a marriage is NOT valid!
That's because one of the conditions of a valid Islaamic marriage is that the man should be Muslim.
If a muslim woman marries a non-Muslim man, this marriage is NOT A marriage in the eyes of the Shari'ah.
This woman is making a grave error and is guilty of committing zina!
May Allaah protect us.
🍃Statement of the Islamic Fiqh Council regarding this matter:
"Marriage of a kaafir to a Muslim woman is haraam and is not permissible, according to scholarly consensus, and there is no doubt about that because of what is stated in the shar'i texts." (Fataawa Islamiyyah (3/231)
🍃Just look at the rulings on such a woman!
"If a Muslim woman marries a non-Muslim man, knowing the ruling thereon, then she is a zaaniyah and is subject to the hadd punishment for zina.(Ya Allaah!!!)
If she was unaware of the ruling, then she is excused, but they must be separated, with no need for talaaq (divorce), because the marriage is invalid in the first place."

🛑 Should I go to such a wedding if I'm invited?
NO we should not be going to such a wedding that's not valid in the sight of Allaah.
If we take part in something that's haraam, then we're indirectly condoning that haraam.
In fact this is cooperating in sin and transgression, which itself is a sin.
🍃 Allaah says:
"And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression" (Surah al-Maa'idah :2)
🛑 What should I do?
Part of our being a Muslim is to enjoin the good and forbid the evil.
So here's what we can do depending on the situation.
"Whoever among you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart [by at least hating it and believing that it is wrong], and that is the weakest of faith." (Muslim)

This so-called 'Love' for a non-Muslim man will destroy your dunya and Aakhirah, UNLESS he accepts Islaam and sincerely becomes Muslim.

If the marriage is against the orders of Allaah, how can their be Khair in it?!
How can their be peace, love and happiness in it?!
How can there be ANY Barakah in it if you'll displease Allaah?!
Actually, it's better for you to marry a SLAVE who's Muslim rather than marry a free man who's not a Muslim.
🍃Allaah says:
And verily, a believing slave is better than a (free) Mushrik (idolater), even though he pleases you. Those (Al-Mushrikoon) invite you to the Fire, but Allaah invites (you) to Paradise and forgiveness by His Leave"
(Surah al-Baqarah :221)
🍃Imam al-Tabari said:
What is said concerning the interpretation of the words "And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikoon till they believe (in Allaah Alone) and verily, a believing slave is better than a (free) Mushrik (idolater), even though he pleases you" is that what Allaah meant by that is that Allaah has forbidden the believing women from marrying to a mushrik, no matter what kind of shirk he believes in. So, O believers, do not give your daughters in marriage to them, for that is forbidden to you. For you to give them in marriage to a believing slave who believes in Allaah and His Messenger and that which he brought from Allaah is better for you than to give them in marriage to a free mushrik even if he is of noble descent and honourable origins, even if you like his descent and background...
🛑 But then, why are Muslim MEN allowed to marry a woman of the People of the Book?
First of all, when Allaah and His Messenger have ordered us something there's no arguing about it or any other way around it.
We have to listen and obey.
🍃Allaah says:
"It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allaah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allaah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error" (Surah al-Ahzaab :36)
So if we are believers, we obey.
That's what BELIEVERS do.
....even if they don't understand it.
Just obey.
No questions asked.
THAT is true submission to Allaah.
THAT is Islaam.
🍃 Allaah says:
"The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allaah (His Words, His Orders) and His Messenger to judge between them, is that they say: 'We hear and we obey.' And such are the prosperous ones (who will live forever in Paradise).
And whosoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger, fears Allaah, and keeps his duty (to Him), such are the successful ones"
(Surah an-Noor :51-52)
Even if there were no other reasons, and no other explanations except this one, that would be ENOUGH for us as Muslims to obey Allaah's Command.
But for those who want further explanation:
As Muslims we believe Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aalaa is al-Hakeem, al-'Aleem, the Most-Wise, the Most-Knowledgable.
There is a reason for everything He does. And He knows better.
Allaah has allowed the Muslim man to marry a woman who's a Christian or a Jew and NOT ALLOWED a Muslim woman to marry a nom-Muslim man because of several reasons:
A) The man is in a position of leadership over the woman, and it is not allowed for a non-Muslim to be in a position of leadership over a Muslim woman.
🍃The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
"Islam prevails and is not prevailed over." (al-Daaraqutni and others -hasan by al-Albaani)
B) Allaah tells us in the Qur'aan that men are 'qawwaam' over their wives, meaning they're in charge.
The husband is the leader or head of the household and his status within the family is higher than that of his wife.
Because of this higher position, if a muslim woman were to marry a non-Muslim man, the husband would influence his wife in a negative way and make her leave her Deen or at least be very lax about it.
He would not be helping her to obey Allaah and in fact he would be an impediment in doing that. And would be an obstruction between her and Jannah.
C) The higher status of the husband will also influence the children to follow their father's religion, which would be nothing short of a DISASTER for the family, if these children grow up to be non-Muslim.
🛑Conclusion
Faith is not just words, my sister, unless it's accompanied by ACTIONS.
If Allaah has prohibited Muslim women from marrying non-Muslim men, even if they're from the People of the Book, then we have to submit to that order and accept it without any qualms about it.
Allaah's Guidance is the best guidance and His Way is the best way.

"O you who believe! When believing women come to you as emigrants, examine them, Allaah knows best as to their Faith. Then if you ascertain that they are true believers, send them not back to the disbelievers, they are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers nor are the disbelievers lawful (husbands) for them." (Surah al-Mumtahinah :10)
Here Allaah is directly addressing us as believers.
"O you who believe..."
Isn't that you and me?
Yes, it is.
WE claim to believe.
So pay attention.
Our Rabb is calling out to you and me and telling us straight up that disbelieving men are NOT LAWFUL for believing women.
🍃Regarding this aayah, Ibn Katheer said:
"Allaah says: "they are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers nor are the disbelievers lawful (husbands) for them". This verse is the one which prohibited Muslim women to mushrik men."

It's as simple as that. No ifs and buts about it.

That's because one of the conditions of a valid Islaamic marriage is that the man should be Muslim.

- If it's possible, go talk to the parties involved and help the man to understand and accept Islaam and say the Shahadah. That is the best scenario.
- If he does not want to become Muslim, then explain to them how this marriage would not be valid and try to talk them out of it.
- If they don't listen and still want to carry on with this adulterous relationship then simply DO NOT attend this so-called 'wedding' and be devastated about it in your heart. But at least you did your job.

🛑 But then, why are Muslim MEN allowed to marry a woman of the People of the Book?
First of all, when Allaah and His Messenger have ordered us something there's no arguing about it or any other way around it.
We have to listen and obey.

"It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allaah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allaah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error" (Surah al-Ahzaab :36)
So if we are believers, we obey.
That's what BELIEVERS do.

No questions asked.
THAT is true submission to Allaah.
THAT is Islaam.

Even if there were no other reasons, and no other explanations except this one, that would be ENOUGH for us as Muslims to obey Allaah's Command.
But for those who want further explanation:
As Muslims we believe Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aalaa is al-Hakeem, al-'Aleem, the Most-Wise, the Most-Knowledgable.
There is a reason for everything He does. And He knows better.
Allaah has allowed the Muslim man to marry a woman who's a Christian or a Jew and NOT ALLOWED a Muslim woman to marry a nom-Muslim man because of several reasons:
A) The man is in a position of leadership over the woman, and it is not allowed for a non-Muslim to be in a position of leadership over a Muslim woman.
🍃The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
"Islam prevails and is not prevailed over." (al-Daaraqutni and others -hasan by al-Albaani)
B) Allaah tells us in the Qur'aan that men are 'qawwaam' over their wives, meaning they're in charge.
The husband is the leader or head of the household and his status within the family is higher than that of his wife.
Because of this higher position, if a muslim woman were to marry a non-Muslim man, the husband would influence his wife in a negative way and make her leave her Deen or at least be very lax about it.
He would not be helping her to obey Allaah and in fact he would be an impediment in doing that. And would be an obstruction between her and Jannah.
C) The higher status of the husband will also influence the children to follow their father's religion, which would be nothing short of a DISASTER for the family, if these children grow up to be non-Muslim.
🛑Conclusion
Faith is not just words, my sister, unless it's accompanied by ACTIONS.
If Allaah has prohibited Muslim women from marrying non-Muslim men, even if they're from the People of the Book, then we have to submit to that order and accept it without any qualms about it.
Allaah's Guidance is the best guidance and His Way is the best way.

Hello my brothers and sisters! I have been thinking and praying recently about some ideas I have about the way modern American church culture often supersedes the actual Word at times. And have contemplated what I, a very flawed man, believe would be the idea form of church service in my own opinion. Christianity has become, and historically been, split among its members into many different sects and factions. Frankly, it is a part of the human condition to wish to be around others that share your own beliefs. Often these sects, or as they are commonly referred to denominations, have their own cultural practices and traditions that exist alongside of the Word, which can often be dogmatic or even contradictory to the Word. Most often simply extra to the Word. I often find myself questioning these practices or superfluous belief systems found within churches, it personally often doesn’t sit right with me. And I will admit I am biased in my opinions, I am quite Protestant in my beliefs; I often personally dislike the embellishments of Protestant mega churches, Catholicism, and orthodoxy , among others (though I do believe they should worship as they see fit, and am just discussing my own views). And even non-denominational churches typically have the same flavor as other churches in the local area.
I’ve considered what would be my ideal church, one that attempts to get back to the spirit of the early church but also do its own thing. And in that purpose I’ve developed a list, and wanted to know you all’s thoughts on it:

- Unprogrammed Services, similar to the way Quakers approach their services where any that feel lead to talk may do so. But different in the sense that people may lead sermons should they wish to, and it is encouraged to do so by all. In order that all within the priesthood of believers share their interpretations and beliefs of the Word. Often in traditional churches we are given information on how we should act or how we should proselytize, but without practice how are we to cement these ideas? Discussion and debate should be encouraged and done in a manner in which people of different beliefs of the Bible are able to sharpen each other. All are welcome
- No Head Priest, similarly, there should be no pastor or head priest since we are all priests and saints. None should assume a position of power or increased authority, which we should all share. Often we are very happy to just sit back in our pews and listen without having to assume any responsibility. But as equals and priests we should have equal say and responsibility to our local church.
- Deacons and Bishops, 1 Tim. 3:1-13, A deacon and a bishop are the only two official positions in the church. Deacons are servants of the church who are put in charge of activities or responsibilities that require special attention. Bishops or elders, are overseers that ensure the church maintains godly values and oversees the practical functions of the church. Neither deacons or bishops are above any other brother, but rather they only accept on more responsibility. They exist primarily to serve in an ancillary position in order to aid the physical churches needs, not necessarily the spiritual needs any more than anyone else is.
- Physical Location Not Needed, a church building is no holier than any other peace of dirt. The world was created by God, and we should worship Him wherever we are. The early church often meet in each other’s homes, and there is something very intimate about worshiping in one of the brother’s or sister’s homes that add to the sincerity of the service. And without a physical location those funds from tithes may be directed elsewhere.
- Tithe in Anyway, Let’s face it often at certain churches tithes do not achieve their purpose. Outside of church maintenance, often tithes are spent on pizza or other things at events meant to foster fellowship. Which is good but probably would be best not on the church dime, they are your church family and friends and you can fellowship with them independently. But also time can be an amazing tithes instead of money. Work to better your local church and support your brothers, or volunteer at a local nonprofit organization. Even if it is illegal to feed and cloth the homeless. Again, we are often very happy to sit in our pews without it actually costing us anything. We, myself included, must be willing to give of our time and do unto others giving of ourselves.

Think "Heh...I guess I deserve it." The other day, she patted me on the head and called me a "lil' bean." She's somehow millennial and tragically online at the same time. I dread being in the same room with her sometimes. But other times, she's amazing. The life of the party. Kind, compassionate, smart, resourceful, and hard-working. She's admirable. Sometimes.
I need her to change her behavior. She consistently texts my friend GC about hating herself, wanting to d1e, wanting other people to suffer, etc. I know that sounds bad, but I comfort her every time. I am there for her when she needs it, and I lift her when she hits rock bottom. I try to be her rock. I know what it's like to be trapped in a cycle of being depressed and being happy. It's rough, and I don't want anyone else to experience that. But I can't deal with it anymore. It triggers my bad/intrusive thoughts and my depression, and it makes me genuinely uncomfortable. Some of the things she says about other people, or what she wants to do to other people, are genuinely horrifying, and I don't know how to deal with them. Whenever someone brings up that it makes them uncomfortable, she spirals back down into thinking she's a horrible person, that she deserves to d1e, and that other people around her deserve to d1e and suffer. I don't want to make her feel like that, I love her too much. I want to tell her as gently as possible, but I don't want to hurt her.
She also makes hurtful comments about Autism. I have Autism. She probably has Autism. On my birthday last year, I mentioned her being Autistic. She immediately got defensive, and eventually ended up saying "If I was autistic, I would hate myself". Ever since then, she's gotten comfortable saying she "doesn't want to be autistic", that she would "intentionally change her test answers on a test to avoid being diagnosed", and that "being diagnosed as autistic would be a curse." I don't care if she feels that way. But I used to feel that way. And it triggers something in me when she says stuff like that. But, again, if I tell her those comments make me very uncomfortable, she would spiral.
TLDR: I don't know how to address any issue I have with my 18F friend, because she spirals into depression and self-hatred whenever someone tries to tell her that she's making them uncomfortable.

Many years ago I realized that keyboard and mouse gaming was not sustainable, so I switched to controller only. However, ever since getting a ps5, I’ve noticed that I was getting a lot of wrist pain. The controller shape is not ideal, but it’s also just so so heavy. I actually think playing a lot of games on this was one of the contributing factors to needing wrist surgery last year. My association with a toxic individual who shall not be named made me cold and cut off from this world
What was once an empath, full of love and joy slowly became a shallow shell of what was left of a human being. It was during this peroid, I began using hard drugs again to null the pain. Just to feel something...
During this time, I made connections with people whom I am not proud of. People I would have never had the balls to face if I was sober.
It was during this time that close friends, family, started cutting me off. Soon, I had no one. I had no one. Just me and my dope. 2020 came around, and two close friends died. I was devastated. One to s****** and the other to an overdose.
Then came the pandemic. My uncle, that I was very close with, died of covid. Then my grandmother (who raised me while my mom was tweaked on meth), then an aunt.
A month later, another close friend died in a bar fight. He had his head smashed in with a manhole cover in the parking lot...
I had always struggled with intestinal issues and rectal issues since the age of 4
I have never told this to anyone, only my family knows, but I was molested by a childhood friend's father, which severely damaged my rectal cavity
Since then, along with my intestinal issues. I hadn't been able to have myself function digestively or from there...
My intestinal issues became gradually worse and worse throughout my life, and due to me numbing the pain with H, I hadn't kept up with how bad it had truly gotten
2021 comes around, and my gallbladder ruptures within me, which resulted in sepsis
Worst pain I had ever felt
After this procedure and multiple others, I could no longer function as I once used to. My life was never the same.
From what went from 30 mins in the restroom, went to 2 to 3 hrs... In constant pain, hemorrhaging, spasming, and more that I won't go into.
What little of a life that I had left felt taken from me even further
Late 2023 rolls around, and I meet someone, I see light at the end of the tunnel. I was happy for once. After all these years, after all that damage, I felt myself finally coming back out

My association with a toxic individual who shall not be named made me cold and cut off from this world
What was once an empath, full of love and joy slowly became a shallow shell of what was left of a human being. It was during this peroid, I began using hard drugs again to null the pain. Just to feel something...
During this time, I made connections with people whom I am not proud of. People I would have never had the balls to face if I was sober.
It was during this time that close friends, family, started cutting me off. Soon, I had no one. I had no one. Just me and my dope. 2020 came around, and two close friends died. I was devastated. One to s****** and the other to an overdose.
Then came the pandemic. My uncle, that I was very close with, died of covid. Then my grandmother (who raised me while my mom was tweaked on meth), then an aunt.
A month later, another close friend died in a bar fight. He had his head smashed in with a manhole cover in the parking lot...
I had always struggled with intestinal issues and rectal issues since the age of 4
I have never told this to anyone, only my family knows, but I was molested by a childhood friend's father, which severely damaged my rectal cavity
Since then, along with my intestinal issues. I hadn't been able to have myself function digestively or from there...
My intestinal issues became gradually worse and worse throughout my life, and due to me numbing the pain with H, I hadn't kept up with how bad it had truly gotten
2021 comes around, and my gallbladder ruptures within me, which resulted in sepsis
Worst pain I had ever felt
After this procedure and multiple others, I could no longer function as I once used to. My life was never the same.
From what went from 30 mins in the restroom, went to 2 to 3 hrs... In constant pain, hemorrhaging, spasming, and more that I won't go into.
What little of a life that I had left felt taken from me even further
Late 2023 rolls around, and I meet someone, I see light at the end of the tunnel. I was happy for once. After all these years, after all that damage, I felt myself finally coming back out

I'm a man (26) and my girlfriend (25) recently broke up with me about a day ago.
The jist of it was that she felt that we were different people and I was only doing things because she wanted me to, I didn't do them automatically. She felt that her priority in life was being very out going and social. I can be extremely extroverted but it takes time for me warm up to people. I am not against that at all and don't mind doing it, but the issue from her perspective is that it's only a priority because of her, it wasn't a priority of mine originally. Because of that, she feels like she's changing me and we aren't compatible. I tell her it's no sweat off my brow but she says its a lot which makes no sense; only i can decide what's too much for me to compromise, not her.
Church. We're both Christian but thanks to my job the last two years or so I haven't gone to church since I can never get Sundays off and I started to just get used to it. She did not mention this til we started getting into the breakup phase but this is another priority in her life that she wants her man to also share. I went with her a few times but the church service and everyone there primarily only speaks Japanese which I can't speak so I felt awkward going. She offered going to a whole different church but she's been there for two years and i didn't want to just uproot her from her community, ya know? Anyway, just like before, the issue is that church is only a priority because I'm prioritizing her and trying to make her happy, it simply just doesn't come natural
One last thing is I was thinking about buying a house very soon but she said she wants to move around a bit a travel and that means our life goals are so different and we aren't compatible. I say that's fine, I can hold off a bit and probably save more and get something better or just keep the money for something else. This sounded like I was simply shaping my life around her and that's not a good thing to her. We're still young and I feel I can be flexible about buying a house. I guess not...
She is not a good communicator and did not lay out all of these things I was doing wrong until about a few weeks ago as the break up was ramping up and we both finally exploded on each other for not understanding the expectations we had in mind for each other. I then tell her that we now know the issues and we can work on it: I will be more active in making sure I'm more social and willing to tag along in her social activities and we can go to a new church or her current one. All she needs to do is just let me, she has to do very little.
She tells me no and it's too late now. I had two years to catch on to this and I'm only doing this because she wants to, not because it's something I naturally do. Probably because I'm just a man, I don't know, but I thought it was a very good thing to have a partner who is extremely willing to see if they can coincide with your priorities and life and try to find compromises. She thinks the fact i have to compromise is bad and I should find someone who will love me for who i am. We finally communicated after all this time and found steps to work things out. We agreed, her friend spent a few days at her house and 3 days later she says she changed her mind and wants to break up. She suddenly thinks our solution will only prolong the inevitable and she wont even budge on trying. We wont know until we try and she suddenly just refuses to try. I'm her first relationship and I feel like she doesn't fully understand what compromise really means and that it does not mean your changing someone when they do, so im trying to convince her to give us another try. Might be for nothing though.
Is it not appealing to have a partner who wants to try and compromise some things for you? Or is it better to simply coincide with you because it comes naturally? Is it better for somethings to simply be done and not asked for? I'm wondering what the general consensus on this could be.

So long story short, my ex and I broke up 3 weeks ago. We were together a year and I loved him so much. I still do and I miss him so much but I haven’t messaged or spoken to him. I keep hoping maybe he’ll reach out since he’s the one who said the relationship was stressing him out so I took offence to it and blocked him on social media. I unblocked him a week ago but I can see he’s been keeping me blocked on Instagram and Facebook.

The human brain lives for 7 minutes after death and plays its happiest memories. 7 minutes of my life replaying, the happiest 7 minutes of my life. For some this thought may be comforting but a part of me found this thought massively terrifying, this may seem odd to you, but now do this, close your eyes and try to think of your happiest memories. Some of you may have easily thought of some memories that would fill your 7 minutes or you may be like me the first time I tried this, a blank empty mind. I remember the feeling when I couldn’t think of my so called happiest memories, it made me start to think if I had in my 14 years on this planet done anything that made me truly happy.
00/0/2021, a night spent with my mum and oldest sister scout, a night of laughter and smiles. Nothing special, just a night with 2 people I love, joking around, singing and losing breath from laughing too hard. Even just thinking about that night makes me smile. This memory made me realize I've been truly happy before, in fact I have a lot, but I look over those small memories in search of the big moments, the moments that we think are the most important. Maybe we look for moments of success or moments where we are with lots of people or maybe we look at moments where something big happened like a party or a concert but in search of those moments we miss the ones that maybe actually made us the happiest, the moments where you’re in the living room singing harry styles with your sister while your mum laughs at you.
Humans are often culprits of overlooking the small moments or taking them for granted, man what I would give to go back to moments in the past where i’m not worrying about anything, not thinking about anything else going on, just me, with people I love, having a good time and living in the moment. I now worry about if I used all those moments up and I never got to appreciate them while they were happening, this thought reminded me of a show I watched and a line that’s in it, “I wish there was a way to know we’re in the good old days while we are in them.” This quote again made me think about the human tendency to not actually appreciate what we have and we look to the future or we compare ourselves to others or we think about the bad stuff and skip the fact of how lucky we are to have anything. It’s a hard thing to comprehend what we really have while we’re here, facing challenges and hard times, but I decided for a week I was going to try to brush over the bad stuff and just appreciate how precious this crazy and beautiful earth really is and just see how much a positive attitude changes things.
Throughout this week life seemed different, now some may know what i mean by this some may not but this week felt like when you're lying in bed, thinking about life and you realize you love it, of course the next morning when you wake up tired and have to go to school or work that appreciation instantly goes away but I found out that that feeling doesn’t have to go away. Monday morning, lots of people's least favorite moment of the week -- including me -- but I woke up, felt my favorite soft blanket wrapped around me. Got up and hopped in the shower, felt the warm water against my face with the only noise being heard are my own thoughts, seeing my friends who never fail to brighten my day, go to class where I can just be myself and not worry, even smaller things that day like dancing in the middle class. I started to really notice how much this stuff means to me and how someday I'm going to miss those days and say something like “life was easy back then.” or “I miss those days.” There is something poetic about how there is beauty in anything if you look at it the right way, I now start to wonder if I’ve been looking at everything from the wrong angle, but maybe there's even beauty in that and the way that we don’t know till later when everything is clear to us.
“Find ecstasy in life, the mere sense of living is joy enough.” Life is filled with these odd little balls of joy and beauty that we often miss as our minds are looking into the future or focusing on every bad little detail of life which in the end really doesn't matter and holds no significance in the short or long run. I think everyone at some point, at least just for a bit, needs to purposely make their mind brush over that silly stuff that we should be ignoring and appreciate what we really have because at some point we won’t have it and all we’ll have are the memories, so lets make sure that those are good memories, that our 7 minutes will be filled these flashbacks and not just have a couple sprinkled in and around before we are gone forever. I know for a fact I want to experience and appreciate those 7 minutes before it ends up the last time I can remember them before it turns into darkness and peace. “There's a lot of beauty in ordinary things, isn’t that kinda the point.”

Hey yall so for context I got married a couple years back and moved states to my husbands hometown. It was extremely difficult moving at such a young age and not knowing anyone here and i really struggled in many aspects of my life the first year or two. This isn’t capturing the severity of it but I was rlly depressed lol. Not to mention we briefly lived with his parents (abt 8months) before literally escaping (and yes I use the word escape) and moving out. I am no contact with my husbands immediate family except occasionally seeing them at holidays and bigger family events and life is better and less stressful that way for all of us. I can get into the reasons why but I promise you it’s completely valid and it’s either no contact or I called the police and cps so I’ll leave it at that. That being said, I am extremely close to my husbands extended family. Especially his three cousins. Their mom is like a second mother to me and we live down the street from each other because of how close we all are. Or so I thought. One of his cousins (all my age or younger) decided to completely cut me off. And It was immediately noticeable because we all usually hang out regularly. Every weekend if not multiple times a week. We grab food sometimes or go out to the mall or school events or we just hang out at their house talking till late at night and having so much fun. I genuinely love these girls and felt like I finally had close friends for the first time in my life. We talk about our innermost thoughts, vent to each other, and just behave as a usual girl group of friends do and I absolutely loved it. They’re pretty much the only friends I have here despite having moved over three years ago and I never felt like I needed to find others because my new relatives provided me with such a great friendship. One of the girls (I’d say I was actually closest to her) decided to cut me off. And I noticed right away because no texts came weeks after she decided to stay silent at my bday dinner. The entire. Evening. . When I’d drop by the house like I always do she’d never come out her room. I heard her mom at one point yelling at her to come greet me at least and she refused. I ignored it but it really started to hurt me. Especially when their parents started asking why I haven’t been around like we usually hang out. I asked the other siblings and they brushed it off saying how weird we were being and we should just talk if something is bothering us or whatever. But I noticed they stopped reaching out as well. A few days ago it was her graduation ceremony. And despite us making plans for over a year about the bouquet she wanted me to make, decorating her huge grad party, all these things, I was not invited or even made aware of the event until they posted it. That was the ultimate slap since her mom had asked me weeks before to make her a grad cake for the party (over 100people attending). After her ceremony she texted me asking to speak to me in a very hostile message, mentioning how it will be in private as “it’s no one’s business”. I agreed and went over after my shift and she called me to her room and sat down and proceeded to say the most hurtful things I’ve ever heard. She preyed on every insecurity she could think of and started to say how since the day I moved here she’s never felt comfortable around me and she shouldn’t have to put herself thru this tension and stress to be around me and how every conversation we‘be ever had has added no benefit to her life. She said she feels uneasy whenever I come over and that she just decided she doesn’t want to fake having to like me anymore and I can’t do anything to change that. And she said this all smirking and smiling as I had tears pouring down my face. It’s been three years of slumber parties shopping birthdays holidays family events weekends pool days everything u could think of we’ve experienced it together and those are some of my happiest times. All for her to say it was all fake? I kept asking her how she could say such hurtful things when I see her truly as a younger sister and one of my closest friends and after I’ve opened up to them so much over the years. I swear I even told them how grateful I am for their friendship and how I struggle to make friends because I feel like others judge me or make me feel bad for my personality. But I never in all these years felt that with them. Not to mention that I am literally married to their cousin. I’m the closest thing to a sister in law. How could she throw all that away? And she just shrugged and said none of that matters and I don’t get to decide who she speaks to. I asked if she really means she doesn’t want to speak to me anymore and she just chuckled and said ya. “It’s better I don’t see you or that you don’t come around here and make me uncomfortable.” A lot more was said but for the sake of reading I’ll leave it out. I left her room sobbing and she slammed her door shut behind me. Her sister was in the room next door and did not say anything. the rest of the family was asleep or in bed. I cried all night and literally feel Ike I’m going thru a breakup or something. My poor husband is so confused and mad but we have no idea what to do. It’s more deep rooted since I’ve literally bonded so much with this family I love them all truly and now Ifeel crazy like I imagined these three years of friendship. i keep thinking back and doubting every second I spent there. I have so many pictures in my apartment of all of us and thousands on my phone of us just hanging out and I keep looking at them and doubting if she hated me all those times we talked.
Her mother called me the next morning saying how her husband told her what he heard of the convo and how they were both so so sorry for what she said. She said her daughter has done this before with her own brother and didn’t speak to him for weeks but I told her this is different. She could very well go the rest of our lives not speaking and there goes my future of comfort in my only family here. She said she will talk to her and get her to apologize but I don’t want to even hear that. If, however, you are affected yourselves then you will wake up and take stock of yourselves. And yet, one day could be as peaceful as the other with the right attitude towards Me, if you would enter into a Father and child relationship with Me, which would assure you of the Father's constant protection.... Therefore, don't be surprised if time and again you humans are rudely awakened by most significant events.... don't ask yourselves why a God can be so cruel but know that your indifference and obstinacy prompt Me to use these very methods which appear cruel to you, and yet are only intended for your own good. FTM had my baby boy at 39 weeks and 6 days! The first sign was period like cramps throughout the night. Woke up and felt super constipated. It wasn’t super obvious that I was feeling contractions and not constipation at first. Took me about an hour to realize it was labor as the contractions got worse. Went into labor around 730 am and had him at 11pm the same day. No epidural but used the nitrous oxide. The contractions were painful but honestly more uncomfortable than anything. It is so hard to find a position to get through them easily but for me, the nitrous oxide REALLY helped and I didn’t feel I needed an epidural at all.
I had my husband and mom with me and we hung out in the hospital room from 10am until delivery was over. The day surprisingly went by SO FAST. It was nice to be able to get up and move around freely and we ordered room service a few times and it was actually pretty good! All the nurses were amazing and so super friendly.
Okay but here’s the thing - the pushing. My labor is broken up into two parts in my head- the contractions and then the PUSHING. In hindsight, I realize I was completely unprepared for what I was about to go through. I pushed for two hours, which apparently isn’t even that long for a first time mom. And let me tell you - I did not expect it to hurt as much as it did. I gave birth four days ago and I’m still in shock at the experience. I know everyone says how painful it is….but that was something else. If you are a FTM planning to do no epidural, spend some time preparing your pain tolerance however you can. I wish I had squeezed more ice cubes or done whatever other things the internet says will help. It was such a crazy experience there were points I thought I really truly couldn’t do it (obviously at that point you have no choice 😂) but I really felt like I was going to pass out from the pain. I can’t put into words what I was feeling to give it justice. Just try to prepare yourself. My mother, who has had three kids with epidurals, told me she couldn’t feel any of the things I was describing. And those things were the most painful parts. I don’t say this to encourage people to get an epidural - I say it so you can be more prepared than me. I feel like I was blind sided even though everyone says how painful it is.
Something else I wasn’t prepared for - the blood. It is a lot. Today I stood up from the toilet and a blood clot the size of a baseball fell out of me. (I called my OB, not of concern due to no bleeding following). They say clots the size of a ping pong ball or smaller are to be expected. It’s crazy. They just fall right out. I’m filling adult diapers with more blood than I expected and my vagina is currently unrecognizable. At the hospital they constantly checked my uterus by pressing down and clots of blood just flew out. Something no one ever told me beforehand.
That all being said - I would do it again in a heartbeat. I type this out as my beautiful baby is skin to skin with me sleeping on my chest. Child birth was an amazing experience even if parts of it were extremely difficult. The most difficult thing I have done in my life. The recovery is more than I anticipated, and I am so grateful to have my husband helping. It really is amazing what our bodies are capable of.
Our baby is happy and healthy now, but we did have some unexpected hiccups along the way. Our second night at the hospital was not easy and I thank God my baby is okay. There is some trauma I am still processing as a newly postpartum mom and I look back on my experience in awe that this happens every day thousands of times a day. Women have their own birth stories of challenges and feats along the way that they live with forever, and it is just seen as something so normal or ordinary for a woman to do. I have found such a new respect for all moms out there. This has been a crazy experience already and I am just in shock trying to process at how much love I feel for this tiny human I brought into the world. So surreal. Being a mom really is the best feeling I’ve ever had.

Me and my long distance girlfriend started dating about 8 months ago. When I tell you I've never been more in love I mean it. This girl is the woman of my dreams and I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life before this. To give some context around our half year mark she had started to treat me differently. She went from a loving and comforting person to someone who was constantly hurting me. I'm a very insecure person I've lived my life constantly being ridiculed by friends and other people in my life. This girl had finally made me confident in myself but she switched up and would tease and make fun of the things I was most insecure of after I told how much it was hurting me. One day she did something that hurt me so bad I got off all social media and completely disappeared for about a week. After I recovered I got back online to talk to her again and told her that I wanted to change. I didn't want to be who I was. I wanted to be less insecure and all in all better. So we started distancing away from each other so we could focus on ourselves. But did NOT breakup. We still talked just not nearly as much. After about a month and a half I decided that I wanted to go back to how we used to be and start talking frequently again. We were both very happy to do so. This was yesterday. Today I was on TikTok when I got an anonymous message telling me she had cheated on me. My heart immediately sank because she had a past of talking to multiple guys at once. So I confronted her. She immediately admitted that yes she was talking to a guy. This would normally be okay but she hadn't told me about him. She had also told him she was single. This immediately made me feel just as insecure as I was before if not worse. She told me that after we started talking again she told him she had a bf. He then got upset and blocked her number. I (36F) have been seeing this man (37M) for right over 2 months. Things have been pretty great. We don’t get to see each other as often as I would like to because he works a full time job and is running his own business. I respect it and really love how ambitious he is so it’s something I can live with.
We see each other no more than once a week but spend plenty of time on the phone in some way (text/call/FT).
Overall, I am very happy where this is going and I think he’s absolutely fantastic. I just have a few things that are bothering me and I need to try to work them out, which led me here.
I have only ever been love bombed by anyone I have ever seen/dated. I have never had a healthy relationship, even including family. After my most recent ex and I broke up 2 years ago, I really spent time trying to work on myself before I ventured back out there.
I finally decided to jump on a dating app and I seen him right away and was immediately interested. Had the app for about 15 minutes before I knew I just wanted to talk to him. It all moved quickly and we met in person and now here we are.
I really enjoy this man and I asked him if he wanted to be my boyfriend last week. He said he absolutely sees that being a possibility in the future but due to our schedules right now he would prefer to continue at the pace we are now and continue to learn about each other.
Honestly, it stung a little but I also really appreciated how mature his response was and I do agree that it is better to move slower. No need to rush anything since we can only spend limited time together right now.
But now I can’t stop questioning if he is actually into me that much or if I’m so used to being love bombed that this slow pace thing feels like rejection?
At what point do we revisit this? I don’t mind moving slow, but what is a reasonable amount of time to commit to someone? We are already sleeping together so to me, I don’t know if I fully see what the difference would be unless he is still testing the waters with other women.
He also hasn’t mentioned me to anyone he works with, he seems to be very very close to them even on a non work level, but hasn’t mention me yet. The only reason i know this is I dropped him off at work after he dropped of his car and he seemed so anxious about it when I dropped him off. I went to kiss him and again he was weird. I text him later and said “I hope I’m not a secret because I think I’m too good for that”
He responded saying “you are way too great to be secret, but I haven’t mentioned you to them yet.” He said he’s private but when he tells stories about his job, it seems they are close. Should I be offended? Or am I just used to unhealthy men ready to marry me on the second date.
I also question if I just have a ridiculous amount of relationship anxiety and it’s messing up my view. I just need someone else to give me some insight. I don’t talk to my friends about anything other than the surface stuff regarding him because I don’t like when people are too close, their opinions are too tainted by the friendship.
