2024.05.19 07:52 Overall_Ladder8885 Course materials without actually being enrolled in the course?

As the title says. I was wondering if there was any way of getting access to the the canvas course materials of some courses without actually being enrolled in the course? Specifically ECE classes like ECE 420, 431 and 320?
I really like how a lot of ECE courses are taught and want to study them over summer, but dont intend to claim credit for any of said course.I just need the knowledge for some personal projects.
Any advice/info would be appreciated, thanks!

2024.05.19 07:52 hi20cm should I do again?

What happened to me was fucking hot. I don't have much of a sex life outside of my marriage, but when I'm out of my home area, I log into grinddr and feeld to see what guys or couples are in the area. Last Thursday, I was at the mall, which is more than 20km from home, and I started chatting with some guys, for a while, until I ended up chatting only with a young and versatile guy. First he sent me some photos of his penis, ass and body, and I sent him mine. Until then, everything was normal, but then, I gave him access to my private photos and he accessed mine. That's when I realized what a mistake I had made. He was a boy who lives near my house in the same street, with his parents, with whom we have exchanged a few words, and surely he would also know me and my family. I didn't know what to do, so I just wrote sorry F...(his name) and he replied Hello M.... (my name) I apologized to him, and asked him to forget this, to which he replied that now who had seen me was more interested in us meeting in person. I froze for a moment, because he is young, because he knows my wife, and because then I would be forced to see him almost always. But on the other hand, I thought about the photos that he had sent me and I liked that ass with little hair and that long, thin penis. In the end I told him to come home on Saturday morning since my wife has a class with activities for her and our baby. I am 46, I was excited but afraid. He is 19 years old, he arrived that morning also a little nervous, it could be seen in his voice, I invited him in and then I told him we should go to a TV room, I asked him if he wanted something to drink and he was speechless. , I told him that I was nervous too, I took his hand and put it on my penis, over my pants. This was the key that unlocked everything, he began to rub me harder and his mouth kissed me, his tongue searched for mine and I let myself go. My mouth also kissed him and I liked how his tongue tangled with mine. My cock was already feeling his grip and it was already hard but rolled up under my pants. While we were kissing, I took out my cock and his. My cock was already erect, pointing towards him, colliding with his flaccid cock, I hugged him so that our bodies made complete contact and I kissed him. I felt his mouth on mine, our tongues together, I felt my hands on his buttocks, gripping them tightly, his hands on my buttocks, our breasts were in contact, our bellies, our penises, our feet... it was an incredible sensation. . Then I kneeled down and put his flaccid penis in my mouth. I licked it, sucked it, and jerked it off. His cock was getting big and hard but after a few inputs and outputs of my mouth he moaned and cumed up inside my mouth. He apologized, but I caressed his buttocks and I continued sucking his cock while I swallowed his cum until his cock stopped pulsing. I stood in front of him and we kissed again. This sensation is very strange, I have kissed very few men and in general I have not felt anything. This young boy's mouth was different, it excited me. After kissing his lips, I guided him down with my hands until he was kneeling in front of me. He just looked at me, this made me get even harder. I grabbed his head with one hand, my cock with the other and brought it closer to his mouth, he opened it a little and part of my cock went in. Now both my hands were holding his head while the tip of my cock was in his mouth. Little by little I was sinking my cock deeper into his mouth, although part of it didn't fit. I fucked his mouth for a while and then I released his head and sat on the living room couch. He didn't waste any time, he walked on all fours towards me and continued sucking my cock. After a while, I told him to lie down on the couch, I sucked his cock and balls again, but they were still flaccid, I raised one of his legs and then the other, and licked his ass, this one is clear and has little hair along her slit and around her ass hole, it was delicious, I licked it, I kissed it, I put my tongue in, then I put a finger in... My cock wanted it, it was very hard. I put on a condom and lube while I continued licking his ass hole. I felt how his ass hole throbbed and opened with my tongue. I brought my cock closer to his ass hole and inserted the tip and a bit more. I felt how his anus tightened and imprisoned 1/4 of my cock inside. At this moment he told me "slowly, it hurts, it's the first time I've been fucked." "Calm down baby" I told him, I brought my face closer to his and kissed him while I let my cock out. I put the boy on his side and I behind him, I caressed him from behind and I put a lot of lubricant on his hole, until I felt that he relaxed and was opening to let my fingers enter with lubricant. I put the tip again at the entrance of his anus, and this time I went very slowly, millimeter by millimeter, I found no resistance, he moaned while my penis little by little was already more than half inside, then until his buttocks were completely leaning on my lap, with my entire penis inside her beautiful ass. One of my hands held his hip while the other grabbed his head and leaned it towards me, to kiss him while he fucked him. I fucked him slowly at first and increased the intensity, I felt how his buttocks were hitting my legs, how the walls of his anus were squeezing my cock. I didn't last long, I cummed on her ass intensely, we stayed in that position for a while, until my penis came out, with the condom a little loose and hanging. I sat down and he settled down, staying next to me, lying facing me. I was captivated by the way he looked and his young body. His penis was still flaccid, I leaned over to caress it. He apologized for not having an erection and he told me that he was nervous, he also said that this was his first time being fucked by a man and that he had been incredible, that he had liked it a lot. At 46 years old, I had had the honor for the first time in my life of taking someone's virginity. While we were getting dressed, I told him that if he liked it, we could do it again another day. Before leaving the house, he came up and kissed me, with his tongue searching for mine, I opened the door and he left. Should I do it again? Until now this game with other men was just that, a game. This boy has something that attracts me. On the one hand he scares me and on the other hand he excites me

2024.05.19 07:48 CandidateVast4988 Help! Roommate feels unwanted!

Hello people of reddit, I have come for some advice. These names are fictitious, but me and my roommate, Eloise are having issues with Charlie. All of us are in college right now. Charlie and I lived together last year, and we’ve been close friends for about 2 years. We moved in with Eloise this year. Basically, Charlie has been hanging out with her boyfriend and some of her other friends a lot more than she’s been hanging out with Eloise and I. Naturally, Eloise and I became closer friends as we both spent a lot of time in the apartment. Charlie became very distant and didn’t really talk to me but she didn’t talk to Eloise at all. Around the time that Charlie found out her boyfriend was going to an out-of-state college, she seemed to become more nervous that Eloise and I were growing closer. Eventually, Charlie told me that she felt as if Eloise and I were closer than Charlie was with either of us. She also said that it felt as if Eloise and I didn’t want her there when the three of us were hanging out. Throughout the year, Eloise and I have invited her to various things we were doing. If we were watching a tv show, we would invite her or if we were going to get coffee, we would invite her to that as well. When I talked to Charlie, she told me she felt like she wasn’t wanted. Charlie also told me she felt like she wasn’t close to Eloise but hasn’t said anything to Eloise. Charlie’s solution is to spend more quality time with me. When Eloise and I do invite her, she declines because she said it feels like an afterthought. Charlie still thinks that’s the correct thing to do in this situation. This summer is incredibly busy for me, I’m going to be working, taking two summer classes, volunteering, and studying for the LSAT. I don’t have much time to hang out and whatever time I do have would be for my family. I compromised by telling her that we could hang out during the summer a few times and FaceTiming, but she doesn’t think that this qualifies as compromise. She also told me that for her, she needs to be on constant contact with me in order to feel close to me. I personally don’t feel this way. I’ve been best friends with people I haven’t seen in months, but we still catch up as if nothing happened. Charlie’s needed reassurance that we’re still friends a lot, such as in gift-giving, words of affirmation and quality time. I can’t give a lot of those things to her because frankly, I’m tired of giving her the reassurance she wants in our friendship. When Charlie and I were discussing, she also told me she felt as if it was normal to feel as if not spending quality time together meant that we were having problems or if we were just distancing. I feel as if Charlie is asking me to meet all of her needs without reciprocating by meeting my needs as well. We have to live together next year, is there any advice on how to navigate? We want to stay friends with her, but I need some advice on how to talk to her about her insecurities about our friendship between the three of us.

2024.05.19 07:46 GmailsAreCute How important is keeping private to you as a small business owner?

Hi,
I'm 16, from the US. I have been organizing a start-up for about a month with some other older, and wealthier businessmen then me, and I'm confident about the opportunities I have been given.
We haven't even started yet and we have some people contacting us for our services.
Recently, I was emailed by a news channel that wanted to interview me, and I thought this would be a good opportunity. However, a lot of people, (that I know, and online) say keeping all your stuff private Is a lot better than having it out there.
Normally I would agree, but, the start up is a media company (think of VaynerX) and I feel like doing this would actually be a good opportunity for getting clients.
I also wanted to begin a personal brand around the 40-60k a month mark, because I feel like people would want to watch content about a 16 year old doing that well in business, so my guess would be the end of summer.
But again, I don't know how damaging having your person out on the internet really is, or if its really a big deal at all.
What are your guys thoughts?

🔗Breathable Gray Lightweight Car Cover for Snow

I recently purchased the Budge Lite Car Cover, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer for me. First off, the material is super lightweight and breathable, which means my car doesn't get all stuffy under there. Plus, it's easy to handle and store when I'm not using it.
One thing that really stood out to me is how well it fits my car. The elastic hem ensures a snug fit, so even on a windy day, it stays put. And speaking of wind, the antenna patch is a nice touch that keeps my antenna safe and sound.
Now, let's talk about some drawbacks. While the cover does a decent job of keeping most things like dust and leaves off my car, it's not entirely waterproof. After a rain, I noticed some water seeping in, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this Budge Lite Car Cover. It's lightweight, easy to handle, and provides a nice snug fit for my car. If you're looking for something to protect your vehicle from the elements, this might just be the perfect cover for you.

🔗Universal Fit Car Windshield Snow Cover and Side Mirror Covers

https://preview.redd.it/f6d5x240nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=285410d0828db6e6deb04f87d3caa99d69b762d1
I recently tried the Asz Car Windshield Cover for Ice and Snow, and I have to say, it made my winters so much more convenient. The thickened material is excellent at keeping out snow and ice, and I love that it comes with side mirror covers for added protection. The magnetic embedded design means it's super easy to put on and take off, which is a game-changer when I'm in a hurry.
However, one minor issue is that it's a little bulky, so it's not the most space-efficient option out there. Overall, I highly recommend the Asz Car Windshield Cover for anyone looking to simplify their winter mornings! .

🔗All-Weather Heavy Duty Car Cover for Sedans

https://preview.redd.it/tzpw7sl0nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=129bb66cdaf87d2c75f1775f74081db2f1a7e0d1
Last fall, I got my hands on the Armor All Heavy Duty Premium Car Cover for my sedan, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. The first thing that caught my attention was its promise of all-weather protection. Living in a region with unpredictable weather, this was a godsend! The cover's heavy-duty material and strong stitching have indeed safeguarded my car against various unpredictable conditions, from sudden downpours to blistering sun.
One feature that stood out was the cover's breathable material. I was concerned about moisture buildup causing mold and mildew on my vehicle's finish. However, the Armor All cover has proven effective in preventing such issues, making it worth every penny. Additionally, the cover's 6-point high wind protection system ensures that it stays in place during stormy days, providing me with a peace of mind I never had with my previous covers.
However, there is a small con. The cover can be cumbersome to carry around due to its size and weight. A built-in storage bag or a slightly lighter design would have been a great addition. Despite this downside, I find the Armor All Heavy Duty Premium Car Cover to be an excellent investment for any car owner who values their vehicle's appearance and needs dependable protection against harsh weather elements.

🔗Budge Lite Car Cover for Sedans Up to 16'8

https://preview.redd.it/1lelklw0nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fef3706a6bdc7c67ccf50471a0e55a0fecc9a7ed
I can't stress enough how crucial it is to protect your car from the elements, and the Budge Lite Car Cover has been a lifesaver in this regard. As someone who keeps their vehicle in a garage with a metal roof, I know all too well how dust, soot, and debris can accumulate and cause damage to a car's finish. I've been using this cover for over five years on multiple cars, and it's been a game-changer. I've been amazed at how effectively it keeps my car clean and dust-free, even in a very dirty environment.
The key to keeping my cars in pristine condition is constant maintenance and proper storage. I make sure to cover my vehicle each time I park it, and I've found that the Budge Lite Car Cover is the perfect solution for my needs. The single layer of polypropylene is lightweight and easy to use, making it an ideal choice for indoor storage and occasional outdoor usage against dust, dirt, and debris.
One of the standout features of this car cover is its breathability. Constructed with a single layer of polypropylene, the Budge Lite Cover allows air to circulate, which helps to reduce condensation. This is particularly important for preventing mold and mildew from forming on your car's surfaces. Additionally, the elasticized hem and built-in grommets secure the cover all-year round, ensuring that it stays in place even during strong winds.
I've also used the car cover outside on weekends or for temporary coverings, and I've been impressed with its ability to keep my car dry and spotless, even in heavy rainstorms. The water just beads up and rolls off, which is a testament to the quality of the material.
However, I will say that the fit can vary since it's a universal cover, so sometimes it might be too tight or too loose, depending on your car's size and shape. And despite being lightweight and easy to clean with just a hose, some users may find that the lack of a soft inner lining can catch dust and other debris, which could scratch your car's finish.
Overall, the Budge Lite Car Cover is a fantastic product that's perfect for indoor storage and occasional outdoor use. Its lightweight design and breathability make it a great choice for keeping your car clean and protected from the elements, and the additional features, like the elasticized hem and built-in grommets, make it a secure and user-friendly option. At its budget-friendly price point, this car cover is a no-brainer for anyone looking to protect their vehicle from dust, debris, and damage.

🔗High Quality 3-Layer Car Cover with UV Protection

https://preview.redd.it/ovqoqjf1nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ccd5246809f4cb664c243f5bfacca4520b4cf00
I recently purchased the Leader Accessories Car Cover for my vehicle, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. The three-layer fabric is incredibly breathable, providing excellent air circulation which has helped to keep my car dry and free from moisture damage.
One feature that truly stands out is the UV protection it offers, ensuring my vehicle's paint remains safe from those harmful sunrays. Additionally, the elastic hem provides a snug fit, keeping the cover in place even during windy conditions due to its attached strap and buckle.
However, despite its many great qualities, I found that the cover doesn't seem to offer much resistance to dust. Nonetheless, the package it comes in is convenient and includes an easy-to-use storage bag.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Leader Accessories Car Cover, especially for those seeking a reliable, well-fitting cover with outstanding UV protection!

🔗Durable All-Weather Car Cover with Door Zipper & Reflective Stripes

https://preview.redd.it/9q8exfq1nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6c9c2652918a821704adb6cb2015d24e32b6759
I recently stumbled upon the Nilight Waterproof Car Cover and decided to give it a shot. What caught my eye was its premium 210T Oxford cloth, which I can confirm is both lightweight and incredibly durable. The fabric is waterproof, heat insulating, and breathable, making it perfect for all weather conditions.
One feature that stood out is the unique door zipper on the driver's side - it allows me quick and convenient access to my car without having to remove the entire cover. Additionally, the windproof straps and elastic hem help keep the cover snug even in strong winds, and the combination lock offers added security.
One downside I noticed is that while the reflective stripes are great for visibility at night, they can be a bit overly bright and reflective during the day when you're driving.
Overall, this all-weather car cover has done a great job protecting my car from the elements, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid, reliable solution to keep their vehicle clean and safe from the elements.

🔗Favoto Waterproof All-Weather Sedan Car Cover

https://preview.redd.it/uaklsf42nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8952a02b07290c0a20c8e1224a77a2ca4059fb18
I want to talk about my car cover experience, especially with the Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover. As a car owner, I've learned the importance of protecting my vehicle from the harsh elements, both natural and man-made. The Favoto cover has been a game-changer for me.
Firstly, the driver's side zipper design is such a convenience. It makes getting in and out of the car a breeze, even when it's covered. The night reflection stripes are an added bonus - they make sure my car's contour is visible even in the dark, reducing the risk of accidents.
The Favoto cover is made of heavy-duty, 5-layer material that's both durable and waterproof. The cotton lining ensures no scratches on my car's paint. Unlike some other covers made of PE and PEVA, this one won't tear easily.
The best part? This cover provides comprehensive protection against all types of weather elements, from dust and snow to acid rain, bird droppings, and even pollution. And let's not forget about securing it - the elasticated edge along with the 4 securing straps under the car keep it in place, even on windy days.
In the real world, your car can face potential damages from weather, animals, and even people. Car covers like this one are a great investment to keep your car safe and sound. The Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover offers excellent protection against all these threats.
And finally, I must mention how easy it is to store and carry this cover. It folds neatly into its storage bag and doesn't take up much space. This makes it perfect for those times when you need to take your cover with you.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a high-quality, all-weather car cover that's easy to use and provides complete protection, the Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover is definitely worth considering.

🔗Motor Trend Snow-Proof Car Cover with Storage Bag and Lock

https://preview.redd.it/1p5kduo2nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=190fce66b0c3d35b99185416c27c2c2085a3b8e1
I recently got my hands on the Motor Trend All Season Weatherwear 1-Poly Layer Snow Proof, Water Resistant Car Cover Size XL1 - Fits Up to 210". Having a car that's subjected to harsh weather conditions, I was in need of something that could offer protection and durability. Since trying it out, I must say I am pleasantly surprised.
This cover has an extra durable polyester construction which indeed stands up well against various elements including snow, dust, wind, UV rays, and even minor scratchings. Not to mention, it also keeps the interior cool on sunny days. It even comes with a free storage bag and lock, which is a nice addition.
However, on the flip side, the material seems to be quite thin despite its claims. This might be a concern in areas with extreme wind conditions as it could potentially tear. Additionally, although the elastic hem at the bottom provides a snug fit, I found it a bit of a struggle to put on and remove.
In conclusion, the Motor Trend All Season Weatherwear Car Cover is a great option for those in search of an affordable, all-season car cover. While it may not be the most robust option out there, it gets the job done in terms of protecting your vehicle from most common weather conditions.

Buyer's Guide

In areas with heavy snowfall, protecting your vehicle from harsh winter conditions becomes crucial. Car covers for snow offer excellent protection against snowfall, freezing temperatures, and harsh UV rays. By using a car cover tailored to withstand snow, you can help prevent damage caused by prolonged exposure to winter elements.

Features to Consider

https://preview.redd.it/bgqci603nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7aa357635b6df75a160fa2579a4c34c3b68f2dd9
  • Waterproof and Snow-Resistant Material: Look for a car cover made of a waterproof and snow-resistant material to ensure optimal protection during heavy snowfall.
  • Durability: Ensure that the car cover is made of a durable material capable of withstanding harsh winter conditions without tearing or fading.
  • Elastic Edging and Adjustable Straps: These features provide a secure fit around your vehicle, helping to prevent water and snow from entering your vehicle.
  • Breathability: Select a cover that allows moisture to escape, preventing mold and mildew growth on your vehicle's surface.

Considerations for Choosing a Car Cover

Before purchasing a car cover for snow, consider the size of your vehicle, additional features you may require, and the price range that fits your budget. It is also essential to check manufacturer warranties and customer reviews for the best options in the market.

General Advice for Car Cover Care

  • Regularly inspect and clean your car cover to maintain optimal performance.
  • Store your car cover in a dry, well-ventilated area when not in use to prevent mold and mildew growth.
  • If your vehicle will be exposed to snow for an extended period, consider using an additional layer of protection, such as snow mats or a windshield cover, for added security.
Car covers for snow provide essential protection for your vehicle during harsh winter conditions, helping to maintain its appearance and performance. By considering the features and selecting a high-quality, durable option, you can ensure your vehicle remains safe and secure throughout the season.

FAQ

1. What are the benefits of using a car cover in the snow?

Car covers provide protection against snow, ice, and harsh winter elements, preventing damage to your vehicle's paint, windows, and other components. They also keep your car warm and dry, save time on defrosting or scraping ice, and help maintain your vehicle's value and appearance.

2. How do car covers help in removing snow?

https://preview.redd.it/paa1rxs3nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ca1cb7d978070cd52c41efdff6183ee35f81259
Car covers prevent snow from accumulating on your vehicle, which means there's less snow to remove when you use the cover. It's generally easier and quicker to brush off a car cover than to scrape ice off your vehicle's surface.

3. How do I choose the right car cover for my vehicle?

In addition to fit, consider factors like material, thickness, waterproofing, UV protection, and ease of use. Some covers are more durable, better at shedding water, or easier to put on and take off. You may also want to consider options with added features like integrated straps and grommets for enhanced security.

4. What materials are best for winter car covers?

Look for materials that offer good waterproofing and insulation, as well as resistance to UV damage. Common materials for car covers include polyester, polypropylene, and polyethylene. Some higher-end covers may also incorporate layers of microfiber or fleece for added insulation and protection.

https://preview.redd.it/v9jt7af4nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28f81788a633f31452570e59e3bc750c2b33d92c

5. How do I install a car cover for snow protection?

Before installing the cover, clear your vehicle of snow and ice. Place the cover over your car, making sure it covers all necessary areas (including the roof, windows, and mirrors). Secure the cover by using built-in straps, grommets, or clips provided with the cover. Make sure all edges are snug and free of gaps to ensure the best protection from snow and ice.

6. Can car covers be used for long-term storage in cold weather?

Yes, car covers can be used to protect your vehicle from the harsh elements during long-term storage in the winter. Make sure the cover is properly fitted, secured, and periodically checked for any damage or wear. In addition to the cover, use a suitable storage location that provides protection from moisture, wind, and other environmental factors.

7. Are car covers resistant to ice accumulation and damage?

The best-quality car covers are designed to be water-resistant and windproof, reducing the risk of ice accumulation and damage. However, it's still important to remove accumulated snow and ice from the cover promptly, especially after significant snowfalls, to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance.

8. How often should I clean my car cover in the winter?

Car covers should be cleaned periodically to ensure they remain effective at protecting your vehicle. In winter, this may mean more frequent cleanings to remove salt, grime, and other debris. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning and maintenance, as some materials may require specific care instructions.

9. Can I use the same car cover for summer and winter protection?

While some car covers are designed to provide year-round protection, not all will offer optimal performance in both summer and winter. Materials that are breathable and lightweight may be ideal for hot weather, while thicker, more insulated materials can be better for protecting your vehicle in the cold and snow. Consider the specific needs and conditions of your region and vehicle when selecting a cover that will provide the best protection throughout the year.

10. How can I store my car cover when not in use?

Car covers should be properly stored and maintained to prolong their lifespan. After removing the cover from your vehicle, gently brush off any loose snow, dirt, or debris. Fold or roll the cover neatly, and store it in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area to prevent mildew or damage from moisture. Following manufacturer's instructions on storage can also help keep your cover in optimal condition for extended use.

2024.05.19 07:46 Evaloke It’s the worst.

TA is all fun, until it affects you mentally. When the thought of having to leave them destroys you. Until you can’t sit through the whole day because you want to be in their class. Looking for them everywhere you are in school. Being afraid to bother them. When they start acting different and you think it’s your fault. When you feel like they know you’re attached. When you feel like you’ve been to clingy and you think they don’t like you anymore. When they don’t react to things the same way they did in the past. When they don’t even laugh with you anymore. They don’t say hi to you anymore. They never talk to you unless you talk to them first. When see you see other students with them and they show way more love and attention. The ungoldly amount of jealousy that takes over. Wanting their attention 24/7. Praying that they even care about you. Doing things to gain their attention. Hopping they’ll never forget you. Knowing you’ll never compare to others in their eyes. Feeling like a problem in their life that’ll never go away until you have to leave. Missing them every second of the day. Crying constantly over them. Hating yourself because you hate that you love someone so much. Wishing they were in your life forever. Wishing you could maintain a relationship with them. Them taking so much time out for you, and then still feeling like they hate you. Making them worried, and you know they are so you feel bad. All the memories that get tainted over one bad experience. Wanting to run into their arms and cry whenever anything goes wrong.
It is the worst. I couldn’t ever do this again. But summers almost here, and she’s leaving for a new school. So that’s that. The end of a chapter. I will miss her, she’s the one that kept me alive.

2024.05.19 07:44 DrAnnMaria What time of day would you like to see professional development in the summer?

We received a grant from the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources program. YAY! We'll be offering online two-hour professional development for teachers in North and South Dakota in August before school starts up. There will also be additional workshops during the school year - an onsite one for which we pay travel expenses, and a second online workshop. Teachers who attend get graduate credit. My question is - what time should we schedule the summer workshop? I was thinking somewhere around 4-6 pm or 6-8 because teachers might have summer jobs, be doing activities with their kids, etc. What would be your preference?

🔗High-Quality Mini Car Clock with Digital Display

https://preview.redd.it/3jghqrxglb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f9fa2a01404b1d2ae8d7a33a51036543d51ecaf
Incorporating the Youngfly Mini Car Clock into my daily life has been nothing short of a breeze. The auto car truck dashboard time self-adhesive bracket's sleek design and exquisite craftsmanship make for a perfect fit on my vehicle's dashboard.
Navigating through the various settings is a breeze; the bottom button for month and day, and the top button for hours and minutes. Once the desired time is set, pressing the top button once returns to normal time.
This electronic digital clock stands out with its automotive-grade specifications, featuring a PVC material and a 1Pc x AG10 button cell battery that comes included. Despite the minor difference in color and dimension due to varying light and screen settings, this car clock is a durable and reliable addition to any vehicle's interior.
The mini car clock comes packaged safely, ready to be installed effortlessly on your dashboard, thanks to the included double-sided adhesive product. Overall, the Youngfly Mini Car Clock has proven to be a worthy investment in convenience and style.

🔗Solar-Powered Car Clock with Adjustable Brightness

https://preview.redd.it/ifu9soahlb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=848cfc520754fe91c81b2ed7c65d8e59b10b69fe
As someone who's used the Novinex Car Clock daily, I've discovered its amazing solar-powered design. Not only does it come with a rechargeable battery, but it also has a solar panel and high temperature resistant battery power supply that functions without any wiring. The practicality of the clock shines with its vibration sensor, which automatically turns it on when any vibrations are detected in the car.
The heat resistance factor truly comes into play the moment you stick this digital clock onto your car's dashboard. It's made of high-temperature resistant material, perfect for the internal environment of a car without any worries of exposure during hot summer days.
The Novinex Car Clock takes pride in its brightness adjustment feature - a high temperature LED digital tube display. It allows the screen to be visible both in daytime and in the nighttime. It even adjusts itself automatically to provide the right brightness for the time of day.
The shading hood design on the clock is a fantastic feature to make the car clock viewable even under strong sunlight. If I were to list a con, it might be the price of this clock; however, the advanced features, practical usability, and sleek design seem to justify its cost.

🔗Multifunctional Waterproof Car Clock with LED Display

https://preview.redd.it/a9tiwqqhlb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ab3557691873d347c1b08423e3063e09b471c10
I've been using this nifty Car Clock Dashboard Multi-functional Vehicle Electronic Clock for a while now, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer! The waterproof and dustproof design makes it perfect for my messy car, ensuring it can withstand any spills or messes.
One of the standout features is the one-button operation, which is incredibly practical and user-friendly. You can easily switch between time division, second mode, date mode, and timer mode with just a single button press. The LED digital display is also a great addition, making it easy to read in any lighting condition.
However, there's one minor drawback: the wide supply voltage range can be quite overwhelming for some users. But overall, this Car Clock Dashboard Multi-functional Vehicle Electronic Clock is an excellent addition to any car, providing both functionality and durability.

🔗1940 Chevy Car Analog Clock with Blue Display

https://preview.redd.it/wfei8e0ilb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c60068139bbf8e718cc09207a09094fcbb6d2622
The Dakota Digital '40 Ford Car Clock is a stylish addition to any dashboard, boasting a sleek silver alloy style face and a vibrant red display. I found the product to be an easy installation, simply plugging into one of the CAT-5 network jacks on the VHX controller. However, it's worth mentioning that the clock needs to be synchronized with the VHX system, so it becomes a standalone clock option.
The clock's LED backlighting and lighted needles match the VHX instrument system, giving it a cohesive look within the car. One of my favorite features was its separate constant power input harness that allows the clock to continue running even when the key is off. However, the clock does require this harness to function, which can be a minor inconvenience for some.
Overall, the Dakota Digital '40 Ford Car Clock is a visually appealing and functional addition to any dashboard, though the requirement for a separate constant power input harness is worth considering.

🔗Car Analog Clock with Blue Display

https://preview.redd.it/w034bmbilb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d0ec9f11dab5b4d14e9855321d952c4e7e25c2f
As a car enthusiast, I couldn't resist giving the Dakota Digital 1957 Chevrolet Car Silver Analog Clock a try. The moment I saw its silver alloy style face with white display, I knew it would be a great addition to my classic Chevy. The clock's LED backlighting and lighted needles perfectly matched the vintage look of my dashboard.
While using it, I discovered that it only works alongside a VHX system and can't be used as a stand alone clock. This limitation was a bit of a downer, but the clock's ability to display the current time while I'm driving made up for it. The time is set through the VHX system, and it quickly syncs with the built-in clock upon initial power-up.
Considering its compatibility and unique design, I think this clock would be a great addition to any classic car enthusiast's collection. Just remember to connect the constant power input harness for the clock to continue running while the key is off. Overall, I'm happy with my experience, and the clock has added a touch of nostalgia to my daily drive.

🔗1955-56 Chevy Car Analog Clock: Vintage Style for Your Vehicle

https://preview.redd.it/gbhldtpilb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2eeb9fe2c5c4f48adf2e14b090f034cb77990e71
I recently had the chance to use the Dakota Digital 1957 Chevy Car Analog Clock, and I must say, it's a unique and eye-catching addition to any car. This clock's black alloy style face and white display give it a classic yet modern twist.
One feature that stood out to me was its LED backlighting and lighted needles, which perfectly match the VHX instrument system. It's the perfect complement to my VHX gauge kit and adds a touch of sophistication to my car's interior.
However, there were a few drawbacks. Firstly, the clock will only work alongside a VHX system and requires plugging into one of the network jacks on the VHX controller. Additionally, it cannot be used as a standalone clock and relies on the VHX system for time syncing.
Overall, the 1957 Chevy Car Analog Clock from Dakota Digital is a stylish and functional addition to any car. Its sleek design and VHX compatibility make it a worthwhile investment for car enthusiasts.

🔗Classic Racing Car Analog Clock

https://preview.redd.it/4ykgvc2jlb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2396efa92f25652b80af53f64bd30d4110c6ab1a
Imagine cruising down the road in your '58 Chevy Impala, the radio playing your favorite tunes, when all of a sudden, you glance over at your dashboard to check the time. That's when the Dakota Digital 1958 Chevrolet Impala Silver Analog Clock with Blue Display comes into play. This sleek, silver alloy style clock isn't just a stylish addition to your car, but it also complements your VHX gauge kit perfectly.
One of the most striking features of this clock is its traditional analog style clock face, which gives it a classic touch that seamlessly blends with your car's interior. The LED backlighting and lighted needles provide an impressive contrast against the blue display, making it easier to read the time even in low-light conditions.
However, there's a catch. This clock will only work alongside a VHX system. It's not a standalone clock. But once connected, it's a piece of art that blends perfectly with your dashboard, providing not just a clock, but a statement.
Remember, this is more than just a clock. It's a testament to the innovative spirit of the Dakota Digital VHX Series. It's a piece of machinery that has revolutionized the instrumentation industry. And yes, the time does change whenever you switch on the ignition, but hey, that's part of the charm.
In a world where technology often dominates, this clock serves as a gentle reminder of the beauty in traditional design, all while keeping you on track with time.

🔗1957 Chevy Car Vintage Digital Clock

https://preview.redd.it/x82twdijlb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af19d9fcffd976ac63b5ab2099474696e6e52be5
During a recent road trip, I came across this sleek 1957 Chevy Car Digital Clock in a local antique store. The black alloy style face and white display perfectly complemented the vintage vibe of my car. This retro timepiece not only added a touch of nostalgia to my vehicle, but it also served as a reliable way to keep track of time while on the go.
One of the standout features of this clock is its readability, even in direct sunlight. The white numbers against the black background make it easy to see at a glance. Additionally, the chrome bezel adds a touch of luxury and sophistication.
Despite these positives, there were a few areas where this digital clock could use some improvements. For instance, I noticed that the clock sometimes took a moment to adjust to a quick lane change. Additionally, the gray face seemed to blend in with the car's interior, making it a bit harder to spot from a distance.
Overall, this 1957 Chevy Car Digital Clock is a great addition to any vintage car enthusiast's collection. It offers both style and functionality, making it a valuable investment for those looking to add a touch of old-school charm to their ride.

🔗Vintage Chevy Car Analog Clock - 1951-52 Style

https://preview.redd.it/u7ya0pwjlb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e00ef9999e9c7ef01865f2007ed7b9b19218337
I stumbled upon this 1951-52 Chevy car clock with a sleek alloy style face, and boy, does it add a touch of nostalgia to my ride! . The white display is super clean, making it easy for me to tell the time in any situation. The clock even has a neon-colored backlight that illuminates the numbers beautifully.
But, the installation process was a bit of a challenge, taking me a few hours longer than expected. And although the build time for this clock is just around a week, it's not the fastest turnaround on the market. Overall, I'm happy with my decision to add this stylish car clock to my Chevy, and it's definitely a conversation starter! .

🔗Clear LCD Car Clock with Durable Adhesive

https://preview.redd.it/ougiihdklb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24a532052a682f5b340ef0a55d70a534838b8119
When I first received the KANBIT small digital car dashboard clock, I was impressed with its sleek design and clear LCD display. The large, easy-to-read numbers made it perfect for keeping an eye on the time and date while driving. But what really stood out was the durable adhesive on the back of the holder.
It stuck firmly to my dashboard, and I could still easily adjust the clock without removing it. This little clock was not only convenient, but it also added a stylish touch to my car's interior.
Overall, the KANBIT dashboard clock was a great addition to my daily life, enhancing both the function and appearance of my vehicle.

What is the difference between an analog and digital car clock?

Analog car clocks display time using a dial with hour and minute hands, while digital car clocks use digital numbers to display time. Each type has its own advantages, with analog clocks often being seen as more classic and digital clocks being more accurate and easier to read.

How do I replace the battery in my car clock?

Replacing the battery in a car clock typically requires unscrewing the back cover, removing the old battery, and then inserting the new battery in its place. Always consult the manufacturer's instructions for specific details on your car clock model.

Are car clocks waterproof?

Not all car clocks are waterproof. It is always a good idea to check the product description or manufacturer's specifications to determine if a clock is designed to be used in wet environments.

What is the average lifespan of a car clock?

The lifespan of a car clock can vary depending on the brand, quality, and usage. Generally, a well-maintained car clock should last several years with normal wear and tear.

2024.05.19 07:37 littlefox14 Postpartum Body issues

I am 6 weeks postpartum today. I'm really struggling with my postpartum body. This is my first baby and I wasn't expecting to struggle so much with how I look postpartum. Before pregnancy, I was a gym rat and a dancer, but during my pregnancy I had to stop almost all activities because of health concerns. I was big on being fit and feeling healthy, I was 130lbs and really proud of my muscles I had built. Now I'm 170+ lbs and I'm getting so anxious about getting back in the gym and getting back to being active in general. I haven't been cleared to do more than walk. I obviously love what my body did: it gave my husband and I our wonderful son and I love him more than words can describe. I'm proud of myself for being so patient with the pregnancy and not being able to be active at all. But now I'm having a hard time with not being cleared to be active when I feel good enough too be active. I'm also struggling with being able to fit into any of my clothes except for maternity clothes, which are all wintecold weather stuff. I'm in the 4th trimester is spring/summer and dont have much for it. We have my youngest brother's high school graduation coming up and I'm sort of freaking out about not having anything to wear to it that a) fits and I'm comfortable in and b) is breastfeeding friendly if it does fit. We live 2 hours from the nearest mall in a super rural area, so shopping is really limited to online. I'm frustrating because I want to be able to try stuff on and get a sense of my new style as a mom but can't really. I won't even go into how no one warned me about how deep stretch marks suddenly look after giving birth. But they are looking better. I just don't feel good in my body right now and I want to. I want to say I love those stretch marks because they mean I grew my child. I want to love all the weight I've put on because it means I nourished a growing baby. I want to be okay with my muscles having a atrophied because it means I rested my body for my baby and I's health. But I'm really struggling with all of it and I can't pretend like it doesn't upset me. My husband keeps telling me I'm beautiful, and just feel like he's telling me what he thinks I want to hear. But what else would he say? If he told me I look fat, I'd be pissed off about that, too. I'm just struggling to be patient with myself. I've been patient for 40 weeks and I've just run out of patience. Advice on how I can gaslight myself into being okay with my body and patient till I get cleared to do gentle exercises?

2024.05.19 07:35 KiwiBiGuy MMORPGs without a subscription where I can play solo

I swap around games I play a lot, so a subscription model won't work for me, as I may play the game for a day, a week (rarely) a month, then I'll put it down for a week or month or more before playing again.
aka I'm the guy that has several games on the go at once.
.
I like the MMO style of games, I enjoy seeing others running around etc, but generally I like to play solo, mostly because I'll jump on and off during a session as real life dictates.
I'm happy to buy the game (Lost Epoch), Happy for cosmetic micros (PoE),
I don't want Pay2Win, Gatcha, pay2play etc And no subscriptions.
Can people suggests some MMOs?
. I know of
Last Epoch is fun, but I don't see any other players around
Path of Exile, I found the colour scheme a bit dark, the gameplay itself was fun, but the mini map was horrendous, when PoE2 comes out I'll be playing Diablo 3 is a bit to arcadey for me
Diablo 4 I tried during a free weekend and didn't grab me
Elder Scrolls Online I bought when it first released & found it kinda buggy, I should try it again
Eve Online looks amazing, but seems I'd need to commit a lot of time and regular time which I can't do
Temtem is fun
Secret World Legends is apparently monetised up the wazoo

2024.05.19 07:34 asteriaaaaaaaaa i'm so tired of weaponized incompetence

Since freshman year I've been grouping with the same people para sa activities whenever a group was necessary (kami yung may scholarships sa class so hindi pwedeng chill lang, and we're all on the same wavelength on that). I usually lead my usual group din and enthusiastic ako doing that because I know they'll deliver.
As much as they make it seem to be a compliment, super nasstress na ako and to be honest, the "flattery" that they're trying to do, it's not all that flattering. I've always been the one to initiate everything. Kahit sa pagcha-chat or paggawa ng gc, ako ang nauuna kase ayaw nilang magstart.
Unrelated but there are also times na sakin nagtatanong most of my classmates ng gagawin (like dati sa calculus, kahit hindi ko din naman talaga naintindihan). So in the end, ako yung nagse-search ng videos and naghahanap ng solutions sa problems nila.
Now, nag-set na ako ng boundaries. Nagchat sila sa gc namin, sabi ko na lang na sila na ang bahala and ayoko nang mag-lead. May nag-message sakin privately nagtatanong ng gagawin, sabi ko hindi ko din alam.
I'd do this project solo if I can but it's a big one kase and malapit na ang deadline. Now I'm betting my everything (mostly grades) na they'll initiate the project on their ow and I'll just follow.
Hindi ako makapag-rant sa twt or ig kase baka makita nila so dito na lang

Just took my first tap lesson today, coming in with zero experience. I have done ballet for at least 10 years (if that matters or not). I'm thinking about signing up for a summer session that runs 6 weeks. My question is...
Is there anything that I can do to practice in the meantime sice classes don't start until at least 2 months from now? Specifically suggestions for YouTube videos and or excerises you found helpful when you were just starting out?
Also where do you practice/what surface is best to practice on?

🔗Meguiar's Permanent Odor Elimination Whole Car Air Re-Fresher Fiji Sunset Scent

https://preview.redd.it/z1ivevqlkb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e5acebac56bad08b552c46fe13aa7355f9ebf6d
As a car enthusiast who constantly deals with lingering odors in my vehicle, I was excited to give Meguiar's Air Freshner a try. The Fiji Sunset scent is refreshing and tropical, which was a welcome change from the stale smell that had been plaguing my car.
The first thing that stood out to me about this product was its effectiveness at eliminating odors - it truly does live up to its promise of finding and removing them permanently. I used it to get rid of a smokers' smell in my friend's car, and within minutes, the unpleasant odor was gone for good.
Another highlight of this air freshener is its long-lasting scent. Unlike some other products on the market, this one leaves behind a pleasant fragrance that lasts for weeks, making it perfect for those who want their cars to always smell fresh.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks to this product. Firstly, the nozzle can be difficult to control, sometimes causing the aerosol to spray uncontrollably and making a mess. Additionally, the scent may not suit everyone's taste, but that's subjective and depends on individual preferences.
Overall, Meguiar's Air Freshner is an excellent choice for anyone looking to eliminate unpleasant odors and keep their car smelling great for weeks.

🔗Fast-Acting Odor Eliminator Spray for Cars

I've been using the Freshfx Car Bomb Spray from Armor All recently, and it's been a game-changer for my ride! The product comes in an adorable little fogger bottle that's super easy to use. A quick squirt here and there, and the lingering odors from that smelly gym bag or takeout food completely vanish. Plus, the 'New Car' scent adds a burst of energy whenever I hop into my car, making each drive feel like an exciting adventure!
However, on the downside, I wish the fragrance was a bit more long-lasting. I have to spray it more frequently to keep my car smelling fresh throughout the entire day. Despite this, I'd still recommend the Freshfx Car Bomb Spray because it's fast, easy, and effectively eliminates those stubborn odors!

🔗Dakota Odor Bomb - Permanent Car Odor Eliminator with New Car Scent

https://preview.redd.it/89t98lgmkb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98414c9ffa468e1c9dcbaab5037eaab208da9448
The Dakota Odor Bomb is my go-to solution for removing stubborn odors from surfaces and the air. This odor eliminating fogger packs a punch, effectively destroying bad smells in vehicles, homes, boats, RVs, and offices. It's ideal if you've been struggling to eliminate lingering odors caused by pets, smoking, cooking, or mildew.
Using the Dakota Odor Bomb is straightforward. After placing the can on a flat surface, simply press the valve into the locking catch and leave the area. The fogger will disperse an odor-destroying mist throughout the room, reaching every cranny and nook to eradicate stubborn smells. It's important not to disturb the area for at least two hours following application, and to ventilate the room for 30 minutes before re-entering.
One feature that really stood out for me was how the Dakota Odor Bomb effectively covers large spaces. Each bomb treats up to 6000 cubic feet, equivalent to the size of a typical hotel room. This makes it a perfect choice for larger rooms or vehicles. However, a downside to consider is that the scent can be quite strong initially. But don't worry, it dissipates within a few days, leaving behind just clean air.
The Dakota Odor Bomb is more than just an air freshener. It's a reliable and effective odor eliminator that destroys odors permanently. If you're tired of temporary solutions that only mask bad smells, this is definitely worth considering. Plus, it's surprisingly affordable to keep using on a regular basis.
In conclusion, my experience with the Dakota Odor Bomb has been very positive. It's proven to be effective for addressing stubborn odors and provides a much-needed sense of freshness in spaces that otherwise smell unpleasant. While the initial scent can be quite strong, it does dissipate relatively quickly. Overall, I highly recommend the Dakota Odor Bomb for anyone seeking a long-lasting, effective odor removal solution.

🔗Black Cherry Scent Organic Air Freshener Can

https://preview.redd.it/bjaoiszmkb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6e03c3c888d34de3272d6095385d9d610fc57f9
I have been using Scent Bomb's Black Cherry Scent Organic Air Freshener for about two months now in my car, and let me tell you, this little can packs a punch! As soon as you pop the top, the luscious black cherry scent fills the air, replacing any lingering odors with a sweet, ripe aroma.
The first thing that really amazed me about this product is its lasting power. I have it placed in my car, and it has maintained a consistent fragrance for the entire couple of months I've been using it. The other feature that is truly impressive is the adjustable cap on top of the can. This allows me to control the strength of the scent depending on my mood or the situation – like when I want a light, subtle aroma or a full-blown cherry blast!
However, I did encounter a minor issue with the product, and it's the fact that it can become a little slippery when it gets wet or damp. I accidentally sprayed it on the floor of my car once, and it made the surface quite slick. So, be sure to keep it away from surfaces that could become dangerous when wet.
In conclusion, Scent Bomb's Black Cherry Scent Organic Air Freshener Can is a fantastic product that provides a wonderful cherry scent and lasts for up to 60 days. It's perfect for cars, homes, and even lockers, as it covers up even the most stubborn odors. While there's a small concern about its effect on wet surfaces, I still highly recommend giving it a try – you won't be disappointed!

🔗Meguiar's Summer Breeze Whole Car Air Re-Fresher

https://preview.redd.it/gqu9im9nkb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cad69a7e5432cfc78cdb73526fd880e2abd27e57
I recently tried Meguiar's Whole Car Air Refresher in Summer Breeze Scent, and I must say it has made a noticeable difference in the smell of my car. I had been dealing with the lingering scent of a wet dog after a rainy trip, and this product has thankfully taken care of that.
What stood out most to me was the ease of use. It's as simple as shaking the can, setting it off, and letting it circulate through your vehicle's air vents. Within 15 minutes, my car was filled with a refreshing summertime aroma that left even my most skeptical passengers pleasantly surprised.
However, there are some drawbacks. The scent, while initially strong and pleasing, can dissipate relatively quickly, leaving you needing to remove and reset the device again soon after. Additionally, it's a bit pricey for a one-time use product, so you'll need to consider whether the benefits outweigh the cost.
Overall, if you're looking for a quick solution to stubborn car odors, Meguiar's Whole Car Air Refresher is definitely worth trying. Just be prepared to potentially reapply the product more frequently than you might expect.

Car air freshener bombs are small, compressed balls of fragrance that are designed to be used in vehicles. They release a burst of scent upon being exposed to air, effectively freshening up the interior of a car.

2024.05.19 07:26 SusFairy Feeling defeated as a single, 25f putting herself out there (long rant).

Looking for others who can relate and who may have felt this same way at one point. Advice is welcome. ❤️
I’m in my mid-twenties now and have been single for 6 months. My ex was a nice man, but he was not able to meet my needs and often invalidated my feelings. He wasn’t the first man to do this to me. So I started going to therapy regularly, gained some self confidence back, and have been vigorously putting myself out there on dating apps and in real life too. All my closest friends are in happy relationships, and I also want to meet my best friend and share my life with someone special. Currently, I’m seeing someone as a fwb, and he’s great, but he doesn’t check all my boxes for a relationship. So I continue on with my search as a single woman in her 20s. To be very honest, I feel extremely lonely. I believe this is partly due to the culture of dating apps, and perhaps modern dating rituals in general. Right now, I’m on Tinder and Hinge and I’ve been love-bombed on these apps multiple times. We will talk and have great conversations for a week or two, getting on really well, and then radio silence. Sometimes I’ve even gone on dates with these people. Men are also constantly not replying when I message first, which confuses me as I thought this was a positive thing for a woman to do in their eyes… If they do reply, maybe we will have a decent banter and a couple back a forth messages, and then they become so dry! Their replies turn into single words for reasons I struggle to understand. The last thing Ive noticed on the apps is the absolute lack of initiative these men have in making plans to meet in person. It feels like this ball is always left in my court. To some, this isn’t an issue, but I want a man who is ambitious and assertive. It’s as though they tip toe around making a plan, leaving hints but never being straight forward. And this isn’t just men in their 20s I’m meeting on the apps, it’s men in their 30s too. It’s gotten to a point where I am frequently disappointed and exhausted by the culture. Especially as I curate my profile to get more matches, put effort into witty responses and try to message first as much as I can. Sometimes I tell myself that I need to take a break and get off the apps, but then I think that will only put me one-step backwards from where I want to be, which is with my person.
If it were easier to meet someone in-person, then I would not be bothering with online dating. Unfortunately, no one goes up and talks to you at the bar anymore either. Maybe this is just an issue where I live. I’m curious to know if other women find the same thing when they go out in their city.
Anyways! The rant is over now. I hope this helps some other women out there feel seen too. Good luck to all us single ladies, because we need it!

2024.05.19 07:25 ThrowRAsugarr My (23F) insecurities are ruining my relationship (25M). How do I stop?

I (23F) have been dating 25M for 10 months now. I am so scared I am going to sabotage this relationship because of my insecurities. I am just comparing myself endlessly with his ex-gf and his ex-FWB.. There are multiple things that bother me, I''ll try to list them:
It’s almost like I want to make myself feel anxious and insecure. Information, pictures or texts that I've found through lurking (which I try to stop doing) hurts my feelings but have burned themselves into my head. (1) For example, the summer we started dating he was frequently liking his ex-FWB pictures on IG - some revealing, some not - last one he liked was from a couple of months back, a very revealing one where she had taken a picture from above, angle looking into her tanktop, her tongue was out, nipple piercings visable through her shirt, very suggestive. Him liking provocative pictures of a woman he used to have sex with makes me uncomfortable. He hasn't done it for months now, but I fear it could return around summer when she wears revealing outfits again.
(2) I've also recently realized in a group chat with his friends he added me to, you can look back at messages before you were in the GC. That led me to look way back and see some things from months before we started dating, that still bothers me. Messages about his ex-FWB, how hot she is, how hot it is that she is a masochist (I'm not one), etc. I even saw pictures he had shared in the GC of many, many nudes she had sent him and pictures he took while they were having sex, in many different positions (with her consent, she's into it). It bothers me it looks to be using the same BDSM equipment he uses on me, the same positions he likes me in, etc. It makes me paranoid he's thinking about her when he's having sex with me. From the pictures it was apparent she is more sexually confident than I am, which makes sense given she has a much bigger sexual history than I do, he only just took my virginity, but still, it makes me scared he wishes I was more like her. This thoughts show up in my head almost any time we do anything sexual together, it's horrible and obviously makes it very hard to be fully there and enjoy it
(3) I also saw a message he sent in the GC 8 days after him and I had met: “I asked \ex-fwb* if she wanted to fuck just now, she's online she’s ignoring me lol”.* This was 8 days after we met, 8 days after he sent a message to that same GC about how he met a cute girl and he thinks that she likes him (me). We weren't official, didn't become so until 5 days after he sent that ex-fwb message, but still, it kind of hurts he wishes to hook up with her once more even after we had met, we had had our first date at that point. Especially also because he has told me multiple times that having sex with her reassured him that sex just as a means to get off wasn't for him, and that it was the emotional intimacy that made it important to him, he said he didn’t even enjoy it, wasn’t even attracted to her body type, etc…. yet he wanted to do it again? I fear he lied to me.
(4) There were also some messages from the past about his ex. He send various different texts various different occasions about how he loves how extremely outgoing and sociable she is and that they can have such intelligent discussions. I feel like him and I never discuss things back and forth. I also am very, very much the opposite of "sociable", I am very quiet and subdued, I like to observe more than anything and talking to strangers makes me nervous. He also send a comment about how his ex, at the time when they were dating, had "perfect big boobs", which makes me insecure since mine are much more on the smaller side.
This is me being insecure. I am aware of that, fully. I want to fix it. I am in queue for therapy, but for now I’m doing my best with what I can do. It is absolutely exhausting, the way everything makes me second guess myself. I've never felt as insecure as I do now. I've considered breaking up multiple times, even though I love him and really can see myself having a family with him in the future, just because it is so draining and I feel much more insecure now than I ever did before we were dating. The little insecurity that I do show him willingly, he will go on to reassure me a ton.. he's very loving, supportive and reassuring that he loves me for how I am, he's called me more attractive, trustworthy, more compatible, etc, that any girl he had a relationship with before, so it's not as if he is trying to make me insecure or anything. It's all in my head. How do I improve from this? ANY advice appreciated x
TL;DR: I'm struggling with insecurities in my relationship with my boyfriend of 9 months. I find myself comparing myself to his exes and feeling inadequate. I've discovered past messages about his ex-FWB and ex-girlfriend that exacerbate my anxiety, from before we were dating. Including him calling his ex-FWB hot, sharing the nudes she sent him, sharing pictures he took while they were having sex (with her consent). It makes me extremely insecure and worried that he prefers her, or is thinkig about her when we do stuff.
Also about his ex, about how he thinks she's so amazing for being sociable and outgoing and I am the completely opposite. I worry that he wishes I was more like her.. I feel jealous and uncomfortable with the fact that he has liked his ex-FWB provocative IG pics last summer and I worry he will start liking her pictures again this summer when she starts to wear less clothing again, despite them seemingly not having been in contact since she ghosted him. I'm aware of my insecurities and seeking therapy, but it's not readily available. My boyfriend is supportive, but I fear my insecurities may damage our relationship. How do I repair my insecurities?

2024.05.19 07:25 Pale_Ad_9530 Can we please stop obsessing over turks

Seriously, they're some of the worst racist people ever. Everywhere I look, they're hating on Pakistani people, whether online or in real life. I've watched their vlogs where they visit Pakistan, and the image they portray is disgusting. White people are much better than these morons; at least they try to show the best image of Pakistan instead of going into slums and saying that Pakistan is generally a bad country. In recent events, even with Kyrgyz people torturing a Pakistani student, they fully support them. They're happy about what they've done, saying it's the right thing and that Pakistanis deserve it, which is disgusting.

Should Sega Revive Ecco The Dolphin Series?

Its hard to believe that its been over 30 years since the first Ecco the Dolphin was released for the Sega Genesis back in 1992. Ecco the Dolphin was a pretty unique action-adventure game for its time that stood out during the 16-bit era during the early 90’s. Ecco the Dolphin was a game that many people had nothing but good things to say about other than the fact that it was somewhat scary at times. Aside from the original ’92 game we got to see other installments within the Ecco series throughout the 90’s. We got to see Ecco: Tides of Time and Ecco Jr during ’94-’95 while getting Ecco the Dolphin: Defenders of the Future in 2000. We have not seen an Ecco the Dolphin game in over 20 years mainly because the landscape of gaming had changed during the 2000’s in relation to genre preference. During the 2000’s the shooter genre was very popular and people gravitated to more adult themed action adventure titles. Also, during the 2010’s action role-playing games started to become more popular in general along with online multiplayer video games. Its common knowledge that Sega plans on reviving old IP’s from 90’s including Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Crazy Taxi and others. Seeing a new Ecco the Dolphin game would be something that would turn heads within the gaming world but its uncertain on whether or not that is on Sega’s agenda at the moment.

2024.05.19 07:24 EBBBBBBBBBBBB Hot take: I want to have choice paralysis

It is, of course, much too late for any real changes for the upcoming Revised PHB, and WotC was never going to make any fundamental shifts anyways, but I've been considering it for a while. This post was mostly inspired by me reading the rules for Mythras, which if you're not aware is a d100 game generally catered towards lower fantasy, with more brutal and more tactical combat. One of the main things about combat in Mythras is that, if you get a critical hit during combat (or if your opponent does particularly badly to defend against your attack), you can add certain special rider effects to your attack, whether that be maximizing your damage, aiming for a certain body part, compelling their surrender, or damaging their weapon or armor. There's a broad variety of these special effects, and choosing which one you want to use in any given situation is both fun and a bit overwhelming.
Reading Mythras, and then playing a Fighter and a Wizard in Pathfinder 2e and Laserllama's Monk in 5e, all since fall last year, has made me come to the conclusion that I dearly enjoy having too many options. There's a lot of talk about the supposed complexity of spellcasters or Battlemaster, but when I look at them I see that, yeah, there's some choices there, that's cool! I like choices too! But there simply aren't enough in 5e. Even the mightiest of spellcasters feel flat because all but the standout spellcasters feeling very similar, Battlemasters are basically all incentivized to take the best Maneuvers when they get their subclass and leave it at that - and don't even get me started about how all of 5e's other martials are so similar that you might as well just go back to having a Fighting Man class and make the current classes subclasses. It's fine the first time around, but every time I've tried to theory craft or make a new character, I've realized I literally can't do anything unique in terms of playstyle - the game just won't support it mechanically.
I want to continue to like 5e, I really do. It was my introduction to ttrpgs, and there's a lot to enjoy about it and its community, but the more you examine it, and the longer you play it, the more it feels like you just can't do anything with it. My Champion Fighter is the same as your Champion Fighter, my Draconic Sorcerer is near identical to your Draconic Sorcerer. In combat, martials run up and hit people and spellcasters win from long range. Any differences created in the system feel like a product of the players working around the limitations, rather than the system facilitating them to make those decisions about their character.
The new PHB is certainly working towards it by making feats more common, and I do like that, but tbh I don't think it's enough. Maybe I want more from D&D than its designers are willing to provide, but that kinda sucks, yknow? It's not like there's not room for it.
